## Transcript

Maybe this is the, you know, this is the, this is the rhythm that we've developed here. I like that plan. Hold on. Okay, bear with us. We're seeing what games are going on. These Canadians, they're smart. And they're very polite and nice. And they're very polite. And they'll teach you all about curling. He doesn't want to talk curling, which makes me sad. Where is this event taking place? We are at Flipper Spiel Underground in Vegas. And it is literally underground. There is no sign above the building. We drove around until we saw people, and we're like, oh, wait a minute. There's people we know. Sorcerer's pretty early in the game. Okay. There's just a bunch of other weird stuff. All right. Let's go back to Sorcerer because Debra likes all Sorcerer all the time. For someone that was asking for abracadabra, there's some kind of malfunction or mechanical thing that they're looking at right now. They want to see it get fixed by Becker. I believe we are watching Pete and Jack right now. I don't know. Well, maybe it'll tell me. Let's bounce back over to the Nationals. Don't know where they're at in the match right now. This might be their first game. It might not be. Pete is, once again, representing West Virginia. and Jack, I believe, is he representing Ontario? Yeah. He's representing New York State, actually. Oh, is he really? Yeah, he is, yeah. Oh. Yeah. Oh, okay. Because the state championships were held in Buffalo, which is, of course, closer for him to attend, and a lot of the guys from New York City go to New Jersey to go and play in the New Jersey state championships. Wow. Yeah. Yeah, because I know I saw Jack up at a league in Toronto about two years ago when I was playing up there, so I would have thought he went that way. Yeah, we have a few Canadians here. We had, I think the only provinces that didn't show were Manitoba, Prince Edward Island, because they don't really have a scene, neither does New Brunswick, and the Northwest Territories are, you know, they're just too wild for pinball machines. They'd probably break them down for parts. But no, they don't have the population base to get a scene going, really. You might have something in one of them, like Whitehorse or a place like that, but yeah, it's hard-pressed. Just getting the machines up that far north, like the Northwest Territories are significantly more north than most of the Canadian population. Yeah, didn't they do a couple of Ice Road Trucker seasons up there? Yeah, they did. So getting anything up there is very costly. Anyway, let's get back to the action here. I don't know. Can't bears play pinball? I mean, why not? No, we've got to wait. Do we have an update on Doug Teal? Anyone? Update on Doug Teal? Update on Doug Teal, anyone? one yeah doug teal no uh looks like doug lost to chris stevens uh the brackets are on the ifpa pinball website so you can uh go over there and look at the live brackets so and it looks like pete and jack just finished game two or is that three game three oh that's a good question what's up with the dead ball after each ball with some of these solid states uh Only players one and three are actually working. So what we're doing in the tournament is only playing those players and then just plunge through players two and four. And from what I understand, that prevents tilt through. That's exactly right. It's advantageous to have it in that kind of format. Okay, right now we are watching Fred and Preston. We are watching Fred and Preston, I believe. We saw Preston earlier, which means Fred is playing his ball. Look at that guy dance. He means it. He means it. Oh, that's Chris. Chris Compton is representing Virginia. He frigging means it. Yes. It's been a long day, guys. I'm glad we had a chance to see that. Oh, that made my day. Yeah, that is a fun thing that you'll see at some of the tournaments, how these guys and gals dance and play. I mean, watching some of the moves on. I think dance is a bit of a stress. I'd like to call it involuntary spasms or seizures. You have never seen John Replogle play. I don't know. We have a kid or a guy in our league, Anthony. He hasn't played in a little while, but Anthony's antics can get pretty funny. Well, what I was going to say is, John, you know he's having a good game because he does start dancing. That's pretty cool. So when he starts the dancing, you know good stuff's going to happen for him. Playing against someone who's going in full-on, like hitting the Macarena right in the middle of playing, I think that'd be a bit distracting, hard to handle. I had that happen. What is the gentleman doing there? Was it just because he, did he just win or something? Who? I didn't know why they were talking and why he stopped playing. Didn't you say that that was his? Yeah. Okay, so he had gotten up and over. Or maybe he. I'm going to go and see what's happening. I don't know how many wins the two of them have. Carl's sitting back down. Carl, are you done for the day? No, I'm not done. You're just chiming in. I'm three and two against Luke. And what are you waiting for? Sorcerer. Ah. Which has a long line, I believe. Or it did. Yeah, Robin and Michelle are on it right now. All right, so where are we here? We're on Abra. Abra, and we're waiting for Priyanka and Hannah to stop. Can we check on Abra? We're on Abra. Yeah, so. I wish Josh and Zach were updating the brackets a little quicker. Like I said, just blame Josh Sharpe. Yeah, Jeff Teolis likes to do that. All right, so we're not, this is Abra. Yeah. We just need to change it from Fred. