## Transcript

Jared. Jared. Jared. The Jared is on the loose. Welcome to the Pinball Ozwide podcast. This is episode 12. And as you've just heard, my name is Jared on the loose. And I was always joined by Matt. Welcome, Matty. G'day, buddy. How are you? Good, good. Thank you for the intro. If people don't know what that's from, it's a bit of a homage to the Beetlejuice game. So we'll talk about that later, though. We will. We will. I must admit, I didn't know. I couldn't remember it. So I think I'll have to Google. It's a language warning anyway, guys. So any young listeners, there could be a few swear words in here, but we'll try and keep it civil as always. As always. And thank you to all our listeners and subscribers. So it's fantastic. I think we picked up like an extra seven subscribers, which is awesome. So they're obviously enjoying what we did last month. And we do have some avid listeners. So thank you to you guys. You're making us want to come back every month and give you more content and feedback. Thoughts about the industry. That's good. I just want to quickly explain. So this podcast is called Itchy and Scratchy. Meet Bert and Ernie. now the reasoning for that heading is during the melbourne pinball expo we obviously met well we did we bumped heads with justin and and frank so a bit of a shout out to the mafia boys down at tassie um but we and this is probably going to lead straight into our month in review obviously but we we were going to metallica on the saturday night of the expo there and they didn't have any way of getting there and i said to them look you you know we've got room in the car I'll take you, jump in, and needless to say, it was one fucking eventful ride. He regrets it. He regrets that ride. I don't, actually. It was a fucking laugh a minute. It was. It was really, really funny. But we found out, I think unbeknownst to us, that those two, I don't know if it's the whole mafia, but specifically Justin and Frank, call us itchy and scratchy. Now, I'm itchy. I'm at scratchy. And you're scratchy. And I believe the reason you're scratchy is because you don't leave your balls alone. That's exactly right. You can't stop scratching my balls. But the reason for us being called it Jim Scratchy is that reason alone, apparently. But it was fun. It was an enjoyable car ride. But as I said, that probably leads us into sort of the month in review. So what's been going on, Matty? Do you want to start with the Matt Cave first and foremost? Matt Cave, still just waiting for building permits and staff. Okay. I was actually going to ask you a question about it as well. Do I need three roller doors or two roller doors? three or two I think for the aesthetic look you're probably best to have three but obviously hang on a minute just so the neighbours not the neighbours the listeners know you had an issue originally with getting some of your support beams into the house I had to do a bit of a originally we were going to redesign it so they could get all the beams and all the structure to where I want the shed to be built. And so they went through that and did a different design, which would allow them to cart it over. Otherwise... Well, hang on, just to back up. So the reason being is you have your neighbour's driveway... Which I was getting into. ..that they had to use because they couldn't come down your driveway. Yeah, that's right. So my neighbour's driveway, his property's at the back, and they just have to bring up the semi-trailer and then unload it with the crane. and that would allow me to build the shed that I want or the map cave I want, which I've spoken to my neighbour now. He's agreed and accepted to use his driveway, which I was concerned he wouldn't let me because in case there's any damages. But he's more than happy to let me do it. So I'm pushing forward with my initial design, which is 20 metres by 15 metres. So if that's the case, because the design you showed me, they adjusted it because when we spoke, you weren't confident in speaking to your neighbour and asking him for that. And I just said to you, just tell him. Just literally say, this is what I need to do. It'll be 20 minutes. And not necessarily give him the ultimatum, but just don't give him the opportunity to say no so that it was put in a nice, kind, neighbourly way, but by saying, you know, just hear me out and do me a solid. Well, the other reason why I was a bit concerned about asking, again, because I already asked him about a year ago and he said no. I guess that was also wanting me to allow permanent access. And I think that was to cut a gate in it or something as well. So this is just lifting over the fence, which I thought would have been okay and glad it was. All in all though, three roller doors. Do I really need the centre roller door? I only really need the one on the right for my cars to get my cars in there and some machinery. And the one on the left is just to get pinball machines in and out. Do I really need the three doors? Well, if you're going to drop the middle one, then that's okay. Get rid of the middle one. I would say that's okay. I think having the left and right roller doors is good to do. That's what I'm thinking. Yeah. Yeah, so anyway, so that's what's going on with the Matt Cave. Yep. So anyway, so we've had a big month, obviously, Pimple Expo. Yep. I went and did the live draw for the Harry Potter machine, which was raffled away from... Yep, so that was only a couple of days ago. So we're doing this on the Thursday, the 27th, I think it is today. Yep. So you did that on the Monday. Yep, which was raffled away by Pinball Sales Australia. Yep. And, yeah, that went to Michael Keogh. So congratulations to him, mate. And we actually met him at the Expo. Yeah, I had a really, really good chat with him. Good guy. Yeah, really good. Really nice bloke. I had a couple of beers with him too, so it was good. Yeah, very honest, very down-to-earth guy. So, Michael, congrats, mate. It couldn't have gone to a nicer bloke, to be honest. The problem was he actually bought a CE at the Expo. Yeah. So he's now got two. Yeah. But, hey, good problems, eh? Good problems to have. So anyway, then I went actually, a member on the Pinball Wars Wide Facebook page, put up a post asking if anyone could help him out, if any technicians around. So I put my hand up and told him to PM me. Turns out, literally, there's two streets away. I could literally jump my neighbour's fence, I'll be at his property. So he is on acreage as well. Lovely guy. So David, nice to meet you, buddy. And I'm pretty sure you'll be listening to this because I told you all about the podcast as well, as we do. so he had a cubo wizard which wasn't working he said he was playing it saturday night and yeah it just all went blank he said the um playfield was still lit up but nothing else working none of the displays the backbox wouldn't there's no lights in the backbox so anyway i just instantly thought i will go check a fuse and obviously if a fuse is gone there's a reason why the fuse is gone and then he was telling me the flipper was a bit sticky so i gave the flippers a bit of a clean and uh yeah just a once over which made a much snappier and But so anyway, so then I turned the game, I had a crack, and it turned out that the leaf spring on his left-hand flipper button was like joining because it burred itself out and it made a little edging on it, so it was getting stuck. So I got the sandpaper out anyway and gave it a bit of a clean-up and adjusted the switch a little bit so he can still play it, but I've ordered a new switch for him, so I'll go put that in the next few days as soon as it comes in. And honestly, he's owned the machine for 20 years and it's one of the nicest, cleanest cue ball wizards I've ever seen. Usually they're all beat up, but this thing, yeah. Yeah, nice. It's a lovely condition. People used to rag on it at gameplay, and I played it a little bit and learnt the rules a little bit. It's okay. It's not too bad. It was an outland drain. That's all I can say, mate. Yeah, it was. It went down the guards. It just kept going on both outlands. Yeah, there you go. So I said we're going to adjust to the posts on the outside because they're actually several way back, and yeah, it was just a drain monster. I think that's about it for me, mate. Just apart from mowing lawns, because it's crazy season at the moment. So lawns, yeah. I was out and mowed for about five hours the other day, so I've still got a few more