What? Oh, there's the add ball I was talking about. And there's the subtractable. I dropped it on the ground. I'm Mike Dus and this is Pinball Shenanigans. Hi doggies. Oh [] I'm back. I was at Pinberg and uh like one of the biggest pinball tournaments in the world. It's a major circuit event. It was about maybe 40 hours of pinball over 4 days and uh my wrists are sore. My feet have recovered. Day one was a strikes tournament. That was 10 hours depending on how well you did. I somehow miraculously went 13 or 14 rounds without getting a single strike, which meant I placed first or second because third or fourth would get a strike. And uh made it all the way to the end, the final group, and took third. So I was very happy with that. Day two was 12 hours. Uh played mediocre and was relegated to the B division on day three, which was another 12 hours. And in between rounds, we're doing the Bash at the Berg pump and dump tournament. So, it was kind of like non-stop. And um I ended up making the B playoffs, which was the top 24 out of about 100 players. Uh Shny Boy made it. Shane Jackson made it. Shaunie didn't make it out of the first round. He took 24th or something. I made it to the semi-finals. I took seventh, which I'm very happy with. And Shane took second place and got some hardware and $1,600 for his efforts. Um, I didn't qualify in the Bash at the Berg. I didn't uh have qualifying available to me on day three cuz I was playing in the B playoffs. So, you know, what can you do? I did get paid 450 for the B division and 300 for the strikes tournament. So 750, no 4 5 6 7 1 2 Yeah, 750 US for my effort. So uh pretty pleased with that. Oh man, it is hot. I need the AC. Anyway, I'm back and I'm going to go head over to the Grazley garage. check out what Kevin has been up to. I know he finished his vampire. That is basically the primary reason I'm going over there to check that out, say hi, catch up, see what else he's been up to. In the meanwhile, I got to hit up the post office as usual. What did I sell? I sold something to a Chris Noah in um Texas. It is a Valley Aball used plastic set. And then I've got a broken PlayStation 2 I'm shipping to Quebec. Oh, and also I got this in the mail. This is two Twilight Zone clock boards reproduction with fancy coloranging LEDs. The original Twilight Zone clock boards, it was like two different boards mushed together with all these optos and the LEDs would get so hot it would screw up the mechanics of the clock. So, almost every clock on Twilight Zone is not working properly. This is new and improved LED cooler running and a single board instead of two boards. And that was shipped all the way from Australia. And because we got two, we got a slight discount saved on shipping. So all in, it was about $192 each Canadian. One for Kevin, one for me. And that will uh solve our clock issues, you know, hopefully forever. And get rid of my last credit dot on my Twilight Zone. I think it's going to be a bit of a pain in the butt to remove my clock because we've got a piano mod there. And in order to remove the piano, I need to remove the clock. In order to remove the clock, I need to remove the piano. So, I don't know how that's going to work. We'll see. I'll maybe make a whole video of um me installing this clockboard. So, I think that's about it. I'll hit up the post office and grab some lunch and then see you over at the Gracie Garage. Check this out. But I just cashed my US checks for US cash. And considering um the cost to get into Pinberg was 350 US and then my Bash at the Berg and Steel City Strikes cost me in around 200 US, that means I'm up like 200 bucks US, which pretty much covers my hotel and made my trip pretty inexpensive overall. The guy said you bought at a flea market or something or some sort of like shop like 20 some years ago. Oh wow. So it definitely has some age to it. This guy's actually pretty darn heavy, too. So Oh, his head bobbles. Y Oh my god. I'm going to break something. Okay, I'm just going to leave that alone before I I break something. He's got this corn cob pipe. Nice find, man. And uh the guy posted this for like 250 bucks. Got bombarded with messages. Uh ended the listing pretty much. And then I think he reposted it for what, like 500 bucks because he got so bombarded. Yeah. And uh you were lucky enough to strike a deal with him. So yeah, I did not pay 500 bucks. No, that's good. It was like what'd you pay? 350 or something like that. So that's pretty sweet that you got that cuz uh there was a lot of people interested. Here