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That was your job. It's fun, all this stuff, isn't it? So many things to juggle. Honestly, I like how smooth and easy it seems to switch around. Yeah, that thing's, you know, fantastic, the stream deck. Yeah. Helps out so much. If you would see the stream deck, it's like, what, 15 buttons, and it has all the games. It has, you can, in between switching, you can go to the brackets, or you can see us, which none of us really want to be seen, but, and then we can change things, and it's just, it's a phenomenal setup. So next time you see Carl, say thank you, and next time you see the Papa team, thank them for all the hard work they do setting up. It's great to have support by all these guys that want to do streams. Because in case you didn't know how expensive it gets, it gets expensive. All right, here we go. Yeah, if you're wondering, each player does get a 30-second warm-up. So it may have looked like she restarted. No, she did it. She already passed by it. Yeah, that's why I said if it looks like she restarted the game, that's why she did a 30-second warm-up. You caught me? Tight quarters here. Yeah, we're very tight, and we have a fridge next to us, which some of the players are storing things in. Nice. Nice. trying to catch it just at the wrong moment come on bounce curiosity is the ball count on the back glass on this one or is it on the it is on the ball The back last. Let me see. Because some of these EMs do have them on the, I'll say the play field for lack of a better term. The cabinet. I don't think I can do it here because I've zoomed in on the scores. That's all right. That's fine. It was a curiosity question. We'll just have to count in our heads. I've already lost count. Three. My body's still adjusting to the time change because it's been a long time since I've been out to this end of the world. Oh, ouch. The left flippers, you have to hit it a lot earlier, I noticed, when I played this game. I wasn't, you know, my shots when I expected them to go here, they were going there. so you know maybe the flipper is changed throughout the day it's a good catch or it could be the same strange geometry yeah Nice. All right. Get that drop. Oh, that's nice. Nice. That's a good consolation prize. Oh, yeah. All right. There it is. Center shot. Resets the targets. There you go. Boom. Rinse and repeat. Nice. Unfortunately, none of them have been lit. Which means she's chopping some serious wood. Still just got a nice running ball. Yep. The pump bumpers add up very quickly. Yeah. Good eye. All right, come on. Got one. So we did determine the light on that one pop bumper is out? Yeah. Okay. Well, it's been coming on. It's on and off. Yeah, it's sporadic. She's got to be feeling better after that last ball. Allie, Allie, Allie. Oh. Oh. All right, 55,090. Well, she stepped away, so that must be, that must have been ball five. Yeah, that was it. All right, and Priyanka we watched earlier rolled us, So, see if she can do it again. So someone says, what controls the thousand dollar, or thousand dollar, the thousand point popper value? Is it like every fifth hit? That is their guess. Isn't it the slings? Or didn't we say it was like, oh. Well, it alternates with switches once it's lit, but I don't remember what actually lights it to start with. Ah. Yeah, Priyanka is part of the Pennsylvania contingent. Although she's wearing a Cleveland pinball shirt, so she probably plays up there occasionally too. Oh, this was her warm-up? They didn't do separate warm-ups, huh? Or they didn't do them together? Well, I guess it makes sense. Will you tell my family that Hannah says hi? Hannah says hello to her family. And no, I would guess they each did 30 seconds before they played, which would probably make more sense, wouldn't it? Or does it matter? I guess it doesn't matter. I just never think of that. Yeah, I know. It took me a second when I saw Hannah start her game, and then I was like, oh, I guess they're going to do it before they start their game. People keep thinking that Trent and Colin are going head-to-head next. I'm like, no, that's a different Colin. Oh, I'm up next in search of her. That's one. Ooh, what ball is she on? Three, four? Ball one, no? No, no, no. Oh, sorry, my mistake. Yeah, this is a new game. I was still counting because I didn't realize they had done separate. Yeah, I forgot about the warm-up. If you're just tuning in, you are watching the IFBA Nationals. It's labeled U.S., however, it is North America because it includes the Canadian provinces as well. I asked Josh. He said call it U.S. I don't want to offend any Canadians. So if you have complaints. I want to offend all the Canadians. If you have complaints, take them up with Josh Sharpe. Easy one. And we are also watching the Women's Championship. Currently in the booth, you have Carl D'Python Anghelo until he has to run off and play Sorcerer, Deborah Talman, and myself, Virginia Bart Hendrickson. And we are watching a fine game of Abracadabra. Oh, she's going for the short plunge four. Priyanka Kochar and Hannah Hatch. Priyanka has already played, and now Priyanka is playing her ball. Hannah had 55,090. Wow, good memory. Point-wise. So we'll see how this goes. At least she had 50-something. I'd already forgotten that. So. And like we said earlier, Priyanka rolled this game earlier when we watched her. So. Oh. All right. She's got just the four. And is that just two drop targets? One on each side? See if she can get one of them down for some extra bonus. Although her bonus isn't built up yet. Oh, wait. But was that a sling? All right. She did get bonus. Oh, I thought she had it. You see she's really nudging the machine. Again, tilt ends game on all these EMs. She seems like she's got much more of a fly fly by style She's not letting the ball breathe as much as Hannah She's just letting it rip Sometimes when you're in the flow you just go with it That's right I thought that was going to be it going for that center target oh nice save she's getting up there 46 does she have another ball she must have she's still standing there yeah alright and she plunged good plunge oh no no no no oh and she tilted ouch Had to do the nudge there. Yeah, you had to. Last ball, doesn't matter. Yeah. All right. That's all you had left. I have to do it. I hope they're still on it. Somebody actually picked Miso. Wow. So I got to see. I don't believe you. None of us believe you. I'm looking at the queue. Raymond, of all things. So let's see if they're still playing it. Oh, yeah. Hey, look at that. So do you want to update who's playing? Sure. Yeah, we have Raymond and Sean. so playing some miso and all of these EMS are one-player games that's gorgeous reset to one thousand oh he must be resetting the game yeah maybe yeah yeah he hit the yeah and just didn't reset the thousands it doesn't it doesn't reset the thousands right away right some reason right all