We stream every Wednesday night, and then I stream for Zach and Nicole and Flip N Out Pinball every other Thursday. Excited to be playing one of my favorite games. We're playing some Turtles tonight. Should be a good time, but there is a new addition if you look right there. topper cam so I've been giving Zach a hard time when I do the chatting streams on the pinball network that in the background you can see I have a Deadpool topper but I don't have a Turtles topper and he has a few in stock and so long story short boom Turtles topper so I don't know if anybody's ever streamed the game with an actual camera on the topper but that's the goal tonight just to see what the light show looks like. You'll see that eye, the eye on the Technodrome moves. And so I'm very curious to see how often that moves. Kind of hard to, you know, watch and admire while you're playing. So I'll be excited to watch the stream back later and see exactly how good that looks. But, yeah, this is Turtles. Should be a good night. Should be a fun time streaming. I also know there's a lot of people that are streaming it, so I assume the streaming fatigue, I would assume most viewers are pretty sick of watching Godzilla at this point, but I don't know, man. New pin day is always a good day. How is the audio balance between me talking and the game audio? Because I mean, I love the grooves of this killer bass line, but I don't want it to be overwhelming. Have I played Bond yet? I have not. My plan is to go to Cincinnati later. It's early December in Cincinnati, and I know they're going to have them there. So hopefully I'll be able to play them soon. And this is the game he literally played the entire time. and he found it like so frustrating that that's what he kept coming back to it he's like i'm finally trying to learn this game or figure it out and i don't know he was he was yes jared yeah he was excited about it so sterling i'm assuming you don't own this but if you're if you're looking to get one obviously zach will hook you up all right let's play a real game here and i think some games you can go different strategies. True. I mean, there are definitely games that once you beat it, like Godzilla is a perfect example. Once you technically get all the way to the end, there's still so much more you can do to it. There isn't any extra mode or anything. It's just the eye apparently reacts to your shots, and then depending on what turtle you pick, it still light shows and stuff. You reckon you'll get – yeah, I'm screwed. I feel like I have to get the Godzilla topper at this point just because I already have other toppers. I told my dad that today when he helped me get Godzilla down here in the basement. I was like, I'm screwed. Because at this point, if I ever decide, okay, I'm not buying the topper for this game, I feel like I'm going to have to start selling the toppers that I already have. Because when you have one blank topper, it really stands out. You've got a Godzilla Squalito. It's right there. I got my Godzilla Premium today. And you're probably asking yourself, why are you playing Turtles? Well, Victor, I mean, Pinball said it the other day. Like, I'm pretty sure most customers, or not customers, wow, most people that are viewing or watching the stream are probably pretty sick of people playing Godzilla. And that's, so I was like, all right, I'm not going to try to rush and get all the streams and stuff in the game tonight. I'll go ahead and do a turtle instead. I'll do a turtle stopper, which I thought would be kind of fun. So that's what we're doing. But I don't know. I don't, I, I, I, Zach dropped off another game, I will say that, Zach dropped off another game that I'm going to stream Wednesday, um, next week, and then, I don't know, I don't know if it'll at all stream Godzilla after that, but it'll happen. But to be 100% honest, I have more fun. Maybe not much more, but I have more fun streaming this game than I do Deadpool. So that's where I'm at where I'm trying to decide when Vaughn shows up and I have to get rid of a game. to my parents, it's like, well, I'm still going to be streaming, so do I give away something like Deadpool? I love Deadpool, but every time I'm streaming it for two hours straight, every time you hit start, it's the same thing. I'm back to having to defeat the same three villains. There's no additional ways to play it kind of thing. And it's fun, don't get me wrong, but this game, you've seen me over the last hour plus. There's so many different ways that I can play this game. and that's what I love. It's like, well, if I don't want to play a single-player game, I can play a co-op game where I'm doing impossible mode right now. Or a half-shell challenge, or what do you want to do? And my other