## Transcript

Now who's responsible, I say, who's responsible for this unwarranted attack on my person? I say, I say, I say, pay attention now, boy. This is, of course, Foghorn Leghorn presents the Pinball The Pinball Junk Drawer. You all asked for it, I say, you all asked for it now, you're gonna get it. Boy, oh boy, are you gonna get it. Go, I say, go away, boy, you bother me. Hey everyone, I just, before we start Straight Down the Middle: a pinball show, I just wanted to give a shout out. got an email from decoy or token game element C reminding everyone I'm saying decoy or token game element C because I can't say his last name it's okay from decoy or token game element C saying make sure everyone tunes in for the upcoming PiNbALL DeGENeRaTES Awards Saturday Christian Marche 15th 8pm Eastern standard time live from Super Wonder Gallery in the gorgeous Toronto, Ontario it's going to be the 4th annual PiNbALL DeGENeRaTES Awards aka the Degenis hosted by head degenerate Joe, uh, Cerovino? Yeah, that's probably right. decoy or token game element C. And this year's awards ceremony will be presented in front of a live studio audience featuring a jam-packed night of pin-tertainment, including live variety acts, comedy, music, and a The Game Show with prizes. And the most awards in the D-Jenny's history, hopefully, hopefully the Pinball Junk Tour wins some. If not, that's okay. Make sure you're tuning in streamed live on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch. Be there or be square, as no one says. And that awkward, unwanted crackling in my headphones means it's time for the one and only Pinball The Pinball Junk Drawer. Big Show 67. My name's Foghorn Leghorn. With me, as always, Craft Brew Sally. Craft Brew Sally. Wowzers. It's, you know, we're recovered from the pinball, from the twippies. First and foremost, a huge thank you. we're honored to make the list first of all yes and we're also very thankful some people put us down for their number one listen right not even us no well we did but also there were More Brewing Company than us and those 12 ghost accounts I have and then there was still some no I can't I don't have any ghost accounts but that's really awesome and thanks very much if you did vote for us if you didn't that's ok we'll try and win your hearts this year right please vote for us next year I don't think it matters, really. No. And, of course, the subsequent drama and drama backlash and hilarity ensued. And don't care. It's okay. Thanks for voting for us. We're not really here for the drama. Yes. And maybe that's why we're only getting votes for ourselves. That's why you don't have any votes. That's okay, though. It is. But we were, you know, honestly, we watched because you're like, well, you know, when you know you're in the, on the ballot. Like, wow. Yeah. And maybe they give a shout out or whatever. But, you know, then at the end they publish. And we're like, okay, that's cool. Yeah. Got some. What are you going to do? Right. I don't know. Well, I've gone on air numerous times saying I don't know the relevance of it as far as does it matter or not. But it's kind of cool. Yeah. I don't know. I mean, I wouldn't say don't do them. You know, it's a neat thing. It's something to look forward to. So, meh. Whatever. I dig it. and Colin's doing Colin's trying some stuff I would suggest going to all pre-produced segments and everything though the live stuff doesn't work yeah it's kind of it's a neat idea and it sounds cool but it's it's a lot it's a lot to take on and well yeah exactly production wise it's a lot to take on so it's never going to look like a finished show no you know just have the people you know honestly what you could do is say okay the top three people we're going to ask you to have a reaction video and then when they put it together, then they upload it. So that way it wouldn't ruin the surprise who won because you're going to say, okay, you three, top three podcasters, I'm going to reach out, you guys give us the reaction as if you won, and then you'll find out that day if we're playing your video or not. Right. I guess that's a goofy way of doing it. It doesn't matter. No, I mean, that makes it... Still a surprise. Yeah. Because if you think anyone involved in pinball would ever, ever keep a secret, you're nuts. Right. it's it's impossible it's apparently this group is physically incapable of that so i think that's everywhere yeah it is yeah i'm just harsh on people because i'm always disappointed uh we uh you know well one thing i think might help us though is like we need a catchphrase you know yeah yeah like i think we're gonna be like oh you're spot for all your your snarkiest sarcasm or something like something but it doesn't have to be like real you just say it over and over and over like you just say it every show we just say it so is it the same every show or is it different each show and it has to be yeah you have to like just make it up a fabric like a politician you just fabricate something