### Topics

- **Primary:** TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) announcement rumors and feature reveal timing, Internet connectivity in pinball machines as new feature standard, Stern game design philosophy and feature distribution (drop targets, mechs, etc.), DLC/software update models for pinball machines; third-party licensing implications, Post-pandemic operator economics and location pinball viability
- **Secondary:** Color DMD technology and display mode preferences (LCD, pixel, blended), Stern music licensing restrictions and custom soundtrack modification, American Pinball financial sustainability and secondary market performance

### Sentiment

**Mixed** (0.45) — George expresses enthusiasm for Ghostbusters hardware upgrades and potential TMNT features, but frustration with Stern design choices (missing drop targets), pessimism about American Pinball's viability, and deep concern about pandemic-era operator economics threatening location pinball survival. Extended discussion reflects anxiety about industry future mixed with optimism about potential DLC/update solutions.

### Signals

- **[business_signal]** Post-pandemic operator capacity restrictions (50-66% reduction) will eliminate location pinball demand for 6-12 months; manufacturers forced to target home market; Stern 'has to be freaking out' (confidence: high) — George extensive analysis: operators can only keep 'every third machine' due to 6-foot distancing; predicts operator purchases will drop to near-zero; Stern revenue model dependent on operator sales
- **[community_signal]** George and Mystery Pinball Theater collaborated on streaming camera/lighting improvements; George planning Roboctopus home automation integration with Nanoleaf SDK (confidence: high) — George: 'the lighting and camera stream was something that Mystery Pinball Theater and I had been talking about for maybe about three weeks'
- **[sentiment_shift]** Star Wars positioned as negative design benchmark by players; expectations now set low for upcoming Stern releases; Jurassic Park referenced as gold standard for playfield layout (confidence: high) — George: 'Hoping for Jurassic Park quality layout, expecting Star Wars'; indicates shift in community standards post-Star Wars release
- **[design_philosophy]** Upcoming unnamed Stern game criticized for single target instead of drop bank; George expresses disappointment about design choices and attributes to designer constraints rather than Elwynn availability (confidence: high) — George: 'It's going to have that single target like The Munsters did instead of a drop bank. I'm not happy about that. Should have given it to Elwynn.'
- **[design_philosophy]** Potential DLC/third-party update model proposed as solution to operator economics crisis and long Stern update cycles; licensing complexity acknowledged as major hurdle (confidence: medium) — George: 'imagine Stern were to farm out updates like somebody else could buy the license...and then another company can offer DLC updates'; acknowledges licensing would be barrier but sees potential value
- **[licensing_signal]** Music licensing on Stern machines restricts custom soundtrack modification; George attributes this to Stern protecting third-party licensing investments rather than technical/legal requirements (confidence: medium) — George: 'I imagine it's because of the money Stern paid to put that music initially. They don't want their investment to be for nothing.'
- **[market_signal]** American Pinball business viability questioned; community expects company may not survive past 2021; games not retaining secondary market value (confidence: medium) — Chat rumor: 'I don't see American Pinball making it past 2021.' George confirms they're operating at loss; notes games depreciate faster than Stern used equivalents
- **[market_signal]** High price point ($7k+) for Stern machines not justified by feature set; George criticizes missing drop targets as standard on premium-tier games (confidence: high) — George: 'I'll probably be dropping close to 7k on this thing. Can I please get my drop targets?'

## Transcript

Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Hello. Good evening. Happy Memorial Day. Welcome. My name is George. This stream is Don't Panic Flip. That's me. You're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation. Flip stream. Welcome to the stream. Faye, welcome. Dice, welcome. Here it comes. we're gonna get it mid-heart welcome to the stream the night there it is forever i love that intro i think i'm fairly certain that's my favorite by the way we have here tonight, Weldworks Blueberry Cheesecake Berliner. My new favorite beer. Wait for it here. Yeah, excited about this one. I've already had one of these earlier today. I'm hoping everybody just had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and maybe threw back a couple of beers, enjoyed the afternoon. That's kind of what we did. Dice is fond of that intro as well. And they also, thank you. Yeah, that, uh, the lighting and camera stream was something that, uh, MPT3K and I had been talking about for maybe about three weeks. Something we were just kind of discussing and, uh, and last night it just opened up timing wise. And I'm like, Dude, you want to do it now? Because I've got, I had like an hour and a half to prep and get everything all wired up. I still have the handsaw, or whatever you want to call that, attached to the boom right now. So it's a little funky, but it's not powered, thankfully. So I think it should be okay. Outside of that, what are we doing tonight, guys? We're going to chill. We are going to play some Ghostbusters. We still have this all set up. Honestly, I feel like I've been playing Ghostbusters for a week, but I haven't actually had the opportunity since moving the outlane post back to standard setting, nailing down the pitch, setting it right at seven degrees, balancing it, adding everything, including, by the way, you guys can see it, the new color DMD, which I think looks amazing. And I got the topper on there. We've got the lighted flipper buttons. It's absolutely gorgeous. It was a gorgeous game before, but now it's, like, extra gorgeous, more gorgeous, more better gorgeous. Just make sure you don't nudge so hard that you fire up that saw. It does still have a little juice in it. Yeah, we're going to hope not to do that. Other stuff I got done. Let's see. I cleaned up a little bit in the garage. You'll notice up there. finally got the Nanoleafs installed. I don't have them running on Roboctopus yet, but very soon, because they do have the Wi-Fi connection. There is an SDK. As soon as I get a day, I feel like where my wife will... Like, the next time my wife goes and visits her family, and I have the weekend to myself, I will definitely spend the whole weekend working on bringing Roboctopus up to snuff, because there is a ton of work I want to do on that. Flipstream coming in with that rave. You can still kind of see it. It's there. It's there. You know what? I just thought of a way that we can make it a little bit brighter. There. That should brighten it up a little bit. up a little bit. Fliptronic, welcome