is the finished product of the Rocky and Bullwinkle the blue edition. It pretty much looks the same and plays the same as in the last video I did on this cuz last time it was like pretty much 95% done. Just needed some tweaks and I don't know what was done since the last time. Oh, backbox GI was out. Oh yeah. Was it a fuse? I can't remember. Dutch took care of it. Oh yeah, Dutch got it all sorted out. It's looking great. Is it plugged in? Should we give it a a quick little play? Oh, yeah. So, Dutch is now working on the uh Sea Hunt. Sea Hunt. Another uh Grazley Garage restoration in the books. Whoever buys this, you should add color DMD because it would be pretty awesome. You got to be up to like whatund you must be pushing near 150 uh restorations by now. I bet. 141. Oh, wow. I love how you keep track. Do you have a whole list? I do. That's awesome. Okay. Well, what number is this? Is this 141? Cuz this is the latest thing you completed. Uh, I counted the other rocking bowling. So, this is 140. 140. All right. Restoration number 140 here. Let's turn this guy on. Looks like a power cord over there. So, Oh, wait. No, it's on. Okay. You just got to hit the uh left left flipper. All right, there we go. So, I feel like you spent probably 3 weeks painting this thing painstakingly. Yeah, it was harder than doing a whole cabinet fil. Yeah, you could have decaled or stencled, you know, two machines in the same amount of time it took you to basically hand paint this thing. But it turned out amazing. I mean, this is uh it's a 1971 Bali Vampire. They only made 799 and I checked this morning and there are only 38 registered owners of this machine on pinside. So, pretty darn rare. How many actually still exist? You never know. But I can tell you that this is probably the nicest vampire in the universe. Unless you know of others, let me know. But I'm calling it. You had to painstakingly tape off every single piece of art and then cut it all out, peel it all off. Well, I had to stand down and fix the whole cabinet, which is the problem without destroying the artwork. Yeah, that's true. I looked at all the uh photos, the before and after, and the cabinet uh was actually in poor condition, and initially, you know, when I first saw it, it didn't look so bad, but looking at your photos, the thing was the lower cabinet wasn't terrible. The head was pretty bad. Yeah. So, yeah, patch patch up and repair the cabinet. and then tape off all of the art and then paint on all the gray. I'm not 100% sure what this had either. So, it didn't have a back door. Oh, okay. But when I was getting everything, I took a door cuz I But it didn't fit properly. Oh, yeah. But I So, I made a whole little frame to go in there to hold the door. Okay. So you basically made this door fit by adding a little bit of height to this this and then I don't know if you can see I actually held in and then brought this in so it didn't have a huge gap on both sides. Oh wow. Okay. Yeah, I see that. Yeah. So it's it's actually wood cut out and then blended in. So that was like an extra uh 8 hours of work right there for you. Yeah. This whole corner was completely missing that most of the pictures. So well it looked like uh the solution was good. worked out. And And I love that you went uh with the the black and white spackle. Was that uh the way it was originally? I It was all white, but I went with black and and white just in case they had to hide a little bit extra cuz it was so hard to do the cabinet, right? And I thought it looked a little bit better than just the white. Yeah, I like the black and white. But I mean, after painting the gray, you pretty much had to hand touch up all of the black, all of the green, all of the white after the fact, right? Yeah. The other side of the head was there was like basically no image left. But, uh, yeah, check out the photos if you want to see the full restoration before and after. Ontario Pinball and Arcade and Beyond, something like that. It's the longest name on Facebook, but check it out and you can see the full start to finish all the photos. I like the black on the trim on the inside. Yeah, turned out nice. You could have went gray there, but I like black better. I I It was I did leave it gray and then this is how it was originally. Oh, was it? So, I went and put it back and then a little bit of black here and the neck. Oh, yeah. But this is not really a neck. It kind of the whole cabinet comes up and then just the front face. And you addressed every single piece of metal that's either polished, painted