## Analysis

Don't Panic Flip streams Rush (Stern) LE while testing a new 'stream leveling' system that dynamically modifies the broadcast based on viewer engagement and XP accumulation. The host discusses technical implementation details, troubleshoots bugs in real-time, and briefly mentions acquiring a Pulp Fiction pinball machine. A significant tangent covers Jersey Jack Pinball disabling Scorbit functionality on existing machines.

### Key Claims

- [MEDIUM] Jersey Jack Pinball has disabled Scorbit functionality on all existing JJP machines — _Host noting that Scorbit found out about the decision during Flip It Out stream; Jay from Scorbit seemed 'flabbergasted' by the announcement_
- [HIGH] Host has a Pulp Fiction pinball machine on order, shipping date unknown — _Host states: 'I do have a Pulp Fiction on the way Whenever shipping happens I don't know that we actually know when shipping will happen'_
- [HIGH] The stream leveling system uses C-sharp scripts running through StreamerBot — _Host: 'I've got a whole bunch of C-sharp scripts running right now' and mentions logging feature from StreamerBot_
- [HIGH] Stream layout has been updated approximately every 3-6 months over the past 5 years — _Host: 'I update, I want to say, initially it was Papa Duke often, but I've gone through and updated the layout of the stream probably once every three to six months'_
- [HIGH] Goal for stream leveling system is eventually 11 levels (expanded from initial 10-level plan) — _Marty suggested 11 levels; host agreed it should 'definitely go to 11' to allow level 11 to 'get silly'_

## Transcript

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. We'll see you next time. We'll be right back. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Fear not, for you are found. You are home and there is no going back. No one leaves this place. But what is this place? The answer is... The Pinball Network. Surrounded by cosmic gateways, TPN is on the edge of the known and unknown. It is the collection point for all lost and unloved things. Like you. But here on TPN, you are significant. You are valuable. Here, you are loved. Where once you were nothing, now you are something. You are the property of the Pinball Network. Congratulations! You will meet the Pinball Network. Seconds. Prepare yourself. Prepare yourself. You are now meeting the Pinball Network. Good evening everyone. Hopefully my sound is coming through and it looks okay. There should be, I think, at least a little bit of background noise from Rush. Well, man, Arthur, if Dragon Snivy tries, if Devon crates, thank you so much for that raid. Vinnie Robert Blakeman, welcome. Game Flip Central, Marty. Good evening. I sound like a robot. Hold on. One sec. Why is there voice modulation? Robots report to the dance floor. No. Give me a sec. How's that? Is that any better? Droid droids. Death flag mode, I can't wait to use my 125,000 points on your stream. It's still modulated. Well that's new. There shouldn't be... And has it changed? I think this wasn't even what the text room was supposed to be at, yeah, I guess. Hold on. Keep it off. you No audio at this point? Oh, the audio should be coming through. Okay, we got it. Can we change XP to best car? I kind of like that, actually. Okay, yeah. I've had nothing but issues with the Roadcaster Pro. I don't know. Okay, awesome. TK, thank you. Thank you, everybody. He has spoken. So we're trying out some fun stuff today. I've been talking with Manu. Jedi helped quite a bit. Surreal. Yeah, it was literally just turning on and off the Roadcaster Pro. I get a new Roadcaster Pro today. This one just in general is kind of buggy. Devin Crates, can we have a Redeem to turn that effect on? Excellent question. Maybe at some point in the near future, yes. But what we're trying right now is the concept of leveling up the stream. So right now, as you can see right there, the stream is at level two. And you can see over there, there's an XP counter as well. And as we do things like chat or their redemptions or people do stuff, we end up leveling up. And the leveling up changes a lot of the stream. So, for example, we're at... Hey, Lynn in Denver, welcome. Game Club Center. The background is now interactive I kind of forgot to aim the camera at something but okay we just hit level uh sorry level three oh it muted me oh the alert i didn add the microphone so you saw watch three consecutive streams this month and sparked a watch streak mpt3k just sparked a watch streak i can't wait until i can make that xp so evidently we're gonna we're gonna hit, I think, level... Wait. We still have Mike. Yeah, okay, good. The Mike is still there. There was just... Is stream leveling open source? You can share it with... Vinny Blank, I will absolutely share this with the community. It is not open source. It's