## Transcript

In today's video we're going to be going on location to Perfect Tilt Pinball in Springfield, Missouri to install the Double Tap Edition Pulp Fiction Topper. This is the latest and greatest release from the electric playground. This is their sixth topper released to date last year The electric playground saw the release of their attack from Mars topper that was designed by Brad Brad Albright This one was amazing because it was compatible with both the original Bally Williams title as well as the CGC remakes and this time They've partnered again with Brad Brad Albright for this Pulp Fiction double tap topper Which is great because this double tap edition topper fills a void that's currently out there in the marketplace. Because if you're a Pulp Fiction owner, the only way you're going to get a topper for your machine is if you ordered that bad mother flipper limited edition, you know, top tier version. If you were the special edition buyer, you didn't have any options out there. Thankfully you've got an option out here now and I think honestly a lot of the limited edition buyers are going to be jealous of this. Now this double tap topper is also the first product that has been released by the Electric Playground since they welcomed their newest hire Nick Neitzel to the team. Now Nick was responsible for the Twippy award winner for the best homebrew of the year Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and he brings a wealth of knowledge to the team and in doing so he's helped streamline the install process tremendously. In fact you only have three connections and a power supply that you need to hook up to this topper and then you're up and running. Now the topper itself is affixed to the machine using these supplied brackets and the good thing about these brackets is they utilize pre-existing holes that are already on the top of the backbox so you don't need to drill into your machine you don't need to modify it in any way shape or form but essentially this is going to grab on to the edges the side lips of the topper right next to the included speakers that are on the topper and the front lip of the topper rests on the already raised portion of your backbox so it got a nice snug fit it not gonna go anywhere and you didn have to you know modify your machine in any way shape or form so really cool so one of the first connections you need to make on the topper is for the power come with this nice little light sensor connects to the existing pcv in the backbox but you're going to connect this to the top of the power relay that is affixed to the top of the topper and then this sensor goes on the circuit board in the backbox And what it essentially does is when you turn on your machine it senses the LED that is already on the circuit board and Powers on your topper automatically once the machine has power very handy very easy to use You don't have to splice in any wires no soldering So I really like what they did with this it even uses an existing hole That was in the you know the circuit board on the backbox. So got a hand it to them for keeping it simple Next connection you'll have to make this is the LED cable This essentially plugs into the back of the topper and this is going to snake down through your backbox and go underneath the playfield And you're going to connect your LED cable using this Y splitter So essentially you're going to remove the existing cable connection that is on your circuit board that relays your your general illumination Things like that on the board when you connect it with this four pin Put this on the circuit board and then you're going to connect your other end to the remaining cable and then you have your connection to the topper. And the third remaining connection for your topper is going to be this light sensor. Now this light sensor again is going to go connect underneath the playfield very close to where we had that LED cable but this light sensor is going to slide around the leaf switch that is next to the gun flasher. Now gun flasher or gold watch target whatever you want to call it essentially whenever it goes off during playfield gameplay this sensor is going to sense it it's going to integrate and then you're going to have all sorts of amazing light shows that you would on your playfield happen in sync on your topper and last but not least is you know your power connections for the topper itself now if you have something like stadium lighting already connected to your service port on your machine you're going to have to find your own splitter or you're going to have to use an additional wall outlet it does come with extension cables and connectivity to plug into the service port outlet that way you can connect the power adapter directly to this and you be up and running but again like I said if you already are using that service port access you going to have to find a splitter or a different power outlet And when you first connect the topper to the machine you going to have this nice little startup sequence where you get the shimmering stars and the lights in the diner and you're going to see some explosive gunfire action coming from both barrels to signify that this thing is in a track mode. Once that gets started up you're going to get the full illumination of the play field and everything after about 25 seconds or so. This topper features an industry first, it's got pinball action plus sound effects built into a pinball topper. The built in speakers affixed on each side of the topper will blast a gunshot sound effect activated by in game moments. You'll then see a miniature pinball fire out of the barrel of Jules' gun from the left side of the topper, then travel across the wire form into the waiting barrel of the gun Vincent is seen holding. with muzzle flash light show. I really like that the topper has a built-in volume control for the speakers that are built in. I just think that's nice if you don't want to hear that gunshot over and over and over again you can turn it down or if you've got a super noisy you know ambient environment then you definitely turn it all the way up and really feel that bang. Each gunshot rings out with perfect timing for the exit and entry of the pinball thanks to the built-in opto sensor. The double tap topper provides an awesome audible cue for players when their playfield multipliers ready to collect and is activated via the flasher that sits below the gold watch on the playfield. There are over 650 controlled LEDs built into this topper, and the lighting is synced with the game's general illumination and various multiball modes, giving players a spectacular light show. And you'll see those same exact deep greens, yellow, red, ultraviolet, and hell sometimes rainbow light displays each time you activate the various multi-balls that are in the game. Your topper and your play-full lights will be perfectly in sync for each one, and I have to hand it to them. They did an outstanding job of integrating the light shows and the key gameplay moments with this topper. I want you to go in that bag and find my wallet. It's the one that says bad motherfucker. Not only does it look amazing, it really does function extremely well. Specifically when it comes to activating those playfield multipliers and having that audible cue For something that has a limited scoring display it nice to have that audible cue for a player that way you don have to take your eyes off the action on the playfield Aesthetically, Brad Brad Albright brought in a lot of the most iconic imagery from the Pulp Fiction film into this topper. Front and center you have the Katana blade used by Butch to rescue Marcellus from the perils of the pawn shop. Now the blade on the topper has a nice mirror finish that really lends itself to relay the metallic sheen of the sword. Then Then you'll see the foreboding and outstretched arms of Jules and Vincent looming down on you with their handgun barrels connected via the wireform that symmetrically travels from one gun to the next. Behind them lays the beautifully lit silhouettes of our characters from the tense diner standoff that closes out the movie. Rounding that out, the topper scene is a nice assortment of palm trees and a gradient sunset and the clouds really seals the look of that LA feeling. The stylized newsprint of the artwork I really think does a great job of connecting the vibe with the film and makes this topper feel like a cohesive addition to the already great playfield and back glass artwork. And not to be outdone by those limited edition owners, the electric playground is also including this double tap edition numbered plaque that goes on your apron. Has magnets on the back so you literally just place it right there in the center of the apron and you're good to go. Even has this nice little extended portion right here that keeps it in line and it makes sure when you're nudging the machine and everything that this isn't going to slide or move around. So they really thought of everything with this. As you can see the numbers only go up to 300 because this topper is limited to 300 units. Shipping starts in April of 2025, the first 100 units will be done by July of 2025. MSRP on this is $1,479. It comes with 1 year warranty and lifetime support and if you're interested in picking one up I'll put a product link down in the video description box below.
