Dennis, it's that time that we give people here at patreon.com slash the Pinball Show official club members. Oh, wow. What they've been wanting. They hunger. They yearn for the minds like the children. It's for the children. I think it's a Minecraft thing. I don't know. Do we want to start with the whole Team Pinball controversy or we want to talk about rumored? Let's do Team Pinball first. Okay. It's weirder. All right. So maybe give us a rundown. We know that Team Pinball had worked on stuff in the past. They're a group. I don't know how big of a group of pinball developers. They have assisted with other companies to create. They've made their own pinball machine, Mafia. It didn't do so hot. That was their big claim to, like, coming onto the scene. Yeah, clearly they've been doing stuff with Pedretti. I believe they've done stuff with Pinball Adventures. Okay, all right. And I think they've helped with, I think they helped with those kits, those Pedretti, like the Whirlwind. Oh, yes. Kits, I think. Don't quote me, but I think so. So they had worked with them, and then I guess their prime beef here was that they're not working with them anymore, and they feel like they owe them money or something? Give us a rundown as to what the deal is. It has to do with Big Bang Bar and a remake, apparently, they were working on. So they outed them and said, they got Big Bang Bar. Right, right. So anyway, they a little over a week ago, Team Pinball on their Facebook page posted this update, I guess you could say, regarding their issues with Pedretti. And it is massive. So I will not read the entire post. However, what I will read is going to be quotes from the post. I'm going to string it together in one burst. That GPT is good, isn't it? I did this manually. I literally just went through, pasted their post, and highlighted the elements that tell the story without the fluff. Perfect. In my opinion. So, here we go. I've got to get my voice back. For many years, Team Pinball has worked with Pedretti Gaming to provide hardware and software solutions for their Funhaus and Whirlwind 2.0 kits and for the Funhaus remake machine. Team Pinball has also been working on several upcoming titles, including a remake of Capcom's Big Bang Bar. After careful consideration, we believe we owe it to the pinball community to publicly explain what happened with the Big Bang Bar remake project from our perspective. In October 2024, Team Pinball purchased one of the original prototypes from Melvin Williams with the agreement and knowledge of Pedretti. In 2025, we shipped our prototype to Pedretti and traveled there personally to finalize the machine using version 2 PCBs. During this process, Pedretti updated several physical elements of the machine, including the cabinet and replacing the blank Whitewood playfield with the final printed version, which had also been designed in collaboration with Melvin Williams back in 2022. Afterward, we continued working remotely together until communication suddenly stopped. Initially, we believed this delay was related to Predator production. Later, we were informed that the Big Bang Bar remake would be postponed until 2022, 2026, which we accepted as additional time for refinement was not a problem for us. Following this, we requested the return of our prototype so we could continue polishing and finalizing the software ourselves to prepare the machine for production. Our intention was always to return the machine to Pedretti afterward, exactly as we had done during normal business cooperation. The answer regarding the return of our prototype was no. After another period of silence, we were ultimately informed that the prototype would not be returned because it was considered Pedretti's property. This directly contradicted the previous statement that they wanted some kind of contributions for the cost they spent on modification on our prototype in order to return it. Our estimated loss is approximately 90,000 euros. At this point, we do not intend to continue with expensive legal action. However, we believe the community deserves to know our experience and why we are no longer involved in this project, as well as other Pedretti branded projects. So that is the quote from and that is not even half of what is written. Like I cut out the parts where they explain why there was that whole I mentioned the part about contradicting the prior statement because Pedretti had said well we put in stuff into this Like there's monetary value. We put stuff onto the prototype sort of stuff, and they wanted some money or something, again, according to Team Pinball. Okay. I did not know there was a remake being worked on for Big Bang Bar. Nobody did. I mean people probably – This is phrased like it was known because why else do you owe the community anything? That's why I wonder for the people. Is this for the people? Is this really for the people? I think it's for throwing shade at majority. I think it is. I think that's what it is. Which is fair if they want to do that, but I think that's maybe what it's for. Right. Now that 90,000 euro, that's not the – What is – that's a lot of money. Yes, but it's not the game, right? What is it if it's not a game? Well, it's the purchase of the prototype, like what they had to pay Melvin, but it's also their cost of Team Pinball's development of the custom electronics, their work colorizing the DMD frames, their work on the PCB. So it's the R&D also. It's labor, okay. Yeah. Because they're saying they owe them $105,000. Right. But they're not going to litigate, which it's kind of like, I mean, we've had these