## Analysis

George and Dave from The Classic Pinball Podcast discuss their upcoming coverage of Pintastic 2023, a pinball convention happening 3-4 weeks away. Dave shares extensive restoration work he's performed on 30+ machines over five weeks, including notable fixes to modern Stern games (Jurassic Park, Mandalorian) and classic Williams/Bally titles. The hosts debate Pintastic's venue location (Sturbridge to Marlborough), timing (post-Labor Day), and observation that Galactic Tank Force developer John Borg is heavily featured, while discussing how these factors are affecting attendance.

### Key Claims

- [MEDIUM] Pintastic has been covered on the podcast approximately 5 times across episodes 1, 2, 5, 68, and 69 (with one title uncertain) — _George and Dave discussing their show history; Dave says 'four times,' George corrects to five, citing episodes 1, 2, 68, 69, and 5_
- [HIGH] Dave has worked on approximately 30 games in the five weeks since their last recording (July 9) — _Dave states directly: 'probably about 30 games or so have gone through my hands working on stuff since then. In five weeks? Yeah. Yeah, lots.'_
- [HIGH] Dave installed an Andrew Weebly power supply board replacement in a Lux game, solving persistent electrical issues with bridge rectifiers from questionable China stock — _Dave describes diagnosing and replacing bridge rectifiers that were failing prematurely, sourced from a pinball supplier who may have purchased bulk stock from China_
- [HIGH] Stern's Jurassic Park had broken wires to the T-Rex opto sensor caused by movement of the mechanism, not the opto itself — _Dave: 'It wasn't even the opto, basically, because the thing moves around so much, it broke the wires to the opto.'_
- [HIGH] Pintastic's post-Labor Day timing and Sturbridge-to-Marlborough venue location are deterring some attendees from New York and Pennsylvania due to vacation depletion and school/activities schedules — _George: 'The timing this time of year to hold a show right after Labor Day... people already used up their vacation for Labor Day. They already traveled. OK, the kids are going back to school. Soccer starts.'_
- [HIGH] Some Pintastic vendors have complained about limited access to the Extra Ball Lounge, affecting their willingness to bring games to the show — _George: 'they wanted a little more access to the Extra Ball Lounge, a little more unlimited access to the Extra Ball Lounge, and they had limited access by bringing games. So that was a sticking point for them'_
- [MEDIUM] Firepower machines with drop target conversions were prototypes; approximately 100 were made before the design was switched to stand-ups — _Dave discusses working on a Firepower with drop targets: 'I thought was a prototype, But actually, all these games are convertible to drop targets because there were prototype games, about 100 made until they stopped doing that'_
- [HIGH] Williams games never properly tightened flipper pawls, leading to looseness and weakness that requires rebuilding — _Dave: 'Williams drop targets suck. They always suck... Stern, even the Williams games from the 90s, they never tightened down their flipper pawls all the way like they're supposed to.'_
- [MEDIUM] Firepower was originally designed in software for drop targets; stand-ups were an afterthought when the original drop target assembly proved unreliable — _Dave: 'The game is actually designed in software for drop targets. The stand-ups were an afterthought when the drop target thing wasn't going to work because their assembly sucked'_
- [HIGH] Mark Helms is filming a documentary part 2 featuring Steve Ritchie, including scenes at Dave's restoration shop, a customer's Firepower machine, and Pintastic 2023 — _Dave: 'Mark Helms. He's doing a part two of a documentary featuring Steve Ritchie... He's going to come to my shop, film me at the shop... He's also going to come with me to a customer's house'_

### Signals

- **[venue_signal]** Vendors and players from NY/PA region are voting with their feet against Pintastic 2023 due to post-Labor Day timing (vacation depletion, school/activities start) and Sturbridge-Marlborough location (distance from their regions) (confidence: high) — George: 'they wanted a little more access to the Extra Ball Lounge... and they're kind of voting with their feet in their checkbook and saying no this time around'
- **[product_concern]** Bridge rectifiers purchased from a pinball supplier (potentially China-sourced) are failing prematurely in power supply boards across multiple machines (confidence: high) — Dave: 'those bridge rectifiers seemed to fail pretty darn quick, and this one was no exception... I think he got a bunch of stock from China or something'
- **[design_innovation]** Magnetic read switch (MRS) technology conversion for Williams drop targets is being adopted as a superior solution to original Williams drop target assemblies, enabling Firepower drop target conversions (confidence: high) — Dave: 'magnetic read switch technology conversion for their drop targets, because Williams drop targets suck... Now that you have better technology with the magnetic read switch technology, it's a lot better with drop targets'
- **[restoration_signal]** Multiple modern Stern games (Jurassic Park, Mandalorian, Medieval Madness) share recurring flipper pawl looseness issues requiring professional rebuilding; post-factory service support often provides wrong diagnosis/parts (confidence: high) — Dave: 'Stern, even the Williams games from the 90s, they never tightened down their flipper pawls all the way like they're supposed to... they always loosen up and have a loosey-goosey lot of play'
- **[content_signal]** Mark Helms is producing a Steve Ritchie documentary part 2 with filming at Pintastic 2023, Dave's restoration shop, and customer locations; Dave and John Day are primary interview subjects (confidence: high) — Dave: 'Mark Helms. - **[event_signal]** Steve Ritchie confirmed as Pintastic 2023 attendee; Mark Helms documentary filming during show; John Borg heavily featured, creating perception that show is primarily 'Galactic Tank Force show' (confidence: high) — George: 'Pintastic has become the GTF show... John Borg, and I listened to him... it appears to me... that Gabe has showcased that game and company'
- **[operational_signal]** Extra Ball Lounge access restrictions for vendors bringing machines is a friction point affecting vendor participation and show attendance; Pintastic organizers considering policy changes for next show (April) (confidence: high) — George: 'they wanted a little more access to the Extra Ball Lounge, a little more unlimited access... they're kind of voting with their feet... Hopefully it gets all resolved by next show in April'
- **[market_signal]** Multiple pinball conventions scheduled close together (Pintastic September, another show near Allentown April) creating attendance competition and forcing players/vendors to choose which shows to support (confidence: medium) — George: 'could go to other shows and I am going to another show. But next year, now you're going to be closer to Allentown... am I going to travel the extra 300, 250, 300 miles to come to your show?'
- **[product_strategy]** Stern releasing new color variants and backglass/translite changes for Jurassic Park after announcing game as one of 500 LE units, eroding collector trust in limited edition claims (confidence: high) — George: 'they tell you, hey, you know, this is one of 500... We're just going to change a couple of colors... and we're going to put a new... trans light or back glass... now it's one of whatever they make it'
- **[historical_signal]** Firepower prototype/production history reveals that drop targets were original design, stand-ups were emergency substitution due to assembly reliability failures; modern technology (MRS) now enables return to superior drop target design (confidence: medium) — Dave: 'The game is actually designed in software for drop targets. The stand-ups were an afterthought when the drop target thing wasn't going to work because their assembly sucked'
- **[industry_signal]** Pintastic organizer (Gabe) navigating tension between showcasing specific manufacturers/games and maintaining balanced appeal to geographically diverse attendees; timing and venue decisions creating unintended consequences (confidence: medium) — George: 'you have to do something to stand out, right?... Gabe has showcased that game and company, but' also noting post-Labor Day timing and distance deterring participation

## Transcript

🎵 Everybody listen to me And return me my ship I'm your captain, I'm your captain I know I'm feeling mighty sick Hello and welcome to another episode of the Classic Pinball Podcast. My name is George. His name is Dave. Hello, Dave. Hello, George. Well, it's been five weeks since we recorded. A lot has taken place, probably on your side of the fence. Not so much pinball on this side. although I do have quite a few things I do want to talk about. All right. This program is going to focus on Pentastic in a little bit. And Dave, I went back into the Wayback Machine. And can you tell me how many times we've spoken or done a show, more importantly, about Pentastic? Well, first, George, when you first said this show is, I thought you were going to say sponsored by... Here comes a commercial now. Boring, repetitive, noisy, tedious, soporific. You see, I'm completely harmless, juvenile, dull, ridiculous. Bully Madison Zingers. You'll want to buy him, but you can't find him anywhere. I thought for sure you were going to say that, but anyway, back to your question at hand. How many times we talk about Pentastic? I'd say four times. I thought the same. Five. That was our first show. So, folks, episodes one, two, 68, 69, and five. But no, five. No, that's how many there are. I don't know what the fifth one is, but there's a fifth one. It's in the 70s or 80s somewhere. the people at home give them some homework to do that's all yeah they can go look so we're going to get to that in a second let's see what do I want to start with today hmm oh I know what we can start with we'll get the controversy out of the way right away or what I think is anyway or a conspiracy something like that Is it a conspiracy fact? I have facts. Pintastic has become the GTF show. Is that kind of like a GTO? No, it's like a GTFO. Okay. Gran Turismo. Get the out. Get the fudge out? Yeah. No, they have everybody from that company with the, what you would call, Galactic Tank Force. Oh. Come on, tell me you didn't notice this. I didn't notice this. I'm not in the full loops here, so. Okay, so why don't we start with that? So, Dave, do you have anything new to tell us about the fantastic show that is only four, three and a half, four weeks away? something like that three weeks two weeks three uh i ordered the ribbons for it the best and best in play ribbons so that's all you got that's all i got i get nothing well do you have a list of i mean i don't have a list in front of me of all the games they're gonna be there no no i'm getting ready for that but if you want to tell some stories do you want to tell about your exploits everybody loves those you can tell one we can come back to the fantastic thing. We can go back and forth. I got pages of stuff. Whatever you want to talk about. Okay, well, since we last had this, like on July 9th, I guess? It's the last time we talked, maybe? Yeah, it was a Sunday. Yes, I remember the day. A day like any other day. I probably... You don't know the song. It sounds familiar. Foreigner. Ah, Foreigner. Yeah, it was a Monday. It was a day like any other day? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Something in Decay. Good one. I like it. Perfect. Yeah, probably about 30 games or so have gone through my hands working on stuff since then. In five weeks? Yeah. Yeah, lots. Did you go to the D Hotel? We did go to the D Hotel. You got to tamp down on the D Hotel. even though I love saying it. The hotel. We did a power play day spot part two in Southboro. That was pretty straightforward. Fun working in a power play again. In Brookline early in mid-July, worked on, I sold this guy a beautiful restored eight bottle Lux, the original desirable one from 81. You know, that's the one that we repaint, play feel, blah, blah. all 10, 10, 10 all the way around. But it always had a little bit of an issue here and there with Ghost the Machine, and I finally found out why, because the bridge rectifiers I used in it for the power supply board, I bought them years ago, a whole bunch of them. I think, I don't know, one of the major suppliers, one of the pinball suppliers, but I think he got a bunch of stock from China or something, because those bridge rectifiers seemed to fail pretty darn quick, and this one was no exception. It kind of failed, and this guy had a problem with it. So what I did is fix his weird problem with a wooden boot up and some other weird stuff, is I put Andrew's Weebly power supply board in his game, fixed all the problems. It all went away. You built it? No, he has them all complete. So a nice complete board from Andrew, the Weebly guy, who makes MPUs and all the different boards for Bally, different boards for Williams. Right. He makes a lot of nice stuff. So I had his board. So that's the one that's down in that game. That's the one that's down in the cabinet, right? In the cabinet. Yep, in the cabinet. Yep. Oh, okay. No, I never bought one of those from him. Okay. Yeah, he just started making those about a year or so ago. Okay. So that's a good product, you know. So I put that in there, fixed all that problem. Then while I was there, it's like, well, I got five other games here. You want to work on those too? Sure. So I did work on five games, and I was just like, I started, When I'm on a roll, bang, bang, I can just like, you know, things are going my way. The pinball gods, the pinball restoration gods are going my way. And, you know, just can go right through things. Like I had a Jurassic Park that had a problem with the T-Rex wasn't coming out and grabbing the ball the right way or something. And he was on the phone with Stern, and Stern sent him some sensor and an opto and some other stuff and some wiring, and he didn't know how to do it. And he said, so I said, hey, I'll handle this. No problem. So it wasn't even the opto, basically, because the thing moves around so much, it broke the wires to the opto. Which, this was Jurassic Park? Jurassic Park, the new one, the new Jurassic Park. Can I give us an off-ramp for about two minutes? Go ahead, off-ramp it. I know you saw it because you got the email as I did. Yes. You know what song I'm going to play here right now, right? Money Grabber. Money grabber. Would you be pissed? See, here I go again. Yeah, you get pissed off, George. Pissed off George. Yeah. Okay, so in good faith you buy the game, right? They tell you, hey, you know, this is one of 500 or 1,000, whatever it is. It doesn't matter. I think there's an asterisk next to that. Well, you know what? We're just going to change a couple of colors on some of the armor, and we're going to put a new, you know, trans light or back glass in it and, you know, call it a day. You want to know what I think? No. Nobody wants to hear the nonsensical ravings of a loud mouth malcontent. well we'll see about that yeah because now you're you're one of 500 whatever isn't really one of 500 anymore now it's one of whatever they make it they're gonna claim it's different but it's like it's not you know come on this was supposed to be the end and now all of a sudden it's like oh no we can do this this is why so in the future when they bring something out are you going to be there looking over your shoulder saying oh yeah is this gonna you know be one of 500 or are they going to do the Jurassic Park again. This is why I'm so glad I collect 1990s and earlier games. Don't have to worry about any of this crap. I get all the nice stuff from all those years. None of this BS happens. I thought it was comical. I had not heard of it. Grant, thanks for keeping us in the know because we probably wouldn't even know what happened if you didn't tell us. He's good like that. He is. So I basically, with the Jurassic Park, there was no instructions with Stern's, the kid I gave him, to how to take the T-Rex out. So I started looking at it, looking at it, and I said, oh, I think I know how to do this. So I started just like took the whole T-Rex out. I had to go bring the play field out, look in the back, take it out, put it on a table, took the T-Rex jar apart, flipped it over, took the jar apart, find two wires that are broken from all the movement it does. I just started them back on to the optical that was there, put it back in, works great. So, fixed that. Then he had problems with his Mandalorian, with a weak flipper. Oh, he's got some games, huh? Oh, yeah, man. He's got high-end games. Fixed the Mandalorian, fixed his flipper problem because Stern, even the Williams games from the 90s, they never tightened down their flipper pawls all the way like they're supposed to. So, they always loosen up and have a loosey-goosey lot of play in them and a lot of weakness. So, I rebuilt them, tightened those up. And then I did the same thing with Medieval Madness was doing a weird thing where the ball would jump off. You shoot the ball up and around and it comes down. I think you should think they made the catapult or something like that. It comes down up and around and goes around and it would jump off the habit trail and kept doing it. And it's like, well, we could bend the habit trail up a little bit, but that's not it. And I looked at it more closely. It's like, you know what? You bought this Medieval Madness remake and someone put a toy in it. It's like wizard thing. It's like, that's not stock. It looks like stock. It's lit up. It's a really cool wizard guy. But he was just barely, he was kind of like super glued or taped on instead of being mounted on. He was in the way, and I saw after a while, I said, the ball keeps hitting this wizard. That's why the ball's off the track. Nothing wrong with the game. It's the freaking, it's a stupid toy that someone put on. So somebody did a poor job of putting a mod on. Yeah, they introduced a problem by putting the mod on wrong. So this is mounted the right way, put it back where it's supposed to be, and no problem with that. He didn't do it, he bought the game that way? He bought the game that way, yeah. He did know probably Yeah so he wasn't sure So I just looked at that and fixed that Fixed it 1, 2, 3, 4 Yeah Star Wars Fixed that too more Stern Flipper weakness Rebuilt those too He likes putting a lot of money in Stern's pocket Oh yeah he buys a lot of new Sterns Yeah and the Medieval Madness remake Too that's from What's the name? Chicago Gaming Yeah so that's five games there plus the power play then in Sterling Sterling worked on a Dale Jr. I had to fix the garage on that thing it kept blowing a fuse I think he hooked up the coil the wrong way so that was connected backward or something so I had to fix that the diode kept blowing the transistor so I replaced the diode on the garage and the transistor so I fixed the problem with a couple of fuses. Then I also applied my fix for the truck kick-out, which is always a problem in this game. It's a bit, they never fixed it from the factory, so I fixed that, my own fix on that game, so that instead of being like one every three times doing the correct thing, shooting out of the truck at the top of the game, it goes every time now like it's supposed to. Simple fix using a little blue sticky pad at the top there. and then on to one of my only corporate accounts I don't really care for corporate accounts that much except for this one this is a good corporate account who had that other one that you just did Lemaitre up in Burlington I don't know you did like a day spot nine games the guy took all the games home and then he brought them all back yeah you talked about that did I last time yeah why would I know it I don't know We didn't go until July We went after the fact I think I was going to go there But I didn't go there I don't think so So what did you do? So I worked on A day spot everything So we spent two days there Two full days Yeah you did you talk about this Really? Why would I lie? That's what I'm saying It's been so long And it's like, you know, I didn't go back and listen to the last episode, but I know that you talked about that. It's the only reason I remember. I'm like, you guys took all the games home, and then you brought them all back. Brought them all back. And then I'll just tell you, I'll list the games off. Two Ghostbusters, Two Kisses, a Medieval Madness remake, Family Guy, Game of Thrones, Hobbit, Deadpool, and I think that's it. So that was a full. That's a lot of games. A lot of games. But people were so happy once I was done They were like wow these games feel like new again It's been so long so that was fun Then we went to Newton for a South Park Ball kept getting stuck Fixed that it was some broken wiring And then did an LED conversion on that for the GI so that he was happy with that I don't know if I've ever Played that is that game any good Not really it's getting It was kind of a dog Back in the day it's beginning it's getting more Popularity now as people look back in fondness at it, so it's become a little more popular again. But the artwork on it is really, it's like South Park artwork. It's this cheesy artwork like South Park, you know? It does have a lot of good sassy commentary though. That's what I would think would be good about the game. Yeah, there's a lot of good jokes, a lot of good sassy commentary, so that makes the game kind of fun. And it does have a toilet, toilet multiball. Oh, just like Junkyard. Like Junkyard. I like my RAM games with a toilet inside installed because it makes it more convenient that way. Coming from a family of plumbers, that's always a welcome to the game. Certainly. Went to work on a Time Warp, a Williams game. You know, basically hasn't worked in a long time. Time Warp? Yeah, Williams from... Like from when? 79, 78, 79 Something like that That's not the one with the Banana flippers The lights that are in the middle And the circles get smaller as they go down No, nope, nope, nope What game? I'm thinking of another game You're thinking of like, I don't know, Time Tunnel or something Maybe that's it, okay That's a Bally EM No, I don't know I'm not sure I know that game either So Time Warp is one of the few games that had banana flippers That and that Disco Fever had banana flippers which were an experiment which failed miserably. People just took the stupid rubber mounting off that and just had regular flippers. The problem with that, when you take the rubber mounting of the banana flippers, now you made these flippers so wide apart now because that banana flipper thing added another, I don't know, quarter inch or so of spacing in between your flippers so you can make the saves. Now you have wide apart flippers wider than even a Gottlieb System 1, so it's a lot tougher. So I'm going to go back down to the guy's place in the time warp. I'm going to install a metal rubber post in the middle of the flippers there, like on Nineball or Meteor, to make that a little more easy, because right now it's pretty tough. But that game needed a lot of work and tough. I love doing on these Williams games the MRS conversion, the magnetic read switch conversion for their drop targets, because Williams drop targets suck. They always suck. Yeah, we've talked about that, too. So you bought a bunch of those? Oh, I