## Transcript

Warning, the following episode contains adult language and screaming goats. Listener discretion is advised. The Pinball Network is online. Launching, The Pinball Show. This week on The Pinball Show, Dennis and I provide listeners with Stern Pinball Production Updates, a discussion of what's to come from Stern and when, as well as opening up a John Wick LE. talking about American Pinball's possible public offering, Chicago Gaming Company production updates, and the rumor of another run of Medieval Madness remake, Jersey Jack considering reggae, pinball market trends, fencing in a pragmatic peacock, and a ton more. Official Pinball Show Club members get exclusive content this week discussing tasks and responsibilities that I completed this past week as a pinball distributor. Some seem to find it interesting to see how the pinball sausage is made. It's episode 154. This one's a lot of fun. I want to see you peacock, cock, cock, you peacock, cock. Pinball is a game of skill. For some, it's a passion and a lifestyle. It's time for the Pinball Show. It's pinball with personality. Worded on the street, you've got something to show me. Me, magical, colorful, mystery, mystery. Come one, come all, it's the Pinball Show, episode 154. I'm Zach Minney alongside Dennis Creasel. This week, Dennis, how's your life going? Quiet. Is it? No, I had a bunch of storm damage to clean up, and I was out doing more cleanup recently. Talked a little about that on Eclectic Gamers. I listened. I heard. Yeah, I won't re-bore what few audience members are cross-contaminated by both of this show and that one. So anyway, I'm still doing some stuff there. Your poor white picket fence. Well, no, it's Gene Robert Blakeman. Come on, you know me. I don't have money like that. Which is why I went white picket fence. Yeah, I'm getting quotes to get the big trees cleaned up in the back. I want one more quote and then I'll make my decision. Are you going to replace the entirety of that fence? Oh, no, no. Probably. There's only like maybe four links. We're talking maybe 40 feet of it. Why can't you just replace it all with white picket? Oh, my gosh, no. I don't like wood fences. No taller than four foot. No, there's no point. And it's a lot of fencing. I don't want to do it. I'm tired. I don't want to spend any money. It's not like you live in a bad side of town. Just have a nice fence. No. The fence is just supposed to be there. It's just there. Don't fence me in. I ended up doing a bunch of research because I was like, do I really own the fence or are they boundary fences? Oh, is that bitch next door? I actually spoke with that person and my neighbor and she was them your fence. But I thought it was mine as well because the quote-unquote nice side is facing towards all the neighbors on all sides, which is normally the polite thing. Even a chain link fence has a nice side. The poles of the fence, the support posts of a wood fence should be interior, as seen as the respectful thing. So that's how this is configured on all three sides. Well, all four sides, technically. But anyway, but in Kansas, if the fence is on the property line, it's co-owned. Wow. And both people have a say in its maintenance and such. So I tried to figure it out. I don't know. I pulled my deed and stuff. I couldn't see anything. So I think it was installed after the house came in. And I don't know. I looked at one of the maps, and it said it was in my side of the property. So I was just like, you know what? It is probably mine. And she's been here longer than me, and I've been here 20 years, and I've always taken care of the fence. I wasn't going to try and pass the buck. I just wanted to be sure she didn't outright own it. But she even says she doesn't. Why don't you move to the country? Like, just alongside a meadow or a hill. You know what? I grew up in the country, Zach, and it is a hellscape. There is no point in... There are always a few people out there. Some of them might be our listeners. They're like, you know, I want that country lifestyle. I don't want to be around any people and any of that. And you know what? I got tired of living in a place where you couldn't even get pizza delivered. It was just ridiculous. And I have no interest in being there. Unless I owned like a farm, I don't see any point in being that far away. I could see you with a piece of wheat in your mouth and a cowboy hat. But, I mean, being in the city doesn't matter. I got ding-dong ditched last night at like 9.30. Did you? Yeah, I saw it because I have the little ring camera. So I heard the little girls on it being like, are you ready? And one of them put something down. I think it was a stick, probably a switch that she had to pick out for herself. And her friend picked it up. So I guess she was like, no, you got to bring the switch home or there's going to be hell to pay. And they rang the doorbell and giggled and ran down the sidewalk. I love that there was one that's like, I'm going to shit on his porch. You're like, easy, Grace. She didn't. And they placed themselves so that she could barely touch the doorbells because they were already trying to get in a runner's position before they pushed it. Oh, I thought you put it like seven foot high. No, no, no, no. It's a normal height. But it's because they're there and they're on my step away from it and they're reaching. I was amazed they didn't push the doorbell with their switch. You should have just opened the door and started throwing potatoes at them or something. I did that before on someone. He wasn't ringing the doorbell. You threw a potato at someone? No, no. He was deliberately triggering the ring motion detection. That's triggering you. So, well, once he ran up to do it again, I opened the door on him, and he panicked. He knocked on your forehead? He tried to run, and then he realized he probably couldn't actually escape. Not that I was chasing him. and he just stood there nimble and quick and he just looked at me like he just had this weird expression on his face and i i asked him what are you doing oh man and and he goes i'm bored oh uber eats this kid was like eight i just said okay well how about don't be bored over here anymore and he's like okay don't be bored over here i'm just like you've been caught you lose now you know you gotta go to someone else's house and do it i've never seen you in full sprint i've never seen you run you're my best buddies i've never seen you run why would you see me i i i think uh i think true measurement of friendship is seeing the other had you seen greg bone run you know i haven't what no so your your assumption of true measurement doesn't sound very realistic I need to see you both run. I've seen Greg run. Oh, I'm waiting for the punchline here, but I don't know what it could be. You don't know? It's easy. I'll tell you. Running down our listener numbers on the episode he hosts. Oh! Well, I'm just saying. It's not our topic. Numbers don't lie. You had John Wick. You had John Wick for that episode as a new release. We discussed it the week before. I looked at those numbers today. I'm like, Greg, come on, man. You got to try. You already got like 20% of the audience that wants him to replace me on this show. So this should have been an easy sell. I just can't. I want to. Next time we see one another, we need to run. We need to run. Okay. Well, I don't do distance running. I tried that for a while. I used to be a smoker, so no. But as a youth, I did do sprinting. Promise me we can wear short shorts and no shirts. All right, deal. I can't make such promises. Really? I'll provide. All right. Craig Bobby. You know what? That little Canadian seems like a runner. He seems like he's got the body type for it. Pre-found Bobby. Really? Yeah, he does. He's often in disguise. I often just imagine him walking around asking people, am I not turtley enough for the turtle club? Oh, poor Craig. You'll hear him today talk about not being invited to the media tour. Oh, no. He didn't get invited either? We forgot. I forgot to tell you all. This is a warning that no, this actual episode of the Pinball Show, this is the podcast that will not be covering the Stern Pinball Media Factory Tour. And, yeah, you're welcome. Hello and welcome back to the Pinball Show's Top Stories. I'm Craig Bobby. Well, just lots of news boiling and bubbling in the pinball industry, but I'm going to forego all of those pinball happenings for a bit of an opinion piece this week on what our good friend Dennis Creasel has aptly named the Stern Pinball Damage Control Tour of 2024. Say what? Yes, folks, believe it or not, sometimes there's controversy and teeth gnashing in this great little pinball hobby of ours, And who better to stir this pinball pot of gold, albeit maybe a little inadvertently this time, than the undisputed leader of the pinball world, Stern Pinball. So after receiving a rather tepid reaction from pinball fans about Stern's latest John Wick pinball machine, Stern's creative control officer and pinball icon George Gomez tells longtime mechanical engineer turned John Wick playfield designer Elliot Elliot Eismin to hold his beer as Gomez decides to take center stage and hits the pinball media circuit doing two brilliant interviews on the Flip N Out Pinball With Friends stream and then on to the Loser Kid Pinball podcast, where in both, George goes into enthusiastic detail about the ins and outs of what went into the making of John Wick and the challenges of what Stern faced but overcame it all to still deliver a compelling and fun shooting machine. Except this time, in trying to go on the PR offensive, Stern created a double problem. Not only were they trying to justify and explain having their artistic hands tied by the John Wick licensure Lionsgate to not use guns anywhere on the playfield, but then Stern dared to use a number of media influencers outside of our pinball hobby to stir up a little more interest in this new game, and also with the pinball hobby as a whole, and that's when the real backlash against Stern and the John Wick pinball machine began. Now pinball media influencers within the pinball hobby, who wondered out loud about why Stern chose to go outside of its safe and welcoming little niche of fans, and instead dare to lavish non-pimball media influencers with VIP treatments and swag. Meanwhile, pimball media personalities who have slayed and poured their hearts and souls into countless hours of podcast streams, blogs, and news articles felt passed over, ignored, and let's face it, downright insulted, and of course had more than enough means to voice their opinions as such. Hold on! Okay. Holy Spirit, activate! Oh no! Holy Spirit, activate! Holy Spirit, activate! Activate! Activate. All right, let's go. Now Stern really did have some damage to control. So what did Stern do next? Well, they did what any well-meaning and market-leading company would do when they are perceived to have anger in their face. They went on a well-meaning and well-thought-out pinball media PR campaign by extending a select number of all-expenses paid invites to loyal pinball media influencers, podcasters, streamers, and website content creators from within the