Hey, butthead, someone like store women. That's fucks. Yeah, it doesn't just fuck, butthead. It's like, it really fucks. We're like, never score, we're gonna be whoopies forever. It's gonna suck. Settle down, Beavis. No, no, butthead. No, I can't settle down. It's not fair. We're not gonna score. It's like, we'll get cars, and we'll have a job, and we'll have to go like, mow lines, and scrub the grill, and we're not gonna score ever. Hey! I warned you about that! Don't make me come up there! Shut up, Adelaide! You probably score! And you're a dork! I'm never going to score! Whoa. This is cool. Coming to you from beautiful upstate New York, this is the Slam Tilt Podcast, a show about all things pinball. I'm your host, Ron Hallett, here with my co-host, Bruce Nightingale. I'm back, back in machines. I'm back, back and moving in machines. Okay. That's fantastic. And welcome to episode 37, License to Kill. Yes. It's the second Timothy Dalton, or as I like to call him, Prince Barron. Prince Barron. As he goes rogue. Yes. And he loses his license to kill. Yes. But he keeps killing. Yeah, so he's like an illegal killer. And I think, doesn't, the one thing I do remember about that movie, isn't that where Felix dies? Yes. Because that's when he wants to get revenge and all that. Okay. Yes. That's about all I remember about the movie. Sorry. Yep. Done. Done. Done. we have a guest because this is the pre-Papa extravaganza we'll try to get this out at least before Thursday, I'm going to try to get it out before Thursday if I can it's going to be a two-parter we're here with part one with our first guest you are the first guest, but the second guest is ranked a little higher but not too much higher but the second guest has some work obligations. Yes, he does. And he can't make the circuit finals. Or the first few days of qualifying. Bummer. All the good stuff going on at Papa. But our guest, Tim Sexton. Hello. Hi, Tim. He will be there. He will be at the circuit. And he will be at Papa. And he will be helping Ron move the machine. Yes. It's all true. It's all true. And you will not be seeing Bruce weekend at Papa. And Ron will not be seeing Bruce at Papa. Well, well. No. Nope, I'm not going again. But I will see Ron, actually. There'll be no slamming, but there will be tilting. Yes. And I'm actually bringing games back into the house so Ron has more to play. How nice of him. Yes. And you got another game, Bruce? I did. I have partial revenge. I posted a picture today on a Facebook page for a Slam Tilt podcast, and that was I got a scar. Not set up yet, but it's in the basement. Also in the basement I brought back today was Star Trek LE, ACDC Premium, and Metallica Premium back in the basement, not set up. They were down in the barn for a little hiatus. Now they're back. And, by the way, I fucking suck at pinball lately. We know that. 0-3 on a three-strike tournament today. Good thing you're not taking that cold streak into Papa. Yeah, I know. I've had the cold streak since December. So what does that tell you? Well, it's cold in December, so that makes sense. Very cold. Very cold. I'd just like to say, though, welcome. No, we're past the Star Trek references. I can still bring them up. Welcome to the club. Oh, yes. You're part of the Players Club? But it is a different Stars and Rons. Well, yeah, it would have to be, unless you bought mine. No, no, no, totally different. It only has a two-slot coin door on it. Okay. Which is really weird. You remember we were talking about when we saw the pictures. The playfield's pretty nice. It's got one scratch, you know, somebody filled in the scratch from the flipper bat. Like somebody wore it out sometime. Touched up okay. I'm looking forward to putting it together and playing it, and Ron will give his opinion of it next week. I'm sure it won't be as good as mine, because I have the greatest stars on the planet. I don't know about that. Okay. Does it at least have the right chime unit in it? Does it have a chime unit in it? I haven't even looked in it. Oh, boy. There'll be no chime unit. It'll make no sound at all. But then I'll have yours to back up with. Oh, okay. Your spare one. No, I don't have a spare one. I sold that to Zach. I'll just have to beat him up for it. Oh, I thought you got two. I only have a partial. Yeah, see, I can get that to work. Hi, Tim. Hi, Tim. So are we ready? Now, if you're looking for news this week, there was none, except for an Aerosmith update for code. Yeah. So that means Lonnie typed two pieces of information in, called it new information code, and we're all set. Done. News is done. That's true. Really, most of the news was at Texas, and nothing's really happened since then. So if you're looking for news, it ain't going to happen. You're looking for repairs. Ron, did you repair anything? I worked a lot on the big game. Okay, and? Rebuilt all the mechs. I think I have them all done, with the exception of the flippers. I saved those for last. And the out-hole kicker. And started replacing sockets, which I actually don't have all the sockets I need. So I'm going to have to... If you want some, you can borrow some from me. I repaired Nick Lane's Metallica with a new snake switch. I fixed his Iron Man flipper, and I'm setting up games. Done. Sweet. We are ready to talk. Papa. IFPA, pinball papa. Pre-papa extravaganza. Phil, don't say IFPA, because IFPA really isn't part of papa. They're two separate things. Well, they're, they, the point, where do the points come? Yeah, the points, the points, but it's not a, okay, whatever. It is an, it is an IFPA tournament. IFPA sanctioned tournament, papa, the world championships. This week does have the single biggest impact on IFPA stuff for the top guys. I think that, with three classics in A Division, it's a pretty big week. So it's going to be a big week for you is what you're saying, Tim. For me, I don't know. I have to play well. You said the big guys. You're one of the big guys, right? Hopefully. This is my first year. I have to be up there with the big guys. This is my first year in A Division. I'm not allowed to play B, C, and especially D anymore. He is a dandy. He will also be in the circuit finals. Yes, first time for that as well. And that's only the second year since they expanded to 40 players. I didn't make it last year, but this time I am now fifth seed due to a late Keith Elwin dropout. Ooh, he's making that pinball machine. Go, Keith, go. Yeah, he seems to be pretty interested in his new work at Sparrow. Hopefully that means we've got some cool stuff coming out from him and the guys there. But it moved me up a spot. It changed up the groups a couple last-minute dropouts. And as of today, my first group will be myself, Andrei Masenkov, Sanjay Shah, and Andy Rosa. Wow, that's a hard group. Well, check out this group here, group number seven. Raymond Davidson, Jim Belsito, John Rapogle, and Josh Sharpe. Oh, man. Those are all, in the past three years, Papa top four finishers are all in one group. Wow. Let's talk about your group first. All right. Tim, my favorite player, and I'm not going to, you know, don't get mad, everyone. I like Andre's style. Oh, yeah, it's great to watch. I know. On the fly, shoot, shoot, loop, combo, everything. No stop and think. His multiball is beautiful. He just threads balls through other ones and hits jackpots. The only waiting is before he actually plunges. That's the longest wait. That's the longest delay. So I hate to say it, Sanjay. I like you. But Andre and Tim, you guys, I'm rooting for you for the first round. Well, thank you. And I have game choice for every single game, being that I'm the top seed, and also being that I'm fifth seed overall. I have the fifth game choice of the whole bank. So, here we come. I'm not giving away my – well, when does this come out? Thursday. Well, no, no. I'm trying to get it out before then. So, it may be out before then. So, you afraid if you give away your picks that's going to affect something? No, well, I don't want to say that I have picks. I don't know what I want to do. But I don't think anyone knows exactly what I'm going to pick yet. I don't think I do, myself included there. But I have an idea of what kind of priority I would have on game picks and stuff. What are the choices? In A Division, which is the same bank for A Division, will be the Circuit Final Bank. we've got Barracora, which had a tutorial just come out that Bowen did with the help of his Patreon backers. Starship Troopers, an interesting pick, don't see that a lot in 8-Vision. Fathom, Ghostbusters Pro, High Roller Casino, Woohoo! And Mrs. Davis. On tournament mode, so it's the least random version of High Roller Casino. Little Chief, Future Spa, Skateball Iron Man Batman Dark Knight Stern Kiss Stern I'm not sure if that's the pro or the premium I forget which one Papa has I think it's a pro And last but not least is Funhaus Let's say Tim this is hypothetical of course you get the pickup game which one are you going for? See I don't know if I want to I don't even know if I want to do this because I don't want to actually commit in my head at all to anything. Because we get a little 30-minute warm-up, and I can see, ooh, I don't like that. Okay, so Ron, what would you pick? Hold on, Tim, what game do you think you wouldn't pick? What game I wouldn't pick? Since no one else has to pick, you don't have to worry about anyone hearing this. I'm probably never going to play Starship Troopers because, first of all, I won't have to pick it. and I don't really know that game, and it eats me alive on Pitball Arcade, which is the only time I've ever played it. I don't know how a real one plays. Loop, multiball. That's all you've got to think about. Let's see. Starship Troopers. Okay, I got that. I've eliminated that one. I don't know how to manage that flipper either. All right, so what would I pick? Yes, as you're asking. Oh, okay. Well, don't I have to pick more than one eventually? Like, how many games do they play? You pick four games for that. Oh, God. They play four games. All right. Four games, if you get any choice. It depends on the competition. Well, let's assume they're all better than me. So assume the same group as Tim without Tim. You're taking Tim's place. I'm taking Tim's place. All right. So I'll do Future Spa. Okay. How about the other three? You've got more out of Ron than me. Of course. It's hypothetical for him. Yeah. Yeah. Let's see. If I do Skateball, I'll avoid Little Chee. Avoid the M. Skateball with a clipped right in lane switch, I believe. That's a one-way switch. Fathom. See a Zia pattern here. Yes, you did. And Barracora. So you would take all four classics. Yeah, yearly solid state, non-complicated crap. Yep. That's what I would take. So you pass on Little Chee? I pass on Roachie. I would. Okay, Bruce. What are you picking? Fathom. Future Spa. Skateball. High Roller Casino. No Iron Man. No Iron Man. Iron Man, that one's brutal. I've actually gotten Jericho on it, but that one is brutal. And I know they'll set up really brutal. So I would go for the four, the three classics and High Roller Casino to throw everyone up a little bit. That would be my first round. So you're ranked fifth? Yes. Wow, so you're going to be sitting on your ass for a long time. No, it's no, ladder's not until the end. It's two rounds of top two move on until it gets to the top ten, then it goes into ladder. Yep. So if I make it past two rounds. Then you're waiting a while. Yeah, then I wait at least two rounds. Unless, unless, and if you really go hypothetical, if the top four go out, He's then top seed. Right. Yeah, that's what I was saying. I could wait until the end. I could be pretty high up there. But at least if I make it to the ladder format, then that's big money because I automatically get at least two or three buys or something. Yeah, and you're guaranteed six. Top seed Timmy, like the way that sounds. So, Tim, now we're going hypothetical again. How many games do we need in PAPA qualifying? Is it now just playing all the games now? So you can play all 12 games? As many times as you want. As much money as you want to spend. And it's your best how many games? Six out of 12. Six out of 12. All right. The main ABC division. I think DE only has eight games. I think it's four out of eight. Okay. Classics is a little bit different. It's four out of 12. Yeah. Four out of 16. Yeah. They're trying to get more people just to move on. Yeah, I think you're going to have the same situation where the same four or five games will be. Everyone will focus on them, and there will be huge lines in those, and the other ones will have no line. But we'll see. We'll see how that goes. So, Tim, what's six interest you in A? Oh, well, my strategy is I'm going to play all of them. Okay. At least once. Okay. The way I like to play a Pump-a-Dumper Herb-style format is to get myself on every game and then get a baseline score down for everything and then just start building. You lay in your bricks, building your wall of good games from the ones you feel confident on, you feel like you can get more points on. How much money are you bringing? Yeah, I was going to say, how much money are you bringing with this approach? You're building a foundation with thousands of dollars. It would cost, to play 100 games in A Division would cost $300, and it would take probably three days. So I feel like it'll be tough with the lines to even get, you know, a crazy amount of games. And you've got to take a break for lunch. You've got to go stretch your legs and go back to the hotel and get some whatever. You know, there's a lot of things that slow you down. You don't have to do that. You are a veteran of the 24-hour Sanctum Tournament. You should be able to go 24 hours straight. No, I'll pace myself. Okay, so we know Tim's going to play good and play well. We're all going to root for him. I don't have a definitive, like, how to play guide because, honestly, one of the biggest things about this year in Pop-It A Division is I don't know how my scores on those games will compare to other players' scores on those games because except for circuit events where you only really get to play a handful of A division players, you don't really get that experience all the time. Like I know if I go to a circuit event and it's a Herb style, I'm pretty much going to be able to, you know, get enough good games in there to make a shot at finals. This, I don't know. If I'm just playing and I feel like I'm playing my best and I'm down in like 80th place, I'll probably give up and go over to classics and just hang out. There you go. But if I'm, like, up there and, you know, I'm above the cut line all weekend, then it's like, hey, stay there and keep putting games in and try to, say, preserve your standing. Okay, so classics one, guys. Galaxy, Hang Glider, Buck Rogers, Surfer. Stop with the Gottlieb hate. What? Hang Glider's not Gottlieb. Hang Glider is Bally. Please, know your games. Oh, know my games. Bite me. Volley, great Gottlieb. Mystic. Silver Ball Mania, a pick of all of ours we hate. Scorpion. I hate my piece of Silver Ball Mania. Scorpion. Scorpion, the superior game to Algar. I'm not playing that one. I'll tell you that. I'm not playing Scorpion. Supersonic. Wizard Card Whiz Mars Trek Aerobatics I don't even know what that is. I don't know what that is either. Doodlebug Centaur and Andromeda. And we have to pick how many of these? Four. Sorry, four. Only four? Six. No, your best four. Best four. So you get it. Okay, so they're really trying to make it so it's not as crowded. Let's do six. Let's pick your six you want to pick. No, I'm picking four. Okay, pick four. What the fuck? What if it doesn't play right? Okay, just do five. One extra. Okay, we'll do six, just for you. The definite four I want, Supersonic, Doodlebug, Galaxy, Silver Ball Mania. So those four. Man, the other ones, probably Centaur, and maybe Mystic. Tim? I'm going to go with... Yes, six. I'll go with Buck Rogers, Silver Ball Mania. Ooh, wow, he does like it now. Well, I found out a way to play it. Extremely boring, but it works. It's called Shoot the Loop All Day, Live Catch, and Repeat. Don't even think about the spinner. I was thinking about the spinner before. No, don't think about the spinner. I don't think about the spinner anymore. Go ahead. Supersonic, Wizard, I like those. Mars Trek, and we'll say Centaur. Okay. That was a lot of overlap with Ron, so those might be popular games. I might have to take some less popular games. Yeah, that's what I think is going to happen. Let's see. Well, what is Bruce picking? Buck Rogers. God fucking no. Oh, okay. But you might play it good. Volley. Volley. Wizard. CardWiz. Surprise, surprise. Mars Trek. And I'll do Doodlebug. That's five. And one more we'll go for? I'll go Mystic, just to bring another Bally in. So it is a little different to you guys. So we've got at least one person who's going to select something different. Yep. I like Volley very much. The only problem with the Classics, now they have so many of these games, and they won't be on the floor. Yes. And when Classics is over, at least last year, they didn't put a lot of them back on the floor. Now, that could have been because they had the IFPA tournament afterwards, the whatever, their world championship. So a lot of those were reserved for that. But I'm hoping it's not a situation where, like, I won't see Super Sonic on any day in the free play area. Because it was the classics. That would suck. Especially when I see other games like, you know, Frontier is going to be in there. Other ones I like. Okay. Classics 2, Electric Boogaloo. I had to say that. Yes. Frontier. Doozy. Blackjack. Ah. Space Race, Aquarius, Time Zone, Gator, Robot, Flash, Jumping Jack, Cyclopses, Scuba, Faces, High Hand, Stars, that's all bow, and Ali. What's Cyclopses? I never heard of that game. Cyclopses is