## Analysis

Kaneda's Saturday Morning Spectacular discusses the state of the pinball industry post-Thanksgiving. Spooky Pinball's Evil Dead launch is celebrated as a massive success (650+ units sold in one week), while Stern Pinball is critiqued for declining momentum despite the Metallica LE's strong secondary market performance. X-Men is identified as a flawed release due to rushed development and weak code by Weisson, while rumors suggest an upcoming Tron remake by John Borg. Kaneda defends secondary market flipping of rare machines and critiques Stern's lack of marketing strategy and theme selection.

- [HIGH] John Wick LE is selling for $10,000 new in box, down from $13,000 retail — _Kaneda cited specific secondary market pricing as example of value collapse_
- [MEDIUM] Rick and Morty sold 750 units in one day and was slightly cheaper than Evil Dead — _Kaneda used this as comparison point for Evil Dead's 650-unit week performance_

### Topics

- **Primary:** Spooky Pinball's Evil Dead launch success, Stern Pinball's market decline and X-Men failures, Secondary market pricing and value collapse for recent Stern releases, Metallica LE scarcity and collector demand, Rumored Tron remake by John Borg, Code quality issues with X-Men and Weisson's design
- **Secondary:** Stern's marketing strategy and lack of CMO, Upcoming competitive releases (D&D, Harry Potter, King Kong)

### Sentiment

**Mixed** (0.35) — Strongly positive on Spooky Pinball and Evil Dead's success; strongly negative on Stern Pinball's execution, X-Men's quality, and secondary market value collapses for recent releases. Kaneda expresses frustration with community backlash over his Metallica LE flip attempt and uses significant time defending collector speculation. Overall tone is critical of Stern while celebratory of Spooky's momentum.

### Signals

- **[business_signal]** Stern Pinball lacks organizational marketing strategy; no Chief Marketing Officer or dedicated marketing department focused on home collector segment (confidence: high) — Kaneda: 'I think Stern's issues are all because, as an organization, they don't have a Chief Marketing Officer doing it, his or her job. They just need to build a marketing department'
- **[sentiment_shift]** Spooky Pinball experiencing positive momentum and collector/enthusiast goodwill; positioned as beneficiary of competitor (Stern) failures and perceived better creative execution (confidence: high) — Kaneda: 'What a tremendous week for Spooky Pinball' and 'Spooky's stock is everyone else's stock is sort of declining' and detailed discussion of positive community vibes
- **[competitive_signal]** Dungeons and Dragons as upcoming Stern release positioned weakly against Harry Potter and King Kong competitors; theme insufficient to drive market demand (confidence: high) — Kaneda: 'D&D is not a big enough theme. A big enough hit—is not gonna do what Stern needs a game to do right now' and 'if you had to choose between Dungeons and Dragons and Harry Potter, I I think Potter is going to be the much bigger theme'
- **[design_philosophy]** X-Men code described as soulless and uninspired by Weisson; generic open-licensed music and poorly executed battles lacking personality and charm of successful games (confidence: high) — Kaneda: 'Weisson made a game that's a little bit soulless. It's uninspired. The way he does the battles and, like, the music, and some of those battles, gang, it's like—it's like store-bought music that's just open-licensed tracks'
- **[event_signal]** Metallica LE scarcity (500 units) successfully restored FOMO/collector value narrative after John Wick/Venom LE demand failures; secondary market strength validates limited production strategy (confidence: high) — Kaneda documented $17-18k secondary market prices with 'ready buyers all day long' and contrasted with John Wick LE collapse; framed as deliberate Stern strategy
- **[market_signal]** High-priced pinball releases ($13k+) eliminating buyer patience for incomplete software; secondary market value collapses when games ship unfinished (confidence: high) — Kaneda: 'At these prices, nobody has patience anymore for you to get your act together. You can't ask me to spend $13,000 on a game that's incomplete'
- **[community_signal]** Christopher Franchi's transition from Stern to Spooky Pinball art/design role contributing significantly to Evil Dead's positive reception and visual quality (confidence: high) — Kaneda: 'Christopher Franchi absolutely crushed it with the art package, the sound, uh, the callouts, the mechanisms, the topper' and positioned as reason Spooky can succeed with mainstream themes
- **[market_signal]** Secondary market showing meaningful price differentiation between successful (Metallica LE $17-18k) and failed (John Wick LE $10k NIB, $8.5k opened) recent Stern releases (confidence: high) — Kaneda: documented John Wick LE at $10k new in box and $8.5k opened, contrasted with Metallica LE at $17-18k; buyers taking $4.5k losses or gains on same model tier
- **[product_strategy]** X-Men rushed to market ahead of readiness, likely to clear schedule for Brian Eddy's Dungeons and Dragons development (confidence: medium) — Kaneda speculation: 'Most likely Brian Eddy's Dungeons and Dragons wasn't ready. And so we got this' combined with X-Men's incomplete state
- **[product_concern]** X-Men shipped in unfinished state with unfixable code foundation issues; internal Stern sources confirm code was worse during development (confidence: high) — Kaneda: 'The fixes are not going to come. The demand for the game is never going to return' and 'I heard from people internally over at Stern that if you think the code is bad now, like, you should have seen like where it was'
- **[rumor_hype]** John Borg is remaking the original 1982 Tron (not Tron Legacy), with Daft Punk music and modernization approach similar to Metallica (confidence: medium) — Kaneda: 'You can believe me or not: John Borg is working on the new Tron. It is. I I've heard that it is a remake of the old Tron, that that he's just modernizing'
- **[sentiment_shift]** Stern Pinball experiencing notable momentum loss post-John Wick/Venom LE demand failures, with only Metallica LE maintaining strong secondary market value while other recent releases collapse (confidence: high) — Kaneda documented John Wick LE at $10k NIB (from $13k retail), described Stern as 'champion player not quite himself,' and contrasted with Metallica LE at $17-18k

to have you guys hanging out here I know that it's like a food coma kind of week I don't know about you but I'm done with pie I'm done with leftovers I've been just grazing all day long over the last like three days just eating so much I don't normally eat waking up feeling terrible going to bed pretty buzzed on Manhattan's watching uh like cold case or Forensic Files like I gotta stop I got to stop we're gonna talk about pinball we're gonna have a cup of coffee and we're going to go across the pinball horn and talk about everything that's happened over the last week in the world of pinball how does that sound uh there is a lot happening a lot of like the vibe of the pinball hobby is really what I'm interested in I I feel like certain games have such a great Vibe happening and certain games people are ready to give up on Chris it was a great talk we're gonna talk a little bit about Catwoman Edition Batman we're gonna talk about these used game prices we're going to talk about where I think most people's mindset is which is basically I just want a great new game right I think everyone feels that way and for a lot of you out there if you want a great new game there are so many games out there you don't only have to chase new and box in fact chasing new in box as we all know is an absolute recipe for disaster and I think most people know that right most of you out there are absolutely burned if you've bought new in box over the last like four years we're going to talk about some of these prices John Wick new and box 10,000 firm no one's giving you 10,000 firm for a John Wick new and box uh but let's start out this show let's start out with like let's go in order of where I think the major conversation is happening and we're going to start with spooky pinballs Evil Dead uh seems like that game came out a month ago right it's only been about a week how many do we think they've sold uh how successful of a launch was this game for spooky pinball and what have the Vibes been around the game so I first uh want to say that I hope you've enjoyed my podcast around Evil Dead I had a good conversation with bug the other day uh he was very thankful of my last show I think it was very balanced I think it was very fair and I think overall what a tremendous week for spooky pinball what a tremendous launch of Evil Dead and the overwhelming Vibes around the game are super positive