thought was if I let my parents borrow this, it's a harder game. I don't want my parents or my family that's over at my parents' house to just be constantly destroyed by turtles, you know. He streams with Fox City Spinball. But it was just all on the Internet, you know, me watching his streams or in the TPN Discord. And then Travis, Travis does, he does, he used to do his YouTube channel, Marv Loco. And I would watch it, and I thought it was great. I enjoyed watching his YouTube channel. Well, he, what was it? He, I was streaming. I was actually streaming, and all of a sudden, here in chat pops a name, Marv. And I was like, are you Marv Loco? And so it was literally this engagement, Travis and I. That's how it started. Him heckling me on stream. And what was funny is I would stream the game, and then he'd normally message me afterwards and be like, hey, here's something about the code you didn't know, or you should try to do this. And so I actually asked Travis, I said, hey, I said, hey, do you want to come on my stream? And so Travis actually came on the audio of my stream. This is back when I was streaming at Benjoo. And he actually, like, talked to me on the stream and kind of coached me through. And it was great. But I don't know. We just kind of hit it off and built a rapport there just talking on stream. Well, then, out of nowhere, Tom says that he wants to do a podcast. And Tom Graff said he was planning on doing, like, a solo podcast. And we heard this. And I was talking to Travis. And then I learned Travis and Tom were really good friends. So Travis is like, Tom, I can't have you do that by yourself. Like, I'll do it with you. And I have no idea why I even had the thought. Okay, so let me explain this, Joel, because now that you're a tournament player, I saw what you did. So there are two types of tournaments. There's ones where you play in match play. You might be playing heads up or in a group. So the object is to kind of put up a good score. And then there are other tournaments, like the one you played in, which I think was Cleveland, where you're trying to put up the biggest score possible. So most tournaments are, I'm just trying to beat the other person in my group. So what's the best character for that? Is it something that gets you in the multiball? We can talk about that. So I was playing a game with Insider Connected turned on, and one of the things Dwight built in with Turtles was you can level up your characters. Well, with Insider Connected, those levels that you build stay with you. So every time that I start a game, Raphael is now at level four automatically, which is pretty awesome. It's like a – but that doesn't work in tournament play. That's not how that works. Methodone, Mervin, how you doing, man? So if we look at this, If I play without Insider Connect, you're going to see right there next to this head, you see Player 1, Level 1. So they're all Level 1. So if you look in the middle, Level 1, each one has a perk. So Raphael's is Episode Start Lit. So instead of having to qualify the mode by hitting both ramps, you just hit the turtle shot and you're in your mode. So if that's the goal, just get in the mode as quick as possible, Raphael's the way to go. Michelangelo, Light Battle Again, if you look, the outlane ball saves are called battle again. So the way that works is... You just get that from picking that character? Yep. It gives you outlanes? That's pretty big. But it's just one. And the way that the default settings are is they change based on sling hits. So one of the outlanes, though, is lit. So it's kind of a... You can't control it like a TNA. I have it turned on where you can. So maybe that is a setting. I love it because it makes me feel like I can react to it. Just like you're saying with TNA. But the default is no, it's by the sling. Joel, let's not talk about your seven, you know, tilt bobs, five balls. The tilt is definitely in there. The tilt is definitely in there. Leonardo, this is like the Escher-level character because training, if you look, there are different perks. So training is a whole process of hitting the layer and then hitting multiple shots. And as you build your character up, it gives you additional perks. I don't even think Escher, though, goes Leo. I don't think I've ever seen anybody in a competitive setting pick Leo. What's Travis do? What's your triple drain partner do? So Travis goes Raphael. And the reason is if you actually go all the way up, you can get three times episodes if you want to focus on leveling up. But the way the pin was set up at Cleave Pin, like, or sorry, yeah, Cleave Pin, there was no way you were going to level up your turtles. But for a setup like Expo, where the games were just sock, like that, if you could go