Cyclops. Cyclops. Cyclops. The ass game. Yeah, the ass game. So, Tim, you're six. Go. Blackjack. Of course. Gator. Good. Flash. Thanks. Gooba. Good. Stars, of course. Of course. Two more. And I think, I thought that was five. It was five. Bruce has pounding issues. And I think I'm going to go with high hand. Okay. Okay. Vaughn. Frontier, Blackjack, Flash, Stars, Ali, I'll say High Hand. You didn't take Doozy? Wow. No, I didn't take Doozy. Okay, mine are Frontier, Blackjack, Space Race. Surprise, surprise there. Aquarius. Really got to freaking throw you guys off. Gator and Scuba. I won't even pick stars. Everyone's going to be on stars. Yeah, but it's stars. The game shouldn't take long. Yeah, but the problem is everyone's going to be on it. That's going to be a constant line. Because it's a good game. It's a great game. Don't get me wrong. But I'd rather get it on Scuba, maybe, because Scuba you can do pretty good on. Aquarius is really good. I actually like Aquarius. So your tastes are more aquatic. Yes. And even though I drowned when I was eight years old and actually was CPR'd and, you know, There you go. That's why he's into all of it. So that explains Fathom. It does. All right. Classics three, we got Cheetah, Pinball Lizard. I think that's a game plan game. Yes, it is. Knockout, Butterfly, Hocus Pocus, El Dorado, City of Gold, Super Straight, Eight Ball Deluxe, Centigrade 37, Stellar Wars, Argosy, Kiss, Snow Derby, Genie, Yukon, and Triple Action. Bruce, what are you picking? Go. Cheetah. Super Straight. Eight Ball Deluxe. Argosy. Yukon. and I'll have to go Centigrade 37. Alright. I will pick let's see, Cheetah, 8-Ball Deluxe, Argosy, Kiss, those are the definite four. Two other ones, Super Straight. Good game. I'll go Centigrade 37. Nice. Okay. Tim? I'm going to go with Pinball Lizard, El Dorado City of Gold, Eight Ball Deluxe, Argosy, Kiss, and Genie. Wow. Do they still have the Powerball in that thing? I don't know. That's the other question. Do they still have the Powerball in there? We'll assume not for right now. Okay. So, Ron, you're playing in B Division? Of course I'm playing in B division. Why the hell would I play in A? Okay. What games do you like in that division? How many am I supposed to pick? Six. You have to. You're picking six of your best six. Oh, God, you suck. Here's his choices. Heavy Metal Meltdown. No, it's Heavy Metal Meltdown. Bucks. Alien Star. Jurassic Park. Tron. Surf and Safari. When are they going to learn that the rules suck in Surf and Safari, and it's a totally biased game? Super Orbit. The Walking Dead. Which one is that? Is that pro? Probably pro. Probably pro. Target Pool. Good game. Sopranos. Game of Thrones Premium. Elvis. And Countdown. Three or six. See, here's the problem. And, you know, actually, with a pump-and-dump format, these games that I would pick fit more into that. but it also will get very expensive. You know, Alien Star, you're going to play until you do the thing. Yes. Until you get the multiplier, you get multiball, and you rip the spinner once or twice. Boom, there's your score. But it might take 20 games to do that. So, you know. Yeah, BetaVision's never had a big line problem either, so you could just walk right up to that game and put your two bucks or whatever it'll be per entry. Alien Star, so I have to pick six. Alien Star. I don't like any of these, really. I probably won't play that many attempts because I'm not going to just blow my money. Yeah, Alien Star, Jurassic Park, Target Pool, Sopranos, Countdown, maybe Tron. Wow. Not Elvis, huh? No, I never played that particularly well. I mean, I liked the game, but I never played it well. Game of Thrones, forget it. There'll be so many ridiculous scores there. I just, it's beyond my level of rule comprehension to play that game. So if I was with you guys, I'd be in B, hopefully. My six games would be Jurassic Park, The Walking Dead, Target Pool, Sopranos, Elvis, Countdown. All right. Those would be my six. Now, the C division, those four suckers in the C actually have some pretty good games. Horsesuckers in C, okay. They got Austin Powers, Transformers, Genesis, Meteor, World Poker Tour, Big Game, Jungle Queen, Avengers, Theater of Magic, Black Pyramid, Metallica, and Paragon. Good games. There's a rule of Papa I've established is that the Division 1 below you always looks much better than the Division 1. Exactly. I agree. I really like that B Division bag. Game of Thrones? Super Orbit? Heck yeah. All you A guys like the Game of Thrones there. Walking Dead. C-Division. Let's see. What would I pick? Hey, you're right. Austin Powers I like. Meteor. Lord Poker Tour. Big game. Jungle Queen is good. A Black Pyramid if you just hit the orbits over and over and over. Metallica and Paragon. Yeah, I'm feeling the C-Division. I think you just do C this year. I think I actually, I think C is, You have to be 500 or worse. 600. Okay, 600 or so. I'm screwed. D Division, which I believe also is the kids division, the seniors division, and like the split flipper and all that stuff division. So it tends to get really crowded. They have Robocop. Man, look at all these games. Robocop, Winner, Medusa. I play that. Power Play, yep. Fishtails, yep. Scared Stiff, yep. Cosmos, I don't know that. particular game. That's an awful game. Okay. Sixth is pinball party. Nope. World win. Yep. Yep. I'd be picking seven out of eight of those. Yep. Tim, how much money are you bringing then between classics and this? You've got to be almost like, you know, a $600 bill into this. I don't know. I'm bringing my credit card. Oh, man. Yeah, that's... I keep forgetting to actually take... I purposefully make sure it's cash because I don't want to use my credit card. In the past, I've done that, but in the past, I always underestimated how much I would care and overestimated how good my first entry would be, and I always went to the cash machine. So, I don't know. I'm not going to spend, between the three classics in A Division, I don't really see myself spending much over $400 total in entries. And like I said, if I've spent $300, in A Division, I'd get 100 entries and I feel like that would just take me all weekend anyhow. I'd pace myself in a pump and dump. If you won Classics, how much is the prize? I think it's $1,000. Yeah. And A Division victory? $7,000 this year. It went down. Yep. Used to be like $10,000. Circuit Finals is $2,500. And they will tax you on it. I have learned this. Oh, yeah, they will. Tim, you could be walking out of there with like $12,500. Yeah. Yeah, maybe Keith just won't show up the whole weekend. Are you going to Sizzler? Going to Sizzler. Going to Sizzler. No, I don't know. I'm just thinking about Papa. Practiced some Ghostbusters and Kiss today. Told Jerry Sab, Jerry Bernard up here in upstate New York, some of the rules on Ghostbusters and Kiss and tried to help him a bit in the circuit finals. in case those games get picked, because he'll be either in Zach Sharp's or Trent Algenstein's group. Hopefully they've reinforced the flipper button area in preparation for his arrival so they don't get just pounded, dented in. Yes. Jerry is the hardest flipper hitter I've ever seen. Yes. But he doesn't tilt. No, he doesn't. He saves more damn balls. And he doesn't know half the games he plays and he still kills them. That's the scary part. Yeah, that was part of our rundown today. I told him some tips on Ghostbusters, and I posted a picture of our scores we got after a coaching session where he crushed me with $2.5 billion. You created a monster. It was on a factory settings Ghostbusters, so there's less extra balls given out like candy in tournament mode. I noticed one game that is not in any of these lists would be Aerosmith. Too new. Too new? Well, they used it in the IFPA championships there, or nationals, or whatever the hell it was. the Masters. And that was a mistake because if you remember correctly, they disabled the toy box which, assuming that it would be a problem with lock stealing, and it's really more of a strategy thing than anything, and they also removed the gate because the gate was such a problem on the elevator shot and lots of balls would get stuck there, lots of balls getting stuck in multiball, a lot of physical issues with that that might have to be resolved through Stern's classic ball save fix or, you know. Bum bum ba dum. Bum bum ba dum. So what do you think of ACDC? Yeah, Aerosmith. You played a ton of it. I played more Aerosmith than any of us have played. Yeah, likely. I like it. I just hate getting, I hate plunging. And you gotta do a lot of plunging on that game because of those like six ball locks. And I just haven't found a good way to get the ball from the orbit onto my flippers so I could actually do some work on that game. So you're saying it's more dangerous to lock more balls? Yeah, because every time a ball goes in that toy box, gets another ball, either comes out of the auto-plunge, and all three of your options in the auto-plunge, unless you have some locks lit, are pretty miserable. It's the right orbit comes down and hits the right sling. That puts you in trouble. It's a John Borg sling, too, so it's very small, very powerful, and it doesn't block a lot of ricocheted balls, so they go right to the outlanes. And then you've got the bumper plunge, which I think that's pretty self-explanatory why that one's no fun. And then even the skill shot plunge, which doesn't give any points but can lock balls. If the ball lock isn't lit, it'll throw the ball wildly. Still don't have control over it. You still don't have a nice flipper return. Even in orbit, you can just catch it on Game of Thrones Pro. Well, let me ask you this question. If you go for more balls in multiball, does it get you anything more? Yeah, you have the potential to lock more balls during the multiball for a higher playfield. Multiplier, yeah. All right. So what's the problem? I'm just seeing risk-reward here. You want to lock more balls, it's the potential of more scoring, you have more chances to drain. Isn't that what it's all about? It's just a lot of watching the ball bounce around. Oh, come on. Do you want us to replace the ball from the shooter lane and just put it on your flipper instead? Is that what you want? Sure. Do you like the, what's it called, the Papaduke skill shot where the ball just comes right to your right flipper? No. You guys are so coddled, you know. Come on. Come on. It's called risk reward. That's why I think it's perfect. So, Ron, when we played against each other at Arcade Expo, what did I go for every time? Oh, you went for the six ball. Every time. Because that's just the way Bruce is. Yes. Well, there's also, if you lock five balls, physically lock them in the toy box and start Elevator, you can also have a six ball Elevator multiball. And then if you go back into your toy box multiball, it'll also be six balls, I believe. Oh, nice. I know that. That's actually a cool little... Yeah. So the way, now that Keith Owens at Spern putting up, you know, grand champion scores in their factory games, he's testing out a bunch of stuff like that for them, and he's posting his findings on Tilt Forums as well. Excellent. Very cool. So, Tim, there will be no accepting anything less than total domination from you. Top four. Top four is required. This year is a test year. We'll see how it goes. one thing I like about both the PAPA tournaments is it's the best way to evaluate your skill as a pinball player. You know, it's too easy to become, you know, a guy who knows, you know how you stand among, you know, your local league or your local players and stuff. You gotta step it up to PAPA and see how you fare against people who are proven and actually good. And then you can see what they do better than you. You know, one thing is just watching them on Twitch and other things, watching them play in real life and how they approach that same game that you know I'm having this issue with it and look how this player does it. So a lot of stuff there I've learned at all the Papa tournaments. I hope I can bring with me to Papa 21 and then that's the year where no excuses of going for it all at Papa 21. No excuses here. Alright, so this is the excuses here, it sounds like. I'm improving. He's the up-and-comer. He's the team with all the young players on it, all the draft picks. He's the young whippersnapper. The young whippersnapper, yes. The team of rookies. It's a contract year. It's a contract year. Wow. Nice to meet you. So that was the pop-up preview. By Tim, Tim Ball Sexton. So we'll have to have the post-episode at some point where he can go over all his triumphs and how awesome he was and all the stuff he learned when taking the circuit crown. And how hard it was to park there. Oh, that's right. I'm coming there Friday. Yeah, I won't have any spot. I should just park on the street, like, you know, not the one that's that close. Yeah, the highway. Just park on the street and then walk up. It'd be kind of a long walk, but whatever. A lot of that property around Papa that used to be abandoned buildings has started getting purchased by who knows what, Mustang Restoration Companies or something, because a lot of the spots people used to take up around the building are now private property. You can't park there anymore. Yep. Stupid economic recovery. I know. Yeah, it's got money now. So they've got to park along that parking lot down the road and walk over. Don't use this bridge to walk over, yeah. Yes, don't use the bridge. Oh, yeah, unless you're Bruce and you just use it anyway. Just use it anyway. Don't give a crap. So let's see what the Carl Weathers is supposed to be like for you guys down there. So for your Carl Weathers reports. Hi, I'm your Carl Weathers girl, Bruce. Super. Hi, I'm your Carl Weathers girl, Bruce. Your Carl Weathers is going to be hot. Hot and sweet. Dippy. Oh, boy, guys, you're going to have some great Carl Weathers down there. Not. Thursday, light rain and 54. Friday, even better. Rain and snow showers 41 and 35 Then Saturday Partly cloudy and 52 And Sunday the best day When you guys are leaving 63 and sunny A nice Carl Weathers to drive home I guess I know when I'll be picking up the game And it won't be any of the earlier days No it will not But yeah nice Carl Weathers Next week's supposed to be really nice Go figure So Tim Any Tim rants for us before we let you go? Yeah, I have one. Uh-oh. I played some Rob Zombie Pinball. And you had some fried chicken. I guess so. I've played four games of Rob Zombie Pinball now. Totally. That's, that's, okay, so that's three too many. Go ahead. And I've already broken the game. All right. That's not hard. Yeah, I have an issue, believe it or not, with the choices that the software has in that game. Although I know new code is coming right around the corner, so maybe some of this stuff might be fixed. This might be dated by the time this comes out. But right now, the way I play the game was decided not by number of points that any shot is, because you can't see how many points any shot's worth, but by what's the easiest shot in the game and what mode lets you shoot it the most. and I decided that the way you should play the game is first, plunge the ball, whatever, let it bounce around, eventually it comes back to your flippers. Shoot the left orbit. Pick super demon as your mode. Max out your jackpot on the upper playfield by hitting it around a few times and then you shoot your center ramp six times starts multiball and it unlimited jackpots up the center ramp until multiball ends I decided center ramp was the easiest shot in the game I'll never stop playing it. What happens when you lose multiball? You can pick it again. Back to Super Demon, back to max jackpots, back to center ramp. All day, every day. I made a bunch of people quit my game that I was playing, and they told me to just have fun. They didn't want to play it anymore once they saw me do that. Yikes What are your thoughts on the game? Uh I need points I know it seems dumb for me to say Oh I need points Like oh that's just one part of pinball But it's an important feedback thing in pinball I can shoot lights all day Lights aren't fun by themselves They turn off, they turn on, whatever If I know that that light was good And I know this light was even better Then that's a little, you know Then we're getting somewhere and like wizard mode, yeah, there's a wizard mode in it and it requires you to diversify your strategy. But if I'm playing it in the tournament, I'm not going to let up on that center ramp until it breaks. I'm going to shoot it all day, every day. It feeds the left flipper, shoot it up the center ramp, feeds the left flipper, shoot it up the center ramp. All right. I saw you also had a little thing about, what is it, games telling you you've failed. Oh, yeah. I didn't think that was a good idea. I don't think it's a good design practice. Are you guys familiar with the Zucker Brothers? I'm sure the comedy directors did, like, Airplane. The Zaz. Yeah, Zucker, Abrams, and Zucker. Zucker, Abrams, and Zucker. So they had a couple of, like, rules about comedy. Like, you know, if a character is serious in the foreground, the background can be funny, but you can't have both at the same time. and I kind of wish there was some sort of general guideline of rules that applied to pinball because the idea of failing a mode seems goofy to me because, like I said, we're going back to points, which really, that's all you get at the end of the game is points. And if your points, you know, whatever, your points are going up during a mode, then did you really fail it? You just failed to get more points. and you always fail to get more points than pinball. So I just kind of see it as sort of a misnomer. It's like you didn't fail it because you could restart it, you can go back and do it again. But eventually all modes come to an end, all games