### Signals

- **[business_signal]** Cumulative mod costs create financial shock despite individual affordability, with comprehensive Pro-to-LE parity upgrade reaching $1,500+ total investment (confidence: high) — RetroRalph states 'I'm not broke but it might have cost a little more than I thought' and refuses to total expenses on camera, indicating psychological impact of aggregate cost
- **[community_signal]** Content creator (RetroRalph) using mod installation tutorials as framework for equipment education and community resource, demonstrating mod ecosystem visibility (confidence: medium) — Video format centers entire content strategy on detailed mod showcase with pricing and installation difficulty, positioning mods as central to ownership experience
- **[design_philosophy]** Aftermarket modding community filling feature gaps and cosmetic shortfalls in stock equipment, suggesting either intentional manufacturer pricing strategy or unmet design expectations (confidence: medium) — Mod categories directly replicate LE features (speaker upgrade, side armor, scuba diver kit) on lower tiers, indicating deliberate feature stratification
- **[market_signal]** Robust aftermarket mod ecosystem for AC/DC with 15+ distinct upgrades ranging $44-$249, suggesting strong collector/enthusiast demand for cosmetic parity between tiers (confidence: high) — Comprehensive pricing breakdown of mods totaling $1,500+; multiple vendors (Measel Mods, Wizard Amusement, MOJO Mods) actively competing in upgrade space
- **[product_strategy]** AC/DC pinball explicitly designed in three tiers (Pro/Premium/LE) with significant feature distribution gaps: LE includes jetpack mechanism, physical ball lock, five and a quarter inch speakers, and side armor stock; Pro/Premium lack these, creating upgrade market (confidence: high) — RetroRalph catalogs specific missing features (jetpack, ball lock) and hardware differences (4-inch vs 5.25-inch speakers) between tiers that drive mod demand
- **[product_concern]** Stern stock audio equipment on Pro/Premium models characterized as substandard, driving adoption of aftermarket solutions (Boom Boom 3000, PinWoofer, PinSound) (confidence: high) — RetroRalph states 'their stock subwoofers in the Stern AC/DC (Pro Vault Edition) and Premium Edition are just not very good' and applies upgrade to all machines owned
- **[sentiment_shift]** Cosmetic mods exhibiting high adoption and addictive appeal pattern — once one mod installed, collector psychology drives successive purchases (confidence: high) — RetroRalph describes art blades experience: 'once you add the art blades to one game, you think to yourself, how did I live without this?' and 'all these mods really do [become addicting]'
- **[technology_signal]** Shaker motor emerging as expected standard upgrade on Stern machines despite not being included on Pro/Premium stock configurations (confidence: high) — RetroRalph notes shaker motor absent from Pro/Premium but present on game code integration, stating 'I've done this to all my Stern machines'

Look, I hear it all the time, don't get the pro, get the premium. But what if I told you I can make this bond right here look just like a premium? Let's go! This is the Rocket Scaffolding mod by Mezzle Mods. This upgrade makes the Bird One Rocket Base look so much better. It's a super easy mod to install too. Just slip it over the stock building and you're done. This is probably the easiest mod I've ever installed. Next up is the Bird One rocket mod. This thing totally transforms the rather bland stock rocket into a beast. It's got some awesome detail too that makes it look super realistic. Look close and you can actually see rivets. Totally cool and easy to install as well. It's just a single bolt from under the playfield and you're done. This is the bullet gate assembly cover. This mod is minor but it sure dresses up the plain jane gate assembly in the back and it gives it a cool look from the original Bond movie intro. To install it, you simply slip it over the existing gate. This next mod is the Interactive Gyrocopter by Mezelmods. Okay, so the back of the Pro is a little empty because it doesn't have the Bond jetpack mechanism. And it looks barren in that right corner, but not anymore. Remember the little Nelly from the movie You Only Live Twice? Well, here's a replica of the little Nelly that fills up that back space nicely and adds a cool lighting effect whenever the pop bumper flasher is active. Next we have the scuba diver kit. The pro just had a standard piece of acrylic with artwork here, kind of boring, but now it's got the exact same cool floating diver scene as the premium model. Yeah, you heard that right, same as the premium. Look how cool this is. Here's the Dragon Tank mod by Mezelmods. There a dragon tank on the premium and the LE so why can we have one Well you can This is from the movie Dr No and it got cool light eyes as well as a red light for the mouth of the tank that lights up as well The only complaint I have about this one is the amber lights on the tank are a hair too bright. I might have to fix that if it ends up becoming a bit too distracting. Next up, Side Armor by Stern