## Transcript

Let's go up to the playfield. Upper play field. The power. WHOA. OH, that was amazing. Oh, again. Back to back power. There it is. I'm going to try and hit that right ramp and launch this into the atmosphere. See if I can catch air. Oh, yeah, baby. Should crank these. Really? Oh, yeah. That's awesome. How's that make you feel? gives me a little bit of a I'm Mike Dus and this is Pinball Shenanigans. Hi doggies. Oh [] It is Wednesday, May the 13th, and I should be on a plane right now. Literally, it is noon, I think. Uh, my flight is in the air right now and I'm not on it. Sean and Julie are though. I should be going to Yagpin. But unfortunately, I tweaked my back, moving too many pinball machines, and I have been pretty much horizontal for a few days straight because I couldn't really move. And today is the first day I have been out of the house in like 5 days because I just couldn't. Um, so this is kind of like a test drive of my back to see how I can survive. But uh, yeah, the uh, the thought of trying to travel, drive a couple hours, fly 4 hours, stand for 5 days just didn't seem feasible. I mean, maybe I could have potentially plowed through the pain, but uh I don't want to do more damage. I want to use my back in the future for future fun. So, sadly, I had to sit this one out. But, uh, you know, there will always be another Yagp pin. This is the first one I missed since I started going, though. So, I will be watching along the stream and all the tournament software and following y'all along and rooting y'all on. So, like I said, this is my first time leaving the house in like 5 days because I physically couldn't. I uh today is like I said Wednesday and on Sunday I had um Bruce Bighgam from Collingwood scheduled to come pick up Bull Fight over at the garage and uh I thought you know maybe by Sunday morning cuz this started like Friday basically Thursday Friday and I thought oh maybe by Sunday morning I'll be better and I can just go meet him over there. Bull fights a smaller machine. It's not that heavy and I can help him out and I can just I can get through like half an hour of uh you know pain. Um but no, I got up and could barely move. So, and Bruce was coming from like 3 hours away and he's going to be showing up in like half an hour at this point. So, I'm scrambling trying to come up with a backup plan. Fortunately, Jay the neighbor was home from work. It was Sunday, so it was his day off. And with 20 minutes notice, he uh came through. He was able to go like grab my key, go meet Bruce over uh the garage, and uh deal with Bull Fight. So, Bullfight's gone, by the way. So, um, yeah, Jay came in clutch there, but yeah, I literally couldn't even just hop into my car and go participate. So, this is, uh, this is day one of test driving my back after, uh, 5 days of being in the house. So, having said all that, I'm heading over to the Grazy garage. I'm going to give my back a test there. Like if I were to go to Yagpin and fly there and like the 4-hour flight just destroys my back, I could be like stuck in a hotel room for days. And that's worse than not going. At least locally, I can go for a test drive and uh if I find that, you know, I'm suffering, I can just come home and chill and relax. As I have been um chilling at home, Kevin has been hard at work as usual. My Twilight Zone Reimagined is done. Tales of the Arabian Nights is finished. Sorry, that dude was holding a sign that said go slow and I wasn't. Xenon Hard Top is coming along and I checked out a photo or two and it's really looking incredible. Kevin went on a shopping spree. He bought a few pinball machines. Sight unseen. So, we'll check those out when we get there and um I feel like I'm missing something. But anyway, let's go head over to the Grazley garage, check out the action. All right, here at the Grazley garage. Let's see what Mr. Grazley himself has been up to. What's up, buddy? Hello. I've already got a sneak peek in here. We've seen most of everything in the last episode, which I still have yet to uh edit. Been a little bit uh behind. But uh in the last episode, don't worry about the ferns. The ferns are still in here. It's It's still freaking freezing out, man. Like, when is spring going to happen? It kind of looks nice with the uh with the ferns in the background, actually. But yeah, last time the coin door wasn't installed and uh the decal is now installed and this is certainly a unique one-ofa-kind xenon with this killer powder coating color. What did you say it was even called? I have no idea. It's just it's some sort of turquoise and then a ton of metal flake on top. turquoise with the super flake in it. Like look at this. That is really cool. And uh so the cabinet's basically done. And then uh you've moved on to the hard top and