## Transcript

we on is this thing on it is on this is the often forgotten never you duplicated we suck at video games we sure do we do suck we suck at doing podcasts about video games anyway This is Big Show 35 of the We Suck at Video Games. My name is Mal. You're putting so much emphasis on that. Well, there's a reason. And with me, as always... Craft Brew Sally. That's right. And this is going to be a little bit different because, frankly, the show, the ATV madness or whatever that we picked six months ago has been sitting there getting dustier by the moment and never put in the Wii. And I was like, you know what? The hell with that game. We're not doing that game. This is going to be a free flow. And I think we're going to just find something we want to play for next time. I think that sounds like a great idea. The problem with doing that, and this is the big problem, is that you'll do all the good games, and then slowly it's all just the worst things. So you have to pepper them in. So maybe we shouldn't pick our favorite games. Maybe we should just pick something that maybe pops into our mind. I don't know. Or maybe like Mad World. I love Mad World. Or maybe pick up, I'll pick one that's like, I know is a tragedy. You know, like one of the worst games ever made for the Wii. So we can laugh at it. Like that's the same kind of thing as a really bad B movie. Yeah. I don't think you subscribe to that. I don't. But before that, we got an email from Joey C. And this is going to be a bit different because this is pinball related. But I do think there's a lot of crossover between the Wii Suck and the Pinball Junk Draw. That's our other show that's very pinball-centric. So here's some information about the upcoming Pinball Degenerate Awards. So you want me to read it or you got it? I can read it if you want. Yeah, you go ahead. Okay. So the Pinball Degenerate Awards will be held on Saturday, March 15th at 8 p.m. Eastern. Live from Super Wonder Gallery in Toronto, Ontario. Our very good friends to the north. This is the fourth annual Pinball Degenerate Awards, a.k.a. the Degenies, hosted by Head Degenerate Joe. I'm saying Cerevino, but I'm just calling him Joey C. because it's easier and I'm dumb. This year's awards ceremony will be presented in front of a live studio audience featuring a jam-packed night of pin entertainment, including live variety acts, comedy, music, and a game show with prizes. And I wish I was there. this is the most awards in D-Jenny's history get ready for surprises fun jokes special guests and a whole lot of pinball degeneracy streamed live on YouTube Facebook and Twitch so thank you very much Joey C we will be plugging your show I know this week and next week we will have our pinball junk drawer we will of course featured on that as well because it's a little bit more geared towards that audience but you never know Boy, the Pinball Award shows are all the rage. And by that I mean they cause a lot of rage. They do. It's so funny. It's just like, I don't know. From the outside looking in, I know. Now, I was going to say, if you're listening to a Wii podcast, Wii-centric podcast, you're used to getting made fun of. So if you're like going, what are you talking about? Okay, now get this, folks. If you don't know anything about pinball, there's a pinball award show. But hold on. You're like, wait, what? There's still pinball? Yes, they still make pinball. It's very popular. It's getting more popular all the time. Yes. And there's a lot of different makers, and there's a lot of different content creators. But hold your horses. There's also rival ones. Oh, my goodness. And then there's spinoff ones that don't take themselves too seriously, like Joey C. There is his pinball degenerates awards. It's funny. It's more humor-based. a little bit more lighthearted, kind of as they should be. Yeah. But then anytime there's one of these award shows, there's like, oh, it's a drama. Oh, my God. Everyone gets all excited because I don't know. I don't even know how to end that sentence. Doesn't matter. Anyway, make sure you're tuning in for the live stream. I'm sure. Do you think they have a does not play well with others category? No. Oh, okay. But we are going to leave that alone. We are. We play very well with others. We do. Well, mostly our cats. But you're not here for pinball. No, we're talking about the Wii here. So we did get some new Wii games. Yeah, see, I don't know if you remember last show. We got a pretty decent stack. We talked about them on air. We got about the same amount. What's going on? I don't know. I'm losing my mind. Actually no I going to use No actually those were found on a thing weren they i found those on local marketplaces as well yeah don worry folks it was still incredibly hard to make these purchases yeah John Youssi something for sale on marketplace on facebook marketplace i'm like i'll look up i always look for wii games