conversations before, Zach, and it's like, at what point is it actually worth litigating? I wouldn't think this would be that if you, unless you talk to a lawyer and they said, you're not going to win this or the most you'll be able to get is the amount that you paid Melvin Williams for the prototype, not all your R&D. That's where I'm confused because they act as if they purchased the prototype. So it's their machine. If it was their machine, then I'm like, yeah, they deserve that machine back. But then they said it was going to be returned back to Petretti as the original agreement or something like that. It made it sound as if like, well, it's their game. We're going to give it back to them once we're done with it. When you're reading there, I was like, well, wait a minute. Right. My understanding is, all right, so here's how I believe it went from their write up. But Team Pinball bought a prototype unit. Okay. That's expensive. That is very expensive. Maybe they did some stuff to it ahead of time. Maybe not. Don't know. Don't care. Okay. Goes to Pedretti to develop the remake. As noted, Pedretti made a number of changes to it. When the game got delayed, Tim Pinball said, hey, can we have the prototype back so we can continue to work on the game? And then Pedretti ends up being like, no, you can't because we've made modifications to the prototype. Now, I don't know what they're – none of this talks about the agreement. Did the agreement say that the prototype is Pedretti's property? Is the issue that Team Pinball owns the bones? But Pedretti's like, that's not your Whitewood. That's our Whitewood. That's not your like you guys like we put in stuff into this as the contract manufacturer that we created as Pedretti. And how do you start that stuff out? Like that's not what Team Paul Tim Pumble didn't want that stuff out. They according to their write up, they wanted all that stuff in there so they could keep developing the game. But it doesn't sound like Team Pinball has the rights to that game. It sounds like Pedretti has the rights to that game. So it's not like they're going to do anything with it afterwards. I would venture to say that the only way that they're going to – they need to have some documentation showing what the terms of the agreement are regarding reimbursement for their work. If they don't have that, it's going to be very tough. But then again, they have to have some type of communication in written form of what the agreement was, even if it wasn't transactional like a contract. There's probably still enough to showcase to a court, to a judge of what the agreement was, how they were going to be reimbursed for their work. Now, a part that I did not read that was in Team Pinball's write-up that maybe I should have was the part where I said in the return of the prototype the answer was no. They had then said Team Pinball that this game has a complete shock to us, especially because Pedretti at this point stated that they had decided not to manufacture Big Bang Bar at all. We were later told the prototype could be returned and we paid for the cabinet swap, play field changes, and other modifications made during development. But then they said that they were told it was all Pejority's property, which maybe that's what the contract said and whoever they – I don't know. But to me it reminds me of Dutch Pinball and their contract manufacturer ARA or A when they tried to do the big Lebowski with them originally And they actually did litigate Dutch Pinball did and they lost And I remember at the time thinking when all that stuff was playing out over the years that it's to me from an outsider and not knowing Dutch law, it sounded to me like Dutch Pinball's case was very weak and that the contract manufacturer was probably in a good position. And ultimately, the contract manufacturer did win, which I mean, now Dutch always insisted the courts got it wrong, but of course they would. I'm wondering if Team Pinball here is trying to win something in the court of public opinion because they realize that they don't really have a legal case and that's why they're not going to pursue expensive litigation. But they're very angry because they have nothing to show for it now. And if Pedretti is not planning to move forward with Big Bang Bar, Team Pinball might have been able to find someone else to build it if they had the prototype back. But now so much of that work is flushed down the toilet. Yeah, but they don't have the rights to it. Either you have the rights or you don't. Again, there's so much here that I don't understand because I had not heard anything about anyone getting an arrangement with Planetary to do this or whatever. I would assume that Pedretti had that whether they had it or not. Because they've done it with Whirlwind and all that. Man, Tales of Arabian Nights. I mean, yeah, I would think they'd have that partnership. I don't know what to tell Team Pinball that because I am a very principled based person, too. Like if they do the right thing, I mean, if Pedretti owes them something for their work, they need to pay them for their work just to do the right thing. Even if somebody pissed me off, I'd still do the right thing. So that would suck if Pedretti is not going to do the right thing. But I don't know enough of the details to know whether the right thing is to reimburse him for something. And I'm not aware if Pedretti has said anything on this publicly. Yeah, but it sounds also to me, I could also see the situation where Team Pinball is not happy that Padretti's not moving forward with their work. That's what, from the