hours to go because the rain came along. Yeah, did it what? And that's the problem at the moment. So it's too wet to really get out there and mow everywhere, just because I'll get bogged and just destroy the grass. So wait for a few nice days, and I'll be back out there hopefully in the next couple of days or so. Nice. What about yourself, Jarrod? What's been going on? Yeah, I feel like it's been a busy month with pinball stuff specifically as well. I mean, obviously, at the start of the month, as you touched on, we had the Melbourne Pinball Expo, which was good, good fun. We had the Thursday through to the Sunday, met a lot of nice people, got to have a chat with a lot of nice people and enjoyed that weekend, which was good. we followed that up with obviously a mid-month podcast of that expo as well which was good fun we did our own sort of review of it but then obviously had the walk around and speaking to a lot of the vendors there which we had really really good feedback with everyone sort of loved that environment and the feel of the podcast which was really nice and it wasn't it wasn't as loud and as bad as you thought it was going to be. I kept saying, Jarrett, let's do it. No, it's going to be too loud. It won't work. No, no, I was always willing to do it, but I was just concerned about the noise and how that was going to come out. But yeah, I mean, as I said to George at the time, I think I felt like I was really talking loud and trying to get my voice across, and I think it ended up being too loud at the end, and I did bring the volume down. But it was a little bit of live and learn on the editing side of things and the audio side of things, but doing it at the time, it was really good fun. The video that we were doing with Rowan at the time, that was rat shit, though. Yeah, that didn't work at all. Well, Rowan doesn't seem to be very good to use a phone. No, he's fucking useless, so Rowan, you're fired. He can't take a video. Yep, you're fucking fired. I'll just say, you know, Shannon informed me that his son is disappointed that you cut him out of the podcast. His son? Do you remember how he jazzed and then his two sons were at the door? Yes. Still, they're having a bit of a chinwag with him. Yeah. So I think we need to put them in the bloopers at the end of this one. Okay. I can see if I can find it. Apologies, Shannon. I think they were just speaking shit. So maybe it wasn't anything exciting. I can't remember. It was a bit strained. All right. I'll go back and I'll listen out at the end, mate, and I'll stick it in for you. So that's fine. They can go in the bloopers. Yeah, they can go to the end of the bloopers. Also, you've got to talk about Metallica. We went to Metallica. Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah. So, obviously, as part of our month in review, we went and saw Metallica on that Saturday night. We held hands. We had dickhead drunk people behind us. Yeah. They spilled their beer down on my chair, and I found their credit card. They were smashed. And, I mean, I... I gave it back, though, guys. Yeah, I know. I should have brought a round of drinks first. Yeah, yeah. And I reckon I would have just fucking done the old fling into the fucking mosh pit somewhere. God, someone else can have it. Yeah, Metallica was fucking brilliant. I mean, I'm happy to give a bit of a detailed rundown for those that want to listen. If you don't, just skip through maybe a couple of minutes. But obviously we had the car ride there with Juz and Frank, which was great. We parked, and I know at the time, I'm pretty sure, like, me as a person, and you know this, Matty, I'm very much an on-time kind of bloke, and I need to be very well organized with times. I mean, I think we discussed three or four times what we were going to do, what time to turn up, and we worked back from, you know, Suicidal Tendencies was the opening act. Which I never bloody want to see ever again. If I ever hear that word, S2, S2, ever again, I'm going to bloody neck myself, I think. I might just get it up and play it on my Spotify playlist now then. But, yeah, so we worked back. I'll swing back around to that in a minute. But we worked back from when they were coming on to when we should arrive, timing and all of that. And I'll be honest, I'm glad. So we left at about 4.30 in the Arvo to get to the concert at 6 because we had to leave enough time for merch as well because me and Rowan wanted to get merch, which we did. I got a Met t-shirt. And you know what? What? On the third floor, there was a merch stand and it was empty. Yeah. You could have gone to that instead of lining up in that one at the bottom. I thought the one at the bottom was okay. No, there was no one at the other merch stand on the third floor. It was on our level. On our level. Yeah, okay. There was literally no one there. Yeah, right. If we didn't stuff around waiting at that other section, Yeah. Could have just gone straight up there and got the merch. Who knows where the merch is, though. Like, you just, you know, we could have waited outside in the rain, but I said to Rowan, fucking let's try inside. Yep. But, yes, you're right. I did run off on you because... I seriously thought you caught a fucking Uber. That's how fast you are. Well... I don't know. We all said you must have ran, literally ran. I did. We turned a corner, so you did run. Yeah, correct. I said to you, did you run? He said, oh, no, I just walked. No, no. I think I put in some good strides. and the reason being is that, and this is why I brought it, and I'll just show it to you here, Matty, that the last time I saw Suicidal Tendencies was Saturday 30th of October 1993, 23 years ago. So I can tell you right now there was no fucking way that I was missing any of their set at all and I did make that pretty clear that I was there to see all three acts. And I know you've ripped into them. You're obviously not a hardcore punk kind of person. I didn't even know that was punk, mate. Well, it's probably a mix between punk, thrash, hardcore, because I used to listen to them all the time when I skated. So that was what, you know, I mean, those that know Tony Hawk skateboarding will know the type of music that that is. And it was, I mean, they played six songs. Six, seven songs, and it was a fucking awesome set list. Like they had You Can't Bring Me Down, Institutionalized, Send Me Your Money, Subliminable, which I'd forgotten, some other one called Adrenaline Addict, and then they finished with Psycho Vision and Pledge Your Allegiance. I mean, for any suicidal fan to get a six, seven set list was really, really good. So I was rapt to see them, man, absolutely rapt. And that's why I decided to nick off on the three of you because I knew you would just fucking drag your heels because none of you had the interest that I had in Suicidal. So I was like, I'm not fucking missing this. I've got a bum knee, mate. I can't go running like you, young blokes. Yeah, no, that's it. But as I said, I loved it. I thought it was brilliant. It was such a nice throwback. And obviously, knowing the songs, I thought they were quite good live. That drummer's fucking mad. I don't think he's the original drummer, but he was fucking mad on that stuff. He was brilliant. And then they were followed by Evanescence. Which I only knew a few songs. Likewise, yeah. She was just too loud, honestly. Her voice just echoed through my ears. Okay. Did you feel that? I thought she was brilliant. Yeah, she was great, but I just felt like it was just way too loud. Yeah. The pitch was like going through my body. Yeah. No, I was pretty happy. I thought she was stunning, really, as in voice-wise, was stunning. It was great. You know, obviously, I'm like you only knew three or four of them. I decided to video the concert for Nadine because that's why, you know, she wanted to be there. So it was a fucking 45 or an hour-something concert for a set list for them. My arm was fucked after that. Did it go that long? I didn't think it went that long. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, it was fucking... Well, I must have enjoyed it more than I thought. It was pretty fucking long. So she did well. But some great songs, great set list. and then into Metallica, which was... Mind-blowing. Yep. Remember how you said to me, it's a bit cold in here. I'm like, then there goes off the flamethrowers and it's like, here comes the heat. Yeah, yeah, they did, didn't they? They had the old crown tower fucking flames inside. But you could feel that heat quite good. 100%. 