come to an end. That's just a part of the pinball life cycle. So I don't see how distinguishing that matters at all, other than just to make the player feel bad. He won't like Alien then. Yeah, that's kind of what came up. That's where it came out. Because it's like a mode fail. I think even at the end of the game, it says, fail. It's like the game is over, so I failed. So how do I not fail? I play forever? Right, yeah. There's no way to not fail. Right, unless you become a pinball-playing robot that never misses a shot, and somehow your game never wears down. It's impossible. Entropy always wins. Yeah, the game always wins in the end. Yeah, eventually there's the heat death of the universe, and then nothing happens anymore. Even Keith Elwin drains. Eventually. Yep. Eventually. That should be the end. There's the saying, even Keith Elwin drains eventually. But it's a key difference between alignment mode and, you know, a new pinball company mode. Like alignment mode is like walking dead. Like you could get, you know, infinite points in walking dead in a mode. If you, you know, max out your tunnels and do all this crazy stuff, hey, it could be huge. Can you pull that off? No, not really. But did it say, oh, you failed because you failed to get a certain threshold or something? No, it never says that. It's just your ball ends and the mode ends. Yeah. Or you'll just, you know. That's really what happens, yeah. You've been bit. Yeah, you've been bit. And that's it. Okay, the zombie got to me, he bit me. So, Tim, do you still have your three games, or are we? Yeah, you can skip my game section. This will be the most boring segment of Tim's repairing game updates. I'm not saying that. You still have your three, right? Yeah, I still have my three. Okay. be bringing one of them to Allentown. I'll be bringing my Time Warp to Allentown. I'll be putting straight flippers on it this time. Thank you. Fucking thank you. Even though I made a big mistake last time. I kept the banana flippers on, and the reason I had the banana flippers on was because the game is too gosh darn easy with straight flippers. You break it up to freaking eight and a half degrees, and it ain't so easy. So you're bringing that to the tournament? No, I'm bringing that to sell. Sell! And what are we looking for Mr. Tim, in your limited collection you have, what is the game you're looking for if you could find anything there? I don't think I'm going to buy anything at Allentown. I think I'm going to take any money I get and look for a game at Pintastic New Robert Englunds. Because there were some good deals at Pintastic. Very good deals. I wanted a DMD that was under $3,000 at Pinfest, and not only were my options limited, And even the crap got bought immediately. Hey, Tim, there's a $975, what's the one we showed last week, the Gottlieb? You were making fun of me. Oh, because, yeah, the Wipeout. Wipeout. Wipeout for $900. There's your DMD. There's DMD, Tim, and you have changed the fare. I always forget that Gottlieb made DMDs. Oh, wow. Thank you. Thank you, Tim. Even if I see them and realize, my eyes go past them. I thought they went out of business after TX Factor. I didn't realize they actually made D&D games. Terrible, terrible company. It's a terrible company. They make great EMs. Yes, they make great... No, well, the problem is, no, you're saying that wrong, Tim. When they were Gottlieb, original Gottlieb, they were great. when they got bought out by Columbia Pictures, they chintzed out on everything. Then they started to come back a little bit, maybe in the 80s, a little bit. They tried, but didn't work. Had a couple good games there, that was it. And then Premiere took them over, and forget about it. They had a couple good games, i.e. the ones that Bruce likes. Those are the only good games in Bruce's world. So what, lights, camera, action? Yep. No, that's actually in premiere time, so I have to say that's... Even I like a premiere game. Oh, good. Oh, my God. How about you, Tim? Is there any Gottlieb DMD game you like? Well, okay. Hold on. No, hold on. If it's a Gottlieb DMD, I like none. Yeah, DMD, I can't think of one. Alphanumeric. Alphanumeric. Sold. Let's go with Surf and Safari. That's why they keep putting it in a tournament I'm telling you Bruce All these tournament type guys They all like it Oh god It's got colors You get the different colors And it leads you to different things Yeah but the one shot You get 20 billion Or whatever you want to call it It's ridiculous Yeah but you can only do that once And then you gotta do everything else I know but Guess what Some people don't hit it And some people do hit it And you're fucked Well then you need to hit it That's what it's all about Bruce And you get the point in the queue It's a randomized thing also Don't forget Is it randomized? Yeah, it does a spinner. It does a spinner. Dink, dink, dink, dink, dink, dink, dink, dink, and then it comes up when you hit that shot. Oh, you mean how many spinners you get? Yeah. Oh, well, how do you think it's able to skill shot steal your opponent's score? Yeah, that's true, too. That's good. Yes, steal your opponent's score. Yeah, that's a great option. Oh, I just want to say, you've made fun of me for this in the past, there is someone else who likes NBA. Oh, God. Ed Ed Robertson of Bare Naked Ladies. He had it in his top ten of news turns. NBA. He's a freaking guitar player. What the fuck does he know? Sorry, Ed, but NBA. No, but he did have some good picks. But NBA was not one of them. He played at Todd McCulloch's house. Todd McCulloch says, harder to get to the NBA finals in the game NBA than it is in the real NBA. Yes. Did Todd have... Sorry, did Ed have Lord of the Rings? He had Lord of the Rings 10. I don't understand those guys. Nobody had Lord of the Rings in their top five. Takes too long to play. Great game. Great game. It's a great game. It is. It's a great game. Yeah, top five. Easy. Tron is not a top five game. I'm sorry. If not... I agree with Bruce again. Wow. Wow. All right, all right. Just do a... Boring game. It's one shot. All you have is one flipper. Let's do some plagiarism here, but we'll just have Timmy answer. Top ten modern stars. Go. Star Trek number one. Oh, wow. Star Trek number one. Okay. Far and away number one is Star Trek Premium. Yep. Okay. Hmm. Number two. Let's go top five. Yeah, I'll just list five. Lord of the Rings, I'll put in the top five. I'll put Game of Thrones in the top five. Really great game. A lot of stuff going on. Premium or pro? Pro. Okay. No premium on that one. I just hope it gets a little more balanced. It needs to be more balanced. Some of the houses are so underpowered, while some are too powerful. And Hand of the King's too important compared to anything else. All right. So is that three? Three. I have faith in that one. Let's see. Let's see. What else has Steve Ritchie done? 24 World Poker Tour You own one World Poker Tour is a good game But I'm not going to put it in the top 5 I'm going to put Metallica Okay Yeah I like Metallica a lot I really like Crank It Up What a great mode And I don't know one to just throw in What stern will I always pick? Ghostbusters? No. God, no. Not going to be in there. I don't know. I keep thinking too recent, probably. What blew me away? I can't even think of a fifth. High Roller Casino? Iron Man? Iron Man's good. Simpson's Spinball Party? That's it. That's it. That would be... Simpson's Spinball Party, number five. That's a really good one. Okay, Ron, you got your top five? No, I just said Tim. Okay, screw you then. Okay, go ahead, Bruce. What are your top five? Number one with Tim, definitely Star Trek. By far, definitely. Number two, Metallica. Number three, Lord of the Rings. Number four, Simpsons Pinball Party, definitely. You can't even think about it. And number five, The Dark Horse. Game of Thrones. No, God, no. Fuck, no. Maybe the same list. No, it wouldn't be. Because I'm not doing that one. I'm going with... though. The Pro. No, I know what you're saying. Five simple shots. Huge game. Big shots. Juicy shots. Combos. I'm actually going to freak you all out. High Roller Casino. Nope. Nope. X-Men. X-Men. I was thinking about X-Men. I miss X-Men. If I bought, honestly, if I didn't buy an LE Magneto, I should have bought the Pro. should have bought it because I'd probably still have it to this day. Pro is so much better playing. Actually, the best version I ever played was the Whitewood at Expo. Yeah, true. And I agree. It had no Wolverine. And God, it played good. It was just like a wild play field, all these shots, just flow city. It was awesome. So, Tim, we're close. Tim, we're close. Four to five. Yeah, four to five. Very impressive. Now, Ron, you want to join us? So you're going to, like, TV us. Okay. ACDC, Metallica, Iron Man. Let's see games that I like. Lord of the Rings. Man, the fifth one's going to be tough. One thing I learned during Papa is if my speed run for Game of Thrones gets accepted at Games Done Quick in the summer, I've been submitted for the mainstream, which has, like, 100,000 consistent viewers. So that just came up. I've got to decide how I'm going to get a pit and ball machine to Minneapolis to play if that gets accepted. Minneapolis? Yeah, that's the summer one they do in Minneapolis, and the wintertime one that's benefits to prevent cancer, that's in Washington, D.C., metro area. Okay, I have a couple questions for you. Where in Minneapolis is that one of those, you know? It's at a hotel. Okay. Probably near an airport. It's pretty much middle of nowhere. Do you know Lloyd? No. No. I've never been there. I don't know anything about the place. It's cold. Oh, Minneapolis? Yeah, well, it's in summer. It's still cold. It's actually up there in summer. No, it's nice up there in the summer. My fifth game is... T3. Okay. T3. I'll say T3. Games that I enjoy to play, so... Underrated is fair. T3. Yes, I know. Could you use one last tweak? What would that be? What would that be, Bruce? Honestly, I would like to see a super wizard. Like, the wizard mode is good, but once you get to it, it's like, ugh. Kind of let down a little bit. I don't really have an issue with it. I would like to see the multiball be more interesting. Because the multiball is basically just shoot the drop target over and over until you get the super, hit the three ramps to relight, and then repeat. Yes. As opposed to the assault, which is very interesting, where you have to shoot into the drop target area. Then you have to hit an orbit to load the cannon on the top, then hit it all while the balls are all in play and not losing the ball. I always thought that was one of the more interesting things, and that's assault. Yep. So they should have something a little more interesting. Something they could have made simple. like it's the tried and true, you hit like five shots, and then a super is lit, either roving or whatever, and do it that way. I call it like, you know, the attack from Mars method. Or you could do like the Klingon multiball slash black suit multiball method where you hit each shot twice and then get the super. Either way. All those are on Aerosmith, by the way, all those multi-balls. Well, how come? Wait a sec. Hold on. Oh, here comes the Lonnie D. Ropp insults. Here it comes. Anything original on Aerosmith? Da-da-da-da-da-da-da. Thinking, thinking. Yeah, the 5X multiball multiplier, where you can physically lock the balls up to five times. Okay, but guess what? How many games have six-ball multiballs that you can relock? Oh, come on, come on. You just will not give him any credit at all. It's definitely different than the Mustang six-ball. I agree. It seems like it is the Mustang six-ball multiball, but it's not. It's the opposite. Do you like that he doesn't have any originality? Well, here's a... It's, um... I don't know. It's just nice that if I play this game well, I like the 2x combos, which has been a staple of the Stern games, like the shot multipliers. I like the, uh... I like getting my multipliers. And then playing a huge walk this way, you know, ripping off 12 million ramp shots. I just have too much fun doing that when I can do it, when I can line it up that I don't have any complaints that's my thing, when I don't know what's happening in the game like in Ra's Dhabi then I have complaints because I'm like what am I doing where am I, why am I playing pinball and I never feel that way on Aerosmith, except when it drains me physically I have issues software, I mean it would be there's more that they could do, I think Game of Thrones is where they really decided to go a totally different direction with pinball and a lot of people didn't like it. A lot of people didn't like it. What's the totally different direction? Think it's so complicated no one can understand it? Just adding some RPG elements. You conquer, you get powers for the whole game. Your choices matter a lot. You can't really go back in time. I agree. Put an economy in. They really did a lot with the code in Game of Thrones. I don't know. Maybe the feedback's so negative they'll never do that again. They'll make it nice and simple from now on. Well, didn't they have like novice mode in that game, which I've never seen or even an option to select it? If some code releases, that was the factory default and I think they turned that off. Okay. Could have been like an old Sega game, you know. Novice or regular? Actually, Bally Williams did it too. Oh, yeah. Actually, I have a game that does that. You do? Whodunit does that. If it does, I turn it off, though, so you never see it. But, yeah. Well, basically, the novice mode is just, by default, you'll just play Zac Stark anyhow. Because he'll just pull the plunger. Which, that's what novice mode did. It just gave you Zac Stark. And Zac Stark being the first house lit is what you'll get if you don't know how to play Game of Thrones anyhow. But the Bowen tutorial is out. Only an hour. We're in Game of Thrones. Only an hour, yes. An hour. There's two games on it for an hour. Okay, I'll watch the Barracora one instead. Yeah. That one's even more complicated. Really? I love it. For Barracora? Barracora is one of the most confusing pinball machines ever made. Spell Barracora. Go for your shots. And why are there fish? Why is there a fish woman on the back glass? It's so weird. Juggling those upper lanes in Barracora, managing the levels of multiple... The 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 is very tricky. It really is. You hit your drop targets, they come back up, only some of them. It's going to confuse the heck out of everyone. It's been 1982. I mean, come on. Is it spectrum confusing? No. No. There you go. Well, I'd like to thank Tim for coming on the show. For a first half. For a first half, part one. I guess this is one episode. So, like you said, the first half. Okay, now I have one more question for Tim. You have one more question. One more question. and this will not, both of you won't hear the other person's response until when it's released. Tim, will you beat Steven Bowden in finishing order for any or all or some of the four tournaments you'll be in? Sorry, for the two tournaments you could be in together. Probably not. Let's make it easy, just A. I don't know if he gets in Friday or Saturday. He gets in Friday night. Okay. Hmm. So he's only going to do A. That's all he's worried about. 50-50. Toss-up. It could go either way. Oh, that's being too PC. We don't like PC in this one. Val, come on. Cut a promo on him. This is your chance. He's not here to retaliate. Steve, you're going down. We played before. You know I can beat you. Well, I'll have a lot more work put in by the time he gets there. And I might either... I could give up and just try Classics 3, and he might just go all in on A. I don't know. A bunch of things could happen. It's really going to be a weird papa. But I just have a big advantage time-wise. I mean, he's a better player, don't get me wrong, but the time advantage is what brings me up into it. so I'll definitely try to beat him. Okay. So I guess I'll call myself for the time advantage and hopefully good play. All right. He's calling himself. All right. We'll tell Steve that. Yes, we will. No, he will not hear it either. I will. He will. Tim is talking shit about you, man. He said he's finishing above you. He guaranteed it. So who else is going from your area down there? It's going to be Greg and all the other guys, Levy. Yeah, Levy I'm going down with for the circuit finals. Jerry just squeaked in. Greg, a bunch of New York City people going down Wednesday, Thursday time frame. A lot of people. I know Daniele flew into New York City. He's coming down with Francesco and Alberto and Zenday Haas and all those New York City guys. I'd like to say good luck to him. Thank you. And good luck to all of our listeners who are going. If you see Ron, say hi to Ron. Hi, Ron. If you see me and you want any advice, come right up to me, and I'll tell you what games to play, what division to play, anything. I can really help people out. I've done it for four years, and I've made the finals of BNC the last two years. Yep, and Tim Balls is an official partner with the Flamethrower Podcast. Thank you very much. he's in a partner does he mean to get paid yeah he gets paid cool why do I get paid you don't oh fail checks in the mail Tim oh thank you thanks Tim once again this has been the first half and now the second half of our podcast we welcome and now something for you all to see okay are you Rocky Rocky Bull who's that yes come on Kim Hold on, hold on. Something you really want. Sounds like that. Yeah. Sounds like that, yeah. Okay. We welcome Steven Bowden to the podcast. Good evening. Good evening. Maybe I should keep talking like this. My voice might sound like that by the end. Mike. I'm going to have to go to Jersey Jack and correct him. During his seminar, he called you Steven Bowden. Mm-hmm. That happens. Yeah. And so, you know, that's fine. Luckily, I've never screwed up Steve's name. That's good. I've never screwed up Steve. Yeah, Steve. Steve. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, Steve, you know, is there some kind of tournament happening, like, coming up? Allegedly, there's something going on this weekend, and then, like, another thing going on on Wednesday, and then another thing. Yeah, it's serious. It's circuit time. It's papa time. Here we go. There are people salivating at the mouth trying to get down there to get started. So, you know, let's go. I mean, I'm sad I can't come out until Friday night. But, hey, that's called work. But whatever. Let's go. Let's do it. I hate work. Let's have a moment of silence for the Papa building. Well, yeah. This will be going up for sale after Papa. This will be the last Papa in that location. Unless they don't sell. A moment of... Autistic silence. Yeah. Don't sell. I think they already have the new place in mind or have already purchased it and are just selling the old place, honestly. Maybe. That's what I think, but I could be wrong. It needs to be done because the parking there is just horrific. Oh, the parking situation is horrific, yes. It was okay five to seven years ago. Except for Denver. Well. Yeah, that was the first thing I thought of, too. I'm just as selfish. First thing I thought was, yep, parking. Okay. Let's get more of that parking. They had the Vesuvius lot that one time, which kind of worked. It did. Yeah. So we got Papa happening. We got games. We got divisions. We got stuff going on. So we're going to talk to Steve. We're going to go over some games. We're going to see what he would pick. Now, I don't think we have to list these games again because we already listed these with Tim. So it's just going to be kind of a rehash. So just pretend they've already been all listed. All right. It'll be seamless for our listeners. Right. So for A Division, now actually I say for the circuit, let's pretend you're in the circuit. So the circuit, so is the circuit, they're using the A Division games, right? A Division games. So basically it's the same. Okay. So pretending that I had the opportunity to bring my number one ranking into the circuit. Yes. and actually be able to pick your game. And actually be able to pick a game, right? Well, let's see. Barracora, Starship Troopers, High Roller Casino, blah, blah, blah. Barracora. Yep. I would pick that. Nice. Especially because I'm used to, well, I haven't played in a while, but I know how that one plays with those parallel flippers that it has. Parallel flippers? Yeah. At the end of the stroke, it doesn't go up anywhere. It's straight. Frost. so you can catch, but if you do, wow, you know, because there's not much control on that. But I've been playing that one. I like playing that one when it's at, sometimes they have it at the factory in Pittsburgh, and then, you know, so I'm kind of used to that. And I like the game anyway. That would be my game I like if we do that segment. All right. And I will make a correction. I guess the one at Puppet does not have the new software. Or the Sharp software, or whatever you want to call it. The one that makes the multi-balls 2X and 3X when you have them scoring. See, that's the one I want to play. Yeah. Because that's the thing on the game. The reward for the two-ball is a reward for the three-ball, you know. Because otherwise, you're just going to go for the insurance ball. Why not? Knock the insurance ball and feel good. And that was Scott's software. And that was on the Barracora that was at the Florida show. But it's not on this one. The only reason I know that is because in Bowen's tutorial, he actually stated that it does not have that. Okay, so that's your first game, Steve. What would be the other three? Three other games? Oh, my goodness. Yeah, you get all four. All right, so let's see. Future Spa could be a candidate. Iron Man could definitely be a candidate. Get out there. Batman if I want to have a marathon. Let me get rid of a couple. Let's strike down Stern's Kids and Ghostbusters. Let's put those away. And Funhouse is there. Sorry, so I put Funhouse there as one. Cool. And so I've had Barracora, Funhouse, Take a Risk with Iron Man. It depends on how you're playing, right? Probably. Yeah. That would depend on that. And then on my last one, it would really depend if I'm playing well, then, you know, if I'm playing well and I still have the energy, I'll play Star Wars Batman. But if not, then, you know, I'll go for like a Fathom or something. Nice. Because I like Fathom, too. Nice. If you still have the, well, let's see. Did you play in a certain 24-hour tournament? Yes. Did you win a certain 24-hour tournament? What, two years ago? Yeah, but it was still 24 hours. It doesn't make it any less hours, does it? Yeah. So I think the endurance will be fine. Yeah, that's fine. I mean, I just, well, depends on how he's playing. Depends on who's behind him. That would be a decision, you know, where I am in the standings, can I afford to pick a game where I might be able to grind out some left orbits in the multipliers? to it that way, you know. You're right. Whatever I can to get ahead. But, you know, no kiss, no Ghostbusters. Stasher Troopers is fine, but with the tournament-level software, it takes a lot of the fun out of it. You just got to go for loops. Just loops. Yeah. And that'd make it boring. That's going to be a problem during A-Division, isn't it? I mean, because it'd be bad because, I mean, I remember way back in the day during the Pinferno tournament. We had Starship Troopers, and that was a problem because it was loop multiball all day, and that's sad. I saw both Sharp brothers. Crush. Crush. In last year's, what's it called, last year's Pimberg. I was with Zach, and I was like, oh, my God. I just sat down. I sat down for 15 minutes and watched him just loop and loop and loop and loop and get the multiball and just crush. Yeah, that's going to be a problem. Because you get like five million and then you get another ball or something. So it's like, okay, why would you do anything else? It's just a matter of, okay, how long can you stand there? The only way you can get around it is by disabling the loop switches. Then you're good. Yeah. Wow. Okay, that would change everything. It would. Actually, that would make it more fun, wouldn't it? Stop burping the game. The Asterix they gave so much, it's unplayable. All right. So you've just won the circuit finals. Oh, yeah. Okay. So you're enjoying that. Okay. Now Thursday comes around, and it's time to play in A Division. Right. Now this is good. Tim had an interesting thing. He said he would play them all and then kind of go from there. And we were like, well, how much money are you going to spend? I have my credit card. I'll be fine. So what would be your strategy? I can agree there. I can agree there on most other Herbst, because this is Herbst style, right? You know, we don't, we're using, I'm using the H word because it's the word that comes to my head, but. Of course. Yeah, I mean, I would end up playing, usually I would end up playing all the games once or even twice just to get a feel of how the bounces are. And then, so I can answer questions like, where are the kickouts? How fast is it? How bouncy are the ropes? You know, all the standard stuff, you know. and then focus on one, get a decent score on it, and then just start trying to improve on each one until I get high enough to where I can take a break, you know, and then come back and see what's my fifth worst game, what's sixth worst game, and work on that and so on and so on. But with Papa being best score, that is going to have – that really puts in some wretches because people are going to be taking more risks because they can, I mean, it takes Ghostbusters and puts that way out of the league of anything because Ghostbusters is going to be who can get that 6X ride and get 6X play field and ride it till the wheels fall off. Okay, you disqualified, you know. So you're going to roll up, you're going to get $2 billion, and you're going to have to avoid every cue. I'm kind of not interested in that. I don't have any time. So I can say I'm coming in Friday night. That's a different situation than someone who's coming in Thursday. Yeah, and Steve, you're going to be a little disadvantaged again, like you always are. You're used to it, though. That's the good thing with you. Right. But if you want to put me in the shoes of a Thursday morning, whatever it is, AM player, like I would be. If I were able to come on Thursday, my butt would be there when the doors open. And I would look at playing all the games once, maybe even twice. You know And then I would And then I would start focusing on Some of the games I like Like I would focus on Barracora Get a good score And then once I did that Then I would move on to try and strike lightning With Iron Man Which I can do You know that's just doing The do or die once correctly You know And all you do is do it once right And then move over to Funhouse I tell you that Third's Kiss and Ghostbusters Would be last on the queue though I agree For me Interesting I totally agree Because those are like Tim's favorites. He loves Buster's and he loves Kiss. Tim has three days. Steve has one. Yeah. So he's not going to waste time, possibly a 30-minute marathon game, and then still not make it to top 20. Right. So he would rather put his time. Especially if, I don't know how Stern's Kiss is going to be set with the Playfield X's. Because if it was set like at Expo, where one song gave you a 2X Playfield play field and the 2x shot and it blows the scores out of the water. I mean, it's all about the scores. Ghostbusters is going to be, you know, I don't know if that game is going to be set harder, but you get a roll in Saturday afternoon and it's going to take $2 billion to have a conversation. Have a conversation. I'm not going to have a conversation there when I could be working on Fathom, you know. Or FutureSpa. You know, give me FutureSpa and give me a 6X multiplier real fast, and I'm in business. And that takes me, you know, a minute, maybe. If I get lucky, you know, finding a nice 6X exponent on Ghostbusters may never happen. No. It just might not happen. It's like, how'd you get that score? Oh, I got 6X into We King We Saw into Matheteria. Oh, okay. Yeah, you think. End of discussion. How long did it take you? Okay, it took me half an hour. And how long did it take you to get on the queue? Four hours. So good. Four hours of the Q. All right. So since you will be coming later, I believe you probably will not be playing in the Classics. Unfortunately, no. Unless I get really lucky in A. Unless I get really lucky in A and I have, like, you know, what's the best six games out of whatever it is? Yes. If I get really lucky in A and I can spike off six or seven good games, you know, and be in the top 10-ish, then I might have a look at Classic. I can play that, and then my ranking will drop some more, and then I'll come back. So let's do Classics 3, then. Well, we can do Classics 1 through 3. What I want is the rules expert. Since these are Classics games, the rules should be very quick to describe. We'll just go through these. We'll just go through each one, and you can tell me. Only ones that I know. Yeah, there you go. You can tell us if you know them or not. And you tell me. There are ones who I might know, but I only know by sight. Like Galaxy, of course. Whatever. Everyone knows that. Hang glider. Do I know that game? I don't know what it looks like. It's been in classics a couple of years in a valley. I think it's a four-player valley. It's different. If you know what it is, you can tell me what to do. I'm a newbie. I need help. Okay. I need help. Galaxy, what do I do? Alright, Galaxy makes friends with that upper left shot I guess, because it collects with every letter, I think but also watch the return from it, because I've seen Galaxies where it will just kick out and have fun with it what else Galaxy has those three targets on the right I think, does it? Galaxy has targets that are the key to the game because I think it's those targets that add the letters and add Add planets, it adds everything. And I think it's those three targets, but I wouldn't know about that without IPDBing it right now. All right. So hang glider, forget it. I mean, what is hang glider? Buck Rogers. Buck Rogers I remember vaguely from North Carolina, right? And it was all about that. You had your yellow multiplier targets, and if you got lucky, you had that captain ball in the far back of the game, right? Is it the captain ball? It's a barrier target. It's a barrier target. Okay, yeah. So, I mean, that's the only two parts that I messed with is those multiplier targets because it raises your bonus, too. Okay. Surfer. Surfer I've totally forgotten. Okay. Volley. Drop targets. Volley drop targets, but I suck at it because I miss the skill shot because the skill shot are the top lanes because the top lanes activate the drop targets. Yes. Right? Yes. So what will happen is I'll pull too hard and miss all the top lanes, so my target's only worth 500. 500 instead of 5,000, yes. So, you know, you've got to get to top lanes first and try to complete one target at a time. And don't get two at a time because you only get credit for one. Yes. Be careful there. Oh, boy, Mystic. Lovely Mystic. Tick, tack, toe. and the captive ball yeah captive ball definitely definitely captive ball for multiplier and the earlier you can tic-tac-toe the better because I'm assuming the bonus carries I haven't seen a situation where it hasn't carried is there a setting for that where there isn't a setting where the bonus doesn't carry and mystic if only it's Scott the only way I'd say it would be different would be Scott's software because Scott is the men that like you know we like because I'm thinking of Scott's mystic You're not thinking of the Mystics. Of course. Now one of Timmy's, well, hated games, but now he tolerates it. Silver Ball Mania. Oh, what changed there? He stopped shooting spinners. I don't know why he would shoot spinners to begin with. He should be shooting the loop. Yeah, he should be shooting the Space Invaders' horseshoes. Yeah, the Space Invaders' horseshoes. The problem is how open is the lane to fit the ball in there? Because there's a Silver Ball Mania I played that could hardly fit the ball in. and it looks like it didn't fit and this is popular who knows what kind of rubbers they're putting in there that's going to be interesting right exactly yeah they might throw in some mousing around memorial fat rubbers memorial fat yeah and then the ball gets stuck there when it goes around it gets stuck they have to keep getting stuck balls to get out of silver ball mania god I got the ball in the horseshoe it's stuck again I need a ruling I don't know poor Virginia's going oh this sucks this sucks I can't even so So, all right, so we know how to play that. Scorpion. Yeah. Oh, Scorpion. I love Scorpion. Did you hear that, Bruce? You got your left and right locks, right? Did you hear that, Bruce? I did. Bruce, Steve. I love Scorpion. I love it. Yep. Because you got your left and right locks. Okay. Then you have those three targets on the upper left side of the game, which I can read the spinner. That's what you need. Oh, I know. Yeah, you need that. so that the next time you plunge, you're just plunging for all those points on the spinner. The hardest plunge you ever want to make in your life. It's trying to get those points off the spinner, really, and then you just try surviving so you can relock and get some more points off the lit spinner. And there's an upper right part of the game, which I don't even know. You ignore it. It does something. It's a top-notch programming by Larry DeMar. Bow down. Bow down, Bruce. Okay. Okay. Nope. Jesus. This is my... Supersonic. Tap pass or get out All right There you go Gobble hole gobble hole gobble hole Stop calling it a gobble hole It an eject Okay whatever you want to call it A gobble hole takes your ball It gobbles your ball Your ball's gone. Bye-bye. Okay. So basically it's get the skill shots to the middle, middle lights the spinner, does it? And then it becomes, if you're on the right flipper, tap pass to the left and shoot the spinner. If you can't do that, then learn on a practice game before you pay some more money. because everyone else is going to do that. Also, tap pass and you hit the hole to get the multiplier. Tap pass hole. Yeah, but you'll probably end up in the hole after you're shooting the spinner to go through another top lane. So, you know, it all depends on how it's set up. It all depends on how it's set up because some are set up so they don't bounce right, and then some do. Right. So you don't have to really concentrate on it. Sometimes it will end up there by accident. Sometimes the ball kicks straight down the middle from that by accident. it. But really, it's tap, pass, bring the shot, or get out. Alright, so you've played your games now, and you've come back from the restroom in time to play Card Whiz. Right. See what I did there? Whiz nerd first, right? Okay. Oh yeah, I forgot, hey, wait a minute, Card Whiz and Wizard. Right. A lot of whizzing going on there. Okay. So Wizard, well, Wizard has a little bit of tap, pass, or get out too, but it depends on how it lands. Right, it depends on how it lands. You plunge your trot, hopefully hit the top hole, and you're going to find out. That's when your education starts. How does it balance? How does it curl around the right? Does it go off the left flipper into the right flipper so you can shoot the spinner again? Find that. Which flag is the double scoring? Three or four. I think it's three or four. It's one of those two. But you