News Barrels of Fun's Next Game is Coming Very Soon; Suzo-Happ to Exit Coin-Op Parts Business?; Lego Donkey Kong Video k knapparcade July 21, 2026 Yesterday afternoon, we got word from Barrels of Fun that it is going to close the window to join its Barrels Reserve membership program. For those of you who aren't familiar with the program and what this means, members of the club are able to purchase a Barrels of Fun pinball machine even if it sells out during the first week like the company's last game, Winchester Mystery House, did. When the program was announced, Barrels stated that it would close the program to new members shortly before it releases games. I can't remember the exact amount of time Barrels said they would close Barrels Reserve for before a game launch, but the period of one week comes to mind. I was unable to find that anywhere in writing. Regardless of the exact timing, a new pinball machine from Barrels of Fun is definitely coming soon. So what is it? For a long time, there was a rumor that Barrels might be making a pin based on the popular LitRPG book series Dungeon Crawler Carl (DCC). That theme has been taken by Multimorphic. It seems unlikely to me that both companies are making a DCC game. I have been hearing from a normally reliable source that Barrels' next game is a music pin. More recently, that person told me that it was based on a band from the 1980s. I have no idea if this is true or not, but this source does have a good track record. Yesterday, Kaneda's Pinball Podcast stated that the game is going to be based on the rock band Bon Jovi. Is this true? I have absolutely no idea, but it does fit the criteria that I had been hearing. Online a lot of people also had been guessing that the game will be based on Bon Jovi or Def Leppard. We shouldn't have too long to wait to see what it is. I'm guessing that we might get an announcement late next week or the first week of August. How do I feel about Bon Jovi as a potential theme? When the Barrels Reserve program was announced, I signed up for it in the hopes that they were working on a Dungeon Crawler Carl pin. It appears as though they aren't. I'm honestly not a big music pin person. I think that I would get really sick of a band's songs if I owned a game based on them. Don't get me wrong, there is some awesome music pins out there. Metallica is amazing, Foo Fighters has an absolutely incredible layout and AC/DC is pretty good, but as far as ownership goes, they aren't for me. Regarding Bon Jovi specifically, I live in their home turf of New Jersey. Their album Slippery When Wet was one of the first CDs that I ever bought. I also once held a broken airplane bathroom closed for Richie Sambora while on a business flight to Nashville (true story lol). I kind of like a lot of Bon Jovi songs, but a pinball machine based on the band would have to absolutely blow my mind for me to buy one. Having said that, it is a HUGE band. If Barrels produces a low enough number a game based on the band, it would probably do fine. I personally doubt that it would sell out in the first week, allowing the Barrels Reserve clause to kick in though. Again, this is all hypothetical because we don't know for sure what the game's theme is. On a personal note, it's funny that we might get two games released next week, right in the middle of the summer when things are usually quiet and everyone is on vacation. I am going to be on a road trip checking out colleges with my youngest son, who is about to be a senior in high school (Man, time really flies). I obviously will write about the new games, but circumstances may result in a slight delay or shorter than normal articles. The good news is that this will end up being a good old fashioned Knapp Arcade family Arcade Road Trip! I've got two visits to huge arcades in Indiana that I've never been to before to take pictures of for everyone. I suspect that I will be able to sneak in one in Michigan as well on our trip to University of Michigan, Purdue and University of Illinois. My sons like big schools, as can be seen with my oldest son who went to Virginia Tech. It's crazy, he's already got his own place and a good job so we won't have the full family on this trip. According to what I've read, a lot of major pinball parts suppliers...such as Pinball Life, have seen the writing on the wall with Suzo-Happ and have been phasing them out as a supplier for several years. According to a post by the well-known YouTuber and owner of TNT Amusements, Todd Tuckey on the arcade website KLOV, he spoke with people at the Company and they told him that they are selling what they have in stock and are not restocking any arcade parts. The two companies that merged to form this one, Suzo and Happ, have been a mainstay in the commercial arcade industry for decades. They merged operations in 2005. For years, the Company was one of the go-to spots to buy arcade and pinball machine coin doors, joysticks, trackballs, power supplies and optical / light-guns.