far enough, then I could see. I don't know. I know most of the time Travis will either go Raphael because you can just get straight into your episodes, which are worth points. Or you'll go Donatello because it starts you off with a multiball. I do want to learn this. So this is helpful because you mentioned Kleepin, and that's three days of qualifying. And there are so many different machines. So you've got three full days of being able to play whatever game you want. I didn't play it once, not because I dislike it or anything. I just don't understand it. And then same with the Expo, too. I'm like, no, no, no, no, no, no. Here, I'll do this. I'll do this then. Let me restart it. Because there is tournament mode. There's a whole other thing with pizza toppings. The whole other thing was pizza toppings, and I'll show you that. Isn't there something to do with the octopus? Isn't that like a great topic? So if I do competition and I choose this, what you'll see is in the far upper right, do you see how the octopus tentacle is already by default at the topping? So if you can just get in and hit the turtle van, it'll lock three of those. so as long as you avoid hitting the pizza targets which there's a pizza target here and there's the little target right there next to the van that's what cycles the toppings but the key is you don't want to start multiball unless you have one of the octopus tentacles because the octopus tentacles what that does is it gives you switch frenzy so that's where early on the meta in a tournament world was make sure you have that octopus start multiball, cradle up, and rip the spinner as long as you possibly could. Isn't there a mode where you're in a multiball and you're supposed to drain balls immediately to get back up? Well, that would make sense. Yeah, it would just throw that same thing. If you have the switch frenzy going, get it just straight up there and just hit switches. The one other level of that is how do you get your two times play field? You'll see right here it says two times play field. That's this target. Well, to get that target lit, what you have to do is you have to spell lair. So you have to hit this four times. You may have to actually spell it eight times. I think the first time you hit lair, it does training, and then the next time is when that's lit. So that's something that some people do. They get into multiball, cradle up, focus on lair, start their two times, and then just rip spinner and just try to play that out. And that's why a lot of people didn't like this competitively because once you've played that initially, once you've played that multiball, there was nothing else. Like, the episodes weren't worth anything. It was just like that was the main thing. The code just changed. The code did just change. So Dwight now doubled all episodes. So actually trying to hit your shots in episodes and trying to complete episodes, now there's actually points there. So the challenge with Donatello, though, is if you pick Donatello, what it does is you see how this is flashing green. that means the very first time you hit the right ramp, it'll start a multiball. Why's that a problem? Normally you don't want to start a multiball unless you have a mode going, right? Well, to qualify the mode, you have to hit both ramps. So, the trick to that is Dwight built in a hurry up. It's this 1-2-3. It's this inner lane right here. So, if you can start 1-2-3, that turns off the multiball. So, you start 1-2-3, you hit your right ramp, you hit your left ramp you cradle up, you let 1, 2, 3 finish then you start your mode and then you can hit your right ramp and be in multiball so it's kind of a, I don't know if you just want to feel out the table Donatello is not a bad way to go get your multiball going, feel it all out but yeah, we can try it I'm going to go Raphael just so that episodes are lit but let's see if we can get into multiball with our octopus still on so I don't know I'm a fan of holding down the left flipper and going all the way around but I don't know if it's smarter competitively to uh so I already I already messed up yeah so the thing about the doing the super skill shot is you want to make sure the ball saves on a lot of people will not do a super skill shot if the ball state has been disabled right off the bat it's too dangerous. Okay, yeah. Which makes it, but okay, so this just started a mode because I hit the turtle shot and I'm using Raphael. So Raphael, the mode is lit by default. Well, let's look at our pizza toppings now, because this is my first ball lock. So do you see how the two toppings on the right no longer have a green border around them? Not good. Those are locked in. So those are... Oh, they're locked. They're locked in. So now if I