## Transcript

Hey guys, welcome back. We are going to get right to it. So check this out. So there was one thing at CES that really threw me for a loop and it was this Silver Strike Bowling Golden Tee Cabinet that was on the floor. Now it didn't stay on the floor for very long. It was literally taken off, I think the next day it was gone. So there's like a whole bunch of mystery about it. Like why was it there? Why was it gone? Blah, blah, blah. But anyways, so the funny thing is, is I was actually building a Silver Strike bowling machine that I was going to put and integrate into one of my arcade cabinets here at my house. And then I saw this on the floor. So I was like, ooh, this is an opportunity for me to make an arcade one-up mod because I don't know whether this is even going to come out or not. And those of you that know Incredible Technologies, it takes a little bit to get this game running. There's no way to emulate it in software. You literally have to build it with their motherboard, their IO board, which contains a security chip, and then what's called a cabinet ID chip. All that stuff needs to be there or else the game will not function. So it's not a really easy game to build your own at home. But anyways, in order to do it, you need all those parts. So I started talking to John, the SVP over at Arcade1Up, and he kind of like glazed over it a little bit and didn't say a whole lot. So I have speculation that it was taken off the floor because maybe Incredible Technologies wasn't ready to ink this deal quite yet. But whatever it is, if this does come to fruition it's really cool so the whole point is i wanted to build this i'm like well shoot this is a great opportunity for me to make a mod how can i build and make this a reality so in this video i'm going to show you what i did and hopefully you guys enjoy it Thank you. okay guys here it is silver strike bowling so obviously I was super compelled to build this after seeing that on the floor at CES but this is an awesome arcade bowling game there's been so many bowling games over the years but this one stands out to me it's super fun and it's a game that anybody can enjoy if you've already played golden tea then you're really you know familiar with the physics it uses the you know trackball as a means to either hit a golf ball or you know throw your bowling ball. So it's pretty cool. And the other thing that's kind of interesting, this is an offline version of it. It's not connected to their network, but if you've been to any bars and seen this game, there's player cards that kind of keep track of historical gameplay and statistics. You can win prizes. So Incredible Technologies, the company that puts out this game, has a whole network around this. As a matter of fact, I think there's even versions of the original game still out in the wild, just like there's older versions of Golden Teeth still making money in bars, bowling alleys, and all sorts of things across America. In order to make this look the best I possibly could, I leveraged the Tulsa Arcades monitor mount. Now, there's a new one out there, but I did have an old one laying around, so I used it. It works really great to mount a 20-inch Dell monitor. I just figured with a game like this, I might as well have a bigger display to be able to enjoy it the best I can. The artwork was done by Escape Pod. They did a really good job on this. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty blown away by how well I did this. So the marquee itself actually just removed the old marquee graphing and put that on. So that was really simple and easy to do. It had an adhesive backing. And then I only put the Silver Strike on one side, and I left the other side with the regular Golden Tee logo since it's kind of a mashup. All right, what about controls? I went with an original Hap Trackball. There's a lot of reasons for that. Number one, they're awesome, and they work really good, and they're extremely durable, so it's going to last a long time. But the other thing is I just wanted it to replicate the arcade experience the best that I can if you're gonna go out Of your way to build something like this You might as well not skimp on the one of the most important pieces which is the trackball because that's how you interface with The game the majority of the time so if you're gonna go big and you're gonna do this do it with a half trackball You will not be sorry. It is a pretty awesome piece of Arcade hardware I should also mention that it plugs right into the board So there's really not a whole lot you have to do it's relatively plug-and-play So right now what you're looking at is actually Silver strike 2004 now I have no idea if arcade one-ups going to do this in what version they would use now This is silver strike X the one I showing you in my particular mod now that one is a little bit more graphically intense So I have no idea whether they going to try to pull this off with 2004 or the more current versions we don know but they do hold their ip very close to the chest so unfortunately i am not going to do a walkthrough of the pc and how it's built and all that let's just say that if you stay