## Analysis

Mystery Pinball Theater 3000 reveals 'The Matrix,' a fan-made pinball game developed by Pincredibles and VPW. Led by The Fishbowl (code/rules), with Astro handling artwork and project management, the game targets a December 2027 release. The stream showcases gameplay mechanics, playfield design inspired by mid-2000s Stern aesthetics, and credits a large collaborative team including Flux (developer), Defini (playfield geometry), and custom display work by Nailbuster.

### Key Claims

- [HIGH] The Matrix pinball game is targeting a December 2027 release — _The Fishbowl states explicitly: 'We're looking for a December release this year... 2027.'_
- [HIGH] Astro's involvement as project manager/consultant revealed the game was further from completion than initially thought—approximately a year to 18 months of work remained when he joined — _Astro observed: 'When we thought we were done, we had a year to go.' Game creator acknowledges Astro's timeline assessments were accurate._
- [HIGH] The Fishbowl is building a physical whitewood version of the game in his garage — _Host confirms: 'Defishbowl has a white wood and is building this game right now in his garage. Is that right, Defish? That is right.'_
- [HIGH] Playfield design required Defini to correct geometry—the original playfield was approximately 5 inches too long in the back — _Host states: 'The back was like five inches too long.' Astro confirms: 'There there there were a few issues.'_
- [HIGH] The visual design is intentionally styled after mid-2000s Stern machines (specifically referencing Tron aesthetic with halftone imagery and cut-paste style) — _Host reports designer Phil's direction: 'He wanted specifically Tron... mid 2000s Stern like with the halftone and everything and just like cut and paste images.'_
- [HIGH] Approximately 95% of in-game visuals were created by the host (Manu), with some additional assets by Harland — _Host states: 'I say about 95% of it is just me. Um, and there's a bunch there's there's some stuff in there that's Harland also.'_
- [HIGH] Nailbuster is releasing PUP display software version 1.6 (currently in beta) required for the game; existing 1.5 version will not run the game — _Host: 'This will not run in your current 1.5... just make sure you go to Nailbuster's site and get the latest... It's 1.6.'_
- [HIGH] Only approximately 50 people have tested the game over the last couple of years before this reveal — _Host notes: 'Only like 50 people on the planet have what we've been running for the last couple of years. It's in beta.'_
- [HIGH] The game development timeline took longer than expected because initial playfield design had dimensional and shot geometry issues that required multiple rounds of correction — _Astro: 'Where you're at right now was where we were like a year and a half out and you guys thought you were going release it in like two months... The dimensions of the playfield weren't even correct.'_
- [HIGH] Flux (from VPW) brought the project to a higher production standard after other developers backed out — _Host: 'Your other two guys were were backing out at that point and you were kind of dead in the water. And I was like... let's bring in VPW... I'll ask Flux to help us.'_

Tacos and wings and Mountain Dew. That sounds good, man. I had I had a I had a yogurt.
In fact, I'm just finishing up a yogurt. Yeah.
Not a sponsor.
Hey, George.
Pivoting.
Okay. Okay. All right.
This is content that the people came here for, to watch Manu eat yogurt. Unsponsored.
Unsponsored yogurt. Um All right. So, we're here to show off what we've been working on for the last uh few years. Uh, and I won't bury the lead too much, but uh, gentlemen, if you have
one eternity later,
I should have turned that one off. I really
That's good. He spam that.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Um, if you guys had a dream theme that you could make, Astro, I know you already made your dream thing that What was that? The leprechaun game.
Not the leprechaun game. No. What was the other game?
I didn't make it, but it's my It was my dream theme. And then when it came prepackaged on the nail buster, I was like, "Yes."
That was Yeah. Leprechaun. Which is Where's Leprechaun? It's here somewhere. I'm looking at I'm looking at my VPen. Um, how about you, De Fishbowl? Do you Did you ever have a dream theme? I
think it would be Rocket League.
Are we doing that next?
Wow.
Wait.
Oh, are we not supposed to say what it is yet?
Thanks for ruining it. Um, Rocket League. Yeah, that's a good one. Well, um, um, nail busters here. Okay, good. So, what if, let me just throw this out here for you guys. What if there was a pinball machine being made? If you had ever had a dream that um that you had that you had to What if there was a pinball machine that you guys based on? All right. The main [Music] Hello, ladies and gentlemen. All right. Now,
I left that one. I left Celebrate. That's the only one I left.
All right.
What game is it?
Uh, let's turn that on. Blow people's minds. All right. Cool. All right. So, here's the deal now. Here's the deal. Um, I want to go through a couple of things with you guys. I want to talk about what the game is like. Um, the Fishbowl, what what was what was really your dream theme? I mean, clearly.
Yeah. The Matrix, you know, definitely. Ever since I started, I was like, I really I love the Matrix movies, and I was just like, dude, I got to build this table. So I think uh you helped it happen for me all of y'all.
Nice. Nice Johnny Pneumonic 2. Yes, Isaiah.
All right, so a couple of things right now. We're going to go forward. I'm going to talk to Astro a little bit about this and because Astro is is is is insanely important to this project. I know you're gonna down don't don't even shake your head, bro. I know you're going to downplay it so much, but holy smokes.
Have you ever had a dream that you um you had your you you could you'll do you you once [Laughter]
he always manages to change it. So I don't even know what's coming. Pinbot, thank you. Um this what you're seeing right here, this is this is not the final. This is probably two. There's a few There's a few renders coming, right, Astro? There's a um this is a this is a this is a version
that's a flux question.
Yeah, that's okay. Terry Red.
What's up, Terry? Another hard work. I do not envy Terry. We we we literally had what? We had The Fishbowl, Astro, Flux, Apous, me. Uh at the beginning it was Mr. H, and Haron. Uh uh and then maybe some more. We have play testers.
Terry does all his Terry does everything
solo and kills it.
Yes.
Oh my god.
I didn't know this was the Terry Red appreciation hour. It it it it will be now. Trust me.
I'll tell you who didn't do I'll tell you who didn't do anything on this game.
Who?
Terry Red.
I offer you though.
Now Astro, what's funny is I as I as I told Terry, I says, "Hey, anytime you want to check it out, you know, because Terry Terry knew what we were doing. Anytime you want to check it out, I'll jump in a Zoom and I'll show you." And Terry's like, "Nope. I want to see it when you guys reveal like Terry was super cool about he's like I want to see it when you guys reveal it. So thank you Terry for Yeah. He said surprise me. So that's what we did. Um so so this is a this is a version that we're working on right now. Um I'm going to leave it up to the Fishbowl to to give you guys the news because this is a reveal stream, not a release stream yet. The fishbowl, what what were we talking about? Another Matrix pinball machine because nothing says philosophical dystopia like watching a silver ball get stuck in the wire forms.
Another Matrix machine.
Go ahead. The fishbowl.
What' you say? What were we talking about? What
I was asking? Um, when do you know like I like I don't know. But when what are we looking for a release on on on this?
We're looking for a December release. This year
December release this year. Not
Merry Christmas.
Yeah. Merry Christmas.
2027.
What? December 27th.
No, I said 20 2027.
Oh, 2027
this year.
Okay. I thought you said December 27th. I was like, "Wow, that's that's that's a random detail that I didn't know." All right. So, um,
my special guest, Tony.
Hey, Tony. What's happening? Hey, Tony.
I am in the public arcade right now. So you
It's all good. It's all good. Astro, thank you. Astro, thank you for being here.
You walked up walked up and said the Matrix.
Um, Astro, real quick. Uh, just just I I want to give I want to give you a shout out because um, Astro served not only as the art. So all the artwork you see is Astro. Um, and I I'm I'm saying it's not complete because it's there are other versions that Astro have that we're throwing together and Flux is like baking like crazy and doing stuff. So, we're still throwing stuff in this, but we really want to show you guys what we're working on so we could get out the cat out of the back.
You got to you got to remember Defini.
Yes, Defini did a ton on the playfield layout.
I got I got I got names here and you guys help me. I'm gonna say these names. I got names people to thank and if if I miss anybody the Fishbowl Astro fix me. Um I got uh bunch of people. So obviously the fishbowl who is the lead on this game um uh layout and game rules and code. The fishbowl is one of the greatest coders I ever met in my life. And I ran I was lead engineer at a software company for a while. And I've never seen somebody like the fishbowl knockout. the fishbowl. Your your mantra is it's just code. Code is hard.
Just code.
Code is hard.
Just ones and zeros.
