or they do and what we're gonna do first we're gonna do some housekeeping before we get into this month and pinball yes tell the people what this month and pinball is so that they at least know what's coming it's a show recapping the most popular and atrocious events of the pinball a couple months ago we did a pin stadium giveaway remember we gave away a pen stadium light set as well as the Orion's and the show has special significance to me he said my wife Stephanie was diagnosed with cancer in November of 2016 her second round with the disease two years and three surgeries later she was finally confirmed cancer-free last month it was a very rough time for us that included my father passing away and watching our only child leave for college there were many moments where I was at my lowest and I credit Greg and Zach talking pinball as a distraction that I needed to stay positive and to keep going I must have rewatched every episode at least three times Stephanie and I came away from the experience vowing to enjoy life more and to do things we always seemed to ever have time or money to do and then he goes and talking about buying his first new box which is fantastic and yeah that kind of stuff Wow holy crap well and you know like it is it's something that honestly we both have ran into a ton of people who have talked to us about scenarios like that you know this is one of them yeah you know I it's not necessarily that it's us it's it's pinball it's a community industry yes it's Alice it's the Hobby yeah art it gives people a way to take their mind and alleviate off the pain and the distractions and the hardships of life and the world will give you yeah everybody's gonna get it and you know I think that inherently a lot of us you know I've met a guy back at Chicago Expo and I was down like 6:30 in the morning 7 o'clock having a cup of coffee and started chatting with this gentleman and I've actually talked to him quite a few times since at some other shows you know and he kind of expressed to me you notice that when I was like do you guys come down here have some coffee play and everything I think yeah he was like you know he's like I don't I don't talk to people either he's like I just don't like it I'm kind of a recluse he goes but you know I enjoy talking to people at these shows in these events yeah and I told her I said I swear to you I said 100% of the same way I said I think that so many people in pinball have that that social anxiety and have that disconnect yeah that that no matter who you are like we've all kind of found in a weird way a home and a place that we belong club a club group is amylin yeah cuz I still don't like to talk to people but I will have pinball people over and I will talk to somebody yeah not just about pinball like I just thoroughly enjoy the people in the Hobby for some reason and I think that that that this hobby and people like us and in the media and other streamers and podcasters everything I think that they do that same thing for people yeah you know I think it pulls them out it gives them a sense of belonging and I think we all feel that and that's why that like I stress yeah but that's my stress the community thing you know yeah like it's not just it's nice for us too because whenever people meet us and so talking to us they might be the most socially awkward person ever yeah they don't talk to anybody but they feel like they know us enough yeah we have a relationship already yep so they've already warmed up to us so it's nice to be able talk and we actually met Craig though we met them in Texas and it was a really heartwarming moment cuz they were enthusiastic to talk to us and everything and it was him and his daughter and it was absolutely fancy that's our all moment thank you thank you out there for all the fans that for all you recluses that's right come under your rock ha ha how about Monday rocks happier things we had to get that all the way how do you know it's gonna be happier let's talk about we've had a couple new releases in the pinball industry since we've seen these people list have we and have you guys put in your orders yet we've got Black Knight that has come out by Stern pinball a pro a premium and le just like Stern always does this Black Knight you know what the UH what the title is Black Knight we'll see if those tests all the rage okay little Irish it's a sort of rage Black Knight designed by Steve rid evil Steve Ritchie right yeah super quick game Tim Sexton was on coke brutal who's on art I don't know this guy bringer we shouldn't save everything nobody's name we know it's like this design by this code by half this guy so if you haven't played this you know as well we can't review it okay you haven't played it yet I've played the pro and the premium they were first shown to be played at Midwest gaming classic in Wisconsin yeah in Milwaukie cheesehead serie Green Bay oh there goes her listener base in Wisconsin sorry shout-out to a kingpin Chris the minier family so what'd you think after seeing this you saw the trailer that they they threw out there you saw the dead flip stream you know I think that there's without getting too deep into it just because of us reviewing we go deep into and I haven't played it yet but you know III I feel pretty good about the people that I've talked to including you okay for a consensus of it being like a good pen bad penny yeah yeah but I'll give my first brief first impressions is that it looked fast brutal as [ __ ] it's not for everyone it doesn't belong in a small collection but it does have its place because of the speed and everything it's fun as hell hmm nice to know it is a summary Oh God look who is it a bill collector look is that what you always do he's probably knocking up at the door good bone outstanding debt so I've played the pro and the premium both are really fun yeah they are ass kickers the pros an ass kicker I didn't know whether I was going to accept the pro honestly because black knights are known for having upper playfields the pro didn't have an upper play field yes and what have you heard of have you heard anything about that we've got people I've heard that the upper play field is and yet it was actually just not like