this thing is looking incredible. The hard top just like gleams in the light just as just as nice as a a new playfield almost. I mean, they're both amazing. I mean, do they even make playfields right now for Xenon? Are you aware? I don't think so. I love the the choice of clear posts throughout with the blue rubber. Yeah. And then there's going to be some more powder coating accents uh throughout. I'll show you those after. Metals are beautifully polished. This thing is just turning out incredible. Um, you were showing me some of the before picks and this thing was definitely uh bit of a beater and uh is turning out incredible. Oh, and uh you freshly painted all of the side rails. Yeah. Um there's Let me just zoom out here and try and get the whole thing in the frame here before I move on. But yeah, look at that. It's going to be incredible. Um, here are the rest of the rails that you just did. Yeah, my workbench. There's uh James Rees James Rees rails are out of business. So, um, move over James Rees. We've got Grazley rails. They're not freshly made, but they are uh freshly painted and look amazing. And then we've got uh some of the other parts down here. Pop bumpers all rebuilt and looking good. This is the before on that. So, slight improvement. Oh, look at these uh bases here. They are yellowed, filthy, and probably very brittle. I could probably break those in my hand. But we got new pop bumper caps going on. Yeah, new bunch of stuff over here. Oh, yeah. Let's slide that box over and uh see what we get. I always like fishing around in parts boxes. All new plastic set. Got to have that if you're doing the full works. And oh, check this out. Blue transparent flipper buttons. Oh, transparent flipper bats to match. That's awesome. And uh some extra blue rubbers. Couple different colors. Pop bumper ring lights. Pop bumper sockets. Two different styles of pop bumper ring lights. Um, metal acorn nuts. These are the heavy duty good ones. Pin gulp. And those are the old bolts. Yeah, that's pretty sweet. Really no expense spared on uh this restoration here. And then here's some more of the uh powder coated parts that are going to be going on. Got your oneway gates, etc. and the back rail there. Custom apron cards. Yeah. So, this is really coming along. And heard you got some new toys. Uh was it yesterday or the day before? Day, I think. Bought three, four machines sight on scene. And uh well, let's go check them out and see uh how they turned out. All right, let's see what you bought yourself here. I'm excited to see. Although I already know. Okay, we got a Jurassic Park Data East machine. This is the Centaur you've been working on. Oh, I'm going the wrong way, but that's okay. Uh, did Dutch start on this playfield? It looks like uh it's kind of half. Oh, okay. Yeah, I see all the transparent flipper rubbers. I mean, um, rubber rings going on there. We'll get back. We'll circle back to this, but my Twilight Zone re-imagined is complete. The Tales of the Arabian Nights is complete. Fathom is in the queue. And then Safe Crackers just hanging out over there. But here are the other two toys you bought. Party Animal Rock me and Millionaire. both uh like what mid80 ballet games. Oh, Williams. I think I'm familiar. Oh, Williams for million. Look at this in Williams we trust. That's pretty cute. And then this is looking like maybe is this a 6803 with the silly um what you even call it? Keepad. The keypad. Oh yeah. It's uh it's back there. It's kind of just tucked away. Okay, let's just not You got You got this thing uh You got these things semifunctional. So maybe I'll uh try not to break it so that uh they stay that way. How did you end up buying three machines sight unseen? That is unlike you. Um but definitely fun to do. I've done it many times. Looks like uh new displays. Did someone call you or did you sniff out a lead or uh sort of sniff out? Oh, yeah. You're pretty good at sniffing out machines. Uh and then uh Party Animal. Okay. Yeah, this is the one with the jukebox in it. Yeah, that's pretty cool. I've played it a handful of times. Our old London, Ontario Pinball League host, Doug Langs, had one of these. He was really into juke boxes, so he had to have this machine. And that's about the last time I remember playing this one. But like I said, they're semifunctional. So, let's turn it on and see. Millionaire. Oh, yeah. Okay. We'll start with millionaire. So, uh, these are already actually sold and, uh, you know, they won't be here very long. So, we'll get one quick game on each before they leave the arcade. And, uh, I had a millionaire myself not that long ago. Brought it to the auction. and it didn't sell, but then uh JC ended up buying it. So, I did have a stint of Millionaire recently. That was last year. Got some pretty