**Positive** (0.72) — Enthusiastic discussion of pinball games with genuine appreciation for design and gameplay. Hosts engage thoughtfully with community questions. Okay, you ready? Yep. We're going to throw Alice Cooper in here. How about that? I made my own this or that. No, I did. Made my own this or that. No, it's not. Well, let's hear this this or that. Oh, now I have a this or that. Submitted from Zach. This or that. I have my own this or that. I've already put it on there. I read your mind. I put it on there. Look. It did the life. My brain is the key to my success. And that's what I've been trying to tell you. My brain is the key to my success. Okay. Alice Cooper, Nightmare Castle by Spooky Pinball. or Total Nuclear Annihilation by Spooky Pinball. This or that, Greg? We can't do it. Why? I don't know. This is our show. We can do whatever the hell we want. Why not? I'd go with Spooky. I mean. Well, I think you're right. I'd go with Alice Cooper. Yeah. Over TNA? You don't even know the code? You haven't even played it? No, TNA. You're still taking it over TNA? Yeah, I like the look of it that much. Oh, my God. I think it's exciting looking. I like horror themed stuff. I like all that. I think it's a superb looking game. I think it's neat. I like games like that over TNA. TNA's fast and TNA's fun. But I still like a solid theme. I hate that theme. I hate Alice Cooper's theme. I like it. Theme sucks. Nightmare Castle. The artwork is beautiful. The molding is beautiful. Yeah. The layout feels good. And it feels unfamiliar. Thank you. Yeah. Are you yawning? It's like 12. This or that. So, I would have said Alice Cooper all day long because that's a pin I might buy. I might buy that. We need to get up there and see that pin. I want to get that pin. I agree. But, after I saw Bo and Karen blow up Reactor 9 in front of a crowd full of people. That excited you? He's already done it before. But, no, just seeing his excitement doing it again. was like, maybe this does have some staying power. So I'm going total nuclear annihilation for this one, especially with the co-op mode and the team modes coming up. And Denise is just a master. I do like all that. That's going to be exciting. Yeah. So I'm going TNA on this one for now until we can see. Man, I want an Alice Cooper, I think. And I don't like Alice Cooper. I'd like it. I'd be down with one. All right. Burley9043 and MusketD ask the same thing. A lot of people have been asking this at TPF. I had a couple people ask this. Okay, Zach, you love Pirates so much. You love Houdini so much. This or that? American Pinballs Houdini or Jersey Jack Pinballs Pirates of the Caribbean? We'll say it's an L.A. Talk amongst yourselves. I really don't know. It's really tough. because I don't know. Well, that's not going to work on this show. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy. The price point gets me. Okay, so we got a price point that you have to consider. We've got $7,000 versus $9,500 for an LE Pirates. Are we considering money? Absolutely. Money's everything. Right now, if I was going to buy just because of financial restraints, it'd be Houdini. No, but we're not doing it based on your own financial constraints. We're doing it based on value and stuff like that. So let's say you had the $95 to spend on a pin. Would you still want to save a little money? Yeah, I would. $2,500? I would. Okay, so you're going Houdini. Yeah, I guess so. That's such a cop-out though, Greg. I just don't know. You can't cop out based on money. But it's not just money. Okay, what art do you like better? Oh, I like the... They're both just different. Yeah, they're just different. That's what I'm saying. They're both... We've got to give the people what they want. Very equally exciting pins. And I feel that they're very equal on most fronts. There's more toys in... More exciting toys in Pirates. The ball is thrown up the play field. Yeah, but that doesn't necessarily overly excite me. theater that opens up and you hit it in there and it disappears. It's cool, but it doesn't like, uh, blow me away. It got magnets in the play field I think that nice That a lot of toys Man I don know Which one sounds better I like the pirates. Which one sounds better? I like pirates. You switched it there, huh? I just like the toys in pirates. I like it. It's fun. I always feel I have a good time shooting it. God, I'm thinking. It's a little easier for me to play. I literally, the very first time I played pirates, I thought about selling everything just to get one pirate. So I got to stick with Pirates, man. I have a ton of fun. I have fun with Houdini, though, too. Both of them are very equal in my book. But I just give it over. The movie theme fits my taste a little more, even though it's Pirates and people hate it. It fits my taste a little more. And I just enjoy the toys, man. I enjoy the way it shoots. I like the hidden shots. Again, it's kind of reminiscent of Twilight Zone to me, so I enjoy