just an idea I had about generating XP. And like I said, a lot of work figuring out what I feel like a lot of Manu and Surreal have done with the Rift Theater. and just, I called it a shower thought one day, it does use StreamerBot. And yeah, Game Club Central, use it up, man. It is just the concept of the stream changing in response to user and people engagement. And I still have yet to figure out what the numbers should be. So think of it like when you release a new game and there's fighting and different characters and there's kind of like, you gotta level it all. you gotta figure out what the balancing act is between that. Man, there's so many different triggers that add XP. So I was hoping to go through level one through four very quickly today just to kind of show some of those differences, but everything can trigger it from, once again, stream redemptions to bits, to subs, to gifted subs, to raids. like right away we got a raid and i think we increased 250 points and just for for giggles i i set it to um oh i'm so triggered game game club um wait what happened here i like turtles i feel like i missed something uh yay oh and it does mute me i forget so there we go like right away i knew we were gonna break it at some point tonight and uh oh yeah break Break Surreal stuff. Do all the things. I think I need to identify what those XP levels are, and I'm going to do that with a progress bar. And I know that Surreal has a progress bar filter that we'll be adding later. But you can see, once again, if I go to chat, now we're, by the way, in an upgraded version of the chat where you actually get to see the chat over here. And there's a little bit more, once again, engagement with the audience, because you'll see down here at some point we actually get event information. And so many subs. I need to bring out the GIMP. Yes, calculate pie. I like it. There's supposed to be events. It's weird. They go on a timer and then they're there and then they're not there. They're supposed to be there. I don't know. But I also made it so that way chats add 2 XP every time chat happens. and then there's actual like back Charleston oh that's right you guys I do actually have commands that if you guess them it could potentially break the stream I just thought about that and mods I have modded way too many of you guys mods have access to them oh that's hilarious the alerts are on here we're on three the events are not showing up that's kind of interesting exclamation point break stream let's see i did also have like first time chat music or sound was supposed to play as along with custom shout outs but as the people here who were nice dk um as the people who are in here initially figured out uh there was if you don't have a folder, a destination folder right now, it provided an actual error message back. So we're still figuring things out, so I had to disable the sounds and the custom shoutouts, and I will go back through and re-enable that, but while it's buggy, I didn't want to do that. My script makes the full... Exactly! Yeah, and that's huge. Game Club Central, I've got a whole bunch of C-sharp scripts running right now. I just... All about this first time through as we were testing it, it was about like pulling back because initially i had 10 levels and then building out all of the different upgrades that happened between level one and level two two to level three three to level four like it uh kirk hobbs just thought i would introduce myself long time listener first time caller uh yes game club central i do think the goal was to go to 10 but now that you say it it should definitely go to 11 and 11 should get silly um so we are one level away from max and we'll go back and add more levels is is it's just making sure that we didn't uh sacrifice never doing it for the sake of of trying to get it all in there there's so much more i want to do but once again it's just kind of the the the concept right now of of leveling that i was trying to get a really good feel for. So we're here. We have Rush going right now, and we're at 1,378 XP. So we hit, think of it as like Pokemon. We hit Pokemon Final Form once we hit 2,000 XP. We'll see what happens. Why am I more excited about this than my own stuff, George? Manu, I love it. Thank you. And thank you for being such a wonderful sounding board. um we'll we'll see we'll see how this goes uh oh there we go devon crates just wasted 10 000 uh streamer points to increment us uh by 500 so stream redemption we are now 160 xp away from uh from leveling up devon crates there we go thank you oh game club central also redeemed 100 uh 200 actually five minutes ago six minutes ago yeah we're we're we're very quickly baking our way there and initially it's fun i actually had it set i had i had more levels hey yeah happy pie day everyone i