to the stream. And I thought you were going to say you'd give us a 48-hour stream. No. I might stream the programming side of it, though, while I try and figure stuff out. I've done one of those streams so far, and it was actually quite interesting. I ended up talking and finding out other streamers who are streaming software development, there's definitely a big question mark on that as to whether or not the people watching could potentially sue for rights to the software you're making. Which, if you guys have seen, Deadflip, I think, has also picked up on that. And he now puts a disclaimer at the bottom. The disclaimer is not enough, unfortunately. If somebody really wanted to make a big deal of it, they absolutely could, even with the disclaimer. Because there's precedent for disclaimers when you, let's say, log into computers and you expect a certain level of privacy, those disclaimers are just that. They're a disclaimer. You're not agreeing to anything in any legal sense. So, I think that's still, but it helps. It doesn't, like, I would still suggest doing that. And the next time I do a coding stream, I will also do something similar with a little box down at the bottom. Thankfully, the code I had worked on the last time, I don't think was really related to anything significant. So, anyway, that technical detail out. Let's turn up the tunes. We got some of that 90s groove going on right now. And let's play some pinball. And drink some beer, by the way. I don't know if I've said it enough, but happy Memorial Day. And for anyone who has served, thank you very much for your service. And slapping you with a lawsuit would make me, coming in here three times a week, super awkward. Yes, tight. It's not, like, obviously that is not directed at any one person. And I would never, but at the same time, it's got, that's why often I think you see people working on open source software. when they're streaming. So you'll see a lot of Microsoft people do it. Caviel, aka Flipstream. You see, you do that, and then during the duel, you said pick one. But if you're going to use all of them, I feel like I should get to use whichever one I want. I'm just going to rotate. Sometimes it's Caviel, sometimes it's Flipstream. Alright, let's move upside and let the man go through here. That did not go. I was trying to hit the librarian shot there. Oh, that's super cool. Cool, cool, cool. Yep, lots going on here. Lots going on. Woo! Alright, we're cool. Fair enough on the name selection. The next drinking stream is going to be fun, though. That's cheating. That is... That is totally cheating. Those outlanes are just... magnetic. Magnetic. Alright, let's keep this going here. That was almost perfect. Man. All right, let's hit him. There we go. And we're going to start a scene on that right orbit, I guess. Yeah. I'm subbing both. You are absolutely right, Flipstream. You couldn't have been more right in that instance. I kind of, yeah. There we go. All right, first mode shot. We've got ourselves a storage facility. Let's grab that. Totally grab. catch it totally did not catch that alright here we go we've got storage facility lit again actually I don't want to hit that just yet I kind of want to save that for a harder mode if that makes sense see if we can hit that shot Nope. Oh, my gosh. And, or one person cocked George a whole lot. That drinking stream is quite literally going to be live-assist for everybody. Oh, man. I'm looking forward to it, because we are so close to being, I don't know, done is not the right word. The DMD must be super clean. When the background is black, I can see a reflection. It is. I just cleaned all of this off. It sucks that you're seeing that. I wonder if I need to put a light on it or something. Oh, you know what? I think I can, I might be able to get rid of that. Hold on. Just bear with me here a sec, guys. Sources. Let's noodle on this for a second. I'm going to come in here. Oh, yeah, that's just way too bright. Let's do disable automatic exposure. Drop it down. Let's bump up the gain. There we go. How's that? And then we can do saturation up. and... You know what? Actually, I'm going to leave white balance at automatic. There we go. How's that? Now, you can kind of see the reflection. Molly Hatchet, welcome to the stream. Oh, I've got to hit the OK button over here because I am not getting the feedback I was looking for. Uh... Uh... And what's more amazing is that the player cam and the DMD reflection are pretty close in sync. Yeah, yeah, They're pretty good. One of them's reversed. Let's go spook. Cool. Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. Super fun. All right, all right. We've got to find the shots, right? I meant to do that, exactly. Yeah, yes. That was an awful skill shot, but... Here we go, let's start a scene. No, we're not. There we go. We're going to find these shots. You know, it's the first couple games of the night. Man, that shot is a rough shot in this game. That's fine, though. Got it. All right, first mode done. Let's hit spook. Oh, I really thought that that would have jumped nicely off the tip of the flipper. I cannot trust that apparently on this game. Shoot this girl. Blanklist here caused all of this shutting down of the protection grid. Is that true? Yes, your honor, it's true. This man has no deep. Wait a second. You meant to, or straight down the middle. It's early, yeah. There we go. Spook Central. Check out the color, DMD. This looks great. Hopefully it's not too dark for you guys. I should throw it down here and see what that looks like. Yeah, that looks okay. All right, I'll take it. There we go, first shot. Now we've got to save. We've got four shots lit white, one for each one of the Ghostbusters. There's the first. Easy peasy. Wow! Man, those stand-ups right there, they are... they're just... they're blocking. They're blocking perfectly. Okay, looks good. Good, good to know. Okay, Spook Central's done! Ready to move on to Gozer the Gozerian. and there we go so here's Gozer I am going to move this back up top so I can actually see the chat there we go did anyone else happen to check out Kaneda's the latest episode I did not I did see his post on Facebook though where he comments on all of the features that are supposed to be in the game. Not what I was going for. Come on. We got this. There we go. And there's another shot. And Gozer. All right, so we hit Gozer. Gozer. No. Nope, nope, nope. Let's see here. I read the Twip article summary, which was pretty much everything that he had posted to Facebook. I did not get the chance to listen to his podcast yet. It's going to have that single target like Munsters did instead of a drop bank. I'm not happy about that. Should have given it to Elwynn. Elwynn can't do every single game, and apparently he's already designed the next one. I'm not going to judge it based on that. I am hoping for the absolute best, because it's a theme I'm so in love with. That's going right down the middle. I like that one. I'll take that back. That was just... That was just mean. I think we need to come out just... Whoa! That was scary. How was that? Nope. That's there. Gotta keep