Now who's responsible for this unwarranted attack on my person? I say, I say, I say, pay attention now boy, this is of course, Foghorn Leghorn presents the Pinball Junk Drawer. You all asked for it, I say, you all asked for it now, you're gonna get it. Boy, oh boy, are you gonna get it. Go, I say, go away boy, you bother me. And just like that, we are back, it's time for the one, the only, often imitated, never duplicated. Pinball junk drawer. Big show 95. The only show scientifically advanced enough for your ears and your butts. Through the power of AI. My name is Foghorn Leghorn. With me as always. Craft Bruce Sally. Peep boop. End. 10. Go to 20. 20. Go back to 10. I'm not a coder. You might be able to tell from that stumbling, bumbling, rumbling, fumbling. Oh, yuck. Anyway, yes, this is, of course, the Pinball Junk Drawer. 95! Yeah. Wow. Almost at 100. Almost. That's crazy. Dare I say we can see it in the future. Yeah. One possible future. We're going to run with that AI thing. I just queued up for no reason. Nah. Yeah, no, indeed. You know, I would like to say, start the show off. Thanks for those who have been going there, but if you could, hit up Silver Ball swag, you know, we have some merch on there that you will love to show off at your nearest pinball show or expo. And people will be like, hey, what's that show? You'll be like, well, that's these two idiots up in Wisconsin. And then they'll be like, aren't all the idiots from Wisconsin? They're like, yeah, mostly. But these two don't talk much about pinball. In fact, we're not even sure why we listen. And you'll be like, oh, okay. And then they'll sink away. So it's a way to repel other people from talking to you. So make sure you're going and getting some pinball junk your swag from Silver Ball Swag. You'll be glad you did. We went to, oh, also before doing some shout outs in the beginning. Yeah. Big shout out to Tao, our exchange student. She gave me a gift card for Christmas for Lois. And as she calls it, or Lois, as the rest of the world refers to it. So it started off getting me some emergency, Klein ratcheting deep socketed things for pinball and I had some more stuff left on the card so I went and got it physically and bought a couple more Klein tools for the pinball I have a pinball toolbox You have a toolbox for the pinball machines downstairs that's a rolling one I'm slowly converting that to all Klein equipment and some craftsmen. And then my upstairs tools are all craftsmen, but they're the old ones, the good ones. I'm kind of a tool snob, as it turns out. Yes, you are. And so, yay for that. These are awesome tools, all magnetic. Got a set of magnetic screwdrivers, which is just great because anyone that works on pinball machines knows that little sound of, and as it's rolling down the play field, you panic. because you know you're never going to see that screw again in the history of ever. Until you're playing a game and it just comes shooting out at you. And then it's going to make you make the ball skip down the side to drain, and you're going to be like, oh, you got me again, screw. Then it's going to go, see, you're at a cheap, and it's going to hop down, and you're still not going to be able to find it. So the magnetic screwdrivers and whatnot, that helps a little bit. So thank you very much, Tao, who doesn't listen to the show at all and probably be like, why do you even do that show? We'd be like, I don't know. Aw. You never know. We have fun doing the show. We do have fun doing the show. So yay for that. We did get to play some Beetlejuice. We went to Lumberjack Johnny's. They have Beetlejuice. They have Pokemon and a couple others that we like to make sure we play. I hadn't had any exposure to Beetlejuice. So I will say it's beautiful, first of all. Um, like it's one of those super packed games, just like, uh, spooky really brings it with the atmosphere and the sounds and the stuff like they, they really, really, they're almost them and JJP, I think pack the most in their games. I think I've said that before on air. It's a fun game. Uh, I, I had to play it a lot more. Yeah. I think so too. I didn't get to experience very much of it and it's, I can tell there's a lot going on in it. You know what I mean? There's a lot of things I haven't even remotely began to understand as far as unlock this and do this. I know if you talk to it, it answers back. But I don't know if in a lumberjacks, if you do it, I don't know if it would hear you or not. It depends when you're there. We like to go right when they open. So there's usually us and