and then from what i understand how watching watching this in the wild you just say it over and over again and eventually people nod their head and go yeah so like this is the best show for your ears and your butt yeah see there you go and then eventually people will be not if you want to show for your ears and your butt i heard of one and they start suggesting it to friends this is Straight Down the Middle: a pinball show for your ears and butt yeah it's stupid but i don't have we're also going to shout out uh there's you know i have notes one of my notes i don't even know what that is anyway that's why you're not the note taker exactly the note taker you want the note taker you go to pinball The Pinball Junk Drawer no uh big shout out to lumberjack dave oh he kind of made my he made my day when i i got a uh a mess or a image sent to me now lumberjack dave runs the lumberjack Johnny Pinball's he owns them he's him and his wife well it's a picture of a mouse pad and if you've ever seen they're More Brewing Company famous for like otaku like Japanese anime girls whereas the girl is the mouse pad and then there's a set of big boobs and that's what you rest your wrist on. Well he sends me a picture of his wife as this mouse pad and it's the pinball The Pinball Junk Drawer shirt and I was like that's the greatest thing I've ever seen. That was awesome. It was funny. He was like yeah I saw this product and I couldn't get my wallet out fast enough and Nikki of course she laughs a lot she laughs so that it's not a weird thing they're really awesome yeah they are and it made me laugh so much I was like oh my god we immortalized via big boobs on a mouse pad That awesome Yeah Bob Betor watch it I put that up on the store Uh-oh. Yeah, no. We're not going to do that. We would say thanks a lot. Also, the merch is flying off the shelves. We Are Pinball always very thankful when people are buying our stuff. Go to Silver Ball Swag and get yours. I have a pizza maker one, which is just, I don't know why I did it. And then we have the regular one, which is kind of very funky and 70s. Probably because you were a pizza maker. Yes. That got me through high school and college to some degree. That's kind of how we got started. Wow. There you go. So. So many years ago. Yeah. Oh, I know. And we went over to Lumberjack Johnny Pinball's and played Dungeons and Dragons. Yes. What are your thoughts on that? I really liked it. It's a wild game. Yeah. There's a lot going on. Yes. We have to figure out how to get into that co-op mode. Yeah. See, the one guy showed us. And I was like, oh, that's really cool. And then we immediately never figured out how to do it after that guy walked away. I was like, ah, damn it. But, yeah, like, now, again, we don't, I've never played D&D. Shout out my sister and brother-in-law. That's how they met. And that's, I think maybe I said that last show. And Lumberjack Dave. Yep, and Lumberjack Dave, he digs it, you know. So we don't know anything about it, but I understand the concept. So you go up and you pick what you are, you know. And I found, like, a little hairy fat guy. I'm like, that represents me, and pick that guy. And then, like, but, like, there's all this stuff to do, and there's, like, really findable shots. That's what I did. Like, it didn't feel clunky. Although sometimes I was hitting the same shot over and over. That's just poor play. That's me, you know. Like, I kept on hitting that one that goes into the dungeon. Yeah, me too. But I could, or the shop, you know, because you can buy stuff. And, like, it saves you progress. This is a really wild game. Yes. I mean, I don't know how anyone could have any complaints about it. There's so much going on, and it's wild. It's the pinball machine for your ears and your butt. Yeah, there you go. Way to work in our new catchphrase. We've got to make a shirt. Pinball junkyard. It's pinball for your ears and your butt. That's the way to go right there, right across the back. so yeah we we have like and you like you you can as you get points you can buy things in the shop like it is so deep the code is so deep and like i didn't really know how i was going to feel about it because i don't have any vested interest in that but that doesn't that doesn't mean anything that means that doesn't mean you can't use it or you like like something you know there's a lot of stuff where i play pinball i was like well i don't like that thing but i like this game yeah and i I think this one might, I don't know, I think as it matures and the code matures, this one really might take off. Right. This might be one of those top ten games. Honestly, like, it could be. It's really finally embracing the Insider Connect, too. Yeah. Because now, you know, we've seen this, like, mature and mature and mature. They're really growing this Insider Connect. Yeah, and it makes complete sense because we leave our house, even though we have machines here. for badges that we can't get with ours. Yeah. So now you're playing