I think anyone who's an evil dead fan absolutely loves the fact that they can get this game I think spooky pinball as a company has poured a lot of passion into this game and I think they've sold somewhere north of 650 in just one week really good week for spooky pinball uh a good week for fans of Evil Dead I I think there's just a lot more to like about this game than not like Christopher franie absolutely crushed it with the art package the sound uh the call outs the the mechanisms the topper there's just a lot more to like than not like in the game now hopefully the quality will be there hopefully there won't be Servo issues hopefully nothing goes wrong with the code of the game but all signs are pointing in a very positive direction for this game for this company and once again spooky pinball has utilized a great window between Thanksgiving and the New Year's like they've sort of like made November December their moment to take the stage to release a game and to get a lot of love and to get a lot of non-refundable orders remember there's something to be said about selling 650 plus non-refundable orders on a game nobody has played uh really really good now look if it was a more popular theme we all know this game would have sold out in day one they know that I know that uh it didn't right Rick and Morty sold 750 in one day Rick and Morty was also much cheaper not by much but still cheaper uh here's my thing right now now that they've sold 650 uh if you want one you you just wait it out there is no point right now in being number 650 to 88 what one is it 88 no 888 right 881 was X-Men the thing is this is I see people saying like I'm gonna go order evil dead now and it's going to be a great q1 2025 uh news flash if you order evil dead now you are not going to get your game in q1 of 2025 you're not even going to get your game until maybe maybe the end of 2025 so like you have to sort of be realistic that I just don't think there's a point going in now because as I've been saying by the time they make even just like 300 of these games you're gonna see the next game from Stern you're gonna see Harry Potter you're going to most likely if you're at number four 500 you're going to start to see King Kong from Keith elwin you're going to see Spike three you're going to see maybe the new game from American pinball you're going to see uh what else is coming out in the pinball World a lot of you out there are going to be asked to pay for your Pulp Fiction L we're going to talk about that I don't think anybody cares uh Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is also gonna supposedly start shipping in January I'm not so sure about that we shall see uh but my point is this by the time they get to where you would be there's just going to be a lot more games out there so I think uh you know I I think just at this stage let them start building the games you you also here's the benefit of just waiting now is you're also G to get a lot more feedback about the game itself like right now think about it you've got one gameplay video delivered to you by the company that made the game of course it's going to look great because they make the video um but just wait it out and I still think they're going to ultimately end up selling most most all of them if not all of them again I think that's uh because of the Good Vibes I think it's because of the passion and I think I think everybody else is kind of like dropping the ball you know it's sort of helping spooky stock is everyone else's stock is sort of declining so good job on the launch yes Mr franie I've been relegated to the garage I was going to do the show upstairs but a lot of diapers and killi and screaming so here we are so I think really good week for spooky I think they're also learning I I do think spooky is learning that these sort of horror themes uh are are still not creating the frenzy that we could create if we went a little bit more mainstream so I I do think that if they have like a Gremlins or have He-Man Masters of the Universe or they have something like gii Joe I don't know I'm just throwing out more mainstream stuff I I think they're gonna like just crush it and with franie making the artwork on these games moving forward and and these guys really developing mechanisms and toys and magnets and upper playfields lower playfields hidden flippers like this is pinball this is what Sy ball should be creativity thinking a little bit outside the box giving people a lot for their money and I want to say congratulations to the team over there I think it's been a very very good Thanksgiving for all of them and they seem very thankful uh for the community and I think that's going to go a long way uh they don't need more mainstream ah it's it's uh it you know captain that doesn't make any sense like it does it nothing will change how fast they can make games but the more mainstream and the more popular the theme is brother the more that game is going to hold value the less likely people are to sell it and it's just even more beneficial to Spooky the more exposure they'll get to the larger sort of uh world out there because more people will get excited about a more mainstream theme I look again they're in the driver's seat and and they just really you know really are going to be able to like call their own shots moving forward so Charles Thomas said beas and Butthead and so th this is the truth about beis and Butthead that Stern Pinball had an opportunity to make it but they said it was too risque too risque yet they'll make a game based on John Wick where he murders 30,000 henchmen uh and then makes the game without guns how is beas and budhead too risque last time I checked is beus and buad even are rated and yet you'll make John Wick so I don't understand look I think Stern Pinball let's go to them next because I think the next big story of what's been happening in the pinball space has been sort of like Stern Pinball seems like a like a champion player who's not quite himself right now they if I had to use an analogy they're like Travis Kelce like if you picked Travis Kelce on your fantasy team you were so used to him just crushing it at the tight end position and now the numbers just aren't there he seems like the success has gotten to him and he doesn't seem like he's trying as hard he's not working in the gym as much and he's just not showing up and if I look at Stern Pinball these days I I think they're a little bit like that think they've got you know moments of greatness with Metallica and then they've got X-Men which just seems to be a game that is just continues every week to lose momentum to lose enthusiasm so let's let's go down like what's what's like eating away at Stern Pinball's sort of like uh enthusiasm for their fans so we we'll start with let's start with Metallica real quick hold on let me get my coffee job all right we'll start with Metallica uh now that Canada was like slammed viciously for wanting to scalp one of his metalicas now other people are selling them easily instantly for $118,000 so thank you everybody who was really mad at me for all the hard work I do for legitimately grabbing a spot I didn't cut the line I didn't get special treatment I legitimately bought a game and now I'm not allowed to speculate and I basically took $5,000 away from this family I did you know who would have bought my game some rich guy who's worth multi-millions of dollars and he would not have even cared and I just want to say for the record I'm really disappointed in the amount of people that got mad at me that threat in to quit my show people who give me $5 a month okay so think about that for a minute so I basically sacrificed five grand because people who give me $60 a year thought it was disgusting what I was trying to do even though they they were nowhere to be found when I lost money on other games or took huge hits on other titles I got so I just want to say for the record I'm never doing that again I'm just I'm just letting everybody know that right now that if I legitimately grab a game it's mine to do what I want to do with and if you think that's disgusting Behavior Uh then that's on you but it's a fair game people it's fair game I did not get any special treatment I I bought a game like everybody else it was on a website it wasn't even with the distributor that I ever buy from so I just want to say that all right so I lost $5,000 so just just and if you knew and this is the other part if you knew what happened to me because of this Hobby and the reason why I had to go on a Hiatus and the reason why I had to take my Facebook page down if you knew how much money I lost because of what this hobby did to me not nothing I did myself like someone came after me if you knew how much money I lost you would have understood why I tried to recoup some of that loss