have to know what that is. Get that. Oh, yeah. And so you can get your double scoring. And it's all on how fast you need to react to that drop down the right side. Hitting off the left flipper. Do you need to catch it? Can you bounce it over? Do you need to just fling it on the fly because it's set that way? That's going to be what determines the scoring on that. Card whiz. Card whiz. Does card whiz have the row of targets with the jokers over top of them? Is that card whiz? I don't remember. It's got to be 74. or I forget. Pass. Pass. Pass. Because of that Joker. I know I suck on that. But Mars check. That's a goodie. Mars check. Light your war bases, completing the drop targets, right? And then the one war base doubles play field, two war bases triples play field, I think? Or is it more than that? It's double and triple, right? It's double and triple. I think triple is max, yes. So it just becomes, you know, getting one base down, you know, starting it, and then using your multiball to, you know, get close to another one base when you get out of it. Sort of like Barracora, you know, sort of doing the same thing. When you're in multiball, you're preparing for the next multiball, so you're never in single ball play for very long. All right. So aerobatics, do you know that? Aerobatics, I have a pass. No idea. Okay, good. Doodlebug. Doodle Bug, cult favorite of Pinberg. So, Doodle Bug. And it's probably going to be the same one, right? I mean, right? So, Doodle Bug, you got four targets on a lower play field. And one, two, three, and four, every time you complete those, the value of doodling with the center target goes from 10 to 100 to, if you get 1,000, you win. And if you get 10,000, just take the game home with you. Has no one ever gotten $10,000 a doodle? You know, I mean, that would be ridiculous. It would be every four seconds you turn the game over, right? I mean. That would be cool. Yeah, that would be awesome. So if you can do that, as long as you can, the more you can fleet those targets down, then the higher you're going to score quicker, and it's going to get to a point where you won't really know what you have as long as you're doodling to stay alive. And then you look up and all of a sudden you'll have a score way bigger than you thought you did. you know, but, yeah, and just try to, I don't, there are awards up top, and I don't even know what they do, there are bumpers up there, I'm just trying to get the four targets without draining, and without draining and without catching, because you can't catch it whole because it'll just go through, right, because they're gaps. Big gaps. Big gaps, so it's a fun game. Rubar. I appreciate it. Yeah, it's got standard flippers, so it doesn't go into my games I hate. Oh, yeah, two-inch flipper hater right here. Right. So, yeah, it's tilt ends game. It's an EM, but it has standard flippers, so it passes. Passes. That is fun. Centaur. Centaur. We have Centaur, right, which is probably going to get the most play. Of course. Yeah. Yeah, that, yeah. Unless they take the rubbers out of the side completely, you can't bounce back. They probably will. I hope they do. I hope they do, because if they don't, then that'll take a bit. You know, get your orb targets in the middle, get them in order. Get at least, you know, if you don't get them in order, at least get some in the bank so that when you complete the right side, you can, you know, when you keep those right targets, it'll light your release. So one thing I like to do is at least if I have two balls out, you know, I'll just start shooting at the right side in order. Because that's $150,000 a trip if you get it done and you start bouncing off of things. And it's 10, 20, 40, 80. That's not small change. And bonus, too. Bonus increases quick. Don't those targets have bonuses attached to them? Yes, they do. And also, if you get the multiplier up to, you know, you can really get a nice bonus. And if it rolls over, even better. That's a good point. is we have to know what rolls over, because it could be the bonus, it could be the multiplier, or even the orbs. Yeah, exactly. So who knows? You have to find out once you get there. And Andromeda, I'm forgetting what that even looks like. It's just a game plan game. Game plan. Yeah, it's one of those rare game plan games. She's with glasses, sunglasses on. Yeah. Does she have multiple eyes or something? so it looks like it's multiple eyes is that that red one with the Terminator 2 font on it no it's a little yes it is like a little bit like a Terminator 2 font Terminator font yes okay yeah I've looked at that and I've not played that because it's always been broken when I've looked at it I agree and multiple shows yeah it's one of those rare games yeah I see it at every show but I go to a lot of shows so there you go folks there's your classics one get ready now classics two we started off with one of my favorites frontier frontier wow the game that punishes you for making shots yeah oh man it does that's the perfect description steve punishes you for making and that's what makes it so good because it's and and one thing about it is those two like that you have the left shot and the right shot right you have the left shot with the targets you have the right spinner right and each of them has the little post there on each side that that just takes makes it a little bit difficult enough for you to miss it most of the time. And even when you make the target, you have to be ready to receive it, and it also has a little bit of tap, pass, or die on it, too, you know, because once you get your target on the left, then that collect hole, when you shoot the right, you bounce off and go into the collect. So you kind of want to alternate that across to get that bonus up. But you got your animals. You get your animals all over the place, whatever. But, you know, the thing with that is that you're going to get punished for living. You know, and if you can find that spinner, you win. I spent whole games trying to find that right spinner. It looks so easy. It looks so easy and tempting. Yeah. That shot looks as easy as nitro ground shaker spinner, but it isn't because it has that little rubber there, that little post sitting there regulating. You know, and it's just sitting there waiting to mess with it. So, good luck with that. It's a doozy, man. It's a doozy. Speaking of that, next game is doozy. The next game for that is blackjack. Right? Did it? Did it? Did it? That's the best. They speed those. Right? Good best. That's the strategy. So. Yeah. Doozy, I have no idea what that is. Blackjack is. And I've loaded IPTV now because I know we're going to get to the point where we don't know where stuff is. But blackjack, beat the dealer. Right, you know. My thing with Blackjack is that I have to walk up to it and I have to remember what moves what. Like what targets move the player and what moves the dealer. And then it gets to the point where I just don't care. Yeah. I'm really curious what software they have on that. I'm really curious. Steve, do the best thing. Do the best thing. Go up, just hit the spinner up top, get all four inlanes up top. Once you get that, the spinner's lit for freaking a hundred. There you go. Okay. You get this. Hit it all the time. And once you get the upper four, the outlanes are 50,000. So if you drain, you still get 50,000. Okay, that's good. Yeah, 50,000 is serious business on that game. It is. It is. So if you can't hit your right shot for the hole, go back up top, take the safe shot, get up top and get those four inlanes, and then boom, you're almost in heaven. I'm really curious if they'll have the tournament ROM on that. They might, might not But it would be better if they did But what are you going to do? Space Race Space Race Alright, is that the next one? Did I have no idea? Sounds like a Gottlieb or something That picture is the back glass in my head Alright, let me see here Where am I? I think I lost place here Space Race is A real game this is classics too I'm on the maybe I'm on the wrong list I have the Pinside list here so that must be wrong which list are you looking at Tilt Forums list okay that's the better list okay it's uh I remember this game this was in Pinburg last year uh targets five drop targets on the left five drop targets on the right it's a good game actually I remember um what's his name a couple of the West Coast guys teach me how to play this it's a fun game definitely highly recommend it, but it is a real game. R-E-E-L. Okay. Then we have The Age of Aquarius. Aquarius rocks. All right, here we go. See, now I guess I can catch up with the, be it Papa Knight, oh, that's the Papa 19 game revealed. I'm on the wrong list now. See, I'm on the, yeah. We're Papa 20. Yeah, Papa 19. Why is that still on? Okay, Papa 20. All right. It's classics. It's classics anyway, so I know that. I just gave you the link. if you go to Skype and you go up to the upper right hand side with the little messaging click that and then click the link Papa20Games they called it alright cool so there we go so I can kill this ghost because it didn't really it didn't help me I'm going to the tactics part so I'm not going to know much about Jack Okay, let's see. Aquarius, Time Zone, Gator, Robo... Wow. Robots. Which targets? Because Robot is from the... Who made Firefly? Firefly is, yes. Right. Because I only know that from playing it at Papa because I thought of how weird it looked. I have no idea how to play it, though. But then trying to get to Flash with... I guess no multiball, though, right? No, we can't be that good. No. Scuba, another early wedgehead. And Cyclops or Cyclopes? Cyclops. Yeah, that's good. Yeah, complete the Cyclopes targets to light the multiball. But depending on the setting, it's probably going to be all of them, right? Not just one. No, I think it's all. Not just, it's going to be all of them because, I mean, sometimes you get, like, half of them and, like, you know, either the first half or the second half and they'll light it. And if you light it, maybe you can hard plunge the multiball. Like, you know, you can bounce it off the far wall and have it bounce in there, you know, without effort, you know. But, I mean, as far as Cyclops, that's the only party game I've played for. The other party that game, I have no idea about. like the eyes bonus and what life the spinner bonus and what happens when you complete monster and what happens I mean there's all sorts of stuff that I'm aware of but I don't get that far so I'm just trying to get the multiball and survive while I'm in there with my double play field or whatever you know so that works for me as far as that faces I remember from Expo as just being weird it is weird as just being a weird game where you don't want to punch too hard you got bouncing all back around Yeah, feces. That's what I called it. Yeah, that was rough. Yeah, that was that big when we had faces and then we had, like, warlock in it, I think. Something like that at Dexpro. That was an interesting one. Scuba. Is that the one with all the lanes, like, on the right side or something like that? Okay. Yes. Another one of those. Yep, with a lit and it bounces. It's almost like a little bit like Centigrade 37 in some ways. Bruce specializes in aquatic games. Okay. You know, Scuba, Fathom, Aquarius. What's wrong with that? No problem High Hand is another Wedgehead single High Hand Is that the Yeah the famous High Hand That Josh hates Or something Yeah Alright And then you have The All Star Stars The cult favorite All Star Of the world Stars I got one I got one Steve This week Okay He's joined the club The exclusive club He's joined the stars club He's like Does your star Allow you to Catch the ball On the left over And bounce it off the set of posts and catch it on the right flipper? No, we just need the flipper rebuild. Okay. That's the next thing. I'm ordering parts right now as we speak. I'm multitasking. Alright. It'll go down to instead of, would you buy that game would you buy those parts? Yes. On that level. Oh man. And in Ron's favorite Ali. Ali! Yes. Well, yeah. Does Ali's bonus carry over All the time Because you have your bonus X On the top left And then everything's going bonuses That you can collect on that right hole Which is so tough to hit From what I remember Just hit the drop targets on the Upper left repeatedly And that's pretty much it Yeah I mean there are other stuff on there Because you spell Spell greatest which contributes to bonuses, I think. You're playing, building up bonuses anyway from hitting targets and hitting other things. Enough to where you can get that right hole over and over. Just wait for that bonus to count down every time you hit it. Yeah, yeah. Then we go to Classics 3. We start with the Rock Fantasy staple. My all-time favorite. Cheetah! I couldn't really say how to play this game. Just hit stuff. It's awesome. The game will play itself. Well, if you could sweep those five targets. And those upper right three targets that don't exist. I mean, there's even a spinner over that which also doesn't exist either. All that doesn't exist. And that is, I believe they definitely do have the tournament ROMs in that. Okay. So you over and over cash out the thing. Oh, okay. Yeah. So let's explain the difference, though. Yeah, there is a bonus collect in the left lane. Right. And basically, stock settings, it doesn't reset. So you can just hit it. And they actually had, it was one of the papas where they used that game before it had the different software on it. Right. And maybe it doesn't. I'm thinking of the one at Rock Fantasy because it's Scott's old cheetah, so he had his fix in there. Right. So maybe I'm just fantasizing that they'll have that in there. But what would happen is it would hit the ball. Oh, my. You would hit the ball. Is he running for Senate or was that an April Fool's thing? No, that is a true thing. Oh, I'm running for office. An April Fool's. I don't like it. I can go back on this. Yeah. Yes. So you hit the left lane, and in the particular cheetah they have at Poplar, it would, like, not make it all the way up. So it would go up, hit the switch, then come back down, and then you could just trap and repeat over and over and over. It was one of the most boring games you've ever seen. And it was one of the first years they had the TVs there, the screens. So you're watching it, and it's like, dear God, this is boring. Right. I mean, when it was made into that cheetah, it would allow you to go up, trip the switch, come down, and go through the in lane every time, and not like hit off the middle post and go down the out lane like I'm used to. Like every time it goes halfway, I'm ready to defend the drop because I'm waiting for the drop to hit the middle post and go down the left out lane or something like that. But that one, it would just go up, collect it, advance bonus, go down, collect the in lane, advance another bonus, repeat, and so they would just build it up and then collect the max bonus, 400,000. You know, okay, we're good. And with the modified software, you collect it once. That's it. Okay. Mm-hmm. So that's what Rock Fantasy has on there since Scott's old one. So then we have Pinball Lizard, which is also a game plan. So which lizard is this? It's not Grand Lizard. No, it's Pinball Lizard. It's not like – What was that weird green lizard on the back? Yep. Game plan, weird green lizard, and weird lighting. Like it has a pulsating light thing on the back. That's weird. Very weird. But somewhere, it doesn't have an exploitative bonus or something. Somewhere, okay, where's my multiplier that I can completely get up? Yeah, where are my multipliers? And there's like a captive hole or something near the top that has your multipliers or something like that. So that's all I remember from it. But that would be one of those – that's one I would have to walk up and look and see what's going on before I started playing that. Then we have Knockout. Wow, was that at Stankton? Wow. Yeah, I think it was. Is that a Gottlieb? It's a Bally. Oh. Right, where you can shoot it and then you have to time – you shoot a shot and then you have to time where you can beat the boxer and then you get an award for that. Something like that, yeah. and then you have well wait is Butterfly no Butterfly is not a farfaller right? I think it is it's what else is I forget I think it is sounds like a Zachariah bud yeah Sonic oh okay Sonic good old Sonic so we're kind of we have a great play field with no inserts where it'll be nice and smooth. That's true. The Sonics are always fast, man. You've got to love that clear coat they put on everything. It is. You've got Hocus Pocus. Hocus Pocus. I don't remember what that looks like, but I don't remember. Classic 3 is going to be tough for Steve. Hocus Pocus is another valley. With the wizard. I know with the wizard. with the magician and the girl, his girl, next to him doing the old hand gesture like, ah. I thought you were going to say something else there. He's doing a hand job. No, see, you just let the joke sit. You don't just take it to that level. No, I go right for the brutalness. So we go right for the R rating instead of the PG-13. I got you. Yes. So then you have one I think I actually know, the Eldorado. Okay, now I'm looking at Hocus Pocus with the double borders. Okay, now I recognize that. Okay. I'm going to have that play field. Okay. But the classic game, just look up and you look at it. You see where the spinner is and then light it. There you go. Okay. There you go. You have El Dorado, City of Gold. Okay. So how do you play Canada Dry? It's dry. What is this? Canada Dry? It's fast draw? No. Oh, okay. It's the one that's the same play field like 30 zillion times that they use? Yeah. Okay. Except this one, I think, has three-inch flippers. Right. Doesn't that one have, like, um... It's like the newer