know we're so we're so cool game club central but everyone by the way all my all my hats off thank you thank you everyone for for being all so helpful today and testing this out i just want to uh devon crates hey i already have two sheet t-shirts what else do i need What if you get to 9,999 XP? Then the number goes off the page right now, Manu. I'm assuming we're never going to hit that level of XP. In a test stream, the biggest stream I've had in a while with multiple massive raids, with the numbering system we have right now, we're at 1,902. We're 88 away from hitting our final form for tonight. yeah that's the question will you all be able to roll it at some point i'm sure if if anyone what's funny is i feel like as we get close i'll just have to shut down the stream wow joe picasso three ads back to back we know who's getting paid fake i have never triggered manually an ad ever so switching back over here we're at chat we're at 19 no actually i'm going to keep it here because the fun thing is the fact that like when we when we actually cross to uh and i feel like i'm not i need to set these sounds up so that way i get the feedback because i don't i don't have any of the feedback right now also i never i never dialed in this there it is and then come on focus on the on the time machine there we go don't cross the streams Oh, that's right. There's no microphone. But we saw 22. Just got us over. We have now hit our final four. It's an animated background. You got all the love here in the center. What's the... I don't know. I didn't realize. Sorry about that. Sorry. I did not know that there was sound associated with that graphic. All right. It should be gone. Once again, y'all are really helping me figure this out. Snivy. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you. I'm going to also mute that so that way it doesn't come back on. Your elevator music was. I'm so sorry, everyone. Yep. So there we go. We have hit level four, and now you get the level four chat. Hmm. Yeah, for whatever reason, some things in level four are not... Okay, no, no, no. three is active i guess i i thought i put everything on the right scenes hold on hold on minor bit of of tech stream here while i go figure out why a couple things aren't working oh you know what yeah hold on one sec You said it's like a guide to a little bit of history Pass that animated part dinosaurs loop nope Restart playback Nothing when playback ends and close the file Huh. Huh. well the events are there i think i was just missing it i know hit level four deafened viewers guys yeah that is yeah that's a that's a nice catch won't happen again we did mute that but what's weird is every time we jump back and forth i set it up so that way that little that little heart would show up. Okay. But there we go. For this stream and the little bit longer that we're on, we are at max form right now. We have all the cameras added. We have an animated background. We actually have, if this happens really early in the stream, we get access to different things. Like I'm going to show you, we get a different intro video. retro game gal so we're uh i just wanted to test out a few things uh and i wasn't allowed to go work out today uh i have to wait one more day before i can work out so i decided i i would i would jump on early and test this out so i'm gonna really quick we have a few different videos the the uh the level four intro video have you been inundated with ads and questions related to tpn's now famous home there we go hey there the heart shows up where the heart is supposed to constantly come back and uh and and remind everybody about all the love for hitting for hitting for joe picasso no idea why you were getting hit by so many ads. That's awful. But yeah, so if it happens early enough, there's a different start screen or a different start sequence. And the other thing that happens is once we hit level four, you get access to the retro logo as opposed to what I think of as the cool logo. There's just the old logo. But let's throw a quick game on. By quick game, I mean let's reset the game that evidently has been just sitting there since last night as I was testing stuff out and working on this. You know, what's fun is, I mean, we could reinitiate and y'all could see what happens and get to see all the different scene stuff again. I have a command. What sucks is that if I play the command now, all the moderators have access to it, so they would be able to use the command at will and just reset the level and XP and form. Oh, you know what? Actually, what we could do, just for funsies here, I could do that, and then I could walk us through the different levels, which would actually be kind of fun. And it tests everything out. There we go. That's chaos. Let's do dude. We need a cocaine bear pinball. Joe Picasso, I'm