bought a bunch of those. Pretty much bought stock in that company. I have a crap load of that. Put those in. That's the guy on Pinside, right? Yeah, yep. Troxel. Oh, we talked about him, right. Yep, yeah, he does nice work. So I got a bunch of that. It's all set. And let's see. Did I say about my Flash Gordon, I sold that? I want to say yes. Okay, all right. I don't know if you told me that or we talked about it, but yes, you did. I do know that you told me that. So that's left the building. I just don't remember where. Okay. So that's gone, left the building. I have two more that are going to be minty with brand new playfields. One for me, one's going to be for sale down the road with a nice cabinet and so forth. Let's see. Then we can go to our work. Did you finally get rid of the centaur? Centaur's still here. He wanted me to hold on. Oh, no. Oh, yeah. No more. I'm sorry I asked. I can't believe it's still there. Oh, yeah, still here. He's not ready for it. He wants to wait until the fall to pick it up. So, you know, I basically was going to play a little storage on top of everything because I'm paying big money to store games, so I've got to pass that funnel along to people who want to store games here. So, you know, whatever. so he's going to do that in I don't know October or something come back and get it so that's that then the Flash Gordon workcation out at the D Hotel so when a workcation you know what a workcation is George you've heard that term right yeah well you're going to go do it again this week yeah exactly you're going down to the Cape again the Cape do some more work down there the world traveler so so the d hotel you canceled on these people in vermont is that where you went i did yes so i went i was gonna go went to vermont but i also had i know that i got it my my uh carol merrill over here is pointing me in the right to my secretary has pointed me in the direction here but i'm already i'm already on the road my blinker on so i got it i'm already merging into traffic i understand what's going on so uh we went out there and before we checked in there was another a guy right in East Hampton, Hampton or Hampton, I don't know, but basically it's right near Holy Oak. He had a World Cup, Williams World Cup, early solid state that he bought from somebody and it wasn't powering up all the way. So I just went out there. He didn't have a lot of money, so I just said, we'll do a cheapy thing for you. We'll keep it real light because he was definitely not a man of means at all, very modest house. So I said, we'll just rebuild your power supply and everything else here looks pretty good. Someone did a pretty decent job, but just so you know, I'm not touching anything else in here. If something else goes wrong, you know, that's another service call down the road for you, but right now we'll get you running. So new power supply rebuilt. He's all good to go. Went to check in the hotel. Next day took the hour trip from there to Vermont, worked on that firepower with the drop targets, with the two sets of three drop targets in it that I thought was a prototype, But actually, all these games are convertible to drop targets because there were prototype games, about 100 made until they stopped doing that, put the stand-ups in there. But you can convert all these fire powers to drop target games. You just need the mechs. So someone put these mechs in the game, didn't do the greatest job, didn't use the right parts, just kind of cobbled things together, so I had to take all that crap of power, spent seven hours there working on drop targets, putting the magnetic read switch technology, rebuilding flippers, day spine, blah, blah, blah. And, yeah, it was kind of no cell coverage up in this area for like 40 minutes into the country. And then we got late into the night. We wanted to have some dinner afterwards, and it's like 8 o'clock. And we're leaving there. It's getting dark. I get no cell coverage. It's like, what if we break down up here? How am I going to – I can't even call AAA. Yeah. Am I going to knock on someone's door, you know? hey can you uh call triple a who are you with a shotgun in my face i don't know it's kind of weird so um so that that was interesting um they also uh don't freeze by this so if one wanted to put those mechanisms in a firepower yeah are there donor games that are dogs that one would get those mechanisms from I believe I believe there are can I name them off hand? no that's ok I wouldn't expect you that's a tough question but there are I mean is that what people are doing I'm guessing you can't go to one of the stores and buy them they probably don't have them right you probably go to Junkie Jeff he probably had that stuff that's what Jeff is known for you need something you're going to pay up for it, but he'll have one. It'll be rusted to hell and look like it was beat with a stick, but at least he can get one. I was reading all about doing a conversion on Firepower, and there's a whole write-up on how to do it and why to do it, and actually why the drop targets are better. The game is actually designed in software for drop targets. The stand-ups were an afterthought when the drop target thing wasn't going to work because their assembly sucked and could not take the pounding, and they realized that it was going to fail early. They wanted this to be a really out-of-the-park kit for them, which it was because they did the stand-ups. Now that you have better technology with the magnetic read switch technology, it's a lot better with drop targets. The software actually, it's made, the way it works, it's made to work better with drop targets. It makes more sense. You have to read up on why, but there's a whole diatribe on why it's better. It just makes more logical sense on how the lights work in front of the drops and all that kind of good stuff. so so i'm gonna i'm on the hunt for a couple of those assemblies a three bank drop tires i'm gonna definitely convert i have a firepower i'm gonna do for me i got a firepower i'm gonna do for a customer out in new york i think he's in manhattan um that i gotta do maybe next year sometime so i might actually i might offer it for him on that one too i don't know or i could just do the stand-up thing but i definitely do it for mine to have something different for my game um and after that so that was all on that firepower oh the one thing with the fuck with the house we went to it kind of reminded me of uh the dick van dyke show the dick van dyke show and you see you know you walk down into the living room by a step or two nope not that part the part where you go into where everybody's around and they're on couches and stuff and the coffee table has a big huge ashtray full of cigarettes and and that kind of thing almost like for appetizers this thing he had several big ashtrays full of smoked cigarettes just sitting there unemptied ashtrays with a fan on that must have been fragrant and it was hot and it was like maureen was there she's like get me out of here so i could i could deal with it better than she could it's like i can put up with this for a while so it must have been like a throwback to when you first got your first able to go out bar hopping and I'm guessing, I know what I did, that you could still smoke. That went away, but you come home and you smell like you rolled in the ashtray. Yeah, I remember getting home from a nightclub like that. You take a shower and the whole shower, you smell the nicotine coming off your hair and so forth. You just smell it all coming off. It's like, ugh. Yeah, it was kind of like that. It was kind of like, ah, memories. That sounds like fun. It was a lot of fun. So, went from Vermont back to D-Hotel, next morning went out to New York, upstate New York in your Kingston area, Woodstock, and went to a birthday party, pool party, kegger, a lot of partying, a lot of good food there. And then stopped by on the way home stopped by Dave house you know he does EM restoration and I brought him my personal centaur for him to do a paint job on So he doing that for me And I'm going to trade him one of my extra OXO games I have. Is he coming to Fantastic? Nope. A lot of these people are not coming to Fantastic. You know, let's talk about that for a second. I brought it up in the forum. I'll tell you why, too. I finally found out why. Well, let's put the premise out there first. The premise is the timing this time of year to hold a show right after Labor Day. You say. Right after Labor Day. Yeah, that's it. You're right, because people already used up their vacation for Labor Day. They already traveled. OK, the kids are going back to school. Soccer starts. Right. Starts. Right. You know, whatever other things they do in the fall. I mean, just people become busy. And this was talked about before. And I'm really wondering, although I thought less a couple of weeks ago, David Trachten would get to that in a couple minutes. The number of games was pretty extensive. I was actually quite surprised. Hopefully they all come. But I have some other aspects of the show that I want to talk about. So continue. Is there any other stops that you made in the other games? And we can kind of do some Pintastic stuff, and then we can read some mail and do some cleanup on aisle six. Yeah, so, again, with Pintastic, we last left our heroes here. I guess right now it's a little too far away for some people. We're from Sturbridge to Marlborough. kind of a bridge too far at this point for some of the people out in, some people in New York, some people in Pennsylvania. And as well, they wanted a little more access to the Extra Ball Lounge, a little more unlimited access to the Extra Ball Lounge, and they had limited access by bringing games. So that was a sticking point for them as well. And they're kind of voting with their feet in their checkbook and saying no this time around. So hopefully it gets all resolved by next show in April. I'd like to see those guys still at the show. Well, you bring up a point because with all my grousing and people need to understand, I'm still spending money and time to come to the show for three days. So it's not all negative. I'm coming to the show. Right. People, you know, call balls and strikes. I'm even-handed. I like coming to the show. I like seeing people like you and obviously John Day and others. Things are normally pretty good. The games are good. I love the fact that the vendors bring games. I want to talk about that a little bit. Obviously, we're going to do our review like we do for every one of these fantastic shows of all the games and whether we're going to play them or not in the free play area. It's a good show. But, you know, again, understand, Gabe and or others, that I've made the election to come. I could go to other shows and I am going to another show. But next year, now you're going to be closer to Allentown, which is closer to me. You know, am I going to travel the extra 300, 250, 300 miles to come to your show when they're so close together? Right. And I'm not crapping on them. I'm just saying, you know, people don't have them. I can do it. That's not the issue. It's do I want to do it, and is it worth my while to go do it? That really becomes the question. I think they're only, what, a month apart in April? Are they going to do it? They're close by. And again, I want to talk about this show because I think there's some good aspects to it. I started to allude to the fact that it was becoming the Galactic Tank Force show because they've got John Borg, and I listened to him on, I don't even know whose podcast it is. It doesn't matter. He articulated why he made the game the way he did, and I thought it was a convincing argument. I hope the guy sells a lot of them. I mean, no ill will to him. He's got everybody else from his company, developers and