playing with it. Okay, I think now we're good. Hoping for JP quality layout, expecting Star Wars. Flipstream, that's... It's not... It's not... That's probably not wrong, and that's probably a good way to go in it. I know the drops are expensive, but come on, Stern. I'll probably be dropping close to 7k on this thing. Can I please get my drop targets? Yeah. I agree. It seems like drop targets should be the standard. It was not worth moving the whole machine. Wow. and then dropped it down there. Jeez. Go get me. So, got it off of that one. Oh, wow. Man, that live catch is kind of sucking there. Again. I love Star Wars, but I want more for TMNT. At least a final wizard mode. Yeah. Okay. Here we go. There's a shot coming down. Nice live catch. I'm going to compliment myself there. There's a shot. There's that shot. One more. I mean, arguably, I guess the harder shot. Nice. And... Too much. And who was that? That was Lord Howard Hurts. Welcome to the stream. Magnus slings on the premium. Can I hit a fire, though? Too much. Again. Man, am I just not learning? That was gonna... Yeah. Anything significant there, we're gonna tilt out. Man, I feel like I still... Okay, now I'm too far away. Maybe better? I don't know. Damn, that color DMD looks nice! Thank you, Shooter! I'm gonna need one for my good- Damn. I get that. The color DMD looks amazing. It really does. I feel your pain. Was at the club earlier. Turns out dead bounces only work when the flippers are properly aligned. Yeah. Yeah, the tip is killing me here. And for rumors that turn out to be true, I don't see American Pinball making it past 2021. So that's kind of an interesting one, because it seems like, money-wise, they're not really... They're okay with not making a profit for a while. Get up there. Yep. Wow, it gave me the ball save. I will take it. Come on. There we go. Alright, so now we've got to hit ghost. There's one. One. Two And three That a dangerous shot too because it right there up the middle I guess I should be targeting a glancing shot. Yeah. Too much. There is We Got One and Storage Facility. There we go. Nice and easy here. Let's go there. Yes. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. All right. There, we'll take that one. Nice and easy. We're cool. We're cool. We're cool. I've heard to factor in five years of operating at a loss when opening investing in a business. I mean, that sounds like good numbers to me. Ah, all right. We got Tobin Spirit Guide and Spook Librarian. Even more so for something niche like pinball. Sounds about right. Electric Skrill, welcome to the stream. Color DMV is tempting for me, too. My machine is pretty stock, though. I have some mods I've not even installed, like Holographic Screen Protector. Oh, that's cool. I'm Premium LE, right? There's the Stupor. There's whatever that shot is. All right, all right. There we go. There we go, for whatever reason. Oh, it didn't count it. Woo, I will take that. And boom. Slime me. Is that the second or is that the third on the storage facility? That's second. Second. Oh, yeah. Thank you. I'll take that on the fly. That was just a completely missed shot right there. all right we're starting to find the shots though at least we have that uh let's see here let's do something groundbreaking layout and they ditched the photoshop copy paste artwork there's nothing in the rumored titles that even sounds remotely interesting to play you know from american pinball i don't know i'm gonna say i'm just being weird but i i'm kind of interested in hot wheels it looks like it's gonna be a fun game it doesn't look like life-changing by any means They're not doing anything crazy, but it looks like it might be a really good time. And I'm hoping the artwork is super inconsistent with all of their previous games is all, because I really dislike their animations. Let's see here. Yeah, the rule of thumb was three to five years when I was going for a business major, and that was over ten years ago. At the same time, Midhart says that they've beaten the odds. Don't something like 70% of all new businesses not make it out of their first year. Yeah, I remember it being higher than the rate for divorce. So, yeah, I think most businesses don't succeed. I never thought their cost of entry was worth what was in the game either, but of course that's just a personal preference. I could get a stern and a third of another for the price of one AP game. True. Yeah, man, you go slightly used on a pro, Although the American Pinball games so far have not held their value, I feel like, on the secondary market. So, I mean, as a positive, if you're looking for something on the secondary market. Houdini makes me so angry. Yeah. It's kind of fun. I enjoy playing it, but I haven't spent a ton of time. Oktoberfest. Let's just put a bunch of shots at a weird upper flipper angle and make it so you can't even see the shots. Octoberfest for me does not hit the mark I am just overall I am just not a fan of that game alright so now we're in the ballroom let's see if we can bring storage facility in or not Darn it. Darn it. Darn it. Keep trying to hit the captive ball here. Wow, that got stopped prematurely. Game's going to cheat on me. I'm cheating on the game. That's just how it is. That's not good. All right, it gave it to us. There's We Came, We Saw. Kicked its butt! All right, so we got our first wizard mode here, mini wizard mode. Nice shooting, Tex! Nice shooting, Tex! All right. We have lit negative reinforcement on ESP ability. We do have storage facility lit. I kind of want to bring in another mode, and we have 6X on the multipliers going. So, George, there are two different versions of color DMD. This is the LCD. People kept telling me the LCD was better. Go LCD. There's one. I will take that. I'm taking it. We got an extra ball lit. Woo! That sucks right there. Thank you. Cloud Yells Back. That's an awesome name. There we go. Okay, now we've got Storage Facility Multiball. Did we finally get our extra ball? Look at that animation in color. Also, that live catch was amazing. Did we already finish whatever mode we were currently on? That sucks. That sucks. All right, let's see where we are. There we go. So now we're in back off, man. We've got our extra ball. We've relit an extra ball. If we can beat this mode, we'll get to our second mini wizard mode. Pixel dots myself. Do you prefer the pixel dot mode or blended? You know, I'm starting it with the blended kind of like the better, I guess, supposedly the better graphics mode. But I'm not sure that this is what I really like. Not going to tilt it. Not going to tilt. Or as Mike Meyers said, as the cat in the hat, we came, we saw, we kicked its... Ah ha ha ha. Can't say that this is a family movie. Mike, that live action cat in the hat wasn't for anyone. Just Eric, welcome to the stream. I'll take that. Whoa! That was just mean. There goes the library shot. Woo! Okay. I'll take that. Woo! Alright. I'll take that. Oh my god! We were right there! Did that go away? No, thankfully. That sucks game. Come on. Be a helper. That was the opposite of helpful. There we go. All right. Second mini wizard mode, and we just