## Analysis

Cary Hardy analyzes leaked images of Stern's upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pinball machine, covering all three tiers (LE, Premium, Pro) and playfield layout. He praises the dense, complex playfield design with multiple ramps and mechs but criticizes the art style, believing a comic book aesthetic would have been superior to the 80s/90s cartoon style used. Hardy speculates on gameplay mechanics including Deadpool-like enemy modes, pizza healing via action button, character selection via skill shot, and training-based damage mechanics.

### Key Claims

- [HIGH] The leaked images are primarily low-quality screenshots from an upcoming trailer teaser, with a full reveal likely the next day — _Hardy states: 'these are not high definition quality photos a lot of these images are pretty much what you would consider a snip of the upcoming trailer for the video teaser which will probably be tomorrow'_
- [HIGH] TMNT is based on the 1980s-1990s cartoon style, not Michael Bay films or later cartoon versions — _Hardy confirms: 'it looks like to me is that we are definitely getting the 80s, early 90s cartoon due to the way they look'_
- [MEDIUM] The action button appears to be used for eating pizza (likely health recovery mechanic similar to Deadpool) — _Hardy notes playfield text 'use button to eat pizza' and speculates: 'like the video games that gave you health that is just why i leaning towards what that does'_
- [MEDIUM] The game features enemy modes similar to Deadpool with individual enemy targets (Baxter Stockman, Technodrome, Shredder, Bebop/Rocksteady, Crane) with the Technodrome as likely final boss — _Hardy observes: 'each one of these is basically an enemy. So chances are that this is going to be like Deadpool, that we're going to activate one of these enemies and we have to take them on in a fight'_
- [HIGH] The hang glider toy is exclusive to Premium and LE models and not included in Pro version — _Hardy states: 'this little toy right here is not going to be in all models this is only for more than likely your premium le something to note'_
- [HIGH] T-molding color inconsistency exists on the machine (green t-molding doesn't match darker green armor tones) — _Hardy observes: 'the t-molding does not match the crown not that the t-molding does not match the armor green... but the t-molding and everything does not match the darker tone greens'_

### Signals

- **[sentiment_shift]** Hardy explicitly invites audience feedback on TMNT art style, expecting polarized reception ('very bipolar to people') (confidence: medium) — Hardy: 'This is definitely going to be an art package that is going to be very bipolar to people... I want to know what you think about this game'
- **[design_philosophy]** Art style criticism: Hardy believes comic book aesthetic would have been superior to 80s/90s cartoon style chosen; describes current art as 'not giving me the warm, fuzzy feeling' and 'worst one yet' from Zombie Yeti (confidence: high) — Hardy: 'I think they should have gone with comic book style... I'm thinking that Yeti would have had a friggin' blast doing the comic book style version'
- **[design_philosophy]** TMNT playfield design prioritizes mechanical density and complexity; multiple ramps with unclear routing creates intentionally challenging shot selection unlike recent simpler Stern designs (confidence: high) — Hardy: 'the playfield looks packed it has plenty of mechs and ramps and things to do that is definitely a big thumbs up in comparison to what we've seen from stern lately'
- **[event_signal]** Official TMNT teaser trailer and full reveal expected within 24 hours of image leak; early stream anticipated for following week (confidence: medium) — Hardy predicts: 'chances are we'll actually get the full reveal tomorrow... then we'll get the stream early next week that is my prediction'
- **[leak_detection]** Low-resolution screenshots from upcoming TMNT teaser trailer leaked early, likely 1-2 days before official reveal (confidence: high) — Hardy states 'images leak usually a day or two before the trailer actually drops chances are we're going to get the trailer tomorrow'
- **[market_signal]** Leaked images indicate Stern proceeding with traditional three-tier release strategy (LE/Premium/Pro) with mechanical and cosmetic differentiation (confidence: high) — Hardy systematically analyzes different model tiers with varying features (hang glider, t-molding colors, art packages, interior finishing)
- **[community_signal]** Jeremy Packer (Zombie Yeti) creates TMNT artwork; Hardy's criticism raises questions about creative satisfaction under licensing constraints vs. his previous acclaimed work (confidence: medium) — Hardy notes artist 'has their hands tied when it comes to a particular license' and describes this as possibly his worst work while acknowledging Yeti's previous excellence
- **[product_strategy]** TMNT features three distinct tiers with mechanical differences: LE/Premium include hang glider toy, all three have different art packages and finishing (powder coated rails on LE, t-molding color variations) (confidence: high) — Hardy notes 'this little toy right here is not going to be in all models this is only for more than likely your premium le' and discusses cabinet art and rail differences