version of it. Yeah. So it'll be the newest version of it. So, yeah, so we can... It's a Gottlieb. So Bruce loves it. Mm-hmm. I don't mind older Gottliebs. Well, because it's based off an older Gottlieb. Yeah, exactly. Because it's actually, like, mid-'80s, and they based it off, like, a 70s Gottlieb. Yes. Yes. Then we have the Sonic... Ah, is that Star Wars? No, wait. Where did I skip? Okay. Super straight. Super straight. Okay, yeah. Super straight, which I have to remember. Okay, I don't remember what that looks like because of the acrylic one. That looks clear. That's the only one I remember when I envisioned it now because it was so strange. Spinner in the middle, two aces, targets in the front, and then cards all around the upper side. If you get in the upper left-hand side, it's like a kick out. It goes all the way back up top, and you get a 5,000. It's really cool, actually. It's a good game. I like super straight. I like playing it. I just don't remember it. Hey, there's classic games. I'm not going to remember a lot of these. A-Ball Deluxe. Oh, you don't remember this one? Yeah, A-Ball Deluxe. Is that even a classic game now? That's like a wild card. You know, yeah, I'm surprised Paragon didn't show up or something. So A-Ball Deluxe is one of those games that has graduated, you know, into being wherever you want it to be. So, you know, it's A-Ball Deluxe. You've got to get your butt kicked until somebody completes two racks on ball one. Yep. You know, and they win. Okay. You know, so. You're right. Who doesn't know how to play eight ball to lock? Good point. Good point. If you don't, go to the, there's multiple tutorials on that. Yeah, it's just a matter of what decision are you going to make, you know. Are you just going to go for the left orbit and see how you fare with that? Because people will survive with that. People will get two million just on left orbits. and I somehow not die. You know, and I say, oh, yeah, I'll try that. No. You know, I'll get drained. Well, the good thing is if you don't get the, if you totally, your timing's really bad for the drop targets, you will get the left orbit, and you can live off that for a little bit. Right. And also, can you backhand the drop targets, too? Yes, that's big. That's part of it. Can you, like, just fit it beyond the bottom of the slingshot? Yeah, you can usually get the 2x. It's the 3, 4, and 5 that really, yeah. That'll be a problem. Centigrade 37, another right lane. Waterfall game. Yep. Pay attention when it goes down to the right and bang it over into the back. Waterfall game. Is that a new term? Or is that in the dictionary? No, I just thought that's what it was called. I like all that. That's the waterfall. Because 300 has it. And, like, yeah, so, like, those games where you have that waterfall down to a suicide out lane, if you're not paying attention. Literally, it's like a waterfall. You're in the barrel. You're going down. And whether you live or not depends on which path it takes. Right. It's like you could go all the way down and get lots of points. And now you could take a detour out and die. I want that on the dictionary. The waterfall. We'll just call it the waterfall. I thought that was a general thing. I don't know if I ever heard that I mean usually you'll get the Path of Adventure line whenever there's anything like it goes down the Path of Adventure and it's always called that but I don't think I've ever heard Waterfall I like that and there's no 300 is bowling and 737 ain't water so I don't know why that came water in my head I like it that's what I think David Star Wars Star Wars. I mean, Stellar Wars. I'm sorry. Well, that's the Levy's new game. Yeah. He's got a Stellar Wars now? He just got it. He just picked it up, and they're all making, like, everyone's like, oh, it's not that bad. I'm like, ugh. It's like a Western-known Steve Ritchie game. It's not terrible. I mean, it's not terrible. It's Steve Ritchie. It can't be terrible. But I'd say it's his weakest. It is his weakest, besides Ataris. I mean, well, I like Superman. I mean, before Ataris. But between, like, you know, this came between Flash and Firepower. So this is definitely kind of the, you know. And this was a request by Williams because they wanted a wide body because everyone else had the wide bodies. Right. And they picked Steve because you were at Atari. You did two wide bodies. You know how to do wide bodies. I was like, sure. Sure. So, I mean, I talked to him actually about this game, And he said the one stupid thing that he said he did is the plunge shot. So if you plunge hard, it will literally come all the way around the loop and go right down the middle. Like you'll plunge it like, oh, shit, I guess I wasn't supposed to plunge that hard. Were you called that bad? Why, because of what a new player was saying? I guess so. He just didn't think that was a good idea. It took one time. It took one time to not do it anymore, you know. Like putting your hand on the stove. You know, it's like, oh, I'm not going to plunge it hard anymore. So as far as it makes one, two, three, or four a bit of a skill shot, instead of just plunging it and bouncing it off a wall. Yeah, all you got to do is do it once. Oh, I remember. I'm playing Stellar Wars. Okay, I remember now. It's another one of those games, too, that requires spelling. Yeah, Stellar Wars. It's kind of like Superman in that. It's even got the drop target bank just kind of right in front of you. It's very similar. So we have one of Bruce's favorites. I like Argosy. Yeah, I do too. In the, you know, I would like to play like Argosy, like Monaco sort of, you know, area. Argosy, Grand Prix. You'll be happy. Oh, man, that's the ultimate. Like Argosy, Grand Prix, Aztec, right? Just put all that in a row. I'll take that, you know what I'm saying? I'll take a couple Sonics too there. You know, because they're really inside. So I'd be happy with that. Yeah, I'd be happy. What do I do on Argos? Yeah, I definitely hit that lane on the top. Right. You get the lane up top. You also want to keep it up in the lane. You want to go for the drop targets because that will give you then a little light your double bonus to actually get the double bonus in the hole, the kick-out hole. So you want to get that. And when you get the upper lane, it also opens the gate, which is a good side for the left-hand side. And then once you get the drop targets down, your light spinner, your spinner lit. You're ready to cash in. Yeah. There he is. That's our go and see. Boom. Arr. There we have it. Kiss. Kiss. The original kiss. Here we go. Yep. Skill shot. Flying. Yeah. Plunge center lane. Plunge center lane. Hopefully your yellow light is lit when you step up. It might be. It might not. Depends on the settings, too. Yeah. Maybe, maybe not. You know, you just have to see when you get up there. Hit spinners repeatedly to get up top. Continue to try to get center lane to spell kiss. Yes, without doing all the work. Yeah, without doing all the work. Hit targets on right for multiplier, but they are belly stand-ups, so they may or may not register. Good luck. Right. so you can tell when people are playing kiss when they go for the right oh man that was my double ball you know and then they drain exactly then they drain why did that count you know because I've done that you know you hit directly off a target and it's like nope valley brick it's a valley brick but it's not even targets it's a stand up target it doesn't work I call it the playboy effect it's like the center bunny in front of you where you just pound a thing dead center and it does not rest I only need this one to get them up. Nope. It's like, not only do you not get to multiply it, but now you drain. Thank you. All we need is one target, Rodney. Famous last words. Wow. Wow. Is it less filling, or does it taste great? It tastes great. Okay. Old commercial reference, folks. Let's see. Actually, that's from back to school, isn't it? Yeah, this is back to school. Yeah. When he's flicking around the channels, he only needs one Ben Roddy. So then we got Snow Derby. No, no, no. Super Orbit, the prequel, right? Oh, okay. So don't die. Yeah, well, don't die. Shoot the spinners. Right, but then you have, does this one have one of those ball five triple bonuses or something? It's something that imbalances the balls on this, right? It's like, yeah, you have your lap bonuses. Yeah, I think it does have the last ball being the double bonus. I hate those balls. I hate those games. I hate those games. Well, like, ball five, triple bonus or double bonus. You know? Like, what the frick? It was like, okay, so don't screw up here on this particular ball. You screwed up on the previous four balls, but don't screw up here, and you'll be okay. You know? Whereas somebody who just destroyed on the first four balls and houses the fifth ball has the same score. All right. Excellent. Thanks, guys. Then we have one of Bruce's favorites, Genie. Oh, okay. What? I just don't like the upper play field. Okay. It's wide and slow. It's total silence. Like, I don't even know how to play it. I mean, yeah. Oh, okay. Oh, all right. I thought we were from a place of knowing how to get the multipliers from those targets. Yeah, as soon as I can get the targets, right, the spinner will light to entice you. But don't go for it. Don't go for it. Never. You know, you want to get those multipliers up so you can 5X your bonus cash in from the upper right hole. And you can do that. So Genie is one of the only games where you don't want to hit a spinner. Yes. That makes it suck just right there, really. I agree. Well, it's a Gottlieb. Oh, well, but it's an old Gottlieb. You said you didn't hate those as much. No, no, no, no, no. It's not based off another Gottlieb. Older. Yeah. Oh. Okay. Stipulations. Stipulations. Yukon. Yukon I like. Yukon I had forgotten. It's the slot machine up top, remember? And you hit the, each pop bumper changes a slot machine. Wow. Nope. And then through the upper left-hand side, you hit the upper left-hand or upper right-hand out hole or gobble hole or whatever hole, and it will give you what the actual slot machine has. Then the ball comes out of the trowel. Yeah, and it can drain right down the middle. Oh, nice. Okay. So it's good. It lets you know to avoid that. Yeah. There you go. Oh, wow. I like it. Then we have the sequel to double action, triple action. Triple action. spinners, spinners, spinners, shoot the magic lamp that's not there. It's a magic lamp. That's what I think of it is. You know, and then I hope I can spin it enough to get triple bonus because it just keeps spinning it, right? I mean, is there anything that can advance that faster other than spinning it? Because that's not the whole game, but, you know, it just looks like it. Yeah, it seems like it is, though. It's a big old spinner in the middle. Spin it. Spin it. Spin it. Okay, now the division I would be playing in. So I need help. I need help for some of the games I don't know how to play. Heavy Metal Meltdown. How many balls can we lock in that game? Heavy Metal Meltdown has that ball lock on the upper right, I think, right? I think. Heavy Metal. I haven't played this in a long time. See, Steve doesn't even memorize. He doesn't memorize the game names. He memorizes playfields. I need to know what it looks like. I don't care. I don't look at art. I don't even look at the art. I just need to know what it looks like. Because, you know, as long as it tells me what it's worth, you know, I'll play a game if it's a white wood. I just want to know what it looks like. Art not required. Art is not required. Yep. Not at all. You know, I need the music, though. Music is sound. Required. Art, not required. Not for me. Okay. So heavy metal meltdown Okay yeah it does have It does have that you know Scream science looking lock over there Okay we have to lock We have to lock as many balls as you can up there In order to release them and then basically have fun with all the balls But that's all I remember from it Let's see if I can zoom into it See what else we got Yeah that's what it looks like Let's see we've got multipliers on the right The only thing I remember is locking all those balls In that contraption on the upper right That's all I remember from it So let's see, I'll write that down, skip that game Okay Yeah, scratch, right through it Scratch Yeah, I only remember having a really long game on it Just from having like a whole bunch of balls coming out at once And I was just playing it, just playing it around and having fun But I didn't know what I was doing And we have Alien Star, another darling Wow, the cult favorite Yeah, the cult favorite Alien Star But you got a Shat-Stee in the lane And well, before that complete year, what is it? What's on the right? Alien, right? Alien. Alien's on the right. Yeah. So the alien targets fight the lock, and then you want to get the lock at 5X. But to do that, you've got to shoot the spinner because it's always going to start at 2X. So you need the spinner to rotate it from 2X to 5X, and hopefully it stops on 5X, and then you can get the multiball at 5X. And once you do that, basically the jackpot is getting the right inlaying through the left spinner at 5X. so in order to do that you need to shatch the right end lane you do an alley pass and then you trip the right end lane and then shoot the left spinner and your score will grow faster than you think it will oh yeah it's like it's 50,000 eventually yeah because it's 50,000 to spin but it's not it's like more than that it's it's classic the thing game there's the thing that you need to do and then you do the thing and then if the more you do this thing, then the more points you get. And you can tell how many people did the thing by looking at the gap in scores on the qualifying table. Yep. Especially in Herb's style. Oh my goodness. They did the thing once. Oh, they did the thing more than once. Right. You're going to have to do the thing probably three, four, five times to get points. Yeah. So then we got Adam's Family Light. Oh! Adam's Family Light? Wow! I have to agree with him on that one. Come on. Adam's Family doesn't have the... I'm not saying it's bad. No. It's fine. But it's Adam's Family light. But it's got the multiball, the classic Data East different stage multiball thing going on. Okay, so Adam's Family light with a dash of Tommy. Okay. Poor Data East. Oh, man. But it's still fine. Yeah, I want the W-Board Ether as a tri-ball. It's a tri-ball, right? It's a tri-ball. M-ball. It's a tri-ball. M-ball. Tri-ball. So is multiball the main strategy here? Yeah, that's where the huge points are. Now, I'm wondering if they're going to have the smart missile. In the division, will they deactivate the smart missile? Yeah, that is the question. That's huge. That is huge because that is the win button. I mean, you know, if they deactivate the win button, that's going to affect a lot of things. That is activate chaos now. Right, exactly. Yeah, activate the six-ball multiball now, or I'm about to drain before I got multiball. Hit that now. Right. Or even the best button ever, activate give me double, give me the super jackpot now, because I saved it, you know, for whatever hundred million points I can get from it. So, in other words, it'll probably be off Venus and be doing it. Yeah, because it's such a huge unbalanced button. Yeah. Especially because someone will get that far. I mean, you know, you'll... Someone will be able to make all the chaos and then get the dinosaur to eat the goat and then get, you know, have both supers lit, look around, hit the win button, and wait to collect, you know, hundreds of millions of points. So funny to be on a podcast here. Someone say, hit the dinosaur, eat the goat. Eat the goat. Eat the goat, you know. It is the goat, right? I mean, you know. I think it eats the goat, yeah. Yes, it does. It's almost visceral. Like, it's almost, you know, PG-13, the way you eat a goat. Yeah, you eat it slowly, kind of, yeah. You eat it slowly down. You eat it slow. You know, you earned those 50 million points. You earned it. Like, you eat that 50 million goat, you know. Then we got Tron. Tron, and this is a herb-style Tron. So, you know, it's going to be trying to get Portal without C, you know, get that 100 million. You know, because somebody's going to do it. This is V Division. So people are going to be destroying Tron People are going to be some skilled players And they're going to get that portal without C So if you're going to go for Tron You know Portal without C What is that? It's a sea of simulation When you get all the inserts on Tron Right And you have at least started them Then the game allows you to go to The arcade scoop To start sea of simulation where it will let you work through all the inserts you didn't get on your way to get the portal. The more inserts you have on your way in, the more points you get, you know, before you start C, you know. But then, like, the larger awards you get, like, for example, the first one is Flynn, the one that everyone gets. That's worth $1 million. And then the second one is worth $2 million. And the third one is worth million million and so on and so forth as long as you have them before you go in But if you don have them then you have to work your way through them at smaller point values You know, you have to, like, if you don't have Clue, then you have to get all the Clue shots. Instead of just jetting $2 million for it and moving on up the ladder, you have to get the Clue helmets. And then what's the next one? Is it Zeus, I think? I think it's Zeus, and then Hora, and then Gem, then. Yeah, right. No, Gem's the stopper. Yeah, there it is. Gem is the stopper, truly. Gem's the stopper. Yeah. You don't even want to start C if you don't have Gem. That's harsh. Yeah, that is just harsh. I mean, with that one, I'm hoping that, well, if