funky tunes. Should crank these really. Oh, yeah. That's awesome. Plunge better. Get a job. Yeah, I like that's the bonus of this game. made brand new displays. Okay. Uh it didn't plunge better. That's okay. I survived at least. Looks like uh I can lock the ball either here or here. There we go. I'm just going to turn off my flash cuz it is blinding me. Okay. left block. Here we go. Try and punch a little better this time. There we go. Look at that. Oh my god. Thank god that gate was open. What a soft punch. Oh, there's gate on that side, too. Okay, let's try and lock this ball here and get a multiball going. I do like the uh the like silver flipper bats. That was way early. That's that typical Williams timer sound that we've got going on in the background. What's that from? Is that like whirlwind or something? No idea. It sounds familiar. Like I don't know, Earth Shakery or something. Okay. A little bit later. No. Later. Oh no. Do you hear that? You [] Two things happened there. The ball search kicked on and I got rejected from the freaking rock shot. There we go. Multiball. All right. Oh my god. It's Oh, it's just two ball. Trying to abuse the uh tilt sensitivity. Okay. No. Let me have a chance. No. Got to go back into the lock. It looks like the timer's going off. What do I got to hit? Okay, you know what? Let's try and uh move on to the uh spinny wheel. We got the roulette thing happening here. It looks like I can spin right here or here when lit, but that's not lit. We'll lock the ball in. skillshot. Okay. What's the timer trying to tell me to do? Oh, it was my spinny wheel timer, I guess. How do I light the spinny wheel? Well, let's lock a ball. Hey, spinny wheels now lit. Okay, that's what the timer is all about. spinning wheel, 100,000 diamonds. Got special and a and a very uh subtle knock. Probably didn't even hear that. lock one more ball. Go for one more multiball. so we can get a jackpot if there is such a thing. Oh my god, it's emerald. Go for emerald. Okay. Where is emerald? Is that the upper flipper shot? Locks are lit. So, got to go for that then. Does that count? Well done, darling. Okay, one more lock shot. I'm really excited. collect 165,000. There it is. I love rubies. Ruby collected. Diamond diamond pay. Oh, so you got to collect all the different uh gems, emeralds, new uh soundtrack, too. It's pretty cool. that's a pretty good run a millionaire. We'll uh we'll call that not trying to play like uh you know 20-minute games here, but it's actually pretty functional all things considered. Eh, buying it sight on scene, not bad at all. All right, so uh we'll plug in uh Party Animal and then we will be right back. All right, let's uh see if we can give Party Animal a try. Um, we were just talking about these extra flipper buttons on this machine. I don't know that they actually do anything. I think Bali in this era just used the same cabinet for all the machines, whether they use the flipper buttons or not. And I think I recall playing this in a pump and dump tournament, maybe even last year, and think they might not actually do anything. But let's see if we can play a game. Hopefully uh she boots up here. And um there we go. Some more funky tunes. I don't remember hearing the tunes when I was playing it. If it was at a tournament, then probably couldn't hear much of it at all. But it's a interesting layout. I gotta give it that. Uh, so well, let's uh hit the start button and see what happens. party time. Oh, yeah, the skill shot there. You got to try and plunge when it's at the uh 50,000. Got to time that. And I believe there is a multiball on this game. It is something to do with that upper flipper though. I almost banked it. Okay, that's cute. It's got a little mushroom target and it got a frog sitting on a mushroom and when you hit the target the solenoid fires and the frog jumps. Let's try that again. Ribbit. It's a very dead pan ribbit to go with it, which is cute. Ribbit. Got some uh licensed music here. Semi. Oh, here we go. Here we go. What happened there? Got lost jerk. swap a letter. Trying to remember where I played this last cuz I I totally remember playing it, but I don't remember um what the strategy was. I think I just kept going in this saucer all day long. It's got kind of like a sort of flash Gordon inlane drop target multipliers over here. Where is the multiball playfield guys? Okay. Making surprise party ramp when qualified begins multiball sequence. Uh surprise party. So it is that green shot. So this goes duck orbit. No, trying not to hit the tip of the flipper. Oh, belch sound effect. I didn't know that was a thing. Yeah, here we go. Oh, I hit the juke box and changed the tune. See that? Okay. I feel like uh getting multiball is like basically wizard mode on this team. That upper