pinball hobby to come on down to the Stern Mothership for a little good old-fashioned VIP Stern pinball treatment. It's a crotch party right up in here. Why don't you lick on this big joint? Stop it, Dale. Stop it. Stop it. The result? Well, yet more controversy, as, of course, those in the pinball media who did not get invited to the Stern VIP event felt, well, passed over, ignored, and downright insulted again, setting pin-side podcasts and media posts ablaze with rants and comments questioning why certain folks got invites and other long-time pinball advocates did not. This house is a fucking prison! Unplanned bullshit! In the galaxy of this sucks camel dick! Proving once again that sometimes, no matter how well-meaning you are or try to be, you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. And after all, what pinball fan and media influencer wouldn't want to be stuck in a boardroom with Stern executives like Gary Stern, Seth Davis, George Gomez, or Zach Sharp, all of whom are a treasure trove of pinball information and enthusiasm? These are literally the folks, and I know there are countless others at Stern, including Keith Elwin, John Borg, Brian Eddy, Jack Danger, Dwight Sullivan, Raymond Davidson, Tim Saxon. The list goes on and on over at Stern that as a team, passionately and brilliantly, brought back pinball from the depths of hell that computers, phones, and console gaming had almost banished pinball too. So who wouldn't want to go there and peer behind the Stern pinball curtain? I mean, I know I sure would. And while I think it's awesome that George Gomez sat everyone down and gave a master class on the ins and outs of pinball licensing for hours and all the challenges and intricacies that working with said licensors can bring, I hope that the Stern team that acquires said licenses were taking notes as they sure learned some hard lessons with John Wick as well. Namely, let's flesh out the do's and don'ts of what the licensor will and won't allow before we get halfway down the road on a license where the main character is a trained assassin whose weapon of choice is guns of all types. Maybe you'll want to include that in your opening meeting about how the licensor feels about displaying guns on a commercial device that is often displayed in a public setting so you don't get blindsided by a demand like in this case, no guns or weapons whatsoever on the playfield halfway through the design process. Now, I would have thought that working on some difficult or demanding licensors in the past, like Lucasfilm, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, or even the folks that own the James Bond license, would have taught everyone at Stern a thing or two about navigating these choppy licensing waters. But, you know, I guess there's always new things to learn. But I will give Gomez full credit here. The Stern team actually listened to him on what needed to be done to save this game and made pinball lemonade after being dealt a licensing lemon in John Wick, which kept John Wick from ending up on the manufacturing room floor like the failed Hunger Games machine did that Stern walked away from some years ago. So what does this all mean? At the end of the day, did all that effort on the part of Stern to bring all these media folks down to the factory at, I would say, considerable time and company expense work out? Well, we'll never actually know the sales numbers of John Wick, but I'm going to bet it will, in the end, help things along, even from a Stern image perspective. I mean, these aren't the big, bad company executive types that we've all been used to seeing at other gaming companies. These are extremely personable, passionate, and approachable people doing what they love best, which is developing and manufacturing modern pinball machines. And Stern needs to continue to remember that it's these wonderful folks that keep so many of us pinball fans engaged and delighted with their work and personalities in a pinball hobby that continues to grow and flourish. So I'm going to say that Stern got it mostly right in that they brought enough of the right people from the pinball media down to give them the Stern VIP treatment and let them see for themselves that in fact John Wick wasn't nearly the pinball design disaster that the community was thinking that it was. Now, I say mostly because there were some notable invite misses, namely myself and Dennis Creasel of the Pinball Show, but that's okay, that's okay. Maybe Dennis and myself had other commitments those days anyways, but still, even if you don't need an award for personal affirmation, it's still nice to be remembered and wanted. For the Pinball Show, I'm Craig Bobby. Catch you on the flip side. Well, thank you, Craig, for going over all of that damage control tour stuff. After I said we weren't. Yeah, nicely done. Yeah, well, but you kept your word. We was the Royal We, but not the full Royal We. It was only partial Royal We. Yes, that's correct. But we will talk about Stern Pinball today. Well, we have to. I mean, they are the biggest player in the game. I mean, you don't see American Pinball flying people up to Chicago. Not yet. I wonder if they would. Well, maybe. Maybe with a successful IPO. I made a joke on one of the streams that we didn't go because we had a conflicting date with doing a factory tour of Pinball Adventures, and somebody thought I was serious. Oh, I saw that. Yeah, which I think it was one of the Flip N Out Pinball episodes where Joel was streaming, maybe. Yeah, they were like, oh, that makes sense. I was like, no, no, it's a joke. That was kind of funny. Oh, my gosh. I thought it was clever. I haven't been to Canada in a long time. I've never been. That one would be tempting. But Stern knows where their bread is buttered, Zach. That's true. It's not maple syrup. And it's not buttered by the pinball show. Well, I'd like to think that... I'm the dry toast of content. I'd like to think that a show like ours getting the most listens in the entire industry and the most popular. That's right. You know, numbers don't lie. Only report the fact. I'd like to think, Dennis, that at times there are some entities such as ours that kind of transcend that of a media exploration. But we cannot. Yeah, you guys heard that. I feel your eyes rolling, but it is what it is. But we're here to give production updates. So are there any new updates since the last two weeks? Believe it or not, it was odd. We were supposed to get John Wick Ellie's shipping. Right. And then premiums end up shipping a week or two after that. That's the typical cadence of a Stern Pinball Cornerstone. That was switched up a little bit. We were anticipating the shipping of the LEs. We got a message from Stern saying, hey, guys, just want to give you a heads up. There is a part delay. Rumors were in the back glass, but I don't know for certain. There's a part delay on John Wick LEs. Thus, we have to push those back a week. And in the meantime, we're going to bump up premiums. We've been starting to run those anyway. So we're going to ship out some premiums first. And then we're going to follow up with LEs. They'll be concurrently on the line, so you'll be seeing LEs and premiums ship at the same point in time, which is what we'd seen last week, primarily John Wick premiums. But at the very end, I think on Friday, they started shipping some of the John Wick LEs. So it was about a four-day delay on the LEs. It wasn't bad. So John Wick premiums went out as well as LEs. This week, you will also see John Wick LEs likely throughout the entirety of the week and probably some premiums too. okay well what other updates are going on because those really only impact like 12 people well all right maybe 15 after the damage control tour so they also changed this we just it's it's odd we just talked about this in episode 153 dennis i said john wick going john wick pros going to those uh that do not have a location or a barcade or uh first run locations getting the pros they had to wait until august and i remember you you felt that was a very long wait for them especially if they're wanting to increase some sales of you know i could see if it was like a title that people are just like oh shit we're so backward we're barely able to get into location i get that but when a title such as this has i mean transparently not been that uh i wonder do they do they modify that at all to get some of these homeowners some pros because this is a model and a title cornerstone that I think we're going to see a lot of pro sales. And they updated us. They are taking a portion of those August allotments and orders, and they're going to be producing some of them here in June, likely mid-June, so here in a week or two. That's a lot faster. Yeah, absolutely. A couple months faster, you're going to be seeing homeowners now getting some of those John Wick pros. So that was a big change. we're still looking at Black Knight Pro that Sword of Rage Pro remake or re-release here in June as well June is packed, we've got the Black Knight Pros coming, we've got John Wick Pros, continuing John Wick Premium and LE, mid to late June we're going to see Joel's Pro and Premium models and then they gave us the most recent update that coming in late June into early July we're going to see Iron Maiden Pro and Premium back on the assembly line. I would anticipate the pros of Iron Maiden being towards late June and the premiums rolling into early July. Also in July, they're going to be doing Jurassic Park Premium again. It's going to be more in the first half of July, early July. Jurassic Park Premiums, and as a note, Stern is saying that this is their last build for 2024 for Jurassic Park Premiums. Same for Iron Maiden. Iron Maiden, they're not going to make this year besides this late June, early July. And then end of July, Deadpool Pro. And then that's the last build for this year of Deadpool Pro as well. Now, as you and I discussed in episode 153, it feels like July still leaves some room for something new, but also maybe something old, question mark, so much so that we were featured in a NAP Arcade article indicating that we were pushing towards like a Metallica vault coming. I don't necessarily remember saying Metallica vault, but I know we were talking about Metallica at the same time that we were talking about being a hole in July. Now that Stern has given us an update, listener, I still feel like there's room in July. okay we got oh yeah you're giving me you're saying maybe some iron maiden premiums a small run jurassic park premiums small run deadpool pro a small run that tells me we still got two big full weeks in july for something but maybe i'm wrong i don't know august comes around we saw that john wick pro and premiums runs to be made so speaking of what's to come in july that's the big question right now, Dennis. People are clamoring to wonder what is going on, and they turn to us a lot of times for those answers. We simply don't have them, do we? I think the problem is, I think what it is, we're just so damn intelligent and rationally minded that our analysis is oftentimes pretty point on. You know by now, they don't tell us dealers anything. They