Ones and zeros. All right, cool. Um Um So, Astro definitely Astro was kind of like project manager even though you don't think you were. Um Astro did all the artwork. Of course, also Defini or Defi. Um um uh Astro put us on track, so to speak, because of the um the knowledge that the knowledge you had actually doing this, right? Actually running through the entire workflow of building a game like Die Hard. Um do you want to speak to a second about that about what what that
Yeah, I mean entails. I I knew about the game the whole like even before I was involved I knew about the theme and I knew about what you guys were working on. I hadn't I hadn't seen it and then I basically finished Die Hard and um you know we're chatting chatting with you about it and I was finally like hey you know I want to do the artwork and you're like yeah we want you to do the artwork and you were kind of like we'll let you know when we're ready for that step and I was like all right and we finally got to a point where you were like all right check it out and then as soon as I played it I was like I think the first thing I said was I was like where you're at right now was where we were like a year and a half out and you guys thought you were going release it in like two months. And that was like
that was kind of the beginning of the conversation. I I was like
anyway, everything was still pink and there was nothing was finalized. The dimensions of the playfield weren't even correct. Like there was there was a lot.
Yeah. Astro came in. Beautiful dream. Poof. It's like
it was like three feet too long.
Yeah. He remembers all that stuff.
Yep. Um, so what I want to do is I want to I I definitely want to thank you Astro because Astro came in and was like, "Okay, you guys have an idea. Cool. This is how we make it happen."
Like definitely like talked me off of a roof many times. Um,
it wasn't really I'm not really a project manager. It was more like I just had just done it and I I gave you like time stamps. I was like, "You need to do this in the next month and then you need to do this next month." And I was like, "And this is how you get it back on track." I didn't really like
Is that what a project manager does?
Yeah. I I don't know. Anyway, I was a consultant.
That was literally what a project manager does. Uh no, my my my my favorite line from Astro is I was I was chatting with Astro one night and I said, uh and he and he and he said, um so you he's like, "So you guys think you're done, right?" I go, "Yeah, we're close to done." He goes, "Okay, when we thought we were done, we had a year to go. We didn't know we had a year to go, but we had a year to go. So that was like
And when did I say that to you?
That you said that. Oh, that's You said that like a year ago.
You're like a year ago. A year ago.
Yeah, that was
Yeah, that was like It was like It was like eight months ago. I think it was like eight months ago to be honest. But it's we'll round up to a year. Um so yeah, it's a process. It's Yeah, defeat it's it's such a Oh my god, it's So anyway, uh I want to thank Flux. We definitely want to thank Flux because update December 2026. We want to f we want to thank Flux so much. This is this is my man right here. Right here you guys. When I found out when Astro suggested that we ask, beg and plead Flux to help us on this. I was like fanboying all over myself. I was like, "Holy shit." So, Flux is going to help the guy who I have a poster that this is the one you made, Astro. This This is my [ __ ] This is my game. Cyber Race. I was like, "No way." All right. And then and and you guys know Flux actually built this. If you don't know, Flux actually built this. And full disclosure, uh Defishbowl has a white wood and is building this game right now in his garage. So, this will be built. Is that right, Defish? That is right.
I was gonna say
I have seen a picture of it. Yes, it is.
I was going to show pictures, but we got we got to keep moving. We got to keep moving. Um
uh the new
real quick I mean real quick to say about Flux. I mean it it wasn't like we had to beg him. I was basically like we you made the decision to to bring the file into VPW at that point because I think I told you that I was like it's ready. you need to take it up a notch like and and your other two guys were were backing out at that point and you were kind of dead in the water. And I was like, "All right, well, let's bring in VPW. We'll start a channel. We'll only invite people we trust and I'll ask Flux Flux to help us." And then that's when you were like, "Flux?" And I'm like, "Yeah." And you're like, "You you think he'll do it?" And I'm like, "Yeah." And then Flux and I had a really good working relationship on a on a few different things that we've been working on. So, it was it was I was like, "Yeah, I like working with him. I I send him things. He knows how to make it. It it'll go real smooth." And then like within a month, it was like, "Well, and backtrack Defini." First, I told you guys to stop everything you were doing and have Defini correct the geometry and then it went to Flux.
Yeah. Yeah. We were a little The playfield was a little little different than it should be on an actual playfield. Yeah, the beautiful part of it is due to flux. The the game play is due to defeat.
The more developers on this machine, the more views has games are in constant flux.
You get what I'm saying?
Yeah. Yeah.
It was it was it was just a sketch kind of layout and then man, Defini got in there. I was like, whoa,
these shots hit.
I mean, the big issue as soon as I played it, I was like, something's wrong with this. And we couldn't figure out what it was. And then we realized the back was like five inches too long.
Yeah,
man.
There there there were a few issues. I'll go over them a little bit, but we we're going to keep going. But definitely um yeah, we we were further away than we thought until we bought VPW. That's why VP it's a it's a it's a PCR VPW. It's like it's like you know the monsters, the giants, you know, of of this stuff. And I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm flattered and like humbled to be even part of this thing which I've been playing for 5,000 hours.
Well, let's keep going.
Video to prove it.
Oh my god, I have so many videos. Um Apous, I want to thank Apous for jumping in. Um 6TO definitely 6 talked me off a couple of roofs also. Um Six is the one that'll come in and be like, "Okay, you want to build that?" and and it'll go he'll go that'll work or that won't work like six is the one that's like okay let's see if this is gonna actually work in the real world maybe maybe not we'll see so six thank you um nail buster this would not be possible without nail buster this
no
and this which is a screen you guys this is a screen holy [ __ ] I can't believe the fishbowl I can't believe I'm pointing to this game and they're seeing it after three years three and a half Cheers.
Thank you for made custom updates for us.
This is so Terry uh thank you for mentioning that you will need to update your pup DMD uh your your pup display. We Nailbuster is going to release a new version that you have to update to. This will not run in your current 1.5. Um if you're running baller installer, good for you. You hit a button, it downloads it, you're done. If you're not running bowling solo and you're doing it solo, just make sure you go to Nailbuster's site and get the latest um the latest pup stuff. There's this is beta stuff. He says like only like 50 people on the planet have what we've been running for the last couple of years. It's in beta.
1.6.
It's 1.6. Yeah.
Yeah. Um Oh, that's everyone's favorite thing. Yeah. Well, you know, I mean, we part of the issue is Pin Credibles and VPW actually, you know, we keep pushing David and he's like, "All right, you guys. All right, here. Here you go."
The way it starts out, David goes, "I don't know if that can be done." And then like the next day or maybe in a few hours, he goes, "Hey, can you try this out for me?" And I'm like, "Dude, what the heck is this?"
That's the feature we've been looking for. And he's like, "Yeah, you got it. All right. No worries."
Exactly. Um,
he's definitely a say no. Gets his gut reaction and then then he like back. He's like, "Oh, wait a minute. I can do that."
Then he always does it.
We love you, David. You're so awesome.
We do.
Um, how do you say his name? Tomato. Tomat. I keep saying it wrong. Tomato.
I think it's Tomate.
Tamate. I say let's throw
Sure. It's Tomate.
Yeah. Let's throw a thanks out to Tomate, too. Tomate is in the in the in the Discord for the the Matrix pin. Um, uh, big thanks to Flipstream and IRD. Uh, quick story about Flipstream. I had him come over and flip the game and, uh, we he did like a 40inute re recording of everything that was good and bad about the game like and didn't hold back. Cheers.
Cheers to you, Flipstream. Um, I won't get into specifics, but I will tell you as we play the game. Um, Isaiah, of course, came in and took a really like kind of pro pro approach. Not to say Flipstream isn't a pro player, but Isaiah is a monster and, uh, gave some feedback, too. Played the game like I hadn't seen it ever, and destroyed the game. Um, I want to give a thank because Surreal was kind of like my buddy throughout the whole process. Um, and I'd show him stuff and he say, "That's cool. That's not cool. Why do you need this? Why is that there?" Blah, blah, blah. Um, so Surreal, of course. Um, and a couple of special thanks for to uh Kelly Mazerowski and Stephen Silver. Kelly Mazerowski, if you guys don't know, is works for Pinball Brothers and is the visual effects artist at Pinball Brothers. Um, and Kelly put me on the path of creating all the visuals in the game. So, all this stuff up here, I say about 95% of it is just me. Um, and there's a bunch there's there's some stuff in there that's Harland also. So, um, uh, Kelly, I say thank you. He put me on the path. Stephen Silver of, um, gosh, Multimorphic, Stephen Silver, Mimmorphic, literally taught me how to do this stuff. like was on call cuz Stephen is a teacher. He he teaches video uh uh uh video graphics and stuff. He does all the video graphics or a lot of videographics for Multimorphic. He actually walked me through all the things that like After Effects and Element 3D and and things I needed to do in here and there. And I can't thank Kelly and Stephen enough for helping this homebrew happen. So they're amazing people. Of course, Mr. Hent Harlon who was there in the beginning and knocked out a bunch of stuff. Harlon is still the social media dude. Harlon is the one that posted to all the places that you guys say see the teaser trailer. Um and uh that's all I got right now. Did I miss anybody?