right now we have Raymond up. Raymond? Oh, this is a big match. Oh, is it a 3-3? Who chose this? No, it's a 3-0. My guess is Sean. So I'm going to believe that Raymond chose it? No, Sean might have because he has the loss unless he passed and took first. Oh, well, yeah, good point. Or took second. He must have chosen to go second. I don't know. Yeah, because why would he choose, why would he? Well, he might be going first. We don't really know the order until they start playing, right? Yeah. Oh, I thought we did know the order. Yeah, they might be warming up, too. I'm not sure. I thought that Raymond was playing first. My mistake. Yeah, and I'll switch it if that's backwards. No, we're not 100. Oh, boy. Are you? I'm player two. Okay. Okay. I realized that it had tilted, and the lights didn't turn off. So I was, like, bumping it like crazy after it already tilted. On your practice game. Yeah, on my practice game. So we are just starting this game. All right. There, now we've got them in the correct order. Raymond's got three. Sean. Okay, so Sean's got to come back big to stay in this game. And of all things, they're doing it on me. So unless they're not. Oh, he's got the headlamp. He's got the blessed headlamp. Look at that. Chris, do you want to jump in while you're waiting? He's heading towards Sorcerer. Looks like we've got another guest commentator. Look at that. That is... I'm not sure how I feel about that headlamp. I mean, I see why he's doing it, but... All right. Joining us briefly is Chris Stevens while he waits for Pete and Jack's match to finish up. Hello, Chris. Hello, everybody. So how's your day going, Chris? So far, so good. Had a nice, fun first round. What, just hanging out? Well, yeah, the very first round was hanging out. And then after that, I played against Doug, and he won the first game of Ironman against me, and I felt like I finally got all the jitters out, and then I won the next four to play against the winner of Pete and Jack. Nice. So I believe on this game, if you light the A, B, C, and D, it does something magical to that center horseshoe shot. Yeah. Something about giving extra balls. I feel like it has to be magical because I have yet to get it myself. And so, oh, and A, B, C, D are now lit. So now he wants to hit that horseshoe for sure. There it goes. He's got an extra ball. He's got to love that. At least as far as my memory is concerned, he's got an extra ball. Yeah, that was a pretty good shot. I had a lot of trouble hitting the horseshoe. But then again, I couldn't even spell A, B, C, D. What does it spell? Abagadon. Abagadon. This is definitely an interesting game, especially with that pop bumper right there in the middle because you try and bounce it off of it and get it back out. I feel like 47-70s. That's good. Yeah. That's good. I would feel pretty confident with that score if I were the first player to play it. Yeah. That headlamp is seriously interesting. That's all I can say. And, I mean, it's like he can spotlight where the ball is. Yeah, it helps us out. He's doing all of our work for us. Yeah. You can see right where the ball is. Yeah, he's got the loop combo down pat. Wow. Ah! Ooh! Ah! All right, Raymond's going to give up early. She's going to go on to the next game. Impressive. Raymond is currently standing out here with us watching this. Watching his opponent about to do some kind of a rollover on the score. Yeah, that was also incredible. Yeah, that was beautiful. Was that it? I believe. Is that it? Very nice. We're all pretty impressed by that one. He did the walk-off headlamp turn-off on that one. Click. Click. Well, he was clicking it off in between balls, so. Yes. He's being very courteous with it, so that's good. He doesn't have his victory, like, jiggle. He doesn't shine it in people's eyes. Super thoughtful. Wait, you can't distract your opponents by doing that? Well, you can. Let's just assume you can. All right, Raymond. All right, so now. Do that two times in a row. Yeah, really? Raymond has to beat. Is that a five or a six? Is it a five? Let's call it a five for now. Yeah. Let's just see. Yeah, that was a five. So, yeah, Raymond is stepping up, and he needs to reset. Oregon Ninja says, headlamp click, mic drop. Yeah. Well, instead of mic drop, it's headlamp click. That may be my new phrase. And currently it looks like Raymond is second in the IFPA rankings. And before starting, he has 7,000 points. He'll go away. It thinking about it Well probably need to restart it Yeah that 1 is real It been a little bit finicky It has been a little futsy This is just his 30 second No, I think he already did the 30 second. Oh, he already did his 30 second? Yeah, he already did it. They each play their 30 seconds before the first person plays their game. That is not always the case. Really? Yeah, we saw Priyanka and Hannah both play them right before they played their game. So Priyanka practiced right before she played Abracadabra. All right. I'm not sure if there's an official rule on that. I think that we should give sound effects to these older EMs. Since we don't have microphones on them. Boop. It's even more fun than I thought it would be. I don't know how good it is to listen to, though. You're doing a good job. Why'd you stop? Boop. Oh my god, somebody would rather be playing Baywatch. What is wrong with you? I'd rather be playing Baywatch. Yeah. What is wrong with you? Hey, Baywatch isn't that bad. Don't knock it. I played it up at Beaver Brewing. And did you have a blast? Oh, it's Beaver Brewing. How can you not have a blast? Exactly. If you come into Pittsburgh and you have time, head up to Beaver Falls. Oh, my God, Raymond's scores are sick. Dan Witzke has an eclectic collection at Beaver Brewing. There's an X-Files, a Hardbody, a Baywatch, a Barbed Wire, just to name a couple of his games, and he brews really good beer. Wow, nice. Raymond is really fine in that right out lane very easily. That right out lane is, like, in love with him. I'm sure he's thinking that the other guy couldn't get anything like that Sean everyone's giving you serious kudos for the headlamp like they want to meet you and shake your hand and have your kids and everything they love your headlamp and Raymond now plunges his