100%. That's obviously why they turned it down because they knew it was just going to get a lot warmer. It was massive. It was great. All the great songs were played. Well, there was only two songs I didn't know out of 16 set lists which is pretty damn good Yep yep Those two new songs were from the uh what was it that Was it I don even know what the new albums are So I can get it up It M72 and isn that the album name M72 Yeah, so that would have been Luxa Turner, I think, from M72, and obviously Moth Into a Flame. No, no one. You know that one? No, I don't. Oh, no, that one. I don't know what album. I'm going to push play, so you'll hear it in the background, but it's just more to get the album up. I don't know what. Death Magnetic? No, it's not. It's got the faces, the three faces, where they're pulling out of each other or something by the look of it. I'm not sure. I'm not sure. Oh, Hardwired to Self-Destruct. Oh, okay. That's what it's from, Hardwired to Self-Destruct. Yeah, fair enough. But yeah, likewise, they were the only two songs I didn't know. If I owned a new Metallica remaster machine, I would know those songs because those songs are on the machine. Oh, they're in? Okay. Yeah, because they added an extra, was it eight or ten songs? Okay. was and they're all in newer songs from all those i'm glad i don't have the remastered yeah not a fan of it either so yeah i just thought for again for metallica i you know not seeing them again in 32 years so last time was what what is that i brought my ticket stubs here saturday 3rd of april 1993 i saw them uh last time i saw them was back in at soundwave uh What did you say, 2012, 2013? You said, yeah, yeah. And then before that it was in Big Day Out at... That would have been 2002. 2003. 2003, yeah. I was at 2004. But yeah, it was a long time. Yeah, well... Then I saw him one other time. When did I see him? One, two, three, because this was my... Oh, I'm having a mental blank at the moment, but yeah. Yeah, well, as I said, I did the typical Metallica thing at the time and I dropped off after they released the Black Album. like a lot of their fans did because we just felt at the time it was like, that's not who you are, that's not the music we wanted, blah, blah, blah. And then every other album after that I actually never listened to. So did you know any of the other songs? Well, they were the only two songs that I didn't know, like you. Everything else was off the Black Album. They had obviously Ride the Lighting. Well, Fuel's not off the Black Album. No, but I know that because of the machine. Okay, and then you've got Where Ever... Not know where I'm at. Oh, The Day That Never Comes is the other one that I don't know. That was the only other one I didn't know. The Day That Never Comes, which is off-death magnetic by the look of it. What was the other song? I can't remember. It doesn't matter. Whatever. Well, that's it. So they started with Creeping Death, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Holier Than Thou, Fuel, Unforgiven, Wherever I May Roam. And then the two that I didn't know, which was Day That Never Comes, Moth Into the Flames. Then they went into Sad But True, Nothing Else Matters, Seek and Destroy. Then they had Lux Aeterna, so that's the other one I didn't know. Master, One and Interstand Man and that was it, that was their set list as I said to you, the thing that I was a bit pissy of, maybe because I'm as I said, going back old school to 93 I said to Rowan at the time they opened with an ACDC song and I'm like, I didn't come to fucking Metallica to watch an ACDC or listen to an ACDC they could have put in another fucking song and there were so many other songs they could have had in there for whom the bell tolls or Whiplash or something like that from their early days would have been awesome. Ride the Lightning. Well, didn't they do Ride the Lightning? Did they do Ride the Lightning today? No. No, they didn't. No, they didn't. Oh, maybe it was For Whom the Bell Tolls they did, actually. They did For Whom the Bell Tolls, yeah. They did For Whom the Bell Tolls. But yeah, Ride the Lightning. I mean, for me, a couple more off And Justice would have been awesome too, to be honest. Harvester, I would have loved to have heard that. And then they had some bullshit sort of intermission with Kirk and... I don't know, who's the bassist? Rob. Rob, if you're listening, give up your singing, mate. You're freaking hopeless. And he was reading, wasn't he? Yeah, what was the song that they were doing? It was Living in Prisoner of Society. So a nice homage to an Australian band. And a local Melbourne band, which they're actually the first band I actually saw when I was 16 years old at the Palais Theatre. And I was in the middle of a mosh pit and that was the most exhausting thing I've ever done in my entire life. I felt like my soul was drained by the end of that. But that wasn't a school night too because I think it would have been in year 11. Yeah. Next day going to school after going out at one o'clock. Jesus. But they could have just done a 30-second intro into one of their songs. Yeah. You know, I mean, he had a music stand on stage. Yeah, he was reading. Reading. Like, fuck off. Fuck off. He wasn't singing. He was literally just reading, wasn't he? Wasn't great. Wasn't great. Wasn't impressive. So that was the only couple of things that I thought. But overall, it's funny you talk about Evanescence and how loud all that. I felt like Metallica were there just to burst eardrums. Like, it was that fucking loud. But it wasn't that high-pitched sound. No, no, no. I'm not saying it was a bad thing. I'm just saying they were there to burst eardrums. They were just there to fucking fill that room with sound and fucking give you a concert. Well, I didn't get my hearing back until probably Monday, I think. Yeah, there. Monday, yeah. because I remember we didn't get home until bloody about I didn't go to bed until almost 10 to 4 I think it was had a shower and I was just laying down in bed going I'm going to get to sleep now and all I could do was eeeee and half deaf so and then the next day at the expo I was like oh my god what's going on well the reason it was such a late night is because after the concert we went back to the casino didn't we and we all walked out in front I think didn't we we all walked out up no we did we all yeah we all came up so thanks to Nadine and her birthday, I played roulette most of it because poker was shit and went and played some roulette, which was nice. But, yeah, so that was an awesome night. The only other things I've done this month, because that's what we were originally talking about, I obviously did a Damien Haggis podcast as well during the month because he popped up, so I just did a bit of a solo one there, which was good. So, again, got some good feedback on that, which is nice, so thanks to those that listened. What else? We'd had a catch-up on the long weekend as well. We had a little catch-up then. Did we? Yeah, on the Monday. Monday or Tuesday, because it was Cup weekend. Oh, it was a Monday. Jesus Christ. Yeah. So we had a bit of a catch-up and a bit of a play, which was nice. We hadn't done that for a while. You never come around. I can see I left an imprint, hence why, obviously, with no imprint. It's been a long month, mate. I thought that was last month. No, no, that was this month. So I played for the trophy again because we hadn't played for that very often. Yeah, played for the trophy, which was only the third time this year, surprisingly. I don't know why. Yeah, I don't know either. Not sure. I don't know either. And otherwise, lastly, I bought a 3D printer, which has been fucking great. It hasn't stopped. It hasn't stopped. It hasn't. I mean, I've been showing Rob a few prints as well along the way. I just did some more key ring prints with the pinball Oz wide and just some random shit you know like made me a couple little goodies yeah just did a couple light boxes so just doing a couple pinball Oz wide light boxes yeah look as I said I've just been doing a few things I've printed faceplate for Game of Thrones so just having a look for more of those sort of things which are pretty cool I mean I haven't done a lot of pinball printing it's just been like Christmas stuff you know and um you know one of my girls wanted some um stuff for her room so i printed you know a couple of the light boxes um you know done some