actually, I'm totally fine with cocaine bear pinball. So give me a second. I'm going to reset and then we'll step through the different levels again. Okay. Don't panic flips channels. Don't panic flips channels. Stream level has been initialize. All right, there we go. So we're back to level one. Level one is a little on the boring side. I'll take you guys through. Chat, pretty straightforward, right? And all right, now I'm gonna redeem some XP. We... I think I might get stuck in a loop right now. All right, so there's a loop in the code. I don't know how we didn't trigger it previously. Oh, wait a second. No, it was just the turning off. That turning off happened about halfway through. I don't know. We're doing things. Also, evidently, we skipped directly to level three. I don't know the reset there. I just went through this like 15 times and did not run into another loop. There's a timing loop that has to do with actually triggering and setting whether or not there's a level up expectation. So it's a bit of a race condition. But I think we made it through that. And then let me do this one more time. So what are we at? We're at 1,004. Now we're at 1,500. One last one. Okay. So you get the heart, you get the animated background, and you get the retro logo right now. Race condition. Those words haunted me for months in the theater. Yeah. Thankfully, a lot of this is actually C-sharp code, so it's pretty easy to step through. And on top of that, there's a logging feature. And then right over here, I can see that I actually have the log up constantly just projecting what the log is at me. So I get to watch the log live from StreamerBot. TK 24601! Thanks for all the fish. So yeah, let's get a quick game in. Oh, interesting. You know, I disabled, now that I thought about it, I immediately at the beginning of the stream, when we had the, um, the weird voice modulation, I assumed that that was the stream, uh, the noise suppression technology. And that wasn't the case, right? It wasn't the, it wasn't the noise suppression stuff. It was, um, uh, it was the fact that the road caster was in some sort of a bad state. So let's do, let's do this. There we go. Oh, the music is actually really low on this. That's fine. We can just talk. No pictures, please. Combo. Up and around. up and around and it looks like we've got a multiball what I kind of want to do is finish out the limelight or we're gonna ricochet right in hey top row pinball totally go ahead and sing hold on what I should be able to do I think this this does ball save Yeah, we need the music, but we're going to do maybe something like this. There we go. you you you you you you What are we at? 85%? Six million! Six million! It so sucks that there was a loop there. I've got to figure that one out. How much longer have we got? We've got probably about ten minutes here, and then I gotta call this because we've got plans for the evening. Thank you everybody for helping, by the way. Troubleshoots into this. Let's hope we don't have another ridiculously epic game. There's one. So you gotta hit the left and right orbit here. Wow. TK, Pulp Fiction or Godfather? What's your pick? I did pick Pulp Fiction I got in on Pulp Fiction early So assuming I can make all the funds happen I do have a Pulp Fiction LE on the way Whenever shipping happens I don't know that we actually know when shipping will happen All right, we're going to go there. We're back in Tom Sawyer. And boom. TK, I agree. And Pulp Fiction looks like a throwback. Breath of Fresh Air. That's going right down the middle. Godfather is losing score, but is a factory feature and is a JJP anyway. Yeah. I wish I knew more, honestly, about what happened with Scorbit. Because that is something. And it also seemed like Scorbit found out at the same time, sorry, during that flip it out stream. Hey, Bumper Nugget. Thank you so much for that raid earlier and welcome. Bumper Nugget was streaming what was it Godzilla Pin Slash qualifiers earlier today from Pinball Jones in downtown Fort Collins awesome location and oh and Lynn also confirming my understanding is Jay wishes he knew more about what went down based on the fact the FAQ that Jay from Scorbit put out they seemed just as flabbergasted by JJP's announcement as everyone else. I've been running scorebit on the VPN for a handful of tables. I love it there. Yeah, scorebit's doing some really cool things with the community. So it's disappointing for sure to hear that they're no longer going to be used. And essentially, and bricked is not the right word, but JJP disabling functionality on all existing JJPs. Let's see here. I wish there was movie clips from Pulp Fiction and the Machine, but the throwback really was complete, straight out of the 80s. Kirk Hobbs, I'm in complete agreement. I love it. It feels like an