final ball unless he gets an extra you've really dominated Raymond on this I guess they can't. Oh! Good job, Sean Stewart. Alright, so... An impressive game. Woo! Well, that was decisive. Let's bounce over to Metallica. Raymond is sucking. Let's move on to Game of Thrones, says HeyRocker. Oh, you're done? That was it. Nice job. Here's the women's standings. All right, this matchup is who and whom? Well, it's either Louise and Maureen. It's Louise and Maureen because Maureen is first. Did you say Maureen? Maureen. What about Maureen? I'm from Pittsburgh. I say stuff. Maureen. Well, we have our own language in Pittsburgh. You should know that by now. You yinzers. Oh, that's the drain. That's counted. That's the dangers of doing a super skill shot on this, the way it's set up. There is no ball save. So if you attempt a super skill shot, it comes all the way around, and you lose the ball, that's the end of that ball. That's definitely it. X-Men loves doing that to me. Oh, yeah. My few special moments with X-Men have been punctuated by fast drains. We did watch the super skill shot earlier, and it seemed like the dead bounce was spot on. You let it bounce. Into the mystery. Yeah. Yeah, and who knew? Because that's not happened to me. Yeah. That's not my world. You used to be able to do it with the one at the clubhouse, Chris. Ooh, nice save. Poor clubhouse. I believe we're getting a new one here soon. That's the room. Better clubhouse. We'll see how that goes. I actually have yet to play this Metallica. I like the lighting. Even though some people are really not big into the LEDs of some machines. Yeah. But I think it looks really, really clean, really nice, really fun. I love this Metallica. Yeah. No, it's one of my favorite looking machines. And it plays great. I love playing this version of it. Oh, okay. That's what you're. I have no qualms. Wow. Yeah, I could see how that could be. Absolutely. Scream name. I agree with you. No ball save. It's hard. It can be very, it can be brutal. Yeah, no ball savers. It really can destroy you before you get a chance to get a feel for the game. It kind of really forces you to kind of change up your strategy on some of the machines, especially on this particular Metallica, where they kind of set it up where, in order to start your sparky multiball, I believe it's 15 hits. Yes, it is. However, you also do get that 30-second warm-up, so you can find out where some of those... Yeah. Oh, yeah, that warm-up is definitely... And to go for crank it up, it's only five per. Yeah, five items to collect in order to let your crank it up. But then still, with the crank it up, that means you have to survive the magnet coming out of the grave marker because the eject targets are disabled. It just seems like everything in this game right now is set up to destroy you. That sounds like a pinball game to me. That's very true. A job well done, right? Chris, you've played in Doug Polka tournaments enough. I mean, really. I've got to say, she is fighting for her. Oh, no, no, no. Yeah, if she wins this game, I believe that means she goes on. This is Louise, right? No, this is Maureen. This is Maureen. Louise is the other player. Goodness gracious. Do I have the names backwards? Yes. This is Maureen right now. When were you going to tell me that I had the names backwards? I didn't notice. I wasn't looking at that. Oh, I see. You weren't paying attention. No, I was looking at the play field. I was going to say, that doesn't look like her picture. And unfortunately, I don't know these two fine ladies very well. You don't? No. Oh. Well, I don't know Maureen that well, but Louise. And this is a big match because this is it. Maureen's trying to avoid the sweep right here. Yeah. Yep. All right. I thought the name's correct now. Sorry about that. My question to her would be is if she's actually listening to anything or she's just wearing them as noise-canceling headphones. Now I wonder what the... Where are we at with points? I cannot see. Yeah, it's a little difficult to tell. And unfortunately we can't do too much better on the look of it. Yeah, we're doing the best we can with this. It looks like player two has about three million. And what's player one got? I have not seen player one score. Obviously player one's still in it. Marine's still surviving. Oh, with one shot, she starts her grave marker multiball. One shot? Wait, does that mean the drop targets stay down? The drop targets, I believe, are... They've been disabled. They've been disabled, so they're always down. Oh, okay. That's what you meant by that. Yeah, so all you have to do to qualify your grave marker multiball... Is hit it five times? Is hit it, I believe, yeah, four or five times to light it. And then let's say it's still lit and you drain your ball. Yeah. That means that it will still be lit at the start of your next ball. Okay. Yeah, which is kind of amazing. Oh, but a multi-drain coming out of the multiball. And she was still playing it, so I don't know. I think ball three is now starting. Future. Yeah, it is ball three. So Maureen needs to get some points here to create a cushion between her and Louise. Future tournament directors, take note. you know, of how some of these games are set up and how hard you want to make them. Starting off with a skill shot. Can she get control? Yeah. See, that snake seems like it's been kicking out kind of wonky as well. Has it? That was a nice loop shot. Very nice. Okay. I know. It's like the way those lights flash. I'm like, I can't tell where the ball is going. Yeah, sometimes you lose it. Ooh, is she also going for graveyard multiball? I believe it said that she needed four more grave markers to light it. Ah, so she's just getting started. Yes. She's kind of in a weird spot right now. She actually has the most progress, I mean, it looks like, towards Sparky, but she might still have maybe... What, 12 shots left? Yeah, eight shots. Yeah, so when you're playing games set up like this, you have to change your strategy. Oh, most definitely. Yeah, because I know Sparky's the one I usually go for. Woo-woo! Wow, that's some nice... Some very, very good reaction time on those. Yes. Very fast. That's why she's playing and I'm commentating. Okay, how many