Hello this is Derek Karamanian I with David Marston and we talking about our 2021 artist this year for Pintastic New Robert Englunds Kevin O I not too familiar what he done What has he done Dave He started out back in the time when you colored in between black lines with flat panes of color But he brought in oil paintings as part of the ballet art revolution. Worked on space themes. Kiss is an oil painting. And here, Silver Ball Mania, one of my favorites. but he did have a lot of techniques already in his portfolio and he continued to learn and adapt. Yeah, these are a lot of games that I have seen over the years like Flash Gorn here, Medusa, titles I always loved to play. Now we're in the 80s here. And he had to do some digital techniques but he did keep up with the times. Extremely versatile guy. When he went to Daddy East Pinball, again, original for a while, but then the licensed themes came in. And he did great retro work He known as one of the best retro artists The artwork is so amazing like King Kong here I never played it probably never will He could follow the style guide Look at this Simpsons he just followed the guide Turtles the first one yeah He had some imagination when he could, and when he couldn't, he just followed the guide, used whatever tools and techniques he wanted to use. Look at this, it doesn't show his style, but he could do it, and he could do his own style on Judge Dredd. And movies. Flintstones, yeah. Flintstones there. Photography. images given by the studio that he had to work with or a style guide he had to follow did movies yep with a lot of outer space a lot of outer space stuff and now we're getting into the newer titles um you know with high roller casino and straight pinball yet another playboy again with the style guide for the simpsons and he adapted over time he built up more techniques You still going today? Yeah it absolutely incredible Kevin over the years his work has greatly improved over the years and you know we got spider here it just really great work with Photoshop but it's not just Photoshop he has to make it all work in a cohesive art style package but not only does use Photoshop but he also does it freehand as well and his artwork is so amazing here and we always get a lot of people coming to the art seminars at Pintastic New Robert Englunds because they want to ask the professionals and any of you who own the flyers that we're showing here should bring them to the show to get them autographed by Kevin O'Connor during our autograph session.