lit another extra ball. So let's focus on hitting that extra ball. There it is. Got that add-a-ball. Oh my god, no! What was that? What was, it was lit, that left ramp was doing some things. But thankfully we have one more extra ball. And our 101, okay, what is, oh, it's Lupin's Supers. In color and amazing live catch. double flip, the stern Star Trek I bought came with a color DMD and pixel mode and never bothered trying any of the other settings uh text bishop, welcome to the stream I gotta keep looking over I gotta look around the camera I gotta work on the ergonomics of this situation a little bit as mpt3k looping stupid pixel dots myself that's what I use on breakshot you like to see the pixels I'm good with trying it next time that did not get there. All right. All right, play field multipliers. There's two. I think we've got... All right, there we go. We are two chains done. We've got our 2x lit right now. We can hit ghost. Here we go, let's hit Slimer. Get up there, get, get, get! There we go. Alright, now we gotta hit Spook Central. not get it around, unfortunately. Let's try that again, shall we? All the way! Nope. Still nothing. Still nothing! Man, apparently I've got to go from this side. There it is. Alright, Second one on Spook Central. I like Blend in this and Metallica. Here we go. First shot. Up there. That's going to open things up. We did not have Storage Facility lit. That's a little disappointing. Oh! All right. Whatever. Break for beer. Break for a beer. Last person to do something. I think I missed a... This beer is really good. It's a Berliner, kind of sour. Last person to do something was Linus. Linus, thank you very much for that follow. If you're on right now, let me know what your initials are, and I'll throw them in here. Otherwise, I guess I'm going to go L-I-N. Shooter, thank you. It was okay. Would love to have made it to the wizard mode. I'm going to give it a second and catch up a little bit. Twip tweeted today that it's rumored TMNT might be revealed this week. Anyone else here read anything? Double flip, yes. Twip, I don't know who Twip heard that from, but Kaneda has been all over the weekend posting a whole bunch of stuff and information about when Stern might reveal it. It sounds like it's going to be Wednesday, based on the information he posted. So here we... Oh, there is no... I went to go hit the middle button. There is no middle button. 2bill is a solid game, says DoubleFlip. Okay. 2.5. It was okay. I've had better. let's hit let's hit the wizard mode let's do it again let's do it again I hope TMNT is the debut of that feature Kaneda said it's not mentioned in the press release though yeah so what Kaneda it sounded like Kaneda said tomorrow we're gonna the distributors distributors are going to get information about the game and then Wednesday they're gonna do the big reveal and that would be really cool if that was the debut of internet technology in a stern game obviously since p3 did it uh last week uh i think on their on their racing game look at me i'm still if i get close i'm out of focus game camera right here right here just focus gomez talked it he did talk it up he said we were going to do it. I'm like, I don't know, is that going to bounce back over again a second time? Apparently not. Apparently not. There we go. And what does internet connectivity mean for pinball? Anybody know? Cloudy yells back. That's a really good question. And P3 allowed, in their racing game, people who have the P3, basically the same pinball machine, can all play racing games together. So how is that going to be useful in others for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? If I had to take a guess, I would say you could co-op with other people. Right? Like one person is Raph, one person is Donatello, one person is Michelangelo. that's how I would do that I guess let's go up the right chain it is my favorite because Daypuff is amazing online tournaments, automated tournament scoring logs, audits, yeah right Give me that back Give me, give me, give me, give me Oh Ah Yes Yes Dribbled Dribbled that one out That was definitely interesting. I'm... That sucks. Okay. Okay, I'll take it. Alright, so that'll count for that one. I blame myself. The random hero. Welcome. I hope it's not DLCs. I mean, you could look at regular updates we do now as DLC. I agree. Actually, I don't have a problem with DLC. I get that DLC as a whole is kind of a negative, but if you could continually get updates and you don't have to wait years, like imagine Stern were to farm out updates like somebody else could buy the license after they go through their run and then another company can offer DLC updates you don't have to buy it if you don't want to it's updates that they're doing and if that company builds up a good rapport with the pinball community by listening and doing what everybody is hoping to have done and improving potentially on what Stern could do why would that be a bad thing? and if you have to pay a little bit more to get those updates, I don't see that as being awful. I guess it just depends on the cost, and it's really up to the company. If they charge too much, they're going to find that nobody does it. As long as it's actual DLC as it was intended, not this crap of flipstream. Yes, absolutely. If offering up DLC allowed Stern to basically cut it off at 1.0 and never perform another update after that, or release it at 0.85 and let another company finish it. At least initially, I don't think that could be good. Once again, if another company whose sole purpose is nothing but software, I could see that as being okay. Licensing would be an issue with that model. Test Bishop, yeah. There would be a ton of hurdles to get around, But on the flip side of that, any company they set up a licensing situation with could go back and potentially perform updates and offer DLC content on older pins. Can you imagine a World Poker Tour getting a significant revamp? Or some games that just have broken components, let's say. I'm trying to think of an older game that didn't get an update like Ghostbusters. And imagine another group of people who hire really good developers end up doing that. That's not difficult. The only thing people are missing is the source code and, like, access to the SDKs and whatnot that control the hardware for Stern. I see that as at least potentially being a positive. Maybe let's say that. But I'm an optimist. As a person who buys new in-box regularly without actually playing the game, yes, I would consider myself an... Oh my god, an optimist. Basically... Okay, wait a second. I mean, you could look at regular updates we do as DLCs, I suppose, as long as it's an actual DLC. Yep, as long as there's not microtransactions on location. For the low price of 99 cents, you can add three more balls into your current game. Dice. it's funny because that's where I could totally see it going, like the EA model of DLC or pay-to-play kind of content. That said, I don't think the pinball community would accept that just yet. Maybe in another, I don't know, ten years. That's not a new thing. That's why buy a ball is all. Flipstream's