eagle eye view here, it's almost as if, like, Padretti's like, you know, we're not looking to go in that direction anymore. It has not yielded the harvest that we had hoped. And, you know, sometimes you've got to plant a different fruit tree because the fruit's a little bitter. It's just not working. Just not working. I like when people pivot when they need to. The worst is just digging your heels in. If they don't like Team Pinball's work, yeah, got to cut them loose. You got to sell games. If Team Pinball wasn't helping with that, that's to go. Yeah, and I don't know if it's about Team Pinball or if it's about Big Big Bars, it's just not the right thing to remake. We know if they were attached to the things in the past, we know that those things are, in our opinion. And I could see Pedretti being like seeing this as like the angry boyfriend or girl, ex-boyfriend or girlfriend thing. Do you think it could be salvaged? Do you think if Team Pinball agreed to put a shit monster on it, Pedretti would come around? Oh, my God. I can only imagine. No. Do you think someone will mod the new Transformers so Optimus is pushing out his suey as he sits there in the back of that boy field on his throne? It doesn't transform. Vertical turd. He transforms food into suey. So stupid. So horrible. I would voice him. Hi-de-ho, there. You sure do smell like an Autobot flower. I, I, when I'm thinking of like Team Pinball signed up for Pinball Adventures, they're not painting the best picture resume for the future. And I don't like being mean, but it just, it's not, it's not you, it's me. Is I think the conversation they need to have. Look, you were great. You were at a time in my life where, you know, it worked. We're both growing into different people. And I just feel like our trajectory is not going to land at the same destination. It's not you. It me You not getting the prototype ring back I sorry It my grandma fucking Big Bang Bar prototype It's passed down from generation to generation. I'll be damned if you're going to get that. You're working for Pinball Adventures. Go get an Elements prototype. Big Bang Bar is mine and I'll fight for it. It's like a custody battle. That's what it's becoming. Now, Melvin, isn't that Melvin from Dutch? The Melvin who is now with American? I know. I'm like, how did Melvin get into this? Melvin, like the thing I was like. He's now with American Pinball. Melvin's involved with something that isn't J-pop. I was so excited. I just like that Melvin is a dabbler. I like that. I like dabblers. Nice job there, Melvin. Always kind of in the forefront of things. Yeah, because Melvin gobbles up stuff, snatches up stuff. So, of course, he was in on it. But I'd like to hear what Melvin's point of view is. Ooh. Very tricksy. Okay. Well, we'll see how it goes. That's what I got for Team Pinball. I don't take away anything super negative about either party there. Just kind of a dispute that we don't know enough of the details to know which way to side here. But I can also respect that they're not taking it to court, and I can relate to that. I've had plenty of situations, not plenty, probably two or three, maybe four situations in my pinball career where litigation should have happened and I should have just fought the fight because it's bullshit. But I don't because I ain't got no damn time for that shit. So I can appreciate them saying we're not going through all of that either. So, JJP. We get a banger among our midst. Yeah. Now, Chris at Kaneda's Pinball Podcast leaked a photo of Dr. Robotnik. Oh. On play field kind of thing, like a toy kind of thing. And it just coincidentally co-occurred with Transformers launching. Mysterious. The timing. I'm sure random. It's so weird how that stuff works. The good thing is that all rumors do point to Sonic the Hedgehog. I mean, especially. And people are excited. Their next game, whatever it may be, is pretty phenomenal. And it is going to be an absolute home run, unequivocally, based on anything that I know. Now, keep in mind, I've never met formally with JJP about anything that's coming up. I've not been shown anything for me. So I have no this is all based off of the informal people at J.J.P. that tell me. Right. And the stuff that I've seen. But yeah, that game is going to be a huge success yet again. J.J.P. is going to knock it out yet again. Chris is saying and I'm referencing him because he's the one that claims to have pictures of like the play field and stuff like that. So this is all based on whether or not his stuff is true. I don't know. Like it's very much a fan layout. I don't think he knows what a fan layout is. So again, 50-50 there. But it sounds like a spread shot layout, whether or not it has a different flip. Well, also it's going to be spread to some degree because geometry mandates it. That's how, yes. So it's tough to go off of that. Okay. But Sonic is, if it's Sonic, it's going to be, yeah, they're doing it right. And I'm happy to hear that that's going to be a damn great game because that theme very much interests me. What about you? Actually, not so much. Okay. You weren't a big Sonic guy? No, I didn't own any of the Sega consoles. So I've played a few of the Sonic games. So it's up my time, but I played more Mario and stuff. I was a Dreamcast owner. Oh. So you can appreciate my love for the Genesis. But oddly enough, your family couldn't afford the Sega CD or the – what was the – why am I – Saturn. I couldn't afford it. I still want the Saturn. Do I own it? Hold on. No, I don't. I have to look because I have like a retro consoles over there. Oh, yeah. It's a black