more she got left? Looks like two shots left for Grave Marker. Okay. Nice. Nice ramp. A combo would be really nice. All right, looks like she's now going to focus on Grave Marker. Yep. Which could be the end of her. She even had a hurry up lit on the left orbit. Will Louise need to play? I don't know. Nope. Apparently not. No, that's all. So that's all she wrote. Okay. Louise with a clean sweep. All right. Let's bounce over to Barracora. Is that Hannah and Priyanka still? We'll find out when we get over there. Oh, we get to learn. Yep, Priyanka is currently playing, so we are on Hannah and Priyanka. And do I have the right order? I don't know who's first. Priyanka is first. However, judging by the scores, it could be ball two or ball three. Yeah, it's either ball two or ball three. Still, those are some nice scores. Plunging the player two, which is just a dead player. Okay. Well, obviously he's not dead, or she's not dead if she's plunging. I mean player two. She's currently player three. I'm well aware. But I'm saying you're going player two is dead. She collects her four, five, six, which lights her collect bonus in that top scoop. A little fancy move there. Part of me thinks that maybe this is not ball three, strictly because she's not going for her lock. She wants more. She's definitely taking a different strategy on this one, But then she locks it. Okay. I was just wondering. She had the ball in the left flipper. She made the shot on the right. She had the ball in the right flipper. Made the shot on the left. The left again. So she decided to take it. She still has a good bit of work left to do. She only has three drop targets on the right. Woo. That was a sweet assist from one multiball to the other. That was a nice nudge. She now has her collect bonus lit again on the top saucer. This could be good. Yes. Oh, wow. Look at that. Nice cradle. Picking off the bear letters. Oh. Oh. She's getting very close with the score. Yeah. I'm not sure if this is ball two or ball three, though. And what kind of bonus do you have on this? The bonus is calculated. The green 2X that you can see right below the center playfield's left eye, that's your bonus multiplier. And then the white on the very bottom, that's the bonus count. So right now I believe she's at 12,000 in bonus. You can draw. We do have Telestrator on this if you would like to show people what we're talking about. Oh, do I just touch on the thing here? Yeah, you just touch on the thing. Wow, she is going up and down. Right there. Yeah, right there is her bonus multiplier. I missed a little bit, but I'm new. I'll get there. Good, good, good. She's got that in. Well, you know, that isn't something fancy that I think we have back home yet. Not yet. Chris is our Pennsylvania representative. He thought about going to Louisville, but I think he's probably happier that he came here. Oh, was it? So it's a fast collect, and it does collect it. Well, she had right here. Yeah. Nice. She had a bunch of them lit. And you get them lit, I believe, by. Oh, she just took it. Yeah, so it reset it, but she was able to collect it. So maybe this is a ball, too. Yeah, because she's still. Oh, no. Maybe. Nope. There it is. That's all she needed. She got it. That was a great ball to come back. Very good. That was 1-1. That was Hannah's. and coming back to take down Priyanka on barricora they'll be moving on to a new game oh it'll be watching next sunshine and Ellen and black rose I sure Kevin X man Fred Preston on sorcerer I love black yeah and this way you can explain how to play cuz my I'll do my best I'm sure there are a bunch of little tricks in this game I'm not too into because I don't know them yet, but I'll see what I can do. Is this Pete versus Jack? No, Pete versus Jack is Miss O. They're on Miss O. Okay, this is? Either Sunshine and Ellen or Helena and Amy. Yes. All right. Looks like Player 1 had a roughly quick ball. Yeah, so it's Sunshine and Ellen because that's Ellen holding up. She must be counting because Player 1 might have tilted, which I highly recommend the tilt on this on this black rose seems to be very very tight yeah it wasn't bad during earlier in the week but they increased the tilt on everything yeah I was going to say they were in here yesterday during set up so you know what you played earlier in the week is not necessarily what you're going to see um you are currently watching the 2017-2018 ifba national championships and uh the uh women's championships they are playing both at the same time here at flipperspiel wonderland and on the mic you have chris stevens deborah talman and myself virginia hendrix and we've been doing this for what about four hours five yeah we've been on there uh quite some time yeah uh we started around 11 o'clock Pacific time. So... Go time. All right. I, unfortunately, will be leaving you all. All right, Chris. It'll be me versus Pete Bart Hendrickson. Oh, geez. It's just another... Virginia versus Pennsylvania. Yeah, it's just another late night. Yep. All right, everyone, enjoy watching. I might be back later. Thank you, Chris. No problem. Take care. All right, so this is interesting. someone let's see LFDogesser question is a proper etiquette to drain if you're the last player last ball and surpass your opponent uh says lots of people do it but if you think uh you might play the game later in the tournament you are entitled to finish out if you want Unsmith0 says and I think that is actually that's something I really haven't given credence to especially as a player that doesn't have as much experience as a lot of these longer playing, much more experienced players, I could see myself actually kind of taking advantage of that in future tournaments, expecting that if I was to play it again, I might very much hold on and practice a little bit more. However, I do agree with what Doc SSS says, because I know when I played in Atlanta, I waited for the bonus countdown because you never know. I mean, you may have, you know, you could cause a tilt or whatever else, and it's better to play it until you know you pass it. Oh, yeah, well, I can't imagine draining, I can't imagine actually draining something if I haven't achieved the actual score yet. I don't care what I think my bonus