## Transcript

We heard it was coming any day now, and so here we have it, leaked images for Stern's next game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Let's go over these, shall we? What's up guys and welcome back to my channel where I talk and do everything pinball. so that sounds interesting to you then hit that subscribe button down below now i know there are some of you out there that are like carrie where the hell have you been i mean but honestly has there been much to really talk about so that really negates making any videos about pinball you know new releases or anything like that as far as like pinball news i do have ideas about that for the future but I'm honestly preoccupied on building this 40 by 16 deck for my backyard as of right now and I'm waiting on certain supplies to come in for other projects that I am working on including my swords of fury so what else is there to do around the house than work outside speaking of which working outside today on the deck and I'm wrapping things up getting all the tools back in the garage and my phone evidently has been blowing up for at least an hour letting me know that leaked images for teenage mutant turtles has been leaked so naturally i have to start looking at all these images and start studying them and seeing what we got now let's go over these images and the thing is these are not high definition quality photos a lot of these images are pretty much what you would consider a snip of the upcoming trailer for the video teaser which will probably be tomorrow chances are we'll actually get the full reveal tomorrow have a youtube full hd video that we are able to dissect these are pretty much screenshots within that trailer now some of these are actually full-blown images that will be on stern's website as well so here is the limited edition now we don't have a guaranteed like notification that this is in fact it but it's got to be it because we have a plate up here which is the le plate as well as powder coated rails and interior blades this is not typical for your premiums or your pros especially uh so let's start from the top and work our way down that's what she said all right so looking at the back glass we have basically everything turtles here we've got all the turtles april o'neill bebop and rocksteady crane shredder the technodrome and the logo So I think I can't really tell, but is that or is that not Casey Jones? I can't really tell from this. It's kind of weird. It's kind of, like I said, not a high definition. So if I'm going strictly art with the back glass, it looks great. I have no problems with the back glass. The back glass is good. but the question remains is what do I think about everything else? Let's continue. So on the LE, what do you get for your art? So you get on your art, on the side cabinet, a giant... What is the name of that device? I don't know the name off the top of my head, but I know what it is. But you've got Bebop and Rocksteady in this device that is able to basically dig from up underneath the ground, and that's how they basically come to the surface from the Technodrome, usually releasing enemies, depending on if you're talking about the video game or the cartoon. And that is the next biggest question that we've been wondering about for the longest time is, what is the theme portion of the Turtles that we were going to get? Would it be Michael Bay? I'm glad it was not Michael Bay's rendition, but would it be the cartoons? Would it be the other version of the cartoons that came out later on in the early 2000s? And so what it looks like to me is that we are definitely getting the 80s, early 90s cartoon due to the way they look. Now, this is, like I said, art is very subjective, guys. Now, this is always going to be something that is going to be a hit or a miss with a variety of people. That's why I'm thinking that when it comes to art, I would hate to be an artist because of the subjectiveness of that. And a lot of the times, the artist has their hands tied when it comes to a particular license. And I'm going to lean towards that being why that I believe there's going to be people out there that do not like this art. We know that Jeremy slash Zombie Yeti is able to give us an art package that is amazing. But this might be the worst one yet. God, that sounds horribly mean. But, I mean, this is one of those things where, and it's, like I said, this is not what I was wanting from Ninja Turtles. This is going to be something that I believe is still going to be perfectly fine for a lot of people out there if you're a Turtles fan, the kids and stuff like that. Trust me, I grew up watching this. I'm a Turtles fan, not hardcore, but this was not the version that it was going to sell me on. now i believe like if you were to zoom in i think i've gone over this in my video i made a while back like the way shredder looks shredder looks awesome on this back glass he's got the wide eyes going on and everything that looks pretty awesome uh no problem with shredder i think my issue and troublesome lies within the way the turtles look the the smiley face well you usually get that from Michelangelo anyways, Raphael looks good and everything. I don't know, but it's not giving me the warm, fuzzy feeling inside that I'd like it to be getting me. And so that's where I believe the weakest point on this package is going to be. I say package, I mean the whole game in its entirety, because we've also got premium and pro to go over. I do not like how this is going to be real picky and nitpicky on my end but the t-molding does not match the crown not that the t-molding does not match the armor green that's a nitpick on my end that's obviously i get that but it's it's sticking out to me a little bit it looks like the speakers have got like the green that matches the t-molding but this t-molding and everything does not match the darker tone greens it looks like that is on the armor. So that is a little bit of a sore thumb that I am seeing. That may be something that a lot of people are not going to look at or care about, but that is my eye immediately gets drawn to that. Let's go over to the next image. And here we have the premium edition of the back glass and even a good portion of the backbox art, which is Bebop and Rocksteady. now this is obviously not as cool looking as the LE but there we have our premium model of the back glass Here is the pro model This gives us a look at basically your basic rendition of this game with the cabinet art as well as the side art and a somewhat decent look at the back glass. Now I'm not sure how far I can zoom in to get us a better look at this before it turns into pixelated garbage but looks like a you know turtles with pizza in new york city as far as what is on the backbox i cannot really get a clear indication of what that is it looks like it might be a shredder right here but let's see can we zoom in a little further on the back glass uh on this image we've