ramp shot is not easy. I might be spelling. Okay, spell party. It's flashing now on the play field. So, I just need a N M L. Is there other ways to get pig out? Fun bonus countdown. Oh, I forgot my uh timer. Almost got 25,000. Just missed the 50. I have a house ball. I don't think we're going to be seeing no multiball in this game. That That's not easy. We'll play out the last ball though and see. So, you got to wait for it to say 50,000. Then you plunge it and then No, that's not the right timing. Okay. What else spots? Those are drop targets, I think. Outlaw bonus rank. Ribbit. All right. No multiball, but uh there's some a little bit of party animal action. Well, that's Party Animal. All right. And then Jurassic Park was the uh other game that you bought sight on scene and it's my first look at it really. And actually, it looks to be in pretty good shape. Well, minor wear in the scoops, but that's common for every single one of these Jurassic Parks. And someone did some stuff to it. You got uh colored flipper rubbers and green down there, orange up here. You got some red uh like cliffy posts. So, someone gave it a little bit of attention, but and LEDs. But this one uh these are really old LEDs. It's old style. But this uh you said doesn't boot up, eh? No. What happens when you turn it on? Um nothing. Nothing. Oh, okay. It's a nice looking coin door and gun handle here. That all appears to be in good shape. Cabinet's pretty nice. All in all, eh, it's not bad. Okay. Well, let's see. Nothing happened here. Just out of curiosity. Got general illumination. Hear a little bit of speaker buzz. And I heard some noise when turning it on of the T-Rex. This is the T-Rex. Oh, okay. Did you check the MPU? Is there battery damage? No, it's good. Yeah. Okay. Well, maybe I'll take a quick peek at it before I leave, but uh uh it's a definitely good starting pallet other than functionality, but cosmetically it's pretty nice. Okay, now uh let's move over to the Twilight Zone re-imagined. It is now 100% complete minus when I get it home, I'm going to add color DMD and I've got uh the updated sound ROMs to go with it as well. So, got to give a a shout out to Mark Braw from pinballs.eu. EU for creating and supplying these awesome cabinet decals here. This is uh one of a kind Twilight Zone and uh I was the guinea pig for this and I'm pretty thoroughly pleased with how it turned out. The powder coating choice is just perfect for this game, too. And last time we seen this, the playfield was not in the cabinet. So Dutch has finished with that. And got a new sheet of glass on this thing. And this thing turned out awesome. I love the uh art blades to go with this. Dutch spent a lot of time working on this playfield. As you can imagine, it is just packed full of mechs and wire forms and ramps and toys and clocks and gumball machines. You did a great job installing my mods like Robbie the robot, the piano. Um, we got the uh ramp decal, the lamp decal, my uh Thunderbird, which Dutch says is a Cyclops because if you can notice, one of the LEDs is not working for the headlamp there. But I can give that some surgery and uh see if I can remedy that. Uh yeah, so tons was done to this. You can see like apron cards and uh powdercoated parts throughout. Wire forms, flipper toppers. Shout out to Wally 16 for those. Some new plastics. I didn't end up buying a brand new plastic set on this because I didn't have to. Maybe one more admiration of the cabinet. Uh again, I'll put a link in the description if I remember for uh pinball decals.eu. Kevin uses uh Mark all the time. You might be his number one customer and you're placing orders with him like on the regular. There is a stack under here of cabinet decals that are basically in the queue. So, and I I think I have to order another five sets. Another five sets are coming. That's hilarious. I can't wait to get this thing home and uh play the crap out of it. So, let's give her a play test game here. Hopefully, not an hour long. No, I'm going to Yeah, I mean, this video is already way longer than I was anticipating. So, play a quick ball or two on this. Play a quick ball or two on Tales Arabian Nights and then go home and rest up my back. I think as usual, Dutch said there might be some uh clock issues. So, there's a there's a a new board that is made for that clock board for that clock with all the optos and the LEDs and uh redesigned and everything. I just saw the clock hand spin there though. Oh, that was cool. Magnet grab there. So yeah, it's a it's called a dumbass board, which has been my nickname from time to time. Diamond dumbass. So, you know, I can relate. And uh I think it's maybe I don't know. It's pretty expensive. I forgot. It's either 150 or 250 bucks US, but I can remedy that. Anyway, this thing's