whatever, so it appears to me, and I don't know anything, that Gabe has showcased that game and company, but you have to do something to stand out, right? Right. So, you know, Steve Ritchie's coming. So I don't know if that's a draw or not. I'm guessing it is, right? I mean, do people get excited that he shows up to a show? Yes, so much so that I actually got tapped to be in a documentary, as well as John Deggett tapped as well by Mark Helms. He's doing a part two of a documentary featuring Steve Ritchie and his game. So he's going to be at the show filming? I think a little bit filming at the show. He's going to come to my shop, film me at the shop, and some stories here. He's also going to come with me to a customer's house, which I did a – restored a firepower, and we're going to go to the customer's house, look at the firepower, talk about firepower, all the work I did, and play it, and so forth, and just talk about how Steve Ritchie made the game, and that kind of thing. And that's going to be part of the documentary that we're going to do. Do you, not to interrupt, do you remember the last show, God, they all bleed together, that they were recording in the hallway near the pool? They had a television set up. Do you remember that? I thought we ate lunch over there and they were filming am I pushing two stories together here no that sounds that sounds like it could have been it's probably him it's probably Mark he was doing a part one and doing a part two I think I think I think he was following around Jersey Jack there he was following him around I don't remember but okay so that's probably the guy okay that makes sense so that's cool so this is going to happen prior to the show, after the show, during the show, all of the above? I think all the above. Oh, good. Cool. Okay. Like that. Now, John Borg, he's still at Stern, but he did Galactic Tank Force 2? You know more than me. I don't follow these guys. I mean, I know his name. Have you held a gun to my head? I don't think I – I'll take a guess. Do you work on Star Trek? I know he worked on – I went for name affiliation. He worked on Rush. He did Rush. Oh, he did your game? Oh, your X game? Yeah, X game. Okay. I didn't know that. So, no, I don't think – truthfully, he compared this because – Wasn't he the one who did Whoa Nelly? I don't think so. Do I remember that correctly? No, that's a different guy. That's the guy that did Whitewater, did that game. Okay. I'm all confused. Okay. Never mind. So people like him, too. So they're all excited for him. Yeah, because he was there last year. John Boer was there last year. In fact, I think the same characters were there last year. I didn't know that either. Yeah, because I went for an autograph session with all these guys. Oh, that's right. You did talk about it. See, I forget all that. That's a long – that's way too long ago. I remember that now. You told me that. Right? Didn't you shove, like, a couple of things in front of him, and he was only supposed to sign one? Yeah, that was the guy that did Centaur there. What's his name? Oh, boy. No, no. he did the artwork. It was, hold on, I'll find, wait a minute. So we're really, we're really going off the rails here. Okay. While you're looking, while you're looking. Oh, Catla, Jim Catla. Oh, okay. That's who. Okay. I had to go look at the autograph of my game. There's so much, there's so much data here to remember. That's, that's the problem. A lot of facts. We're not known for that. and people laugh at us, but I can't keep it sorted. There's just too much stuff we've done, and it all bleeds together. Well, you know, I think I'm doing okay because when a customer calls me up and says, yeah, I got this game, it's going to be doing this and that, but, you know, what's the name of the game? Oh, I don't know, but it has this artwork on it, this character. Oh, that's so-and-so. So I know that. So I have an encyclopedia in my head for certain things, but there's only so much room in there to fit stuff. So sorry, I don't know everything. We've talked about this before, too. We record, we listen to it, we flush it. Next. Yeah. Unless I go back and listen, you know, specifically for something. Oh, remind me to bring up Keith Elwin later. Okay. Let's talk about some games at the show. Forget about the list. We're going to get to that in a minute. I have a long list of games that I have not played. I know you haven't either. This was an interesting one. It's on the beginning of the list because I listened to Jeff Teolas' podcast. Have you ever heard of the Punny Factory game? No, right? No. I think I have, but I try to forget it. Interesting guy. Interesting guy to listen to the interview. It's all about puns. I want to play it. I'm not going to draw conclusions until I play it. So that's one game I haven't played. You haven't played it either. At first I thought it was a game for midgets. It was called Puny. But, you know. Little people day. Oh, sorry. Little people day. Sorry. Is dwarf okay? Can you say dwarf? Hobbit? Can you say hobbit? Look, you say, you know what? New strategy to life. You say what you want to say. Okay. I'm done I'm done with the these and they's and those you can't say this you can't say it's like what do you want just why don't you just grab the duct tape and slap it over my face that's what they're working on they're working on sorry that's why I got it all out at the beginning right so that's one game so you haven't played Galactic Tank Force right no no I've seen it played but I have not played it okay we're just going to go through the list so Venom do I want to play it yeah I'll play that I'll give it a play did you play Pulp Fiction I did okay it was okay I don't think that's going to be there I hope it is but nothing I need to know we'll come to that in a minute I just want to go through so how about Godfather was that no not good didn't care no you played it played it stupid game no I think that game's really done poorly I mean, it sounds rightfully so How about Queen? I haven't played it I saw it But when it was at Allentown Oh, it was there Yeah, it was off or something Or it wasn't ready to play It was never really ready for primetize It never really got my hands on it That sounds like a woofer too I think it is going to be a woofer I think it is going to be a woof woof, yeah We talked about this, I think, in the last show It's going to be like Thunder Turrets. I think it's going to be close to that one. Oh, we'll come to that in about a minute. Hang on a sec. So, Fathom Revisited, I didn't see that on the game list either. I don't expect to see it there, but that would be a cool game. I haven't played it. You haven't. That would be really cool if we both got to play that together. Sure. And then you got the multi-morphic game that just came out called Final Resistance. You know, that's the video half- Is that about – wait, is the theme about Ohm's Law? Do you know what Ohm's Law is, George? See, the engineers will know what I'm talking about. Yeah. Can I recite it? No. Have I heard of it? Yes. Resistance, Ohm's Law. That's what I was going to say. Right, Ohm. Okay, okay. There we go. Okay, okay. Make fun of me. Thank you. John Day is laughing right now, by the way, if he's listening. Yes, of course he is. He probably does that a lot with me. So you mentioned Thunder Churds. Yeah. So they got a new game now, Home Pin. They got the Spinal Tap, right? Okay. Do you remember Grant sending you a link or a message to say, have you listened to that podcast? Yes, I remember it. Did I listen to the podcast? He's an interesting guy. I can see why people don't like him. I was like, through the whole thing, I just kept saying to myself, this man put up his own money to have a manufacturing facility to make pinball machines. He can do whatever the hell he wants. You know, you have no, you can comment all you want, like I could, but I was like, okay. And he said, he's like Dr. Death. He had a lot of people die around him. And that's what other people were talking. I heard them talking about it on other podcasts. I'm like, what the hell are they talking about? Then he starts telling stories about, like, you know, close relatives and people dying or people on his staff. I'm like, oh, my God. Well, George. George, are you talking about Dr. Fauci? No, that's the other guy. No. He's Dr. Fauci. He's an Aussie. He's not an American. And the cool thing about this guy, this Mike from Homepin, as he's referred to. I got to pull my notes. Oh, here we go. So he was talking, I was really interested in this. He was talking that he worked at some point in time in his career for a company called Music Time in Australia. And these guys were like a really big, you know, on-premise op. I guess they were known for their jukeboxes. But he was talking about buying games when they first came out. And he said, my boss had a standing order with the distributor. Now, here's an op. He said every time a new Valley game from the late 70s, mid to late 70s on, four immediately. I don't even want to know what they are. Just give me four of them. He said those were the best earners in that time frame. He said that the most reliable games were the Gottliebs from that time. Which time was this from? Which time? The late 70s, early 80s. I wouldn't have thought that. I wouldn't have thought that at all. Unless I got it backwards. I wouldn't have thought that at all. But golly, you can find them in pristine shape because they broke down so early. Right, right. So I must have heard them wrong. But the thing that stood out was the four Bali games every time. I'm like, okay, you're known for jukeboxes, but you still buy pinball machines. Okay, that's not 100. That's not 20. But, okay, four unseen every time they come in, and they were churning them out pretty quick. You know, that's a lot of machines. These are belly games from the late 70s Yes Late 70s, early 80s Standing order Because they made money He said they were big earners Remind me later, that's what I'm working on right now This guy's winning for three years for me I've had this game, a belly night rider The guy's from Ohio And I'm finally breaking ground on it To do a play field swap on it And really restore this game up nice So I'm finally Digging my teeth into it So, yeah, so that's from early – 77, I believe, one of the early first – Yeah, I have one. I've got one. Okay, what else do we have to talk about at Pentastic? Oh, I have a question for you. Yeah. You might know. Is Eric Stone coming this year? He is. No, there you go. Is he doing a seminar like he normally does? He probably is because he likes getting in free. so okay so so guess who else is going to be there doing a seminar john day oh that him too but yeah a tournament player um our neighbor well not our neighbor anymore your neighbor now my neighbor yeah come on uh we used to talk about the lemur time the lemur no the other one your buddy from salem yeah okay yeah he's gonna be there interesting that's good oh no that's good and I saw that Mark is doing the video Mark Helms? help me, backhand pinball oh him, yeah what's Mark's list? Pat Nude? Pat now, right yeah, he's doing the video so that's cool are you going to participate this year or are you going to restrain yourself? in the tournament? tournament, yeah I'll probably I'm going to probably throw a card in. I'm going to do, you know, I'm just going to probably do one. You know other people. You know like Ray Day and others are going to show up. Oh, I know. I want to see how long I'm going to try to play a bank of classics. I'm going to try to put some good scores and just see how long my name stays on the scoreboard. See if I can stay up there. Maybe I'll be a qualifier. I was like I was one year. Do I hope to win it? I really doubt I'm going to win it with so much other, you