it was kind of a waste then it was not a Black Knight ESCA play field it was kind of thrown in there as an upper play field and it really serves not much of a purpose and there's not much up there to do like you feel Black Knight should have you log balls mom can too so on the Black Knight upper play field you lock three balls I don't know how that works kinda like Total Recall man version the fro is lightning fast I've been saying in the public that Stern's like talking to the public it's you big man well you know I do have a podcast I think that the if Stern feels like they've made to pinball machines here a pro starting feels that where you feel that I feel like Stern has made to pinball machine okay okay thank you for the correction do they made a pro and they made a premium male lead they are different because of the upper play field but nonetheless it does feel like two different games to me are you [ __ ] me I promise you yeah alright yeah I got a [ __ ] word for you yeah because the like the bottom third maybe is similar on the pro in the premium area but everything back behind it is different really yeah you've got two spinners on the pro where you only have one spinner I like a listers or with even more different than Ghostbusters I say even more different Jack is on the prowl you're left orbit you're hitting up onto your wire form whereas on the premium le the left is a drop target instead of a spinner and it pops it up onto the play field hmm that feels different yeah all right loop feels about the same but the whole upper play feels like another little game you've got a loop up there you've got locking balls up there mm-hmm all right it feels different to me plus you have a hold another strategy if you have a multiball on the premium le up top you don't have it on the pro so you're saying what are the rules different it does feel black night ish I think so I think it feels like 2019 black night but I don't know if you need that upper play field like the pros fine bros fun really it's really fun it's really funny know how he feels about the pros I know man and like you know what it feels like the bottom half feels like Game of Thrones to me it's very in-your-face they're stand-ups I mean it's one to kick your ass like a Steve Ritchie game but the upper playfield kind of gives you something else to do I think this is the case where if you've got the money it definitely makes sense to upgrade to that for play field but you don't you know yeah if you don't the pro is saying tell that about every stir yeah well that now the code I have to give credit to the code team and Tim sex and the codes are really fun it's a mode based game but you have multi balls the creatures the animations and black night animations are pretty cool they are fantastic just all might degrade the sound the sound on black night sort of rage yeah that's what Black Knights are known for music renditions are known for the call-outs of the Black Knight yelling at you to take your quarter was a guitarist from anthrax yeah but then I get old it hasn't yet that's solid for you swishes because I will you were like cool with that but now I haven't owned as long as I own the Iron Maiden yeah Iron Maiden girls aren't made for life I didn't like the music department this I really like that I like the Black Knight song yeah like that I like that I do have to say one thing though so you know you know one you're gonna be quiet for the rest of the episode no it's just I have to say now so that we brought up you hate high and made judgment so I was just never a big Iron Maiden thing okay but literally like I listen to Iron Maiden now and like I've looked at tour dates like I will go to an Iron Maiden concert now so kudos to Iron Maiden for selling that light is that with Metallica yeah because now like I'm kind of an Iron Maiden fan where I seek out the music now so at least you've sold one concert ticket by doing that so you're not gonna great little iron maiden up the irons right yeah you can buy t-shirt commemorative every concert ever been to juvie in the blowfish I would go I would go let's go ahead let's go ahead out with a hang head back back hit us up we want to see you guys including it will bring a pinball machine alright what damn straight we'll bring a pinball machine so the the sound there's not really it's checking all the boxes for me I don't know code-wise cuz I did get to the if it's gonna be deep enough I got to the Black Knight already yeah and I don't know I mean but at this point honestly but it's hard to get there I think that like I don't want to say this but it's just like common like you're sort of like I think they're from while you were just like especially Robin Batman 66 days you were just like oh [ __ ] snake you know code it's not I think it's sort of like a donald trump type thing like you've solar full you sort of come to accept certain things now that have become normal that that wasn't normal a few years ago trying to increase subscribers here but it wasn't anything bad i just talked the normalcy of things happening I think when my friend Greg's trying to say is that when ever get better it will get better because this is the sick is that what you're saying about Donald Trump I don't know if it's gonna get better I don't but like and this is the really weird thing this is why that I don't I don't harp Stern so bad anymore it's because Batman and you'll disagree with this okay okay but Batman 66 has become one of the one of the greatest freakin pinball machines it is a code yeah it's solid as hell same thing with guardians honestly our guardians it's not hailed it's like oh one of the greatest but it's a fantastic freaking game apples and oranges there I think one of the reasons the Batman's the greatest cuz the code one of the reason guardians the greatest is layout yeah but code was [ __ ] when it came in okay terrible nobody wanted the game but but I'm saying though it's developed into a game honestly dead pulled the same thing dad you were in love with that I loved it yeah like I will not lie like I have gotten to the what uh the clone of mr. Sinha second mister and blow this son of a [ __ ] up mmm and I'm not tired of it like Star Wars