is. Well, that's, yeah, not to, but when Pete interviewed me after that, he said, did you even know that you had her in bonus? And I said, no, honestly, I did not. However, etiquette, yeah, I can see. You know, with this, you are able to pick the game once each round, and that's for each group. They cannot play the same game twice during that round. So, yeah, it is definitely not a bad thing if you haven't really played the game much. But they also have a 30-second warm-up. so I have mixed emotions about whether or not you should play it out in that case. Yeah, 30 seconds is not enough. When you think, every moment, every minute, every second, every extra flip on a game teaches you more and probably makes you a better player on that game, especially for someone who's been in it as little as I have. It occurs to me that that's actually major, although I've been of the mind to drain it. Maybe I shouldn't be doing that. maybe I should be taking my hard one practice. Well, then again, too, sometimes, you know, again, being involved in helping out with tournaments, you know, I know that you want to allow, you know, you don't want to be here until midnight, 1 o'clock in the morning. So you definitely tend to go, okay, do I want to let this move fast or is my practice more important? Okay. We're going to watch Amy and her esteemed opponent Helena on, I think, Black Rose next. Are we going to stay on Black Rose? That's our plan. Yeah, well, it'll be a good match for the two ladies. And we just missed Sunshine and Ellen, so we'll switch it to that. I don't know who's first and second, but we can always flip-flop it. Hey, hello. uh kralin too i'm honestly not sure what the official oh word is but yeah hey rocker said it is their 100 right to do thank you greg i was at pinbergen when i was player four i wanted to keep playing but my opponents didn't like that and thought it was a move i didn't know what the official word is yeah no that's uh I would argue that, especially in the heat of the moment, you're like, dude, you won already. Like, you know, let it go. You know, you proved your point. But, again, if you're doing it for practice, if you're doing it for practical reasons, you know, I can't imagine why you shouldn't. Yeah, because in Pimberg, I think there could be a chance that you go back to the same thing. It's been a while since I've played in it, so I don't know how it works out anymore. Yeah, so it's going to be dependent on the tournament. It's going to be dependent on who you are. Are you one of the greatest players in the world? Do you really need more practice? Or is the difference between Bowen and Trent's game and who wins going to be more substantiated on random bounces and not their knowledge of the game or even of that machine specifically? Yeah, but even so, I mean, each game. what I'm fond of saying and what I have learned in my scorekeeping at Papa, this game is not going to play like your game in your basement. And even if you are a really good player, you might get used to playing one Black Rose or whatever. And seeing as I don't see it very much in tournaments, I could see some of the good players, you know, wanting to finish out their game on it as well. I think we can all agree that if that was the tournament winning game, you probably don't need to sit around and continue to play. Well, yeah, that's a different conversation. You know, we're not having that conversation. And the Chubby Gooba says they disagree. If it's a match play tournament, you're just holding up possibly the next round. Possibly yes, but also possibly no. And on top of that, by how many seconds or minutes are you holding up? You know, what's the effect long term? Well, and for example, at Pinburgh, they have set times. So you aren't holding that up. So the person who was at Pinburgh, if that was their last game or whatever, I mean I could see why they'd want to play it let's see here well we were going to watch Amy and Haley and I can't imagine what's holding them up they should just be able to play that would be the expectation on our part again we don't have eyes and ears on the ground in the other room so we don't know what's going on but currently there's just the two of us but it was the expectation that they would go ahead and start playing I'm gonna get off the mic actually and go check real quick and they're not gonna play we'll switch to something else so yeah bear with us a moment because as we've said we are in a completely different room so we are not a hundred percent sure of where people are at in the other room or why they may be waiting so we don't have eyes on the actual games So there may be a discussion over score or maybe they're, well it doesn't look like they're, well maybe they're trying to get the score. It's hard to say. So. All right. I am going to bounce this briefly over to Axman. just because until we figure out what's going on. They're waiting for Helena. I'm not sure where she is. The holdup is because they're not 100% sure of where Helena is right now. So we are on X-Men right now. And... Kevin and Escher. Yeah, it's Kevin and Escher. Let's see if I can find it. Do you need a break yet? No, I'm fine. Carl is joining us again Hello everyone Are you waiting again I waiting for yeah I won my round and I waiting on the next Oh, yay, congrats. Thanks. I'm so tempted by this candy that's sitting right in front of me. I'm going to have to fix this camera at some point. All right, so what are we? Is this a true 0-0, or is this a we have no idea? Oh. I'm just curious. It is 3-1. 3-1? 