appropriate throwback. Let's see. Oh, Bumper Nugget had to eat something, getting ready to grind it out some more. Well, in that case, Bumper Nugget, let me know when you're back on. We'll raid you back. We'll send all these beautiful individuals back to you. Because I got to get going. I got a hot date at 8 p.m. this evening. So what my understanding is, is that Jay had some ideas about doing a Scorbitron thing for JJP stuff, assuming they don't block it entirely in the software. Yeah, Manu, we've got amazing test data right now from all of this. I've got several updates to make. I've got a couple of bugs to find out. and also we hit that 2,000 very quickly. I may end up having to adjust the size of the XP counter to go up to 99,000 and maybe allow that to spin up a bit more. That's the other fun thing I got to figure out how to do. I want to animate the movement. So if you go from, let's say, 2,000 to 2,500, it does a quick count that gets you up to 2,500. So I got to figure out how to do that. I have a laundry list of items to make the stream leveling a little bit better. The biggest one, of course, allowing for more levels and really dialing in the differences between each of the scenes and what the stream is getting back as a form of something positive they're getting back for a higher level of engagement. So, everyone, I kind of want to say, TK, don't forget your towel. Yes. There should definitely be some more quotes. Oh, that's interesting. So more like thematic chats, I'm guessing, as we get. You know, I had this other fun idea that I may do, which would be to step through the progression of, there's a math transform option in Sammy that I'm sure you can get in StreamerBot. Okay. And, sorry, where was I going with that? Oh, I was thinking more along the lines of a stream progression. Like, you would actually, I would go back and mine all of the different layouts I've had over the past five years, and each level would be, like, you start off at what I first created, and then you hit level two, level three, level four, and you continue making it. Because I update, I want to say, initially it was pretty often, but I've gone through and updated the layout of the stream probably once every three to six months. So there's a lot of different fun levels, and I still have all of those graphics. I think that's ultimately where this is likely going to go. Right now, it's just adding new functionality and cleaning things up. It's a really good example, and it's subtle. Nobody's ever going to notice it, but the scenes right now have a black outline. and they don't exist in level two. So it just, it like helps make the stream look, in my opinion, a little bit cleaner. So we go from three to four, it's subtle. And there's like another six or seven subtle differences between them. But overall the aesthetic is, I don't know, just nicer at this. But this would be the full version we'd get to. And let's see, maybe have a few lower levels for point redeems. Yes, absolutely. So we start at level one and right now we go to level four. The goal would be 10, although Marty had a great idea of going to 11. So assume there will be 11 levels at some point. And the first few levels would definitely be redeemable, would be very quickly or very easy to redeem. We actually went through a few levels very, very quickly there. so uh everyone thank you so much for hanging out uh lots of test data back let's go let's go find someone to raid hopefully uh bumper nuggets back online we'll see y'all uh maybe i have to mute no idea what i just did there mute mute mute there we go have you been inundated with ads and questions related to tpn's now famous homemade pinball pudding line of puddings questions like tpn's pinball pudding is so good it must be illegal right what the f**k is pinball pudding how can a collection of content creators also be a pudding That makes no sense And we hear you You want to know what makes TPN so special? The answer is in TPN's secret ingredient Simply, proof Other puddings may say they have it too But watch as they're unable to back those statements up Well, I'm not a crook Do we have evidence of that? It might be a tumor It's not a tumor Evidence? I'm gonna give you up I'm gonna let you down Evidence. Richard, do I have a mark on my face? Right here. Not here or here so much, but right here. That's evidence. We built this city on rock and roll. Again, request for more evidence. You can't handle the truth. Do we have evidence of that? Nobody makes me bleed my own blood. Nobody. Evidence. Do we have evidence of that? Evidence? Isn't it time you gave TPN's famous homemade pinball pudding line of puddings a try? And check your local retailers for these amazing original and fantastic new flavors from TPN's famous homemade pinball pudding line of puddings. you
