Hey guys, welcome back! Alright, check it out. So, today we're going to talk a bit about OutRun, but first, a special thanks to Fossil Arcade for allowing me to use this clip. Okay, so, Arcade 1-Up came up with OutRun and it's already sold out, which is crazy. But I want to talk about it for a minute because my original experience with the cabinet was this one. It was OutRun Deluxe. And OutRun Deluxe was crazy. It was such an immersive experience. I mean, the thing cost, in my arcade back in the day, Dream Machine, in Lincoln, Rhode Island, it cost me a dollar to play this thing, right? So you played it sparingly, but man, it was such a cool experience. It reminded me of Afterburner, right? Another Sega cabinet. They did an awesome job with that one. The idea that there was other elements going on that sort of interacted with what was going on on the screen to make it that much more interesting to play. So I'm afraid, I'm a little concerned that my nostalgia goggles were on so hard when this thing came up for sale from Arcade 1-Up that I decided to buy it. Now, I'm not discounting that the Arcade 1-Up experience is going to be a good one. I think it will, but it's going to be very different. So let's take a look at the arcade one-up teaser trailer. We'll deconstruct what we can, but I am a little worried, but I bought it anyway. And I'm sorry for those of you that might have missed out on it. They are going to do a rerun of it of 2021, but I'm kind of excited at the same time to get this experience for the first time and share it with you once it does hit my doorstep. Okay, here it is. All right, so this is the trailer that they showed. So hold on a second. Let's back up right there already. Alright, so we see a picture of the steering wheel, but it's only for like two seconds. Can't even pause it, I don't think. Let's see. Let's try one more time. Alright, so this is a picture of the steering wheel. Clearly that's a mock-up, so it's not like the actual picture of the steering wheel. In actuality I think on the website even it not really the picture it sort of an artist picture But you can see they got the steering wheel it kind of mounted sort of like the star wars and it got the shifter on the right hand side and on off switch is probably a volume right next to that so i think there's like a music button over there so let's keep going all right so in this part they're showing you the pedal system so i'm trying to figure this out because i built the racing cabinet myself and i integrated the pedals into the riser but it looks like what they did is they in this is actually showing the stand-up one and they kind of notched it into the riser so it looks like it's it might hook into something so there is a stand-up and a sit-down except the stand-up's not going to be available till next year so let's keep going here all right they're just showing the marquee again all these are artist pictures it's almost like it's going to be a surprise when we actually see it all right so here they're showing both the stand-up and the sit-down but they're not really showing where the sit down pedals are located and i have a picture that john d sent me of the pedals and i posted it on twitter still it doesn't really do that much it just tells me a little bit of how it how it's located but i still not really sure how it's hooked in so anyways i guess we'll have to figure that out when we get it but just know they're they're you know if you didn't get this this time and you rather have a stand-up then it's okay because the stand-up won't come out till next year so you're kind of in an okay position there let's keep going all right so this is the game selection You're going to have OutRun, Turbo OutRun, OutRunners, and Power Drift. So it's a pretty decent collection of games. And then John D. told me there's going to be some Easter egg or something on the cabinet that we don't know about. So I have no idea what that is. I couldn't get it out of them. So we'll have to figure that out. These things are going to be shipping out soon. So whoever gets it first will maybe discover the Easter egg. All right, let's keep going through the video here. so this is just showing on the left it does show what it looks like with the pedals there but again it not like the best picture ever so even zooming in i can tell a whole lot it just gets really pixely and granulated and then the bench is basically a reuse of the star wars bench effectively there's no back on it or anything like the official deluxe version and then if you look on the actual um you know underneath the monitor there there's like a ledge that ledge would be sort of the course map which is on the original cabinet so it kind of makes sense let's keep going here now um the other thing that to note is code mystics is actually doing the emulation on this game so i think we should be in for a good surprise there as they're really good at everything they do for arcade one up so my only last bit of concern is this picture posted by john d so this is actually mike over at arcade one up i swear the guy has zero online presence you can't find anything about him ever which is weird because i met him at um cs and then e3 the year before that he's a really nice guy but look at how close his knees are to the control panel that does concern me but again until we actually play it we're not going to know but yeah it's just something to bring up when he posted it i was like oh man like but he is a pretty big dude but i mean think about it most of us are going to be you know middle-aged men so we're not going to be like small guys so i'm assuming all of getting this except for your kids who are playing it they're probably the only ones in shape so yeah so we'll have to see i actually think the stand-up one is probably gonna be the one i really am gonna want but hey i already bought this one so i gotta live with it and we'll see we'll see how it goes if for some reason i don't like it i'll end up selling it getting the stand-up one all right guys it's final thoughts time so what do i think about this outrun cabinet i'm not really sure yet i'm kind of in this weird spot where i not quite you know i kind of i kind of might have a little bit of buyer remorse before it even comes but I don know i hopeful that it going to be a good experience but if it isn i think it going to be because i would prefer the upright form factor i don know i think sitting down i'm not going to be digging that i know i'm the weird guy that likes upright racers i actually just sold one of my official stand-up it was a uh cruising exotica for the stand-up version so i don't know go figure i like stand-up racers i know i'm crazy most people don't don't like stand-up razor so anyways the other thing i'm curious about is could we take a star wars riser and put the outrun you know take the outrun take the bench out of the way and put it on a star wars riser because i have a feeling the riser on the outrun is the same size riser as the star wars i could be wrong but i'm thinking that's what it is so when i get it i'm gonna play around with it i won't fully mod it or anything but i'm gonna see if i can sort of convert it into a stand-up because i know i'm gonna want the stand-up i know what i just know me i'm weird i i jumped the gun on this one so anyways you know tell me what you guys think about the OutRun cabinet is it something you want to get are you okay that you missed out on it because you want to get the the upper eight one anyway or are you just gonna sort of skip this one all together and wait for you know whatever the version two one is because everyone I know what everyone wants everyone wants I don't blame you I want Daytona 2 so anyways guys that's it for this one if you enjoyed the video give us a thumbs up consider subscribing the channel turn on on notifications to get informed of other videos like this one and that's it guys we will see you on the next one