don't. No, they don't. Sadly, they just don't. So the big question right now is what is coming and when we are speculating and guessing that we're going to see something in July. We're also speculating and guessing it's not going to be a cornerstone, and it's going to be something that can fit in within a couple weeks, so it feels more vaulty or rerunny that hasn't run in a while. Something a bit surprising, but nothing that I don't think that is just so new that they're going to be building just big bundles of it. And we had discussed something Metallica-related possibly, but also where I leaning personally is a Godzilla premium being remade And a lot of people are like well why is that important It Godzilla Premium They sold a ton of them I think that it could be something different The rumors are like a black and white version, an anniversary edition. Not Ellie. Let the record show. Not a limited edition model. Something that they can run as many as they want. But, yeah, that's the speculation saying maybe an anniversary edition is like black and white. monsters premium ish elvira blood red kiss ish i think that could happen and that's kind of where i'm leaning is uh another run of godzilla premium yeah i think it's a major energy like the 70th or something for godzilla so um that's been my guess as well has been they'll probably do a premium with a different art package lucy edition of godzilla oh and uh the the reason i don't think Metallica is because I truly think if we see Metallica again, we will see some changes. I don't know if those changes are going to be full-blown cornerstone. We're going to get a brand new game entirely based on the IP of Metallica. I don't know if there's going to be such newness that we're going to see it on an LCD screen, different artwork, and maybe just an homage to John Borg's layout. that feels kind of right to me. But essentially, nonetheless, it's not like they're just slapping the same layout on it. I would guess it to be an homage. You know, there's still a new CAD design, but maybe they started with the blueprints from the original Metallica because it's in the whole new system. Right. Then again, maybe it is just a vault and they're just making Sam games again. I don't know. I still don't see the point in Spike 3-ifying these games. LCD integration? I just don't. Why not just make another new game? Meaning what? Instead of vaulting. You're doing all this effort to bring back an old game. If you want to make money off the old game, why not just make a vault the Sam and do it? and then invest your resources in Spike 3 on games that have never existed. Yeah. I just don't think it's worth the – the juice isn't worth the squeeze in my view. I think that if the resources of just doing a quick and simple vault of a same thing, if they've got the parts and they can order the parts and they're familiar with all that stuff, then it will be just that. There will be zero upgrades. It will just be a run of vaults, or I think it will be something entirely different. But I'm still leaning towards the homage of the design and even toy kind of stuff in there. Okay. But we will have to see. And here's my biggest reasoning for this Godzilla Premium anniversary that I think would be something. Maybe there's nothing in July, but it's fun to play it, right? Sure. Godzilla Premium is one of the best-selling games out there. And us dealers have been given schedules. We know kind of what's coming in reference to catalog games, like we discuss here each and every couple weeks. Godzilla Premium, I'm out of as a dealer. That's a problem, especially in a time where I need products to sell. I've got plenty of product to sell, but if sales are slower during the summer months, I really want to be able to sell some stuff if other stuff is sitting. I have Godzilla premiums on order, but it is the only title at this point. Maybe I'm emphasizing a little too much for entertainment purposes, but it's the only title that they haven't told me when's the next run. They would tell us Q4. They would tell us 2025. They would tell something, but it's more of a TBA kind of thing. You see? See, listener? That's why I think maybe they're holding off because they're saying, Zach, I know you have this many on order, but here comes this. You may want to modify that order accordingly. Or I could see them saying TBA because I know you have this many on order, but with this coming out, we're actually doing allotments because we anticipate this selling very, very well. So here's your allotment based on the first run of them. Same thing with Black Knight Pro, y'all. That came with an allocation. It came with an allotment. Even though they can make as many pros as they want, with the run size that they're doing, they anticipate it not being a free-for-all. So they came to us dealers and said, here's what we're allocating you. If you're interested in more, you can always tell us, and then if we can accommodate, we will. But here's – based on your previous orders and such, here's the number that we're allocating. You can always say less if you want to, but right now we can't go over that. We can't guarantee you over that. Does that make sense? Yeah, actually. There's a good logic to that. Okay, so that's why I'm thinking July comes and we might get something Godzilla-related. I think later in the year comes we might get something Metallica-related. And even later in the year, here's the only thing that messes it up for me, though, Dennis. George Gomez has said that Jack Danger is next. Okay. So that throws a wrench into everything. Because we know another cornerstone typically is due in September, October. So if Jack Danger is next, then that means Metallica wouldn't be next. Because Metallica wouldn't beat Jack Danger, right? Are they going to count a, even if it's a Spike 3-ified redo, do you think they count, like, did Gomez count that? See, that's where it's messing me up. I don't know if, that's why I'm kind of leaning towards the homage. It's almost like an outlier, like, well, sure, you know, the next Cornerstone is Metallica. But that's more of an homage to what Metallica is. Sure, it's a cornerstone, but I'm saying Jack Danger's up next for the new title. See, I don't know. I don't know how that works. Maybe Metallica isn't until the end of the year. Jack Danger's up in September with rumors for Jack's game would include things like X-Men 97. So that or Pokemon. That's the that's rumored for I see it being like an X-Men 97. If I were to guess again, I have no clue. And then maybe Pokemon next year. But I don't know. So that's what I don't I don't know. I don't know how they're going to do this. Anything you're hearing any any guesses you have? No, I still think the Godzilla premium anniversary is the most likely. I thought we were going to bring back. No. No, there's only damage with that. Okay, so that was the big question. Oh, Dennis, you love this. This is the big answer. It's the follow-up. New code for James Bond and Jaws. How about that? You love the code. Yeah, I did. Yeah, swiping balls. James Bond, version 1.02. I've got to give kudos to Stern. I've got to give him props for us thinking when a game hits 1.0 that it's done. and James Bond is deep enough, but they're like, no, we're going to keep going here. They've added 20 insider connected achievements in this latest code update, as well as a new feature, a rule called swipe a ball, where you allow the player to quote unlock any of the bird one locked balls that they have accumulated prior to starting that multiball. So using the green lit action button, bam, you hit that to release a locked ball or balls during a multiball event. I like it. It's kind of like a, reminds me of the Walking Dead Premium LE, how you get the Walker Bomb there. But the Walker Bomb is more, no, it's not like that. Walker Bomb is covering a shot, and that shot tends to be an add-a-ball feature, so you hit that right before you're about to turn your last ball, multiball. Yeah, it's just adding a ball. Didn't another recent game did that, I thought. Was it Stranger Things, Swipe a Ball? Think of Stranger Things, which makes sense. The coders are similar, same as James Bond. It's all coming to me. A lot of other additions as well as adjustments and fixes in the newest James Bond 1.02 code update. Jaws 0.9 code update. We are getting there. Not fast, but we're getting there. 0.9. Jaws Multiball Part 3 is an added wizard mode, mini wizard mode, in this game, as well as character combos. Now you can collect all six character combos. There are secret skill shots that have been added. 49 new insider connected achievement and much much more also this last week or two we've seen a bunch of new content that I've been working on or Flippin' House has been working on the Foo Fighters topper videos that I've done people freaking shit on me for doing those $2,000 for that thing? yeah that's because they're so expensive screw you Zach do people get angry at watches? oh yeah Rolex I can tell time with my Casio but do they take their time to like say that like i know you can't go buy it they don't say it to the companies yeah because they have brains that's why they they say it they say it in discussions people will give their opinions about you know the brands they think have marked up prices too much or aren't worth it and yeah you get some that are like the the whole thing about it's a it's a little different in the sense that it because you could always say well i can tell the time on my phone you already like if you're in watches you're already admitting even if you bought a cheap watch you basically bought something that you have a product that could already do the same thing anyway even if it's a ten dollar casio so in that regard you have to kind of already be in it to to care enough to even make that point and then and then there's the there's the debate about you know the small just like we have the boutique pinball companies there are the micro brands that make watches they're like they they're the best bang for buck like you get all the specs and they're way cheaper than the luxury brands but they're harder to resell the quality isn't is almost always inferior it's just a you know you get a whole thing there but what generally doesn't happen is once you go and you buy your seven thousand dollar watch you don't buy a two thousand dollar strap yeah do people sell really expensive straps though yes but okay but they're still generally just within a few hundred dollars even for an exotic leather ones that are limited in nature with diamonds encrusted well if you want to get into like bracelets and stuff people don't but you know it's kind of like buying the unofficial topper versus the official topper uh unofficial bracelets not very popular like straps made out of leathers yes metal no we found that on top of oem toppers uh there was a market for aftermarket toppers in the past. That, if you've noticed over the last two years, kind of died down a lot. Did it? I don't have any context to know how well they do or don't sell. It actually has died down quite a bit. Very interesting. Not to get off subject here, but I've