## Transcript

So what I'm hearing is that the consensus says that if you are a Guns N' Roses fan, then you're going to love this game. If you're not a fan, then it's up to personal preference. No shi- What's up guys, welcome back to my channel where I talk and do everything pinball. So if that sounds interesting to you, then hit that subscribe button. down below. Don't worry this video is not going to be entirely about Guns N' Roses. This is actually just going to be the beginning of it. It's going to have to do with Guns N' Roses and I have a number of other topics that we can talk about. But the main thing that I need to talk to you about Guns N' Roses is what it has done for pinball. This new machine that Jersey Jack has brought out to the masses has really given a spotlight and a lot of exposure to pinball in general now when i say that i'm going to go over some numbers here with you and that should give you an idea of the impact that this title has for pinball hobbyists out there and bringing new people in okay so when it comes to pinball content in general among all of us out there that do content whether it be me or straight down the middle dead flip i can go on and on different people that do content for you like on youtube depending on the content obviously like if it's news related like brand new items a new machine then obviously those are going to get more views if it's older stuff or how-to videos though tend to get less views so let's take it from the point of view of a brand new game gets announced now typically those videos do get the most views on my channel because people are wanting to get the most newest information that's what they kind of care about now a regular pinball related video for anyone out there new or old or veteran or noob whatever doesn't matter If you get anywhere between 100 and plus, that's not bad. That's up there. So 100 views plus, that's how small and niche this hobby is, guys. So 100 views plus, and if you're new, then yeah, not bad. Not bad, guys. Not a bad place to start. Now, if you get 1,000 views and plus, that's actually considered to be pretty dang good. I mean, for pinball, 1,000 views and more, that's considered really good. I think the next tier would be like the 10K range. Anything more than 10,000 views is a milestone. It's like, whoa, that's pretty darn impressive kind of thing. So keep that in mind that 100 views for regular pinball content, not bad. Like 1,000 views is pretty darn good, and 10,000 views is pretty damn impressive. So with that being said, let's take an idea here. Let's take a large license like Marvel, Stern's newest game, or Avengers, Marvel's Avengers, Stern's newest game, and let's just go by view counts solely on YouTube. I've even looked at the numbers on Twitch and trust me they mirror what I'm seeing here only not as high but the difference is still there. So let's look at YouTube strictly here. So it's only normal to typically have the most views on the actual manufacturer that is providing us with the content. So obviously we have Stern Pinball Stern Pinball then you going to have your dead flip because he you know does the reveals and the gameplay so it only natural that they going to get the most views So your top views for Avengers then this is like me typing in Stern Avengers Infinity Quest Pinball into the search and arranging it by highest view count to lowest but the view count is going to get lower and lower as I go further down so I think I don't even show up until right here on my first impressions video and I had like 4,400 views on that so for me that's pretty darn good now let's look at the guns and roses so this is 741,000 views guys now granted this is a like a news station so it's only natural for them to get you know more views than your typical pinball thing but this is also probably got to do something with the fact that it's got eddie van halen in there in the title and stuff like that but in this video it's going over his brand new machine with jersey jack pinball and all that as well as going over eddie van halen and then we can scroll a little further down and it's the same people 94 000 views and then we even get to the original like you know jersey jack video 52 000 views now let's you know look over here at sterns just in case you forgot the stern view count for their game trailer is 20 000 views 52 000 views and i you know a lot of these counts are probably people watching the video multiple times then you have the uh straight down the middle 40 000 views this is more than likely their highest viewed video and and rightfully so uh zach put a lot of work into this and i remember messaging him after i saw the video and i was like dude i i know you did not just half-ass that that was a lot of effort that was not something that took just about a day or so that took a lot of time so and and so it just goes down and down you know the amount of views and everything and uh i think my first one right here talking about it was 6600 views which is damn good for me so the game is definitely bringing in the views and exposure to pinball And this is what we're used to seeing, is what Stern's got right here for this type of license. So it's pretty impressive that we're reaching a magnitude, and I've done all the math here, we're talking like, this game has got over a million views from the biggest channels to the smallest of the small. Guns N' Roses has got over a million different views when it comes to adding in Twitch and YouTube. That's ridiculous. and that's a drastic difference between what Stern usually brings in now granted a large chunk of that is from the WGN news but the point of me bringing this up is the amount of exposure that this game is bringing to the hobby so I think a lot of people in the world are starting to see that pinball is definitely still here and it wouldn't surprise me if we're going to get some new people into this hobby due to this game and that's pretty much all I have to say about Guns Roses in this video because I have still yet to play the game. Now the next thing I want to talk about is Haggis is back. Now this is going to be some of y'all are going to be like so what kind of thing because you don't have any interest in the game that they're doing but the fact remains is that they're back because COVID has shut them down for a long period of time so it's nice to see that they are back in action and they go right back into manufacturing and getting this game out or at least having it available for those of you out there that want to purchase this game so they released a trailer video that shows off like their game the quality of the video is pretty dang decent uh some of the special effects are a little you know okay that not needed i don't