stuff for even her friends and what have you so that is getting a massive workout it is fucking fun though like it's good i just switch it on and let it go and away it goes so i'm looking forward to doing a bit more of that so that's that's basically been my month in review. Like I said, it was a lot because I felt like we did a lot. We did. We did a lot. So I guess now it's just on to the pinball price watch. And now we're going to financially recover. That's just like your opinion there. I'm going to make them an awfully good review. So how have you found the pricing this month? What have you spotted? What have you seen? How are we looking? Look, we've seen, what's been there? There's been a Ripley's, believe it or not, yeah. That's up for sale at the moment for $6,950. Still hasn't moved. That machine was fetching $10,000, easy. And they were selling like hotcakes, weren't they? The Ripley's? Yeah, yeah. They wouldn't last long. And then I saw, I think at the start of the year, they were hanging around about $8,000. Yep. So, and that sold. But once again, there's now one for $6,950. So that's a pretty good price. I'm tempted to buy, but I just don't need any more pinballs. I just really don't. Then we've got a big Lebowski sitting at $15,900. Yep. Is that WA? Jason's, I'm pretty sure. Yeah, that's in WA. But you know, what's that off brand new price? That's for a friend or is that his? I think it's selling for a friend, wasn't it? Yeah, that's what I thought too, yeah. But still, that's like five grand off new price, isn't it? Yeah, I think the last time we had a Lebowski on the page was 16.5, though. So it's, again, but you are right. It still has flattened somewhat and come down a little bit. And then there's a Knight Rider. Knight Rider, an EM pinball machine. Oh, right. Yep. What's that? Oh, it was like Knight Rider. Yeah, yeah. It's an EM machine. TV series. That's at 2,800. You know, sure, it's an EM. I'd say that's high, but I think Knight Rider's probably a little bit more better than what I'm thinking about in regards to EMs. Just theme-wise and stuff, I think it's not a bad price. It's probably SS pricing, though, really, isn't it? When you think about it. Yes and no, because we're not seeing really many SSs less than $4,000, really, is there? No, I think there's been a few, but yeah. That's not too bad. If you want your first pinball machine, 2800s, go knock them down to 25 or whatever. Yep. There's a Led Zeppelin LE for $1399. Yep. So I don't know if that's a great price, but it's just saying LE prices below $15, isn't it? And also, I'm pretty sure that Foo Fighters LE sold for $12.50, was it? No. It didn't sell? No. So there's a Foo Fighters for $14 that finally sold. Sorry, that's it, $14. But Oscar has just put up a Foo Fighters LE as well for $14,250. Yeah, well, there you go. So that's showing that that price is probably where it is at the moment. So I said $12.50. Sorry, I meant to say $14. Sorry. Yeah. And while we're on the LEs, there was a Kong LE as well, which was Michael's for $18,500. I mean, that's pretty decent as well. But I found, I definitely think we've discussed premiums around that $11,500. $11,250. I mean, recently there was a $10,000 Zeppelin premium in WA. Oh, I didn't see that one. Then there was a $9,000 Zeppelin premium in WA. You know, Deadpool premium now is at $13,000, and I think that recently dropped again to $12,500. I actually reached out to the buyer to see if they wanted to do a swap with a Game of Thrones, but they weren't interested in that. plus cash because I think the Game of Thrones probably sits slightly lower in value than a Deadpool. I'd agree, yep. But yeah, so Deadpool was at $13. I mean, there was a Jurassic Park premium at $11.7 as well. Yeah, I saw that. You know, a John Wick just came for $12.5. Yep. So there's been a real shift in the marketplace. And especially with John Wick being so new as well. Yeah, and a Rush Premium for $9.99. Well, just under $10, which was on Melbourne Gumtree. I haven't seen that one, no. Yeah, so that's David. He's on the page as well. I'm just going to shut this dog up. Well, look, there's also a special machine up for sale as well at the moment. It's called a Peking King. It's for $15.50. Yeah, I've always wanted one of those machines, haven't you? Yes. I don't even know what the fuck that is. Is that a Peking duck special or something, isn't it? It's King Kong. King Kong. Because, yeah, the seller just... Got no idea? Obviously. Yeah, okay. I don't know what's going on there. I saw it the other day and had a laugh all over. Yeah, okay. Peking King. Yeah, okay. But yeah, otherwise, I mean, the only other couple I just wanted to make note of was the South Park at $5,500. Yeah, but that thing was busted there, though. It was totally... Well, it looked okay. Finally, it's coming down and about all it's worth. It's probably still overpriced if that's the case then. For the condition of that, yes, it was overpriced. Because otherwise, I know someone was actually looking at it and said, no, it's too... And the only other one was a Met Pro at $9,950. So that's... The Metallica certainly have fallen out as well. There was also a Johnny for $5,200. Johnny Mnemonic, that's $5,800. Here's a $5,800. Yeah, $5,800. so that's uh what's that change i thought it was five two yeah okay um yeah no no still at five eight um i did notice that i was going to mention something but i'm like oh it's probably about where it needs to be between that five to six mark at a guess uh depending and and yes i'm watching it just in case it um it does get to a price where i was going to recommend you to buy it but yeah i'd like another one in in the the collection but i don't know i've got one to play I think that's true. That's true. And I think I tend to be a person who very much has a machine and plays it, and I don't revisit those machines, and I don't bring them back into the collection. I always guess that I've sold it for a reason, so there's no point bringing it back in. I don't know if you're like that at all. Clearly not. Clearly not. Clearly not. As you know, I'm a hoarder, mate. You are. I can't keep everything, so don't worry. We'll get to the best buys. Yep. my best buy was the Hobbit. Yep. Yeah, we saw that on the page, didn't we? That sold instantly. And that was 10.5, wasn't it? And that was, as soon as I saw it, I came out and said, one minute live, one minute active. And I sent Jarrah a message saying, get on it, get on it. Yep. He's like, I don't know. No, it wasn't I don't know at all. I just said, yes, it's a good buy. But I've, as I think I've said to people on this podcast before and friends and fans. It wasn't local. Well, one, it wasn't local. but two, I just don't pull the trigger without discussing large purchases with my wife. It's just the way I am. Like, we need a new TV for the home theater because a couple of the diffusers have fallen off the leads, you know. So, you've got these white spots in the TV now. And the need is like, I don't even notice it. I'm like, love, I just want to get a new TV. And she's like, yep, no problems, you know. So, even with stuff, you know, I mean, Black Friday sales, mate, it's a three grand TV down to about $7,800. So I'm like, yeah, I'm pulling the trigger. But yeah, I would have loved that Hobbit. If it was in Melbourne, I probably would have been all over it, pending an inspection. But it sold within seconds, yeah. Yeah, yeah. It was instantly gone. It was gone. Interestingly enough, my best buy for me, which probably rivals the Hobbit, was a Street Fighter II at $2,200. Yeah, that's one with the smashed out, where the car is, the Perspex. The Perspex was a bit cracked, so it certainly said, but it was interesting because it said working, but stated it was a project machine. So my indication was that it probably just needed some rubbers replaced, some switches, you know, maybe a little bit of a tinker with the flippers, so maybe a rebuild or something like that, you know, some new sleeves or whatever. But for a working machine, for me, a 2200 is a really good buy. And all due respect, again, probably what it's worth. Yeah. But onesie, and you wouldn't buy it anyway because you've never seen a piece of shit. Correct. But I would have bought it because I know how to fix it up and make it look nice again. It's still a shit heap. Doesn't matter. It's tree fighter. It's putting lipstick on a pig. It's a snail job. Lipstick on a pig. So then what are we at