P3 gets a lot of crap. But I kind of figured out, I kind of figured out the audience, who the audience is a P3 for, right? If you're a person who doesn't like to tinker, If you're a person who just wants to play pinball and not tinker, you want to pull it out of a box, set it up, maybe adjust a tilt. That's it. P3 is not for you. It's not for you. That's it. If you got like Tons of cash And you just want to buy games and play games and have fun There's nothing wrong with that Absolutely nothing wrong with that But I don't have a ton of cash I had enough to buy a P3 But I don't have a ton of cash I got two kids at home I got space for one game One game And that game is going to be a modular P3 system. Remember, I'm the guy who built, I built my virtual cab. I built my cab. So I'm obviously a tinkerer. In sports, we know this, the Jazz and Overlord Festival. I think I got one shot I couldn't get. It's not for you if you have lots of games and you just want to play. That's all you want to do is just play and you have lots of games and you're done. I got to hit it again? Oh, there we go. Unless you built a virtual pinball machine and you're into the mindset of tinkering. Right? Every time I want to play a new virtual pinball game, I have to go through. You have to download it. You have to install it. You have to make sure you have the backlash. You have to make sure you have the ROM or if it's a ROM or not. You have to load it up. You have to set your point of view if you do. You have to do this. That's like already seven steps that I'm doing to just play one virtual pinball game. So that's normal to me. If that's not normal to you, no. First pinball game, here's what I would do. If it was your first pinball game, shoot for something around between $4,500 and maybe $6,000. Buy a game that you love, that's on location, that's used. Don't buy a new one box. Don't buy a game off location. That's what I mean. Go to Pintai. Find somebody selling games. Buy a game. Even better, if you can rent a game, rent a game. Even better. If you can rent a game, rent a game. You know, so... I would not recommend a P... Not that I'm... No, I'm not trying to poop on P3, but... I wouldn't recommend it as a first game, only because... You're getting... I feel like you're getting too... You might be getting into stuff that you're not familiar with. That being said, it's an incredibly... First was Silver Slugger and loved it. I like the tweaking. Yeah. That being said, it's incredibly easy to wrap your head around what they did with P3. Shit. It's incredibly easy to wrap your head around P3 if you just give it a moment. It's not hard. For a super beginner, what era type of game would you recommend first? like I love EMs but they require a lot of maintenance and upkeep hey what's up Rhyme I would say I would say for a beginner I would I would say a DMD era I would say a DMD era. You know, like a Williams DMD. Something with a dot matrix display. Actual dot matrix display. Unless you absolutely love EMs. A working EM is going to work, generally speaking. But you're not going to fix it. Because those are like magic. But the later you get, like 90s era DMD games, you know, they get more advanced in terms of technology. so they're not so far away from what we know and you can find people who can help you fix it and i think a dmd is going to last a little longer in home as far as rule sets um you're not gonna you're not gonna have three rules that you finish in two nights and you're done um something without an insane toy though yeah so like i one of my first games i rented was Junkyard. I rented No Good Gophers. I rented Star Trek. The Stern Star Trek. Absolutely wonderful freaking game. I rented Guardians. The Pro. These are absolutely... I know those are Spike 2s, but... Well, I know Guardians is Spike 2, but the other ones are not. That being said, it's just like, you know... Yeah, I had the feeling like everything William CMD will be great so especially with the remakes of the FM yeah arcade one up we're talking about we're talking about physical pinball machines though right not virtual pinball machines don't get a godly You can get it, whatever Squalito says get a Venom Get a Venom Pro Don't get a Venom Premium Only because If you're trying to stay away from fixing stuff There's not a lot That can go wrong in a Venom Pro There's a little more that can go wrong in a Venom Premium Get a No Fear and save yourself 7k No Fear is fun It's a Stargate on Pinside. I saw Lowe's playing a Lowe's Monster Bash, I forgot how fun that game is. I'm looking down the line I would tell you to get an NBA fast break but you're not going to find it Sopranos would be yeah Sopranos if you have kids turn off the profanity mode but Sopranos would be fun yeah semi-recent yeah semi-recent start Walking Dead Walking Dead is fun it's creepy if you have kids It's just ugly and creepy, but the rule set is amazing. Yeah, we got a fast break in mint condition right here. It's pretty tight. Iron Man 6, brutal. Unless you're looking to get amazingly good at pinball, and you have a lot of patience for brutality.