by flipping a Metallica so that's my personal story for all the people out there that you have no idea what's happening okay you have no idea and I was simply trying to get some money back for this family because you know when your daycare is 6,000 a month and you have holiday bills piling up you you have to understand I'm going to do what's right for my family so here's the thing now I'm watching people sell Metallica L's instantly for 17 to $18,000 there's there's no hesitation people are buying these things like they are candy uh I would say the going rate on a game right now I think 18 is The Sweet Spot I don't think if you if you try to sell yours for 20 you're not going to get it um I I would absolutely like don't be too greedy but I think 17 to 18 you're going to find buyers all day long uh and again because I think these games are just only 500 it's built on a theme that is Evergreen and it's built on one of the greatest games ever and it's a Lyman sheets Masterpiece that has just been made better so I just think you know 18 you're you're out the door with five grand in your pocket and what it's exciting seeing these guys do this and and for those of you who've sold years for 18 I just want to State this the gentleman buying these games all right you know I I always think about it like this like look if Ed Ed Robertson wanted to pay 5,000 over sticker or Bill Brandis you know it doesn't mean anything to them I think about like my dad made way more money than me or makes has more money than I do if my dad really wanted a pinball machine and having it in his house if the difference in getting it was between 13,000 and 18,000 it means absolutely nothing and I'm just I just want everybody to remember this the people buying these games for the most part let's be honest can we be candid for a minute the people that are chasing after a super hard to get leie that is like for their pinball collection for the most part you are talking about multi-millionaires right people that have at least a few million dollars in their net worth most of them have millions of dollars liquid that they could throw at something so I just want you guys to remember that I don't know who you think you're saving these games for I don't know why you think it's so disgusting you know when I go down the streets in these towns gang it's like the houses like start at like one and a half million they go all the way up to $20 million okay so stop acting like you're on some moral crusade to make sure you know some guy who's been saving his pennies gets his Metallica Le it's absolute hogwash and I think there's it's just you just want it for yourself like let's just be honest and the people that are crying the loudest are are just mad because they didn't get one and they got locked out okay so I just want to say that like you you need to stop pretending like you're doing some moral or ethical good thing by stopping this scalping every once in a while of a rare pinball machine it's actually very healthy for the pinball collecting community that some games go up in value if you try to prevent games from going up in value then you will absolutely destroy the secondhand Market of pinball if all pinball manufacturers try to bake in the second hand price into their games then they will tank the value and they will tank the demand for their products and basically gang we're pretty much seeing that on every single Stern Le other than like Metallica recently okay I just want to like just like like can we have an adult conversation about this because it's it's what we're seeing so when you see a John Wick leie for 10 grand new inbox right leie new in box 10 grand how do you think everybody who bought a Stern John Wick Le feels right now didn't Don buy one he went to the factory right he saw the beautiful trans light and he spent 13,000 on one right the code's not even done and now you can March in and get one and I mean like look a John Wick Al opened with low plays $8500 all day long and even if you ask that for that game it's not not going to sell right away so dudes are taking $4500 losses on a brand new game all right and dudes are making $4,500 on a brand new game and you know what that's just the state of where we're at in pinball so I just want to say look if I had a Metallica Le I'm I'm gonna be serious if I had one I would sell it if I loved Metallica I would sell it and then I would just go get a premium for like and it would only cost you like $4,000 I would change the translite and you're having the same exact experience just add the expression lighting and you're having the same exact experience um but if look if you absolutely love Metallica The only time I would keep it is if you absolutely love Metallica okay all right cool are we cool are we cool like are you guys cool with this like are we talking like grown adults now or do we have to talk like little kids where everyone gets a trophy because I think the world's changing you know not everybody gets included right the whole the diversity and inclusion all those programs out there in the world everyone who's got a Dei job like they know they're all in trouble and so for all of you crying that we should have pinball socialism I think you're going to be in trouble all right Metallica Ellie is the game of the year well there is no longer an award show nobody it would not get voted game of the year I absolutely do not think it would get voted game of the year I I still think it it was an older game that's been remastered but it wouldn't be Game of the Year all right so let's let's talk about the other side of the stern coin so we've got Metallica hit then they've got nothing really else that is exciting people right now I really feel bad for my friend Jack danger the more I watch The Vibes around X-Men the more I feel so gutted that Stern Wanted jack to release this game before it was ready I feel so gutted that Stern stuck weisson on X-Men again and he did it again I just feel like this was one of the most creative layouts in the history of Stern Pinball it's one of the most fun designs ever and it is now being plagued by mechanical problems with the plunger and how the game shoots because they didn't test it long enough it needed a few more months to bake and and then Jim Weisz's code is the ultimate disaster of the game because the game just isn't there and it's not going to get overhauled the foundation of the code is not really where it needed to be and now I think it's kind of over i i g the game's now been out wait like this isn't the the fixes are not coming for this game and everyone can see the writing on the wall the fixes are not going to come the demand for the game is never going to return and it's just going to be like the next kind of Avengers now we like I you know it's beautiful shoots uniquely but it's just never going to get back to having it's never going to have the moment it deserved to have if they had done it right and I feel bad for Jack because like when you're a designer man you pour a year of your life or more into this game and he did and he cares so much and I think it's a learning lesson I don't know why weisson like I don't know I don't get it I don't get it I don't get what he was doing you know I heard from people internally over at Stern that if you think the code is bad now like you should have seen like where it was like I the whole thing just feels like like the I don't know like the the way the code was developing did not sync up with the game or the storyline so I don't know I think it's G to go down as a big Miss it's an absolute gorgeous pin but you know they rushed it and I think what sucks is whoever forced Jack to rush this game out most likely Brian Eddy delayed again he's always like delayed most likely Brian Eddy's Dungeons and Dragons wasn't ready and so we got this and then not helping Jack out was dropping Metallica Ellie right on top of his game at Expo which became the talk of the show so a lot of like just a lot of really I I think marketing mistakes and Manufacturing mistakes that led to an unfinished game and like at these prices G this is the problem now at these prices nobody has patience anymore for you to get your act together you can't ask me to spend 13,000 on a game it's incomplete the music isn't there the the excitement of the modes is not there it's just not there it's it's coming across as like shallow incomplete and and then add to the mix all the mechanical issues and it's like such an it's like I think people are just like I'm just going to avoid it for now and and that's the biggest problem is it's not just software right and so if it's broken as Chris is saying here and doesn't work right why would I go get one all right gang I need to take a I need to take a I I usually don't do this I need to take a little bit of a quick bathroom