now, Jar? We're at the what the fuck. What the fuck. Because I actually do have one this month, which I will say, but I'm going to let you lead the way with all this as you do. Yep Thank you and I actually going to say this is your pick because I have three what the fucks and I was a bit unsure which way to go So I'm going to give you my what the fucks, and I'll be interested to know which one you think it is. It's the almighty what the fuck. So the first one, which I think we both saw, which was a Simpsons pinball party in Queensland for $18,000. That's been dropped down hasn't it To $17 now I don't give a shit No no no It's still a what the fuck Because he started at that And I've seen this seller a few times Who tries to just fucking Push his own little barrow And how great his machines are And they're just over fucking priced That's one with all that Power to coating and all that Yeah so it had all It was all yellow It had alternate decals Which was I think you know Homer with the beer hat Yeah Drinking with the straws into the mouth I mean, no disrespect, but he had the Data East topper on it, which is really dumb, which I guess, look, it's the Simpsons topper. I probably shouldn't be too harsh. But, yeah, it was all yellow. I mean, the wire forms were yellow. The wood blocks that were inside the play field, the garage door, everything had been powder-coated yellow, which, I mean, I don't know. I wasn't a massive fan. And it looked okay, but it's still at $18,000 when I saw it, a what the fuck. The other what the fuck was a T2 at $17,500. No color DMD, and it was a stock machine. But the thing that I loved the most was I'm quite fixed on price. And the sales pitch. And the sales pitch. That's exactly it there. Now, already he's dropped two grand off that. But, you know, he's quite fixed on price. Well, it's at $12,500 now. $12,000, so he's dropped $5,000 off it. Because otherwise he was at $15,000. He was at $15,500, yeah. So he still gets a what the fuck regardless of where that is in price because that's just ridiculous. And my third what the fuck was a Star Wars Episode I at $15,500. So there's three for you. Now, I... I'm probably going to go with... I know where I'm headed, but I'm interested to know what you've got. It's a mix between Terminator and Star Wars. Probably Star Wars, I'd say. Isn't that interesting? I was Star Wars as well. And the main reason for that was Simpsons at 18K, I mean, they may be around a $10,000 to $12,000. So that's a $5,000 difference. T2, I mean, that's a 7, 6, 7 machine. I mean, he's $10,000. but Star Wars as well is... He's about a five grand machine. So he's 10 grand as well. So it was a close one. Yeah, I'd say Star Wars probably. I'd say Star Wars as well. So that's my three what the fucks. So, well, my what the fuck, I know it's your segment, but I had to just speak about it. Look, this isn't actually in Australia, this sale, but it came up. It's a JJP Pirates of the Caribbean at $29,950. And that's from Nitro Pinball in America. That's just bonkers. If you exchange that $29,000 to our dollars, well, what's that? Close to $40,000. What was it? The price? Yeah. $29,000? $950,000. So $45,875, basically. So imagine paying that, hey? And then you've got to ship it. It'd be crazy. And that's just for an LE, not even a collector's edition. Yeah. So that's my what the fuck, which I think is pretty what the fuck. It is a big what the fuck. Otherwise, what now? A bit of rumour industry news. There's obviously the two sort of main things that have happened is we've got The Walking Dead remastered and Beetlejuice that have been released. What do you want to start with? I reckon we go with the juices on the loose, eh? The juices on the loose. What do you think about it? Anyway, so have you actually had a look at it? Have you watched the gameplay? Why have you... I couldn't find much gameplay, to be honest. I did see that they've... I think it was Flip N Out Pinball has released sort of a... Featurette. It was just fucking annoying to watch. Like, the fucking camera... Like, I love you, Zach, but the camera panning across the fucking, you know, play field, like, starting at one flipper and then it skimmed across the other, and then, you know, it was just annoying to watch. So, look, when it was released, I actually showed it to Nadine and she was like, oh, wow, that looks awesome. You know, she saw, obviously, Beetlejuice popping up and she saw, I don't know, like I said, it's been years, she saw that big mouth that opened and that sort of stuff. You're talking about Sandworm. Sandworm. Which looks pretty cool. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's what I mean. So she was even like, oh, fuck, this looks pretty good. So, look, I had a look at it. I mean, I think overall artwork will start with. I think Franchi's knocked it out of the park. Amazing, isn't it? And all four sides are different. Yep. It's great. It's a showpiece. Yep. The artwork is on the body, actually, now thinking of it, and the play field is great. I love how he sort of overstates the use of some of his colours but uses them really well in the context that they're shown from back glass and everything. The only thing I was probably, if I was to be really nitpicky, was the coin door with the black and white stripe. Didn't seem to fit with the rest of the theme of everything. And it flowed onto the speaker panel. But when you look at the artwork as a whole, it just didn't seem to be a little bit off. That was all. And I was like, if I was to be a 1% prick, that would be the 1% I'd be at. But otherwise, I mean, everything else is brilliant. I mean, the shots look fucking packed. It looks like there's a lot to shoot for. There's heaps to go for. But look, I'm happy they got all the assets as well. Yep. So there's no cutting corners on this one. Same as they were. They didn't have to cut corners with that either. Yep. Mate, the topper. Yep. What a topper. You know, something... It doesn't grab me as much. Oh, 100%. I mean, Spooky have knocked it out again. It is a good-looking topper. but it doesn't grab me as much as their previous ones. Oh, yeah. The animatronics on the mouth look fucking brilliant, mind you, but it's just a stagnant worm or whatever it is. Like, that's it. He's not stagnant. His tail rattles as well. Oh, I didn't see his tail rattling in the thing. Yeah, he moves as well and follows you around. Right, okay. All I saw was just the mouth moving, smiling-wise. And they've also got Spooky Speak, which is incorporated with that topic. So when you walk up to the machine, it's turned off. And you have to say the word Beetlejuice three times, and then the machine comes alive. Yep. So, which I really can't wait to see in person. I think that'd be pretty damn cool. Yep. Just, I can imagine the shaker motor's going to start coming off, and then he pops up from behind the grave, and that says he's big. So you could be very disappointed then. Why? Well, if that doesn't happen. No, no. It's happening. It sounds like you're playing it more than what it's going to do. No, no, no. No, that's going to happen. I'm sure that's going to happen. And also, it's going to interact with you as well while you stand there talking to your friends. So it's obviously going to be connected to the internet, I'll be guessing, and obviously listen to what you're saying and it's going to respond back to you. Yep. And yeah, it'll be interesting to see what it says. Yeah. Yeah, they're obviously trying to push the boundary a little bit with what they're doing. This is innovation. This is innovation, trying to incorporate, you know, do something different. Yep. Which is great. And they keep doing this with every machine. It could just be Siri jammed into a machine. That doesn't matter. It's the same thing, isn't it? That's exactly what I'm saying. It could just be series jammed into a machine. Mate, I love that it's got plenty of sculptures in it as well. They're not just flat plastic sitting there, you know? Yep. So I just hope that none of them get broken. I hope that they're nice and strong and sturdy, that they won't smash off. I mean, apart from, obviously, you've got Beetlejuice that pops up behind something, so he's not going to get damaged at all. You never know. You've got air balls, mate. They come from here. Oh, yeah. Then you've got them when they've got their long faces and stuff. She's got the eyeballs out. They're all standing around. They did bits and pieces on it, mate. I think, I mean, if you look back at history, though, I mean, machines have had that. Like, you look at Itchy and Scratchy on the Simpsons. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They've, you know, mine are perfect. They've never been damaged, you know. So there's things like that. Same with... I just don't know what these are made from. Well, they'd be probably better quality than the fucking $2 bloody, you know, Stern Kids Tour that they'd probably buy and jam into a machine. So I'm sure they'll be pretty durable. And anyway, the Sandworm, that big main shop, That is pretty damn cool because what you've got, you've got the banker of lowering drop targets, and then you've got the sandworm comes up, he eats the ball too, and then there's also some targets once he's got his head lifted up, two sets of targets down, two stand-up targets at the back. Then that enters into a subway, which is pretty neat. And it looks like all the shots do something different. Like shots, you know, the same shot will do a different thing each time. Well, Buggers stated that he wants one shot to do three different things. That's exactly right. Which is a bit of a challenge by the sounds of it. And also, what are the chances that the magnet that's in the middle, that Stern just released Star Wars with a magnet in the middle too, is there some sort of a leaking design or a bit of, you know, just to have those two machines happen at the same time? Yeah, maybe. Look, I'm sure they'll just say it was just coincidence that they were obviously working on the same tech perhaps, but yeah, there probably could have been a leak. You never know. Interesting. So who was first? What's your thoughts on that then? Well, Stern can rush a machine out within days. Do you know what I mean? Like compared to Spooky. Yeah. Spooky have been working on this for a long time. So whereas Stern with Star Wars, looking at the quality in the machine... So you're saying Spooky did it first? I think they were doing it first. Yeah, right. And then it leaked out. Yeah. But it seems really cool because when you first launch the ball in Beetlejuice, I'm pretty sure with the skill shot, if you let it come up and just come down the out lane, the ball will roll down the out lane and then the magnet will catch it. and then we'll throw the ball up in the air. Yeah, okay. Well, hopefully not up in the air because that's where you will get damaged little things going on. Well, no, because the glass... You play with the glass off, do you? Of course I do, don't you? Okay. No, no, no. How long is it going to be? So anyway... Not even with the glass off. So anyway, it goes up the playfield and then you catch it. So it's like when Beetle just released, he just pops out. Yep. So that's pretty cool. Yep. And then I think from what I heard, they have a bit of an issue with trying to get one of the songs, like the song at the end, Jumping the Line. Yeah, correct. Remember that song where Winona Ryder stands there dancing with the ghost? Mm-hmm. So supposedly they said it's going to cost them $500,000 for that. Yep, which equates to an extra $500 a machine, basically. Yeah, that's exactly right. So which is cutting into their profit. They're renegotiating in the hopes that they can get a better deal out of it, and rightly so. But yeah, see how it goes, I suppose. Yeah. But overall, yeah, it definitely looks good. I mean, I like, it's interesting they've got dual wire forms that come back to each flipper as well. So that's quite good. But the couch shot looks pretty good. Similar to, obviously, I mean, I heard another podcast saying similar to the Simpsons couch lock. But, you know, I don't mind it because it's got a little bit of perspex at the front that shows, you know, just holds the balls in, but you can't necessarily see it. And then, obviously, the couch tips and releases the balls. What's the same as the Simpsons? There's nothing the same. Well, couch lock. It's just a bloody couch. well that's that's a similarity it's a couch wow and guess what there's a pinball on every pinball machine so they're all the same yeah but name another pinball machine that's got a couch no i don't exactly so that's why i'm saying to you the similarities are that you know there is a couch in them but again as i said i think spooky have definitely done it well you know a little bit of perspex at the front tips and then you know away it goes um and that looks like an interesting shot around, sort of must loop around the back somehow there and comes back down so it looks like a good shot but yeah, otherwise, as you said, everything looks pretty interesting in it. Well, they're not out of the park, honestly and honestly, Stuart has... I don't know if they've not, look, I mean, that's obviously your massive yeah, you're a massive Beetlejuice fan. I'm a fan of the movie. To me, it looks like there's too much going on. I would like a more simplistic style machine. I think just with regards to the layout and the amount of shots and everything I get that's their obviously what do you call it their angle that they're trying to do something different and that's really good but I just think it gets to a point where you're overdoing it you know there's just too much to shoot and too much to do you know same with Walking Dead and what was the other one we played at Tazpin was that Texas Chainsaw Massacre that wasn't too bad but yeah I just feel like this one as viewing it without standing in front and feeling it and playing it I just feel like there's just way too much going on way too much same as the Walking Dead what do you mean? no no no sorry not Walking Dead what was the Texas Chainsaw Massacre yeah yeah sorry I see where you're going with this one apologies sorry not Walking Dead Texas Chainsaw Massacre like that again looked like there was and there was there was a lot to do in there and it's the same with that Winchester one you know even you said that upper playfield section is very busy same with avatar that's very fucking busy as well so just to i supposed to wind it out because you were looking at me with a bit of disgust when i was trying to tell you that but that's that's my opinion is that it looks like there's just too much to do in it similar to avatar and those machines where you're like what the fuck am i shooting at here honestly harry potter as well is very much the same as well the only thing that goes well with harry Potter is the flow of the machine. So Spooky may have that flow and it might not matter. So the whole thing is everyone wants more. And Stern's releasing less at the moment. Yeah. Whereas all these other companies are giving more. I don't know if I want more. I think I want more sculpts and interaction. I don't necessarily want more shots. Okay. So I'm more immersed in gameplay more than shot play, if that is the way. Yeah, but with the shots, it's going to be different play. It's going to be different modes. Yeah, I know, but you can still... I mean, you look at Metallica. That's your all-time machine, and you've got a typical fan layout, and it's still one of the best machines going around. So I think proof is in the pudding that you can simplify design and have one of the best designs in the world, in our opinion, compared to trying to pack fucking everything into it. it's all been done before though, this is it what has? all the layouts, it's all been done so they're just trying to reinvent stuff as I said, it's not the layout it's the amount of shots I'm not worried about the physical layout of the shots but you just have too many of them that's all as I said, you've got minimum 4 Y-forms coming back to the flippers you could bring that down to 2 and just be done with it so that's all That would be the only thing on initial look that it's like, fuck, it looks like there's a lot to hit, a lot to hit. Well, I like it. It's all good. I know you do. I think a lot of people, though, and the discussion maybe is different now, so I'd be interested to hear maybe what our listeners think and what you think on this as well. But I remember discussion was, let's make it simple. People want to turn up to a machine and get multiball quickly and enjoy it. And Sterns certainly have been pushing that barrow, I think, for many, many years. Whereas you walk up to Beetlejuice and you're probably going to get 50% of people that like the theme that won't give a fuck because it's Beetlejuice. But then you'll have 50% maybe new hobbyists that are like, oh my