tuned to my weekly show called the one-up weekly with my buddy justin we may start to open up a discord or something like that where we can talk about this but i don't really want to get in hot water with ip there's nothing illegal going on here i just feel like it's opening up a whole can of worms as to how to build this. So hopefully you guys are okay with that. It's not really my style, but it's just how I'm going to have to do it for this one, guys. So should you have access to multiple Incredible Technologies boards, you can run them in parallel with each other. There's actually a switch you can purchase to run two of them at the same time. So imagine two PC builds running each game. So keep in mind, this would not be practical to do in an arcade one-up, but it can be done. And I'm showing that here. So it's two separate systems that can be switched back and forth. Now, again, like I said, cost-effective, no. So that's why I'm so blown away that if arcade one-up can actually pull this off and make this cost-effective, a lot of people would probably go out and run to get this. And who knows? Maybe they do Golden T Classic and Silver Strike so they don't do the newer versions. I'm not even sure, but it's one of those things. This is why I'm so pumped up for this, because I think a lot of people will go out and buy it, should this become an actual product that Arcade 1UP puts out in conjunction with incredible technologies. Hey guys, it's final thoughts time. So this whole mod got me thinking, how is Arcade 1UP going to pull this off? Because all of this stuff is, it's not specialized hardware, but it's all dependent on hardware, and there is no software emulation available for this. However, check behind me. This is an iPhone. There is an Incredible Technologies iPhone app for Golden Tee. Now, what's to say, oh, and there's also an Android app. Now, what's to say that they don't port Silver Strike to Android? They already have Golden Tee to Android. could they possibly build a front end and have the android versions of these games running on some sort of hardware provided by arcade one up that seems way more likely than them doing something based on the original hardware so it's not out of the realm of possibility i'm just trying to figure out how are they going to do it and john d did talk about android to some degree with the pinball machine and if you look at toy shock toy shock created their pinball machine based on Android too They have the Android version of I believe Pinball Arcade running So this is kind of in the realm of possibility So anyways as I think about this mod it was a lot of fun And if you haven played Silver Strike, go to your local bar, go to your local barcade, arcade, whatever, and play it. It's really fun and it'll give you a newfound appreciation for the game and why I was so excited to do this in the first place. Now, I know there's some of you guys are going to be a little bit bummed out that I didn't feature the PC and how to build it, but I got to stay in the safe zone with Incredible Technologies. They're kind of really particular about their IP, and I don't really want to get in trouble. So I'm sorry that this is a little bit out of my normal style where I show you how to do things. But anyways, it is what it is. But there were some couple things that I got to say. So for final thoughts, you've got to put the Haptrack ball. It gives you that arcade experience, and it's great if you decide to go down this path. Now, you can go to eBay and look up incredible technologies and try to find people selling the components you need, that's going to be your best route. And there's a couple of the blogs and things like that that can help you out. Now, I want to plug a couple of things real quick before we go. The one up weekly, it's this Sunday. It's going to be at five o'clock p.m. Should be Pacific Standard Time. And that show happens every single Sunday. So check that out. The other thing is we have merch. I have merch again. So I had merch before. I just never told anybody and no one even cared but now i have cool merch so we have merch for both the one up weekly and just retro ralph in general so check that out i'll have links in the description for that too every little bit helps if it's possible for you guys to buy something it does help me out on the channel and also you know i'm going to put those proceeds back into the channel for products and camera upgrades all sorts of things like that so it would be really appreciated but it's not something i'm expecting everyone to do but if you want to show your support that'd be awesome that's it for now guys but check this out put your comments below is this something you're interested in is my philosophy way off base like could it be based on android potentially and are they going to even do it they better do it and i'm going to be talking to john d and be like dude you got to do this people will think this is hot so anyways put your comments below like the video if you enjoyed it please please consider subscribing and then turn on notifications to be informed of future videos that's it for now guys we will see you on the next one so you
