## Transcript

Hey guys, weird seeing you here because, you know, I'm about to take a shower, but I mean, I know we've gotten close in the past 10 months or so, but, you know, there's got to be some boundaries. But anyhow, since you're here, I guess I'll talk to you about this conversation I had with Classic Kim this morning. She's like, you know, babe, these arcades, they're kind of gotten out of hand, and, you know, I don't personally think so. And she goes, maybe they could make them a little bit smaller so they take up less space. And I'm thinking, these arcade one-ups, they're already small, like how much smaller can you possibly be? And it's not like I have an issue or something. So anyways, I'm going to take a shower and I'll see you guys in a little bit. Son of a bitch. Hey guys, welcome back. I'm super excited because we just unboxed the quarter scale Galaga cabinet by Numskull. This thing is super cool and it's like really true to the original. So I'm kind of excited about this. I brought Kim with me because she likes this game. This is my favorite game. It's her favorite game. And she didn't know what it was actually called for a long time. Galagala. Yeah, she called it Galagala, which is awesome. So now around the house, we call it Galagala. But so she's going to be the one that's going to, you know, do some gameplay and check it out. I gonna show you a little bit of overview of the cabinet and then we go to Kim playing Galagala Okay seriously Numskull this thing is amazing So this is an official Bandai Namco product and it a quarter scale replica of the original 1980s Galaga cabinet. You will notice everywhere on here the detail is amazing. So some of the things that you'll notice here is the artwork is perfect so all of the artwork on the control panel is identical to the arcade. The side art, again, identical to the arcade. It looks perfect. The shape of the cabinet is the exact shape of the cabinet. And guess what? It has a lit freaking marquee. Like, are you serious, guys? The back of it has the air vents and the wire mesh that you would expect on the original cabinets. Like I said, all the attention to detail is here. And that's something everyone can appreciate, whether you're a huge fan of the game or you view this as more of a collectible item. As you get closer to the bottom, you'll find the charging port, the volume control, the battery indicator, and the switch to turn it on. Now, when you look at the bezel around the monitor, it also looks perfect, and probably the icing on the cake is the fact that it runs the original arcade ROM. So speaking of that, let's check it out, and let's let Classic Kim play this for a little bit and see what she has to say. All right, so we got it all fired up, and Kim is ready to go. So she's got to put her quarters in first. Alright, now she can play player one start. Are you excited? So excited. For what? Galagala The sounds sound perfect though Yeah. This sounds just like the arcade. And it's supposed to be running the actual arcade ROM, so it should be exact to the arcade game the way you remember playing it, which is pretty cool. You're doing good. Oh my god. You got this. I love it. So there is something I wanted to mention. You probably see some glare on the screen. That's actually the speaker that's mounted above the monitor here. Some of the light from the marquee is bleeding through. So I just want to let you know the camera does pick that up. It's not very distracting in person, but I just wanted to make mention of that. All right, you almost got it. Oh, come on. All right. Good job, Kim. So you like it? I love it. Oh, I just died. But yes, I love it. I just died again. Galagala. Galagala. Okay, so Kim is clearly having a good time. I wanted to show you a little bit more of the gameplay because I felt like at the angle we were at, it was tough to see. But hopefully you can see. It looks really good. The screen is a 5-inch TFT screen, and it maintains the 4x3 aspect ratio. That speaker that you're not seeing that's above the screen is 3 watts. It sounds really good. And on the back you have that volume control so you can kind of adjust it to your liking But I got to say all in all the experience was really fun Kim was having a blast with it and this is one of her favorite games I gonna insert a clip from the retro gaming expo where she was playing it I got a chance to play it too I loved it it looks kind of small here but it isn trust me it's pretty big it's actually uh feels quite tall actually when it's on the desk it's kind of neat and I didn't know Kim was filming me here so I'm like what the heck but anyways all in all this was awesome and I gotta thank numskull kick butt you guys rock and because no one reads I'm going to show you if you're booting the system up you can press player one and player two and get into the dip switch setting so you can adjust difficulty lives things like that how many coins and credits and uh yeah so it's kind of interesting that you can do that but before we exit I just wanted to say I loved this thing special thanks to Chris over at games you loved and the guys over at numskull we really had fun with this and I think that if you're a big Galaga fan this is probably something you're going to want to add to your collection. So if you like this video, please like it. Please consider subscribing to the channel. Put your comments below. I want to hear from you. And don't forget to turn on notifications to be informed of future updates. That's it for now, guys. Take care, and we'll see you on the next one. I like that. Do you think that was good? I think so, right?