break I think it's just this coffe running through me I'll be right back don't go anywhere and we're going to tack on this this missing time to the end of the show all right hold on oh almost took off my side VI we're back I'm back oh thank you we oh we gain people I should go to the bathroom more often ah did I wash my head you know you're um you know you're a parent when you walk into the living room and Killian's like what are you doing I'm like I gotta go Kaka all right all right so here's the thing here's the thing X-Men I I just think it's like it's just not going to come back anytime soon uh Stern sort of did it to themselves rushing this game out and I just think it deserved it it just doesn't have can I be can I be candid it just doesn't have the magic it doesn't have the magic from the moment you hit that start button that code just just doesn't graas you and you know it's got this really cool layout and there's like all this potential like what a game with so much potential and I just think weisson made a game that's a little bit soulless it's uninspired the way he does the battles and like the music and some of those battles gang it's like it's like it's like it's like store bought music that's just open licensed tracks like it just doesn't have the soul the personality uh that it really needed to have and so here's the problem with Stern is like by the time I don't know they figure out maybe some ways forward you're going to be on two more Stern games so speaking of more Stern games gang uh you can look you can believe me or not John Borg is working on the new Tron it is I I've heard that it is a remake of the old Tron that that he's just modernizing so for those who think like it's not going to be based on Tron legacy it's not gonna have daf punk I think it is I think it's going to be a re-release of the iconic Tron machine and I much like Metallica and he's he's been working on it the same way he's worked on Metallica and with the success of Metallica how did all these people just join did I just hit some like did someone just share this somewhere with the SE success of Metallica I mean it's a no-brainer that Seth Davis and George Gomez are are gonna do the same thing with Tron and I keep telling people this I keep telling people this if you have a Tron Le right now you've enjoyed it for over a decade you could probably get now 177,000 for it see the problem with Tron II owners now is I think it's worth like 21,000 uh you know what kills me is like there's a guy Batman SLE he wants 37,000 or best offer what's what's happened to people really what's happened to people so like I keep thinking about what's next from these guys because here we are it's almost December and X-Men came out a while ago and all the rumors are that it's going to be Dungeons and Dragons from Brian Eddy and Dwight Sullivan and I just want to say gang Good Luck Good Luck DND D is not is not a big enough theme a big enough hit is not gonna do what Stern needs a game to do right now uh I just think D and D is gonna kind of come and go quickly for a few reasons is that we all know that elwin is after that with King Kong and we also know har Potter is right around the corner I mean if you had to choose between Dungeons and Dragons and Harry Potter I I think Potter is going to be the much bigger theme I I just I just don't think this is it I I think Stern is gonna get caught now with their lack of market research is catching up to them and I think they're gonna like I think they're GNA struggle and I think the the way out of this Quagmire for them is is going to be to like re-release older games but you know again then they're burning the old owners I I don't know like I I owe Seth a followup I did talk to George and Seth I gave them some interesting ideas I have a lot of thoughts gang I'll tell you this right now I mean I'm gonna be completely candid completely candid I I think Stern is Stern's issues are are all because as an organization they don't have a a chief marketing officer doing it his his or her job they they just they they need to build a marketing department and and because I think what people don't understand is like a marketing department is is not what you think when it comes to pinball a marketing department in pinball is making sure that they're getting you the right themes for the market they're also able to think about themes that may be being overlooked that would just translate so well into a super successful pinball game I just don't see it I don't see it I I think Stern's marketing has been Jodie is it Josh or Zach Sharpe over there I always I always forget which one's is it Zack over there which sharp is over at Stern you know and so it's Zach okay so Zach is over there so like Zach is doing marketing for the audience that is attractive to him which is more of like the tournament player and the operator like I don't see Zach do you ever see Zach connecting I mean this do you ever see Zach connecting with new and box home buyers anywhere do you ever see Zach doing a Facebook live like talking to people who buy his product do you see anyone from Stern really you know kind of reaching out to you guys who have been buying you know hundreds of thousands of dollars of their product I I just I I and again like I'm gonna go back to Seth this week and and look for me it it's just it's simple because I know Seth wants to build a marketing department it's just like look man if you want to do it right I would help you guys do it right but I I don't want to just be a PR guy on the side giving you like ideas that no can execute uh because I do think like when you get the marketing right in the pinball world to me the marketing needs to happen well before the the end product right because because if you do your marketing properly and and again it's not just the games and the theme selections if you do your Marketing in the right way you won't have to do any of that other work you won't have to do any of that other work because you will have made the right decisions and the things will just work hard for you uh and that's what is exciting to me and again I I don't know you know I'm going to I'm going to just I'm just GNA throw it on the table for them if you want to get a a guy who's got a 25 years experience in marketing and launching products and Brands and and understanding communities and culture I you know I'd be happy to explore what that might look like with Stern Pinball but again you know just just um we'll see and I know look I know know their their hearts are in the right place I mean this like I I actually really enjoy uh Seth I really enjoy George and Gary I think they're very very smart businessmen and I think they just are at a Crossroads I I mean that they're at a Crossroads and I think they need to sort of figure out how to embrace who they are as a company and how to act Embrace who Their audience is and I think they're I think they're kind of acting a little too like you know future proof our industry 10 years from now and I think they're making moves that are gonna really hurt them in the next two to three years which they can't really afford constant misses I also just think they're they're out of touch with who's always going to be their target audience but it is what it is right all right but you know look again not I I don't think it's unfixable I I think they're just at a Crossroads and I think that over the next two years Stern Pinball needs to really wake up you know and they need they need more professionals over there I I when it comes to the marketing department again I mean like Jody they got like Jody Zack and Jared like and I don't even think the three of them even like get along or you know collaborate on anything right how is Jared still over there like I mean they're like and you're paying these people money I feel like I don't know I just don't get it that's not like they Stern should be operating on a marketing level with more polish and Swagger than they do okay so here is the thing everybody here's the thing let's talk about Jersey Jack next how's that sound uh Black Friday deal the, off I look I I don't have a problem with games going on sale you know I've been saying this for years you're gonna have to Discount old games if you want to move the inventory so like I don't know it weird for anybody to be like ah you know this sucks they're putting games on sale um I think what I found interesting about their sale prices is how off they are from the market value of the games no game more so than Guns and Roses I I just think a Guns and Roses Ellie is now selling new in box for $6,500 okay and I I can point you in the direction of a distro who will probably take that cash on the table if you have it okay so let's let's not pretend like G&R is a $110,000 pin a $9,000 pin an $88,000 pin it it's