either one or two screamy guys. And then Wilson sometimes, usually. So, yeah, what were your thoughts about it? What did you think about the machine? I thought it was very nice. Yeah. It has this neat, like, I guess weird kind of, when you plunge the ball, there's this, like, drain that's right there. Oh. Sometimes it's up, sometimes it's not. Yeah. So then it goes down and gets caught by the ball save. Yeah. And then, like, throws the ball into the play field. Yeah. Sometimes it throws it really far. sometimes it barely throws it so you kind of really have to be paying attention yeah i'm like a mode where the flippers are doing that day oh song oh yeah which is weird but cool it was cool you know you just have it didn't really affect it so much but it kind of does because you're your sensory overload going on you know i i don't know much about that movie i know i we've seen the movie you know i think i probably saw it twice maybe yeah like once or twice and it was like I remember of it and it's not like I dislike it I just don't have any nostalgic fever for it you know forever so I'm kind of like eh but any good shooting game is a good shooting game you know so it's not that I would dislike it because of Beetlejuice if anything I've heard many many people love that movie very much so cool we're going to put more time on it and then we'll do a little bit more of a deeper dive I think you know the kineticist was talking about saying if you want to become a writer or you want to do some writing for the Kineticist website. So if you're into that, go ahead. I reached out and kind of said, hey, I'm interested. I'm trying to figure out the angle. That's the one thing. One of the things, I read a lot of pinball newspaper, like very old articles about pinball, starting from the 1930s, where we have a pinball, or we have a newspapers.com account and what that is is basically there's millions of newspapers that have been scanned in from like 1300s i think there was some there was some of my crazy really old ones all the way up to now so you can and it's searchable so like literally i was going year by year and just going like 1929 pinball and it would pull up every article that's in their archives about it and then there's thousands and then you kind of sift through and you know you know like find pieces like that So I was going year by year Well first I was going decade by decade but then it really ramped up Then I was going year by year So I was kind of like okay what can I use? How can I use that for writing that's not dry and milquetoast like boring, you know? Because there is a lot of interesting periods, you know, like the 1930s and 40s. It was really, really hot. You know, pinball was like this new explosion of like awesomeness. And then immediately it went into the think of the children's stuff, you know, because there was actually gambling going on with these machines. How in depth. I don't know. I have to like kind of think through the process of like what is going to be good for the kineticist. Yeah. What's going to be something that's fun for us to write, for me to write, you know. Or fun for everybody to read. Well, yeah, of course. You know, yeah. The readers, you know, should be front and center. So it because it is interesting. And pulling, because we have a very flippant viewpoint of like, oh, well, you know, it was the four times, then it was illegal, then Roger Sharp happened. Now it's awesome. And that's like all people don't like know nor care about it. So like maybe I'm caring too much about like the little reading year by year and kind of reading about it, you know. Now like I'm into the 1980s and I'm hitting a lot of like Harry Williams being referenced talking about like how it's the end of pinball. because video, like, 82 arcades were popping up and pinball was, like, that thing, that dusty thing in the back that broke a lot because video games were hot and Pac-Man and Asteroids and it went nuts, you know. So that's this period now, which obviously, in retrospect, it's like, well, at the time it seemed like they were gone, but they're not. I don't know. I have to think on this a little bit more. But, eh, something will come to me, you know. It just has to be a fun angle. So I listened to a bunch of recaps about TPF. A big takeaway for me was that Hexa Pinball, they had a really good spot, and they were going to bring three musketeers. Oh. And the machines got held up in customs. Oh, no. And it wasn't like they sent them really early. So it wasn't like on them. And I was like, that sucks. Yeah. Like, I