know, you need to know the encyclopedia book of ramp ramping on the other stuff. Nevermind your flip. What about, what about Benny? Is Benny going to go? Oh, I'm sure. It's right in his backyard. He'll be there. He'll be there with his ramp fingers ready to go. Okay. No, that's good. No, Benny is, Benny is PJ's nephew, right? PJ is Dave's best friend from when they were little. Yes. And I've talked about Benny before Benny's a really good player And PJ wants to play in the tournament as well Okay so he's going to be So the gang's all here I'm trying to get Jeff Blair to go He might go He might come down for it He might participate as well But I don't know It's hard to get him out of Maine And just so you know Just so I can tell you who Jeff Blair is He's the number one player in the world of Missile Command Flipped the game over three times and no free cities. He's the best and the best with the correct big ball, correct slow setting, all that good stuff. He's a really good pinball player, too. Paragon, he flipped it over three times as well. Any ballet table, he can kick butt on. Even Gottlieb stuff. Okay. You've played Pooh Fighters, right? I did. Not impressed. You played Scooby-Doo. I didn't, but I saw people playing, but I have no interest. okay that game seems to get more traction as they put more code in it but i don't really care um never like did you play the james bond game uh i did not play it um i'll give if i can uh did i play that game i think it was being played during allentown i couldn't get in so i wouldn't mind giving that a couple plays just to play it um and it was that it was that one of the breweries so i played it and that's what do you think yeah good game um i'd like to have more time on it so it's like all these games you know you play them once you know you know at a buck a throw or a buck and a half a throw whatever you know you put a couple bucks in it but it's better when you go to a show and that's why people go to shows especially pentastic i mean you know hanging out where all the vendors are they usually have all the the newer games i just went through the list i'm you know i got a bunch i gotta cross off i'm hoping some of those will be there um but you know you get to play them over and over again that's why i got to play all the games we talked about the last time around right you know you were off doing something else but you know i spent an hour or two in there and whatever games open i just started playing more and more of it i mean if nobody came up i played another game you know that's how you get to you know at least try to figure out what the hell you're doing that's how you do it that's how you Right, well that's the way I played when I was a kid. Okay, you want to go through this list? Yeah, go ahead. Okay, comment accordingly. They're going to have an ACDC. Not a bad game. If it's got the bell, I'm going to play it a lot. Yeah, yeah, the bell's kind of cool in there. Aerosmith. Actually, that's a very colorful game. I'd actually play that game. I like that game, too. I don't know anything about the treasure chest thing, if that's only on certain games. But they got two pros. So that's a decent game. Then you got the shark game, Atlantis. That's that Bali game, right? Bali game? Oh, yeah. Yeah, not that great of a game. Okay, and here's one. I own one. You just repaired one, Bobby Orr. I'll play that. I'll play that. See how it plays. Bram Stoker's Dracula. that's actually a fun game too ok I'll have to play that Captain Fantastic actually like I said before that Bram Stoker I actually want to Stoker, Stoker, whatever it's called I want to convert that to the count from Sesame Street so you can go 1,000 2,000 this one Cash Money Millionaire I think that's one of those homebrew games. I'll give it a spin. Centaur, we talked about. I already played that enough. I'm good with that. Although, you know what? I wouldn't mind playing it to see how it compares to mine. Yeah, of course. You want to play it. I'm sure I'll be underwhelmed. Checkpoint. You know what that is? Yeah. Not that great. Here, this is the one I'm looking forward to. These are the kids from the high school. The Circuit Meltdown. Oh, yes. Seems like there's a lot of homebrew games at this show. People want time on their hands, I guess. Is John going to do any officiating? Yeah, he's going to bring that officiating. Yeah, or is it just you and Maureen? Well, I keep trying to get more of a team together again, but hopefully John will help me do the late 80s at least. Okay. So I'm going to try to press him into service. Okay, here we go. Circus Voltaire. Yeah, it is a decent game. Yeah, it's okay. Close Encounters. Meh. Nah. Comet. Nah. Congo. I don't know why people like that game. Not a bad game. It's a hard shot to get the upper right. I don't get it. That game. Cube Wall Wizard. Nah. Cyclone. No. Couple of Deadpools. I don't like that game. Actually, that's a fun game. I kind of like that game. You do? Yeah. That's a creepy game. I don't like that game. Demolition Man no well this one I already know the answer to you don't have to comment dialed in no thanks a pinball machine all about your phone we don't have enough phones already they dialed it in Dirty Harry what a poor execution of a theme you know I love those movies I mean, I'll probably play it just to get some, you know, sound clips out of it. Disney Tron Legacy. I don't even know what that is. All right. Is that just Tron? Well, yeah. So that's Tron. That's a Tron pinball. So that's a fun game. Very desirable game, too. Okay. Those are good money. So I'll probably. Here we go. They had this one last year. Disney's Frozen. Didn't they have that last year? That's one of those Whatchamacallit games Homebrew Yeah homebrew I don't really care for Frozen but Dr. Dude I'll play it I'll play it I just like the colors I was going to convert that game to Dr. Dave There you go Earthshaker Not a bad game Not a bad game A couple of 8 balls I'll play those Eldorado I'll play that I probably should actually pick up a Fonzie 8 ball because Jeff wants one in his collection if I find one for a good price there I'll probably pick it up yeah those always seem to do pretty well but not I don't know I've seen stuff coming on the market now it seems like if you pick through the morass you can find some deals out there I think people are raising cash for a variety of reasons Cool. They're raising cash and raising chickens. They are doing that. Elvira's House of Horrors. I'll play it. I'm actually going to work on one of those real soon down the Cape. There you go. That's cool. family guy uh no I don't need to play it not a bad game there you go Fantastique don't know that one it must be in the Final Resistance we talked about that Foo Fighters we talked about that the Pro and the LE Funhouse and then they got the Rudy Nightmare one you know the Rudy Nightmare with no fan that's a pork secrete don't like that at all they got four of them so I mean have at it pass you're gonna have a Galactic Tank Force so I hope they have the one that looks like a tank. Did I tell you? Good place to insert this. Did I tell you I'm going to Tank Fest next weekend? Galactic Tank Fest? No, I'm going to Tank Fest. Oh, Fest. Yes, you did. Like festival. Yeah. High Speed? Yeah. That's a Richie game, right? It is. Okay. Hollywood Heat. No thanks. Hot Hand. I'll play that. I like that game. Most people don't. Hot Wheels. No. No. Houdini. Master of Mystery. Nah. Don't need to. Hurricane. No. Won't come to Southern. Do you see that on the news? What is it? Going to Southern California tomorrow. What? A hurricane? Yeah. Yeah. I did not hear that. Hurricane Hillary. Hurricane Hillary? I know how much you watch TV. Yeah, exactly. Zero. I know. Hurricane Hillary, right? Yeah, that's aptly named, is it not? Yeah, she kills people. A real blowhard. And she kills people. Yeah. She's really good with bleach. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. And a deletion key. I'm getting back on the negative train Sorry sorry Indianapolis 500 Nah Iron Maiden I'll play that Not a bad game Jackpot No A couple of Johnny Mnemonics I'll play it just because I really haven't played that game that much Just to kind of Everybody always talks about that game I probably should as well I want to see someone convert that to the Matrix and bring that I'd play that instead Well, they're talking about that game being made. Good. It needs to be made. A couple of Judge Dreads. Yeah. Jungle King, Jungle Queen. Jungle Queen. Jungle Queen. That's a fun game. Yeah. Is that the one with four flippers? Yes. I'll play every couple hundred bucks a game. I like that game. Junkyard, which you've heard me talk about. It's the only pinball I've played recently. And with a toilet, again. No, but I like that game. I don't know why I like that game, but I like that game. Jurassic Park, we talked about that. Jurassic Park Premium. Led Zeppelin, El Stinkeroo. Yeah, not that good. Legends of Alhalla, not a fan. No, don't hear it all for that one. Lethal Weapon 3. No, what a dog. Here's to your buddy Linz. Linz 2023 title. That's what it's called. Okay, so To Be Determined or something on that one. I guess he hasn't named it yet. What's a mambo? Don't say Jackie Gleason on The Honeymooners. That must be another. Maybe it's a Caribbean Antonio Cruz that's been upgraded to something. Okay. Here, this is. Ricky Ricardo. Hey, Lucy, home from the club. Maybe it's one of those. Oh, so this is weird. So I don't know what this is. A Metallica Premium Monsters? Oh, yeah. What is it? Got artwork. Different artwork, maybe. I don't know. I don't look, I guess. I'm not a big fan of that game. I know a lot of people like it, but okay. It's okay. Meteor. I'll play that. Yeah, not a bad game. This is the one I don't get. This is from your brethren, Brian O'Neill. Michael Metallica. Oh, I bet you it is. I bet you it is Michael Jackson's soundtrack in a Metallica game. I bet you. Yes. I've heard that before, I believe. To make it kind of wacky. That's very weird. Wacky theme game. Mousing around. Not a bad game. Munsters Pro. Munster? No. Not that good. I love the Munsters, but I don't know. NASCAR, we've talked about that Nah, I've played that enough Yeah, well, it was okay New York, that's the EM, right? That plays like Spirit of 76 and Pioneer At a Ball Night Moves, isn't that the cocktail one? That's a cocktail, a golly cocktail No Fear That's okay Old Chicago If that game is tuned up and plays As a real minty one that's not a bad Player I'll play that if that's in good shape We'll find out Paragon Obviously Phantom of the Opera That's not a bad game either That's a pretty good game What's a pin craft is that another Homebrew I think that one's made out of cardboard And popsicle sticks I'm not sure It wouldn't surprise me Anyway Pop a card? Nah, they're boring. Primus. That's the band contract to make a home game. I don't think I've ever played that, so I'll play that. They did the themes stuff for... Wasn't that like multiple games like Pabst Blue Ribbon and the Dominoes? Did they all share the same platform but the graphics were all different? probably but I know Primus did the theme song for I want to say South Park maybe or for one of those popular cartoons adult cartoon like yeah no I don't know Red and Ted you don't like that do you no okay two of those Rick and Morty not bad I'd probably play Rick and Morty just for the fun it'd be fun to play that game where you could actually hear it you want to hear what's going on. At the show, you're never going to hear it. I mean, you're going to watch it. Riverboat Gambler. Nah. It's okay. Robo War. A lot of people love that game, especially in a tournament. I'll play it just to see what people are saying about it. They love it so much. It's a Gottlieb game, a