this as your player, and people are going to obsessively work on getting their character stronger. You know, like how they would. If they do have a Pokemon, forget it. The world's going to end. Honestly, all the mate/man in the world will be gone because it's going to be in those machines. It's just wild. I mean, you've got to catch them all, and you're like, I don't have to, but I guess I'm going to. because Stern's going to go, boop-a-doop, time to get your things. Go out and get your... There's one badge for every Pokemon. Gotcha. Go Pokemon. I'll be like, well, I've got to get my Snarka Slacks or whatever. And he'll be like, what was that again? I was like, I don't know. Look at the badge. I've got to go get that thing, whatever that is. I don't know what it is. So it's Papa Duke... It's a fun game. I do like it. I would never buy it because we're not rich. Pokemon? No, no, no. The Dungeons and Dragons. Oh, yeah. but i it's it's not one of our themes it's not our themes but again that thing awesome yeah and that dragon is cool as hell yeah i'm like wow we have to go there when we can spend some time with it like we were there um this last weekend when they were having their tournament there yeah what was it like wpp like a pin chopper or something yeah WPPR (World Pinball Player Rankings points) chopper well yeah i think that's... Womper Chomper? Yeah. Stompers? I remember Stompers from when we were in elementary school. Stop saying words. I can't. My brain doesn't shut up. Okay. Yeah, no. So we got to play because it wasn't in the tournament. I could see this being a super long player. I couldn't imagine what a tournament player would do to this game. Like Metallica. Yeah. You just sit there and watch it forever. You're like, oh my god. I mean, not me. Ask us how we know. Not me, because I suck, but I'm just saying, like, good players would be like, wow. So, yeah, it was a lot of fun, you know. And it was cool seeing it finally. And, yeah, you're right. We'll definitely be putting More Brewing Company mate/man into it, that's for sure. At Lumberjack Johnny Pinball's. Why not? You should, too. Yeah. Oh, and one thing about the Twippies I forgot to mention is, you know, there was some drama like we had alluded to without anything. Electric Bat won. Good for them. They're awesome. And, you know, there's some shots fired. and the guy came out and was like so super cool about it just being like hey you know it's all cool man we're all just here have positive vibes and all that and I watched the video and I was like oh that's really cool and I hit stop and I was like am I inherently a dick because there's no way I wouldn't be a dick like mean you know what I mean like and sometimes that makes the other person More Brewing Company angry being nice or being a dick no oh you're saying like sometimes it makes it sometimes that one person is trying to poke the bear uh-huh and the bear isn't having it oh oh Innovative Concepts (ICE) and that that no that's not talking about this situation no i just i was uh i watched that video and i was like huh yeah cool yeah and sometimes i do think i i might be a dick i'm okay with it i mean at this point am i going to change you know all the therapy in the world isn't going to change who i am in my core that heart turned to coal years ago and now I'm trying to press it into the loving diamond that it is anyway, that was Superman remember when Superman pressed that lump of coal and it turned into a diamond and Superman whatever three or one or nine or six is that really how it went I think so didn he make a diamond I don know I haven seen Superman since probably the 80s Yeah, well. Well, maybe 90s. Nobody has. Just ask DC and their returns. Oh, Henry Cavill. You might save us all. So that was cool. And congrats to Electric Bat. And I guess The Last Arcade thing before everyone's favorite segment is now. Over the years in my life, I've always heard of the ramp or mode name opera that's about pinball, Tommy. Remember ELO? Was it ELO? No, that's the other one. We did two 70s movies. Oh, my God. Our brains are kind of hurting. So we did Tommy. Watched Tommy. Finally, in my life, I watched the movie from The Who about the pinball, Deaf Diamond Blind Kid, sure can play a mean pinball. and I scratched my head and I was like I get it I did love the Elton John segment because that is exactly then they built that Captain Fantastic pinball machine exactly off of that entire scene which is perfect you know and so I dug that and then I was like alright this is really weird but I guess I get it I didn't hate the movie I didn't like the part where they were smashing those old machines I was sad I don't like to see machines getting smashed even like a raven I wouldn't want to smash it. And then I would restore it and make it the best Raven ever. Maybe we should tell the story of this next movie and how we came upon it. Okay, so yeah, that was just for the Ben Heck of it. And then I was listening to a podcast about murder, because