it. Okay, Pirates. Yarr! All right, I will go... All right, so what do I play when I play the game? The art washes itself out. They're both equal. The themes... I think equal kind of themes. Neither one of them are like a top theme for me, but both of them are ones I'd welcome into my collection. Which one looks prettier? It's kind of a wash there, too, because they both look pretty. Which code do I like better? They're both magnificent codes. I think the coating on Houdini is more my type of code set. So I'll give the edge there. Which shoots better? Pirate shoots better. It just does. That's one of the toughest ones I've seen, honestly. I'm going to own both of them. Oh, poor man. I'm sorry, guys. He's got a hard decision to make. for two fantastic games. I'm going to stick with Houdini for now. Ooh. I'm going to stick with Houdini for now. We are spooked. And the factor does come back down to... The money. Because that's the breaking point for me right there. Yeah, it's a big gap. Hello! Because I think if they were the same price, I'd go Pirates. Yeah. Because that's just a blast of a pin. Yeah. But everything else is matched. I think they're evenly... I do too. That's what I'm saying. It's a very tough. Evenly, maybe top ten pins of all time. It's very tough. It is very tough. Buy them both. They're just unique. They're different. John Sample said Toten, Tales of the Arabian Nights, or Hobbit Smell. I've got to go with Hobbit because I haven't played a lot of Toten. Woo! I have to go with Hobbit. You're going with Hobbit? I have to. I can't. I can't. Tales of the Arabian Nights is one of the funnest games there is. That's what I hear. I've played it. I've put like two games on it. I enjoy it. It can be long ball times. The code's not very deep. So they're very equally matched. Lose. No, it's not. No, it's inversely matched. Code's deep on Hobbit, but it doesn't always. People say it doesn't shoot as well. Yeah. I'm going to go with Hobbit. Oh. How many times are you going to yawn during this damn video? Did you not get to bed by 9 p.m. last night? It's only when you speak. Good Lord. All right. Rip Von Winkle. Rip Von Winkle. He said, for your first pin, would you tell people Star Trek Next Generation or Star Trek Pro? I'd go Star Trek Pro. Absolutely. Dude, we're on. We're in sync today. I like Next Gen, and a lot of people like Next Gen, but it's an older pin. That pin, I've heard, can be problematic. Very. So I think going with the newer Stern. Weighs a ton. Yeah, it weighs a ton. Go with that Star Trek Pro. It's a good flow game. It's going to have fun. Yeah, everybody that comes to your house is going to enjoy it. Star Trek Pro, hands down. And don't forget that Star Trek Next Generation actually isn't fun. I think it's fun. No, it sucks. So that's that one, too. It doesn't suck, but it's just not worth the money. That's a $3,000 pin, maybe, to me. Floyd Maxwell says, Star Trek Next Gen, everybody's on the Star Trek right now. Or Lord of the Rings. Lord of the Rings, easy. Even though you're spending more money. Floyd Maxwell also said, Theater of Magic or Demolition Man. I don't like Demo Man. I'd go Theater of Magic. I like Demoman a lot. Price difference. So what's your Theater of Magic going for? I don't care. I'll pay two times as much. I don't care. Theater of Magic is a lot funner, a lot prettier, a lot better. I'd go Theater. I like my Demoman a lot, but I'd go Theater of Magic. Bad Caller Triple One said, oh, this is interesting. He said, based on kind of themes alone and what we know alone, which can be dangerous, The Beatles and Iron Maiden or The Monsters and Pulp Fiction? I'm not a Beatles fan, so I'm going Monsters and Pulp Fiction. I am too. Look at us. Easily, yeah. And again, it's that monster theme that gets me. Pulp Fiction is what gets me. Yeah. I like that movie. And I think they're going to do Monsters right. Oh, yes. Black Swan over in Europe says and this is more geared towards you probably would you take a new in box Stern Pro or would you take a VirtuaPen cabinet with all the games available and all of the FX tables like the extra ones I'd go with the new in box Stern you got out on the right side of the bed today no I like VirtuaPen I don't think they're bad but I think that unless you've got a large collection that doesn't have a place. It's never going to fill the niche of a real pinball machine. Top of the line virtual pin with all of the games possible and all of the upgrades are a mouse and a round. Mouse and a round. I love this guy today. There is no substitute for physical pinball. A Grand Prix EM. Or all the code sets and everything. I've never played Grand Prix. It's an EM. Yeah, but I like some EMs. An EM or literally every catalog of pinball machines in one place? I don't know. There still something so nostalgic and beautiful feeling about a physical pinball machine Bad Girls Or Virtual Pin Still take bad girls I guess I don know Bad girls is so ugly It's so ugly. That