right, absolutely. That button on the right side of the pin, on a lot of older machines where you could just buy a ball, I imagine there was a lot of competitive players who were really upset about that. Not really a useful feature for now, but they could also do telemetry to monitor how features on the machine work out and use and adjust future games. Electric Skrill, that actually, that's huge for operators, right? Like, especially after COVID, after the pandemic, operators, everyone's going to be operating at a loss. Think about what an operator needs to do. They have to turn off. If you have games lined up right next to each other, not like I have back here, because I've got a decent gap between everyone, but the way it works at a lot of pinball locations is they just have to have tons of equipment. So they've got them right next to each other to the point where you're hitting hands with somebody else. Post-pandemic, everybody now has to operate, I think, at like max 50% capacity. Some are specifying 30 and you need six feet gap That means that pinball operators are having to turn off probably every They can only keep on every third machine That's probably the easiest way to put it. In order to maintain that six foot of distancing, you might now have to make reservations to go in to make sure that they're not every other game set. No, Midhart, I... from here to here, it is not six feet. Like, that is at most maybe four feet. I think for legal reasons, they're going to have to turn off two games in between, which will be a little bit more than six feet. That'd be more like eight feet. Now, I mean, every business is going to do whatever they want, but I still see that as being a model that is, like, operators could barely keep their businesses going if they were a true operator to begin with. There was very low margins. There's just not a ton of money to be made in coin-operated games like that. So to take and reduce how much money they can make by 66%, that could potentially ruin on-location pinball for a year at least. So I don't actually remember where I was going with that. But I do feel like software and the ability to pay to upgrade and perhaps have a unique version of software that not everyone else has, or just the most up-to-date that offers the most capability. Hey, we've got Iron Man out here, and it's running the newest DLC, which offers up this capability. All that stuff, I think, is really just going to help as a whole, and pinball's going to need it over the next year big time, I think, in order to survive. Companies like Stern have to be freaking out right now because operators aren't going to be able to buy anything. so they have to now be targeting home use as a majority I can't imagine any operators that are like I'm ready to buy the next game right now knowing that they're going to be operating at 33% of what they were beforehand for at least the next 6 months maybe a year who knows when the actual COVID vaccine is going to come out and whether or not it's successful and then what happens if right as that happens, the next mini-plague comes out, and it's worse, and people have to go through this again. This isn't the last time I feel like we're going to deal with this. Anyway, I'm done. Let's see, Pinballer. Pinball Browser allowed that, oh, that's right, changing the music, right, Flipstream, and then Stern just got rid of that, which I think is, I think that's a bad choice. I think they should make it really easy to switch out their music. I doubt that violates any legal issues. It's just, why not let people change the music? I can't imagine somebody on ACDC after a year of owning it's like, I can't wait to hear more ACDC while I'm playing this game. Maybe they are. I don't know. For me, I immediately changed Iron Maiden out for Cake. And then after two months, and I love Cake. I love Cake. In fact, exclamation point Cake. in the chat will show you just how much I love cake. But I was getting sick of cake after a few months. Like, I'm going to get sick of whatever music is out there on a pinball machine eventually if I'm playing it at home. I imagine it's because of the money Stern paid to put that in that music initially. They don't want their investment to be for nothing. I have three mixes for my Beatles on top of the original. Von Pinball, exactly. I have heard your mixes. They're great. You were able to get in there with Pinball Browser, but no more. If you're going to upgrade to whatever the newest rev of firmware is, assuming that rev of firmware is above when they killed Pinball Browser access, you're not going to be able to use any of your custom software anymore. Troll Gazoo, welcome to the stream. The take is a lie. It's agreements Stern makes with third parties that they're not going to allow the software to be changed easily. at all. Like, Pinball Browser, I can't imagine ACDC knows anything or their people about Pinball Browser and the ability to switch out music. More than likely, I feel like, because Stern has a tendency to try and eliminate their competition, I feel like they're pretty cutthroat over there. If you think about what they did with the Godzilla licensing. Just another Pinball, welcome to the stream. And thank you very much for that follow. Just Another Pinball wait, is this a similar name or did Just Another Pinball is this your second time streaming today? Is that the same person? And if so, it was a great stream. It was awesome. Playing NBA NBA Breakout. That doesn't sound right. But that is you. Okay, cool. So if you guys haven't checked out Just Another Pinball, check them out. Super cool. Great stream. Second stream earlier today. really talkative great cameras and solid setup looked really good fast break thank you Jorgazoo could not for the life of me remember and isn't the quick fix just turn down all game volume in the settings and put your own types right like that's that's what I do all the time and yeah that's it if they if they offer up the music attenuation that's great it sucks that TNA doesn't have that capability yet I really really want that ability. Um, and trying to, wow. I, I've had a lot of alcohol today. I'm not gonna, not gonna sugarcoat it. I keep talking and then losing my train of thought. So, you know, let's, let's play some pinball. Okay. Not at all where I was going with that. Nice. Nice. I'll take a shoot again. Seth Bishop says, happens to the best of us. Yeah, happens to me a lot more as I get older. I want a pen that can accept my hit clips and just play the music from it so that I have a use for my Backstreet Boys hit clip. Flip, I don't know what a hit clip is, but I'm right there with you. I would love a pin to be able to play my Pandora playlist or something. Alright, alright, nope Oh my gosh! That had spin and as soon as it hit the Titans It stopped as it bounced And mid-air put the brakes on Kind of like Top Gun That was awful It was like a mini cartridge you put in a fake Walkman Back in the 90s Totally! Oh man, you could play your music like in a car if it had a tape player and it was a fake tape player with a wire that connected to your CD player? Oh, that's totally