System 3, I think. Rock Lives. Is that like an old Gottlieb? That's a Gottlieb early... Is that a punk or crap? Kind of a hunk of crap. System 80A or 80B. I hope the person doesn't listen. I'm going to be working on one of those soon. I've got a customer that has a non-working one. I said, I'll do what I can, but either way, you're going to pay me a little something for it, because no guarantee on this one. Three different Rush games. Obviously, you already know what that is. Scooby-Doo, they're going to have one of those. soccer. I'm guessing that's the EM, right? Yeah, not that good. Solar City, I'll play that. I don't care for that. Spider-Man, no, you won't play that. Spider-Man, black suited. Oh, you know what, that's Solar City. That's the story of that. I think that's John Day did the same treatment on that that he did to his Target Alpha. He's going to have his Target Alpha and his friend's Solar City with him to do the seminar to show both games with his super-duper hybrid brainchild. So that's what his seminar is going to be? Yep, yep. Okay, that's a good one. Well, people kind of have heard it here, and then they kind of heard it in that podcast that I talked about earlier, sort of. That was really tech. I mean, he was really going deep. But that was good. I will say we're down to about 30 seconds left in this segment Oh jeez I still got a bunch of games I still got a handful of games Cut it and then we're going to finish up I don't know what else you got You probably have some emails I got more stuff Oh god We'll see you in two and two Okay Alright By the way I'm Halliday I'm Taraday I'm Labor Day And with us now every day is Labor Day Okay, then let's labor. Let's continue. Star Trek. Star Trek Enterprise. Star Trek Next Generation. Star Trek Enterprise. What's that one? Limited Edition. I don't know. I don't know what. Okay. I know those are popular games. There's a split second. That's a term, right? Really? A split second. That's a good, well, it's a rare game. I'll play that because you don't see that that often. Yeah, I'll play that. Star Wars Limited Edition. Now, some of these games might be in the tournament that the regular people can't play. I bet you the split second's in the tournament. You think so? I'm thinking so. It should say next to it. It should say a little code next to it. I don't have that in my car. I got it on my phone, so I just have the list. Okay. Well, hey, we'll go to the show. We'll tell everybody what the games are, or they'll be published at some point in time. Do they usually do that just before the show? I think so, right? They're on the website. I think it has a whole list and where they're going to be. Right, I didn't see any list for the tournament games, not yet anyway. I could have missed that. Well, they're not going to give you a list. They don't want to put that out there until right before. They don't want people practicing and knowing what's there. They want to surprise people. The good thing about what they do there, what Jim Swain does and his crew, is they pride themselves on every year it's a completely different lineup. There's no game done twice so far. Yeah, and they balance it out pretty well with classics and moderns. Yeah, they do. They balance it out pretty well, so that's not bad. A little something for everybody. How about this one, Starship Troopers? Nah. The movie was horrible, and the game, who cares? Stingray. A nice older Stern that I wouldn't mind, especially if it's in nice shape. I'll play that. I bet you that one's going to be in the tournament. I bet it's another one they'll probably pull off. I can see that in the next tournament. Superman. Obviously, we've done a show on that. Yeah, I'll play that. I bet you it won't be in that great a shape, but prove me wrong. Maybe it will be. Tales from the Crypt. No. not really Tales of the Arabian Nights very pretty game I'll probably play it I'll play a game or two of that here's John's game Target Alpha Hybrid yeah that's his game which is in the John Day show whichever one two ago I guess Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I already know you hate that yeah not a big fan yeah you didn't like that game when we were out in Ohio you hated that game Okay. You hated most of the games out in Ohio. Let's be truthful. Let's be honest. Terminator 2, Judgment Day. It's okay. Okay, so I got an idea, but it's not the right environment, unfortunately. Remember I told you that we should really do a show on the Addams Family and Twilight Zone? Well, they're both going to be here, and John's going to be there. but the problem is they're going to be in the main room probably everyone else is going to be there so you can't do that so the Addams Family yeah people like it you're like me yeah we'll do it but you know it's been so done so many times yeah it's old The Adventures of Sinbad that's just not Sinbad is it? Is that a different game? Well, you know what? I bet you it's the one that someone brought to Allentown. It had the LCD screen on it, and it had every corresponding movie clip. Yeah, so that was interesting. It's kind of a homebrew thing, like a hybrid homebrew thing, kind of interesting how they coordinated things with that. So that was kind of interesting. Yeah. Okay. The Avengers Infinity Quest. Is that like the guy with the bowler hat and Mrs. Peel? who no no it's the marvel thing and how about the hobbit smog uh there's too much smog these days the forest fires and crap so i'm not really down with that uh the incredible hulk yeah incredible hulk way uh which one the original gottlieb probably maybe maybe not lord of the rings i play If it's the original God, I'd play that one. Lord of the Rings, nah. A lot of people like that, too. Two Shadows, The Shadow. Nah, I don't like the whole stupid flip your little saber thing. The Simpsons, which just repaired two of them. Yeah, nah, I don't need to. The Walking Dead, we talked about that earlier. Ugly-ass game. Ugh, it looks like a... Right, but you said you liked playing it. No, I never liked playing a game. It looks like a guy would throw up on it. But that's what you said! The throw-up game. Okay. No, I don't like that game. No way. The Wiggler. No, it's a Williams EM from the mid-'70s. Wizard of Oz. Maureen likes that game, but I don't need to play that one. I want to play it again. I haven't played it since Allentown. I don't think. You never see – I mean, most people would not bring that game to a show. No. Is that one of the ones Gabe owns maybe? Could be. it could be one of his. He's bringing the special. But it says in the free play area. Oh, well. This is the free play. I'm guessing. I don't know. Okay. Alright. Well. We'll find out. Theater of Magic. Not a bad game. That's kind of fun. A little good flow. Here comes an El Stinker. Toy Story 4. Ugh. Nah. Flush it. Other than the ramp. The ramp's a cool thing. Flush that game. You didn't like that jump ramp thing? I like that. I don't like Tom Hanks or anything about him, so no. Okay, so no. Transformers. Limited edition combo, whatever that is. Very appropriate these days, but no. I think you might have got the back end of that word wrong, but anyway. Oh, sorry. Yeah. Anyway You always have to be topical Don't you I do We're going to come to a topical It's on my list I have a short list after this What else Twilight Zone we talked about I do want to play that Because I haven't seen one of those in a while At a show Which one Twilight Zone Yeah I'm not a big fan Especially if it's done right, it plays well. Yeah, good game. We'll find out. I got a couple. Twister. Twister. No. Victor. What's Victory? Oh, that's a Gottlieb game, I think. It sounds bad. It's bad. It's from when Gottlieb made really crappy crap in the early 80s, yeah. Okay, that sounds bad. Warhammer 40,000. That sounds like a homebrew to me. That sounds like that as well. Whirlwind. Nah, it's all right. WHO dunnit? Not bad. I like mine. I don't know if I'm going to like this one. Still one of the highest rated shows we've done. Stupid. WHO dunnit? That's one of the highest rated shows? I think it's in the top five. Wow. Amazing. Now's a good time to talk about that just real quickly. That's pretty good. We only have one. Well, let's complete the list, and I'll come back to that in a second. So you got Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I don't like that game. not like either no wizard i like i kind of like i'd play that i'd play that world poker tour no and wwf royal rumble don't think so no uh yeah WHO dunnit but i think that's in the top five I don't want to pull that screen up. Wow. But Keith Elwin, number two show behind Harlem Globetrotters. Is that six? Wow. So, yeah, you called it. You thought that didn't do as well at first, and then it climbed up, I guess, huh? To number two. Wow. Pretty good. I like it. Yeah. Like I said, I think that show's got legs. Yeah. So yeah He's got a ways to go He's got a ways to go to catch Harlem But could be You never know Okay what do you got You got some email Oh I got a little more of the rest of the story With the Nantucket Captain from Hell Saga That actually had to come back here Had to come back for Regrooving as they call it on Fireside Theater, regrouping. I guess with the volume of games you do, you have to have a couple of games to play. The problem is, yeah, he only has one game. This game, you know, I did my best with it here, but he put a rush on it. I didn't get to really play test it a lot like I wanted to. He wanted it back for a party. So I sold it before. I sold the wine before it's time is what I did, you know. Then he had to go on a boat. It had to go on a long boat. Yeah, no, everybody's heard the whole sound. Bumped around. It's a pain in the ass. You told him another game, didn't you? Well, I did. Well, here's the thing. So I walked his boy Friday through a couple repairs over there on a Zoom call, and he kind of has a decent clue. The kid does. He's a young kid. But he got things wrong and blew some stuff. Then he's a little bit, a little heavy-handed on tightening down the rod and ring assembly on the pop bumper. He took it all apart, and he goes, uh-oh. I go, what? Oh, I just tightened down the screw too much. It broke off one of the threads. It was an accident. Completely unintentional. Could have happened to anybody. All right, at least it has one on there. okay you need one out of two so it should work okay and he went to tighten the other one uh-oh the momentary loss of muscular coordination you gotta be you broke both of them now this thing now you're really screwed with pop-up you have nothing to make that water ring come down to hit the hit the ball and the pop-up is not gonna work at all i said okay here's what you're gonna do go to the store get some jb weld i'm gonna have you use a two-part epoxy weld that crap together Weld it on Glue it on man Is that game coming back to you Well it actually that worked Until he screwed up another thing on it So So it came back And I told the guy I said listen I have your Rolling Stones All good to go Why don't you just bring Mr. Boy Friday Back here with the captain Let me have it for a while I'll go through find all the gremlins Let's fix all the little things wrong. This way I can have some more time with it and do my thing with it. And here's a nice Rolling Stones. It won't give you any problem. It's a solid state. And I've gone through that and play tested all new boards in it. And so that's what he did. So he brought that back with him and gave me the captain. And I've been going through that. And now the captain's playing fantastic. Get it? Oh, stop. Oh, it hurts. Doesn't it hurt? but uh it really is so uh and then they want to say can you um while you're at it can you fix on these on the back of all these ballet games they had fall