## Analysis

Jack Danger has shared preliminary playfield layout images and video for his next pinball game for Stern, which appears to be Tank Girl—a British post-apocalyptic comic/1995 film IP. The game is part of a documented design process where Danger creates a fully licensed game on his own schedule while documenting the professional development workflow. The playfield appears densely packed with features and dual flippers in a separate upper area.

Happy Friday everyone! What a great week it's been for pinball and arcade news. Yesterday I wrote a banger of an article (if I do say so myself, I always look at it in terms of how excited I would be to see it if I hadn't written it lol) that Stern Pinball's next Remastered game will be KISS ( Stern Pinball's Remastered Game for 2026 Will Be...).

Today we got a look at the preliminary layout of the layout for Jack Danger's next pinball machine for Stern. As a refresher...back in November during a presentation at the Dutch Pinball Open, Stern Pinball's Gary Stern and Jack Danger announced that Jack is not completely done designing machines. He is going to create a complete, licensed game on his own schedule, showing how a whole game is made professionally, working with various people at Stern Pinball to design, build and code a game. Once the process is done, he will have created a fully playable pin with code, art, etc... It is unclear if Stern will mass produce the game, but it seems as though they will.

Fast-forward to today. This morning Jack shared a picture and a video of his preliminary layout for that game!

In a comment with the picture that he shared on Facebook, Jack said"

"Enough stalling (way more stumbling blocks than anticipated), so let’s just start building and figure it out later.

First episode filming begins shortly.

Excited to show you all the different ways designers games are approached so you can find what works best for you!"

The video shows the basic shots in the game without any of the mechs working and without the lower playfield.

Wow, this game looks pretty packed. At first glance, the layout kind of reminds me of a game that I used to own, Williams' 1987 game "Big Guns." Obviously there's differences, but the double flippers in the separate area up top are similar.

As far as what the them of the game will be, last week Jack Danger floated the "Tank Girl" theme out there. At the time, I thought that it was more hypothetical, but based on the tank in the newly shared playfield images, maybe that is going to be the theme. For those of you who aren't familiar with it, Tank Girl is a British post-apocalyptic science fiction comic that debuted in 1988. It went on to become a movie in 1995. I personally have never read the comics or seen the film, but I will now if it's going to become an actual game :).

It's coming. My guess has been teaser the third week of January and reveal the last week, but it's possible that it gets pushed into February.

That playfield looks awesome so far! Tank girl would be such a cool title. Doing a 90’s film pin would hit extra special for a lot of us. If you haven’t watched it you should.