millionaire, that's my breaking point. Or like Raven. I'd probably still go with virtual pins. Unless it's just the ugliest shit show you've ever seen. William Oding. I think that's the asshole that said that he liked you better. After he took a picture with you. You're okay in my book, friend. If it's not, I apologize for calling you an asshole. I think it was William. He said, this is easy. 8-Ball Deluxe or Bad Girls. Come on. 8-Ball Deluxe. Yeah, that's actually a good pick. I like 8-Ball Deluxe. Riz. Our boy Riz. He said, Riz, come on, buddy. We need some better options here. Granny and the Gators or Baby Pac-Man. I'm not going to answer because they're both junk. I've never played either one. Neither one. You don't have to. They're junk. Throw them both off a roof, Todd Tucky style. That's so rude. All right, I'm throwing another one in the arena here. This is one you keep asking me on the damn phone. I'm tired of answering, so these people are going to help us. Lethal Weapon 3, which Greg owns, or Demolition Man, which Greg owns, because he's about to get rid of one of them to fund. Tell them what you're getting. N-A-C-D-C. Yeah, pro. Vault. I'm knocking my enthusiasm there. Pro. So, sorry that you can't afford a beautiful Lucy like sitting in my corner, you pro. No, I'm not saying that. It's just to get a hold of Time Bandit and get them TNT drop targets. Good lord. And ACDC drop targets. What was this? Is that your little Ravenclaw? Yeah. Yeah. All right. I need to hone the bone. So, nobody answered. Lethal Weapon 3. Get rid of that one? No. I'll keep that one. Keep Lethal Weapon 3. Demolish Man is not fun. Well, it's fun, but... It's fun? The code sucks. That code sucks. Lethal Weapon 3 has some substance. No, it doesn't. It does, too. No. Oh, bullshit. You shoot the freaking orbits, or you shoot the freaking... Go through the missions. One, two, and three. Try to fill up the bullets. That's all about one, two, and three. That's shooting your orbits. Yeah, it's cool. It's got different... What's Demo Man got? Blah! Blah! It's got the weakest wizard mode in pinball. It is a really shitty wizard mode. And it's such cool hype. It's like that Johnny Mnemonic power dance. That really cool, the lights are dimming. The lights are dimming. Yeah, and then, you know, the screen's like. You're just like, yeah, yeah. How are you? Another multiball. See, now I have to edit that out. It got to the point. Then I'm going to have to edit it out. is fine. I'm Greg. Adam Horton said, which is the better multiball beginning callouts? So when that multiball starts, which is the best one? Adam's Family, Game of Thrones Blackwater Multiball, Batman 66, are you ready Batman? Let's do it. Metallica Sparky Multiball, that's good too. Aerosmith, That's a no. Star Wars Tie Fighter Multiball? No. You're too fatigued from hitting that damn spot. My number one call out. I was. Sparky is hard to beat, but I'm telling you. Back to the Multiball! Is the most stellar call out and most memorable call out in pinball. Now, if I was going with just all around starting of a multiball, Adam's Family. That's what we're talking about. No, you said call out. I'm just talking about the whole prequel. Presentation. No, there's a difference between your multiball presentation and start versus your multiball callout. Multiball callout, Game of Thrones. Actual multiball starting and just everything going crazy. You can hang around with Lou Ferrigno. I'm going with Adam Sandler. Cover both just to be safe. Okay. No prison can hold me. No hand or leg irons Or steel locks Can shackle me No ropes or chains Can keep me from my freedom I thought it was going to stop Okay So Sparky Multiball is awesome But it's not the winner Metallica Is a decent game, cool game Batman 66 is a cool multiball None special So we're down to Game of Thrones Blackwater Multiball or call out Hammer Thrones actual full on presentation and show Adam's Family especially if you get that bastard LED and it is just cranked up I agree with you thank you I think you're right I think the overall presentation of Adam's Family is one of the nicest starts to Multiball ever fantastic but the screaming of the hound Multiball It's superb. My kids even quoted that. I know. They loved it. It's cool. All right. And last but not least, let's do this. This one's cool. I saw on Pinside. People were wondering, did you have one before we did the last one? No. That was it. You stole it. Read your mind. Bastard. Would you rather have PDI glass, flash and visit glass, whatever. Oh, okay. I know where you're going. Or PinStadium Lights. I saw this and people at the beginning were like, PinStadium Lights suck, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And we're biased because we're sponsors, but we're going to give you the truth anyway because we don't give a shit about... This is my problem. They're similar in price. No. No? PDI glass more? Yeah. Okay, so that's even better. You're going to reduce