different. Played 15 second snippets of songs. I have never even heard of that. Were those the things that could only play like a minute of music in low quality? He got them from Tiger Beat Magazine or something. I have missed out completely on this cool technology. I know nothing about it. Nope, nope. Like a single... Oh. There we go. Going up the right side. A commercial in the Discord. Okay, cool. There we go. I just think we all just turn around. Storage facility number two. That hurt a little. Oh, my God. We're cool. We're fine. We're fine. There it is. That shot is kind of hard to hit every once in a while. There we go. We got 2X running, it looks like. I'm still waiting for the greatest 90s super ground that no one has ever asked for. Marilyn Hanson. Give me a ball save. Not going to do it. Tess Bishop says, Krang Bash Toy? I mean, Krang was pretty big in the cartoons. I'm okay with him being the big baddie, especially if he's got a spinny component or something. Oh my god, it gave you that ball save! That was crazy. The game, I feel like, felt starry for me just then. Uh, okay. It's only going to be Krang... What is that? I'm still waiting for... Okay, wait. Group, crane, bash toy. It's only going to be crane and the original walker, not the android body. Okay. I'm good with that. I always thought the human body looking thing was a little weird. Nope, nope. All right, let's just keep it going. Let's see here. Casey Jones will make an appearance. Oh, I hope so. Let me know the next time you stream a verse TNA. I've got one. I'd love to join you. It says, just another pinball. Okay. We're probably going to be doing one soonish. I think Jedi McMuffin only has his for a little bit longer so we may be doing one next week possibly I think this Thursday by the way I'm not playing pinball but I will be commentating on a duel Thursday night between Flipstream and Pinsomniac if I remember correctly maybe we'll see ooh I got it All right, game. Really seems unnecessary to me to go through this effort to make me drain. Nope. Yeah, that was just a complete loss of... complete loss of control, by the way. Go, Ninja! Go, Ninja! Go! Go, Ninja! Yes. I grew up with the turtles. I love it. I want to see Vanilla Ice and everybody breakdancing to Go, Ninja! Go, Ninja! It's all, it's great. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Heroes in a half shell. Turtle Power. It's going to be awesome. It's going to be so cool. Pizza Spinner and Magnet, like, the record and Beatles or X-Men. In fact, Von Pinball played X-Men tonight. By the way, stream looked awesome. You guys, Von Pinball is also, there's a bunch of streamers on here. So if you guys haven't checked out Von Pinball, wait a second, Fliptronic was on earlier. Try to see who Well, yep, there's Fliptronic. And scrolling up. You know what? There's been a ton of chat. So if you're a streamer, go ahead and do exclamation point shout out. On this review. All right, guys. Ready, guys? Let's do this. Zero! Legends! Oh, my God. He just ran in. Well, hello, Mr. Fancy Pass. Speaking about great streamers, you guys, Pure Retro Colorado coming in with a raid and eight new, sorry, six new people. You guys, Pure Retro Colorado is amazing. That is Dave and Alex. Tonight they were playing some crazy shooting platformer thing. I was watching it for a bit. I was more lurking than anything else, guys. I was trying to get some stuff done. I don't know if you can see it. That, I was building that while I was watching you guys' stream earlier, which is really interesting because the Flipstreams, no, that's not right. It is called Nanoleaf. There we go. Flipstream is a character, a person who is also a streamer. Messing up. Let's have a little bit more beer. So anyway, Nanoleafs are meant to go on walls with sticky stuff. And it's meant to go on drywall with this sticky stuff that you typically hang up pictures with. Well, you put three of those on each of the triangles behind me, and then you connect them. The problem is that this is unfinished wood. So I happen to have a giant piece of plexiglass that we used to use for role-playing, where we would put that on top of the mat and then draw on the plexiglass. and I ended up using that so now these guys are stuck to the plexiglass which I have now mounted to the wall up there above the pinball machines I think it looks awesome constantly changing colors at some point we'll get those tied into Roboctopus so you can change them but that's what I was doing when you guys came online earlier I was putting that together because that's a pain in the butt to set up I have just nine panels and that took roughly about an hour Contra and Metal Slug mashup of awesomeness it looked really really cool so you guys by the way if you have not checked out Pure Retro Colorado you should do so also check out Flipstream who will be streaming I think on Thursday night in a duel yeah it was super cool so if you guys are just coming over here we're playing some Ghostbusters trying to get to the wizard mode yet again and we got close once every other game has been absolutely awful but the chat's been amazing so yeah, you guys are making this a lot of fun well there's a glowing endorsement for that product, man it was a pain in the butt to put together yes it really was though cool cool cool cool cool cool cool Cool. I'll take it. I'll take that. Oh my god, just let me have a little control. Thank queue. Here we go. Ghost. Now we've got to defeat Slimer. And how do we defeat Slimer? We bash him. Huh. Those nudges are not helpful. I'm really surprised I still have a ball left after that. That was really, really awful. Any chance of tying your garage door into a box of books? It'd be easy. It'd be super easy, barely an inconvenience. Okay, I think Blazing Star is on Switch. Blazing Star was a Neo Geo game that is pretty dope. Did you buy a Ghostbusters or trade? Pure Retro, this was a trade with some cash, so I got Family Guy and Ghostbusters for Tron and a little bit of cash. what was that like maybe a month ago now approaching a month maybe a month and a week from Rob out in New Mexico super cool guy if you ever meet a person whose name is Rob and he is into pinball in New Mexico you're probably talking about the same Rob I got this from so super cool guy and then I traded Family Guy for and some cash for Black Knight and Star Trek. And that's our current lineup. So we've got Ghostbusters, Black Knight, Attack from Mars' attempt trade with Colorado Pinball. Then we've got Star Trek and Corvette. Corvette will be leaving very likely this week. And hopefully Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in soon. Yeah, it's going pretty well. Hey, George, what did you think about the Ipecac Moda family guy? I mean, I don't know that I played it enough to make any kind of significant opinion, but I would put it up there as maybe my favorite mode on Family Guy. You guys may know that, though. I may have said that once at least. So we're going to go ahead and start that scene. Totesworth. I don't know why I end up finding all of the shots I'm going for on third ball. Okay, I'll take it. I'll take it. I don't know