Yeah, let's mention uh it's not in the game yet, but Raw Dog make made the VR rooms.
Made like five
five VR rooms that aren't implemented yet, but
yeah,
he did a lot of work.
Oh my god, I played this in VR yesterday and it was so much fun. It's just it and this is not like
I never had a room.
I know. Um I mentioned before, I'm mentioning again for new people showed up. This is not the final as you can see like this. There's some weird things on the diverters here and there's stuff missing. Like we don't have any uh spinner art. But you guys, this is for you to get the gist of what we've been working on. All right. So, uh without further ado, the first thing I want to do is play a game. I'm just going to play a game. I'm not going to explain anything. You guys, the fishbowl Astro, you guys can talk amongst yourself. I'm just gonna I'm gonna play a ball, actually. All right. So, here we go. You ready? Oh my god. Do I have this Do I have the sound up? I don't sign up. Okay. Okay. Shh. Shh. Ready?
Finally, a chance to prove you're the one until the machine tilts and reminds you you're not.
Nice.
Dard dog.
I'm T. I'll be your
Is everything in place?
Supposed to believe me.
I know, but I felt like taking a shift.
His name was Raw Dog. I guess it's Dard Dog.
Did you hear that? Are you sure this line is clean?
Yeah, of course. The fishbowl.
Yeah,
that is the last time anyone will watch that intro cuz they're going to flip a scale. Yeah, man.
All right. And speaking of
beautiful,
it's still beautiful, guys. You can watch it whenever you want. Almost everything in the game is flipper skippable.
Not worry. And and and I'm sorry, I killed the custom sounds for now cuz I just don't want to disturb this moment cuz this is going up on YouTube, too. So So here we go. So uh the object of the game is uh you're playing the fishbowl. Correct me if I'm wrong in any of this. Oh, you know what I'm going to do? I'm just going to read this because when I was trapped at my not trapped, I don't say trapped. Oh, no. I love you, Mom. When I was visiting grandma in New York for 4 days with the kids, I didn't have much to do. So, I wrote this, which is a it's like a if if anybody goes to Tilt Forums, these are the rules of the matrix. Um, and I wrote it in like a tilt form format, but I will read this to you guys if you guys can hear me. This is my intro. Wake up, Neo. Welcome to the Matrix Pinball by Pink Credibles and VPW. Prepare for a pinball adventure like no other because there literally is no Matrix Pinball game except for a homebrew that I saw a long time ago that was based on Johnny Pneumonic. Okay, but that's not in here. But I digress. All right. You are stationed aboard the Nebuchadnezzar, which I could never spell and I had to look up on Google. Um, aided by Tank, your operator, Tank will help you guide your guide the crew, Neo, Trinity, Naobi, Morpheus, and Morpheus as they try to free the minds of the human race and free them from the imprisonment of the Matrix. It won't be smooth sailing. Agent Smith, Brown, and Jones, which are their actual names. Did how many people in chat knew that these two guys were Agent Brown and Jones?
I didn't know till you told me. I
mean, is that literally just in the credits?
That's in the script.
Like, they don't say it in the movie.
They never say it in the movie.
All right, then. That doesn't count.
No, it's in the script.
Well, you just you just showing off,
bro. I have to. I have been watching these movies a billion times over the last three years.
That was the funny thing when I first started working on it with you and I was just like spitballing [ __ ] and you immediately were like how many times have you seen these movies and I was like I was like like a thousand like before I was working on the machine. I knew like all the lore and the names of things. He was like what I was like but I was like hold my beer cuz I'm about to watch it a thousand times. Um all right. All right, it won't be smooth sailing as agents Smith, Brown, and Jones attempt to stop you at all cost. Cipher is sneaking about waiting to betray Morpheus and crew. Sentinels will attack the ship and the Zion outpost. Visiting the Oracle can bring you some answers to and perks to your to help you. Do not forget to go through training programs to get perks and increase your matrix score. Good luck. Maybe Morpheus was right. Maybe you are the one playing a ball. You guys talk. Did AI write that? Be honest.
No, I wrote it. I wrote it.
I like I like how like basically when we started this machine, AI didn't exist
and now and now you told me to put it in the game.
Oh my god.
Isn't that weird to think about?
It's It's We took so long that
Yeah.
Oh,
man. I I I had like all this playfield done with just pictures from the movie and stuff and the man one day goes, "Hey, Astro, uh, if you want to just like use AI images, go ahead." Because it kind of fits the theme.
I didn't say that.
You did? You wrote it in the Discord.
I did?
Yeah. I'll go back and find it. And that's why I made the drop. The drop targets are AI agents.
Okay.
Yes, Terry, you are correct. like the image on the front of the the drop target.
They are?
Yeah, they're they're AI generated.
Oh, that's awesome.
All right, so what are we doing? We're training right now. Do we want to do red? Do we want to do red dress? Do we want to do jump or kung fu? Do we want to do sparring agent or jump?
Yeah.
Everyone brought up a good make it easy. What is a What am I about to say?
One thing about the playfield originally originally when I was, for lack of a better term, auditioning, I drew a picture of Neo and Trinity and sent it to them as like a style guide. And I was because I was going to handdraw the whole thing. And Manny was like, "Oh, that's super cool. Let me run it by Phil." And then Phil was like, "No, I want it to look like a shitty 2005 Stern." I don't think he said shitty, but yes, he said he wanted
specifically Tron.
Yeah. He was like, I want it to look like a mid 2000s Stern like with the with the halftonone and everything and just like cut and paste images. And I'm like, really? Cuz I could make it look really cool. And he's like, "Nope, it's what I want." So then I made like a style guide like that. And he was like, "Perfect." And it took me like
it took me like 15 minutes. I was like,
"You got you got to do what you got to do." All right. So, uh, we're going to do red dress. red dress is um
okay.
Yeah. So then I started looking at
the the main machine. Do you know which machine I basically based all of this visual stuff off of was
like anytime I got stuck and I
I had like a a go-to machine I would look at to be like how would Stern have done it.
Was it Tron?
It's not Tron.
Oh. Tron was too pretty.
Oh, come on, Manu. All right. Hey, so you guys I'm I'm realizing now you guys can't hear the game.
So sometimes you're talking over the game. So I'm just warning you
when I start playing that the the music the sounds are going
and I could that was just us.
Yeah, just you guys can't hear it. But what I'm trying to do is for chat, um, there are red shots on the playfield, but then one of them is going to turn green. The object of this training mode is to hit all the red shots to to have Neo kind of sneak a look at the at the u at the red dress girl without more. Damn it.
So, back to I was saying, you want a big clue about which machine it was? Look at the plastics on the inlay. the plastics on the Yeah. Oh, the plastics on the
in with those like exact plastics but with different colors and words.
Yeah. Um, if you guys real quick want to see, it's going to be it's going to be a weird It's going to be a weird format. And like I said 20 times, this is not the final, but if you want to look real quick, I will show you the playfield. It's going to be sideways though. But um, here's the playfield. All right. So, I can point out certain things on the playfield right now, and I'll do that real quick. So, right here, these guys right here are drop targets. These are the agents. So, this is Smith, Brown, and Jones. This is Astro's um kind of a a idea here in that we used to have the playfield clear all the way out to the shots. And Astro was like, well, no, you need you need to have something dangerous, right? And what's more dangerous than the agents? So, so Astro came up with this cool thing. And the shades on the inserts are just [ __ ] awesome. I'm sorry I swore, but the shades on the inserts are just stupid, right? So, um, three drop targets that will pop up during matrix modes to block shots. And so, these are represent the agents. Um, we've got a sentinel here, and this is where Sentinel multiball will be uh uh, you know, qualified and locked. We have couple of ramps. We have an S turn here. It's like the chair shot. And actually, let me, uh, let me switch back to this. So, makes a little more sense. Um, uh, like you've seen this. This is training. This is your training area up here. This is the upper play field with a clear, um, that turns translucent. Is that right, the fishbowl?
Right.