because you know we have this show and also i'm dumb and i'm like oh hey i see you have these couple games for sale and i i'd like to come purchase those then you won't hear anything or then you'll hear like week back you'll be like oh well i'm gonna be in cincinnati does that help you you're like no you i live i live in greenville wisconsin and you're like oh well okay then you have to figure out a time and then it's always like oh i put them in the in a bag that's hidden behind a vase that's on a porch it's my neighbor's porch and then put your money five dollars in this envelope and you have to self-address stamped and then you give that to a mail carrier and he knows, wink and nod, and then he'll take it around the back and put it in a different spot. And you're like, oh my God, can we just stop? And they're like, no, we're not going to stop. It's only going to get worse. Why do we even do porch pickups if there's all these rules? Well, I think, I don't know. The one that I got was really weird where it was like, don't put it in the mailbox. You have to put it in. They had an envelope just for me and it said like Wii games and then I had to put it a certain place. I don't know. I'm wondering if they got talked to by their postal carrier. Maybe. Sometimes like. Maybe he thought it was a tip. Yeah. And someone took it. The mail carrier. That's a joke. So I don't know. It's very. I get the. I mean, I guess I get it that you don't want. Like porch pickup made it very easy not to have to have any communication or anything with anybody. yeah but then it's also like i don't know man i think it became popular during covid i think it was the reason it started but it became popular because humans hate humans all humans hate all humans even the nice ones that pretend they like humans they hate humans i like humans no you like them so you can make fun of them either in your head or with me or with the cats and you look at it you hear that jerk look at her stupid hair and that dumb dress you know all those things because humans are vile and rotten at their core and don't let anyone tell you any different anyway mish bell just came so that you and i can talk about you exactly she's like oh he's such a meanie and he has such a bad temper and not a temper i don't have a temper so i'm very kind and an overflowing fountain of human kindness most say and very very very patient patience is almost a virtue that's like unheralded even but dalai lama's all like man i gotta i gotta text him and find out his key have i ever told you the story about pinocchio oh wait hold on there's some reason i can't get to my phone my microphone anymore i kid no me too so okay what were some of these marvelous finds we got so we got shimano extreme fishing. Okay. Yeah. There are several things wrong with that. Shimano only belongs on a bike. Right. And the other two things are, you know. Extreme and fishing. Uh-huh. So you think people are like shooting at you or like there's like naked girls and they're like their fire is going off. It does have on the front a fisherman, an archer. Oh, wow. And this looks like a scuba diver. So I'm not sure. I know people, some people fish with dynamite. That's kind of extreme. They drop it in and whatever floats up, that's what they caught. Oh, sugar. So, yes. All right. Moving on. Yes. My Sims, Sky Heroes. Wow. Yeah, sure. Moving on to heroes, we have Real Heroes, Firefighter. That looks scary. Yeah, I know. I don't know. Yeah. We'll see. All right. And then. Maybe I can get, like, my work is really into, like, safety. and we always have to do this stuff with the fire extinguisher, maybe I can bring that in and say, look, let's just all play this for five minutes each and then we'll be qualified to be safe about fires. And maybe you could have your friend Elle play the game and tell us how accurate it is. No, her nickname is Hot Rod. Hot Rod. Yeah. So maybe I can get Hot Rod to come and say, oh, no, this is realistic and this is dumb. You would assume a game that's about firefighting would have consulted some. Some actual firefighters? I have faith. Maybe. We'll see. Okay. Next up, DECA Sports. Ooh. And I was excited about that until I. And there's curling on it. Aw, man. I was excited about DECA Sports until I read the review, and I was like, 1.5? That sounds pretty. Ooh, dang. 1.5 pops in my ears. Yep. Ugh. So, yeah. I don't know. Maybe. I'm still holding on. Curling. How can you go wrong, right? I know. There's a curling facility locally. We should try that sometime. I have a feeling I would ache on all different kinds of places. Yes, you would. But it would be fun as we're doing it. Do you have any curling that doesn't involve ice? Or rocks I guess a bar Do you have a bar around here Because that where I going to go Okay Instead of 12 ounce curls Yes Go ahead Big foot collision course. For all the other answers from the other Bigfoot ranked game we