not okay so that one makes no sense the $1,000 off the one that was most surprising to me wasn't there $1,000 off a Avatar Le when I saw that I was I was worried about that one because to me that's the biggest mistake they're doing right now and correct me if I'm a wrong gang but didn't they offer avatar for 11 from 12 like they took a thousand off yeah so Ryan just said the random video clips and call outs killed it um so here's the thing okay so so Avatar was not part of the Black Friday that was at iopa okay thank you for clarifying before um it's um it's a it's a I just want to say this about Jersey Jack and you know me I have a lot of feelings about Jersey Jack and Brett abbis you know I had a great conversation with Brett abbis you know I talked to Brett abbis we were talking about cars I was telling him how much I love this car this car was about you know with tax and everything this car is about $40,000 I I asked him what his his most favorite car is in his collection and it's a a Shelby original Shelby AC Cobra that he I think he got for 1.2 million okay so just just remember that the abbis family is in it like they're in it and I just the most Anno annoing thing to me is when people say that Jersey Jack needs a hit or else there is no or else there is no moment in which this company will struggle to survive the amount of money they have the pinball operation is peanuts people it's peanuts it's like if someone W were to go into your sock drawer and light all your socks on fire and then say oh he's not going to be able to wear any outfit anymore like this means like they they make more money on interest off of their money than they could ever make with Jersey Jack pinball annually so I just like want you guys to realize that as long as they want to be in it it is it is now here's the part that I am confused about and I know everybody is confused about guys stop saying billionaires don't want to flop after flop it's like you you have to understand the dynamic of this company that Leonard has made Brett the president isn't Brett the president of jjp if I was Leonard if I was a billionaire and Killian didn't have like a career or you know if Killian was just into something and I and I bought Killian Stern Pinball because I'm billions gang like that's like that's it it's a father hooking up his son with something that they're into like it's just you you guys don't you don't quite get I I don't know you guys there there is like wealth and then there's like insane like generational wealth and it's just it's different it's different for folks like that they they're doing it not for the money trust me they're not doing it for the money so I I think what's unfortunate for Jersey Jack is uh that they haven't had more hits and with a seemingly huge financial backer they then don't get all the assets they don't get the right themes they don't get the right games out you know there's there's two things is company has going for it the money of the abuses and the relationships that slash could bring now I'm not sure they even utilize slash enough but man everybody loves slash if you need to get Kurt Russell's likeness in Big Trouble in Little China like have slash give him a call be like hey Kurt man like here's the deal like I I know you guys have your licensing deals and all these things but here's the deal like you you should immortalize this movie in pinball form the way I did with Guns and Roses this company like can you give them permission like it's like every every impossible to get celebrity can give you permission if they just want to you know and I just don't think they utilize him enough to build the bridges obviously the relationship between Leonard and John landow led to Avatar but I look I think this compy is um is is uh you know just really just I I think it's just fun to watch Jersey Jack it's fun to watch them sort of continue to like just like I don't know like not progress yeah I I think there's no better way they haven't made a better game since guns and roses and and for those of you who are saying Elton John's the better game BS then then Elton John would have sold 5,000 units Elton John would have sold 6,000 units Guns and Roses has sold probably five times more games in Elton John you know so like oh but it's a better game so don't give me that don't give me that because most people just don't want they don't want to see Elton John they want to see Axel and slash they want to see they want to hear G&R so like they haven't made a game as good as Guns and Roses since Guns and Roses no it would not it would not sold Chris you're out of your mind you think if Elton John was $3,000 less they would have sold another 4,000 units you guys are you guys are like Bonkers I don't I don't do you think someone who has nine grand doesn't have 12 are you guys like do you got like what world I mean come on guys like let's be honest can again can we have a big boy conversation here when you go to take money to buy a pinball machine I know you're looking at liquid you're a liquid area of your finances where there's tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of dollars to go buy your little toy and to think that like thousands of more people would buy Elton John if it was $3,000 cheaper no you're wrong absolutely not they just don't want Elton John they just don't want it come on gang come on I'll go buy Brenda $3,000 pair of Chopsticks today if she really wanted them I mean it is not a deal breaker gang and I'm not not even rich I'm not even rich and I'll do that you you Elton John is not selling because people don't really want Elton John they don't it's it's a fun game it's just not like it's not as cool to own as Guns and Roses gang do you remember the launch video of Elton John versus G&R whatever you know like gang if $10,000 is a ceiling for you you're in the wrong hobby now around you guys how's that the ceiling you're not going to get anything heck spooky is now like $122,000 uh Anthony you get the spooky game with the topper and with the butter cabinet you're at 125 I I you guys are like I I mean I I don't know what to tell you like cuz you know I don't know I don't know what to tell you look the thing is this the thing is this let let me ask you guys a question do you think they're going to mess up Harry Potter I mean to me Harry Potter is everything man because like when I talked to Eric he was like this is my dream theme this this is the one like Eric's been answering homework assignments on every game even Guns and Roses Eric Minor is not a G&R fanatic he's not a Godfather fanatic he wasn't a Pirate of the Caribbean fanatic but he told me that him and his girlfriend or is it his wife I think I I forget his partner and him they love Harry Potter now he didn't say Harry Potter he said they love the next theme I love the next theme so much all right all right all right all right but then I got a little nervous because the next thing he said to me after he said he loves the theme so much he said the game plays really fast and I was like oh okay um like like wide open and empty Fest or like a quidd kind of game going on you know allaha Star Wars hyper drive or hyperloop you know what I'm saying like I was like a little nervous because playing fast sort of indicates might be kind of empty and I'm just worried that this game could be a lot of switch and muted clips and if that's the case then you know I I don't know you know it's just like it is what it is I mean again again when was the last time I I mean this when was the last time Jersey Jack like exceeded our expectations when was the last time they came out with a theme you wanted and just nailed it and just made the code fun made the game inviting didn't hand you a diner menu of rule sets like Avatar when I look at that Avatar rule set I just I throw it over my shoulder game's done this game's never gonna be fun it's never gonna be fun because the stuff that Keith P. Johnson put into that game like the Journey of that game the fact that he went that nuanced it's it's like he failed he failed to capture what Avatar is all about Avatar is all about trying to protect your planet and the emotion of the na'vi feeling like their world is being pillaged and raped by these humans and what you know what that loss of Planet feels like to them like the game doesn't deliver that on any level you know you know what I'm saying like they miss the forest the bioluminescent forest for the trees the whole game is Just devoid of any of that Soul any of the passion and any of the real theme that is that you need to make people feel when you play the pin it's like there's nothing at stake and then you're just collecting all these dumb notes that people don't remember and you're battling dumb crab suits that people people don't remember and none of it comes through none of