fucking God, what do I shoot here? There's so much. How do I start? And that's the thing. how do I start multiball? There could just be too much for them compared to hit Sparky eight times. Yeah, possible. But that's my point to it all is, you know, I think while the innovation is good and that speech innovation is awesome I think for me as I said I just like a little bit more simplicity in some of their models possibly Yeah fair enough Moving on to the Walking Dead Remastered Yep And I sure there a lot of pissed off people out there again with them Yeah, releasing L.A.'s again. Yeah, they can't help themselves, can they? No, after they did that big spiel. I know they did it with Metallica as well, with the L.A.'s, but it's just, didn't they say after they did, what was it, the was it Jaws? No, um Godzilla or something like they released another LA and people cracked the shits and they said we won't do this ever again and the next man hey here's two remasters in the last year with LA's again yep don't get it nah it's a bit disappointing to be honest and for a game that's so like I own the original premium yep and you know that's a dark dingy you know grotty game isn't it yeah true to life to the series almost really, isn't it? Yeah, I'd say so. It's right, it's up there. Yeah. And then they've released this beautiful, colourful... I don't know. Beautiful is an interesting word. Do you know, it looks like a bloody sunset, doesn't it? It looks like a bloody tequila sunrise. Yeah, I mean, to put it in my words, it's fucking awful. No, but you know what I mean, like it's, but it's all pretty. It's fucking awful. No, no, it is, but if you get what I'm saying, so... Yeah, it's the wrong colour palette, though. It doesn't matter if it's pretty, it's the wrong colour palette. But that's what I mean. It's too pretty. Whereas the old one's dark and grimy. I think they must have had some issues maybe with the licensing because they've gone to a sort of obviously a cartoon-style look and I think even the animations are all cartoonish and the like. Yep. And I was expecting now that you've got this big, beautiful screen there, actual animations from the, not animations, sorry, actual TV series clips. Yep. That's what should be on there. And the full screen being used. Yep. But what's been used is they've added rubbish to the edges. Like, you know, you don't even use that whole full screen. Yeah. But why have they released it? I mean, I... And they don't have a license for the video still either, supposedly. But I don't understand why they've released the machine at all. I don't know. Like, it's... It's not that called for, is it? It's not relevant anymore. I know. Like, is anyone still watching The Walking Dead? What's next, Breaking Bad? Yeah. You know, like, maybe a Game of Thrones remaster. That could be next on the list then. only if it's got those little bobble sling head fucking... Oh, yes, please. That's what we need. What? The slingshot heads? They're fucking awful. Is Borg like, oh, you can do it as long as you put heads on the slingshots? Like, what the fuck is going on with that, man? I don't know. That's terrible. I mean, the play field I thought by itself looks nice. I don't... If you took the play field and hung it on a wall, I thought the artwork is okay. That's about all it's useful for, isn't it? A bit of a wall hanger. But don't you think, like, the artwork on the playfield didn't look as... No. And I guess that's because you've got mechs and rams and slingshots and everything covering it, but I thought the artwork on the playfield looked pretty good. I enjoyed looking at that. Did you notice they've changed the rollovers? I did. Yes, I did see that, but I actually forgot about it, so yes. So obviously, because we pulled apart your star rollover the other day because it was gunking up a little bit, and that was the first time you were like, oh, fuck, I've never seen this type of rollover because it was an encased-style rollover in its own little plastic housing with a switch or an optic or something in there. Well, yeah, I made you fix it while it was drunk, because I'm like, no, it's a school shop man. But there's a rollover in amongst the pops now in the remastered, so I don't know if you saw that or not. Not sure. So it's smack bang in the pops. What it's for, I don't know. Maybe it's to activate the ball save as it comes flying out of the pops straight down the middle. Who knows? No, I didn't. Yeah, yeah. So there's an extra rollover in there that I noticed. Like I said, again, I struggle to find any sort of video assets, gameplay assets, so I just watched the Stern one and had to sort of pause it at time. They did state that they've updated the prison as well as the Well Walker now as well. The shot actually might register 100% of the time. So the shot might actually register. I've done so much tweaking for that bloody head in there it just I don't know I can't get it I'm not sure but yeah they basically said the added features is an enhanced prison building bicycle girl and well walker so obviously they've just enhanced the look of them they've upgraded the crossbow they've put new RGB and illuminated zombie heads which we've discussed I'm talking about the well walker I remember someone on a rant because he was like, they've stolen my bloody design. So his paint, his artwork design. Yeah, right. So he was selling them on Pinside or whatever it was. Yep. Okay. And they've literally gone, oh, we like this. We're going to copy that. Because it had guts and shit underneath it, didn't it? Yeah. Is that what, because originally did it have all of that underneath or not? Because I noticed, and it's obviously got some sort of shaker motor or something attached to it because it looks like it sort of Yeah, it does. It moves really well now. Yeah. But yeah, I just remember someone having a crack so upset that they didn't ask for permission. They did state there's an updated rule set as well for The Walking Dead. I don't know anything about it. Well, because nothing's been released. But I don't know how you can improve from Lyman's, but it would be interesting. Well, they reckon they improved Metallica, though, you know? Yeah, I guess, what was that, a couple of extra modes or something, wasn't it? And that was about it. So it must be something like that then. Yeah, who knows? Who knows? But yeah, once again, playing around with perfection as it is. Yeah, I certainly don't think they needed to worry about it, that's for sure. But do you really think there is a demand for the Warped Dead remastered? No. Neither do I. Not at all. No. I don't understand who's made this decision. No. No, I'm not sure. I can't get it. And once again, having licensing issues after you announce the game isn't a good look, is it? No. Especially if they can't get their own crappy animations on the screen. And supposedly on all the animations, they've got the watermark across them as well, so... Yeah. Surely that'll be removed. Yeah, I know, but it's just licensing. And they've got Stern, like the logo up in the corner as well. Yeah, okay. So, quite funny. Too funny. So, will I buy one? Not a chance. Well, you've got one. No, no, but I'm just saying. I don't think it's a good buy. Yeah. I'm just not impressed. No, I'm not impressed with the remastered at the moment. They're sort of an inverted commas series. Yeah, neither. I'm just not sure why they're doing them. To be honest. Are they trying to reinvent a vault? I don't know what's going on. Maybe these are the new vaults. Yeah, mate. So then were we going to chat about the leaked photos of the uncanny X-Men topper at all? Yeah, yeah, okay. Yep, yeah. It's just another piece of plastic, honestly. And for pricing of it, what did we say the pricing was? It was about... $1,500 US. $1,500 US. And just the value for money, I'm not seeing. Once again, for a... Well, it's like a billboard. So it will have... I'm not too sure how many sides there are, but depending on what mode you're in, it's going to spin. So to reflect that mode, but... Yeah. No, I'm not impressed. I know you said you like it, but... Yeah, as I said, I mean, we agreed pricing on these sort of mods is fucking ridiculous. I mean, that's $2,300 Australian dollars, basically. obviously plus GST and anything else that they like to stick onto that. But I thought it was a break away from their typical plastic, you know, Deadpool thumbs up, thumbs down, John Wick thumbs up, thumbs down all the time or