Yep. So
when you roll over through electrical impulse, there's things you can put on glass and it will like become opaque or
opaque, right? So if you guys didn't hear the fishbowl, he says when you go up here and you roll over something, it'll become opaque. And this is the thing that you can actually do in real life. We'll see how it works out, but when I shoot up there, it'll actually uh get solid, but without that, you can see the there's two pop bumpers and a sling uh and three rollover lanes. Uh, these are your bullet time. Your orbits are your bullet times. You'll see that happen. Um, middle shot here. Lots of inserts. Like I said, this is the tank screen.
Smart glass, Joey.
Um, smart. Oh, smart glass. Okay. Um, and there is a shot up here and spoons and EMPs, but we'll get to that. All right. Um, I'm going to just continue playing to see. Okay, I got a skill shot just so you guys get get a sense. I can I'm going to backhand this sucker. See if I can get a Zion lock.
Anyway, the game was uh was CSI.
The game was what?
CSI.
CSI. That's right. CSI.
Oh, okay.
All right. I'm going to see if I can start on Matrix mode. This is This is one of the toughest shots in the game just to start a mode. Oh, I got a lock. Okay, cool.
Come on, man. Make that shot.
Lock is nice.
Make that shot. By the way, the fishbowl, my favorite and it never gets old is dodge this.
Oh yeah, love it.
You guys will see that the kickback is insane on this game.
Special things on
You used to hate that clip. You must have moved it.
Which clip? Dodge this.
No, there was some clip that you like got sick of. What was it? Oh, there's a lot of clips I got. No,
there was one that happened like every game and you were like I thought it was dodge this. Maybe it wasn't.
No, that's the best. So,
the intro there was the intro music I had or something like that that we said to the
I think we that was probably it. Um, so uh uh we we're we're selecting a matrix mode right now and these are your basic modes in the game, right? So, these are your these are your you know yandu, yaka arrow, all that stuff. This is kind of your modes here. Um, and the way it works is you choose two players, right? So, Trinity and Smith, Smith and Neo. So, this is how it works, right? Um, and uh, the nice thing about this game is once you complete a triangle or a trinity so to speak. Ah, see what I did there? Once I've completed like Smith and Trinity, Smith and Neo, and Trinity and Neo, that will uh create a triangle which will get us into a mini wizard mode. Um, but let's start with the first mode we ever did. Where's the WOW mode? You take the blue pill, you take the easy way out, finish the mode, and carry on. You take the red pill, you choose the difficult path, and I show you a way to maximum points and progress.
All right, so here's your only choice in the game of red pill, blue pill. Basically, it's it's the level. Blue pill is Yes, that's an AI voice. Blue pill is easy or normal. Red pill is hard. I'm going to go blue pill.
And then we enter that matrix mode. That's the only time you choose that. So, you're basically choosing your difficulty level right off the bat. like Die Hard. Well, you choose it once and it's and it's set for the rest of the game.
So, you never have to choose it again. Um, thank you, Mr. JK. What's up, Mr. J Crane? Now, here's the thing. If you choose Blue Pill, you're going to get a feed up to the upper play field every time because you can lock Zion balls up here and you can also upgrade your characters, which I'll explain in a minute. If you choose red pill, the ball's going to feed to this flipper. So, you have to earn that. All right. Um, here's our first bullet time moment. The game is asking me, and anytime you're not clear, and Terry, this is why we kind of did it this way. Anytime you're not clear about what you need to do, you just look at tank. Tank is telling you on this screen what you need to do. Shoot bullet time, right? Bullet time is right here. So, you shoot that orbit. And then the objectives have shown. Shoot bullet time, eliminate threats, shoot lit shots to escape agent, shoot bone booth to exit the matrix. So, Okay, I'm going to backhand this. No, I'm not. I'm going to forehand this. I'm going to backhand it. I promise you I'm going to backhand it. Got it. [Music] So, what that did was it catches the ball and it creates kind of a bullet time moment in the game, which will be accompanied by some cool light shows.
Agents.
Okay, we got an agent pop up because I if I take too long, agents will start popping up. And notice he's there. He's just going to block the shot.
See if I can Can I Can I finish this mode, Phil? I'm not sure. There we go.
We'll do it.
There we go. There we go.
Has been practicing this for
I've been practicing a little.
Just a little bit
cuz this was the first mode.
All right. Uh Morpheus just told me that there's a phone on the upper ramp that I can make it. And I made it. Can I Oh, look at that. Stop. No.
Yeah. So, just on the I mean the mini playfield, that was a lot of work, but it was well worth it. There's uh we do overlay flashers on it, so we can do some things. Pup can show videos, but it can't do um images like floating on that yet. I bet by the time I we get off this stream, Terry or um No, Buster will send me a update and it'll be doing it. But the uh but for now, we do flashers over it just to show like this screen right here.
Yeah, you guys are going to have to focus on chat because I'm I'm in the middle of being epic with this game.
Um let's see. Uh I have it I have it set to five balls right now. So, I'm going to try and do the skill shot. skill shot is if you hold down the left flipper, the ball comes all the way around and I'd be able to shoot the dja vu loop. But this is that's what this cat means. That's the déja vu loop. Um, you can use your plunger or you can use your action button. I'm going to use my action button and one.
All right. So, tank is telling me that EMP is ready. Um, but once I drain out of this game, I'm going to talk about the rule set a little bit. That was an oracle award right there. Spelling fate f a t in the lower lanes gives me an oracle award. Uh I can track to enter the matrix.
Uh the fishbowl, do you think we should do a multiball?
Yes.
All right. I think I have Zion ready. I think I have Zion right. I have a one ball locked to Zion. If you guys can see on the the DMD display, there's there's a digger sticking through the display up top. I don't see if you see a ball one and there is a it looks like we still have iron iron maiden assets in here. That's hilarious. Um there is a a digger sticking out for a ball one lock. To start Zion Multiball, you only have to lock two balls and then you start it. So, the object in Zion Battle is to shoot pairs of jackpots. The first pair on the orbits, which is really tough, but if you manage to Come on. That that left Oh, that left orbit. Nope. If I can hit a ball up to the top, I can actually I can actually score a jackpot. Oh, add a ball. Yes. All right, let's go. Let's go. Oh, didn't make it.
Oh, I got a super. Okay, super's waiting. The super. Oh my god. And we started Zion Frenzy. Zion frenzy is when you hit the standup targets that spell Zion. Not like this.
Not like this. So, so Zion Multiball would have been better if I had hit that jackpot up. So, you're hitting the orbits and then you're hitting the jackpot around. You do that three times. So, it's the orbits, then the ramps, then the inner, and then you've defeated the Sentinel's attack on the Zion. Um, and Zion frenzy. Yeah. So, we have the Zion targets. And once you've spelled Zion twice, it starts a frenzy mode where all those switches add to your bonus. That's about it. Um, one of the most fun multiballs though I think I'll take you guys through right now is called uh EMP multiball, right? And EMP is more like your your multiball that's going to be easy to get to, right? And um all multiballs are stackable into modes. So anytime you're in a mode and you're you're you're in danger, you can shoot the Sentinel or you can shoot Zion or if you have enough EMP, you can start EMP multiball. That'll help you toward your progress in your mode. EMP though I'm going to play kind of alone right now so you guys can see it. Switch hits, well not just switch hits, but spinners. There's three spinners. You can see two of them, but one of them is underneath this ramp. Um, the spinners add to your EMP all the time. And you can see on the back glass, right? It says EMP is ready. You start with 50%, it goes up to 100. It's easy to get to. Like you could start a game by ball three, you'll probably have EMP multiball ready. Um, but to use EMP is tricky. Okay. So, at any point in a mode or anything, I'm going to I'm going to launch the ball and I'm going to hold the action button, which will start EMP. It interrupts anything that's happening. Hold the button. That starts EMP. You notice the flippers fluttered. And that's important to know. Whenever you drop an EMP, just like in the movie, you will lose control of your flippers for about a second. Very important to know. Now the object of this is to
reedge them
to recharge your batteries. Each spinner represents a battery. So you have to charge them.
Nice.
I got the super.
Thank you. I got the super, but while I was getting the super, the flippers died. So, I do it again. Oh no. Oh boy. Okay. The hardest one though, the fishbowl is the the right one.
The right one. Yep.
Sitting at 45.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Okay. Okay. Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Oh, you got it. Oh, no. That's the end. That's just
Oh, that's just me. Sorry. That's me dying.
Yep.
Nice.
So, so once again, EMP is your attainable multiball that you can get to. The trick is um and we're coming up with rule sets for that. You can get a you can get a super, but every time your ball save will run out. Every time you go for that super, your flippers will flutter just long enough for you to lose the ball.