it feels like anything's happening none of it's wow none of it's wow you know so it's like okay cool cool spend all the effort on the topper and on the armor and you know nothing nothing in the world just doesn't work it just doesn't work all right so like Harry Potter the word on the street is we're going to see Potter in February or March so um that's coming up fast people it's going to come up faster than you realize uh and can let me let me just say this I want to be blown away by Harry Potter I hope I'm Blown Away by Harry Potter uh I've lost all faith in Jersey Jack pinball though to do that the ball's in their Court to do it uh if you have a guns and roses and you want to alter your monitor let's talk about that for a minute yes I did it yes it's easy to do yes there's like a secret menu you can get to if you have a guns and& roses like an older Le or a CE it is so easy to do you just hit the power button turn the monitor off then you hold down the menu button and hit the power button okay and then let go of your fingers and then tap the menu button and it will open up a black window in the upper left section of your monitor you then want to scroll down to where it says page and it has a zero you want to change that number to one and then hit enter by the way enter is the menu button then when you get to the first page so there's like basically two pages zero and one you then go to the back lit number which is set at 50 and you lower that number to 35 save it exit out then go to the main menu and change brightness to 90 contrast to 100 and your guns and& Rose's display will all of a sudden look phenomenal the blacks will be deep black the contrast is twice as good as it is out of the box I can't believe we've all had this game for four years now and nobody has known how to do this until now so I'm not sure who the gentleman is on pinside who figured this out but thank you for doing it and it makes everybody's Guns and Roses look phenomenal all right let's go on let's talk about Dutch pinball how about that uh look do we think Alice's are going to be on the line in the next two months I hope so I think Melvin's got some coding to do he needs to make the game like like he needs to wake up the game more in the code he's already done cool stuff I've talked to him he's at it you know a lot more ways to get to the upper Playfield I think he heard that feedback at Expo it was just too hard to get up there there's now going to be like skill shots where you can get up there right away I think you're gonna have a lot more fun with the physical stuff in the game because he's going to change uh the ability to access that stuff more often I think that's a smart move I also think he uh like he needs to dial in more of the sex appeal of the game into the code you can have like these voluptuous beautiful sexy like like images all over the game and then none of that's in the code so I think they got to get more of that in Alice stole the show again at the Australian expo well look I think people line up for Alice because they're curious uh is it sold out I don't know I heard there's still some available in Australia I like I'm still in on analice at the end of the run it's a safe place for me to be uh I I just you know again I I think we're gonna have to see games going out in January to feel good about the schedule otherwise I'd be a little bit worried that it's just going to take too long so there was a naps arcade story and I and I talked to Jason this week and love Jason nap I love his page uh apparently there was an interview right I think Don went to aapa and interviewed David fix uh who was told that cupheads are on the line all right I mean look if if a man's gonna say that and he runs the company I can't dispute it I mean I didn't see a picture of them on the line I have a hard time believing that um actual production has begun of cuphead I I think knowing the track record of how they talk I would say that having a couple pre-production games being assembled is not indicative of a pending launch or a reveal I don't know what window they're waiting for I I don't and you know that's all I'm going to say I I hesitate to talk talk about this company for obvious reasons I think they're um I I think this is it like I think they either need to get this game out and it's a hit or there's there's no there's no way forward they they've put every older game they've had on on a fire sale I and people forgot too that the the signature addition of Galactic tank force people forgot that that game originally was priced at $17,500 I I think now the sale price is like 125 or something or 115 I don't know um yeah I just um that's it that's all I'm going to say about American pinball uh has anyone got their multimorphic Princess Bride collector's edition that has the the swords attached to the cabinet wasn't that game revealed like a year ago I I how many games of I I you know Jerry's making these kits but where the games it's really hard to follow some of these like Niche Boutique companies because it just doesn't seem like they've got much movement happening on a production level uh speaking about much movement on a production level I don't know about you but who here even cares about Pulp Fiction Laie anymore it just it's like where is it where is it I I don't I don't I don't get anyone who is is still gonna go in on it I I don't I I don't I I don't know what they were thinking uh Twilight Zone remake is coming from them and so is more Medieval Madness games Chicago gaming company just again like another like whatever Enigma can't get their uh execution down and I think people are just kind of over it Turner pinball do we know when he's gonna get those ninja eclipses out the door I think Chris is probably gonna make it about like what like a few a week a handful a week four a week make these over a year been killing it on my pul fiction for seven months laughing at Le owners waiting yeah no it's um it's the same exact game it's the thing too is like I there's absolutely you're not going to have a better experience on Pulp Fiction uh my garage is heated it has a heater in the ceiling that I just turn on but now it's comfortable now I think you can see it let's see that's a heater this woman did everything great it it's cold out there today um look gang I I just want to say you know I've been reading pinside a lot I've been hearing a lot of uh feedback from people I've been seeing the the used Market continue to just offer up kind of like anything you want I I think it's a buyer Market I don't think it's sellers Market unless you have Metallica Le and a few other rare machines I just think um I think show of hands gang how many of you are just starting to re-evaluate your consumption levels I want to talk about this for a minute because you know as it's like Black Friday yesterday and this like stupidity driven overc consumption world we live in where companies just want you to think you're going to be happier if you buy more of something and stuff you don't need and I think what's happened a lot for for people lately is your credit card bills are much higher than they've ever been before things you used to enjoy doing the the cost of them is is skyrocketed and it's everything it's your car insurance it's your grocery bill it's your at the gas pump uh you know none no none of us are making 40% higher wages and I've noticed this it's like like the painfulness of inflation of like six years ago I'm basically making what I'm making now like marginal increases in wages and yet if every year inflation's been around like 7 to 10% over that period in time I I'm significantly less wealthy than I was back then and it's led me to make a lot of changes in my life like first and foremost I will never walk into a store anymore and buy any article of clothing at full retail I just won't uh there's just been an explosion in secondhand resale finding friends who work for places that get discounts and also just probably the number one thing I've been doing is just I have enough I just I I what more do I need I've got an 10 outfits for every occasion so there's that right so and then when it comes to pinball I I think like a lot of you are probably just really content with your game rooms with the amount of machines you have um you you've witnessed a lot of people that you know lose a lot of money over the last four years games are now being put up for sale by manufacturers the secondhand loss on prices is is astronomical the last time we got a you know an appropriately priced Stern Le it was Godzilla Le Jersey Jack has just priced itself out of the market for most people there's look there's a lot of wealthy people in America there's a lot of people with a lot of disposable income but man most people can't afford to buy like a pinball machine or two a year if