your glare with Penn Stadium. Absolutely. And you're going to get lighting. With PDI glass, you're just reducing glare. Yeah. I don't think it's... I don't know what there is to argue. I think it's a two-fold. Yeah. You get two for one. Yeah. And you get the flashers. Yeah. I agree. So, yeah, I don't know what they're... To me, that doesn't really but I'm not big on PDI I don give a shit PDI on this I don care I don care I not going to spend that much money for a piece of glass It is a big deal The PDI glass and visiglass Well I think it makes a difference I don say that it don work It definitely makes a difference. But. I'm just saying for the money, it's not a game changer for me for the money. What the hell are you doing wearing a Tupac shirt? I'm sorry. I like Tupac. I like Tupac. Sorry. I was just thinking about it. I was like, he's wearing a Tupac shirt on a pinball show? I got this for Christmas. Are all eyes on you? My Christmas present, man. I'm a huge, like, Tupac Biggie fan. Like, when they, you know, the whole East Coast, West Coast quarrel. Like, I get really in-depth into all that. Don't be throwing up no signs right here, please. I'm not. I'm not. There's a really good show on TV right now about it. What's the sign for Indiana, the gangsters? You got West Coast. What's Midwest? Cornfields and Big Forks. There's the hillbilly pirate for you. Get your sword and your muskets and I'll get my pitchforks. Did you say yar? I think that was your Eric Meunier doing Kevin Jason McNally. Yar! Yar! Mr. Jason McNally, sir! Oh, how great is that brief little... You know what's so fantastic is that both designers that we have worked with, when we went to American Pinball, and Joe Balcer... They gave us both little sound bites. Both had just one fantastic soundbite. Absolutely. A piece. Yeah. We answer the phone. We answer the phone and do the Joe Balcer. Hello. Hello. My wife loves it. She thought Joe was the funniest damn thing to write. And then you got Eric with the Mr. Jason McNally. Yarr. Yarr. It was two fantastic soundbites from both people we visited. So, yeah. I agree. So, I'd go PinStadium Lights threefold. I mean, that's just silliness. I do, too. That's silliness. All right, where do these guys need to check out other SDTN videos? Facebook. Facebook. Well, I guess Facebook. Get on Facebook, man. Like I said this in this previous slow motion video that we shot. It didn't work. That was a good video. It was stellar, superb. So, like, there was people driving around Biggie's SUV. Like, family, to soccer practice and shit. Never knew that they had Biggie's car that he got shot in. What? There was like a hole. There was like a mark in the seatbelt. That was the only thing. And, like, they were driving it around. And, like, the FBI showed back up. It was the FBI. Yeah, I guess it was the FBI. They needed the car to do some more, I don't know, forensic, I have no idea. But they literally needed the car for a while. And that was the only way that the family found out that they had the car. Tupac's car has been passed around. It's been back in circulation and everything. But like I said, they fixed it. They fixed all the bullet holes. And the guy is asking like a million, like five for it or something. Like something stupid. And to me, I think that people would pay that. I honestly do. With the bullet holes. With the bullet holes. But when you remove the bullet holes, it takes all the historical. Just a suburban. You're back to another BMW. He was in a BMW. I was. Black BMW. Yes. Oh, man. Get it together, son. But yeah, that kills it. I don't care. I just don't care. The guys are dead. I still listen to their music. And they're dead because they were in gangs. Let that be a lesson to you, kiddos. You're going to be in a gang. Not really. The greatest escape I ever made was when I left Appleton, Wisconsin. The greatest escape I ever made is when I left Appleton, Wisconsin. That's going to be it for this show. This is Zach and Greg from Straight Down the Middle of Pinball Show. We love you. Get your Tupac on. Get your Tupac on. My ambitions as a rider. That was a good song. And they take me to this place, and I feel like you, a tight ass, because the steakhouse was like freaking $80 for a steak. Oh, shit. I didn't shit myself. I would have shit myself. I would have walked out. I was sitting there and I was like, oh shit. And I was like, I was looking through the menu and she was like, we got a good pork chop. And I was like, pork is cheap, right? I'll take that. Like I'm a vegetarian. Guess how much that pork chop was. I'll get that salad that's $25. You know how much that pork chop was? Probably $30, $40 pork chop. Greatest pork chop I've ever had in my life. Oh shit. Instead of flippers and butts, I'm going to be bumpers and nuts. bumpers and nuts that is alter ego wow a doppelganger I'm gonna be bumpers and nuts okay I'm good with that it's bumpers and nuts here wow thank you for that that was that was great