Yep.
Man, it was fully charged. Um,
and that's courtesy of modding, by the way.
Can that be replicated in real life?
Uh, what
I know what happens.
Can be replicated.
I know the chatter.
Yes. Well, the reason I even thought it up,
I know it happens on accident cuz the switches are tapped, but
um I stole it from Harry Potter, but also um um Elton John does it too.
So Elton John does it during um uh Pinball Wizard. If you choose Pinball Wizard as a song,
did JJP,
it does this. Yeah, J. This is JJP. Yeah, Harry Potter does it, too. when you do that. But but no one's ever done it during play. Like Harry Potter does it when he catches the ball for a death eater and then shoots it back. Ours if you do it is going to do it. So you know my thoughts my thoughts lose power after. Exactly. Dance Panda. Yeah. Um so uh uh one more thing and then I'm going to go through the we'll go through the the the actual rule sheet just so you can watch this later. And I'm actually going to cut this part for the rules so that people can watch it later. Also, by the way, this will be included with um when we distribute this the fishbowl, we're going to include the rule sheet. Um all uh I don't know.
How do I get a hardbound version?
Seven spiraled full color
collector's edition.
Yes,
collector's edition. I will I will I will send it to you.
Manu, I have to get going because I have to close up.
Okay.
Because you interrupted me at work.
I know. I'm sorry, Astro. Thank you so much for joining though, man.
Appreciate it, Astro.
Yeah.
Good luck with the rest of all this. And uh I'm leaving the project now. So, good luck with the whole
Good luck with the rest of the whole thing.
Don't you dare.
Right. You still got graphics to do. Bye.
Thank you, Astro.
Later, man.
All right, I'm gonna Let's uh here I'm going to get rid of his screen. Um yeah, what And if you guys got questions in chat, throw them. I I'm sure uh the fishbowl is is on top of that. Um let's see. Let's see. Let's see. Let's see. Let's see. Let's see. Let's see. A rules PDF because people just love to read that stuff instead of asking you questions. We we we can include it. We can't make you read it though, but we can include it. We can include it. All right. Uh the fishbowl, one more. Let me see. Uh we do have
27,000 lines of code.
Yeah. Is that for real?
Yep.
I'm going to try to start believe, which is the captive ball. 27,000. Yes. Oh, I can't hit the captive ball for some reason today. See if we can upgrade. Can we upgrade? Nope. Okay. I can't hit the captive ball. My god. Oh, I can't hit the captive ball today. All right, the fishbowl. Captain ball is not happening. Oh, almost got a sentinel lock. Let's get a sentinel lock. Let's shoot anything. [Laughter] That's good. That's good. All right. Check out this match video, you guys. Check out this match. This is Harland at his best. Wait, wait. I got a high score. Let's go. [Applause] All right. Here's your match. Yeah, we're using the new gift stuff, Terry or Tilted. All right. What's up, Tony? Tony's here. What's up? What's up? What's up? What's up? All right. So, the fishbowl, I'm going to quickly as fast as I can go down the features and rules. Thank you, Joey. I appreciate it. Spent a lot of time, a lot of time on this stuff. Um, and and Tony, thank you for telling me about Film Impact. I didn't know it. I looked today and it was everything was free and I was now I'm angry because I've been paying for it for three years. Um, the fishbowl, I'm going to quickly go down the just the bullet points of the features of the Matrix pin coming soon to you in December of 2025. Um, means we're making it a real one. Yes. And it and yes, the fishbowl has a white wood and everything in his garage right now. Um, what's up, EP fiends? Okay, so skill shots. We have, you know, your your your standard skill shot where you shoot up the top and that's skill shot. You hold the left flipper, there's a skill shot. There'll be a couple other secret skill shots that we can go through. We talked about matrix modes, right? This is a matrix of the matrix, right? That's your matrix of matrix modes. and completing a matrix going into a matrix mode. You do the things the mode asks you to do. You leave out the phone booth because that's you got to find a phone to get out of matrix and you you you you profit. Um and anytime you want to jump into fishbowl, just let me know.
Yeah.
Um which brings the amount of white woods made from my layouts to two. Yes. Yes. Yes. Let's go. Um, is Matrix Resurrections in the game? I'm going to ask you something and clear black. Um, why would you do that to us? No, the game is the game is basically the fishbowl. It's moving one and a little of two and three, right?
Yeah. Yeah. Tiny bit of two and three just to just to even things out a little bit, you know? was just not quite enough for to add the depth we wanted to in just the first movie.
Right. Right. Um Yeah, Terry's right. We actually started this before Matrix 4 came out.
Yep. Yep.
Yeah.
Yeah. That's how long ago we started this. So, so uh you know to answer your question, like the the wizard modes, the the mini wizard modes are all based on I think the first movie where you rescue Morpheus. Um uh and I also did fishbowl correct me if I'm wrong uh the one wizard mode will be based on um movie one I think
correct yep
right so so does the matrix eat the ball the sentinel eats the ball so there you go um so just to keep everybody honest uh there's a little of two and three obviously Naobbi is in the game because we wanted Naobbi in the game we wanted Trinity and Naobbi in the game um and she's part of two and three um so there's some stuff that we picked from the other movies, but it's mostly movie one. Your your your your basic Matrix modes are all part of movie one. I think um Morpheus and Naobi mode, which is called uh Detected is movie three.
Yeah.
Yeah,
I think it's three.
Movie three. The mosa trinity in the jam. Wake up Neo extraction. One left incoming raid to the mystery theater.
Flipronic raiding with 14 beautiful people.
Hello raiders. Welcome to mystery pinball theater. And now here is Manu.
All right. Welcome in Jordan. We're going through Matrix modes. Uh Subway Showdown Detected and Sacrifice and Sabotage. Multiballs we talked about a little bit. What's up Becca? I had to kick Jordan's ass in pin baseball. Nice. Um, we have three multiballs. We have EMP multiball, which we saw. We have Zion Battle Multiball and Sentinel multiball, which you haven't seen yet because this is probably the hardest one to get to. Um, it's a straight shot to the Sentinel, but can you make it? Um, and so those do different things. Training programs, you saw we started a little bit. We have uh jump program, sparring program, and agent program. The reason you do training is it'll give you perks at the end. In fact, just by doing training, just by making a successful shot in training will add um a multiplier to your completion of matrix modes that you keep for the rest of the game, unless you choose the red pill. You choose the red pill, every time you drain, you lose 0.1 to that multiplier because you are a badass. That's why I say when you first play this game, play a blue pill. Take the blue pill. Like Cipher said, take the blue pill. Um, uh, we have various multipliers, right? So, we have matrix mode multipliers, which I just mentioned that you can get from training. Uh, we have the one. So, there's a neo target over here. You hit the neo target three times. What about the purple pills? You could take those, baked, go for it. We have, what's up, baked? We have the neo shot here. here. You hit it three times and you light the one on the left in lane and if you roll over that, the game will tell you, okay, the next shot you take will be um I think a 2x multiplier on it.
2x, correct?
Yeah, that'll be a 2x multiplier. So, if you if you're careful, right, you can be in a mode. The final shot to every mode is this shot up to the phone booth. So, if you can figure it out, get Neo lit, hit this lane, shoot your phone booth, you've doubled your matrix mode, plus whatever training you did adds more. So, you could get a pretty big score if you are truly the one. Um, other miscellane miscellaneous features. I wish the blue pill call out. I wish I took the blue pill call out, Andre. Oh, so and clear. We have lots of call outs and light shows that are not in the game yet. Okay, we just have a we have a smattering of of call outs and really no light shows just yet. These are default light shows, but you trust me. Oh, I have many many call outs.
Yes. Uh what's up, Metat? What's up? Here's your original table. Thank you so much. Yeah, we really we really want to do original table after doing like three remakes, right? The fishbowl.
Yeah, totally. Um, yeah. So, miscellaneous features is follow the white rabbit. As you guys saw, when you're in a hub mode, it's basically spelling map or spelling van like Foo Fighters, right? You have to qualify your matrix modes. That's that's white rabbits. Blue and red pill. We talked about you get asked once normal or difficult um difficulty agent drop targets right here. Agents only agents are supposed to agents are supposed to only show up during matrix modes. And if you pick the blue pill, they take a lot longer to show up. But if you pick the red pill, they find you faster and they will get in your way and you have to kill them.
Um,
but there's some outs for that, you know, some helpers.
If you train, you can get some help.
Yes.