whatever it is, turtles, you know, with a rotating eye. Like it just felt like a good break away from that. You know, Avengers, admittedly, you've got the stones you can collect, but it's still... Which we finally fixed. Which we finally fixed. Same with Jurassic Park, you know, so it's very plain. So I didn't mind the concept that it was a rotating image between past, present and future. I like the concept. I like what looked to be the art of it as well because, again, it's not like a kiss topper where they just have fucking kiss sitting on the topper, you know, so giving it something different. But, yeah, you can't spend, I can't spend that sort of money on something like that. At least they're trying to do something different this time around. So I will give them a little bit of a tick for that. But otherwise, yeah, it doesn't really interest me. No interest, especially considering what Spooky are doing and even Barrels of Fun are doing and JJP. I mean, I don't know why they don't go back to the Black Knight sort of head fucking kind of days. Well, they did with Foo Fighters. But once again, that was like, buddy, three and a half grand. Yeah. You know what I mean? It's just too much. It's funny. As things, obviously, as everything comes down in the secondhand market, the still new market stays strong and stays where it is at the moment. But, yeah, that was an interesting topper. But, yeah, pricing is ridiculous. Yeah. So what's up next, Jared? What have we got? A new segment called Pinball 101. And the idea behind this segment is just a 101 tip of the gameplay or games or whatever it might be. I had a couple, which is my pinball 101 is whatever you do, don't turn on a machine 10 to 20 minutes before you're due to go out. Do not fucking do it. I've been playing Tron a little bit, and I thought, oh, you know, this is usually a quick, fast game. I'll give it a quick go. No. I got to Portal, which I haven't done in fucking, I don't think I've ever done, and I got to Portal, and I put up a Grand Champ, and it was like 125 mil or whatever. I was like, fuck me, right before I was going to go out. So tip 101, don't have a game before you're due to go out the door. The other tip I just want to give, oh, you've got one? I've got a tip. Fuck it, hey, let's go. Yeah. Don't walk up to a machine and press four players and walk away. It's the most annoying thing in the world. As a single player. As a single player, especially if you're at an expo or something. And if you're going to play the machine, finish the game. Finish the game. Yep. But one player. Yep. My other tip I had is, in my opinion, it is okay to restart a game after a cheap first ball drain. Yeah, 100%. I think it's great, mate. Especially now with the new stern, you can hold the two buttons down. Well, you just push the start button. Well, you can do that. For Bally Williams, one-twenty-second ball. Yeah, okay, yeah. But yeah, so I just thought just a little light segment, nothing major. Pinball 101. Okay, I'll think of something else for next week then. Cool. Emails. We actually got an email. Are we being sued this week? We got an email from... Seize it. Seize it. From David McKee. Which I've known through old AA days. So, Dave, thank you for writing in, mate. I appreciate it. I'm pretty sure I've seen the name come up. He just said, I just want to say, I've only recently started listening to your podcast. I saw the interview with Tim from Hot Rod of Pins, and that's the episode that drew him in, as he currently has a Creech with him. Oh, nice. Which I actually think I saw, David, and it looked fucking schmick. It looked really, really good. He just chatted a bit about Haggis. Yes, bittersweet, as Fathom is one of his grail pins. He managed to buy a spot. It was delivered, but he still has it in IB on the shipping pallet. He's not sure whether or not to open enjoy it, knowing all the shit he did, as in Haggis did, and hundreds of machines he still owes versus selling it and then trying to find an original belly. What do you reckon? I'd sell it and buy an original belly. Sell it and buy an original belly? What about you? I replied to him just saying, your call, mate. What gives you enjoyment in the hobby is up to you. Yeah, the original mate, the OG, that's Liza Testatone. Yeah. He did say, on a lighter note, his wife and oldest, oldest kid, so 20-year-old, if you can call him a kid. No, David, you can't. He'll be going to the, so this, I mean, this is before Expo, so this is on the 5th of November, so it was earlier in the month. he'll be coming to the expo on Saturday night he said just don't mention Metallica to our 20 year old as I tried to get pre-reserved tickets but they sold out in minutes so David was there in the 93 concert as he said I told him the 93 concert was amazing but deafening which it was anyway might chat if time on Saturday which we didn't because we weren't at Metallica well we were but I think Saturday I thought you said Saturday night No, so anyway, Mike Chattyf on time Saturday. Prior to COVID, he used to open his house up to meets as well, so he had a few people around, Mick Moira, Eric, Dave Ray, so they sort of all rotated, and he's hopefully going to get back into that one day, which would be nice. But I just wanted to say thank you, mate, for the email. Apologies, it did take me a little while to get back. We don't get many, so I don't check out that often. But when we do get them, obviously, I'm happy to read them out. So, Dave, thank you, mate. Keep in touch. I hope you enjoy this one. Otherwise, the admin rant, anything admin rant? I don't think there was really anything this month that's been pretty good. If you want to join the page, just accept the terms and rules. Seriously, that's about it. Because otherwise, you're getting declined. Just agree. Just agree. Agreed. Otherwise, that's been it. Thank you for listening, everyone. And we'll be back in, you never know, it could be another two weeks or depends on what happens. I don't foresee that. I think it's probably going to be after Christmas, guys. Yeah. Even the start of the next new year, I think. Yeah. Yeah, we'll see if we can squeeze one in before the end of the year, which would be nice. They're going to still listen. Yeah, no, I don't. It'll be fine. It'll be good. Matty, thanks as always, mate. Yes, thank you, Jared. Lovely to have you on the chat. Thank you, people. Enjoy the rest of your month, guys, and coming into Chrissy. Hope everyone has a nice, safe Christmas and enjoys it with family and friends. Thanks, guys. Cheers. We'll be right back. Jarrod. Jarrod. Jarrod. The Jarrod is on the loose. Yeah, but not one. You've got to make it fucking sound like, and the Jarrod is on the loose. Oh, okay. Because it was the first time when I met Frank quite a few years ago. It was at my house, and I couldn't stop adjusting my balls. I was uncomfortable. I didn't really know why. And anyway, so next morning, I woke up, turned out to have a bloody testicle infection. My nut was like double the size, even triple the size. Yeah, wow. And I was in so much pain, had the worst fever ever. So, had to get antibiotics. Yeah, okay. I'm sure everyone doesn't want to know about this. No, they don't. Well, they love it, so. I don't want to hear about your balls. I'm proud of it. It's a cool story, so I'm scratching. We don't need your music, mate. We have music, you fucking nafty. Oh, here we are with all the bludgers, eh? Guys, how are you? Good, good. It's all right. It's not live. You can relax. But you're going online though. We're not here to do anything. You will be online. We just thought we'd come and chat to the guys that are letting everyone in and doing an awesome job. You enjoying it or are you bored shitless? I'm going to move around here. Be honest. Are you bored shitless or are you okay with it? I've got a beer, mate. That's all that matters, isn't it? Did you pay for it? Yes, I paid for it. Jesus, that's not fair. George, you tight ass. Get the man a beer. It's not bad, but as soon as the rush is over, there's just not much to do. You just want it. saying hi to people, checking Instagram reels, that kind of thing. Well, make security do their stuff. And Dean Smith, Bimbo, we need you. I hope they're going. We need to walk past. Just duck out for smoke breaks, really. That kind of thing. Get security on the job and make them close the doors and let you guys have a go. Well, good job, boys. Keep it up. Relax. Back to it, yeah? Thanks, guys.
