## Analysis

Cary Hardy trades away his Jackpot pinball machine (a WPC 95 DMD game in good condition) plus cash for a Black Knight 2000 (designed by Steve Ritchie) that requires LED restoration. He explains the decision was made with his wife's approval, noting Jackpot never quite resonated with him despite owning it for five years, while Black Knight 2000 complements his existing Steve Ritchie games like Swords of Fury.

### Key Claims

- [MEDIUM] Jackpot is not a rare game, just not as common as Star Trek: The Next Generation in collections — _Cary explaining why he chose Jackpot over STNG from a two-for-one deal five years ago_
- [HIGH] Black Knight 2000 and Swords of Fury share similarities including two playfields and both have Brian Schmidt soundtracks — _Cary directly comparing the two games in his collection and noting design/audio parallels_

### Signals

- **[collector_signal]** Deliberate effort to cluster Steve Ritchie games with complementary design/audio features (two playfields, Brian Schmidt soundtracks) within the same collection space (confidence: high) — i knew it was going to look and be so good right next to my Swords of Fury... a lot of similarities are between the two titles and that is because basically they both have a two play field and brian schmidt did the soundtrack for both games
- **[community_signal]** Cary Hardy soliciting community feedback on trade decision, asking whether viewers would have made the same choice and which game they prefer (confidence: high) — I want to get feedback from you guys to figure out if this is a trade that you would have done as well... what do you feel about this trade was it worth it
- **[market_signal]** Jackpot is noted as not rare but less common in collections than Star Trek: The Next Generation; implies differential demand/desirability for 1990s-era pinball machines (confidence: medium) — it's not a rare game it's just that it's not as common as star trek the next generation
- **[community_signal]** Cary Hardy's acquisition decisions are joint with his wife, indicating household-level decision-making on expensive hobby purchases (confidence: high) — This was something, again, I had to consult with the wife on... Because like I said, I've wanted to get rid of Jackpot for a while. But in order for me to get rid of it, the wife had to give me the approval
- **[product_concern]** Black Knight 2000 acquired in trade requires immediate LED restoration due to dark playfield lighting; suggests older machines may have degraded illumination (confidence: high) — the game plays perfectly fine i just basically need to get leds in there asap it's pretty damn dark

## Transcript

What's up guys and welcome back to my channel where I talk and do everything pinball. So if that sounds interesting to you then hit that subscribe button down below. Out of all the games that you saw behind me there was one that just didn't really grab me to where I felt it needed to stay. And I've been meaning to get rid of this machine for any sort of reason. whether it be to sell, to upgrade, or even possibly work out a trade with something. This one's been on the chopping block for a long while, and that game was Jackpot. Now, I know I'm going to catch some flack from a lot of you, and that is because I know that Jackbot is a game that a lot of you like to play. Jack Danger streams this game quite often because it's one of his favorites, but it just didn't really grab me. I actually bought that game, I want to say, about almost five years ago, and I bought it also with a Star Trek Next Generation game. I got a two-for-one deal. It was a pretty damn good deal, trust me, guys. you won't see a deal like this again and the wife really fancied jackpot over star trek next generation so i went with the jackpot because one of them had to go and one of them was going to stay and i chose jackpot because oddly enough that's not a common game to find in someone's collection not that it's a rare game it's just that it's not as common as star trek the next generation. Now I've even got a video on my channel about two years ago that I put up a couple of videos that had to do with it whenever I was doing the restoration for it and that was how to remove mylar residual on the mylar and another video was actually the restoration reveal and the 4x3 format of it it kind of bad video quality but it gives you a good idea of what that game looked like guys in case you wanted to travel back on my channel far enough to see that so you can see what the game essentially looked like when i traded now comes the part of where I tell you what I got. Now, this was something, again, I had to consult with the wife on. Because like I said, I've wanted to get rid of Jackpot for a while. But in order for me to get rid of it, the wife had to give me the approval because it was essentially her game. She liked it a lot. And only certain games could take its place. And one of those games just happened to be one that she was definitely willing to let Jackpot go for. This is going to be interesting. I want to get feedback from you guys to figure out if this is a trade that you would have done as well, or am I completely insane? And that game is... And in case the video is so crappy, which I think it is, let me just play a little bit of the game and give you an idea of what game it is. I am the Black Knight Oh oh oh You got the power You got the power No way to break the battle We are black men We are black men We are black men Flipping through theDamage I could keep going, but I didn't want it to be basically, hey, you guys watch me play my pinball machine from behind. So there we have it. Black Knight 2000 by none other than Steve Ritchie. So another Steve Ritchie game joins the lineup, and I've been wanting this game for a good while now, guys, and I knew it was going to look and be so good right next to my Swords of Fury and my Getaway especially next to that Swords of Fury since a lot of similarities are between the two titles and that is because basically they both have a two play field and brian schmidt did the soundtrack for both games which are two soundtracks that i don't believe any of you out there could tell me that they suck no swords of fury and black knight 2000 both have great soundtracks but i need to add that this was not just a here's your machine here's my machine trade obviously my game was worth more because one it's a wpc 95 game dmd and it was in a lot better condition than what this black knight 2000 was so it ended up being a trade for his black knight and cash on top of for my jackpot the game plays perfectly fine i just basically need to get leds in there asap it's pretty damn dark uh but as far as restoration goes it will get one it'll be after swords of fury but it will definitely get one this is one of those games that i cannot wait to doll up because it's a game that just already looks really good as it is that's going to wrap up this video it doesn't need to be an extremely long one i just needed to show you that you will no longer be seeing jackpot behind me you will instead be seeing the black knight now i also want to get from you guys is what do you feel about this trade was it worth it was it not worth it what which one do you like better black knight or jackpot let me know in the comments down below if you like what you've seen here give me that thumbs up and if you haven't already do not forget to hit the subscribe button down there that way you can be notified of whenever i upload something for your viewing pleasure until next time guys peace out Thank you.