think but just showing you what the game looks like and the sounds and the call outs and what how the game shoots and all that stuff and junk now so to each their own on this and what i can really say when it comes to this game is that i am not a fan of this art and i think that's going to be one of the major like downers to this game for a lot of people is the art is kind of it's not pleasing to me uh to each their own but when i look at this I don't like the art but what I do like is that they have made a game that's something that certain people can't say right now they themselves with a small amount of people that they have and production line and stuff like that they have made a game guys and it's for sale and you can purchases so that's a lot further than um you know who so pinball expo the virtual edition came out this past weekend now this is something that obviously we would have much rather done in person i can't believe it's already been a year since i went to chicago to last year's expo it's crazy how much time has flown by and i was hoping to be able to do that again this year but things didn't work out the way obviously due to the whole COVID thing but there was a couple little things that are worth mentioning during this whole thing like not I'm not saying that everything else was not worthy mentioning there's plenty of things that took place in there guys it's just that I honestly didn't get a lot of time to watch it I was busy doing a number of other things so some of the things I'm going to point out I just believe are kind of noteworthy or they're in the news in general so let's just kind of talk about that I didn't even watch my segment about installing PinStadiums on turtles. I didn't even know it aired. It was one of those things where I didn't think I saw it until like the Saturday and I was like, oh, did it even air? And then I had to find out that, yeah, it did. So that was up there for Scott for showing off the PinStadiums. But one of the things worth mentioning is Todd Tuckey from TNT Amusements was inducted into the Pinball Hall of Fame and well-deserved round of applause to you, man. And it's for all the things that you do for this hobby and for the people in it. We greatly appreciate it. And once again, congrats to you on that. And then the next thing that's noteworthy, I guess. I watched this segment because everyone was talking about it. And everyone's all excited that supposedly Stern with Joe Kamikow are doing a Harry Potter. And I'm here to tell you, no, they're not. this is there there's no way because i'm just by looking at their faces and the reactions whenever it was talked about this is a troll move guys and this and joe has done this before when he's talked about back to the future they know what games we want okay and they know how easily triggered we are when it comes to hinting at future or potential titles and stuff like that they like getting us they like stirring the pot every once in a while just to get people speculating and completely throw us off course and not think about what they are actually working on at the time some of you guys out there were really reaching whenever he even said oh we've got a trick up our sleeve and for somehow or another that was correlated to harry potter and i i like i don think that has anything to do with Harry Potter honestly I think it just a phrase that people always say that they got to trick up their sleeve It's a pretty common thing to say. I don't know if there's an actual line in Harry Potter, the movies, that said, I've got to trick up my sleeve. Then I could see the correlation to that. but due to the fact that there's not you're reaching and i do not see them like even giving a sneak peek so obvious and i say obvious because they mentioned harry potter about being unicorn titles and stuff like that they mentioned it if they were actually working on the game i don't believe they would even mention it but here's another thought is that let's say for instance stern did have the license for harry potter i mean would you want them to make harry potter And honestly, I think a lot of you would just appreciate having the title in general. But I don't know if any company could do it justice. But I think if a company could do it justice, it would more than likely be Jersey Jack. But no matter what company, the main issue that you're going to have is licensing and getting all the assets which you're going to need. Otherwise, you're not going to make anyone happy. You're not going to make everybody happy in general, but if you don't have the assets for the films, then why even bother doing it? I think Guns N' Roses is definitely going to spoil us when it comes to assets because I don't think any other license holder is going to be able to give out that much, especially when it's a movie-related type of thing. Because you've got to get actor's permission and all that stuff has to be all licensed out. And you're talking about a movie series that has, what, seven films, seven or eight films or whatever. Because honestly, guys, I'm not a big fan of Harry Potter. I've watched all of them, and I don't get it. I mean, to each their own. But I watched it, and at the end of it, I was a little disappointed. I just felt like that was a very weak fight between Voldemort and Harry. I was like, that's kind of weak sauce. I mean, I was hoping for an actual, you know, battle kind of thing. but i digress i'm not a fan of harry potter i think it's just uh whatever i could i could do with or without the game being in pinball but my point is i doubt very seriously that it's being made right now and if it is it's a good ways away so the best thing to do guys is just to just go okay be nice if they did but move on don't get too excited about it because it's pretty good ways off and that's where I think I'm gonna wrap this video up it sounds like my daughters are not wanting to go to sleep so I'm gonna have to deal with that big shout out to my patreon supporters out there and from what I'm gonna start doing I'm gonna start putting my patreon supporters names on screen towards the end of my videos that way they you can see who is willingly supporting my content I'm still working out things and trying to figure out what I'm going to do when it comes to more to deal with Patreon by giving you content that, you know, being a Patreon supporter that others will not have access to. That's something that I'm still going to be working on, but it is something I'm looking into. If you like what you've seen here, give me the thumbs up guys. And in case you haven't already hit that subscribe button, that way you can be notified of whenever I upload content for your viewing pleasure. And until next time, peace out. Outro Music