hit the turtle, if I hit the pizza target, only the three I gotta hit the team's target though so in this mode you want to hit yellow shots, yellow shots are your mode shots so this particular mode there's a lot of shots lit this is a great mode to play in multiball because so many shots are lit here we go how many more do I need to hit backhanding the right ramp is 100% the same as one of my units. And you can do it? Back in the right ramp, yes. And then, to finish a mode, these are the four main turtle shots. So you see how they're laughing or flashing at you? Yep. So you want to aim for one of those four. Whatever is the safest, which is normally the turtle van. So there we go. So I actually just locked my second ball because I hit that shot. So let's see what other toppings I locked in. But there's two million points. So, yes. Okay, so perfect. All I have left is my octopus tail. I can tell already the points have changed. Yeah, I know, because I'm at two million. Yeah. So let's get down here. Let's cradle up. All right. So if you look, my four toppings on the right are locked in, but that one topping is still in green. So if I didn't like that topping, I could aim for my pizza targets and try to get that. But like I told you earlier, what we care about is we want the octopus pinnacle. We want the octopus pinnacle. So I could try to start a mode and then get my multiball going, but just for the sake of this. I don't know the show that well. Octopus on a pizza? Is this a turtle thing, or has Dwight got a serious bad diet? There was a few episodes. There we go. So I locked it in. There was a few episodes early on where they had some weird stuff on it. I could never play long enough to learn the rules. This game needs to be in the house. I agree. This is a game that I definitely learned better. So here's my topping. So because I have octopus, switch frenzies on. So let it drain and go up in the pops. That's not even close. We'll try it. Yeah. Take a few layer shots and then just let it drain. That's a good point. Yeah. So we'll let, I'm not going to hold the, I won't hold the left flipper down, obviously. Oh, never mind. I flipped right at the wrong time. Oh, so two times is lit. Two times is lit right now. So if I can hit the two times target, which I just did, so now I'm actually in two times the point. But you see, every switch is 5,000. So now this is where the smart thing is. Cradle up and then try to go for right spin. There we go. So right spin it right there. That was a lot of fun. It's like watching Carl play. Yeah. Not the Android. There's another guy I don't even know. Carl, yeah, the blind guy. But, hey, I mean, that was something, though. But that's, for a good player, that's a solid technique right there. But now it's gone, right? So where's the next play? So that's the thing. So to relight that multiball, you have to complete four episodes. Oh, boy. Yeah, that's why people didn't like this, because it was kind of an all-or-nothing, all-on that multiball. You've got to go big on that multiple. And once you burn through it, then you're like, crap, I'm going to have to grind for a while. But now, luckily, the modes are worth something. This sound, that's your action button mode. Oh, great. Yeah, that pizza slice right there is flashing. So if I hit either that pizza target or that one, that's where that mode of, yeah, get ready and hit your button. So there's the backhand that we were talking about. You said the sound. Is it also... There's a lot of places you can't hear the sound of the game. So does that light only come on when that... Yes, and the action button is flashing red. It's like it knows it's coming. And it's gone. Oh, so... Oh, never mind. It was going. It was actually going. Oh, no. You got zero? I got zero. So that's why I was flashing red. Well done. Well, there you go. So I've hit one of my ramps, so I need to hit my other ramp and then I can get into another mode But you know, it's funny you say that like it was going I can't see the action button on the screen But you said it was flashing red or something Was there anything on the screen saying press the button? No, I think the problem was there was an April hurry up going on at the same time and I think that kind of over played it So here we go. There we go. So here's mode number two. Now, mine is set up where if you get two episodes. I didn't set it, but I don't know if it's the fault. Sterling or somebody else who has the game, maybe you can tell me. But for mine, on my second episode is when my extra balls land. Now, I have no idea from a competitive standpoint. Extra balls will be points. It'll be points. So let's hit it and see what it does. So the extra ball is at the pizza van. Well, extra ball, I mean, they