Dreamcast that I got. I love the Dreamcast. One of my favorite systems. A very underrated console, but I was always a big Sega guy. But Sonic is one of the greatest video games of all time, in my opinion. And just knowing what I know, they're doing it. They're doing it very well. And it sounds like it's going to be really cool. So that's going to be fantastic. Chris is getting a lot of information lately. And he's been airing that. So I've been consuming a lot of like what's coming up through his stuff. He's he was talking. I was sad that he was talking a lot of shit about Back to the Future. I was bummed about that, about Dutch Pinball's upcoming Back to the Future. All the rumors have been pretty poor about like what they got licensing wise. And again, they're rumors. I don't know. But well, no. But when it's coming from him, like he's like the spokesperson for Dutch Pinball. I don't follow all that, so. Yeah, so when he's shitting on it and saying it's barren, it has nothing in it, I'm like, oh no, because this is like a dream theme of mine. I know. It's going to be hard for me not to buy this game. I want this game, but I don't want him to fuck it up. But if it has nothing nothing in it but a DeLorean it supposed to have a DeLorean that like mounted Mustang style or something Okay that cool but like The car barely in the movie It just I don want to be barren And who designing it Because there questions How the fuck did they get back to the future How did they do it This is where the whole hobby was like last year with like how is it that it's barrels getting dune and not stern? How is it that, you know, the Beetlejuice is held by Spooky and not stern? Like everyone started being like why are these perceived very big licenses being got by very small manufacturers? And it's like, well, there are not that many pinball companies and they're not all going to scoop up and lock everything down. I mean, the nostalgia bucket is brimming with stuff. I mean, you mentioned how True Lies should have had a pinball machine in the main episode. You're absolutely right. It should have. It should have, and it could still. It could still, and people would love it. I've mentioned Die Hard repeatedly. Die Hard should have always had a pinball machine, and it would still do great. It would do great. Lethal Weapon could have one. Again? It would do great. You think of Lethal Weapon again? Not three, based off the first one. Okay, okay, okay, okay. And then last thing, just for the Patreon people, have you seen Project Hail Mary yet? I have. A really good film. Really delightful film. I'd done the audiobook, so. Okay yeah I was like should I watch this before Because everybody like oh you got to read the book You don have to It good have to But I was like it good on its own But really well just all around one of those movies is like shit they kind of nailed everything It just really did really well. The only thing, I saw it actually at Texas when I went for TPF. Tony and I were like, Tony's like, I want to see this. I was like, let's go see it on one of the days when we're down there. Yeah. Because it's within walking distance to go to the mall where the theater was. And he loved the book. He had read it twice. And the only thing is – and it's obviously they had to make compromises for the movie. If you want to understand like what all they did, like more of the science side of it, the book will go into like what they did to keep the earth warm during this time period and all. Like they had to take – there's a whole subplot about how are we going to survive this long for him even to do the mission before the earth is too cold. I was a bit confused on timelines at points there because they didn't really hammer home length of time during the – they might have mentioned it once or something. I'm like, did I catch that? Was that right? They didn't really explain how they were able to get the ship there in the time that they did and all that. No, they had to get to the – you have your buddy film with your rock monster. Not everything can be The Martian and Interstellar. Okay. Hey, that's getting amazing. A lot of people like it more than Martian. And that's the same author. I liked it more than The Martian, but I respect The Martian. That was a great film The Martian is more my cup of tea for the humor in it because he talking to himself the whole time But it just it just a different feel I going to vow here to these our followers because they paid I will make sure that at some point Interstellar as a pinball machine is going to happen. It is it is going to happen. It just it has to. It's quickly becoming one of the greatest films of all time. It's being put on this pedestal everywhere, and at some point we will get an Interstellar. Maybe that's what I should start working on, Interstellar Pinball. Still mixed on whether it's strong enough for a pinball theme. I think there's so much more nostalgic stuff that would sell better, but I still think it could work. Just think of the world of Interstellar. If Stern did it, the robots wouldn't even move. When did we get the watch? I almost bought that watch. Oh, the Hamilton Murph? Yeah. Oh, Murph. I hate cathedral hands, so I can't do it. Almost bought the Murph just for – That's a very affordable watch. Yeah. Easily get it. But I like the one that he was wearing as well. Oh, yeah. I don't know what one that was. It's probably Hamilton also. Hamilton does most of the deals with movies. It was Hamilton. God, I want an Interstellar freaking pinball machine. It's going to happen. It'll happen. All right. I think that's it.
