for a little piece that we did about the secrets of the upcoming year the rumors the speculation I like rumors uh the the dirty behind the scenes facts and speculations so uh I figure why not roll in the mud again this year and talk about 2024 what's coming reportedly uh what rumors we're hearing and some of the the dirt and the the sleazy stuff that's uh I don't like rumors really I like rumors but I don't like rumors are your curtains dirty yeah need to wash them [Music] I don't like rumors because it gets me excited about something that might not happen and then it disappoints me cuz then I start getting this uh builtup imagination this fantasy of what this once you once you build a guy up you know you're getting laid for your birthday and then your birthday comes and you're all geared up yeah somebody's got a headache yeah or my wife being nice to me sometimes I makes she be nice to me and then she's not like it's my birthday yeah I'm always like I'm so excited for you to come home then she walks through the door God damn it what are you doing like it's going to be night I built up this imagin like a you're like it's Veterans Day she's like but you ain't even a veteran so I still support the I got pts from your ass like now last year during the segment that we did we we did pretty well oh we were pretty good we did pretty well nailing what the rumors and what games could be coming out this year a little bit more tricky though gray we don't know for sure like you know not that we knew last year but we we had some good indications last year this year people are keeping keeping tight keeping a lid tight lid well it's getting more competitive I think they have to I think companies are getting a little more oh more lock down oh knock it down that's right so what do we want to start with what company we want to start with do you have any choices any options here what do we want to go with oh we got to come strong out of the gate with Stern Stern Stern okay love you Stern last year we got a lot of good games yes we got a lot of surprises last year too with REM uh them doing special editions and stuff like that uh do we do we see any more special editions this year I I think there's a possibility strong possibility elvirus blood red kiss Edition that popped up we're were like where's that coming from we had Jurassic Park last year 30th Anniversary what in the world where's that coming from as the market kind of fluctuates and when the market goes down Stern pimble I think is smart and they're going to uh reup with something that people like that maybe they didn't get 1,000 L of in the past very true let's make a maybe a Godzilla Anniversary Edition that's one of the only ones I could see cuz I think it's anniversary this year oh is it I think so oh that would be actually pretty cool different art package that's what I'm saying especially maybe all black and white no I wouldn't want that black white I know but I wouldn't want it all in black and white for some reason I don't know why no I don't know Godzilla's one of the only things that I could see that would be I mean because it was such a big seller yeah that's one of the only ones but I am ready to see other artists have done this uh monochromatic uh art displays and and theming I'm kind of ready to see a zombie Yeti cuz we we know him for his illustrations and his colors yeah I'm kind of interested to see what he can do with some shading and some black and white and some grayscale kind of stuff maybe pops color little Sin City stuff there I don't know that game just doesn't do it for me like like I I loved elv elv looks good and the blood red but I don't know monsters looks good monsters looks good but this just and frch I know but something something about Godzilla is so colorful it's so beautiful there's just something it just doesn't I I don't want that taken away from it I don't want that I don't want that like that I could just see a reenvisioning of it speaking of stuff coming back that we're used to there's some Rumblings around the industry and around the community about uh Metallica oh yeah oh oh again though man I'm going to argue this and I know that it's it's hard it's an entire like I would assume I don't know I I don't know enough about it I still want them everything that they Vault from here on out I still want it to go to an LCD I know that that requires more work on that it's not just a simple Vault I know that you've got additional coding you've obviously got to get different rights now to uh Metallica music videos and all that stuff but man like how amazing would Metallica be to take it into the spike 2 era like any of these games honestly how about taking it into the spike three era what yeah what yeah blew your mind right there yeah uh 2024 we may see the likes of the new operating system from Stern Pinball that is Spike three what is the purpose what is the purpose yes bigger better stronger faster Greg what's the purpose of going from a DMD to a LCD well better that makes no sense maybe a bigger screen maybe quicker uh maybe a quicker processing maybe more an ability to carry more more mechanisms uh stepper Motors more more coil integration more light there you you can only get so far maxing out on a spike too the only thing again I I don't know that I'm wondering how much they're hindered you know like uh you know like a gaming system how much are they hindered graphically by what they are able to create absolutely they are with Spike system there are limitations I've heard from this company from C pinball from the creators there are limitations I think it might have been was it Dwight sorry to call you out Dwight somebody was telling me it might have been a Cod or something they're limited Spike has only gotten them Spike 2 has only gotten them so far yes and they are already into this next system working behind the scenes on this next system do you think we get a larger screen in a spike 3 no no I don't think they'll change the screen I wouldn't mind seeing it larger you think so oh I would like to see it larger most people say that they they don't need that full 27in screen like a jjp but I like it I do like especially with some of the titles they get that's the thing is I mean you you take some of these titles like I would be floored to see some of those on a lot bigger screen back to back to Metallica we know that