3-1, Asher. Asher, all right. Of course. And we have Kevin on the game right now. Yeah. I'm just not sure if he's player one or player two. Right now what we're looking at Magneto multiball and he has three heroes that he completed. Right, he started three so those three shots are worth more. Watching Escher and Kevin. Oh, nice. Kevin pushing back. Alright, so Kevin is player two. Okay. Alright, now he's picking his villain. And Sentinels is always the popular choice. And what's a Sentinels? Every shot's lit for something. Okay. Basically. And it looks like he just started Wolverine. Oh. That was a... Oh, yeah, is there a ball save on that? Yes, there was a ball save. That was a dangerous move there. Yeah. So at this point he really wants to light the scoop, light the blackbird to have his add a ball ready to go. And it's not going to happen. It's a short multiball. Alright, and this is where decision making comes into play. What to do now? He's got Rogue running with Sentinels. Okay, so this is what you can stack, correct? Right. Okay. A villain with a hero. Oh, there's a little bit of frustration over there. All right, and getting in the scoop right now, I believe, will add more time, if I'm not mistaken. He's got 37 seconds still, so he's fine. Yeah. Yeah, another Magneto multiball would be very valuable at this point, but it's dangerous hitting those lock targets. Actually, locked ball one, it looks like. Right. But you need four locks. Yes. Now, those lock targets are those dangerous shots. So he just added more time to sentinels? Is that what just happened? He started Professor X. Oh, okay. Which is that shot that he just made right now. Okay. And that, uh, here we go. Nice. That's another villain. And he chooses the saber tooth. And no one knows really what to pick up the sentinels on. They always kind of... I heard that it was sentinels to juggernaut. Yeah. That's one way to go. I don't know. You don't know if you're convinced of the efficacy of that plan? Well, honestly, if you get down to it, I mean... I'm not an expert on it, by any means. I was going to say, I wonder how many people actually are an expert on X-Men. Because it seemed like it was released and then it kind of died. Ah, that was fall 3. So... All right. Why don't we switch over to Aerosmith? Okay. That's what I was going to ask. Where do we want to go next? All right. Take a look at the women's brackets. Which Adam? Becker or McKinney? This is Becker. Okay. That's what he said. If you're just tuning in, you can find the brackets on the IFA website. They do have them live. So you can follow those. And that was sucked. Oh. Oh, yeah. Adam's playing. Adam's representing Ontario. That's why I got too close. Once again, you may see players who you know play in a particular state playing for a different state because they may not have qualified for their state or they just wanted to try a different state. Like Jack Tadman, I believe, is playing for New York. He's playing for West Virginia. So Trent's playing for South or North Carolina? North Carolina. North Carolina. North Carolina. The bracket says Gunter. Yeah, currently. You have the wrong number. Okay. I'm fixing that. Why would you do that? All right. Currently it's 3-2 in favor of Mark. So this is a crucial match. As we may have said 15 times before, the toy box has been disabled. Nice. Okay, and he passed on the multiball. Still building up to the four or five. Makes sense since it's top ball three. Yeah, you definitely want to try and get a commanding lead because, you know, as we've said, anything can happen. You going to take it? He took it. He's taking it. A four. Okay. What's that? I know. That was a eight. It almost cost him a match, too. He had to do something. So what's the difference between four ball and three ball multiball? You have one more ball. Versus six. Yeah, but the scoring. That is literally it. Oh, there's no benefit to. I assume the benefit. I know that, like, you get bigger scores when you have six versus when you have three. Right. But I didn't realize that that didn't translate to the fourth. At least that's my understanding. That three, four, and five do nothing but add balls. So six is the only one that you're getting. Right. blown up on. Maybe anyone in chat can verify that or not, but that's what I believe. Yeah, that was a multi train for Mark, and now we're back up to Adam. Where'd all my, where'd the scores go? I didn't touch it. I swear to God, I did not touch it, Carl. It was not me. Here, I'll switch it. I got it. Super ramps are going. This is what ball three right? Yep, ball three Adams life on the line right here. He's got some ways to go to build up to the multiball. Oh, that was a nice dead bounce. He's going to take it. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I mean, at this point, don't you kind of have to? It's better to go. Yeah, so everyone, yeah. Six ball, double jackpots. So those are the same. Yeah, going to. You have the very slight advantage of being able to put more in the toy box during multiball. Okay, yeah. It's surprising because you would just assume that more balls means something, right? Well, yeah. Especially when I found out that six meant so much. Oh, well, obviously it just increases as you go up. I want to know why they put the button. Oh, I have to fix this camera too, don't I? Yeah, it's been kind of... I just thought it was getting overly excited. I figured it was just having trouble falling. all the flying silver balls. I wonder why they put a button on this game, but apart from aborting your multiball, which you can do with the flippers, why is it there? Because they have to put a button on all of the new games now. That's mandatory. And it just may be for a future rules update. Yeah. Yeah, maybe in the future it'll mean something. True, true. All right, if you can combo these, look at a good yep that's good it's good yeah look at that 41 he came back commandingly on that all right that was the last one and for those who don't know adam is part of the ifba pinball family he does the uh tournament updates he approves the tournaments does the scores yeah yeah So when you're submitting your scores, just remember that. Just remember he's the guy with the keys to the kingdom. Yes. Once again, thank you to the IFPA team and Carl and anybody who volunteered and helped out to get this up and running this weekend. And thank you for sitting here all day long and running this now. Really appreciate it. Not a problem. Well, you know, it's like Pete said earlier, I can't go to a pinball tournament and not do something. But it's fun doing this because it's a good way to watch the games and learn for tomorrow. Yes. Although I imagine things will change between now and tomorrow. Pinmaster starts tomorrow. The first group tees off at what, 10 a.m.? 1 p.m. 1 p.m. Yes. And then... Sleep. Sleep is good. That's why I'm excited. We're RT times