After years of questionable moves, Atari definitely seems to be getting back on the right track. This morning the Company launched a new line of desktop art and shadowboxes in conjunction with a company called Artovision. The first two games featured in the art are the arcade version of Asteroids and the console favorite Adventure. The desktop art is printed on 3/4” thick optical-grade acrylic with UV cured inks and measures 4 1/2" x 6". The shadowboxes measure 12" x 15 1/2" x 2 1/2" and are printed on 1/8” set in a high quality finished MDF wood frame ready to hang. Atari is charging $39 for the desktop art and $149 for the shadowboxes. They look really neat and would make cool arcade decorations. Back in the day, I would have been all over the desktop art. It looks really neat. These days, I'm trying to collect less stuff though because A) I already have so much of it and B) I want to move in the next couple of years.