you shoot the right over, it'll light the arcade. and then you get the arcade to advance a level at very small points, you know, and you'll get that, but at a very big sacrifice of points, though. Well, anyway, back to the portal without C. If you can have all the inserts solid, right, then instead of going to see a simulation, you go straight to portal because you don't need to see a simulation. So you get $50 million because all of the awards, one through nine, is $45 million, right? Yes, at $45 million. But if you already have them all, the game gives you $50 million. That's a special award. And the $100 million comes in if you have the bravery to double the play field before you do it. And somebody will do it. And it's not even like a celebration. It says, Portal without C, $100 million. Start Portal. Here we go. You've won. You don't have to play that game anymore. So with this being Herb's style, it's going to be how many people can do that. And it's not too terrible to do. I mean, you just have to make sure that you get all the other ones before you cash in your disc, because the disc sort of stands on its own, right? So keep the disc as sort of the last thing you do. And if you have all the other ones done, right, then work on the disc, hammer on the disc. And then if you can get the super jackpot on disc, you have them all. You know, so like the disc is kind of your fail condition on that. You know, if you don't have it, you'll just have all the other ones except the disc. But if you do have it, if you do get it, you'll just get $50 million. And then you can double to $100. You might as well. Let me just cross Ron off of my list. No, no, no. I see Ron wants to work on it the other way, right? Ron wants to work on it doing Life Cycle and Korra, right? Ron is like, yeah, no, I'm not playing this game. Because, look, okay, why not try and get a nice end-of-line combo jackpot built up and start a multiball, right? You know, you can build, like, you know, there's no problem having an end-of-line jackpot of, say, 3 million or so and carrying that into a multiball, and now all of a sudden you're just shooting right ramp end-of-line for 3 million and then double the playfield, right ramp end-of-line 6 million. You know, you can build that up in a different way. And what is the playfield doubler? Like targets or something? Yeah, one of the awards is the playfield double. The other is the spinner and the target, right, which are whatever. Spinner and bumpers, which are whatever awards. You just want the double playfield. I'm the type of guy, I played that, and the first time I hit end of line, I go, okay, yeah, I like that. Oh, yeah. And then that was like, to me, they just became the shot. I didn't want to shoot anything else in the game. Right. And if you play it long enough, then if you play it through a game and single ball play long enough to build that up where it does become the shot, you know, where you've built up the jackpot enough where it's worth more than a super. You know, so now you can just use that to, you know, build up points instead of just playing the game. So now after I've blown up Tron, put the grand champion on there, I'm now going to walk over to Surf and Safari, which is another favorite of Papa. but they've had this in a lot of different ways. Now, the only thing I remember about it, it's got, like, different colors and different ladders, and they lead to different something or others. You had two opportunities for multiball, a whirlpool that has some hidden lots of points on it. You can repeat that whirlpool shot, and it's a big point. So, you know, even though it doesn't look like it. But, yeah, the different colors. The colors on the game will show you which ones will light for multiball. And there's a multiball award for one color, and there's a multiball award for one all the way across. I remember that. Then there's another award you have to get. And your bonus is based on how much of the grid you complete. So if you can complete the whole grid, that's worth a huge amount of points, too. But when I'm playing Sunset Fire, I'm just trying to get the one multiball, and then after I fail out of that, inevitably, I'm trying to work my way to get to the other multiball. And then, you know, then I'm working on trying to complete the grid, which is basically shooting all the other dangerous shots. Another Bruce favorite, Sir Prince of Parry. Well, actually, we got another one of your favorites. We got Super Orbit, another Gottlieb. Wow. Which Super Orbit became... I'm not going to pop it this year, actually. They became famous at, what, the one Pinberg final, where some of the most important games of Super Orbit, well, no, actually, by far the most important games of Super Orbit ever were played. It's just the greatest game of Super Orbit ever played. I could say that without fear of contradiction, I think. Definitely the highest stakes game of Super Orbit that was ever played. Well, most people were gasping, you know, as each shot was made. oh, he went for the very target. Ah! Oh, he saved it. Ah! You know, so, yeah. I agree. And then those bonus collects. Yeah, you know. When going to that upper right, is the upper right a bonus collect or is this a bonus advance? What is it? On Super Orbit. Because there's an upper right shot in Super Orbit that records, yeah, I don't remember. It's the upper right gate on there. Because the left, that's your in lane, that's your top lane. On the lower left, you have that vary target that you're trying to get to the back. You have the spinner, which spins the super orb for your bonus. And then there's a top right. There's a top right that goes back down to the plunger lane that you're trying to get to. So, but, hey, if you can backhand that vary target, you know, you'll be pretty much good. If you can backhand that and survive, that's what it's going to be about. Hit stuff and survive. Oh, God. I don't know if I want to go to the next game because this could take another hour. Let's just say The Walking Dead is really complicated, and you need to know stuff, or you probably shouldn't play it. Well, it's The Walking Dead Pro, I'm assuming, right? Yeah, it's got to be. With the button. Okay, so it doesn't have the bombs. No button. No crossbow, except for when you shoot it, you know, your normal shot. So no Austin Powers in your field. So, that's from C-Division, Bruce. Yeah. So, with Walking Dead, it's going to be decisions. I mean, you know, you're going to try and get multiball. You're going to try and get your mode. I'm assuming that they're not going to let you start the mode while you're in multiball. You're going to have to start it before, as you leave the tournament setting. You know, you have to actually have the modes lit before you start multiball, and that's how you can stack it. So, but, yeah, with Walking Dead and good luck surviving, I'm assuming it's going to be tight. I'd be surprised, you know what, I'd be surprised if they let you move the game, you know, with the amount of time it's going to come out of the bumper exit and drain down the middle, you know, you kind of need to move it, you know, so I hope they don't let people move that game, at least a little bit. Well, Astor, you're done blowing up Walking Dead, then you walk over to Target Pool. Your entire world changes. Because they just played Walking Dead, right? Yes. Right? So, yeah, you just got finished playing Walking Dead, and now you're playing Target Pool, which has – now, on this Target Pool, is that the one where they can have – is it the 300s? Yeah, Target Pool has the 300s, where it's 50 or 300, right? that's the yeah the amount of lights you light on the bottom, that's the part I don't understand about Tiger Pool, is what determines how many arrows you have lit on that game that's what I don't understand it doesn't seem like the more numbers you have on the top, then the more 300 lights you have available but by that time I'm usually dead or whatever, because it's an EM game with mini flippers, so whatever but it has inlanes it has inlanes it has inlanes you know there's something going for it so hopefully you can light 6, 7, and 8 those top lanes are the 6, 7, and 8 right and once you get all is it once you get all 3 of the 100 bumper lights and then you can actually play some target pool with a decent score I think yeah so but I don't what I'm playing now is hoping I get my as many yellow arrow lights lit as possible before I get 300s before I drain, you know, because I'm going to drain pretty fast on this game. All right, so you've had five quick drains on target pool. Oh, yeah. You then walked over, you got in the Sopranos queue, and now you're going to play that. Now, I'm assuming they've removed the plunger, and you will have to hit the flippers to plunge the auto plunge. I hope, because then it'll take forever. so what are we well we're you just gotta earn you gotta earn it's just like medieval madness AFM you go for your you gotta complete your modes it really is just you gotta earn you gotta grind a living you gotta earn you gotta earn kick it earn kick it earn get your boat multiball use that to get your bada-bing, and then use that to bash on the safe to get your ranks. And when you're not doing that, hit each of the four major shots once to just get the envelopes to let you rank that way. So you can use one multiple to get all the way to underboss if you get lucky enough, and if you can use your fish for your add-a-ball, because you get your fish on the left as your add-a-ball, and you like fish with the in-lanes. And so you want to make sure you have that Before you start multiball Or at least when you get in multiball Pay attention so you're lighting that So you can get at a ball But it's going to be a lot of A lot of multiball A lot of bashing the safe And you know The queue in that game is going to be ridiculous Speaking of ridiculous The game takes too long We have Actually part three We should have a part three of an hour Just for this game I don't know Game of Thrones premium Game of Thrones premium Go watch a thing for that Because Wow Go watch Bowen's tutorial Yes Perfect He breaks it down and it's perfect And you need it They're going to blow it up And they're going to be a lot of Perfect Hand of the Kings With Martel flashing And the other four houses collected So, you know, that's what it's going to be. I mean, the perfect hand is choosing Martell, completing Greyjoy, completing Zac Stark, completing Lannister, and completing Tyrell, so that you have all the four good ones and an Adaball, you know, and that's it, you know. I'm sure some people are going to walk up and choose Tyrell and try to go for a points grab, but the power of the add-a-ball during the head of the king is too much to not do that. I mean, once it gets to be about Saturday morning and on Game of Thrones, you need about a billion to be in the conversation for anything, even in B Division, especially in B Division. There's going to be some butt-kickers there. And you're going to need at least a billion and a half to even be in the conversation. Everyone's going to be picking Martel and going for the perfect hand because you have to. Well, I'm not going to be in the conversation, I can tell you that. We're running out of games for you, Ron. Oh, we're running out of games. What games are you good at, Ron? Well, I'd probably play Sopranos. And we got Elvis. Elvis. Elvis. Now, that game can be set hard. I mean, you know. That one usually is there. Vicious. Will they have fat poles around the lock hole? Can you put fat poles around the lock hole? One side you could. One side. Because the game, it can get repetitive if you shoot, if you just backhand the lock hole. Backhand the lock hole, backhand the lock hole, yeah. But if you can't. If you can't, then you go for the upper play field and you try to go for, what's it called? Heartbreak Hotel. Heartbreak Hotel. Heartbreak Hotel multiball. Yeah. You got that. And then if you got multiball, you can, I mean, if they're kind enough to give you some ball saves, then slam those Elvis targets on the left. I think they have it. I think you can get away from that. Okay. It will give you a guaranteed ball save time. So, yeah. Okay, good. Go for the Elvis targets. Definitely. Because you can stack those awards. So you can get a whole bunch of gifts of Elvis and then come out with like a whole bunch of gifts stacked up and just keep shooting the right orbit. And don't forget with Elvis, you can actually get the gopher ramps. The ramps are smooth. Plus, they feed back to your other flipper so it's a safe shot, and you keep on getting the screaming fans and your buildups for that also. You make progress. Yeah, you really do. You really do, but it's not going to be all about that right hole. Can you backhand it, and how easy can you backhand it? If you can backhand it easily, then that will be another game where people will be waiting four hours to play it. Oh, yeah. Thank you very much. Steve Ritchie, how can I go wrong? Team Richard, baby. And then the last one for Ron. Countdown. Again, that was made for Pup and Dump because you will need at least 10 to 20 games to get that perfect game where you actually get the multipliers. Right. I'll tell you, if there's one rule that I'm a sucker for, it's the whole, like, completing targets in order to get multipliers. Right. That's why I love Countdown. I love Sinbad. the electronic version. EM actually has different rules. Yeah, I got yellow down, I got blue down, I got red down, and I still have no multipliers. What a great concept. I love it. I love it. Yeah. You got to do things in order. That's great. But then, wait, but then on countdown, if you get all the other ones except 2X, and then you finally get to 2X, don't you warp all the way to 5X? All the way to 5. I believe so. Yeah. It does the same thing in Sinbad, too, yes. Yeah, right? You can still warp all up to 5X, but if you don't get the 2Xs down, and you have not a... And you haven't played pinball until you've heard those System of One sounds. Do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do. You're not listening to it going, yeah, baby, fine. Yeah, I did it. Everybody look at me. I did it. They actually found a way to make that sound good. Yeah. It's like, watch me. You know, I have time to take a swig of water as this counts down, you know. I'll have to say, Godleaf System 1 sounds are actually better than Stern MPU100 sounds. If you don't believe me, play some, like, Nugent and listen to the sounds on that. It's so bad. It's like, oh, God. Terrible. Terrible sounds. All right. Well, let's see. Now we've gone through the games. Yeah, we're going through B, C, and D. I think we're going to be pressed for time. I don't want to make, like, a four-hour-like thing. No disrespect to the C&D But I'm not playing in either of those So After fire time Austin Powers shoot the toilet That's the rule set Shoot the toilet Transformers Pro At least it's the Pro At least it's the Pro It doesn't have the premium With the ratchet playfield Or whatever it is Right side plate, whoever it is, that's bad. You know. But, yeah, Transformers Pro is left ramp, right orbit, the game. So that's done. What else? Genesis. All right, at least Genesis, you know, get your body parts, and the more body parts you have, the more multi-multiplier you can get. Yep. You know. So that's good. And then you have to get all the body parts and not build up. So once you have them all, is that when the very target lights? You can cast it and then get the special, and then you hear that, you know, you hear that. So you hear a lot of those specials, the five knocks or whatever for that. And, yeah, Meteor, lovely. Yeah, Speed of Vision is not bad. You know, you got your Meteor there. You know, all the drop targets in Meteor are set for one. And then you go for Spinner. Spinner. Spinner. Yay. Hopefully that's juice. and then, you know. Yeah. Oh, it is. Theirs is. Yes. See, World Poker Tour, watch the tutorial. Yeah. You will need one. Watch the tutorial, but if you need one quick sentence, it's change gears, multiball. Do that. Fine. Get the change gears mode. Start multiball with that. Have fun. Change gears? Yeah. There's a mode called change gears. Really? And the good thing about that is you can actually control that. Most people don't realize that in World Poker Tour. You can control what mode you're going to enter. Yeah, because the right flipper changes the modes and the left flipper doesn't. So you can just have it on left flipper, move it to change gears and shoot it. And change gears is a mode where the upper play field is lit and then the lower play field is lit. And you have all the shots for big points. And if you have multiball, you're just getting points for living and breathing off of stuff and touching things. Oh, my. Oh, my. What am I doing, Jimmy? You roll through an in lane for triple scoring, and then you're getting points still. You know, what's great is, like, rolling through an in lane, rolling through a lower in lane for 3X scoring, having a ball in the upper lanes, and having the triple scoring count multiple times. It's just, you know, I'm going to get $2 million a shot for the next three seconds. And just walk down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down. $2 million, $2 million, $2 million. You know, so. Then you have big game. Big game. Complete your cards. Get your cards. Yeah, get your cards. Get your cards. And then get your left spinner. Yeah, it depends how they have it set up. If they have it set up easier where you get two cards lit at a time, the spinner will be lit more often. if they're doing one at a time not they won't be lit as often and yeah complete your cards there's big game at least if you have all your letters that spinner will always be worth something because it'll land in the hole and you'll cash in the letters so you'll be alright there Jungle Queen Jungle Queen what is that, hit monkeys? get all the monkeys Okay. Get the 5,000 hole on the top. Yep. Avengers. Oh, God. Watch another tutorial. Watch a tutorial. Watch a tutorial. And Avengers, I guess that one is your cue blocker there. Cue blocker. That's going to take a while. Oh, yeah. Another term, cue blocker. It was made a little bit better with the new rules, but not much. No, I think it is a little bit better. At least you don't need to touch the black widow spinner in order for it to count, as opposed to having to go all the way around and maybe not count. But it's still a lot of Hawkeye left ramp all day. Oh, yeah, definitely. That's the only way to do it. Yeah, the only way to do that. Theater of Magic. Oh, Theater of Left Orbit. Wow. Theater of Magic is a great game except for Fatal Flaw. Shoot the left orbit. and then when you're done, shoot the left orbit. In orbit and wait, say it one more time? And once you get 8x, shoot the left orbit again. And then when you're in multiball, catch your ball on the left flipper and shoot the left orbit until your jackpot's high enough to be satisfied with it. Or just keep on hitting the center shot and combo your way all the way up. So that is going to take a while. It's a lot of left orbits on that game. If you're going to need left over or center shot, feedback to your freaking left flipper. Center shot again, center shot. I had combo on our one up here. It went from 8 to 12. I had like 20 million, 20 million each. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. I know. Unbelievable. Bruce is the combo king, so. Unbelievable. Well, here's an even easier game. Black Pyramid. Either the left. Either the left orbit. left or the right orbit. Whichever one's open, take it. If you don't feel comfortable tap passing to get the right orbit specifically, because the right orbit will complete black and pyramid instantly when it's lit. Yes. But if you don't feel comfortable with that and you're on the right flipper, just shoot the left orbit. This point over there. Just make sure you can catch the ball on the way back down because there will be no rubbers on the outlay. At least it better not be. I don't care what direction it is. So then, after your dark black pyramid, Metallica, go watch the video. Go watch the video. Paragon. Get your tap passes down. Tap passing. Drop target and golden cliffs. Golden cliffs, tap pass, done. Yep. Then D division, we've got Robocop. The lovely spinner. Spinner, spinner. The right crew is here. The right crew is here. multiball is good. Jackbots are fine, but you can keep hitting the spinner, and it spins like crazy, that one. Big time. If it's the one I think it is. Unless they modified it. Medusa. Oh, yeah. Field and left side. Keep it up top. Left for multiplier. Yeah, hit it up the left for multiplier. Skill shot. If you can time the skill shot, it changes, though. Yep, it changes. And then your spinner's your friend. Yep, center spinner, cross center spinner if you can get the skill shot. One of the better skill shots, early ones, where you really do have to time that thing perfectly. Right. Power play. It all depends how it's set up. Is it set up for one drop target to be down or two drop targets to be down for your... Thanks. What do you think they would set it up as in D Division? I don't know. You want fast times. Boy, you could set it up for both. Fish tails. Wow. multiball or monster fish. Monster fish all day. Monster fish will get you the points. But, again, we're talking about Papa Herb's mouth. It's in D. So this is supposed to be people who have never played in tournaments before. All right, so it's MonsterFish. Okay, so MonsterFest. Fish. Yeah, left ramp, right ramp, MonsterFish. Get that up to $50 million for MonsterFish. Cash it in. Get a video mode once in a while. Right. Love the video mode. Cash it in, cash it in, cash it in. And you got Scared Skiff. All right, what's next? A little grind. A little grindy. It is a little bit of a grind there. You know, get your, what is it, get your coffin extender. Yep. Get your crate extender, right? And hopefully you can get a double scoring into the coffin. I mean, people are going to be trying that. That's the biggest one. But, yeah, that's going to be it. You know, it's going to be how durable is that right flipper shooting that left ramp, really. It'll be left ramp, left ramp, left ramp, lock, left ramp, left ramp, left ramp, lock. More left ramps, more locks. You know, so I'm just wondering how weak that right foot is going to get over the day, over throughout the day where, you know, they can keep that strong, they can keep shooting that left ramp, so you can keep lighting the lock. That's pretty cool. It is. You know. Cosmos don't know. Cosmos don't know. Cosmos has, Cosmos has, um, those, or at least if it's the one I'm thinking of, it has those, um, nine rollovers that aren't even rollovers, and then there's like a launch in the back where the more planets you have or the more launches you have, then the more points that's worth. You know, it's more than I know. I mean, it has no wind lanes on it that I remember. Right? So it's going to be one of those good luck EMs in D Division. Zipper flippers, I think. Ooh. Bruce got a man of zipper flippers. No, I just said they're okay. I'm thinking it is. I don't know. Maybe I'm thinking it is because I know there's, like, mushroom bumpers, and usually that means, like, there's mushroom switches, and usually those clothes swippers. So maybe that's why I'm thinking it is. Someone will be yelling at the thing, what are you thinking of the wrong guy? Yeah. Simpsons, go watch the tutorial. Go watch the tutorial. It's a grind. Watch the tutorial. Watch the tutorial. Stack your multiballs. Stack your multiballs. That's the easiest thing to say. The itchy and scratchy multiball is there to extend couch multiball. Yep. You know. Get no mode while you're in a multiball also. Yeah, just stack, stack, stack. Go! Light modes during multiball. Like, don't forget to shoot the right orbit while you're in multiball. I mean, orbit is your friend. Yeah, because that's something I, when I started playing Sissons, I forgot to do. I would get in multiball, now do everything, but then I noticed I wouldn't be doing anything else because I forget to shoot the right orbit to, like, actually start more modes while I'm in multiball. Yeah. You know. Then we got Whirlwind. Wow. Whirlwind, where the kill shot is on the plunge. Yes, it is. Wow. More people are going to dive on the first shot than anything else. Boom, boom, boom. Strain. Boom, boom, boom. Drain. It's like you went for the skill shot, didn't you? Nope, shouldn't have done that. It's like you wore the skill shot. It's like, oh, you soft plunged, did you? Oh, you soft plunge down the out lane, did you? Oh, I shouldn't have done that. You know? It's like, oh, you're full plunge in hopes that it will go around the mini orbit, right? No, I shouldn't have done that either. What should I do? Is there a choice? Yeah, full plunge it. Full plunge it, yeah. Honestly. Yeah. I mean, unless you can get really good at finding the soft plunge to a flipper and maybe try to sweep the skill shot. I don't know. Yeah. That's an advanced move. It is. Yeah. All right, so all you players. We did it. We did it. We got through all the games. Now get all your notes together. We're helping you out. Get ready to kick ass at Papa. We're going to try to get this out as soon as possible. Steve, we have a question for you now. We have a question for you now. You're interrupting me. I'm interrupting you all the time. Yeah, that's true. We have that same question. Oh, the question. the question. Pop him the question. Who's going to be ahead? You or Tim Balls? And A? Well, of course they're going to say me because I'm a competitor. That's more like it. Tim was waffling like well, you know. Tim, you're supposed to say yourself. Well, he was like, well, you know, because I'll have more time to qualify. Say yourself, Tim. There you go. We don't have a crystal ball. It doesn't matter. You know, when someone asks me how well you're going to do, I always tell them I don't have a crystal ball, so I don't know. But of course I want to win. I root for both you guys. You know that. I want to win. Come on, Tim. Tim, you've got to believe. Come on, Tim. You've got to be confident. I want to watch you guys Sunday. Tim's going to qualify. This is Herb's style. He's going to qualify. I feel like Yoda. I feel like I'm Yoda and I need to go up to Tim. Like, that is why you fail. It's like, he's going to qualify He's top 24 It's his herb style, he's going to get in I realize everybody in the world is there You know, it's just like, okay fine We're not going to get in the top 8 I fully realize I'm not going to get a buy Okay, it's his herb style You know, if it was Papa's style I might get a magical entry and get A top 8, but it's his herb style So I do not expect a top 8 For me, that's just being realistic With the games in A But, you know, getting in, I think we can get in. And even with my abbreviated schedule, I think, you know, I think I can get in at least. Since I'm ignoring classics, I can find six games that aren't Ghostbusters or KISS. You know, and Tim's got KISS. Come on. Tim, that's one game done. All right, Tim's got one game done, and that's KISS. That's one. That he's got. Right? That's one. Ghostbusters Ghostbusters you know I don't know that's a thing High Roller he can do right yeah I mean like you know like me Barracora I'm looking to do Fathom I'm looking to I could get game you know High Roller I can survive I just have to do the multiball right which I never do I just have to do it right and I never do it right always gotta hit that ramps gotta hit the ramps ramps ramps I'm going to have to ramp-tash it in before I'm supposed to. Like, I'll look up and I'll misread where the super is. I know. Is that the 15 or the 30? I don't know. It's a smiley face, and I don't know which one that is. And it is a smiley face with, like, pinballs around it. Yes. If I remember correctly, yes, it is. That's what it is. That's what it is. You know, so, anyway. And then, you know, Spike Iron Man and, you know, Funhouse. Yeah, so the games are there. You know. So, I mean, the only game I think is going to be ridiculous is going to be Ghostbusters. It's the scoring because of the exploits. But they're not exploits. It's the 6X ride. You know, how far can you ride the bus with the 6X? You know, but everything else you kind of got to do like a normal game, you know. So, I think we can do it. I think we can qualify once you get in. You know, we'll see. But it's definitely going to be tough. We're rooting for both of you. Oh, thanks. We're all three of you. Go Ron, go. I'll be sitting at home watching you guys. Getting ready for Allentown. Yeah, yeah. Allentown, maybe. Can't forget that, too. But, yeah, I've got to talk with Tim. I've got to get his spirits up. Yeah, I mean, he's confident. He says he's going to make it, but, you know, he thinks next year's his breakout year. Mm-hmm. You think next year's his breakout year? Yeah, he thinks next year's his breakout year. First year, he's really doing A fully. Okay. So he's like, you know, he's already discouraged himself. I would say I would buy maybe discouragement if it was set-based. This is Herb's style. You can get your games. You can do it too. You can do it. You can do it, Timmy. You can do it. No problem. You can do it. I mean, you know, like I said, I know when I'm going to be rolling in, my Friday is going to be shot. I'm going to be rolling in just as early as I can, and I'm just going to be, it's going to be like I'm punch drunk without being punch drunk on Friday, you know. Like, here's my money. Please let me just practice some of these games for Saturday so that I can really have a shot at it and see if I can get in. But, yeah, you know, I think we can do pretty well. Because once you get in, who knows what's going to happen. It's all about getting in. I mean, like last year with the set base, It was literally one game of Indiana Jones that kept me out. And it was the game that would have put me in was the next game of Indiana Jones. You know? So if it was her style, I'd have it in, probably. Maybe. No, not really. It's a different scoring system. But, yeah, you know, let's go. Let's go. Let's do this. Let's do this. Let's go, Papa. I want to see where I am. I want to see where I am as I get jealous to all the people who are playing classics because they have time to. and then I get to dominate. I'm going to tell you the one thing I'm going to be happy about. Everyone complaining about the Herbst pile afterwards. I can't wait for that. I can't wait for that. I can see it coming. Complaining? Complaining? So, Bruce, your popcorn is out, right? My popcorn is cooked and ready to go. I got a free bag. So what do you think the complaints are going to be about it? Because they're going to take the top 40. One of the top 40 players who used to make it is not going to make it. And they're going to throw the Royals thing fit. And it might be somebody maybe really famous, you know, really the top 10, 15 players. And maybe they're going to say, well, I didn't want to spend this much. You don't know what's going to happen, but one person is going to get left out. And it's going to be a big player. Well, you know what I say to that? You can always go to the Pittsburgh pinball open because, or is it them? No, no, sorry, the Northwest Championships. Right. Because they will be, I think the Pittsburgh Pinball Open actually. Yeah, Pittsburgh Pinball Open. So you can go either there or the Northwest Championships and get your fill of the former Papa format. I can see it happening, and then they're going to be like, oh, you know, I had the good show. And if it's a big player, you might hear more grumblings than normal, is what I'm going to say. Yeah, whatever. Move on. Move on. Move along. We're here to make fun of you. Move along. We're taking more risks. Yeah. It's about consistency. Now it's about taking risks. Taking risks. Yeah. It might beg for better viewing for a lot of the games, because people will be going for it where before that might not have happened. Well, yeah, especially during late-night beatdown time when people are going to be taking risks all over the place, especially on Ghostbusters. Oh, my goodness. late night beat down time. I love it. It'll be like, you know, once again, because when qualifications usually end at midnight now, and, you know, hopefully they'll have some broadcasting of the final hour, you know, following people in line, always online to play, you know, Ghostbusters. Here we go. We started the plunge. Oh, it was ball two already. Oh my God. That's Ghostbusters. Yep. Oh, Galerian Brothers over everything Oh, Scolari. Oh, God. No. What a shame. That's a tough trade. That's a tough trade. Tough trade off the Scolari. Oh, what a shame. What a shame. Ghostbusters. What a shame. Oh, what a shame. Went down the in lane and crawled over the divider and went down the out lane. Oh, what a shame. Oh, another airball. Oh, what a shame. Oh, this one went in the shooter lane. Oh, very good. They lucked out. And they get to go flat. Oh, sorry, man. On that note, I'd like to thank Steve. Steve, thank you very much. You're on the show. Thank you. His voice kind of held out. It's fading. It's barely holding out. It's fading. My voice is barely holding out until the end of this. You've got to rest that up for your announcing duties. Well, actually, no. You're not going to be announcing. You're not going to be announcing at all. There will be no announcing. There you go. Your goal will be not to announce. Yep. Unless you have a bye, that's different. There you go. But you can also cut a promo on Timmy. Like, yes, Timmy will be announcing. He'll be announcing me in the finals. Because he won't be there. Wow. There you go. I didn't say anything. I didn't say anything. I'm saying he could cut. I didn't say anything. Well, Steve didn't say anything. I'm just saying that would be a cool promo. That would be a good promo. That's what we need more of, wrestling-type promos. Before they actually have the four. Or they get to the final eight and they'll cut promos on each other. Right. Obviously, so-and-so has never been in the Final Four before, so, you know. Yeah, that's what we need to raise the awareness of competitive football. We need to start cutting promos. Cut promos. But I don't know if the charisma level is where it needs to be on some of the players. It would be required. We need the rock style, like, player. Super charisma. I don't know. Come on. Let's get those prize pools up. Yeah, get those prize pools up. You're going down, brother. I'm a real American. I'm beating all the foreign players, dude. We can't let them. This is USA, brother. We're going to play WrestleMania, dude. Yeah, let me also. Oh, no. We're going to play WrestleMania, dude. It's going to be tag team all day, brother. Tag team multiple spots, brother. Nothing less. It's like my voice is at that point where I can just do that now. Yeah. I don't wear it. Well, you know, Steve, brother, thanks for being on the podcast, dude. and thanks to my co-host Bruce Nightingale for being on the podcast dude and thanks to all our listeners hopefully this gave you something to listen to on your way to Papa if you're not in the circuit finals at all we will go into the mail ball bag next week and this is going to be a rare unedited episode you're going to get to hear all the warts and all because I'm going to get this out there it's going to be for all you people to listen to it's awesome super duper Papa preview edition unedited non-Pete Young version Non-Patreon version.