For them. Um, and then there is a mode uh that is uh defic. going to get through it in the next couple of months. It's a battle mode where if you want to hang out in modes and kill agents, cuz you can hang out in a mode and just wait for agents to pop up and try and take out as many agents as you want. You hit a certain number of agents and that will light um battle agent Smith at the scoop, which is basically the battle with Neo and like the hundreds of agents. And uh think um think Cactus Canyon, right, with the uh the bandits. So, it's going to be something like that. It'll be another multiball. It'll be a lot of fun. Um, so that'll be that. Um, quickly, there's a hack. So, underneath this flipper, there's a shot. There's a shot underneath that flipper. Thank you, Eric Miner. Cuz like every Eric Miner game has a shot under the flipper. Well, we have a shot under the flipper. And that is your hack. You have to activate your hack though by training. I think it's you do jump training, you can activate the hacks. And then and then once you've hacked, once you got hacked, um it gets you through modes in different things, different you get different perks depending on which mode you're in. Um but it's significantly advances your ability to do stuff because you're hacking the matrix, right? Hack the matrix
under it when flipped, I guess. Um
yeah, when you flip it up.
Yeah. Yeah. It's it's there's no way to get it right now, Terry.
It's supposed to look clear. So when the next bake happens, that black over there, you'll see it's clear under there. You'll be able to see it.
Yeah. Yeah. Once again, this is not the final bake. So this is it. Um deja vu deja vu loops right here. And uh uh uh one thing I did a question is the playfield display screen just another custom pup window?
Yes, that was easy. Um,
correct.
Um, one of the things that we didn't want to do making this game was we didn't want you to be Neo. Um, you know, you have to decide who the who the player is representing in the game. Um, and the Fishbowl and I decided we don't necessarily want to be Neo, but we want to go through the game with the characters. So you're you are you you're kind of like the the hands to tank. Tank is the operator. So Tank this is Tank's screen and also your screen. You are you really baked. You are you. And um as you go through the game, Tank can tank can tell you or offer help to what to do during modes. But there are times in the game where you are not a good guy. I'll just say that much. Um, in fact, this loop here, which is similar to u, I guess Iron Maiden, is that right? Um,
yes, somewhat.
If you shoot the Dja Vu loop enough times, I think it's four times. Uh, somebody dies. Let's just put it that way. I'm going to just say somebody dies and you've you get points for doing a bad thing. So, uh, that's déja vu. Believe is a captive ball. If you spell believe, then you get to go through the scene where Morpheus is trying to get Neo to believe. And if you don't make it through believe, uh, Neo basically pukes. Um, uh, boy, there's a lot to this game. There are character upgrades up here. There's there's four one, two, three, four, five standup targets up here that you can shoot. you you you don't need to remember all of the specs, okay? That you can shoot, that you can upgrade your characters. Um, but one one of the things I really and the object of the game is to collect matrix letters. As you do things, you get a matrix letter for what you've done. If you could spell matrix, you get to the one mode. The one thing I wanted to show you guys though, it's very important that you know this. Um,
we never saw Star Wars.
Well, let me just say that the Fishbowl and I have seen Star Wars,
but
we haven't we hadn't seen the Star Wars pin
before the game came out. Obviously, we saw it with everyone else. Um, so I'm I'm going to tell them about spoons. The fishbowl.
Nice. Yeah, that's what I was going to say. Don't forget spoons.
Spoons were in the game, I think, right from the beginning, right? Um,
yep.
The concept of using spoons from the little ball kid and the Oracle, there is no spoon. Everyone's like, "Well, what about spoon boy? There is no spoon." Well, he's here. And as you can see in the back glass, you have a spoon icon. Um, right now the game is coded where you get two spoons. You can only use spoons in a mode in a matrix mode. Oh, I got a I got I got a sandal lock. Wow, look at me. Let that bounce. You can only use spoons in a matrix mode. to the matrix.
Okay, so I'm going to try and get into this Matrix mode. Can I backhand it? Oh no. Oh boy. And I'm telling you guys better get good at this shot. Yes, with the backhand. Let's go. Right orbit is you got to get good at it.
All right, so check this out. I'm going to go into a mode. Let's go into wake up Neo. All right, we have to choose our red pill, blue pill. This time I'm going to choose red pill.
Flipstream. Every scene is skippable. Yeah, we had someone like made a request for that on one of his uh reviews. Brought a tear to my eye. It brought a tear to your eye. Who do you think spent hours making these stupid screens? The very f I chat, listen to me, chat. The very first time Flipstream flipped this game, he he was a flip. He was a double flipping maniac. He skipped everything. And if he couldn't skip a scene, he looked at the camera and went, "I need to be able to skip that."
I'm not kidding. [Laughter] I want to skip this. So, I sent the video to the fishbowl. The fish was like, "Oh, all right." Uh, so spoons once again. If I if I go to drain, check this out. Ready? And
right now, the way the game is coded, you get two spoons. Notice I only have one spoon left. You get two spoons for uh for free. There are ways to get other spoons. You can get spoons from the Oracle. You can get spoons from training. But there's your ball save. Now, the reason I say we didn't know about Star Star Star Wars is because that's it's similar to the Yoda um it's similar to the Yoda mechanic.
Um I had to force myself to add skipping. Yeah, Terry. Yeah, everybody wants to skip, you know. I can back in that. Oh. Oh, can I? Yes. The other way they get spoons is through microtransactions.
Let me see if I can lock. This is a This is a a cool like loop. If I get
Oh, well, I wasted that cuz I wasn't going to drain. Oh, agent. Oh, jeez. Thanks, agent. Come on.
I've played this game much better than this. The fishbowl. You've seen me.
Yes,
I have.
Um, let's do this. You could also You guys You guys are still doing your spoon jokes. I love it. Still with the spoon.
Subscribe to SP for $19.99.
My EMP multi bowl is ready.
All right, let's
There's a squiddy up there.
I got a Squiddy up there. Yeah. Um, so a lot of the stuff that um, see. Oh, we got Zion going. All right.
Hey, Flipstream. I can skip this. Now I've stacked this mode with this multiball. right now.
Squiddy does.
Yeah, the Squiddy moves here. You you you take over chat. I'm going to try.
Yeah.
Hard.
The uh So, another question was like, what are the boxes on the left? So, the top one is your multiplier um for your mode multiplier. The next one is spoons uh that you can get. And then that's you can get a ball saved by hitting the action button. And then the last one is the EMPs. as you hit spinners. Um, you can charge up and get EMP multiball by holding the action button. So, just to be clear, spoons are tapping the action button. Press and hold starts the MP.
Come on. Get it.
It's open.
I can see it's open. Division.
Sorry.
Um, so guys, I finished that mode while I was in the multiball. Um, let's do let's do let's do uh let's do jump. I finished that mode while I was in the multiball. Great. I just couldn't finish the multiball. Um, from a number of modes wizwizard, how does this stack up to newer sterns? Looks like a lot to do. Uh, you want to take that one, do fishbowl?
Yeah. So I mean like the basic thing is like there's seven base modes and then three mini wizards and then the final wizard but and then the so I mean not too bad from what I guess on basic sterns but the uh but then we've added a lot of other side modes you know just to you know to make it fun right I mean there's training to make things easier so there's three training modes there's um you know three multiballs there's There's um
Zion Frenzy,
Zion Frenzy, Agent Battle,
Agent Battles,
Dja Vu,
Deja Vu,
all the stuff you can get from the Oracle upgrades.
That font is uh seven pitch. Look, look, if you're gonna have this at home, well, so so one of the things that we love to do uh the fishbowl was we we we're trying to give you kind of a a premium experience in a game. Not to say that nobody else is, but I feel like the Fishbowl, I feel like we're emulating like Sternish, Jersey Jackish kind of kind of games with rule sets.
Um
yeah, that was the goal, right? to how close can we get to what Stern and Jersey Dak Check do as a full homebrew, right? The depth and all the visuals and everything.
Yeah. And so, uh, the idea is to give you stuff to do if you if you don't want to play matrix modes. The idea is that if you're just in the, you know, once the ball serves into the shooter lane, you have four or five different things you can, I mean, you have to all the multiballs plus believe, deja vu, training, you have all the stuff you can do. You can get to a certain point just by flipping around. But once you learn the rules just like with any other pinball machine, then you start to lock in and say, "Okay, how do I get to that wizard mode? How do I get to the first or second wizard mode?" Stuff like that. Um, mini wizard mode. Um, I'm gonna try a jump program right now. skippable flip stream. All right, training is explained right here, but basically it's Morpheus jumps. Then I have to hit the captive ball. And training modes are timed modes. Oh boy. Training modes are timed modes. Get it. Got it.