particle board in the back of them and they either got wet over the years or someone stepped on the back of it always got chewed up on the back or they handled it wrong so it's like all right that wasn't really in the scope of the original thing we did that you wanted me to do but okay so i'm throwing all this extra work in and i just did that and that came out great too so the back is all complete solid you know working really well. So now I have it set up and that's working great. Rolling Stones is over there, but I never heard, I didn't hear crap from him at all. Oh, the game looks great. Oh, I'm playing. I guess no news is good news. He doesn't seem like he's going to fawn over you at this point. No, no. I have to earn back my rep, I guess. Whatever, which is fine. Great. Have the Rolling Stones, then you're going to get a nice captain back, and supposedly he's going to want a Gorgar down the road, which I have one in the wings waiting. Oh, jeez. Yeah, but the Gorgar, I have those nailed down, all the William stuff. I know all the technology. That thing needs lots of technology to make that noise reliable, but I have all that, so no problem there. What about the 1-amp fuse? Oh, yeah, so I did a modification on this captain. Just for things like this one, it's far away, hard to get to. So on these Bally games, they put in a 5-amp fast-blow fuse to cover all the DC rectified solenoids in the game, which are three pop pumpers and two kickers. And they have lots of power in them. They don't have the AC stuff like the rest, like the flippers do. You know, AC is kind of buzzy and not that powerful. So the problem is they put a higher value fuse than really is what they should have done when they engineered the stupid thing. So the 5-amp fuse will blow after you burn out a coil. The coil is totally roached and toasty, and then the fuse blows. Well, that's not really how you design a circuit. The fuse should belong first. So what I did with his game, just to make it a little more reliable, and just in case something goes whoops, is I broke out all the solenoids, all five solenoids in the game, and I put in separate fusing for each one of them. So each one of them has a one-amp slow blow, and I purposely tested it this time. I actually took a junky coil, put it in my hand, jumped it over there, held, I put a one and a quarter amp fuse in there first as it would work, held the switch down and heard the thing go, like for like four seconds the fuse didn't blow, I said okay, not good enough, I put a one amp slow blow in there, held it down for four seconds it sat there buzzing, a little bit warm and then it blew, I said perfect, so now if he does have a problem in the future it's going to blow a fuse not wreck his solenoid not wreck his game and he can still play the game anyway, but hopefully never has a problem. But I want to make sure this game is like idiot proof works, you know? I guessing you looked at that long and hard and said I got to do everything I can possibly do so if they do mess it up It not coming back Correct and including There another little thing in the game too I noticed it wasn Quite it's like oh this is going to be a problem too there's this little This little like clutch thing That makes the score motor run you know The score motor in the game So it's a little like a winding Thing that gets when it gets turned on It sucks in goes in There's a gear on it and it turns the score motor So it gets sucked in so there's supposed to be a little spring on it, you push on it, and it goes in and out, in and out. And I pushed on it, and it's kind of going in and out slow. It's like all sticky. It's like, well, that's going to screw up over time. It's not going to work right. So I took all that apart. I actually took it to a buffer, cleaned everything, buffed everything to a mirror shine, put a little bit of lube on it. Now that thing is – You really don't want it to come back. I don't want it to come back. I don't want to see this thing ever again. I want this thing to be good over on the island for a good long time. I hope he doesn't want any more EMs because I'm going to give him solid states and no EM. I never sold this thing. He bought this thing from some eBay guy a while ago. It was barely hanging on, and I had to work miracles on it so far. So that's that one. Rolling Stone, let's see. Let's see. Anything else in there? Hold on. Let me look. Oh, no, no, no. Let's go over to Maine. We visited Jeff Blair in Maine. Again, number one missile command. Workation, of course, yeah. Worked on all five of his games. The games were all down. I haven't seen him for a long time. Been to his place a long time. So worked on his top score. Got that working. He had a Space Invaders pinball. He had a Supersonic, Genie, and what else did he have there? Paragon. So all those games were down. Got them all up and running. So that's five games I did within about a couple hours. That was a new record. and then he wanted to trade his Supersonic with my friend PJ for his pinball pool so I brought the Supersonic back with me and I'm going to give that to PJ and then pinball pool is going to come here I'm going to do my thing with it and give that back to Jeff he's going to get a pinball pool Supersonic trade and then do you want to go from that do you want to go to a little podcast mail viewer mail yeah go ahead before you do that yeah did you send me a song at one point in time in this podcast that did letters we got letters every day yes? no okay I sent you something else I know that but it's been ringing in my head late night radio never mind I thought, because I've heard it several times now and I keep saying to myself, I wonder where that's from. I thought Dave sent me something like that, but it was a completely different song. Okay, never mind. Continue. You've got letters. I've got one. Okay. But I'll let you go first. All right, so our friend John Jolly, Mr. Oyster, down the Cape. Yes. He wants us to go down and visit him. He's going to take us on an oyster Antonio Cruz and do the whole oyster thing and have some beers and do the oyster thing. So he wrote me and said, Dear Doc Dave, when are you guys coming? Welcome one, welcome all. I may not be short. I may not be tall. But, yes, I have oysters for one and for all. He's such a poet. He is so off the wall and funny. He's a funny guy. then I told him I had to go I had to do a little surgery lately that's kind of keeping me you know from going too far from home kind of deal for a little while but it's still getting worked anyway but so he heard about that so he said he wrote back also say hey I'm sorry for your pain with the surgery but I'm glad to hear that you're that I'm not the only one suffering yeah old Chicago that I have here the pop-up or issue firing the fuse which everything worked fine until I replaced the spoon so I'm assuming maybe the leaves are touching each other I don't what the F I did. So again, this is the same system as Captain Fantastic. The same situation, the pop-up are blowing and the fuse, you know what I mean? He has the same problem. All these stupid ballads from this time frame, they didn't fuse the game properly from the factory. They didn't break it out. So I'm going to probably do the same thing to his game I did to this game. So he said, I want to take a peek at, I want you to also take a peek at Firepower 2 I have, see what you think. I'll have cash so that my wife doesn't know that you're taking away from her kid's college fund. Unfortunately, I don't think it's going to happen in the near term. Timing is not good on a lot of different fronts. If I have time and I'm in the right frame of mind and I don't mind riding a little bit with my issues I got with the healing thing. We'll see. But I'm going to try to. But he said, we'll have fun at the farm and I move my pinball into my music room. Feel free to bring whoever you and George would like to bring. I'll make some sauce for you guys. That said, Oysters Rockefeller. Sorry, that was awesome. You guys to take home with some oysters. If you think firepower is worth doing anything with, I'd bring it up to your place for you to work on there. Would be no rush or you thought it was necessary. Boy, I need to beep this one. How would I say this? I have a – what's the PC term for this? Well, all right, I'm just going to say it. I'm going to go old school. We'll see. I have a retarded friend the size of Andre the Giant that would be more than willing to help me move it for a six-pack of beer and some snack cakes. That's him talking. That is awesome. There are some people that aren't into all the words. There are some people that would have you not use certain words. I don't know. Is that okay to say? I don't know. Probably not. But I know what you put there instead. What's the PC term for that? On the spectrum friend? Yeah, probably. I have a friend. Let me redo. I struggled with it today. Trust me. you don't have to hear the story, but I struggled with the same thing today. I'm like, oh, I don't even know what to say. And somebody chimed in and said, oh, they're on the spectrum. I'm like, oh, okay. It's so silly. We all know what it is. You know, whatever. You know, it's like. Right. Every time I hear that, I'm like. You know what? Where's the pinball? I don't see them playing that. And like I said, you know, there are no bad words. Oh, boy. You didn't even react. There are just bad intentions. You didn't even react. I missed it. Say again. Go ahead. What were you saying? No. I said, on the spectrum, I said, I didn't see a pinball. I didn't see anybody playing a pinball. Ah, boy. It was bad. It was bad, but it just went right by. That's the reason why I missed that. Like that supersonic. It just went right by. Right by. Yeah, another one. Look at you go. Jets? this is a good spot to introduce a couple of things so we're staying temporarily in Manassas, Virginia, we're in the flight path for Dulles, name a plane I must have seen it, today, because it was so clear I sat for five minutes, it was like one or two every minute going by, big, small, leer, fast jumbo. It was crazy. Wow. Every day. But I'm renaming Virginia it's no longer called the land of the data center. It's called the land of the dump truck. What about the land of the skywriting? Any skywriting, George? No skywriting. But the land of the dump truck. During the week, because they're building all these data centers, I was going to say something else, but building all these data centers, the new game is how many dump trucks are in a row? I've gotten up to seven. Wow. And there's more. I mean, it's a short commute to my son's house. It's not uncommon for me to see 50 or 60 dump trucks. Wow. And it's a 15-minute ride. Wow, that's a lot of dump trucks. people just don't get it and I get it I've never seen anything quite like it but it's now Virginia is the land of the dump truck okay well that's something to hang your hat on okay do you want to talk about something else in Virginia that you brought to my attention that I was already aware of Virginia and Maryland being close together No That song that you liked from Oliver Anthony Oh that guy yeah Yeah you like that I do like that song That's what a lot of people like that song It resonates well with people Number one on Apple Okay You got another email because I got one I just wanted to talk about it Yeah That's the one George was saying What's that She was reminding me, what about that song in Virginia with that guy? It's like, yeah, that's one. Yeah, the Richmond. The Richmond north of Richmond. North of Richmond. Right. Yeah, yes. Which means, you know, the stupid people run this country. It's a new song. Right. It says it pretty well. Yeah, he sums it up quite well. Yeah, I got a couple. So I do have a new segment for our show. You do? Yeah. Cooking