So if you've been watching the channel for a while, then you know that, you know, the channel's been mostly about arcade gaming, retro gaming, but mainly all focused around arcades. And it started with me doing arcade one-up mods and putting real arcade hardware inside those, and people really enjoyed it. And it's what really spearheaded the channel. And you know what? I love doing it, and I had a great time showcasing that. Now, the channel had taken other directions over time. I had got into, you know, a little bit more of the console stuff, which is stuff that I've always been into, but thought I would weave it in because I didn't want it to just be arcades, although that's really my true passion. So as we got deeper into this, I took a path that, you know, I actually regret now, but I did it, right? So I got to own up that I did that. So I started covering coin ops, which really isn't much different than someone covering RetroPie, right? I mean, there's a bunch of software in there that isn't licensed, and it is what it is, but it is a part of the hobby. Like, if you're into arcade gaming, it's hard to build a DIY arcade and not include a pie image or coin ops or something hyperspin and build it yourself. You know, there are other ways to do it, but that's pretty much what everybody does. It's the elephant in the room, right? Everyone does that. Well, you might have seen on the channel more recently that there was a purge of content. All of my coin ops content is gone. And the reason for that is that there was some software in there that I wasn't really thinking about its impact on not only the company itself, but just the fact that it was still software that you could go out and buy today So that wasn a smart move on my end I made a mistake by doing that However where the story gets kind of hard for me to swallow is that if someone does something to you that wrongs you, you're usually pretty good about just getting past it, right? But when someone does something to target you specifically, that's a little bit harder to get past. So I've been struggling over the past, let's say, I don't know, it's probably been about four weeks. I've been really having a hard time sleeping. I've just been a little bit irritable and I've just been probably hard to deal with because I'm having a hard time getting past this one thing where the reason for me purging all that content, you know, is because someone actually decided to target me specifically and tell the company that, hey, this guy is doing something wrong. But the thing is, this person is someone that is in the community and that really could have just handled this a lot differently. So it's technically kind of a personal attack on me where I'm not perfect. I've made mistakes as a content creator. I'm extremely competitive and I've actually ruined some relationships with other content creators because of stuff I've done. And I've learned from those things, but I'm not perfect. Right. Everyone makes mistakes, but I can be ultra competitive at times. But I wouldn't do what this person did to me. I just wouldn't do that. It's crossing the line. Now, was what I was doing wrong? Yes. But did it have to be handled this way? Definitely not. So now I'm on some radar for doing something that legitimately wasn't wasn't right on my part. But it's just really hard to get past that someone in the community would do that to another content creator without maybe even going to them first. It's just it's just a really crappy thing to do to somebody. so I just I needed to make this video to get that off my chest for one the people that watch this channel I don't I don't want fans sounds cheesy but I've really built a lot of connections and relationships with the people that watch the channel they're real I talk to some of them on messenger I talk to some of them on the phone we talk about lots of things I have a whole entire Facebook group where we where a lot of us connect and so it more to me than just I sitting here on the other side of a camera just making presentation videos It's not what it is. It's building a relationship. And when I started this, it was super fun. I had a ton of fun doing YouTube and I want it to remain fun, but this really kind of rocked my world. It took it over the line. And so I'm not gonna get pissed off. I'm not gonna get angry. I've been through all those emotions, but the one thing it did make me realize is that it's not healthy to keep something pent up inside. And I know right now with everyone going through COVID and everything, there's probably a lot of people dealing with other mental health things where it's been hard. You've been isolated. And it's just, imagine being isolated and on top of that, having things happen to you in your life that are really affecting you, but you don't tell anybody because people will say, well, that's YouTube suicide. You don't want to make that video. But I owe it to you guys to tell you why. but also it's making me feel a hell of a lot better getting it off my chest now i'm not going to expose who the person is i'm not and if you ask me i'm not going to tell you because that almost be just as bad as the person doing that to me i'm not going to tell you but the person is among us it's a Charles Wolf in sheep's clothing okay and it is what it is but um it's a crappy thing to do and if you watch this you know who you are and i and you're gonna have to live with that because this could have been a lot worse. Luckily, there was a threat made of suing me, but it didn't get to that point, but it could have. And if it did, they probably would have made an example out of me. And I might not have been, I'm trying, I'm getting married this year. I might not have been able to pay for that lawsuit. Like, it's just really, really a terrible thing to do. And it shows you that, hey, yeah, I made mistakes. I've been ultra competitive. I've learned from those mistakes. and actually some YouTube content creator relationships have been destroyed because of those mistakes. But I learn and I pick myself up and I move on. And that's what I'm going to do here. But I figured it'd be great for me to get the opportunity to number one, get it off my chest and explain to you why that coin ops content is missing. Now you may notice other content is missing as well. I decided to get rid of all my at games, legends, ultimate content too. That's a whole other story. And I probably talk about that at some point We have these Monday coffee talks Maybe we cover that you know episode but i hope that at least this brings a little bit of clarity i don want any drama from this i literally just want you guys to understand like i want to communicate to you what happened and and you know just so you know and believe me i would love to content now i'm i will say this I'm very, very freaked out to cover anything that has to do with ROMs or retro games that are not, you know, are kind of in that gray area now. So I am pivoting toward consoles and you're seeing all of this console material out there, but I legitimately am having a lot of fun. So if there's any positive of this, I'm having a good time. I'm having fun. And that's all that matters. That's why I started the channel in the first place. It was to share a passion and to have fun. yeah I'm not going to get 5,000 views on those videos not going to get 10,000 views on those videos who gives a shit I just want you to have fun and I want to create content for you guys so that's that's really all it is and I wanted to make sure that you guys understood uh sort of what was going on and I struggled with this for a long time and it's been really hard for me to keep it in but I feel a lot better now that I'm letting it out and if there's any lesson learned on your end is if you're in quarantine still or you're in isolation still or you're staying home because you don't feel like it's safe or you're scared to go outside and you're dealing with something yourself, don't keep it pent up because it's just not good for mental health in general. Get it off your chest. And I actually want to thank SmashJT because he does a lot of things. A lot of people don't love his videos when he's really bold and honest. But do we really live in a world now that you can't be honest, you can't defend yourself if someone wrongs you, that's wrong.