playing fast. Playing great though. Good thing I was trying to do a short gameplay video. All right. It is on wheels, so I got to keep that in mind, too. Yeah. I've owned uh three Twilight Zones, but I've never had one in the basement. So, I'm looking forward to this. Also, uh can you Dutch maybe help me get it into the basement? Uh yes. Considering uh I broke my back. Yep. Yes, that would be awesome. All right, let's see if I can uh get a uh power ball. Spiral award. All right, let's go up to the playfield. Upper play field. The power. Whoa. Oh, that was amazing. Oh, again. Back to back. Let's go for three. Oh, look at that. Hey, when things are this fresh and clean and new and brand new flipper rebuilds, that is not surprising that we got air. That is hilarious. Same shot back to back. Okay, here we go. We got uh power ball potential here. Are you ready for want to see a power ball? And then I'll be happy. Uhoh. Sketch. Power. There it is. This is going to be deadly. I'm going to try and hit that right ramp and launch this into the atmosphere. Okay, here we go. Let's try and see if I can catch air. Oh yeah, baby. That's as good as the Adams family like seance knock. That is fast. Okay, I need to hit the right orbit. Oh, this game is insane. I love it. All right, that is Twilight Zone Re-Imagined by Mark Braun and the Grazley Garage, of course. Thanks, Kevin and Dutch. This turned out amazing. All right, last thing on the menu before I take off here is uh final walk through of this Tales of the Arabian Nights for Andre. Let's turn this thing on. I feel like we did a little bit of a gameplay video last time. It was uh 95% done. Now it is 100% done. And Andre is going to be coming in a few days to pick this thing up. He dropped this off uh a while back. This has been a a major project and obviously Kevin doesn't necessarily work on one thing at a time. So, it's been a while at the Graz the garage here, but Andre is um probably super excited to grab this and bring it home. And yeah, we didn't have the the back glass in last time, so we didn't really get to see the full effect with the Superiz Pin 2 DMD in here. And uh it's pretty funky uh speaker lights to go with it. Actually, pretty cool. It is really cool. It is. It's It's different, but I like it. And uh I also like everything else. There's just so much to point out on this game, but uh I'll let you just kind of soop it all in and appreciate it. The chrome treatment is just amazing. I I love me some chrome, and I think it pretty much looks good on anything, but especially Tales of the Arabian Knights. So, one more little tour of the playfield here. Kevin's heading over to the printer right after this to pick up the new apron decals for this. That is the final touch. And uh yeah, have a look at this, Andre. There's a couple more mods you can get. The golden lamp that would just take this to the next level. the like super shiny glossy one with all the jewels a fixed to it. I don't even know if that's available. But uh yeah, I think you should get that too. Add that to the mix. But uh Dutch, that's all easy stuff that can be added later. Oh yeah, that's a that's a literally like two screws. You could pop uh pop that on. I'll just play a couple balls. Uh I'm not going to do like a 20-minut game play here. turned up nice and loud. Beautiful princess was imprisoned by the evil with it. It is almost like the high res option on color DMD where everything's blended together, right? It's pretty awesome. This has like all upgraded speakers, too, right? Yeah. Oh, that's cool. too busy admiring the display and I flubbed. But I saw that tiger. That was awesome. There we go. Superiz snake. Take that genie. you are. Okay, so I'll spin some lamps and um maybe I'll start a mode, possibly try a quick multiball and see a couple of these features. Here we go. Locks are lit. Oops. Left orbit. Get some rocks. Shoot to the left. Right orbit lock. One is locked. I beat the mode. So now I can hit the left ramp. You now possess the Maybe that's not true. the fireball. Destroy another This thing is like playing a work of art. The second wall is Jeff. You okay? One sec. Okay. Oh, you're this phone's gone. Oh, Benedict. Sorry, Ben. Kind of busy. Multiball. Here we go. Multiball. All right. I'm happy I got multiball. I destroyed the genie. I didn't rescue the princess, but that would have taken a little while. But there it is. Another Grazley garage masterpiece. And another uh super happy customer. Wait until the Don't break it. It's my brand new Twilight Zone re-imagined. And uh since my back is jacked, I uh going to just be holding the camera. And that's about the heaviest of lifting I will be doing today. But thank goodness for the Grazley boys for coming in clutch. Jay the neighbor. Jay, where are