I wasn't tired of it the first time I got to the Emperor but then like sathanas he doesn't have the premium oh yeah guardians is still fun to shoot in his heart but dude you just told him a dude I don't get tired of Deadpool I don't get tired of it I still love to shoot but it's not written I I had us and I won't call him out but I got a super good friend well he's not super good friend he's super good player that's a friend of mine and he was like dude Greg what are you like not really a friend at all it's not really friend all weird acquaintance on Facebook okay so he was like doing guardians or Deadpool and I was like so I said I said you know the Guardians it's got a little tighter shots it's a you know fairly deep rule set so I honestly think that you're gonna benefit more from guardians because you're a lot better player than what I am but like Deadpool to me is sort of what I feel Stern was going forward with monsters to me it's kind of like I feel it's a super approachable pinball machine I have no clue what you're even talking about right it keep going I have no clue I don't know what you're talking about you're talking about Deadpool being like monsters or monsters trying to be Deadpool yeah like you know I'm going to come out with something very 90s it was kind of simplified and one could walk up to and play okay I feel that Deadpool is that game no no Deadpool's got a lot of different depths yeah but it's it's you know that you need to shoot this flashes shot to battle straightforward and easy yeah and then you're lit socks you're just shooting them to beat your people now there's other depth to it that you need to understand but all in all it's a fairly easy shooter and the codes easy to understand how did we get from Black Knight to Deadpool let's you know I don't really know I have no clue back on track another beer okay so that's black night sort song is so much I'm really gonna get into this multiple angles to address real quick yes it's like two weeks ago no but it's gonna be quick and people are gonna people are gonna respect this we should call it two weeks ago in pinball this is go with Greg boom this people bring up old topics and put this back on your plate this is comments that will be respected oh so this is the thing if you get a bunch of people really not gonna [ __ ] out of the game there are are they're not knocking this [ __ ] is strong they're knocking the [ __ ] they're finding problem areas to counteract okay the positives that were talked about by those who play days so this is my initial thing okay I walked in let's go let's go back up a few months back to October with hope we went in and we saw Oktoberfest remember October October we went in we saw yeah I first laid eyes on Oktoberfest I said Wow Joe that is amazing I love this this is neat this is neat man so the thing that I think happened with that is like my expectations were so low Donaire because you didn't know what to expect going over there Oktoberfest nobody knew really what to expect but it was still my ranking at the barrel over there you got to physical ball locks large in the roller coaster the bartender that opens up it's just cool its unique it's very colorful which some people didn't like but I still was just like amazed by so that leads us into the critique I think in the problems that some people had with Willy Wonka I walked into jjp and I was not blown away oh I saw the game and I was just like okay really yeah it was it was I didn't know it yeah it was just like it there I mean you look at the Wizard of Oz and all the toys the sculptures and all the things the house and everything going on you do the same a special with Pirates man the [ __ ] that Eric put in car it's like you know any hobbits a little stripped down but something with the playfield and everything with it it's just gorgeous no wanna see you strip down but I'm just saying it's wide open okay it's wide open is it not it's not cramped yeah yeah I see some of those things is cramped okay okay but was gone but there was you still got a cool dragon the color scheme really filled everything in tiled in dialed in I think dialed in was jam-packed especially the Sun you know you got the chick moving and get the theater and I know you think you'll disagree with this but I felt that it was still a lot to look at you get little drones you got everything going on so then you come to Willy Wonka and a lot of everything is in the lighting scheme to me like I think that I visually thought about candy props everywhere sculpts candy props and toys necessarily toys and mechs that you would necessarily probably picturing the candy room even though the chocolate balls I just handed yes I I pictured all his hops growing yeah any room yes these came the boat Andy yes everything in the can I think that's honestly what was in a lot of people's heads oh so so so they look at the game and they go Willy Wonka this is strip downstairs okay JP JP what's wrong with this but here's the game changer is it done careful game changer yes is it it looks that way but it is pat pat active full of shots Pat packed it full of shots in a flipper shoot yes it's so Sam like it's an art it's you're yelling at these people i am i sorry oh and so it may lack what looks like physical toys and sculpt you know say something especially compared to something like Alice Cooper or something hmm but the shots are all there it's jam-packed full shots it's not an empty game it's not a game that is lacking Plus here is the really big thing is all the people who are seeing a negative stuff about that pen have not shot it hmm every single person that I know or have talked to that has played that game walks away feeling amazed that's a good point I haven't met anyone that has shot the game that thought yeah crap in almost every pin I meet something goes yeah you knows okay Greg Black Knight kind of happen I you know it was good I don't know if it's my taste I like it but yeah you know whatever Willy Wonka literally people walk away going that's fun mmm-hmm that is fun I heard a lot of that from him juicy yes a lot of them yes because it does it is a shoot it's a great shooting game as packed full of shots it's so you're saying