Metallica there was a dirty Donnie art home brew yes before Metallica came out because Metallica I forgot which band member in particular Metallica really likes pinball yeah so they really wanted pinball word on the street says that Metallica might be going to this new Factory checking it out and saying hey guys hm H I would love can we do this again now does that mean we're going to get a brand new Metallica game on the spike 3 system or does that mean they're going to redo the DMD I don't see them going back to DMD either oh I don't when the last time they made a DMD Vault or redo Iron Man Vault Iron Man would have been what was that 2020 2020 be at least three years ago yeah I don't see them going back and if they do go back they sure as a hell aren't going to bring a red DMD so then they have to program all the color and their own proprietary color display man I would love to see see it I'd love to see people are hollering and wanting Tron legacy people are wanting Lord of the Rings to be redone oh I still I don't see it in 2024 no not in 2024 but so yeah I don't want to waste time on that Metallica could be good the other rumored games now I don't know depending on when people are watching this the the heavily rumored game is Jaws jaw's coming out Keith Ellen's next bit we haven't seen Keith Elin we saw him last year for the special James Bond 60th but we haven't seen a Cornerstone from Keith Elin since Godzilla which is kind of weird honestly that's a long time now you really think about it like that's insane really just the way he was cranking games out and he's got them done yeah like that's that's that's actually interesting I mean time goes by F like I didn't really think I've heard that the uh people are watching after uh the their next release they may already know it is jws but uh I've heard the next game Cornerstone from Stern Pinball is going to be ginormous like it's going to be a huge seller it's fantastic and mean I feel like everybody's owned a Jurassic Park or Jurassic Park is one of the greatest selling St pimo alongside God so that's what I'm saying and it didn't have to have the assets and it didn't have to have the characters Here Comes Joel so another rumored game from Stern Pinball possibly in 2024 it's going to peek its head around the corner John Wick Keanu Reeves I'm just glad getu in a in a game now is that my favorite IP that Keanu is featured in no no but I like it could be fun it's action-packed yeah that's what I'm saying it could be it could be a lot of fun it could be I I want I just love Pio so it's like I I'll take anything honestly like I still love people love that whole series The John Wick series the first one I thought was great yeah second one was pretty good but it wasn't when I still even go back by four the four was so terribly hokey and Goofy like it but you know what's crazy though GRE give me the theme of John Wick over Godzilla honestly oh yeah theme wise 100% an old lizard that was before my time and once [ __ ] ke you you do that you do that well like I like that's yeah they could have done speed they could have done Point Break they could have done Matrix they could if we're talking Keanu man you speed speed wouldn't hold son of a i no I want it I'm saying I'm saying from a cell standpoint uh Point Break would be kind of cool but it would be kind of goofy it would be goofy it would be goofy uh so I mean this makes the most sense and I mean it's still a popular franchise it's still you know it's still good okay honestly I can't believe speaking of just ridiculous things like that that do really well I'm just surprised they never did a fast and and Furious yet yeah I mean but I would be a little I think we got to the point of nostalgia that it may work we're getting closer when you have like 14 movies it it it was popularity oh yeah you don't want to have all the no I that might work Universal Studios is still cranking out fast and furious like at the theme park stuff right yeah they still got a ride it's okay ride ain't great oh yeah you wrote it so we see that we've also heard of Pokemon yeah I think that would be big I think it would be big I do too there's still a ton of of kids I mean you're really going to get that youth you're going to get that that you know particular generation in there honestly probably going to grab a lot of people from our generation too it's an odd thing absolutely I've just never been I've never been a I've never been a Pokemon F I've never been a pokem man no yeah pokem man like I don't understand it like I I don't know why that I I never gravitate cuz I gravitate towards anything nerd uh you know everything else but yeah like yeah I was never into magic the ga oh I loved magic did yeah I Lov magic but that's what I'm saying and there was an old Marvel game um what was it power up or something I used to play Yeah but Pokemon just never I don't know something just never resonated with but I'm agree with you I think that if it's true like it could go over I think Pokemon EX Pokemon would do fantastic on the spike 3 system on Insider connected collecting cards collecting Pok transferring them between internet systems yes see Insider connected on that could be crazy and the the peak of spikee 2 I'm afraid probably is limited by something like the inside me a city I think that's maybe what is needed in a spike 3 to get to get that Bo some of that upgrade so I think Pokemon with all the uh enhancements and all the additions that you could do with downloadable content and stuff I think maybe we see that on a on a newer system other little rumor titles from Stern Pinball we taking so much time on Stern because they are the big dogs uh things like Dungeons and Dragons I've heard I mean there could be some you know pretty good okay all right my son would like it I know I think there's quite a few people that would honestly be I just don't know how hot it it would have to be very it would have to be very um it would have to be something like Godzilla that really grabs everybody you know that kind of that medieval kind of feel you know what I'm saying to where it would appeal to everybody I think if they did it like cuz Fighters I didn't care anything about we talked about that last year on this um I didn't care anything about that theme but they made it into a story line with aliens and illustrations that made it cool