become kind of a snobby whore myself. Let me rephrase. Snobby is a horologist? Sure. one studies horrors yes sorry uh i said that because yesterday i was in a situation social situation where i'm putting my nose up to those with smart watches you've heard it right here on the pinball show i i you know what i lack respect of those not that where the the um the fake watch see i call it a fake watch it's like virtual pinball versus pinball no i i don't i don't like these smart watches because on several occasions yesterday in social situation i saw someone looking at their watch and it it felt rude to me like oh you don't have time for me but what they were doing is they were checking any messages that had come in from their phone like a text message or something or but it does not it does not feel that way to me as the receiver have said look on the wrist. You see what I'm saying? So are you not normally bothered if someone checks their phone on you while you're doing I guess what? Not as much. When somebody looks at their watch, I know that they're saying, man, what time is it? Because this is getting old. But when they're looking at their phone, it's like, oh, so many a cornucopia of things could be occurring for them to check. So that's fine. But just the whole time, who checks the time of what time it is? Only people needing to go to appointments or people that are bored. And if I know you're not going to an appointment and you're looking at your watch, it means you're bored. I mean, it's a fair point that it was a, you know, not to be political, but as a political science major, one of the very famous instances of this was George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton in a debate. And George H.W. Bush looked at his watch and everyone focused on it. And it's like, oh, does he does he not want to be at this debate? Is he bored with this debate? And he was seen as losing the debate and no small part to that action, which was a scene as rude. I just thought he couldn't read an analog watch. But smartwatches are very prolific. Lots of people wear wear them like where I work. Almost everyone who had most people wear a quote unquote watch and they're almost always smartwatches. They're extremely popular. It's fine. Just don't look at it during social interaction. The reason why I don't own one is that I feel like I check my phone probably too much already, and that if I had that, if I had a computer on my wrist, I would be looking at emails and such way more than I already do, and I think I already give too much time to it. Same here. All right. Sorry. I went off topic there. No, it comes up in watch circles. Yeah, a lot of discussion about that. Foo Fighters topper. I was wanting to show off. I was really stunned when I opened up this topper. We had a Foo Fighters LE come in, and I added a topper to it. And I was really stunned by the light show, the choreographed light show. They have not promoted that well enough because I was surprised by it, and I'm the fucking topper king. So I hooked this thing up, and each song is like choreographed light shows, almost like an expression lighting, but in the topper. And I'm like, holy crap, that's so cool. I've got to do a video on this. So I did a video on it, and then everybody just shit on me because it's too much money. I even did. Oh, check out the editing in it, Dennis. It was all in color, and then the background was all black and white. Hey, guys. Also, we see an ASMR video that I did for the unboxing of a John Wick LE. Nothing says beauty like an LE, but why not do it with the detailed sound and audio of ASMR? You're supposed to whisper, I believe. and smack your lips as if you're really thirsty. That's getting a lot of traction. People are some ASMR freaks. I don't know what you all do in your private time, but yeah. And a lot of people made it a sensual thing. They acted like that was a sensual video. No, it was a sound-dedicated video for the rapping and the cringeling. Yes, that kind of stuff. So check that out and share it too. A top three video of pinball features. Top three pinball features of a Jaws pinball machine. Check that one out. And flipping out with friends, Joel did an episode with Retro Ralph and Nudge Magazine talking about that Stern Pinball Media Factory tour. So if you want any info, just go watch that. But I did open up a Jaws in Wickelly, Dennis. You said you were going to. Oh, boy. It's sexy. Mm-hmm. I didn't put my wiener on it, but it is sexy indeed. and I finally realized what they mean by the stained glass back glass. If you watch an ASMR video, you'll understand as well. But if you slide your finger across a piece of glass, you're not going to hear anything, right? Because it has no friction. It's glass. So what they did was, and they tried to explain it to us, but I didn't really understand until I seen it in person. So on the exterior, the front facing of that glass, because remember, listener, whenever they screen print those back glasses, the mirror and everything is on the inside of the glass. So the outside is just a regular glass. But on this, the exterior of the glass is actually almost like a bead of paint. It feels like a bead of paint in gold, and it outlines a lot of the features, almost like a stained glass would, the leading of a stained glass, like the silver or whatever they use for stained glass. But you feel it. You feel the beading of that. And it's really remarkable when you look at it because you see the, even though it's intricate, the depths between the back of the glass and the front of the glass, still it shows some depth there. And it is really striking. So, yeah, the fact is it's fucking awesome. It's really cool. And it's a beautiful, beautiful game. So I'll get some more time on that. I've got a little bit of time on a pro. Didn't get to play the LE much. But yeah, so far I'm really digging the whole John Wick thing. And I will say, we're not going to talk about that CERN factory drawer, but I did like the one thing that came out of it that I was like, oh, that's cool. They were talking about some John Wick beta code that hadn't been released yet, but I loved hearing and seeing this. There's speaker lighting in the LE. It's like expression lighting, but they're coding it to where on the video, whenever John Wick is shooting the gun, the muzzle flashes are mimicked through flashes of that speaker lighting. Yes, I heard about this, yes. That's badass. Yeah, that is pretty cool. So George Gomez, if you're listening, if not, somebody that works with George, tell him that here at the Pinball Show, whoever thought of that, just all you got to do is print out an employee of the month thing. Whoever thought of that needs to be recognized at the next meeting. That's all I'm asking. You don't invite us to the thing. It's fine. At least do that for us. That's that transcendence I was talking about. I think it's going to get mentioned. No. I still can't get them to thumbs up any of my fucking Stern videos. It's a big ass. I like the part where I saw in one of the write-ups from the tour that we're not talking about that they had a place with all the Twippy trophies, but I don't know about the Pinball Award trophies. Yeah, right. Did you not see the pictures of that? No, I didn't look at the pictures. I just read the words, and I just imagined. You know, no need to flex here. But the Twippies were, they were cute because they were like on the outsides of the shelves. And right in the fucking middle there, that's where the beautiful crystals were. Too bad they could never bother to post a social media thing about it. No. Too busy posting pictures of cats. Yeah. Have you had your daily cat picture? This one's under a pinball machine. All right. So that was cool. The muzzle shots, the flashes, that's awesome. Speaking of cool nothing, rings cool like fucking American pinball. Come on. Did you take advantage of that Memorial Day sale? You know, there were so many options to choose from, and then it all just passed me by. Two stuff with barbecue, ain't you? I wasn't allowed to get the barbecue game. No, you weren't. Not for $500 off, no. So American Pinball, in the news this week, NAP Arcade reporting that Amtron Electronics, basically the parent company that owns American Pinball, is in the process of conducting an initial public offering on the National Stock Exchange of India. Otherwise known as the NSE. Wouldn't it be the NSEA? I don't know enough about this. You know, I don't know. So in this article, NAPA is suggesting that the financial numbers, because they have to be, if they're going to the public offering, you have to show all your numbers and all your finances and what you're making each year and after which products and all this stuff. And they're going to do that for American Pinball because it falls within the constraints of this sale or this potential offering. So he read through that and is indicating to the public that the numbers are bad. that they are bad for the last couple of years following the release of galactic tank force. So, but to be fair, it also seemed like in that article that Knapp really didn't understand the data either. So I don't know really what to make of any of the data, but he presented it in a way that was really negative. So it sounds really bad. I was trying to read through the article, but I'm going to be fully honest with you. I don't know how to interpret such data. so the last thing I'm going to do is make any presumptions or any analysis about it because I honestly have no clue. It's very confusing to me, especially when it's from another foreign country. Like, I really – we've got rupee conversion. Nope, nope, I'm out. I have no clue, no clue. But I found that interesting that apparently based on NAP Arcade's article, it's bad, bad numbers. That's what I read. And then speaking of bad, Chris Coolers from Canadian Spinball Podcast, also coming down pretty hard on AP this last week, inferring that the company's lack of financial success is indicative that they are going to be out of business by Chicago Expo. That's in four months. Bad. They're all bad numbers. I don't doubt that their sales have not been great for Galactic Tank Force nor Barbecue Challenge. We've made that inference here. but I certainly am not I certainly don't know the numbers enough to present it as fact either so I don't know what to make with these but hashtag bad that's all I know it's bad well I mean maybe David Dennis would be able to interpret the information for you it's probably fairly standardized for all of these we could bring him back 0.5 episodes and do another 0.5 episode yeah write in to the pinballshow.gmail.com That would be likely to do that. Wow. You know, well, there's a twofold thing here. So without – I did see – I did read this article and – You're not a lawyer and attorney. And I haven't done my own analysis to see if – I think the interpretation made sense to me. I think based off of a lot of things, we've all had a pretty clear sense that I think has been speculative but I think reasonable that they have not been doing great. But that being said, I wouldn't go to the full extent of saying, let's say