also got what looks to be inside like underground if i had to take a guess in their layer but it's hard to tell with that little image and i don't know what this looks to be somewhat of a character of some sorts whether that be a rat a mouse i don't know it's hard to tell what this guy is but i don't know what that is just yet as far as the back glass we've got april and the four turtles right here shredder here and more of the i forgot what these robots were called i should know but i do not remember what those are called i think i may i can't like this is the quality that you're seeing it's quality that i'm seeing guys so i think i may like the pro back glass better than the premium you get the team holding on this one as well so there's just something if you get you a pro model then at least you can either get your stuff powder coated to match the team molding or you can figure something else out but at least it comes with the green tea molding I assume that would be black tea molding honestly so they didn't cheap out and do that and let's see the next image and here is our premium side art package now this looks pretty cool i like this this looks pretty good like the use of the i'm guessing that looks like a purplish pinkish tones to it but uh i like that that looks pretty cool no issues there but this is weird if this is the premium it's got like red team building on it which is kind of strange you figured they would all would have the same green tone but i'm guessing they wanted to go a little more matching with the reds that are on the cabinet art which is fine but okay and here we have the play field for the limited edition Let's start from the bottom and just work our way up. I've got a set of notes here to mention to make sure I hopefully don't forget anything during this process. So my first notes were talking about art. And I've already discussed the art on the exterior. So let's discuss the art on the interior when it comes to the play field and everything. so let's and like I said this is not high quality so bear with me guys and I am not excited about this when it comes to art and the reason like I said the main reason I got to keep stressing this is because I guess that I was hoping it was going to be a different style and they went with the 80s, 90s cartoon which is... I think they should have gone with comic book style. I think they should have gone comic book style and it probably would be even cooler than what this looks like. I'm thinking that Yeti would have had a friggin' blast doing the comic book style version of it instead of having to create this art to match up with the cartoon and going through here is that what's her face i can't remember her name but she played a part in the cartoon i just can't remember her name and then you got april the turtles are here and art wise I believe up underneath here we'll get to those images later this is like the technodrome like underneath ground area where the pop bumpers are located so that is what I think about the art for the play field I'm pretty sure the play field is going to be the same throughout all the models when it comes to art package if not color me surprised but more than likely this is going to match all of them. I don't know. This is a bit of a mess. Just a bit. I'm hoping that when I get some higher resolution images and some video of this game in action that it's going to do more justice to what this art package looks like. So I'm conserving my complete critiques that these images are not doing it justice. More than likely, that is the case. So I'm keeping that in mind too, that this is obviously a low-res, things could get better. Fingers crossed. We'll find out later. all right so now that the art has been discussed let's go over the game now so something i was that we had talking about was there was a mech going to be in this game like the shadow and when i say like the shadow meaning you have a button on the cabinet that causes your daggers to move giving the player more controllability and a more fun factor within a game by having that ability to control where the ball goes that was something that i was really excited about but going over this play field it doesn't look like that's entirely true that that mech is going to be there that looks like there's a diverter but i don't think it's going to be player controlled and even then it doesn't really look like a diverter as much as it is something to stop a ball for more than likely like a multiball or a cut scene for a full motion video or something like that maybe even a video mode something i want to note at the bottom of this play field it says use button to eat pizza now so that negates the possibility of the action button being something that we use to control that mech on the playfield to divert the ball to how we see fit because there are no other buttons on this machine on the size now use button to eat pizza what does that mean more than likely we will be seeing something that's very similar to what deadpool was only we may be able to heal ourselves, get more health by eating pizza. That is just me throwing stuff into the dark and we see if it sticks in the near future but that is what the action button does we eat pizza like the video games that gave you health that is just why i leaning towards what that does and what leans me more towards it being a deadpool-esque version is that we have essentially our our entourage of enemies right here baxter stockman the Technodrome, Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady, Crane, they're all right here. And they've all got these little bitty dot inserts that are very reminiscent to Willy Wonka. That's what I thought about whenever I first saw it, at least. And each one of these is basically an enemy. So chances are that this is going to be like Deadpool, that we're going to activate one of these enemies and we have to take them on in a fight. And it looks like the big one up here is the Technodrome. So that'll probably be the final boss if I had to guess. So we'll see here. Going up a little bit further, we can see in our in-lane and out-lanes, we