have. Bigfoot was very prominent in the Wii world. I think he has like eight games. Huh. You should see if Bigfoot will autograph that. I'm assuming he's become sentient at some point. Hmm. Yeah. Okay. The truck comes up and he's like, oh, how was your door? If you sign my Wii, I can't do a good truck mimic. Okay, go ahead. All right, next up. Madden 2009 All Play featuring Brett Favre on the front cover. Now that's an autograph we might be able to get. Maybe. Yeah. All right. Dave Mira BMX Challenge. Nice. I think this... No, maybe that's the GameCube. The GameCube has one called BMX XXX. It's real risque. I don't think it's really XXX rated. Probably not. It's probably stupid, too. I might have it. I don't know how it would look. What else do we got? Anything else? Oh, yes. Oh, my gosh. Army Men, Soldiers of Misfortune. That looks fun. Yeah. Maybe that's the game we need to play this week. I don't know. We'll put that one aside. Maybe. Next up, Deer Drive. I don't know why I got that one. Yeah, I know. And Jeep Thrills. Yes. Yes. Jeep Thrills, everyone. All right. The Price is Right. Price is Wrong. And last but not least, Sim Animals. Sim Animals. All right. yeah that the bmx triple x is for the gamecube playstation 2 and xbox what was that last one sim animals sim animals that's gonna be weird so there you go i mean more that put us on what did i say we were at like i just had it up i think we have like 385 or 400 did we break 400 finally i don't think so this may put us there because we this is 12 new ones yeah let me take a look here while you can. Are you excited about any of those at all? Well, I kind of. I'm not excited about the deer one at all. 403 games. That puts us over 400. Wow. It's a lot of Wii games. I don't know how many are worth anything. I'm assuming not many of them. That one that has those three horror games is still hanging around out there. I know. I still want to write them and just be like, look, if you'll ship these to me for $90, we've got a deal yeah but i don't know man yeah it doesn't hurt to ask you could just say no or just no he'll just ghost me and then we'll pay him and then we won't get our money our games back yeah we might have to do this one which one's that army men soldier of misfortune maybe if you think so looks like a shooter game no promises but we'll see yeah you know now are you i guess in early April they're going to have the actual like press release for the Switch 2. Nice. And I know generally speaking as soon as they do the press release it's available for sale. So are we going to pre-order this somewhere? You got any leads or any ins? I really don't. I guess we could do Target. Yeah. But if we do Target it's not going to be there for three days. Right. Which I guess doesn't really matter. I don't know. Right. I wish our friends at Press Start would sell new stuff. Well, they do, but I don't think that's where you'd go anyway. Like a retro place, you're going to just go, you know. I guess we could just do Amazon. Yeah. We have to look around and see if there's any like bundle rooskies or Yeah. Anyway. Good. So, yeah. We'll probably just do a dumb old Prime or something. Who knows? Well, we'll look and see. Because there's also... We get that discount at Target. Yeah, that's true. Anything helps. You know. We'll look for the bundle rooskie. Yeah. Hopefully some nugs. Yeah. I have been, another quick update for the Wii. I have been pretty faithful to the Wii Fit. You have. Day like 34 or something like that. Nice. And some are hard. I've been unlocking things. And some I actually like. I think there's one that is like a planking thing that I can really actually feel work. And in your core muscles, whatever. And then also the lunges one I've been doing a lot. Oh, that one sucks so bad. It hurts. It does. I've been going, I've been like down really deep now. you know and then uh some of the yoga stuff i did finish the that's one that was so hard i wanted to finish it so bad i finished it twice now that that ball oh my goodness yeah you're in this little bubble and you're like going through this canal and just anything you touch pops do you know which wii game that makes you think of what's that super monkey ball super monkey ball you loved the super monkey i did we played that a lot you played that a lot i watched you play that one yeah yeah so it's I will still say you know this is one of those things where it hasn helped me with weight loss but I do feel better doing it yeah like I do it every day Not every day but most every day And I just do There this one like extended step one that I pretty good at I like doing that one. And then you get so upset if you miss. I know. I'm trying to get the perfect score. And, you know, it's just one of those things where you go, well, I don't think it's possible because it missed. I'm doing and I feel like I'm doing it. I'm missing it. It's weird. But anyway, mostly it's