American Pinball isn't making any money or they're losing money. By all accounts, and this seemed to align with it, Ametron is. And if Ametron is choosing to carry American Pinball, they can carry American Pinball as long as they want. Absolutely. They're not the only ones like this. I mean, we could even say that what would have happened with Stern if they had not gotten their investor group in 2008. Stern, Jersey Jack, I mean, yeah. Yeah Jersey Jacks got their billionaires carrying them It has been argued at least for a while until Guns N Roses did so well And there are other instances where we even discussed the diversification like Multimorphic which doesn just sell the P3 system They sell boards So there are a lot of entities that one could argue is making money HomePin. HomePin is not making all of their money, I think it's safe to say, on their pinball machines. It's their parts. So American pinball, it would be a question of Ametron losing interest in continuing it to me. Not that I don't think it's a surprise to say American Pinball hasn't been doing great on its sales lately. But in a way, it almost doesn't matter if Ametron Corporation continues to want to carry them. So they're not having to stand on their own two feet. So to me, it's a totally different environment. That's a perfect way to put it. So I don't agree that this would mean anything about closing by Expo because it's a subsidiary. Yeah, that didn't make much sense to me either. Nor do I until I know for a fact that a company comes out and says they're out of business. I just like going through the haggis thing. I just I would never report on that because, number one, it just did. I don't want to be accused of being a part of that of that slide if it were to be happening. And number two, I just I don't want to report something that I don't know to be true. That being said, we still discuss, from my perspective, I can only discuss what I know, and that's the sales of certain games. And we're pretty fully transparent about that here, for better or worse. It gets me in trouble at times, but I'll let you know what games are selling and which ones aren't. Speaking of what games are selling, Chicago Gaming Company, Pulp Fictions. Not only have they sold well, but now, Dennis, they're shipping well. yeah we'd like to call that a exceptional transition there yeah it was pretty good they are really on a good pace right now with production of pulp fiction so much so that i was contacted by chicago gaming company this last week and was told that i have another bundle i meaning flipping out pinball distribution company i own and run i have a another bundle of pulp fiction essays that we have backordered that are going to be ready to ship this week. Now, the significance of that, listener, to you would be I wasn't expecting this for another 30 days, 20 to 30 days. So they are running at a really good pace. And the reasoning they told me that my next batch and bundle was ready, it's because they confirmed that that pace, they're comfortable with the pace that they are running right now and it's they're building some games right now so that is what we've come to know at CGC they are the snail but it's almost like a snail on meth once you get that snail his meth you know a year after he's thought of all his crazy plans this is a horrible analogy there's no salvaging this no yeah I don't know another analogy but yeah once once they get the ball rolling a snowball maybe? A slow snowball that's small and it incrementally grows until it's coming and tumbling down the hill so fast that just like a cartoon character you're going to get balled up with and all we're going to see is your hands and feet rolling down the hill. They're rolling pretty good right now. There was a rumor though about a Solzhenitsyn arcade reporting from Mr. Pinball Australia I believe. I think that's right. Yeah, I think it's the individual that sold some of the Bally Williams rights or had – nonetheless, NAP Arcade reporting from them saying – they are saying that we're going to see MMR here soon, here by year's end, but kind of insinuating it could be happening any time now. Another run of Medieval Madness remake, and that excited a lot of people. Oh, that's going to excite a lot of people. Oh, my phone. Bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing. I know you put me on the list back in 2020. Bing, bing, bing, bing. I'm still on the list. Bing, bing, bing. The answer is yes. Every one of you are still on that list. Is that list long? You're damn right it's long. I'm not going to lie to you. But then it runs into, well, based on how many people are on this list, do you think I'll – I have no clue. Zero clue. You know why I have no clue? Well, because CTC has not formally made any kind of announcement about any of this. No surprise. Yeah, so just because an Australian dealer announces this. So to fix it, I thought, well, shit, I don't see – How are they? They're making Pulp Fictions, but then again, they're running Pulp Fictions pretty good. So I did speak with CGC about this, and they deny any recent announcements of these plans. Deny, deny, deny. Yes, but they did tell me they do hope to run another batch of MMRs. They said, sure, they would love to have them rolling off the line this year. They would love that. but they're not confirming or making any formal announcements to do so. They said that they would love it on the line here in 2024. They'd also love if it was on the line in the Q1 of 2025. So there you go. They have plans. That's their plans. They want to do another run, and it feels like they're going to do another run before they do another game. So all is well with the world. But I do feel good about it because if they're running, let's say they're running these these essays are running really good right now let's say they take a break from essays and start running le's in august we'll say august they run all of the le's from august let's say september october november bleeding into november maybe november december they do another se run for the people that still want some and then yeah we are kind of close to December, January, February of running something MMRs again until spring, summer for another announcement of a game. Yeah, I could see it. It's feasible. I just want to know when they're going to run AFMRs. That would be a big moneymaker too. There's lots of money being left on the table right now. Especially if, especially if, listener, Remember, the AFMR is the only remake from Chicago Gaming Company that does not yet utilize RGB lighting. I did not remember that. Mm-hmm. So, you know, if they were to run another batch of, let's say, SEs with the lighting. RGB? Yeah. SE Pluses, maybe? I don't think they're going to make a topper again, ever. Well, we could just, I mean, no one cares about these naming conventions. They'll call it Nessie and they'll include it. They'll include that in the. AFMR Platinum Editions. Oh. Let's just mix all of our words from all our other companies. Germany Editions. They're going to have all the editions. Yeah, maybe. That's what I'm saying. I see that coming as well in the future. They're going to keep running all these that make money, and they all make a lot of money. Jersey Jack pinball makes a lot of money too do they they have a lot of money behind them this is a nap episode typically I always got crusty when people were like everybody just takes twip news and that's all they rely on twip to run their podcast they rely on nap I always was crusty with that because you know Dennis that I don't use that very much you don't I do for EGP I use NAP a lot. Yeah, and I just – I'm in the industry, so I have – I jot down the news as it comes. But this week is NAP Arcade Week. I mean, I like it. I like doing – and it doesn't have to be NAP Arcade. But what I like is to be able to give sourcing so if people want to read more because a lot of times I don't want to describe all of it for a couple reasons. One, of course, is there's – to me, there's little value, and it's almost maybe a little borderline insulting to just regurgitate someone else's work. and use that as my own content. But secondly, there's always other things I want to get to, so I just can't give as much attention as an article could probably give, unless I did a whole episode about it. And that might be something you could do for Patreon people, but just doing one topic and going really in-depth, but it's not of interest to me. Yeah, I get it. But that's a me thing. I'm a peacock. You've got to let me fly. Are you a peacock with me? You're not a peacock. I am. Not after that creepy, tappy-tap, the back glass video. If you're a peacock, you're the female form. They're nice and pretty. They're not flashy. Well, that's really insulting. You're the ugly peacock, Dennis. No, not the ugly one. You're just not. You don't. I'm the peacock with the good personality. I'm telling you. Hey, you know what? You're more beige than hot pink. you're uh you're you're what people like to call pragmatic just like a fucking pregnant you're the most pragmatic not that i was sensitive that comment on social media this last week you're so yeah it's such a pragmatic pimple media person you were it's because you went in thinking you were gonna get your ego am i not pragmatic and you're like so where am i in your top three and then they were like you're not in the top three but they said it much nicer than that they're like I think it was a, Zach, you don't really want to know where you fall on the pragmatic scale, which probably means you fall on the negative end of the scale. Not negative as in that you're a negative person, but negative as in you are an emotional person. What's the opposite of pragmatic? I don't know exactly. Shillmatic? Idealistic, maybe. You want a happy phrase, right? So you're not driven by practical realities. You have a dream. You have a vision for pinball, Zach. I'm a dreamer. You are. Ah, don't chain me down with your chain link fence. I need to roam. I'm a peacock, baby. Yeah, maybe you are more of the peacock. I don't know what a pragmatic bird is. A woodpecker. You've got shit to do, man. Okay, Jersey Jack pinball, sorry. Yeah, making lots of money. That's where we were at. I would take entertaining, but they gave me nothing. nap or nap arcade reporting this last week a rumor that uh company owners the abbesses the abbess family over there that own uh that own jersey jack pinball they were pushing i don't know when they were pushing for a bob marley titled pinball machine to the point of securing the license however nap arcade goes on to say that none of the designers there at jjp were passionate about the theme, so ultimately, they chose not to move forward with it, but unless they were initially pushing for a Bob Marley pinball machine. Now, I don't remember where. I had heard that the owners were big Bob Marley fans. I don't remember where I heard it. I did not know that they had secured the license. Bob Marley's music is very popular, but again, it's one of those things where I don't instinctively think that this is a good pinball machine idea, so that this decision not to move forward is