Pinball. Only the Stern LEs come stock with Side Armor, but once you start putting it on your games, it's gonna become addicting. Well, all these mods really do. And it doesn't serve much purpose other than it looks cool. I guess it does protect the area from greasy hands or something. I don't really care. It looks awesome and that's all that matters. Don't worry. I won't judge you. Do it to yours too. Ah, the art blades. When you don't have them on any of your games, you don't care. But once you add the art blades to one game, you think to yourself, how did I live without this? It totally completes the game and it really just gives it that polished look. Hey, Stern, uh, where's my Venom Art Blades? Tick tock, guys. Okay, I know what you're gonna say on this one. What purpose does this one serve? Um, duh, it looks badass. It won't help you get that perfect plunge, but it will make you look really cool while you're doing it. I love these custom shooter rods by Stern. This one has a cool look with the Bond 60th logo on it. Oh, snap. It's the Ed Boon Ed Boon 3000 subwoofer. Look, this isn't going to make you feel like you're rolling in your 5.0 with the rag top down, but it's a nice, easy upgrade from the stock Stern sub. I love Stern, but their stock subwoofers in the Pro and Premium are just not very good. I do this to all my machines, and I'm happy with the outcome. For a more advanced audio setup, take a look at Pinwoofer and PinSound. You're gonna spend more, but it will really get your cab bumpin'. Next up, the Stern Shaker Motor. Many don't realize that this thing does not come stock on the Pro or the Premium. It a simple upgrade and the game code is usually tightly integrated with it on all modern Stern games to add a cool element to the gameplay Some games leverage the shaker motor better than others but the first time I heard the T scream on Jurassic Park I was like yeah I gotta have a shaker on all my machines. It's a pretty cost-effective upgrade too. I love this mod and I've done it to all my Stern machines that I've owned so far. Stern Pro and Premium models come with 4-inch stock speakers. They're pretty basic, they sound decent, but why do we mod? To make things better. So this mod changes the speaker size from a four inch found in the pro and premium to the five and a quarter inch found on the limited edition Stern machines. So you get a sound upgrade with these Kenwood speakers and some awesome lighting effects to really make your machine pop. Note, you can put in any five and a quarter inch speaker in here as long as it fits. I'm using the Kenwood speakers that are the same ones that Stern uses on their limited edition machines. Oh, I forgot, you can get this cool placard acrylic to match your speaker lights too, just something cool to make that badge stand out. Alright, last but certainly not least, the Goldfinger Laser Mod by Mojo Mods. To me, this mod steals the show. This mod is a replica of the scene in Goldfinger that's got Bond almost meeting his certain doom. This mod is not integrated into any of the game code, but when the ball goes up the villain mode ramp, it turns the laser blue. Put the ball up the ramp a second time and the laser is now activated. A third time and the laser turns on. Shoot the villain mode ramp one more time to save Bond just in the nick of time. Okay, so here's where we have to have the tough conversation about price. How much does this all cost? All right, we're gonna rattle down each mods cost one by one because the thumbnail says I'm broke. I'm not broke but it might have cost a little more than I thought. The rocket scaffolding mod is The rocket upgrade mod is The bullet gate assembly mod is That a cheap one The interactive gyrocopter mod is The scuba diver kit is The dragon tank mod, $152. Side armor, $249. The art blades by Stern, $99. The custom shooter rod is $179. The Ed Boon Ed Boon 3000 is $44. Shaker Motors $109 The speaker kit This is the 5.25 bracket And the speakers and the lights Came to $133 And then last but not least The Goldfinger Laser Mod is $200 So yeah I don't even want to add it up Mason if you're doing this right now Add it up I don't even want to know I don't even want to know How much is it? Ooh. All right, guys, that about wraps things up for this video. I hope you liked it. This is really fun for me. I really enjoy modding pinball machines and just kind of making it however you want it to be. Now, I gotta say, the Pro is not exactly the premium because there's a couple things I really can't do. Like the jet pack that swings out, that's something I cannot add to it. And the other thing would be the physical ball lock mechanism. It actually has a circular ramp and a ball lock that physically locks the ball. But other than that, the Pro is pretty well equipped. And then putting the mods on it makes it look more complete and full. And I love it. I love the way it turned out. Let me know what you think in the comments below. Hopefully you enjoyed this video. If you did, give me a thumbs up. Consider subscribing to the channel if you enjoy content like this. And that's it for now, guys. We will see you on the next one. Thank you.