was really, like, and I'm thinking, like, well, how much of an impact would that have on a company? I know financially it was a disaster. You spent all that money to ship these games. Yeah. This is going to be your time to show off and get out there, you know. Where are they? They're in, dang it, I don't know, Hexa Pinball of France? Okay. But, I mean, and they still have Allentown and they have whatever, what's that, Pinbrew coming up. So it will get out there, but TPF is like a real front and center kind of place. We've never been to TPF. No, we haven't. No. It's one that's kind of on the hot list. Right. I was thinking we really got to get to some of these that we haven't been to before. Right. I know that one's a huge one. But Expo's so fun and so close. I know. Could that derail a company? It could. I guess. I mean, look at what happened with Winchester at Expo. Because that exposure was so hot. And it just went nuts. And it sold out immediately. It did. So now you're talking about having the game at a show. Yeah. And your game's not there. And there's nothing there. Right. There's some information, but... Right. Like our world, the machines speak for themselves, kind of. Yeah. You know. That's tough. Yeah, it was sad to hear that, you know. Yeah. They were the ones that had Space Hunt at Expo. Oh, okay. Remember that? They had that group of them there. Yeah, Cos loves Space Hunt. Yes. And I think, isn't that the same place I got that book? Maybe. No, that was, maybe. It might be. I don't know. My brain kind of forgets stuff as I go along. Lumberjack Dave made the sizzle reel on the Pokemon Stern. It was cool to see him, though. That was in the Stern of the Union. Oh, the Stern of the Union address. Yeah, which is just like a monthly catch-up kind of thing. The usual stuff. It was cool. It was neat seeing him there and hanging out with him again. I always love Stern. I think I want to try and reach out to the American Pinball and see if they can, next time that guy's going to be down there, see if we can get down to do a tour. Yeah. With the new guy, what is it, I guess, J.B. Vincent? Something like that. Yeah. I don't know. Of all the companies, like CGC, I think highly of. They had a great tour. They're just doing their own thing. Spooky, we love Spooky. Yeah. Stern, we're kind of Stern fanboys. You know, we are Stern fanboys. I think American might be worth another try. Yeah. I had a weird feeling after we went there that time. But this is all new. Yeah. New everything. Yeah. You know. And maybe I'll be their new graphic janitor. Maybe. So who knows? Right. This will be my pitch. My sizzle reel. I would like to be your graphic janitor. Here's my resume. Here's my resume and a number written on it. You can equal that or more. I'm your guy. No, so it was just something I was thought of because we'd have to figure out a date that we'd both have off and go down there. Yeah. But it would be fun, I think. Yeah, maybe. You know, it would be the same building. Maybe we'd do a two-dayer and hit up the Galloping Ghost. Yeah. And then that one. I don't know. It was just something I was thinking of. Right. Did you hear Monster League hockey is going to be produced? No, I didn't. Yes. Oh, that's awesome. So apparently Ramps Pinball, and I know, there was some place that showed Road Trip, and then I don't know anything about it. But supposedly they are going to produce Monster League Hockey. That's awesome. I don't know any real details about it other than that. So that's kind of cool. Yeah, it is. Yay for our slippy Samsonite spaghetti super shiny skateboarder Glenn. I think he's the president of Monster Hockey. I don't know. No. He did something with them. I know that. So in my brain, he's the president. Wait. Congratulations on your promotion, Glenn. Sure, why not? So, yeah, that's cool, though. No, what is it? Jake Danzig does those. Yeah. That's cool. I think it has some production name. Their company has a name, but I don't know it. They're just the Mutalee hockey guy. So, yeah, we'll see. We'll see when and where. I don't even know where that's out of. Ramps? Pinball? I don't know anything about them, you know. Hmm. Yeah. What are you going to do? So what do you got going on? Anything? Do we have some numbers? I do. Do we have some awesomeness? Yeah. Are you ready to go into our sponsored? Well, first we have... I thought you were going to swear over there. Well, first... Nah. The Wichicol is coming up soon. What's that? The Bells and Chimes Fox Cities launch party for the Pokemon. Oh, man. When is