smart. Same here. But, I mean, that's just my take. It would sell units, but sure, but all bands do. But again, what's the biggest problem that Elton John's had? Because I haven't heard a single person who said they played Elton John and thought it didn't play good. It's always been it's two things. It's the price, and then there are people that they're just not big enough Elton John fans, and at the price, they just can't bring themselves to own that theme. That's a good, I think Elton John is right there with a Bob Marley. Yeah. Kind of on the same level that you're ranking the IP there for pinball. I mean, I think Elton's a better play than Bob, but it's tough. Yeah, because of the whole pinball wigs. Because I grew up and I heard a lot of Elton John music. And I just, I don't have the same cultural touchstone back in my history to Bob Marley. I know it's music, but not to the same level. And the poppiness. I just, I heard more radio stations that played Elton John. That's really all it comes down to. But, yeah, I just – It's almost like Def Leppard. Same kind of thing. Like, okay, it would sell, but not great. Not great. No. People like Def Leppard. People like Paul Morrow. I would have probably said that I would have thought Def Leppard would have – if there had not been an Iron Maiden, had it come out, that it would have done better than Elton John would. It's been the whole platform of why we're so popular because we're so pragmatic, Dennis, and we've been saying it for years. Any IP can work, but you have to work so much harder when you pick Iron Maiden. You've got to have the Elwynn check in the box. You've got to have the coding. You've got to have the art. Everything has got to check the box in order for Elton John to work. That's why it works. It is not because of Elton John. It's actually a deterrent in some situations. And we know plenty of people that they're like, they love Elwynn Games, but I've seen a number of them say, I won't own Iron Maiden. Sure. And it's only because of the theme. Yeah. You've got to check so many boxes. I tell manufacturer after manufacturer this, that consult with me. And that's why you have some that I think in that sort of desperation to avoid that trap end up going, well, everyone loves barbecue, right? Oh, no. And they almost go the opposite way. I thought you'd go the opposite way and just overpay for an IP that you know is a no-brainer. That's what I've been recently talking to some manufacturers and really trying to reinforce that with them. Oh, man, this is a whole tangent, but it's such a good discussion. Should we put it on Patreon? Yeah, maybe. It's that there are a lot of IPs out there that will work, and they're well-known, and they have a big fan base behind them. But if I'm a manufacturer in 2024, Dennis, I'm not wasting my time initially on any, I think that could work, IPs. More so than, there's 15 or 20 no-brainer, duh, no-shit IPs. And if, as a manufacturer, that's what I've told a couple of them now, if you're asking me any advice on IPs and you have not went through all of these IP holders, these 20, then you're not doing your job. You have to put an X besides each one of those because they're unattainable or something just does not work for those IPs. Until you've done that, you're wasting your time on these what ifs. I think these are good enough. don't waste your time on those until you've already ruled out all of these no-brainers that will sell products regardless of the other boxes being checked. Of course, they've got to be filled in a little bit, but you're just working so much harder as a company if you've got to check the other boxes because the IP box is, it is in a big old green checkmark, right? I agree. I think these are perfectly decent licenses or these could work licenses. That made sense in 2021, 2022, but we're not in those years anymore. And given the state of pinball sales at this point and where we are seeing the public and their reaction to concern about resale value and all the rest of it, that's just obviously the quality of the game matters a lot more now. And the quality isn't just the build quality and the rules. It's the quality of the theme. So, yeah, you should really – I think you're right. Absolutely right. You've got to roll out the no-brainer themes first. And if there are still no-brainer themes that you didn't take the effort to go to, maybe learn to do your job better. Exactly. You're not capitalizing on what you need to be doing. And if they come back, you know, well, these are three to four times as much as the other licenses we've used. Don't care. Go all in. Go all in on that IP more than anything because you're going to be able to sleep at night knowing that you're going to sell products instead of, I don't know if this toy mech works. I don't know if the code is going to be. I don't know. All of it is kind of a moot point if you nail those no-brainer IPs in my opinion. I do think that they have to, once they see the pricing, they have to factor in the practicality. You could argue there's still a gamble involved. Not that the theme wouldn't do great, but your reputation of your company along with how many you think you're going to build, the part supply. Obviously, there are other things that can end up sabotaging a game. I'm being bold for the case of argument. It's not a total no-brainer, but just because it's more expensive than the license pricing you want to buy shouldn't be your sole reason, I think, to just drop what's basically going to print money for you. But there is a level to it that you need to consider. Yeah, and the other thing to consider is don't get one of those huge IP no-brainer IPs if you're not looking to make a lot of products either. Because then you're going to have to control the cost of that. And if you control your output by cost, then you might piss a lot of people off by raising the price of things. We may see that with Dutch. Who knows if they have it back in the future. Well, and I mean, and of course, be well aware, pragmatic, if you will, with what your capabilities are. Exactly. I mean, because I'm sure HomePin right now is probably struggling mightily with how many Blues Brothers they need to make. And how many can they actually produce? They're making them out of a pickup truck or something. The layout should be good, though. It is stars. Pedretti Gaming. Andrea Pedretti was interviewed on the Kerry Hardy YouTube channel last week. Go take a listen and watch for that. Essentially, some of the things I took away, they're not taking pre-orders for Funhaus. It's kind of a clever little way. So they're not taking pre-orders from the customers direct. That's done so by the distributor. It might be a little semantic-y, but nonetheless, they're claiming that they're not taking pre-orders for Funhaus, so rest assured there. In full production, wow, this is a wow. In full production, Pedretti Gaming is indicating that they can produce 120 machines a month. when i saw that number in these notes that you put together for us i was like holy crap they're that heavy of a producer that's a lot 30 a week that's that's rolling pretty good for a uh i mean not an a-tier pinball company yeah i mean what's what's barrels is right uh they were at do you 25 30 a week so they're i mean similar it just seemed like a lot it seemed like a lot to me as Well, I thought they were a little bit lower than that, and I didn't remember what Spooky's production rate is. I've forgotten what Spooky – reach out to me. I forgot what yours are. I'm sorry. But this feels like it's more – I mean, that's 1,400, 1,500 machines a year. Yeah, okay. So that's like Spooky levels. Yeah. It seems like that's that second tier of pinball production. It seems like it's more than American Pinball does. but I'm not sure. I'm not sure what American pinball can do at full throttle. Oh, that was a highway reference. Full throttle. Interchangeable play field. Pinball 2000 called it once their idea. Because Pinball Brothers uses Pedretti and Pedretti hasn't had to do a full throttle build yet but they've done the aliens. It doesn't really work. Look, I'm a peacock. You gotta let me prag. A female beige peacock. I'm a girl peacock. You've got to let me pragmatic. I don't know. I don't think that works either. I didn't know that. Why can't I be the fun peacock? Believe me, you don't want to be. You don't want the consequences of coming with the boldness of my feathers. You don't want this. You don't want none of this, Dennis. Believe me, it is so much better being the pragmatic, intelligent. Being the brown peacock. Being the intelligent one. The brown peacock. Oh, my gosh. The accusations I get. I didn't know Pedretti needed to make this much but Alien Pedretti makes for Pinball Brothers they're making for for themselves Zero Pin, Pinball, all that stuff so Alien Ripley they produced, I could see them producing 1500 in probably a couple years so that makes sense Ab I don't think is going to sell enough that you really have to make 120 machines a month but now with this Funhaus yeah interesting also out of that interview I took away that parts for the original Funhaus are going to be available in the future Planetary Pinball are going to be providing those so there you go speaking of Pinball Brothers Joel Engelberth, Flip N Out Pinball With Friends interviewed Pinball Brothers CEO Daniel Janson I have not seen this one go ahead listener, check that out on the Flip N Out Pinball YouTube page make sure you like and subscribe that as well trying to build that up Ring that bell if you want to be notified. Ding, jolts, dong. Mr. Jansen discussed the origins of the Pinball Brothers, the upcoming ABBA Pinball and its development, the importance of choreography in Pinball Moments, the responsibilities of a pinball CEO, and what's to come from Pinball Brothers and a lot more. Go check it out. This is the time, Dennis, that we let people know how they can support the Pinball Show. With money. Yeah, not with hugs, not with pats on the back. We want that green. Yeah. And you can do so. But look, it's an exchange of things. You give us green, we give you gold. Man, that's good. You go to patreon.com slash the pinball show. You sign up. The minimum is $10 a month. Come on. I think Netflix is like $40 a month now. Shit. But $10 a month, and you get all kinds of stuff. You're helping support us. You are getting exclusive content that we're about to talk about. You get private discussion in our Discord channel. $25 a month. Hell, then you're jumping up to picking your own topics, having a live video, happy hour hangout every month. $100 a month. Then you're jumping up to like paywall polos. You get your own nickname. You have private correspondence with Dennis and I, with all the juice. None of those guys, they got all the juice they need. They're swimming in juice. That doesn't sound great. Maybe it's like apple juice. That's all right. So go do that because this week exclusively for the Pinball Show members, they're going to get a segment that we've been talking about doing. A lot of people interested in distribution and the inner workings of the pinball sausage, right? You