I do, and the stalker in this story was stalking Olivia Newton-John because she was in Xanadu. and I was like alright I know of these two words but I don't know anything about it I don't know Olivia Newton-John I mean I know of her I've heard of her of course because of Grease which is one of your favorite movies and then I was like Xanadu and then they were like oh that's a movie about aliens that are muses that are aliens from another planet that like make a nightclub about roller skating I was like well that sounds like I'm going to watch that this weekend and we go to The Local Arcade library which just opened up. Yay for Appleton Library. Very beautiful. And someone took it out. I was like, what are you talking about? What are the odds that Xanadu isn't available? Like four copies just sitting here with dust on them. And a tumbleweed going by the front of them. No. So we put a hold on it. And then we watched this. Uh-huh. Yeah, we watched it. I'm under a certain Opinion Brewing Company that most of the movies coming out of the 70s were Papa Duke much just cocaine-fueled nonsense. And these two movies definitely support my hypothesis. So we watched Xanadu, and we both kind of watched it, and I'm like, what the hell am I watching here? This is really, really hurt my head. But now there is a pair of roller skates in my Amazon cart. Yes, there is. There was American Pinball machine in there, wasn't there? There was. Yeah. I don't know which one. No, no, no, in the Xanadu. Yes, yes, but I don't know which pinball machine. No, no, no, I think that was just a fake one. I think it was just one made up to look like one. It was a, wow, is it weird? And then I was watching and I was like, how the hell did someone stalk this lady based on this movie? I don't get it. Maybe they saw her in Greece also. Maybe he's just a lunatic. Maybe. Maybe, I don't know. I didn't do any psychoanalysis on this guy, so whatever. But he stalked her so bad and got to her so close, she left the country and went to Australia. And I was like, huh. So if you're ever looking to induce a fake drug hallucination, watch those two movies back to back, and you're probably going to go, you're just going to slipstream into a, you're going to think it's the 70s when you stop watching. You're going to be like, where are my bell bottoms at? And your wife's going to be looking up roller skates on this thing they call the internet. I don't know what that is. Yeah, and then she's going to put it in the cart, and then she's almost going to buy it. And now she might have to. Step back and let reason take hold. And that's me talking. So, yeah. I don't know. I'll keep you posted if I buy those roller skates. They'll just show up. So Tommy was an interesting movie. I would suggest that if you like pinball, watch it, I guess. It was like an allegory for the organized religion being out of control. but it was based on pinball, so that's kind of cool. It's a movie for your ears and your butt. And your butt. Mostly your butt. Mostly poo. I guess that's what we're going to give Tommy. Three and a half shiny poo balls out of five. And we're going to give Xanadu, what are you thinking about? Like a 1.139-er in there? I don't know. It's tough to say. I didn't hate either of them. No. I guess Xanadu was just More Brewing Company confusing to me. Yeah. but I guess it kind of was of a time that's where I kind of went with it I was just like both of these are cool that singer for the Who he was as shirtless as like a Van Damme movie I was like wow they didn't even bother he just walked around without his shirt on he's like yeah check me out I think that happened a lot in the 70s cocaine must have just blown clothing right off I don't even think they could put them on I think they just like put them over their shoulders and were like okay it's time for another line yes that's exactly how they used to say it too I don't know I never did coke good for you you used to drink coca cola though so that's the same thing from my head alright no that's not at all do you have anything else for the pinball world before we go to everyone's favorite segment I do not do you know why I would have said talk about Brailey? Brailex? Brailax? Do you know what the hell any of that means? I must have done some coke and wrote these notes, because I don't know what the hell any of that means. While we're on a The Break, let me look at your note. Maybe I can make out your note. Damn you, Brailax from Planet Xanadu. Alright, here's some music. We'll be right back. Crab Brew Sally Child You been to all the breweries around You been rolling all over the town Oh, tell me what to drink until I fall on the ground. Yeah. That's right, people. This just in. Braylex, I must have had a stroke and just kept 'remaking' or 'producing' (in context of Guns N' Roses production run) because that doesn't mean anything to anybody. But I looked up Braylex on the internet, and it's talking about a transparent bra. I don't look at boobies from