have a five-lane ratio going on right here. So we've got two in-lanes on our left, one on our right, followed by our out-lane on each side. Moving up the play field, we have our single target for April that you hit. Those light up, and what it does after that, I don't know. Then we have layer on the other side. This is lit up. More than likely, this is going to give us the access to go to our layer and probably get maybe new weapons or upgrades or something like that. And if I had to guess, our lair is located behind this upper flipper. So let's talk about the upper flipper now that this thing has got what looks to be very useful nature in this title, which is good. Because sometimes we'll have certain things thrown into games and they're like, why is that even there? this upper flipper is going to be able to be used to hit this ramp as well as the shot towards crank slash technodrome but it looks like which i'd like that the only way to get to your layer up here is if you hold up your flipper button on the right or the left i'm sorry if you hold up your left flipper button and then aim with your right flipper to launch into your layer that's what I believe now if this is a subway system I do not know yet I don't know if it comes out down here or something but there's an a location for something to happen back here behind your flipper let's move up a little bit more we got two main ramps this one for whatever reason has got an X on it. One metal ramp, one plastic ramp. So we're getting the best of both worlds here. We're getting a little bit of metal, a little bit of plastic. They're not all just your cheap plastic ramps. So there's something. Now this is something that you're only going to see what looks to be on the LE, maybe the premium as well, is the hang glider. Because on the other images that we have this toy is not here it's just the mech up underneath it so that's something to keep note is that this little toy right here is not going to be in all models this is only for more than likely your premium le something to note also before i forget about it is that where you launch your ball you go up a ramp and you have your four turtles right here now is this looks like you know this is what turtle is currently active or what turtle you're currently playing as this is is this something that you choose or is it a matter of when you launch your ball like a skill shot it's a puller method so i wonder if depending on when you pull your plunger and come up here are these like strobing through and depending on what turtle you get depends on what type of perks that you may get whether it be different combos or like ramps mean more for a certain character. These are certain little things that I'm questioning because I'm hoping that it's true. These are a lot of things that I was thinking about on my first turtle video. Let's go up. And it looks like your right ramp feeds around to your right wire form. And eventually after it passes this little mech right here that we still don't know what it does, it leads to your right in lane. your left ramp goes in back behind the box feeds back through the mech and feeds your left flipper now this is something that i can't really tell very well so far and that is where your ball goes after you launch it up this ramp it goes up here but i don't know what happens after right about here i don't know if it keeps going or if it drops down and eventually feeds your flipper down here or what that is something that is still in the air we got three pop bumpers then we have the turtles van which is like a mini turtle van uh that's it's it's mini but i'm glad they've got it on there that is something that i was hoping that they would have on there and something else i was hoping that they would have on there is the fact that it looks like it has the ability to hold balls for multiball so that is something that you'll see in an image coming up and when it comes to mechs and things to go over for this image I believe that is all on to the next picture so here we have a shot from above the upper left flipper now what are we seeing we're seeing that this is more than likely your pro model because we don't have any artwork on the side and we are also missing the hang glider that sits right here this is what's weird is that that you've got this mech right here but i don't really understand how it works just yet which is a good thing because it doesn't look like it's able to actually stop the ball if it rolls down here looks like it has plenty of room but i could be wrong and this right here looks like okay so we have this yeah we've already discussed this like no we haven't okay so yeah the far left outlet not let the far left orbit oh okay i think i see now okay so your far left orbit looks like it goes around but it also looks like it goes up a ramp as well and where it goes after that i don't know but it looks like this cuts off this ramp right here this plastic ramp looks like it may be coming from when we launch our ball so chances are when you launch your ball this is where it's going to be coming from that's what it looks like to me um i'm i'm liking that the reasoning behind i'm liking that this is not easily basically i'm able to dissect where everything goes the play field looks packed it's got a lot going on this play field we've got ramps that are going everywhere it's a little bit difficult to figure out where things are going or where to go next this is like this takes me back to like x files um maybe even 24 i had to like look at the map on that game again but very looks kind of convoluted in a way so that's what i'm liking about this game so far also is that it looks like it's got a lot in there when our past recent games look pretty bear. So upper flipper looks like it would definitely go up here as well as this upper ramp. Now is this upper ramp I think we saw the images earlier Wait man like I said it a little convoluted here so yep i don know if you hit up this lane right here if it just drops into the poppers and comes out or if it's able to actually come around in a loop i hope that it doesn't just come up here and