know, we do get a lot of people ask. In fact, I without spoiling the details of our monthly happy hour discussions, a lot of them really do revolve quite a bit around just wanting to know about your experiences as a distributor. Those individuals are equipped with how this industry runs. They really are. Oh, yeah. At this point, they're probably they're probably too well versed. Yeah. They come in with questions like, oh, very interesting. So here's how this works. Yeah. So much so that on our exclusive content this week we going to be discussing my last week or two in pinball distribution We could be cute and call this this week in pinball distribution or twipty Let's see. Dennis, the twipty hashtag too soon. Maybe, maybe call him. We can talk if you want to, but no, this week in pinball distribution, I'm going to, cause I was thinking about it. I was like, what are some of the things I did this last week as a pinball distributor? After like 15 hash marks of what I did last week, I was like, oh, crap. Like there's a lot of different little things I'm responsible for doing or choose to do running day-to-day operations of a pinball distribution company. And they're really interesting. I think people would really like to hear what the hell I did this last week. Some accuse us dealers of simply drop shipping from a big old Indiana Jones warehouse in Chicago. But needless to say, that's all bullshit. that's just but my top men are working on it's not how it works uh so if you actually want to know truth uh and it's very interesting and entertaining as well hop on to our patreon and and i'll i'll give you a rundown and we might do this we might do this frequently this is i think a lot of people are going to like this it could be good recurring content right in though to the pinball show at gmail.com if you're a patron or you could post on patreon when it goes live and let us know because we are looking for feedback on what you like as exclusive content All right. And if we're talking about those members, we got to talk about the gold ones. We got to talk about those peacocks. We got to talk about their goats. They're screaming. They are screaming goats. That's better than a peacock. They're goats. You got to let them floats because it kind of how they walk up mountains. Oh, man. At some point, I will own a goat. No, you will not. You will not. It's almost a promise. I'm basically telling you you'll never own one. I know my wife too well. She doesn't want a goat. Nicole, you don't want a goat for a variety of reasons. Give yourself a donkey. Donkey. Donkeys are fun. I can plow the fields. Oh, donkeys can do so much for you. They'll protect your goats that you don't even have. They'll protect your children. You don't mess with a donkey. I think at some point I will get so tired of people that I will just move out into the middle of nowhere, and Nicole will have chickens, and I'll get a goat for shits and giggles. You sound like, what's his name, Vasili from Hunt for Red October. I just want to live in Montana and raise rabbits with American wife. I thought it was like, hey, George, I like the rabbits, George. Oh. Oh, oh. Tell me about the rabbits. A mice of men. Oh, George. One of the few classic books that I actually think is well written. Oh, is it a Steinbeck novel? I think you're correct. I did the whole, I did the Looney Tunes thing. So it was, tell me about the rabbits, George. I had to find it. I don't know, George. Oh, yeah. Tell me about them rabbits. That was with John Malkovich. Yep. And Gary Sinise. Yep. And then rabbits charge. And yes, you are correct. It is a Steinbeck. Nice. All right, we've got to thank some people. Thank you, Rodney. Little bobcat. You can be on my farm. I'd take a bobcat in. You know, I got this last week. It's going to attack Nicole. Well, our neighbor messaged and she said, get your dogs inside. Get the dogs inside because there's a bobcat in the backyards right now in our neighborhood. And how precious. Thank you so much, neighbor. That's a good neighbor. Message. Get your dogs inside. I don't know her name, but to me, her name is State Farm. Her name was Flo. She's not with Progressive. That's Farmers, isn't it? Was it Jake? No, that's Progressive. That's Progressive. But State Farm's motto is like a good neighbor. Her name is Chris. She's such a wonderful, wonderful neighbor. She said, get your dogs in. There's not only a bobcat, but an angry, feisty bobcat because it's a bobcat mama with her cuffs. Is it bobcuffs? Oh, okay. I don't know. So, yeah, so they got their golden retriever in. We got our mutt dogs in, and everybody was getting their dogs in. But I was looking out. I was waiting. I'd fuck up a bobcat. I was wanting to start a fight with it, to be honest with you. Oh, shoot that fucker! Pull out my carry-hearted gun and shoot it. So everyone in the neighborhood's dogs were, all the dogs in the neighborhood were outside? Well. Zach, let me ask you. Who let the dogs out? The Bahab cats. You see? The Bahab cats. Oh, people, this is a pinball show. I'm so sorry. This episode is terrible. I fucking love it. Going into it, I wasn't excited. There was no news. I know you weren't. But damn it, we are shining right now. I got to thank the Bobcat. I'll shoot that fucker. Thank you, Steve. Would you own bees? I could see you as a beekeeper You know, I've wondered about it But I think the neighbors would get upset Bitch Carol Baskin's next door You know, because people get really scared of bees I got a reference I would own Seems like a lot of work Yeah, that's the thing What is it called to keep bees? A topiast or an aviast or yeah i thought it was like a easter yeah i don't i don't remember exactly don't church it up you're a beekeeper you try not to kill a queen that's what you do apiculturists okay and it was something like that avocadoists or apiarists see they're also known as honey farmers yeah that's right they got they weave gold in another way thank you rob we appreciate your support i do too appreciate your support panther that's one animal i would not farm i'm good with that Keep it in a zoo. What industries rely upon the panther farming? The cologne company. Oh, man. Smells like Bigfoot's dick. Frank, we appreciate your support as well. The falcon. That would be kind of cool to own a falcon, have a falcon farm. I mean, there's a whole sport with falconry. The little things that you put on your wrist and then the eyeglasses you put on the falcon, they creep me out. All that creeps me out. so maybe not and then they fly away but you got them on a leash that shit's weird man but i guess you have to it's like what i think the kids with adhd at the county fair put them on leashes get back here they got like retractable ones now i'll let you go just a little further yep okay we had free range children I was a psychologist I got asked so many times is it okay to leash my child they make these humane leashes now they're like backpacks the ones that aren't hooked onto a choke collar that's right do you remember choke collars for dogs they still use those I swear by those the Germans do i've got one uh i've got one in my top drawer if you know what i mean oh i'm the submissive one okay uh falcon back how did we get to germans with choke collars and sexual torture device okay thank you dave this is off the rails shaker motor farms no no no i just sell the stern ones but thank you for the support nonetheless Dave's got a new game coming in. I'm trying to think what it is. Barbecue? No, no. I won't say it here in case you don't know. But, yeah, he has a non-stern, brand-new one coming in that people are still waiting for. So, very, very cool. Congratulations. And, Joe, thank you. Foxes can't be fenced. So, there's no such thing as a fox farm. I've actually seen people keep foxes. What? Yeah. How? Go search on YouTube sometime. Well, it's like you have to bury part of the chicken wire fencing into the ground. What? But you can basically make a pen for them outside. Huh. Yeah. They do seem to have to inspect a lot because they like to burrow. Do you have like fake chickens on like a line that kind of just runs around the farm that they can chase? No, it's not like farming purpose to them. That would be solely to be that you want foxes as pets because you like what they say. I think you want like fox pheromone. I don't. Charlie, thanks a lot We'll give Charlie one of these ASMRs Thank you Thank you for the continued support And William Is there a Ralph around here? I see the dude running Not a farm, but I can see the dude The character of the dude running More of a petting zoo That is just poorly maintained Not a dude ranch? There's where the joke was Yeah, sometimes they're obvious and sometimes peacocks are too busy flying away from busy fluttering. Back up, motherfucker. I mean, if you're part of our membership, you get more of this. And if you're in ten dollars a month, bump up to twenty five so that you can hang out with us for that monthly hangout coming up. We'll announce that probably next episode. All right. It's almost the end of the show and all great things must come to an end. Yeah. But they also say to save the best for last. Oh. That goes without saying for the pinball shows. Pinball market trends. The Bobcat Techno World. I like your style, dude. Oh, I forgot we were doing that. That's right. I thought we were going to do closeouts. You were prepping to promote some sort of game sale. Nope, sir. Turning up this week is Elton John by Jersey Jack Pinball. Everybody's talked. the community a lot of chatter right now about elton john you've heard it haven't you i've heard some of the chat uh-huh people people continue to and i've had this training up before and it just continues to trend in the right direction hell on the pin side top 100 not that way we hold a lot of weight there but uh on that pin side top 100 this thing has hopped back up from the the The dundrums of, is that a word? Dundrums? I think you mean doldrums. Doldrums of the 20s, the 30s, the 40s. It has crawled its way back up to number five. And I got to tell you people, that is not an easy task to achieve. Once you're down to those top 100, it is hard to make your way back up, but it has in a big way. Sales for Elton John continue to be, I can't call them great. It's an expensive pinball machine. but they are good nonetheless and the more people talk about it the more we continually and gradually just get sales i feel like elton john if they continue to make a surplus of them it's going to be one of those ones that stern has it's going to be a nice catalog game so congratulations elton john and jjp you're officially trending up also trending up this week believe it or not dennis it is spooky pinballs halloween now the data backs it up this data doesn't this bad data is coming Why else would I be trending up Halloween? The number's not why. I only report the facts. Not going to went with something else there. But Halloween is the one game. This is more of a sales phenomenon. For some reason, it is one title that I like taking in on trade as a distributor because it always gauges interest. A lot of non-pinball people will reach out for whatever