pretty receptive. amazingly still in the same set of batteries from when we started this 30 some days ago right i'm starting i think to recycle their rechargeable batteries is like a scam it is a scam because these triple a or double a's have been the same ones i think these are the the we uh uh battery rechargeable batteries that we got aren't just like rechargeable batteries they're junked they're like the back part of the wiimote yeah so i think that maybe we should have just tried rechargeable batteries yeah but at this point why there's so much better i know you know my god it's just i couldn't i've been astonished at how long these batteries have lasted right because i checked them the other day when it missed when i was doing my stepping i'm like well it has to be the batteries and it wasn't they hard they're hardly even down at all yet I'm like wowzers. Yeah, that's awesome. Yeah. I think I still have a bunch to unlock. I know like the strength training, there's just some I can't do because I'm on, like I don't have that yoga mat. So like it hurts your knees and your elbows. We have one, don't we? I don't know. I think it's, I don't know where it is. I thought we did have some somewhere. I saw it in my mom's room. I don't know. Maybe. Who knows? But anyway, that's been going good and I do still definitely recommend it. It's a lot of fun. I have a lot of fun doing that game. and at least I'm not sitting. Yep. You know, so you're doing stuff and you're like laughing. The hula hoops one is funny. And it's getting warmer so I'm going to make you start walking outside with me. Nope. I'm going to take the Wii Fit with me. I'm just going to do, I'm just going to step, I'm going to run down the end of the road and I'll do, I'll just do a step aerobics on that board and then when you catch up to me I'll run to the next thing or I'll get an electric scooter and I'll scoot it out of the next thing and then I'll do the, the Wii board walking at the end of each corner. Oh my goodness. And when you catch up to me I'll be like, well, I don't like this whole earth stuff. I like things in my living room only. The outside world scares me. No, I kid. I kid the outside world. So, I don't know. That's all we've been doing. We've still got a bunch of more Switch games. I keep ordering those Switch games and those compilations and stuff. I don't know. We're at a lot of those, too, aren't we? We're at like 150 Wii games or Switch games. I don't know. You're in charge of the thing. I don't. You don't care. Why would you? It's all nonsense anyway. Switch games. Looking, looking, looking. 152. That doesn't include the one or two up there already. Wow. Anyway, I think that's going to do it. You got anything else? We're looking forward to the Switch 2. We are still out there shaking trees trying to find used games. I don't see how people have like... I know that some other people in the Wii group have like 500 and 600 games how how do you find them how do you get those like like if we went to the retro game store oh we could probably pick up the list we'd pick up like 60 50 or 60 that's that puts us still at like 450 like how do you get 600 games or a thousand games well you go to all of the stores and buy all of the ones that you don't have i guess i don't know yeah i guess getting because there's like 1200 and something i forget what the number is but it's like there's like 1280 games and i'm like how do you do it like if you're dedicated to it i guess you just like you're saying you just go do it like those that what you call it that game that show we watched about oh the nintendo guy where he was trying to go yeah you just go to every single one of them and buy what you don't have i guess yeah trying i can never seem to work a deal but at retro game stores you're just paying what you're paying anyway so i don't care. You might be able to talk to somebody. I mean, but we don't haggle. No. We're not hagglers. I'm not very good at it. That one that we go to, what's it? Press Start. Yeah, Press Start. He seemed to have a lot more the last time we went. Yeah. And I bought a lot and I could have bought like a lot, lot more. And they're moving too, so we should go check out their new place. We should go check out right before they move and say, hey, you know what? If you want to make a deal on all the games I need for the Wii, that's a lot less you have to move. Wink, wink. they're moving like 10 feet I know you can still try and work any deal you can alright I guess that's enough of this nonsense do you have anything else before we split on out of here are we going to pick a game or are we just going to surprise everyone next week by actually doing a game this time alright and that's going to do it alright we'll see you next time same WeBat time same WeBat channel that didn't work at all but I'm sticking with it Oh, even better than Mama! That's it, man. Game over, man. Game over!
