And you guys, the other fun thing is, check this out, Star Trek, I finally finished up going through and replacing rubbers today on this game, so we actually have rubbers everywhere that we were hoping to have rubbers. And what else did I do? I fixed the plastic over there. I put on one of the pop caps. It turns out that the pop caps are a little bit harder to do because the lights inside try to stick out. Beyond that, I also set up a playlist for this evening with really weird music, is kind of was the theme I was going with. And yes, perfect timing. We've got a cool color back there. And I was just explaining that a really good reason we went with Star Trek tonight was because it's easy to explain the rules. This isn't super complicated. The shots are pretty well laid out, and the lights kind of walk you through how to play this game. Okay. So I'm going to give it a quick walkthrough, and if you want to get over on my right, I'll just kind of talk through some of what I'm doing, and then we'll play a three-person game. So this is one just like your guys's, where it has three flippers, one at the top, two down here. Also notice you can hit it behind the upper right flipper. There's actually a spot for it to go under there like that. I know, totally. I was so happy that it worked Right now I'm in a mode. It's Nero, which is right here. That right there, by the way, is called a dead flip or a dead bounce. It's a way to add control back to the ball. It hits one side of the flipper, you let it bounce over to the other. That is just a great way, and now we're trapping up. I can't do a post-transfer, I think, on this game. So I won't be able to move it from one side to the other consistently. Yes. So what you want to do is hit just that, and it bounces to the other side, but... Oh, it was almost. That kind of worked. Okay, now I'm just playing around. But now I want to hit the lit shots. You can see on the play field here you've got this far left shot, which goes into a scoop. You've got a left orbit, which goes all the way around. Scoop is the little hole that the ball goes into, and it'll sit there, down maybe about an inch. Yeah, and then it's got a solenoid, sorry, a switch. I can't think of the appropriate term, you guys. It kicks it out. Yeah, it kicks it out, and then it shoves it back out. It brings all the time on us on my Star Trek. So I've played pinball three times, I think. Three times. On the older version of Star Trek from Diddy. The first one. First Walking Dead may seem smaller, but there's so much you can do. How do you make the flippers go? the Pinsomniac says, that is funny. I, uh, really quick, I'm going to digress for a second, but check this out. I was at, uh, I was at a, uh, I was at a kid's place in, uh, in Loveland that, uh, that was a bouncy park and it had two pinball machines added to it. And I got all excited. I'm like, oh my God, I get to play pinball and my daughter gets to go jump around in bouncy houses. This is great. And as I'm sitting there playing, I'm actually having a pretty decent game on theater of magic. And there's a group of kids who are just kind of watching me play, and they're like, oh my god, this is amazing, can I play? And I'm like, well, I mean, if you have quarters, you can play, and they're like, quarters, what are those? I'm like, I guess I can put in quarters for you, this kid gets up there, and I'm gonna let this drain, but he starts hitting, he starts hitting the buttons, the quarter return buttons, to try and move the flippers, and he's like hitting this thing, and he keeps hitting the start button, so I put a bunch of quarters and he started a four-person game. And I'm just trying to figure out what he's doing until I realize he has no idea where the flipper buttons are in a pinball machine and how to actually flip it. So to your point there, I've experienced that issue. That was obviously on purpose, right? So the last time I played pinball, which was many years ago, it felt like you could kind control the strength of the flip, if that makes sense? In older games, yeah. You can kind of tap it, and it'll only flip it a little bit. And, oh, Christine, if we can't find a restaurant with a suitably spicy challenge, I just bought 12 cases of the world's spiciest ramen, just over 8 million Scoville units. Oh my gosh, guys, you're killing me. And Bax says, Precious. Okay, we're actually going to start teaching here in a second. You can hit billion dot dot dot star effect. The right orbit over here. Honestly, it's just... Hold on. Houston, we have a problem. That's great. Houston, we have a problem. Oh, they have a problem. Uh-oh. Yeah, it helps. There you go. You actually show the game. Actually, yeah. Let me trap up. Well, so an orbit is a shot that goes all the way around. And there's two of them. Yeah, through the back of the machine. Usually. Sometimes there's like an inner orbit or something. And right there we have like this little loop-de-doop up top that is super fun. That's a technical term, guys. Loop-de-doop. Loop-de-loop, yeah. There we go. Okay, cool. You are welcome. So I didn't complete that mode well. But I'm on Nero. The goal, the first time through to get to the first level wizard mode, is to complete each of these modes. Each one of these boxes here, or hexes rather, it's a hex, represents a different mode. And we just kind of finished the first one. I'm guessing that we got, we'll get to that here in a second, that every time you get to a level, if you complete enough shots, you get a bronze medal. And that means it's technically done, but you got the worst rating. And then you can get a silver and then a gold. Each of those is worth more points and a bigger bonus if you actually do get to the wizard mode. The lock shot. So the goal is basically start a mode, and you start a mode where it says mission start or away team. So I can either hit it under there, or I can hit there. And while you're doing... What does lock mean? I'm sorry. Ball lock means multiball. Yes. Remember? So you lock a ball, and in this case, they're all virtual locks, meaning I hit a shot, and it has been virtually locked. Lock meaning it's like holding a ball for you. Okay? And typically, most games, you lock three balls, and then it gives you all three balls back for a multiball. I see. Right? Not sure if ramps count, but shot into plunger is definitely in orbit. Locked on green light, see him flashing. That is correct. Yep. Remember that. That was last time. That was last time. Okay, so I've got one lock in place right now. I also have this lock lit over there and a mission start. So I'm going to hit that shot, and now I'll get to choose the next mode that I want to start. So you can see I can go destroy that. I can go to near two, save the Enterprise, space jump, plan directive. So I'm going to do destroy the drill. and hit the go. And that's the saucer over there, or the scoop or saucer, whatever. Yeah, we can call it whatever. I know you've got to hit that. Kicked it out. Well, any of the blue lit shots. So, yeah, let's hit that ramp. Can you backhand those shots on the side? You can backhand everything. You can't backhand the lock. I was going to say you can't. But you can backhand the ramps. Okay. So I can hit now any one of those that are lit blue. Or I can miss it. The light always wants your attention. And then the other thing is... Mode starts, blue light arrows, always hit the flashy stuff. That's a lot of information. You all have time? Unless it's Metallica. Always hit the flashy stuff. So you're trying to repeat that same shot? Is that... Sorry, repeat what? If you repeat that, is that... If it's... If I'm not seeing it? Well, first thing I have to do is light lock. So to light my lock, you have to hit that shot over there. I see. There's that. It only has to be a looping shot that can be repeated. It doesn't have to be in a certain place on the... Oh! You could probably bounce off the post and backflip into the mission start. So that ball is stuck right now. It's fine because it's touching one of the pop bumpers. I'm going to let the game search for the ball, and hopefully the pop bumper will kick that out. It has never been locked there before. Cool, that worked. That worked really well. So you never want to get into the habit of doing a death save. On top of that, I would argue that recording high scores and death saving to get there is complete BS. But that's just me. Other people don't feel that way because it is a skill. No question about it. Death saving and surviving is most definitely a skill. But it's one I don't want to get good at so that way I don't accidentally do it in a tournament and get actually disqualified. Or just, you know, not drinking coffee, says Splitronic. Yes!
