## Analysis

Cary Hardy announces he is ready to begin his next pinball restoration project and is asking his YouTube audience to vote between two games: Johnny the Monarch or Judge Dredd. He describes the scope of work planned (cabinet/playfield teardown, new decals, clear coating, potential mods) and explains the voting mechanism (comments over one week, majority rules). He notes he has already started an episode on Johnny the Monarch previously.

### Key Claims

- [HIGH] Johnny the Monarch has a broken flipper rubber that Cary intentionally has not replaced to motivate restoration work — _Speaker states he broke a flipper rubber on purpose and has not replaced it to give himself incentive to tear the game apart and restore it_
- [HIGH] Judge Dredd is in better current condition than Johnny the Monarch, already featuring LEDs and being relatively clean — _Speaker describes Judge Dredd as having a leg up on Johnny the Monarch in terms of current state, noting it already has LEDs and is pretty clean versus Johnny being dirtier and needing more TLC_
- [HIGH] Cary prefers Johnny the Monarch as his personal choice for the next restoration — _Speaker explicitly states 'if you're asking me which one would I prefer, I'm going to choose Johnny the Monarch as my preference'_
- [HIGH] Both games will receive complete cabinet and playfield teardown, new decals, and full clear coating — _Speaker outlines restoration scope: 'complete stripped down of the cabinet and play field' and 'they would be getting the full tear down and clear coating'_
- [HIGH] Cary owns a 3D printer and is open to collaborating with modders on custom modifications for the games — _Speaker states 'I've also got my own 3D printer. But if there are those of you out there that do mods for either of these games, then by all means and hit me up because we can work together'_

## Transcript

I'm in the garage guys just got finished doing a little bit of spring cleaning I know you're probably thinking that does not look very spring cleaning with all the junk and everything in here but I do have a space cleared out for a future project and what project that is is going to be solely up to you. What's up guys welcome back to my channel where I talk and do everything pinball so if that sounds interesting to you then hit the subscribe button down below you know as many times as i've said that line i don't think i've messed it up in a long time but i think the reason why i did so was because my mind's a little scattered right now because i've got the mother-in-law as well as all the little cousins around the house there's like six kids here's guys and they're they're everywhere and so that's also why i'm gonna have to make this video pretty short because I don't know how much longer I've got before one or two or whatever comes running in here because they want to go to the backyard or play in here or ask me a question. Anyways, the time has come, guys. I am ready for the next restoration project. I just cleaned out my garage yesterday to get things all sorted and put away and things in position, and I've got a spot ready for the next game. The only question is, what game will it be? And honestly, guys, I got it up between two games and I want you to decide which one should I do Now the first game is going to be Johnny the Monarch Got this game months ago. I want it in my collection. I honestly have stopped playing it because one of the flipper rubbers broke, and I purposefully have not replaced it to give myself more incentive to tear the game apart and restore it. So that is something that I've done. I've literally been like, all right, that's going to make it to where if I want to play this game, then I need to get it cleaned up. Then the other choice is Judge Dredd. This is a game that has basically got a leg up on Johnny the Monarch when it comes to just the current state of it, because Judge Dredd's already got at least LEDs in it, and it's pretty clean. Whereas Johnny the Monarch is more on the dirty end and needs a lot more TLC, and that's probably honestly one of the main reasons why I lean towards Johnny. So the ultimate decision is going to be up to you guys, majority vote. But if you're asking me which one would I prefer, I'm going to choose Johnny the Monarch as my preference. But either one I'm willing to take apart and get all cleaned up the next question that I'm sure many of you would like to answer to is what all do I plan to do to either game and Those things are going to be obviously it going to be a complete stripped down of the cabinet and play field the I think both cabinets Yes both cabinets would be getting uh new decals so there that i leaning towards uh retro refurb decals for the judge dreads i seen the alternates and they look pretty cool but so then when it comes to johnny the monarch would have all new decals for that one when it comes to the playfield they would be getting the full tear down and clear coating. So you will get to see all of that again, if not more. When it comes to mods and stuff like that, I'm all about it. I've also got my own 3D printer. But if there are those of you out there that do mods for either of these games, then by all means and hit me up because we can work together to show off your mods for other potential buyers for your product. So how this is going to work is easy peasy put a comment down below on which game you would like to see done so jm for johnny the monarch or jd for judge dread or you can type it all out whichever but i'm gonna get it i'm gonna give it a week i think seven days should be plenty enough time for everyone to cast their vote you know by all means if you want to get more people on here to this so they can comment, increase up which one you want to see done. It's whatever, it's comments, majority rules, and that is the one that I will bring into the garage and start tearing apart. Now I must say, I need to add also that I've already got one episode of Johnny the Monic on my channel and that because originally I was like this is my next one this is what it gonna be And then I had to put it on the back burner due to a lot of other reasons And then I gained Judge Dredd also in that time span So that's why it's a toss up between the two. So if you're curious on what all is in store for Johnny the Monarch, then by all means go to my past videos and look for the Johnny the Monarch episode one. I do already have that up. And of course, I will have episodes that go throughout the entire to and fro of the project as you would seem like on my getaway and stuff like that. But for those of you out there that are my patrons, you will be getting much more because I'm going to have all kinds of behind the scenes footage of what I find and what I'm doing and stuff like that. That probably a majority of people out there would find kind of boring. but I'm going to have all that extra footage that I will be uploading to my Patreon page for those of you out there that want to see the extra stuff behind the features and tear apart things that others wouldn't care to see so there's something for you Patreon out there to look forward to as well I think I hear kids and the mother-in-law coming sounds like things are starting to get hectic I better cut this video off so until next time guys peace out Outro Music