or Yeah. I took the whole frame apart, polished it all, put it back, powder coated legs, powder coated coin door, powder coated shooter housing. Like mirror finish on some of these metals. It looks amazing. And uh you know, like I said, all the effort and energy you put into this, you must be proud cuz uh this is not your ordinary restoration. This is like uh double or triple the amount of work it seems like. Well, having said that, I think we should try a game. Let's do it. Ted Zale game with Dick White as the artist and It's the art that really makes this game so desirable. It seems like Oh, I forgot about the kickback. I was about to give up there. I mean, Ted Zale is an epic designer. He designed so many cool games and unique layouts and stuff, but it's the art on this one that takes it over the top. And uh this originally was going to be um for our buddy Greg Benz who's got a horror theme collection, but uh we kind of threw a Nightmare on Elm Street curveball at him and he wanted that, but he didn't have the room for both. So, it ended up going to our other buddy or will be possibly tonight to our buddy Daryl Pon and uh yeah, it's going to go to his collection. It'll be his first EM. It would have been Greg's Ben's first EM. But yeah, it's uh you can see like it's just very desirable game even people who don't have never owned EM. There's some bonus collect action there. Kickback. Now, I've done gameplay video on this before and talked about all the rules and stuff, but it's pretty packed for um for 1971. You got your uppost. You got this gate that opens and closes on the right. You have the kickback, which is, you know, not common for an EM from 1971. And what else? You got some various rollovers on the playfield. One on the bat wings. Got small rollovers. You got the thick rollovers. Oh, nice. Okay. So, uh, tournament strategy wise, what am I trying to do here? I got the bonus up to 10,000 right now. So, I think that's what I want to be doing. Post looks like it is up. So, that's safety for now. The gate is open. What happens if you go in the gate? 3,000 points. That's pretty big. But, I'm going to go for the bonus collect. Oh, yeah. That's right. You can't collect the bonus in the out hole. You can only collect it at that right orbit. So, yeah, 10,000 right there. Oh, and we got an extra bolt. So, can I shoot it into the gate on purpose? I mean, that doesn't seem likely. I kind of have to maybe get it up here and have it roll down this into the gate. But so I got to hit what? One or both of these rollovers to open the gate. You can see that on the bat's wings. This is ball five. Okay. Well, let's see if I can hit the roll over on the bat. Oh yeah. And an extra ball. Sweet. Now see if I can get that gate. Don't do it. Oh, I saved it to the drain. But one last ball here. Oh, wrong roll over. Wrong roll over again. And there's the tilt. That's pretty cool. Was that red before or was it always green? It's always green. I don't Yeah, it's playing great. Daryl's going to be one happy camper. And like I said, this may go to him tonight. May uh we may deliver it. And then uh you know, he's got a bunch of cool games, too. We're going to maybe check out his Evil Dead. That's one of his latest games. Does he have a Harry Potter as well? He didn't get Harry. No. Okay. Anyway, that is uh that's your Ballet Vampire. Pretty sweet machine and fun to have come through the Grazy garage. In the last video, I talked about uh the sign from Crystal Beach and I showed a photo. Here is the sign in real life. Well, video video life. And you can kind of see just how big it is. Like, it's taking me like 10 steps to cover the whole length of it. And uh pretty sweet sign. hand painted. And that will go up somewhere around here. You're gonna have to shuffle. Uh Taco Bell has to move. But Taco Bell is gonna go back a bit. Oh, that reminds me. Uh I still see an ad on Marketplace. Someone is like, "Hey, this sign, I see that it was posted and someone bought it. Whoever bought that, can you please reach out to me because I I would like it." And um yeah, they missed out on this sign. I guess they knew where it came from. I I forgot the history on it, but uh yeah, that ad is still up there, but I got it reposted, too. Oh, yeah. They want that sign, but I also want that sign. Yeah. And it looks pretty darn cool in the Gracie garage. And I don't think it's going anywhere anytime soon. So, sorry, whoever that is. It's staying at the Gracie Garage. Anyway, that's your update. And uh Popeye is also sticking around.