what the problem is. Everybody, we're all good here. We're fine. We're totes fine. Super easy, barely an inconvenience. Let's see here. Oh, yeah, that mode is good. Greg Bondo, welcome to the stream. Pro on T... Oh, definitely pro. Just for cash reasons. I would love to go premium, but I won't get the premium for probably months, and I definitely can't go LE on it. I would love to have made TMNT my first LE, but it's just not going to happen. And let's see here. So will Leonardo's sword be a ramp? Oh, that's interesting. Will there be nunchucks in the game, maybe? Huh. It'd be cool to get a jump rope, kind of like the boxing game I can't think of, but it's really nunchucks kind of going up and down, and you have to get the ball to bounce over it using a magnet to kick it up or some sort of a kicker. I think I'm going pro on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, just because the pro model is usually my sweet spot, and I don't miss the features that come with the pricier models, right? Champions Pub, right? or like the flail, oh my god, Von Pinball. How cool would that be to get an actual nunchuck moving around? Now, that would make the game kind of brutal, and I feel like TMNT should not be brutal. TMNT should be an adventure. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles should be much more like Lord of the Rings than it should be like Black Knight. It shouldn't beat you up. It should be a series of different adventures against numerous bad guys. honestly very similar to Deadpool. George, were you able to get all the way through Jurassic Park? Greg, I never got there. I never got to Escape Nublar. Now, granted, Jurassic Park, I got to within a few shots of Escape Nublar and did not get there. It was so frustrating. But I want to, and it's just a temp trade with Colorado Pinball, so I'll get that back in like a month and a couple of weeks. And I've got there Attack from Mars for right now. Uh, let's see here. As long as it has the van, I'm happy. Oh my God. So Fliptronic, I was talking to my wife the other day. If they, if anybody ever offered like a mass manufactured, uh, version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles van, I would buy it. Like I, I let her know, let's like, it's a thing. I would definitely buy that. I would buy that van. I have a Scion XB, one of my favorite cars, I think because it kind of looks a little bit like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles van. I want that. I want, I just want it. That van is going to be where you lock your balls for multiball. You can lock up to four. Cool, go for it again, right? I will, absolutely, man. Yeah, like, that's, that's definitely going to be the goal when I get it back. I hope it's on par with Rick and Morty difficulty-wise and as addictive. Wind Raider, I wish that I haven't had an opportunity to play Rick and Morty. It looks amazing. And I have one on order. I'm number 367, but I can't get it soon enough, in my opinion. Oh, you may have one at home in Michigan. I'll check with my folks tomorrow. Wait, you may have one at home in Michigan. A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles van? Do you have the box set of the animated series DVDs that comes in a van-shaped plastic case? No flipstream. I do not. That sounds amazing, though. Now that I know it exists, I kind of want it. My wife and I just watched the Turtles vs. Batman, and we loved it. We thought it was great. Get around! Nope. So I can start that scene if I can hit the blue shot. TMNT vs. Batman was awesome. Definitely, no, it definitely was not for children, so that was the thing. I tried to watch it with my daughter, and my wife's like, I don't know if that's a good idea. So we watched it first, and yep, turned out definitely not for kids. Relevant to the stream, I do have the box set of the real Ghostbusters that came in a firehouse. Electric skills, that's awesome. Skrill, I'm sorry. And is that the real Ghostbusters? Yeah the real Ghostbusters Are we on ball two or ball three Starting our first mode One shot. Two shots. We have lift storage facility. Three shot. Mode done. Get there. Did not get there. Got it. Up and around. Start Spook Central. Whew. The cartoon show. The entire set with commentary, which is pretty good. There we go. We've got a storage facility locked. You know, what's really disappointing about this game is there's just the one multiball. Kind of wish there was another multiball. Really? There we go. Loving that shot. Oh, my God. The spin on that was ridiculous. And you can watch Extreme Ghostbusters on Hulu. I've never heard of Extreme Ghostbusters. The sewer was great for training, eating pizza, and narrative exposition. Seth Bishop, very well said. Nope. What was that? There we go. Goes at the Ghostarian. Got a storage facility. Oh, my gosh. What? What is rain? Drop is rain. Let's see here. It was the sequel animated series to the real Ghostbusters. Very 90s. Okay, cool. I got to check that out. and I really enjoyed the second live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Michael Bay movie Out of the Shadows or whatever Fliptronic I walked out of the theater on that one I was hoping for more and here's the problem I think Crane was perfectly like the original cartoon and I feel like that movie was pretty much the cartoon and unfortunately the cartoon in my opinion did not age very well. No, no, no, dude, I get it. They were, there was components to that movie that were, that were everything Nostalgia could ask for, but I think they nailed it too much. Uh, I'll probably have to go back and watch it, but that, I have walked out of very few movies, and that was unfortunately one of them. Could have just been a bad day. I will, I will give it back. Uh, let's hear it. Does anyone think they will do an all-female Turtles reboot? Go. Um, there, uh, they don't even, well, I don't know that they don't have to, right? They, they absolutely could, I guess, if they wanted to, but, um, there is a female Turtle, uh, in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles who shows up in the comics for a while. Uh, apparently there's two different versions of her. There's one that's very kind of awful, and there's another one where she's like a solid character. Get up there! We're cool. We're cool. There it is. Alright, three shots. That third one I feel like is a little rough. Let's see here. Didn't they do a female turtle on that terrible TV show? I don't remember if there was a female turtle in the TV show. Now, I have probably seen about 75% of all of the cartoons, of all the tunes from the cartoon in the 90s. Oh, my gosh. This game destroys you if you miss a shot. It just doesn't handle it well. Or maybe I don't handle it well. Whatever it is. Crap. Crap. Get there! Thank you. All right, we started Gozer. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. I'll take that shot. I, no! Oh, I should have nudged. Should have nudged. Uh, let's hear it. We did the hockey pucks during the Casey Alleyway scene. Hold on. And they were no longer teenagers, and the costumes were so bad, it made Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle 3's costumes department look good. Oh my god. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle 3, by the way, that was the one where they went bat-turtles in time. I still like it. I thought they had the coolest lair ever. the abandoned subway station I thought that was great like if I was ever going to have a lair that would totally be it yeah Not with that attitude. Breakfast steak. I love breakfast steak. Welcome to the stream. All right. Oh, I missed it. Missed it again by that much. Here we go. Let's hit that. Got it. Yes. Woo! Woo! Yes! Okay, first mini... Oh my, don't fall out! Jeez! First mini wizard mode. So we've got 2x running. Let's hit the 3x now. Really, game? Really? Got it. I will take that crappy hit. That's all I'm getting out of it. That is fine with me. Alright, now we need the ghost, which is kind of hard to hit from this side. We could go Tobin's Spirit Guide. Yeah, let's do that. George, I pictured your lair looking like JP's computer room from Grandma's Boy. It's probably close. Probably close. I remember Grandma's Boy. I don't remember the lair. But I'm assuming JP in that was the guy who looked like he was in the Matrix. Thankfully, we got a shoot again. Oh, I've already got the scene start for Stay Puft. I don't even need to finish him. There we go. God, I love, love this mode. Yo, pinball at the zoo! Please give me a multiball. That would be wonderful right now. Stay puff, Marshmallow Man. Color DMD. Nope, it's number two. There we go. That's number three. I mean, we gotta hit a shot here though, right? Mr. Spies, that's much. Attaball is lit! No! No! Adaball is no longer lit. What do we need here? Stay puffed. All right, what do we need here? Yeah. Oh! It popped out of the rim! It jumped the ramp! Come on! We were on the final shot! Come on! Okay, so are you saying that Raph wouldn't have been such a tool if he had a form of release? I'm not sure I want to scroll up to see what that was referencing. He might have gotten into poetry or interior design. Okay, cool. That kind of release. Marshmallow hype. Exclamation point missed it. I know. Now I'm picturing Raph in the trench coat taking a pottery class. Let that be from Ghost. Exactly. Well, Megan Fox. Come on, right? Yeah, I get it. Ugh. All right, guys. It is 12 o'clock in roughly 10 minutes. I very likely will start to lose internet for all of six seconds, which may reset us. Just an FYI, give it 30 seconds and refresh. I'm an outlier. She never did anything for me. Okay. At least your bonus held. Yeah. We're going to get there. Yeah, there we go. That's an omen. Things are going to go so much better this game. So much better. There we go. First scene start. Brutal. Just brutal. Uh, narrator, things did not go better that game. All right, cool. Okay, who brought the dog? Done. Moving on to Spook Central. Second one. Dotted. First pinball tourney in over two months happening here in New Zealand this weekend. Can't bloody wait. Loco Eduardo, that sounds awesome. Have fun. Play the heck out of some pinball. And wash your hands, I guess, a lot. All right. Oh my god. This game is just not being nice. Will Danielle Peck be there? Washing Hands is very in right now. Yes, it's tight. It's super easy, barely an inconvenience. No way! That trick worked still? I did the double plunge trick, and it started the mode immediately. I thought that was fixed. There we go. All right, that game, obviously we're going to take things. Can't go anywhere but up at this point. Washing hands is very in. Sweet. Oh, narrator, things did not go better that game. Flip by flip stream, thank you. All right. I did not I did not trigger that alright, little post transfer and a starting of a scene let's do it we are aligned excellent, excellent oh my god alright, here we go alright on the fly is apparently the kind of shots I need to get much, much better at. Got that. I'll take it. Oh my gosh. That's frustrating. Join the pinball-related chat on Discord. Oh, yeah, that's a lot of text going out on that one. We're kind of all over the place now. Tell them the players from Phoenix Games in Concord are wishing all of the best for them. That's awesome. Little too hard. All the way around. We got Spook Central lift. I can't believe you surprised me. Don't panic. Flip. I mean, you're paying your money. You must be a billionaire if you're wasting your money. Pinsomniac, thank you so much for joining us. And a tier two sub, five month streak, and 14 months of subscribing. The Pinsomniac, you're amazing. You guys, if you have not checked out The Pinsomniac, you should. It streams Wednesday nights. It plays a lot of Xenon right now. You can ask. Doing great things. I am Mrs. Nesbitt. And I think we'll be streaming a duel this Thursday, potentially. That counts. I took a danger. I took a danger. Whew! There we go. Nice and easy. Apparently we have to go back into Ghost, though. So let's grab a storage facility. Can't buy a bucket! Yeah. There we go. I think I was already on a double, so I couldn't hit that again. Wait. Oh, oh, oh. There's a double. All right, we're cool. We're cool. We're starting with a double on them. And the pin summit, any mass hysteria? No mass hysterias. We were really close to... Actually, we had one really good game. We had a second okay game. Okay. Nope, that's fine. We don't... This game... Apparently, we're just going to move on. You guys, also, 1206, very likely about to lose internet because for whatever reason, like 1210 to 1215 every night, I seem to lose internet. And it's either Comcast or Twitch. I'm not sure which it is. It's not even... No, actually, it's internet, so it's got to be Comcast. And no mass hysteria, no... I turned off the screaming librarian, by the way. Any dogs and cats living together? Mass hysteria! There we go. Got that shot. Now for the easy one. See if we can catch this. The easy way, apparently. Not what I meant to do there. All right. There it is. Whew! Second one, hitting Spook Central. Did we miss Midnight Madness? No, I also have that turned off. Because Midnight Madness is a multiball. Like, I can't have a free multiball for no reason. I mean, what if I beat the game on a Midnight Madness? That doesn't count. Okay. All right. Come on, game. Just give me a little bit of control here. Thank you! I will take that! There it is! There it is! There it is! And... Yes! Oh my And we walk the plank. All right. Cool. Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. No doubt, no doubt. No doubt. That's a little frustrating. Whatevs, whatevs. We're doing our thing. We're in Gozer. Let's just beat up on some Gozer. Wonderful. It's great to be so well trapped. Wait. George, earlier, what do I like about this game? Is that... No, that's not what I like. I find that something that's frustrating. George, now I can't have a three-ball multiball? What was that? What was that? All right. Cool, cool, cool, cool. Calm it down, game. Double. That's a double. Let's calm it down here. Nice and easy. Just bring it down. Just bring it down. I'm letting it go. No reason to nudge out of that. We don't want to disturb the game. There we go. I think now we just got to hit some...