Got it. Now you got to get out.
Now I got to get out. Oh crap. Now I got to get out. Oh crap. I got 10 seconds. [Laughter]
Modes are continuable, too. So when you start a mode again, you continue where you left off.
Yes. Very re really good po. Really good point. Um if I got halfway through, you know, Neo and Actually, I want to do that one. Neo and Smith
to kickback, Terry. Like Foo Fighters.
Is there a bumper sling under the white ramp
on the right? Like Foo Fighters?
Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right here, you mean? Right.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's it's like Foo Fighters. Yeah. Um, thanks, Apous and Dark Chaos. Um, yeah. Yeah. So, if I'm in the middle of of uh Neo and and Smith and I drain, I all I have to do is get back in and I start. And what's really nice is that um the fishbowl, I hadn't noticed you did this. Um I had noticed you did this. Let me see if I could get in this mode. Oh boy. Use that ball save. Use that ball save. Hey, I got a second ball. Let's go. Um, when you're in the middle of choosing modes, it tells you the shots that are coming up next.
Yep. That was that was your son's request.
Oh, that was Micah's request.
Yeah, Michael's like, "Hey, it doesn't show me what shots are available for the mode." I was like, you know, every other Stern I know does that, you know? So,
yeah. So, so for this mode, these the this is the shot that you're going to take first right over here. Um, if I walk over to Neo and Smith, which I'm going to do right now. Um, the bullet time shots the first one. So, that's really pretty cool. I didn't even notice that until like today that we did that. All right. This is the subway showdown. So nice. The playfield screen tells you Yeah. to look at the DMT. Yeah. Look up. What's up, Breeze? All right.
Okay. First thing I got to do is hit a bullet time shot. And it's either one. It's either left or right. All the shots get lit on the table. There's two two phases to this. Hit as many shots as you can. If you hit the captive ball, it spots you a shot. Okay, the timer is Whoa.
The timer is going. I could start a multiball right now if I wanted to, actually. EMP is ready. I think I'm going to try and start. Oh god, it's freaking agents. Those agents come out of nowhere. Come on, get it. Dodge this. Thank you, Trinity.
She's a badass, isn't she? There we go.
So, that's the two targets on the left and right of the center shot. Light dodge this.
Trinity and help relights. Dodge this. All right. So, now I'm stacking this with the mode. The trick though is the mode is waiting for me to shoot the scoop and I am in. Okay, so I got the scoop and as you guys can see all your shots are lit. So orange, yellow shots are lit and blue shots for the multiball. Um, one cool thing about this mode is that if I let the pop bumpers hit, they damage Agent Smith. So, I'm gonna let the pop bumpers feed. Boom. Boom. Boom.
And Agent Smith has been defeated. And I finished the mode. Now I'm back in the multiball. This multiball is tricky because you have to clear all the blue shots. Oh boy, this gets crazy. Oh my god. Can I clear all the blue shots? Jesus Christmas.
They love your big fonts, Monty.
Oh, thank you. Oh, come on. Just clear all of them.
Oh, wait. Is Super lit? No, Super's not lit yet.
Oh my god.
Oh, you just got that left one.
I know. I know. You know what the fish?
I'll shut up.
Come on. Right there. Give me. Ah, come on. Come on. Ah, now we started Zion frenzy. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Chill. Chill. Chill. Ah. There's that shot you were looking for.
Yeah.
All right. So, you saw they all went rainbow on you. It was real quick. But that shot he shot was for 2x.
That was a one shot. Yeah.
Yeah.
It's I find it it's tricky to use those one shots. Um but if you can, they're they're going to be very lucrative. I can backhand this. Oh crap. Let me see how legit how far I can actually get now. Oh no. Okay, I need to clear more white rabbits. If you need to know how many white rabbits you need, just wait and then this will show you. Okay, one shot left. Okay, one white rabbit left. Got it.
For my next mode, I'm going to use my EMP. Um, see if I can backhand this. Nope, it's not going to make it. Okay, let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Got it. Okay. Technical question, man. Do you have all the rights to this like you have for an actual pinball machine? No. This is a homebrew. Consider this a homebrew.
Nothing's going to nothing's going to happen like unless you get the rights. Like this won't this will never be able to be created unless you get the rights from I think Warner Brothers or whoever owns the rights to the Matrix. But this is considered a homebrew and that's about it. Yeah. Yeah. No cash. Just changing hands. What's up, Gmy? All right. I'm going to I'm going to do this um wake up Neo with um EMP cuz the fishbowl if I can manage to get all three of these modes done I can start a wizard mode a mini wizard mode and we're going to EMP this right now.
Oh, that was close.
I think we have 20 modes coded. I think the only mode that's not coded is the agent battle and the final wizard.
Yep. So, I'm in this multiball, but I still got to
focus on the shots I need to take. And that's going to be the right orbit, which is a tricky shot.
Oh, I'm done.
Oh, I just wasted this the fishbowl. I just wasted this
multiball. All right, let's get points then.
Yeah.
Okay, ready. Move the balls out. [Music]
Ball save still on. That was good.
Ball safe. Yeah, you can get that first one if you have ball save on. Oh, come on.
Wait, was Oh, I got a ball save. Okay. No,
no, no.
Uhoh.
Time to get real.
What the heck is this?
Time to get real. Let's go.
Nice.
Got one more ball. Come on. I got to get to that. I wasted that so bad. It was so bad, man. Oh my god. I thought by getting real you were gonna have Rick come and play it for us. Yes. Well, we know who's going to blow this game up. That would probably be Rick. The battery animations were courtesy of Monu. All the back glass and the playfield DND. Um, all that's Monu tearing it up.
Three rabbits. Give me something. She always offers you food. Do you ever notice the oracle always offers you food? [Laughter] I love that. Take a cookie. Take a cookie. Let's get a Zion lock. Let's upgrade. Can we upgrade? Okay, I'll take a a Zion lock.
Take a Zion lock. That's cool. Give me that 2x. There we go. That 2x bonus. Oh my my deja vu loop is
nice.
Have we implemented a tilt?
No.
No, we have not implemented tilt yet.
It's great for testing.
Um,
so you can bail out, too.
I can bail I'm going to bail out. Yeah,
if you guys want, you can hold both flippers and just bail out of training. And I'm going to do that right now. That means you you don't have to train if you don't want to, which is great. You can also bail out a matrix mode. So, if you get up there by mistake and you don't want to do a matrix mode yet, you can hold both flippers and bail out. Flipstream, man. Your video, while brutal, it was like spoton, man. Everything needed to be said. off. Come on. See, this is where I get stuck. I always try and backhand that shot. All right. Just like in regular pinball, go do something else for a while. Oh my god. Go do something else for a while.
If it ain't raining, you ain't training. So, it's at this point the fishbowl where I'm thinking, can I get another multiball? Right. So, my EMP is at 41%. The more EMP multiballs you get, the harder it is to get EMP multiball. So, that may be out of the question. Maybe I shoot up this ramp and lock another. Yeah, but she got that.
Believe is ready. Should we look at believe? Let's do believe.
Yeah, let's do believe.
Hit white shots. Oh, no. Don't drain.
Okay.
You're good. Flipstream.
Believe.
No hard feelings here.
Believe Neo. This is the world.
Believe, Neo.
That gives me time. I need a white shot. I need a white shot. Oh, here we go. Here we go. Here we go. Believe.
Oh,
we used AI for some of the
call outs, but there's no no AI in the game.
The fishbowl. I almost made it.
I know.
Did you see that?
I did.
I almost made it. I almost got Neil to believe. One shot away from believe.
It's a question though. Does believe continue? I don't think it does.
No, believe doesn't continue. Um, that's kind of on purpose.
But I mean, if you guys get angry during if the beta testers are like, "Let believe continue." Then we'll then they'll say it like that. not believe continue then we'll let
just make it a feature in the DMD settings.
Yeah. Yeah.
Turn it on,
right?
Flipstream votes. No. Um
yeah, continue. So modes continue, but right now training and believe and stuff like that don't continue. Um the object is it's got to be got to be kind of tough, you know, like
Yeah. Let's get that bullet time going.
Love this.
What's up, old Greg?
All right.
Uh,
yep. December.
All right. All right. Um, plus believe. Oh, I do get believe bonus points, though. Yes, you do.
Yes. Yes.
So, the more you Oh, I get it. So, the fishbowl, the more you can make him believe, the more points you get. Um,
correct.
Add it to your uh added to your completed modes. To your modes, period.
To your modes.
Oh, nice. Okay, cool. Merry Christmas to us. Yes. All right. So, I think that's I think that's good, right? Yeah, I think we touched on everything.