that? April 18th at Lumberjack Johnnies. Wow. Yeah. That's going to be fun. Yeah, it is. That's a fun game. I know. I wasn in the mood last time I played it It angered me I have trouble hitting the damn Pokeball shot It like the main shot It right there You can do it when you don need to Oh. And I'm trying to capture one. I didn't even capture a new one. I don't think last time I played it. I left so angry. I'm like, you know what, man? I'm going to go over here and play Deadpool or something. I forget what I played. I had a really good game on Pulp Fiction. Yeah. I was a little sad because Nikki won't be at the launch party. Oh, she won't? No. Dave is an ordained minister, quite like yourself. Yes. And he's performing a wedding the day before for some of their friends. Oh, that's cool. They'll be in the wedding and performing a wedding. Where's that going to be at? I'm not sure. Yeah, it doesn't matter. Yeah. So, well, that's all right. Yeah. You'll represent the Disney Fox City crew, I guess. You're going to wear your same outfit, your Disney outfit? No, it's a Pokemon, really. Ah, just so you didn't know that. and you just show up like a Disney princess and then just go around and tap people with a wand when they're playing. That would go over well. Because tournament people aren't obsessed. They would have no problem with you just interfering with their game. Imagine if people were playing a tournament and it was just like an expo where people would just walk up and start touching crap and taking pictures. Oh, the sass meter would break. I can't get over that sometimes. Sometimes you're standing there playing. And, like, sometimes it's the first time you're playing a game ever. And you wait about an hour. Yeah. And there's people just, like, pointing at stuff. Walking over. Taking pictures of it. And talking to their friends about it. Setting a beer on it while you're playing. You're like, hey, man, do you mind? I'm playing here. Yeah, I was. Yeah. Conventions are kind of different rules. None might say. Right. I mean, it's exciting and everything. That's what it is. I think it's the excitement. and you get whipped up and you're like, ah. But if you see a really long line in the back behind you there, you probably shouldn't do what you're doing. No, probably not. It happens all the time. Right. I always bite my tongue. I don't really get into it with people. But sometimes I'm like, come on, man. Yeah. But I think that would be like a handicapped. You could even do like a special thing. You'd be like, this is going to be expo. This will be like expo tournament. This is going to prepare you for expo. It's going to be a tournament based on it. And they'll just hire people to just wander around and do dumb crap around you. And fart. And do all kinds of horrible things. And you're like, oh, this is the worst tournament ever. This is an expo tournament. Oh, my goodness. We might have invented a whole new category right now. Maybe, right. So make sure you're checking out the Lumberjack Johnnies. We're going to drop in their teaser, and then we're going to go over some numbers. And then it'll be time for everyone's favor. Saddle up the whole dang crew. Lumberjack Johnny's is calling you Axes fly, skee-balls roll Pinball popping, arcades glow A hundred beers, hot smoked meat Pizza so good, you're stomping your feet Lumberjack Johnny's your fun time one-stop retreat And we're back. You have some info from Atomic, Nikki, and Lumberjack Dave for us? I do. I am surprised by the numbers this week. Oh, that means Pokemon got dethroned. Yep. Wow. One week in the tops. Yeah. Okay, what do we got going on? Tell us. So, number three is Harry Potter. Okay. Number two was Pokemon. Okay. And number one was Beetlejuice. Wow. Which I understand Beetlejuice. Yeah, the new hot. Yeah. The new hotness, you know. But I was very surprised by it. Yeah. And. Oh, and just a quick aside. Lumberjack Dave actually they had one open spot and with him driving down to get the Beetlejuice he now has the Beetlejuice play field so he's straight across all the I think he has all of the spooky playfields. Wow. Above there. That's awesome. It's so cool. But I did get a note about and he said that the Beetlejuice he says Beetlejuice for the win. One Beetlejuice pulled in more quarters than two Pokemon. Wow. Yeah. And I was like, that surprises me. And he said, well, it was the first week that it was out. My goodness. That's going to be curious to watch. Yeah. The heavyweight slug it out. All right. So what else have we got? What are the rustiest, dullest