then drop in the pops and then it's out i'm hoping it would loop around but i'm thinking it's going to do that because chances are if you hit this loop with that flipper, you're going to be flying. And you'll very rarely ever be getting into the pops unless you hit it from another trajectory. So we shall see. On to the next picture. Here we have the turtle van. And this is, chances are, the premium or the LE edition because I see the tail end of the hang glider. and there's also some sort of mech thing right here i don't know what this is that's something new and that's pretty much about it see we got opto sensors right here and right here so that's letting the system know that you're making those shots so here is the shot behind the flipper that goes into maybe the layer that's what it looks like to me it looks like we go in here and what happens after that i do not know yet then we have our spinning disc pizza this is something that was in the old data east version as well i don't think it had a magnet on it correct me if i'm wrong but i don't believe there was a magnet on there so i think it just spun around the old data east version And so this having a magnet is more reminiscent to the game Twister as well as many other games. But that's the one that I thought of. This is just an image of some of the artwork and the fact that the ball can spin around. This looks like it's got three balls on there and it's just going to spin around and go crazy. And here is a picture of the hang glider a little bit closer up. Looks like we got Raphael on there. And I can't really tell what's going on with this thing. I cannot wait to see the teaser video for this machine because I want to see this thing in action. Both of these ramps have two different bulbs and training on there. So chances are, I mean, it's kind of self-explanatory that you need to hit these ramps so you can train and become a better fighter against the opponents that you will be taking on. So that's kind of interesting as well. I wonder if like if you try taking on the shredder too soon or crane too soon that you will be doing a lot less damage because you have don't have the amount of training. oh my goodness i wonder if you try taking on those particular bosses too soon that if you don't have the amount of training required or needed you're either one going to be getting your ass kicked or two is just going to be a very long mode or you're just not going to do very well because you don't have enough training to give enough damage out that's how i think it should work but maybe something completely different we will see all right so this is probably the premium because they still have the hang glider and it just gives you a little bit different angle of what the play field looks like I'm thinking from this angle it looks like we may yeah that's probably why we have two inlanes is because you're gonna go into the layer and eventually it's gonna go down here and then drop the ball in here to feed your left flipper hmm okay so that's more than likely why we have that going on okay interesting here is our pop bumpers in the pro version because i don't see a hang glider and we have crane but it also looks like we've got one of those pop-up you know portions right here to stop a ball for like a to lock a ball like a virtual lock that's what that looks like from the little bit that I can see right here mmm and then this is the Technodrome so that's how it looks like you're going to be destroying the Technodrome is using the left flipper to shoot up here and then drop down in here to beat the hell out of the Technodrome and some of these images are very poor so I apologize guys this is just what we've got to work with and so this is the pro because we don't have the hang glider right here so that gives you a much better idea of what the pro is going to look like inside of the game comparison differences of the le and premium and i think i don't see anything new that sticks out to me in this image here is the flipper area a little closer view of that i don't know like i said it's mainly the art that's that's turning me off and uh like i said oh man okay we're just gonna move on and that's all of the images that have been leaked so far guys chances are we will be getting a teaser slash even just the full trailer tomorrow that's just how these things typically work images leak usually a day or two before the trailer actually drops chances are we're going to get the trailer tomorrow and then we'll get the stream early next week that is my prediction i could be completely wrong but by all means if i do find anything else out i'll be sure to let you guys know so first impressions is that i'm loving how the game looks like it is packed like it has plenty of like you know mechs and ramps and things to do that is definitely a big thumbs up in comparison to what we've seen from stern lately the downside to this is that i feel that the art man i it's it's not it's not it's not giving me the feels it's not going to be for me. This is definitely going to be an art package that is going to be very bipolar to people. There's going to be things that they like and then things that they do not like. But I'm hoping that the gameplay is so great that the art package is not going to be a turn off for people to get the game. Is it on first impressions and leaked images alone? Is it something that I'm interested in okay so art aside yes because i want to see what this game looks like being played it looks like it has a full set of everything in there i want to see how this thing plays and hopefully it plays great and the thing is i just don't know what art package i want to go with so that is my first thoughts and impressions on just the leaked images alone guys i want to know what you think about this game this is something that you're interested in am i right am i wrong what do you think let me know down in the comments down below and if you haven't already do not forget to hit the subscribe button down there that way you can be notified of whenever i upload something for your viewing pleasure until next time guys Peace out.