other women, so I don't need anything about that. All right. So we're going to take you on a little adventure. Who? The listeners? Yes. All right. I'm going to sit back and listen. So We Are Pinball going to go on a Key West adventure with Glenn. Nice. Or S to the third power. I forget. Glenn's fine. So a couple weeks ago, I thought Glenn was going to pinball at the beach in our old stomping ground. So I sent him a message and was like, hey, if you're there, you need to go to this brewery. And he's like, no, I'm going to Key West, which is nowhere near where we were. And then he took me on an adventure through Key West, a beer adventure. Nice. Yes, and it made me sad because some of the places that he had beers from, I remember fondly and am sad that I don't get them anymore. Gotcha. So, he started with a Sun Sessional IPA from Florida Keys Brewing Company. He gave that a B- Alright And then a No Name Amber From No Name Pup C+, And then We had a Red Stripe Yeah, man He didn't rate that one You've had that Yeah, it's okay It's just like, who cares And then No Wake Zone, Coconut Key Lime huh that sounds Papa Duke wild yeah some of those can get good some of them are Papa Duke little too much yeah do you like that one b plus no you must have liked it and then a modelo no rating and then an isla morada ao now these were on the not on the same uh sitting right uh no as i was gonna say over the course have a couple days though. That could account for the no rating. Right. You fall, your phone's in the toilet, you know, you're drunk as hell because you had six red stripes and you're like, I think these are good and you just fall down. And then we had a crazy lady by Waterfront Brewing. He gave it a C- to begin with and then he said he'd change it to an F. So I don't know what that was about. He found like something in the bottom of the can and you're like, oh, I'm giving this an F. Or he was burping it up for the rest of the night. That would be an F. Yeah. Next up, and this one made my heart very sad. Uh-oh. Hop Gun IPA from Funky Buddha Brewery. Oh, I loved Funky Buddha Brewery. Yeah. A minus. Yeah. Funky Buddha Brewery. Yeah. I have a guitar that is nothing but craft brew stickers, and I cleared over it, which I'm going to take that down and re-clear it. I don't like that job I did. But the headstock is the Green Men logo from... That was Green Man, but that was the same area as... No. No, not at all? Green Man is from North Carolina. Oh. That was from... Where's Funky Buddha Brewery? Florida. Oh, it is down there? Yeah. Remember we went to the Silver Ball Museum? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It was over there. I'm all mixed up. And then we had a Corona. Yeah. No rating? Nah. He probably... And he's probably like standard random, you know, normal beers. Yeah. Why bother? And then next up was a Milky Way Martini, which got an A++++. Wow. So I really am looking forward to trying to find somewhere that makes a Milky Way Martini. I don't know. It sounds like a specialty thing from the Keys. There's a martini bar around here, I think. Yeah. I don't know anything about that. Yeah. And then next up, this one made my heart hurt, too. Coral Head IPA by the Tampa Bay Brewing Company. Oh, yeah. B-. I love that The Place. Yeah, that was a neat... We toured there. That was one that we toured. Yeah. Then Iguana Bait by the Florida Keys Brewing Company. A B. A Budweiser. No rating. It's Budweiser. Yeah. Channel Marker IPA was a B-. Yeah. And then Pineapple Queen B+. Wow. Yes. So, now, is he untapped like you? Yeah. Yeah? I think so. Are you guys, like, going, like, head-to-head to see who has the More Brewing Company beers? I don't know. I have to check that. Oh, Innovative Concepts (ICE). I'll have to check that for next time. All right. Well, thanks very much, Skateboarder Glenn, Intern Glenn, Pinturn Glenn, Man With Many Names Glenn, Slippy Slappy. Samsonite sugar me timbers. Shiver me timbers, I guess. I don't know. He just got back from the Keys, so he had to do something piratey, I guess. I don't know. All right. Got anything else for anybody listening other than sorry for that last bit? No. But you should go to projectpinball.org. It is also good for your ears and your butt. Yeah, it is. I don't think they would endorse that tagline. No, I'm sure not. If you're listening, you know why. They're the 501C dedicated to putting pinball machines into children's hospitals, and they're just doing some good things. They have some raffles, get some whatnot, or just give them mate/man. They could use it. And also visit Silver Ball Swag. Yes, of course, because they'll keep making More Brewing Company shirts, and the More Brewing Company they sell, then maybe I can get that other one with our new catchphrase on it, The pinball podcast for your ears and butt. I'm going to start off with that. All right, that's going to do it. Yes. And in the mortal words of Bon Scott, Shazbot, nanu nanu. That's it, man. Game Over Arcade, man. Game Over Arcade.