reason with Halloween. Halloween's as a distributor. I don't know if any other distributors, if you're listening, reach out to me. See if you have the same experience with this. But Halloweens just sell easy. They're easy to sell. Granted, the market for them is pretty low right now. So they're in the sixes, sevens. But damn, every time I get one in, it is easy to sell. So much so that I'm like, should I ask a little bit more for this Halloween that comes in? They sell very, very easy. And it's just phenomenal. And I want to share here on Pinball Market Trends because it is a trend. but not everything can trend up. Sometimes it's got to trend down. And trending down this week, say it ain't so, Stern Pinball's Ghostbusters? Really? What? Are you sure you didn't flip this in the last game? I think this might be data from the Indian pin side, Jeff. No, I'm telling you, Ghostbusters Pro and Primo, not the LE. But I've seen recently, I did my data analysis, and Ghostbusters in the last month has come up quite a bit for sale. The pros you can get for in the 7,000s. That was a 9,000 plus game in COVID times. And I know everything is dropping, but the number of Ghostbusters pro and premium I'm seeing on the market is significantly higher than that of other games around its age. And maybe you say, Zach, that's because they sold a shitload of Ghostbusters. maybe you say zach maybe a rumor maybe some uh some chatter about ghostbusters being vaulted if not 2024 2025 who knows possibilities are endless but yeah you're seeing pros in the seven thousands premiums still holding a nice mid ten thousand to twelve thousand dollar for a premium so the the value of them not necessarily dropping but the number of games being sold is significantly higher. And if that continues, that trend will lead to a lower valuation. Also trending down this week, John Wick mods. Dennis, wow, I know you don't follow mods and stuff. Oh, who cares? I cannot think of a title that has come out with the god-awful worst-looking mods on the market than John Wick. Mod makers. I feel like they're turning into pinball meat you gotta be fast get that story out there are these gun mods they're everything mods they look like crap people gotta get that mod out there get that 3D printer going Suzy get that shit out there to sell man it looks like ass you can tell Suzy slow down it looks bad they're not even thought out they're so horrible i'm just i think what the mod company would like the mod industry's doing here's what happens we see some prolific mod makers come out like stumble or like uh leor in the past i don't know so much now but some of these mod makers are so freaking good so prolific that these other mod makers know that they cannot compete they just know they're not going to put the time and effort and money into it so instead they've got to play the quick game it's the quantity versus quality just so happens pinball shows both let you know it it's not so easy to have both so you gotta pick one or the other and they pick speed i gotta get my yeah like my 3d printed gun mod out there quick is it proportioned right no it doesn't matter get it out it's a hand painted no i'm sorry i'm sure there are some of them that are fine but for the love of everything they're so bad they're so so so bad mod better and I was going to trend down something the rules of trading in a pinball machine I was going to trend that down I'm going to keep that for another pinball market trend because that is a rant that might be a Patreon we need to we need to have some some guidelines we don't need to do anything we really do as hobbyists There are certain guidelines that one should follow. I'll give you a little tease as an example. If somebody inquires about purchasing a pre-owned game or they want to trade something, let's say, I want to trade Game X for your Game Y. If you have yet to establish where the person's Game X is, how Game X will be shipped, the value of GameX, pictures for GameX, or anything besides just general start of a conversation as to what a trade would look like. And if somebody comes in in GameY, they say, I want to buy GameY right now, ready to go. I'll pick it up today. Boom. And you sell GameY. The person that has GameX cannot be mad and threaten the person with GameY. I thought we were discussing. Well, yeah, dude, but damn, we hadn't even established anything. That means if I answer an email, I can't sell game wide? No, that's not. So that's just one situation. We'll discuss further in a future episode of Pinball Market Trends or the club membership on the Pinball Show. And Deal of the Week. I've got to throw in a Deal of the Week. We haven't done that in a while. Buy, buy, buy! We've got it flipping out Pinball, the Machine Bride of Pinball, a game that I think is absolute shit. I hate that game for some reason. People love it. Dennis, are you a BOP fan? No, it's not any fun. Man, people love that game. I just, and it's always. It's because the head in the ball lock is cool. I guess. It's always commanded pretty high prices, too. I had one. I've got one for sale pre-owned for $42.99. Do you remember when Dutch was going to do the anniversary? They redid all of the art and made it, I mean. And nobody bought it. Nobody bought it. You guys were so smart not to do those. Oh, man. Oh, that was ugly. So, so bad. So we have one for sale at Flip N Out Pinball, $42.99. Deal of the week this week, as a listener of the pinball show, I'm going to take $500 off. You've got to mention that you've heard it on the pinball show in order to get that rebate, but it's $37.99. For a nice player's condition, bright a pinball, that's a bye-bye-bye all day long. Bye-bye-bye! And I've been pumped this episode. You pulled it out of me, Dennis. It's all in the feathers. As always, I'm just here to report the facts. I'm going to tell you guys how it is because numbers do not lie, neither shall I, on Pinball Market Tricks. Where can people catch you? Make an email at collectogamerspodcast at gmail.com. That way they don't have to worry about you seeing the nasty, tricksy messages. You're so pragmatic. You don't need an email telling you things that I know already. I want to commend you so much, you and Ron at the Flametail Podcast. You can reach us at thepinballshow at gmail.com if you'd like. Follow, like, subscribe, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, TikToks. Instagram, we've been – people need to go follow the Pinball Show on Instagram and Facebook right now because we're building that up right now. And YouTube, here's – that's just a little tease. Also, you can find me straight down the middle, the video series on YouTube. We asked you recently what you'd like to see from SDTM Next. And, of course, Dennis cleverly said the rubber band episode. We're getting there. Yeah, when are you going to keep your word? I thought I'm getting closer with the ASMR stuff. Like, I'm getting there. What? That has nothing to do with rubber band collecting? It's very niche. It's very weird. It's very out there. I think ASMR is like a huge thing. There was a Super Bowl, like two Super Bowls ago, doing a whole thing where they were tapping the microphone. They sell millions of rubber bands a year, too. Those are popular. Yeah. I don't know about the collector community, but that's where I was going to rely on straight down the middle to educate me, but apparently they're too busy doing basically nothing. Well, we'll see if you do a this or that, because, you know, people always ask for it. They do. They like it. But they're never the best performing episodes either. So it's tough. I understand. Go follow, like, and subscribe there. And I can't tell you enough, Flip N Out Pinball. Go right now. Right during this episode. You can do it during the episode. The audio will still play. Go to your phone and go to Instagram and go to TikTok. Follow Flip N Out Pinball on both of those. Go to YouTube. Follow it there. Isn't that banned? Go to Facebook. Follow it there. I thought they banned TikTok. That's a whole thing. But we're not there yet. So you never know when Flip N Out Pinball, this is your hint. You never know when Flip N Out Pinball will give away a topper for somebody following us. You just never know. You never know. It could be this week. You never know. Speaking of Flip N Out Pinball, they are the sponsor of this very show. When I buy my pinball shit, I buy from Flip N Out Pinball. Truck toppers are for serious. I've got it figured out. Flip N Out Pinball. Figured out. out. When I think of pinball, I think flipping out. Flipping out. Flipping out. When I buy, buy, buy, I buy from flipping out. Thank you, Jason. Product showcase this week is John Wick because we've got premium and Ellie's in stock ready to go and yeah, uh-huh. Yeah, that's right. Free shipping. Yeah, I'm not going to argue with you. Right to your door. We also have a lot of other games in stock. Most of the Stern games out right now in stock. Jersey Jack Pinball's Elton John in stock. Guns N' Roses in stock. Pulp Fictions, hopefully pretty soon we'll have them in stock, but we're taking orders for the SEs. Spooky Pinball Looney Tunes, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, taking pre-orders on those. Labyrinth, we still have some spots left for that. ABBA, still have some spots left for that. Should be getting an ABBA here soon to stream and do some content for. Funhouse Remake, I think I've got three LEs left. Three LE spots. Get it, baby. And a whole lot more. Oh, the next Stern Cornerstone, if you're interested, the next Stern game, if you're interested, we'll put you on a list. Let us know. Toppers, Shaker Motors, Armor, you name it. Flipping out with friends, Joel, I think, is off this week. But next week, he may be, I don't know what to give him. Joel's premium, John Wick premium LE, I don't know. GTF again. These people need to learn something. It's important for all the listeners to understand that there aren't just the bright and colorful peacocks that are out there. They're also the critical peacocks that might be bringing them the games that they love, like The Continental, which is from the world of John Wick, or Yellowstone, or Bel- Oh, wait. That's Peacock TV. That's Peacock- And always practice safe pinball and do work that transcends the invite of the confines of a chain link fence. Just like the manufacturers that I do some consultation with when it comes to IP, this is The Pinball Show. Go big or stay at home. Continuing John Wick Premium in LA. We have, what in the hell was that? Sorry, someone's at the door. Oh, go get it. You're fine. It's that Uber Eats driver. There's that eight-year-old. I'm still bored. It was someone who rang the doorbell and just ran over into the park. What are these delinquents doing? I'm telling you, you've got to move. The countryside doesn't have any of these delinquents. Click, click. I can. Oh, ASMR. Yes. Let me take my drink. Oh, yes. Slurp it. Oh. Wow. I felt the carbonated froth. Yes. Isn't that sick? It's in my lungs now. Yeah. Got the pop lung there. Beauty has a price. Pepsi Zero is the essence of wetness. Oh, man. I think that episode was good. Probably pretty decent.