with Dr. Dave Uh oh What'd you cook? Well Blueberry pancakes You wouldn't believe But would you think You actually As part of the ingredients You'd put apple cider vinegar In the mix? You do Apple cider vinegar Is part of the ingredients In this pancake mix Why? I don't know Something about it To combine with something else That makes them kind of special Makes them fluffy Makes the pancakes extra fluffy If you like fluffy Okay Okay Then okay I'll let Janice know. All right. I get a whole recipe on that, too, from the guys over at, what's that syrup place? Tree Juice. Tree Juice. Tree Juice Syrup Place. They're the ones that came up with the recipe, so that was interesting. Okay. Good syrup there. Good homemade maple syrup, different flavors. I'm going to, that's a good segue, I'm going to a pancake breakfast tomorrow at the firehouse in the town I'm moving to. All right. They're raising money for a new fire truck. Are they going to have real maple syrup or high fructose syrup? No, I said that to Janice today. I have a little bottle in the pantry. I'm like, hmm, that probably wouldn't go over well. I can't bring that. Why not? Bring the good stuff. You're going to be there. No, you're not. You're going to have enough visibility. Okay. I got an email. All right. You'll like this. Somebody else is going to like this. So this comes from RedKig9084. Hi, guys. Just wanted to reach out and say I love the show. All right. I like how you guys have a different approach and have a bit of everything. Yeah, there we go. He gets it. You guys work well together and hope you keep it up. Also wanted to say that I love the recent episode with John Depp. All right. I hope that he'll keep making appearances on the show and maybe, drum roll, even become a permanent fixture or host. Oh. Yeah. Right. Have you thought about that? Yeah. He'd be a great asset to the show. Tell me something I don't know. It took a while for John to warm up, but he came around, and he's very good at what he does. IMO, in my opinion. Anyhow, cheers and hats off to you guys. So that's Red Key. That's nice. Very nice. So, John, you're not getting my job anytime soon, but trust me. You can react when I say that. He's a good recurring guest. He has a lot to say. He has a gift to Gabby. He's very technically savvy. So you're going to throw me under the bus and get rid of me? Yeah, I think so. You're going to be replaced. No, George, no one can replace you. So would I be more upset if I had a chatbot replace me or John Depp? I would say the only thing that chatbot, chatGBT, the only thing that's going to replace, well, for instance. It could replace me. yeah you have to be predictable so soap opera scripts predictable chatbot uh anything the news all the news stuff chatbot the same thing orange man bad on that side and brandon bad on the other side same crap different day no problem so okay i i have one uh uh email here from uh from todd he says hello dr d a quick question listening to the recent centaur revisited episode and you mentioned some blackout film for LED displays, which are specifically helpful for the Wolfpack displays. Could you point me where you got it? I didn't see anything on their site about it. I'm building some Wolfpack displays for my space shuttle, and I already have some on my space station. I, too, am annoyed seeing the unlit segments, you can see. Thanks for the help. So I told them where to get them and that kind of thing. So, yeah, so I'm glad to help people with that because a lot of these places don't really offer that, the sticky back smoke gray film that just really blacks it out nice. so only the lit displays come through and you can't see the lit segment. So it works really well. So that was that. I have another. I don't have it open, but I have another email. Sure. From Dave Golden up in Maine. You remember him, don't you? No, Dave. Right? Isn't that his name? Wait, no, he's not in Maine. Or is he in New Hampshire? No, no, he's down near us. He's down near. Oh, he is? Yeah, he's down in. Oh, when did I think he was in Maine? Well, you know what? He has a place up in Maine on the water. Oh, okay. That's what I thought. And he also has a place down near me, down like about 40 minutes away. Yes, Terry. I'm looking for you now. He has a lot of EMs, and he fixes amplifiers and stereo equipment. He's a pretty talented guy. Yeah, well, I guess better late than never. But he said something to the effect of, oh, I'm listening to your latest episode. This was a couple ago. and he said oh it's too bad i didn't know that you wanted to take your jukebox apart he goes i've just done that and had it moved in pieces because of the weight he goes i could have helped you you know through that process i'm like yeah that ship set that ship set sail it's gone but would you would you have would you have done that if that was possible would you have taken it And we've talked about this and I've talked about this so many times. We were kind of six weeks, Dave. It was just like get it in a box and get it out the door or get it in the car and take it to Goodwill. It was. You couldn't. There's no time. You could not do it. It's too cramped. Just too much stuff and too little time. Yep. Yep. Couldn't do it. So we're going to go through the second purge when we get to our new home. That's when the boxes come in and boxes are again going to go out the door. that's going to be the next, you know, because we've got to open every box and look through it. So that's the time to start throwing stuff away again. Cool. So you got any more emails? I do. Not an email, but I also will tell you a little story from today. So today we wanted to go, I wanted to go basically on a raw milk expedition to get some real unpasteurized milks. I've had it before in the past. And I said, you know, I've been spending good money, like $6 for half a gallon of grass-fed organic pasteurized, which is a lot of money. It's like, well, I'm spending that much already on pasteurized. I want to get the unfiltered raw stuff. And there's a lot of good, if people look into it, people might say, oh, that's poisonous. I won't drink that because you have to have pasteurization. No, BS. No, look into it, folks, and look about it. It's like if you drink pasteurized milk, it's dead milk. Raw milk has all this stuff that's good for your gut bacteria, that kind of thing. Very beneficial for your skin and other things. So it's a big movement on. But it's like trying to get drugs because there's a stigma about it. It's like trying to do a drug deal, and you have to have a certain license to sell it. It doesn't sell in stores. You've got to find farms. So we went on a trip today, like an hour trip to drive up northwest of here, a couple different farms. And one of the farms had A2 Jersey milk, which we wanted to get that because that's the one that the milk separates. So you have real cream on the top and milk on the bottom, and you pour it off for the top part and your coffee, and the other part you put in your cereal. But they were out, and they already said reserved and all of them. People want this stuff so bad, they reserve it about a month ahead of time. So we couldn't do that. Next Farm had it. But there were a lot of big things, so we got the small little things. But $3 for a pint, usually it's $10 for a gallon there. I said, whatever, I'll just like, I'll overspend because I want the stuff. The difference is if you put two of these in front of you, you put the raw milk glass, the raw milk in front of you, and a glass of pasteurized in front of you, you smell them both. The pasteurized smells kind of like poo. The unpasteurized smells like poo. It does. It really does. The unpasteurized has no smell at all to it. There's no smell at all. So I'm going to do this to my family. I'm going to bring them both down there. I'm going to do a blind taste test and a blind smell test. They're not going to say, which one would you want to drink? You know And then I can I want to hear this story Okay I want to hear this story And I used to drink almond milk And even try oat milk If you do the research on oat milk There's a lot of bad mojo A lot of seed oils in oat milk Because oat milk is Do not get that You know If you're going to drink any of that stuff Almond milk is a little bit better for you But oat milk No A lot of bad things with oat milk Do some research on that too You'll see Do some reading But that is the nutrition segment of our show Okay, I haven't done one in a while I've got an animal segment Oh One more thing What'd she say? Yes She wants to remind me of things So the trip to go away to the snow The quick little side thing Went up there, a little nice drive today And all of a sudden all these motorcycles came out of nowhere A whole bunch of them Zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom And a cop was leading them with a motorcycle cop with the lights flashing, and there's a big gap between them. So we went in between them, and now we're part of the whole parade of bikes, probably miles long, and we see a cop. He's right behind me with the lights going, too. It's like, should I pull over? Should I stay in line with these guys? I couldn't. There's a small street. I couldn't pull over, so I just kept going. It's like, this is not a relaxing ride to go get some milk. First of all, we're going to get some milk like we're doing a drug deal, and now I've got a cop sitting back at me, and it's like, should I pull over? So it added a little tension to the nice, relaxing ride in the country day we planned today. But that's what she wanted me to mention as well. So go on. What were you going to say? Okay. So I have an animal story. And one thing, we're at the four-minute mark right now. Okay. Real quick. I have an animal story. Do you know what an Australian cattle dog is? No. Okay. Okay. There is a part of that breed called the blue heeler. like your heel of your foot. This dog in my neighborhood is named, is it Boba Fett or Boba Fett? She called him Boba. He's going for the Guinness World Book of Records for continuous tennis ball catches. She's got this tennis ball machine that launches tennis balls like four feet in the air. Oh, that's fun. I want to see that. That'd be cool. I was on Instagram yesterday. I walked right through the shoot. She's like, I'm like, oh, wow, what's this? Oh, you got a camera. Oh, oh. I go, did I? Dad, don't worry about it. Just, you know, move forward. Anyway, so that's my story. Go see. His name is Boba. He's on Instagram. So B-O-B-A. There's another dog, similar story as well in my old neighborhood. He had a low record for continuous barking. and then you moved yeah we moved okay I don't have any other stories so you want to sign us off yeah same we got emails or web addresses or yeah yeah yeah sure yeah so you want to check out my website pinballdoctor.com all spelled out go there and see the latest and greatest You can see the podcast episodes there. You can see what we're up to. You can see the latest games we're working on. You can inquire about all my games in the restoration queue. Just type that in, all my stuff, any game I've just restored. I do a whole full video on that, on gameplay and what I did to it. So we've got that there. And I think that's it, right? that and the yeah three three things there a mayor just came to the door trying to go for mayor and talked to him about my pinball business and he said uh it's like oh you're on instagram it's like no i'm really not i don't do much of the other i got enough going on so he really wants me to go on instagram so i don't know maybe someday i might throw my hat in the instagram ring but i don't know i get uh i got enough coverage so far but that's okay those who want to get in touch with me or Dave, the classic pinball podcast, numeral one at gmail.com.
