Today’s stop on the Summer Arcade Tour (TM) is the World Famous Korean BBQ / Pinball arcade Ayce Gogi.

Translated into English the name of the establishment means “All You Can Eat Beef” or something along those lines. That translation is accurate. The restaurant portion of The venue provides customers with endless amounts of beef, chicken, seafood, sides and on and on...all of which was delicious. So much so that I forgot to take a picture of dinner, so I had to steal one from the Internet. The rest of the pictures in this collection are all mine.

Ayce Gogi is actually divided into two parts, the restaurant and a pinball bar. It is important to note that people under 21 are NOT allowed in the main pinball arcade. This was a tad disappointing as I went there with my family.

While we were waiting for our table I was able to spend some time in the pinball bar. The collection of games there was very impressive, not as much from a quantity standpoint because let’s face it, I’ve been to arcades that have A LOT of games. Ayce Gigi’s collection is more impressive from a quality standpoint.

First and foremost all of the games were in fantastic working order. To me, the playability of games is the most important part of an arcade. Who cares how many games you have if they don’t work right. Not only did the pins play great, but there was some uncommon titles, including the brand new Jersey Jack Willy Wonka, super rare Stern Electronics games like Quicksilver and Cheetah, Spooky Pinball’s Alice Cooper’s Nightmare Castle, American Pinball’s Oktoberfest and, well here’s the complete list courtesy of Pinball Map:

Tonight I played my first game ever of Willy Wonka. It obviously was a fun game, but the game that I actually enjoyed the most was Quicksilver. I would have played Quicksilver all night if I had more time. We also played a ton of Spooky’s Total Nuclear Annihilation and Tron (with a beautiful color DMD)

As an added bonus while we were at Ayce Gogi we met up with one of my oldest friends in the world who lives in LA. A great time was had by all eating too much food, drinking too much Korean beer and wrapping the night up by playing the pins in the front vestibule which were available to everyone.

Ayce Gogi is a must visit for pinball fans who find themselves in the Los Angeles area. Bring your appetite but make sure to remember that the bulk of the pins are in a bar where kids aren’t allowed.