axes in the axe-throwing world? All right. So we have third from the bottom is John Wick. Okay. Second from the bottom is Led Zeppelin. Okay. And the bottom is Iron Maiden. The bottom's Iron Maiden? Yeah. Wow. And then he said, I think it's time to bring Iron Maiden home for a while. Yeah, I would take Iron Maiden home and I'd probably flip Zeppelin. Yeah. I don't know. I mean, me personally. Right. Just either trade it or sell it and just get something else up in there. You never know. Yeah. I don't. And then. Wow. Yeah. I would never. I would. Yeah, I would. Maiden's a good game. Yeah. But maybe it's just time for a change up, you know. And a fresh lineup always brings more intrigue, you know. And he knows that. They're always adjusting and changing stuff there. That's crazy. Yeah. It's neat to be part of this to see, like, what tops and bottoms are for us. I'm surprised. Yeah. I'm surprised that Pokemon. With two machines there. I know. That's crazy. Right. That is crazy, you know. Yeah. We'll see. long run we'll see. Now Harry Potter has been in the top every week or no? I think it drops out sometimes. I think it does but I don't think it's been in the bottom at all. Oh no. I don't think like I don't know if you'd ever see like Elton John would probably never be in the bottom. Evil Dead like those are maybe. I don't know. Kong. There's some really good shooters that'll probably always at least be mid-pack. You know. Yeah. Who knows. But they also have, this week is punk rock pinball on Friday night. All right. So there'll be punk rock music, and then there's food and drink specials. And it is buy one, get one free tap beer. Oh, wow. Yeah. You got to talk them into getting some tap, yingling on tap. Right. Going back old school. So what date would that be? That's going to be the 11th. 10th. The 10th. Okay. April 10th is Punk Rock. I think they have it up on our website, whatever they have, the events, the Friday things. I'm not sure because I think they post like every week or so. So I'm. Facebook stuff. Yeah. That's what it is. Everything. Yeah. My brain. No one has like a website you go to anymore. It's all just social media. Right. Yikes. Getting old is tough, folks. really, really, really tough, let me tell you. We just get to the yellow pages and look up how to explain to youngsters about their pagers and baggy pants. Oh, no. Yeah. We didn't get any emails this week. So sad. If you have any questions that you'd like us to answer or you have anything you'd like us to talk about, shoot us an email, pinballjd at gmail dot com You be glad you did and as always if you like some stickers go ahead and shoot us uh an email with your address this isn some kind of ponzi scheme we just going to mail you stickers and one of crafter sally's handmade cards which we'll sign those and they might be worth money sometime sometime maybe i don't think you never know we are we are in the middle of trying to figure out what we're going to do for expo i know that seems as far away but in the world of promo items, it isn't far away. Right. You know, and part of me is like, oh, we could do like some really cool, like, you know, those long flat bottle openers. Mm-hmm. Like this stuff, this is literally just money we're throwing away though. Right. You know, this isn't for sale. No one's going to buy a pinball junk drawer bottle opener. You never know. Well, you know, so something nice to give away would be cool. We do have something planned that we're going to be selling if we can get my lazy butt going on it that we haven't even talked about yet. I'm waiting until it's an actually physical thing so I don't feel like an idiot when it doesn't happen. So we're trying to get something together and rolling for it. But I'm also trying to find something cool and fun for Expo as a giveaway. It's like two or three bucks a piece. So it's going to be like 50 of them. And then that's it. Those are going to go away and just that'll be once and donners to get our name out there. Yeah, you know. I don't know what's even – it doesn't even matter. Right. Might be just something fun. We always have stickers to give out, too. Yeah. Because once you get through these, we're going to redesign them. We're going to make them bigger. Bigger. And I'm going to take away that it's a podcast, and we're going to say for your ears and your butt. So round two is going to, now people know that it's a podcast, so we're going to take that text off and put for your ears and your butt. But it's not going to be bigger. I don't think it could be any bigger. Crafty