## Analysis

Kaneda's Saturday morning live stream was marred by significant technical difficulties (audio feedback, echoing, crackling). Before technical issues forced a restart, he introduced the 'WPD' (Wait, Play, Decide) approach to pinball purchasing as an alternative to FOMO-driven buying, emphasizing that modern pinball has abundant supply. He briefly teased an upcoming Jersey Jack Harry Potter reveal rumored for May 2nd and greeted several community members including Christopher Franchi from Spooky.

### Key Claims

- [MEDIUM] There is no real FOMO in modern pinball because no games have actually been hard to get — _Kaneda explicitly states 'There's not a single game that has been hard to get' and later 'There's only going to be FOMO if there's 500 LE'_
- [LOW] Harry Potter may be revealed by Jersey Jack on May 2nd — _Kaneda speculates 'Are we gonna get on May 2nd, Harry Potter day? Is that going to be the day Jersey Jack reveals Harry Potter?' — framed as rumor/question, not confirmed_
- [MEDIUM] Modern pinball purchasing behavior has shifted from pre-order FOMO to a more cautious approach — _Kaneda's introduction of WPD philosophy and comment that 'this hobby ran for years on people buying stuff before they even played it' but 'times have changed'_
- [MEDIUM] Playing games in every trim and multiple times before purchase is now essential — _Kaneda advocates for testing 'every trim' and sleeping on the decision: 'Play it in every trim. Make sure you want it. Make sure it clicks with you.'_

### Notable Quotes

### Signals

- **[design_philosophy]** Kaneda criticizes Stern's early-access content creation practice where invited creators play games only briefly (few plays) before publishing content claiming games are 'amazing' (confidence: medium) — Quote: 'when I see these people that Stern invited, like they played the game for just like a few plays and they're all making content. How amazing it is.'
- **[market_signal]** Kaneda explicitly challenges FOMO narrative, claiming no pinball game has been hard to acquire; argues scarcity is minimal except for intentionally limited 500-unit LE runs (confidence: medium) — Direct quotes: 'There's not a single game that has been hard to get' and 'There's only going to be FOMO if there's 500 LE'
- **[rumor_hype]** Rumor of Jersey Jack Harry Potter reveal on May 2nd (confidence: low) — Kaneda speculates: 'Are we gonna get on May 2nd, Harry Potter day? Is that going to be the day Jersey Jack reveals Harry Potter?' Framed as unconfirmed question/rumor

What's everybody up to this Saturday morning? Christopher Franchie is here. Welcome to the party, Franchie. It's gonna look, it's going to be it's going to be an interesting week. So, let's do this. Let's go around the horn. Let's talk about all these companies, what they have going on. Let's talk about stuff in order somewhat of priority, if you will. I I think there's a lot of um a lot moving, a lot grooving, a lot of people sort of adopting I think a new behavior and I want to introduce a new concept to everybody. You know, for the longest time it was wait and see. And it's still always going to be wait and see, but I want to change it up a little bit to W P D. All right. So, I want everybody to think about those three letters. WPD should be everybody's new approach to pinball moving forward. I think it's a very positive approach and I think it's something that um will be beneficial to everybody. And what WPD stands for is wait, you know, don't pull the trigger right away. Don't worry. Don't worry. No one's going to take your bottle of milk from you, babies. Like, nobody's going to scoop up all these games. They're not going to be hard to get. There's not a single game that has been hard to get. Like, think about it. So, wait. Then the P stands for play. Play the damn game first. Play it in every trim. Make sure you you want it. Make sure it clicks with you. And when I say play it, play it more than just once. Sleep on it. Go back and play it again a little bit. You know, I when I see these people that Stern invited, like they played the game for just like a few plays and they're all making content. How amazing it is. It's that ramps. So, play. And then the last letter D, then decide. Decide if you need to own it. Decide if you're going to wait for the code to mature. Decide if this is a company you want to support. Decide if John Youssi the value in this pin. And then decide if buying right now is even a smart decision. Wait, play decide. And I think that is the healthiest thing to do. And I think that is the reality of all modern pinball launches now because there's no FOMO really. There's only going to be FOMO if if there's 500LE. Buy it because you want it. Yeah. Yeah, but Balls of Steel, man, you got to admit, man, like this hobby ran for years on people buying stuff before they even played it, before they even knew what was in the game. Times have changed, gang. I mean, it was different, man. You could run at everything. You could run at everything and you'd be fine. Now you run at everything, you got annihilated. There's a weird static noise. Are you guys hearing a weird static noise? Or is it just keep? We went cold on three machines. Sound is popping a bit. Your mic. Okay, hold on a second. How about now? Let me go into my system settings and let me do my input. It's probably my output volume is popping a little bit. How's that? in. Oh, wait. Hold on. Well, that's why. How's that? The input was the um the input was the MacBook. Is that better? Still there. Did I say crackling? All right, let me um What? I'm gonna rejoin. I think my mic was messed up when I joined. So, u everybody just come back here. Check the connections. I don't think I had the connections right. Sounds like the gain is high. All right, hold on. Come right back here. I'm going to end this stream and redo it.