they have other expenses and their wages haven't gone up and you know we're looking at you know a super high real estate market the cost of of child care is astronomical the cost of college is astronomical and and just every little thing just chips away and that's what I've notice right it's it's not like the big purchases anymore it's every little thing now is just adding up so that when your monthly statement hits you you it's like everything is just so much more than you thought it would be and the hardest thing in life is to adjust your lifestyle uh in in relation to the inflation of the world uh and so that is why you know when you ask me like what I'm doing with my money I'm paying this car off instead of getting another pinball machine the what I owe on this car is the same amount that a jersey Jack CE is so I think I put down like 20 something thousand on it and I'm just going to pay it off so good done no more car payment for this the demon fully paid for we sold our New York City Apartment fingers crossed we've got a contract signed all of that is going to go against this mortgage and then then only then only then will will Brenda and myself uh be back to having much more cash flow a month than debt only then until then it's like man buying these pinball machine stupid but it's hard it's hard and and you know the hardest part for a lot of people and and I know a lot of you probably think about this is you know tomorrow is not always going to be as good as today and how much do I put away for tomorrow you know buying all these things and and overc consuming all these things I think there's a level of like weird um arrogance in pinball that will just keep buying regardless of what they price these games at you know Distributors are are friends of ours but I think they think like I I don't know like the good times are just going to keep rolling and I don't know I don't know it's also just like when you think about the amount of money people have locked into pinball machines how do some of you not look at well I should have just bought Netflix stock if I had just bought Nvidia if I had just and these aren't like like if I just bought like S&P 500 if I just put my money in better places you know as much as we say that pinball machine is a good investment it's really not the same way like car people do this like my demon was not a good investment it was 86,000 it's probably now worth like a buck 10 it hasn't gone down in value but man like that's five years ago if I had invested $90,000 in anything decent I you know be I'd be half a million by now 300,000 at least um it's just the way it works uh I think the demon 170 is uh a stupid car I think Dodge is bankrupt and I think their new electric EV muscle car is going to bomb I mean they talk about like people think they can just charge whatever they they want to charge $83,000 for a Dodge with no V8 in it they want they want to go after the very audience that hates EVS by making an EV muscle car offering no internal combustion option it is GNA bomb so hard it's slower than a Tesla that costs $30,000 less and it makes no sense when you think about it like that so what was the point you took away all the visceral fun of your product the only thing that differentiated you was you were you were ignorant to all the Eevee garbage and you were making fun cars and everyone loves them and you're going to destroy it because you got sold to like with stellantis yeah they destroyed the company they destroyed Maserati they destroyed Dodge um it's it's they're G to go they're going to get liquidated and then someone's going to buy Dodge and then go back to the internal combustion that's what's going to happen yeah I mean the Europeans don't know how to make American Muscle Cars I feel like Trump should just buy Dodge Elon Musk could just buy gr86 it's um this is a great car you like you look I look at this car I'm like you can have no more fun than this it it weighs 2800 pound 220 horses it it slides around the street like a go-kart and it looks cool it's not emasculating like a Miata so like I got the best of both worlds I got the I do I have the best I feel like I have the best cars right now for where I'm at in my life I've got the KIA Carnival which I love it as a minivan it's so practical with the kids it looks great for a minivan I've got this for just around town and then I've got like the demon for like you know just moments I want to go out and just have a crazy throw but I'll tell you cars are headaches too you know I just went to get the brake pads changed out on these because I put ceramic brake pads on it because I was so sick of all the brake dust from the brembos if you have Brembo brakes on your car in stock form they make so much dust and then I put just these little I'll show you like splash guards right here just little splash guards right installed because they had the tires off to do the brake pads just I gave them the Brak pads I gave them the splash guards just to do that install was like almost $300 I'm like what what like it took them over two hours I'm like and I was watching them the guy is just like walking around the garage he didn't know what he was doing like I'm like why did why am I paying for over two hours of service that should have only taken an hour at most like they they don't know how to change brake pads at a tire brake shop I don't know but again it's like you know it's a pretty specialized skill set and I don't know how to do it and you that's why you pay for it but you know it just when it all adds up so next time you guys want to tell me I can't flip a pinball machine to put a few more thousand dollars in my pocket I'm doing it I'm doing it in fact I'm just going to set it at the highest price Metallica Elite 21,000 firm how you guys feeling I went to the gym today I I I've encouraged each and every one of you have you guys been taking care of yourselves like like forget pinball for a minute how have you been taking care of yourselves have you have you guys been working out are you um are you getting out there exercising three days a week four days a week pretty soon oic's going to be a pill right when that happens everyone's just popping pills I see it everywhere man it's like the the shortcut the the lightweight shortcut is the is the multi-billion dollar thing now I mean people just want to feel good I guess I guess you know who am I to tell them not to do that I I think it makes people look a little weird though because it you get that like o zenek face it just you start to look like a little zombie I also just like food too much all right so Chris Lou wants me to talk about Catwoman addition okay so we had a nice discussion yesterday about Batman 66 and how the ver he said the version everybody wants is the Catwoman Edition now I still argue that like look an SLE is going to have the most value because of its Rarity but we all know that when Stern first made the Le's and the SLE of Batman that was when they stopped working with Church Hill so the cabinets were crappy the playfields were crappy they dimpled really bad they were thinner wood um and apparently Batman 66 when it was a later run like the Catwoman Edition used better wood they sort of tweaked a little bit some of the layout so it shoots much better and so the most satisfying version of Batman to play is the Catwoman Edition so Scott congrats on on losing that 5 pounds uh and so like Chris was saying that the cat Edition is super sought after know like he's not wrong there's there's none available for sale there's none you can't find a Catwoman Edition now I've never liked the Catwoman Edition because I don't think it looks like a Catwoman Edition Jim congrats on losing 25 pounds brother keep up the good work um the my issue with the Catwoman addition is they they really didn't go the full Catwoman on it she should be on the cabinet she's just on the backbox and on the translate they pushed her forward but nothing else about the game screams Catwoman to me I've been getting to the let's see I've been getting to the fat the last two years like what uh man trying to read some of your guys statements about your weight loss is it look I think people love talking about this stuff too I think um you know we're all on a personal journey and you know me I'm I'm more about feeling good than I am about owning more pinball machines Batman did another run of premiums in 2021 with Insider connection um look I think Batman's gonna come back I I think they will do another run of Batman I here's what I think is gonna happen I think Stern's gonna put these older games on Spike 3 with bigger screens and upgraded sound and upgraded lighting and I think when that happens gang and we start to get like Spike three premiums of Batman and Ghostbusters and other games heck they're going to do Godzilla