Cell keeps lobbying to make it smaller. I was like, there's no way in hell I'm making a sticker smaller. so I don't even know what you're thinking. It's like the size of your hand. Oh, that's good. You run up and you palm it. You can be like, yeah. You hit it with a post. Maybe just a scooch smaller. Or the side of the bus. You go, yeah. And then you're telling the whole bus route about the pinball junk drawer. We should start a tagging thing. If you send us a picture that you tagged our name somewhere, we'll send you a sticker. Or something. Which doesn't really mean anything because I just told them I would send them free stickers. So I guess if you want to commit a felony for no reason, go ahead, send us a picture of it, and then we'll send you stickers. This is what you're supposed to say. Don't do any of that stuff he just said. Yeah, don't. Don't. Okay. No felonies for us. I don't think anyone will, anyway. All right. We got anything else? Is it time for everyone's favorite? I think that's about it. I do, too. Here's our drop-in, and we'll be back in a sec. Craft Brew Sally. You're gonna have to put your journal down Crab Brew Sally Child You've been to all the breweries around You've been running all over the town Tell me what to drink until I fall on the ground Yeah Somebody put some beer in my mug And we're back. What do you got for us this week? This week we're going to talk about a fun little brewery that's kind of close to our hearts a little bit. Yeah. Okay. The Fat Orange Cat Brew Company. Yes. Where are they located? They are in Connecticut. Ah, I looked it up on our break. The Hexa Pinball is out of France. Oh, yes. Yes. So, okay. Sorry. So, what is Fat Orange? Fat Orange Cat Brew Company. Nice. Yes. They started in 2016 with a farm brewery. Huh. Okay. That'll explain the names. Yeah. Because cats are kind of... There's always cats kicking around a farm. It's just, you know, the way it goes. But it sounds like they have closed the original brewery and they are part of something called the 12% Beer Project, which is sort of like Brew Hub was in Tampa. I got you. It's like a contract brewing place that their stuff is brewed at. Yeah. But they're award winning. I think they have like three gold medals, like eight silver and like 11 bronze. So you've only had one of their beers. I had two. Two of their beers, okay. I had one because you're like, look at this one. Yeah. Because it has a fat orange cat on it called, and that one was called Chonky. Yeah. Chonky is like a fat, on the internet that's what fat cats are called. That's like the nickname. Yeah. And it was, I mean, the two that I had were both IPAs, and they were both really good. The one I made you try is one of their, I think it was a gold medal. Yeah. And they were both very tasty. But all of their beers are cat-themed. Just on time. That was Belle. That's Belle. Not a chunky cat. She's whisper thin. She is not chunky at all, but she does have some orange in her. A little bit. Speckles. But a lot of their brews are cat named. Yeah. Some of them were really funny. The craft brews, that is like their realm. Just zany, like funny names, like sell some of the beers. Yeah. Honestly, when you're sitting there looking at them, you're like, I don't know, this one looks goofy. You know, it's just, it's a whole subculture of beer is just the naming and labeling and the wacky graphics on them. Really. It's true. I mean, how many times do we buy stuff for the label? Yeah, because it's just goopy. You know, I'm going to buy this. Unless it's like 28% crap. I'm not working that hard for a beer. Sorry, guys. So some of them that they have are like baby kittens. All cats are gray in the dark. There's another one. Vito the beer whale cat. Okay. And this one made me laugh. Write drunk, edit sober. Those are words to live by. Right. But, I mean, I would definitely check them out because they were all, the two that we had were very, very good. Cool. Okay, so that was Orange. Fat Orange Cat Brew Company. And they're located out of? Connecticut. Yes. Very cool. So check them out. I think that's it. You got anything else for the show? No. As always, hit up projectpinball.org. You can buy a raffle ticket or just give them some money. They're doing good for the neighborhood. I think that's going to do it. You're good? Yep. All right. This has been the clunkiest show in Clunk Town, Big Show 95. We'll see you for a smooth jazz version of 96 next time. Thanks once and all. one and all for listening to this dumbness about pinball and life and love. That's it, man.
