## Transcript

What's that sound? It's 4 Amusement Only, the EM and Bingo Pinball Podcast. Welcome back to 4 Amusement Only, this is Nicholas Baldridge. Tonight I wanted to talk about Bally's 1955 Beach Beauty. Beach Beauty is a single card bingo. Single card bingo has a 5x5 grid of numbers. That's 25 different numbers and there are 25 holes on the playfield which correspond to one of the numbers on the back glass. There's a 26th hole on the playfield which is the ball return. If you manage to snake your ball all the way down to the ball return, it will come back into play with no penalty. This game also has super cards. Super card is a 3x3 grid of numbers which if you get 3 in a row it scores as 4 in a row and you get the 4 in a row odd reward. This game has advancing odds. You can score anywhere from 4 for 3 in a row all the way up to 64 for 3 in a row. Pinball, 16 for 4 in a row all the way up to 200, 96 for 5 in a row all the way up to 300. If you've been listening for a while, you've probably noticed that these numbers have become fairly standard. This game has corner scoring. If you manage to sink a ball in all four corners of the main card, you get 300 replays. The main feature on this game is Wild pockets wild pockets allow you to spot any number on the bingo card that's fairly powerful but here's the way it works your wild pockets qualified as a mystery reward and that qualification means that you have to sink a ball in holes one through three if it lights the red or if it randomly lights the green then you have to sink a ball in four through seven four five six or seven which can be used in a lot of different In the red or in the green. Now the red covers the first two rows and the first two numbers of the third row. The green covers the last two rows and the last three numbers on the third row. The green appears to be much more valuable. So here's how this works. If the machine lights The red wild pocket. And I sink a ball in hole number two. And I turn the dial to spot, let's say, the number fourteen. Well, two is no longer lit on the backglass. And because I already have a ball in that pocket, there is no possible way for me to earn a two. If I land a ball in number one or number three, it does not give me an extra spotting ability. Franchi exaggerated Franchizusagen Franchi?)text Ning The first make will no longer be active. You have the ability to spot numbers and in some cases you have the ability to move lines and in other cases there are other advantages like 3 scores is 4 or other ways for you to increase your earnings In this case you have to make numbers it gives you one chance possibly to get an extra number you have to think and plan ahead make sure you know uh... that you need that number and then go from there so in my mind this is a fantastic game uh... that has a whole lot of longevity because you will have to think before shooting every ball as I mentioned I'm a fan of those types of bingos and you have to plan ahead, way ahead this game has a lot of strategy compared to even some of the other bingos which they are all very strategic in their gameplay so let's talk about artwork This game has some of the best advancing odds that I've seen. There is a house right on the beach and the odds are actually drawn as if flat up against the wall. There's a boat leaning against the wall which has odds on that. A couple of sailboats which are parked on the beach and there are odds on the sails. A big docking post pointing pasta утары a hardъ T dl Commezu Toin, razz hickey nav Tig teve crimson bol Kita the minute moving up and many many seagulls by K finding can you stick your noseally can you and those who purchase or gift refund the cabinet closes or at least uses a very similar stencil to another beach team game There are a few beach umbrellas in front of the ocean with a sailboat way off in the distance. There's a scalloped red design which scoops around the entire lower cabinet and all the way up into the head. The playfield is alive with activity. There are a great number of women which are hanging out at the pool, at the beach, on a speedboat. One is diving off of a high dive into an alarmingly shallow pool. It looks like most of the water is gone from this pool. So that's a little concerning. But the artwork is pretty fantastic aside from the death defiance. Cl skilled- desk blackwateruckle•tes, So it's another experiment by Bally, and one that I think looks like a lot of fun and will definitely make you a better player. Well, that's all for tonight.