would turn off the extra ball so they would be points. In this home version of competitive mode, who knows if it's an extra ball. So there we go. I hit my yellow shots, and there we go. That's my extra ball, and I just finished the mode. What do you get, points or ball? It's giving me an extra ball, so I would have to set it. So that's another thing. If you did focus on completing the mode when the play field multipliers two times, that would be pretty cool. I will tell you I have a bad habit of flipping the upper flipper whenever I get a chance. We talked about that. Because I love this shot, but I had no dangers. But there are certain modes where some of the jackpot shots and the multi-balls are up there, but when you're not in one of those, I really shouldn't be flipping. That is a Keith Owens specialty in all of his games, where he gives you the upper flipper. and a lot of times you really shouldn't flip it. Yeah, it's like don't touch it is what I'm hearing, yeah. Godzilla, Godzilla for sure. Oh, yeah, yeah. I will say when I was at Cleveland, I think I got, I don't remember, but my turtle score was only like 6 million, but it was enough that it put, I think I was like. That's a pretty good score. I think I was like in the, I don't remember, but it was somewhere in the half. Don't pull up the stats. I'll get it for you. It wasn't bad. It was my best ranking of all my rankings, but it, like that to me, What I've already done is, like, way better than a lot of the scores for those qualifying. So that's two modes done. So let's do it again. So ramp, ramp. Your score on turtles was 5.9 million. Yeah. Good? But what was that out of the top 100? How many points did you get? Do you want to know or do you just want to go with the story you had? I'll take it. I'll take the truth. Can you handle the truth? Sure, yeah. I've just built my reputation on my competitive play. That's for sure. Well, the high score was Jared August with 34.9 million. Yeah, yeah. Your 5.9 million got you 39 points. You're right, it was your best. It was 49th out of 84. Yeah, I remember it was like, it was, yeah, I remember thinking in the 40, like, I was proud of that because it was like the second game I played. I was like, okay, that's better than I was expecting. It beat any score I put up because I didn't put it up any, but I'll tip my cap anyway. I wouldn't beat that. So I showed you the method, though, of the octopus, right? Well, that's what Travis told me. Like, that's the meta, right, for this game. Well, Travis, as soon as I walked up at Cleefan, he's like, hey, you should go play Turtles. By the way, the spinner sucks. That's also good to know. Yeah, but that's what he said. It's like, don't count on that because every time you hit the spinner, you get like three spins. So you had to rely on pops. You had to rely on. Let's give you some credit here. Here's some of the great players you beat on that Turtles game. Young Sterling, who's a whiz kid in Michigan. You beat him. You beat Eric Wartenberger. Chuck Wartenberger. You beat him. you beat somebody by the name of Trent Augenstein, a several-time IFBA Player of the Year. And I was afraid to play you, so you beat me as well. Hey, but that was the thing. I mean, that was one game out of that lineup that I was like, okay, I actually know this game a little bit, and there's a lot of other people that don't. Well, you know what? That's why I am watching and I'm asking these questions because you're going to come across, if you're playing in competition, you're going to come across these games, and you know what? You'd better learn them because they will come. That is where I definitely felt out of place because we were facing games, you know, common games where it's like, well, like Corvette. I had never seen a Corvette or played one, so it's like where do I even start on this? So if you're watching the stream and you're about to play in a tournament, You know, you play at home, you play with your buddies, you're in league, and you maybe go to an arcade and you want to play a tournament. I, first of all, recommend it because it's fun. There's a good adrenaline rush. It's not about winning or losing, but something happens where you're like, you want to win these games. Like you just said, Corvette, I've never played before, but it looks nice, nice layout, dome-ass layout, and part of the game, I'm playing it, it's fun, but how do I play it? So the first thing I always tell players is go to pin-tips.net. just for, it's almost like tweets on how to play the game. It's really maybe three steps. What do you do when you're on the left flipper? What do you do on the right flipper? How do you start a multiball? These are all good things to do. Pintips.net, I'll type it in. Huh.