yes what I'm saying they did that with Dungeons and Dragons and yeah yeah it's something that that gives a Mass Appeal to where but it's still got a recognizable name cuz you don't you don't necessarily care about the name and everything but it's always it's better than an original title because you at least know Dungeons and Dragons so I think I think I think there could be a good selling point what about He-Man master of the universe man I like he man I think that's big see I think that's big I think it Go skull right in the middle I think that's huge that's a good theme for pinball I would just yeah I mean you got you got to have some good toys in like that you got a lot you can really do with that uh that would be freaking pretty cool yeah and we know that we're going to get St sterm pinball always does it we're going to get probably a Marvel another Marvel I don't know if it' be Spider-Man again I would I wouldn't mind into the spiderverse I wouldn't mind taking another SP a hot title uh and we know we'll probably get a Star Wars again they have a really close does that mean uh Ahsoka what we I don't know I don't know what the next Star Wars big push series it could be fun it would be but Star Wars possibly again uh and then we know we'll get a music at some point I've heard I've don't think so like I I don't know I mean I mean I you see crank out games everyone there can crank out a game let's let's play and maybe they're already working on it let's play we're pretty smart at pinball okay we're we're in the industry we work this is our jobs right yeah so we had who does a Harry Potter pinball machine I think if anybody was going to design it they would give it to minor oh a th% they would give it to minor right he's kind of the lead designer at that company yes all right and he's kind of known for toys mechs coming up with that's right we just had we just had Elton John with Steve Ritchie prior to we had the Godfather with Eric Minor so next up I think is the new guy mariden that's what I'm saying so yeah I'm kind of with you I don't think Harry Potter is next I think it's a 2025 release they got two games out last year it depends like unless Mark siden is just a knockout it's going to take a year to make these things when we started when we started hearing that rumor I mean that's been a while now that that was all kind of letting over the Internet mhm so I mean if if Eric was already working on or started at that time uh end of year release next year that's that's that's that's doable doable I look what they did for exposition it is doable they it felt like they pushed out Elton John yeah to hit Expo the only okay here I'm going to actually throw something another I'm going to throw a wrench throw stones a ren I think listen Dodge a ball we're pretty good about like we've learned we've learned because our sources within companies and everything like we we know that licensing is just a pain in the ass anybody you talk to it works at one of these companies that has anything to do with licensing Looney Tunes trailer Warner Brothers yes it can be a nightmare so I would assume that Harry Potter being as hard as it was to get it everything that went on to try to get that license as long as it took that has got to be a licensing [ __ ] nightmare Absol that would be the only that's what I'm saying like that would be the only thing to me like let's just say that the a can crank it out they've got it done I just licensing we've seen can take forever and I would just assume that that unless they just hit everything perfectly would is what could drag that out and make that a 2025 release is because of the licing that's true the delays in LIC man you're on it to that I think it's a really really good point um damn I know that's why I only that's why I would still go with maybe that's a we're keep line going though we're getting ahead of the they got to keep the line going not say they don't have other them other okay but would that squeeze in we're gonna have another Steve Rie they only have three designers I don't know uh Harry Potter I there have been Rumblings and uh Rumors in the community saying it's not Harry Potter films yes I heard that too it's like the legacy of Hogwarts just just the the the theming of the World of Harry Potter don't you try to sit here and look up for that it's a bad idea Harry Potter not I don't even want the Noel I'm not saying that it's Dana Radcliffe [ __ ] Harry Potter that's Harry Potter I I I would Emma Watson her Mighty that's what it is I'm not saying that I don't want that what I'm saying is and I'm not saying H grber Snape I'm not that's what it is I'm not particularly even saying that I I'm okay with it what I'm saying though I'd play it nobody nobody wants to pay the money for the movies I'd play it though I'd still play it and it would still be fun if they do it right Galactic tank force you have to do it right you have to do it right and you would still feel good oh stop at the doing it right you're looking up for it now no I'll play it and I'll play it with a with a frown on my face I mean I had to play Jurassic Park don't you make fun of that Jurassic Park play Jurassic Park I'm not even saying Harry Potter's a dream game of M but I love that theme oh it's a dream theme for me I love that them man but there's and I I love George Fisher with Don't Panic flip he's a streamer and he uh he always argues with me and he has fun he's the sweetest man ever cuz he was he's really open to uh the novel he's like no do the novel The Novel is where it's at anyway it's better than any of the films films are great but it's better and I'm like George Don't Stop what's he talking about like the imagining like doing like all Illustrated yeah think about the the artwork on the illustr that's what I'm saying like on all illust and follow the more the uh the storyline of that look a little bit books are so much better man they hack those movies to Pieces oh but no I mean you know what I no I know no no I couldn't do that George I'm s yeah I actually couldn't Studio Theme Park do it around the novel that's what I'm saying I I I I could do without the characters but have the world that's the one thing you don't understand is that world is so immersive and it's so unique to itself and there's so many people that are buying robes buying their own wands they have different wands