on Spike 3 eventually I think look I think they're going to spike three at all and I think it's just gonna like you know it's again it's going to reward those people who are new to the party or those that waited or again because like you think about it like you're a guy like Chris and you want you would spend $112,000 on a new Batman 66 if you could find one somewhere but you can't and there's hundreds of people that are in that boat they just they can't find the product and I think when they put these games into the new platform they're easy to Port over to the new platform I I think we're going to see a lot of that you know Batman cons you know continues to be a very polarizing game I get it I get it uh I I think it's a game with so much personality that and I I don't know how you can have a ton of fun playing Batman it's just it is that much fun I look I love my Guns and Roses gang I know people are like oh why' you sell Batman and my answer is always the same because I got $228,000 for it and I bought all of the furniture for this house with Batman sale and this house has brought us so much joy and I love this home so much and and again like it's just brought way more smiles to my face than um than a Batman would have I mean we wake up every day in this house and we feel blessed I hope all you feel the same way about your homes I really I feel like your home your family home should bring a level uh of of enthusiasm to you every day and and of course it comes from the people inside it and the Good Vibes I I mean this like I I feel so good knowing that my children are growing up in a household where Mom and Dad are not arguing with each other we're not stressed out about money we're not just you know we're engaged with them we're we're 100% focused on our children and and disciplining them and rewarding them and and setting boundaries and and raising them to be two gentlemen I can tell you right now my children are going to be the peaky blinders and much like the peaky blinders I can tell you right now that Killian is going to be Arthur the older brother he is emotionally like his dad he's a more of a primadonna and I can tell you right now that Cassian is gonna be the Thomas Shelby the cool collected boss man who just gets it done and always looks out for his older brother that that is I can just see the way they're developing now and it's just so awesome you got the right idea congrats on the the yeah yeah um thank you thank you wlc look I feel very lucky to have sold the New York City Apartment uh in my building in New York City there were nine apartments for sale nine all of which were one bedrooms uh and so I I you know I just didn't I I don't like the city anymore Eric Adams has destroyed it all the social movements destroyed New York City uh young people don't go out anymore so The Nightlife of New York is not what it used to be I I just saw a report that like college kids are having the least amount of sex they've ever had that more college kids are like leaving College as virgins I don't I don't understand man what would happen to kids like when when I was like I don't don't doesn't anyone get like aroused anymore like I don't know when I was young didn't you try to find any free space you could find with someone you were attracted to and college was just like paradise to to be uh outside of of your parents and and any control I don't get it um yeah you know we were talking about that I I bet a lot of these people are especially boys are like the addiction to the modern porn world has got to be I know my hat says porn star but it's it's got to be somewhat debilitating though I I bet they look at normal intimacy as like unattractive because of what's coming at them because when we were kids gang remember like I I remember like there wasn't internet porn like that like porn movies still had like a storyline at least a little bit right and then you know you had all these like magazines but they they were much more just focused on the beautiful figure versus like crazy stuff going on I yeah it's all I don't know it's all the internet's a trash a trash can it's a dumpster fire of what is put into these kids's heads um so I'll do my best as a parent that's all parents can do you can do your best raise them to have self-esteem that's that's my number one goal with my kids I I just want to raise them to have self-esteem if if I can achieve that I will feel good because when you have self-esteem you don't give in peer pressure when you have self-esteem you don't make fun of you don't you don't care that people make fun of you because you're not going to you know go along with the crowd like when I was in when I was in high school I had a lot of self-esteem my parents raised me with a lot of uh a lot of confidence to just be myself like I I didn't do drugs I didn't really drink I I said no to a lot of the social pressures that were around me uh because I I fell in love with stuff like Automobiles and my dad would say like hey look I'll get you a nice car if you promise me you're not going to drink and and it was like yeah sure and I didn't you know I was in sports cars in college when every other kid was in like these big Eddie Bower SUVs uh had a little Honda S2000 in college Eclipse GST was my first car then Subaru STI then Audi S4 then another STI you know then then forget then then eventually went then I went to like the Honda Civic type bar we had the we had a lot of fun cars it's easy to have self-esteem when you're wealthy and white um I I disagree with that Scott I think self-esteem isn't about color or about money it's not it's it's a feeling of selfworth and it and it's not really you know like everyone goes through insecurity but to raise someone to have um a a point of view on the world that allows them to feel good about who they are I I think it goes well past all of that like and no one's going to trust me because you're like well it's easy for you to say because you're white and you you know you had some privilege growing up but I don't know I meet people of all walks of life who have self-esteem and didn't come from money or are diverse have you know alternative Lifestyles yeah it's an attitude it absolutely is an attitude I also think it's about for me self-esteem more than an attitude it's a perspective you know if you realize how rare it is to even be alive right that this Earth even exists how everybody who's here is sort of a a miracle to the universe and how fortunate most people are just to be where they are right and not in a in in a region of of war and of turmoil and of extreme poverty it always kills me when I see wealthy kids depressed I you know I I to me that's just like how how did you allow children of such privilege to grow up feeling so like ashamed and I think this is one of the biggest and then gang I'll let you guys go I think one of the biggest mistakes a lot of people do when they raise children is they they make them feel ashamed of who they are where they come from what they have and they they adopt this weird uh shame and an apologetic point of view on the world and then the kids sort of live in their own head you know they they can't get out of their own feelings and they they' they've closed themselves into this tiny little world and to me that like that's the wrong perspective because if you zoom out and see the larger world you you start to realize like wait a minute like there's so much more to all of this it's hard though cuz kids you know kids get very they get very um very lost in their emotions we all we all did we all still do we all still do um but I also just think there's like there is a little bit of a fallback on like mental health now and and I don't know it's just become too much of a of an excuse for for people too not to develop any grit and any fortitude and any strength you know you got to I remember like so much of being young and and learning how to sort of survive in environments where there were people bullying me and there you know kids would steal my book bag in high school and try to sell me my books back and they would make fun of me because of the town I grew up in and or the clothes I had or they would you know there there was just a lot of like a lot to deal with right and and you knew like your parents couldn't help you you had to like develop a way to like get through it anyway all more than I I can't join can Club because it's tuition season on only feds okay guys have a great weekend this was a fun show um I I really do appreciate all of you who subscribe to Canadas pinball podcast I will do a new show probably on Monday uh I think it's exciting to greedy about it but it'd be nice to sort of hit that Milestone of 800 over the next four weeks uh just give it give it to your friend as a gift you can now if you're a patreon member you can gift