you? Jay's slacking. It's his day off, too. All right, Kevin, you ready to try out some getaway action? I was in the barn. Yeah, right. Well, let's see if it even boots up. So, it's been uh like a week and a half. It is not in a convenient spot. It is definitely in a weird location. It's like right there. Yeah, pretty much. All right. So, is there a ball in here? Yes. Okay. Hit hit it. No. Okay. We got to got to buy in, buddy. Got to see that. Oh, it clicks, but it doesn't actually move. Move. It's still on 69. Okay, here we go. That's the startup sequence. There's no uh like chimes to So, this is as boring as we have all the other no sound games. Well, you're going to get some chimes hopefully. There we go. Now you're getting away. Look at that. Isn't this the most fun game you've ever played in your life? This is But uh the fact that I somehow miraculously got this thing to [] work is definitely uh half miracle, half luck. Maybe 3% skill, but it's it works, man. It works to to fairly decent degree. We got a spinny wheel. Oh, you know what? The optos don't work on that. Otherwise, we'd probably hear a chime. I like that. Oh, yeah. The pass through. You like the sneak through with the no rubber? When uh Sean and Shane were here, we were doing the sneak through maneuver before showing up at your place uh shortly after. But now you got to try and hit uh up this lane here. It's not easy. Oh, good save. No. Uh, well, there you go. You, uh, it actually, that plunger is working remarkably well. It took me a while to mess with this whole shooter landing thing or shooter rod and housing. I managed to get the original uh, housing. Out of all the three machines, there was only one decent plastic housing which I had to crazy glue together. Actually, when I pulled off the shooter spring, it there was two shooter springs on it. Yeah, because it didn't loop all the way around. So, they thought, let's double up. All right, I'm going to I'm going to tee you up here. See if you can go through the lanes. Oh [] Oh [] Okay, up here you go. Oh, a little bit little bit of action. Two little chimes. Oh, same instant replay. One more try. There you go. Got away. You got to get all the way to this side, I think. And then these divert like this and this and alternately. So, yeah. I'm looking forward to actually like figuring out the rules and stuff. We got a close right alley. Not doesn't seem to be closing anything, but there you go. Not too horrible. It's functioning somewhat. Okay. Now, moving on to the slightly better machine. Twilight Zone Re-Imagined has showed up thanks to Kevin and Dutch and uh because my back is effed. They did all the lifting. Almost darn near killed Dutch, but uh he survived. He's not here now, but going to turn this thing on in the games room for the first time and uh have a quick ball before I collapse into a pile of bones. Here we go. Not quite the intro we were hoping for. Oh, I got to just exit out of that and here we go. Balls are uh locating. And got to crank this. Whoa, that's pretty cranked. I don't need I don't need to crank anything. All right, I'll play uh one ball here. My first ball on my new toy in my games room. You this door with the power ball. Oh, that was awesome. You unlock this door with the power ball. Oh [] that's loud. I got a color EMD ready to go for this bad boy. Welcome to the future. Oh no. Robbie, what happened to you? What happened? The Robbie. Oh, what? He's uh he's falling over a little bit drunk. All right, let's try. Oh my god, you idiot. Don't keep nudging with your sore back. I got to be a little more ginger. Can't believe I just tried to [***] slide save a 300 lb widebody. Check out warning. Oh no. All right. Not looking to have the game of my life. I can stand for another like 1 minute. All right. Did I spell I thought I spelled gum. Okay, there we go. Gone his felt. There it is. Thought I hit that ramp already. How about backhand for the ball? Go for camera. Clock is worth millions. Come on, make that. Bring it. Oh no, that's trouble. Ah, I wasn't about to nudge that out. Well, had three Twilight Zones, but this is the first time I've actually one's made it way into the basement thanks to Kevin and Dutch for doing all the heavy lifting. But, uh, Twilight Zone Reimagined has finally arrived. just love the soundtrack, eh? So cool. She's a beauty. It's uh I think Robbie Oh, Robbie. He's drinking a little bit too much on the job. Robbie down for the count. Yeah, I like this idea. The the the dumb bag and gold balls Canadian tour. Yeah. You're going to spot the hundred grand and we'll go and we're going to double our money and back. We're going to hit up every casino from east to west. Every casino. And we need our IDs and everything. So we ram it up the ram. Raming up the long band.