Yeah. Um here I had one other thing to show you guys. Um and it's let me see. So, um, what was the what was the, um, did, so the fish bowl, did you have the Matrix? Because when you brought it to the Pin Credibles, like
did you already have like while you were finishing up like um, Iron Maiden, did you like
Matrix, got to do Matrix, got to do Matrix. What was your thoughts? Tell me your thoughts about that.
Yeah, man. Well, I mean, like I said, in the very beginning, it was like, man, I really want to do a Matrix one. It was my dream one, but then we were like, okay, well, we're going to do Matrix. You like But, you know, honestly, the uh when you know, we did Guardians and then we did, you know, Batman 66 and I was like, "Okay, now Matrix." But then we I was like um Maiden and then I was like, "Okay, now Matrix." But if I did it early,
I wouldn't have known all those details of how a real pinball machine works. And so it it wouldn't it wouldn't have been half this.
Right. Right. because because when we got to doing this um the fish bowl, you had learned so much between Guardians and now um
oh my god, just the queueing of screens, you know, and those functions. I mean, the ball saves, the outlane drains and kicking out a ball. I mean, there's so many minor details that I mean, honestly, I mean, Manu and the other devs, you know, say like, uh, hey, man, a real pinball machine does this. And those that just wasn't there. And I mean, I couldn't I it wouldn't have been nowhere near this. So, props to you and all the devs for the comments. Even you, Flipstream, man. Thanks for those comments, man. Making it real.
Yeah. Yeah. You can you can clearly tell this is built on all the previous work you're killing with this thing. Yeah. I mean I I I you know we're we're closing up. We we'll be finishing up in just a second. But I gotta say, you know, the fishbowl your your journey of and the fact that you're building the game now. Your journey of going from oh I think I can code a little bit of Guardians to I have a Whitewood of my game that I designed in my garage is it blows my mind. And there was a lot of times where, you know, this game could be kind of a black box, right, where you don't know what's going on until you really know what's going on. And um I'm sure everything that
everything that PCredibles, you know, myself and and a couple other people have mentioned to you about pinball and then everything you learned doing um Iron Maiden from those guys, which was insane. Um and now this, we can put all that in here. The queuing system in this guys is not only ridiculous. I mean, if you kept 12 things queued up, it goes through them all, but you can skip them, too. It's just it's the code that he wrote in this is it's nerd nerdy. Very nerdy.
Oh, man.
It's redonulous. It's It's very nerdy. Here, check this out. This is um this is currently
Oh, yeah.
the flowchart for Matrix. Um it's not complete once again we guys we got another couple of months to go but right now uh you can see you have the three uh um you have the training modes you have all the 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 regular modes and everything feeds into matrix letters right you have level ups you have we have um battle agent smith over in the lower right and we have believe um we have the mini wizard modes so there's you know this this This this this was a love letter to the Matrix and this is us really like diving deep into the lore. I've watched so many Matrix there's YouTube channels devoted to the Matrix. Didn't know that. Right. Um, so anyway, yeah, this is this is we we we want to give you guys um I'm going to turn that off because it's it's not even a Let's turn that off. We wanted to give you guys There it is. an experience. You download this, you update all your pup stuff, you download this, you if you're flipping on a desktop, if you're flipping on a cabinet, if you're flipping in VR, it's just insane. We want to give you guys a premium like experience in uh an original homebrew. And so I hope we
It's all about taking it to the next level.
Yep. Even if we have to beg and plead with Nailbuster to add things.
Yeah. Yes.
Um,
props to everybody and all the help.
Props to everybody. Yeah.
Like this whole list of people here. Thank you guys so much. Anything you want to add to Fishbowl before we call it?
No, man. It's just phenomenal. It's just loving it.
It's weird. We don't have to keep secrets anymore.
I know, right? It's good to have it out, you know? Everybody keeps asking, "So, what are you working on? When can I can I help test?" you know, so it's it's good.
When um as if I don't know once again, but when do you think we'll have uh when do you when did you want to do the beta and get some players doing beta on this?
So we said like mid November we wanted to open up the beta a bit and uh
so and then get all the way to mid December hopefully for a good release. And so Manu's been busting hard on this and so I mean it's
he's knocked out a lot of it and uh the uh but yeah just really get a whole smattering of stuff because there's there's always corner cases. So and we need to start throwing in the multiplayer, right? I mean it's coded base for multiplayers, but there's we need to do a lot of testing for multiplayer. So
who's at a free gold watch? Um yeah, speaking of speaking of which, um the fishbowl Yeah. One thing that has to be coded up is this.
Yeah.
Right. And someone asked someone asked a long time ago. So there's there's your four players, but someone asked a long time ago if Scorbit was going to be implemented on the the plan is yes.
We're not going to promise it for the 1.0 no release, but the plan is yes to have this full score bit enabled um at least with scores. Maybe achievements will come later and so that when you sign in you can see MPT3K and Flipstream and IROD and the fishbowl, you know, you can sign in. Co-op play. Um okay, we're not going to get into that the weeds of that right now, but um
not for version one, definitely not. So,
yeah. Thank you, Terry. One thing I did ask the fishbowl for was um can we have just one kind of mini game of just EMP multiball? So that if you hold the flippers, you can choose EMP multiball, like a race to EMP multiball. And it's basically how many times can you fill up all the batteries and hit the super before you lose all the balls and then have a high score there. So I'm going to put that out in the world for the fish ball.
Yeah. No, I like it. I like it.
Um let's see. Oh, it's still going. Yes, Astra. We're closing up right now. Come back.
Um Oh, it's still going. Y'all have no idea. Yeah, beta testing. Wait,
flip stream. It's fully charged. It's fully charged. Yeah, I have
some bugs never go away.
When that bug was in the game. Um, oh my god, challenge mode play. Yes. Yeah, challenge mode play. Um, those player number fonts are huge. Yes. Well, they're going to be um the last thing you want is not to be able to see your score, right? You want to see your score. Um, let's see. Like when Astro convinced me to get rid of a third bumper on MOTU uh that threw all my plans out. Whack. Damn it. Best thing ever. Yeah, there you go.
You got to learn how to divest from those dreams that you love on sometimes. It's just like, yeah, that's that was a good concept, but throw it away.
The the the the whole EMP thing started, I think, with use an example. EMP started with, okay, you're in a mode. You earn an EMP and then you hit the action button, the flippers die, the draws drain, you clear the mode or something like that.
Yeah, it just finishes the mode for you.
It finishes the mode for you. Yeah. And then we kind of went back and forth on that a lot. I was like, well, how was that fun, right? How was that?
Yeah.
A challenge.
Um, yeah, it was like a super boom. But the funny thing about all the iterations of EMP multiballs, they all had flippers dying,
right?
Yeah.
They all had a thing where the flippers died. So then once we moved it
to a multiball, all I had to do is see Morpheus say,
you know, they turn human beings into this. And he holds the Duracell battery up
and I go,
gotcha. Yep. We can feel it when you're like, "That's it."
Yeah.
Throw everything else away. That's it.
Yeah.
And yes, Terry, sometimes all that work just
goes in the trash.
You gota By the way, what was that free video effects website you mentioned? You wish you knew about sooner? No, no, no. Mostly pirate. It was It's not a free site. It's the fact that Film Impact is now uh bought into uh Premiere. Premiere. Basically, Adobe bought Film Impact and all the transitions are free, which I've been paying for for the last three years. And Tony of Living Arcade had mentioned that to me on his stream yesterday and I got pissed. Um Um I think that's it. Yeah. Yeah. And I'm h I'm happy to do more of these when we get the ball rolling because now the fishbowl is nice. We can kind of open this up and like show the development of where things are going. Um,
definitely.
Yeah. So, thank you guys. Um,
thank you everybody.
Yeah.
Oh, let me turn let me turn that back on because I had to I had to turn off the the outside noises. We are going I'm going So, I'm not streaming at 8. I'm not streaming at 8 o'clock. I'm actually um Pinball Addict. Thank you so much. Thank you so much. Uh I'm going to be joining Homegrown and Pepper on their stream as uh I yell at Homegrown for playing Harry Potter in in exactly the wrong way. So, I'm going to be on the stream while he tries to fumble his way through Hogwarts. And I'm going to tell him, "You're doing everything wrong." And we're going to have some fun. That'll be in an hour. Looks dope. Can't wait to play. Thank you, Mostly Pirate. Thank you. Thank you. Oh my god. If you're interested in beta testing things, PayPal Astro 50. Oh my god. Astro.