for all kind but what I'm saying though is like you feel like you're a wizard in that like like so many people I think that are are are that love that franchise and everything they feel like they're a part of it so that's the only reason I think it's so immersive and it's so large and it has it has taken on its own entity that you could get away with doing a Wis in World of Harry Potter not just Harry Potter for that reason because you you you just love everything the moving staircases you you know you just you the only way I would be some of you know what I'm saying the only way I would like I wouldn't happy about it the only way I'd like a witing World of Harry Potter is if it's still is Daniel Rad it's it's like the theme part where you still get the storyline but you still get Radcliff you still get all of the the film characters that's it that's it here's the big bger question can you make that into one pinball machine can you really let's say you get the film for argument sake let's say you get the all the film license all 78 movies can you cram that into one no wouldn't it be cool if you crammed it into three that's and then wouldn't it be cool if you developed your internet connectivity that you got rid of scorett you come out with that and you get into a wizard mode on one and the only way to get into the grand wizard mode is to have your you're connected and you have wizard mode on all three games see that's when you play internet connectivity then if you if you complete one thing one you talk you can compl are you talking about reskins though like like a spooky no three different games three milk this thing for what you can so I listen Okay daddy wants some some new shoes now now we're talking about sell some games so now we're talking about something squeeze it because here here's the interesting thing behind that is Godfather Elton John I think three Harry Potter games I think that that is one of the few license that could pull off a multi-pin yeah like you know I mean you take jassic Park we've got three I mean now they followed movies and you got a retro one that still sold that's entirely different story but it's not that that shows now you again releasing them at the same time or roughly a few years apart that's an you know there's complications that but I think that that's one of the only things that immediately people would buy one or two of and put in their house even if they came out simultaneously there would be people buying different modes if you yes buy both because it's such a popular franchise that you could actually probably get away with that and I mean yeah see I mean it would be weird how you divide the films up do you do the first I don't care two know what I'm saying there's different there's different uh levels of those films like they take the heartwarming start then there has a middle act kind of thing in the series and then there's a dark that's the only thing I hated about stranger things stranger things isn't popular enough but I would have liked some upgrades to stranger things because the the that whole plot has developed so much and I love everything that is going on in these later Seasons that I would have really liked something little more more code update though yeah yeah I mean but what I'm saying though is like I want to embellish everything I just don't want the first film on a Harry Potter game I don't want but that that comes with complications though because got uh I've got nipples can you milk me Greg maybe I would milk that thing forever everything it's worth milk it make it into five games I don't care well you know fictions run it through the majority of the year and then maybe in the fall October is you come out with your enhanced code and you bump up some more production of Cactus Canyon since it uh becomes a a thing again make that until March and then March roll out maybe with a new a new remake or something like that uh but come on guys2 I don't see anything I would love to see another remake like a twilight zone or something Adams Family Indiana Jones I would love to see that but I'm losing Fai I'm losing faith I'd love an updated what about the newcomer barrels of fun barrels of fun they came take the torch for the '90s balet Williams planetary pinball love that money and they got that license so pinball Brothers uh maybe they make I want to see what pinball brothers does because here's the weird thing is like I had an alien it had a few issues mhm but they were very simple things um and I know there was some code stuff of it being a little buggy like when I had mine when they were really rolling those out but once you got all that done it was a very solid game it was built very well I felt so like I would like something with better geometry like I would like a proven pen like standard body yeah I would like to see what they can do with a remake you know they had some really nice detail stuff that other people weren't doing that's what I'm saying so like like I'm I'm actually I would be very excited to see them do something I I like that I think it'd be cool to see if they can do a remake I do too cuz you wouldn't have to falter too much from what's already there yes uh and then you can design some animations you can design I think it'd be really neat the other Rumblings is another band pen like a European band but I don't know be careful I don't know be game is an original theme which is always a bad decision uh but he said it's Barry orser's last game I think that may be food truck he was developing over at Deep route but then I think they said it was re-engineered so it's like a single level I sounds like a bad bad idea in the making to me yeah I just man God God Rest the soul of Barry or love the guy and I'd like to see him have a game out if it was working on it I if it's food truck I'm I'm not sold no I'm really not sold you gotta be so man original themes to me are are still just dead unless you do something like Houdini or you did something like you know when back a long time ago Sherlock Holmes you know what I'm saying like you have something that's still the SE yeah you have something that resonates with people well here I'll make it better then day fix then said after that they're going to do another original theme oh man now that one is going to be kind of a a sequel or another affiliation with a previously made game