not till six. So Pin Masters is broken up into groups? Yeah. So two, we'll have, there's 96, or 96, 36 people for 1 p.m. and 36 people for 6 p.m. Oh, okay. Or around there. Josh may have added another group because they had people that really wanted in. So I think there's 10 groups in one of the rounds with only nine games. That'll be fun. Yeah, I was excited about our time thinking I could sleep in, but then finding out Las Vegas has a lot of things at night. I'm horribly torn about this. Okay. So, wow. Extra balls have been disabled on most of the games, except for any game that they may not have been able to disable it. Extra balls mean points at this. There it is. All right, that's a match. Yep. All right. Where are we going, guys? Okay, so that means Adam is still in it. And he's 3-3. Do we want to go to Iron Man and see if we can watch Helena and Amy now? Sure. Sure. Okay. yeah we switched away earlier because uh they were waiting to find elena yeah they were waiting on elena to uh oh looks like this game might be over too it is indeed is that it well is it them or the previous yeah no that is it so or maybe yeah that was very fast very very fast it's iron man yeah isn't that the truth anymore it used to be i was good at iron man and now i can't play one to save my life all right so what else we have going here let's see we can we can watch adam and mark are going on barricora they're three three the ones we just watched wait here comes helena so we might be coming out yep all right barak or well I'm just thinking that because it's a elimination match one of them is going down barak or sounds good Wow Greg really wants Game of Thrones I didn't see the chat all right I'll try and show some Game of Thrones next between Raymond and Shawn that would give us some more headlamp action and we did just see Becker play we did what We have three to three on Chris Compton and Tim Sexton. Are they playing right now? That's on Metallica. They looked like they – I don't know whether they were starting it or if they were in the middle of it. That's why it didn't go to them. I would love to see what's going on with them. All right. Well, let's see. Compton and – Yeah, as we said, we are not in the room, so bear with us because we are trying to figure out as we go. what players to watch or what games to go to. Wait, Game of Thrones doesn't have... Sorry, I'm talking to Greg here. It's got Raymond and Sean on it right now. Game of Thrones has... Oh, wait. We've got Chris and Tim now. Hey, Greg, I apologize. I don't know who all the Portland players are. So my sincere apologies. I'm still trying to figure out who people are. All right, so Chris is checking his status to see where he stands and where he needs to get to. Now is Chris player one or player two? I think he's player, they're on ball three. I want to say he looks like player two. I got the super skill. All right. We're just going to leave it. Yep. It's three and three. Oh, wow. He's got some progress towards Sparky. Is that what he's going for? Not anymore. Not anymore. Yeah, so that was it. All right. So I think that means Tim took it. Yep. All right. Do we want to? That was quick. I'm so glad we got to see those 30 seconds of action alright let's do some Game of Thrones then let's listen to the masses sorry who's on Game of Thrones who is it it's Raymond and Sean alright I am excited about that I can't lie Oh, yeah, but see that reflection. That would be hard to... Amazing. Yeah, I mean, that's... I haven't seen this yet. Yeah, see, I don't know how he could do that, because with that reflection off the glass... Yeah, but it's just because of the angle the camera is at. Yeah, that's what the camera is picking up. It's not necessarily what... You don't think there's any type of reflection on the glass from his headlamp? Why are they shaking, shaking? He's testing the tilt a bit. Oh, are you allowed to do that? He's on his warm-up. Oh, so you can test the tilt on your warm-up? Okay. Just asking the question. In your 30 seconds. You bet you can. Okay. Oh, that's right. Which one is it that you can't? Like some of the games, I think it's the older games, even with the ball in the plunger lane or something, you can test the tilt? Right, that's not allowed. Yeah, that's what I was thinking of. At that time, yep. Yeah. So what was that? Because refresh my memory on what that one is. I don't remember. Okay. I remember the situation. I don't remember the specifics. So a mysterious deck of critical hit cards has landed on my desk. Your desk. I don't understand. Carl, talk about... Where do these cards come from? My car. Carl, talk about critical hit. Oh, what do you want to know? Tell the masses what it's about and what it is. You've got these cards for sale. There's 20 different types in a deck, and they modify pinball tournaments. Or if you want to play with friends, you can do that, too. Hand them out. Things like switch your group, switch your game. Get an extra ball. End somebody's turn. Yes, end someone's turn. Tilt someone's or try to tilt someone else's ball. Take a game out of a tournament. It's a lot of fun stuff. Have you played them? We did a version of it in Pittsburgh, I believe, at Kickback. And, yeah, it was an interesting, you know, it's like because I'm all set to go forth, and somebody's like, oh, I'm changing order. I'm like, oh, no. So, yeah, I mean, check these out, Carl. Where can they find them? They're at neverdrains.com slash critical hit. So try your next tournament that way because it can be a lot of fun and very frustrating too. All right. So there is some discussion on what is going on with Game of Thrones. It looks like they just restarted it. It didn't sound like they are having any other problems. But Brian is stepping up and, yeah, it looks like they're testing a tilt or testing something. The game's a little wobbly. Or the leg bolts are a little loose, I think, so you can really push it around. It's the same for everyone. Everyone. So since they're doing some adjustments, where do we want to bounce? Do we want to go to, let's see. I'm trying to stay away from Black Rose. Well, their match is over. You want to go to Four Queens? They're going to play Four Queens. You got to watch Four Queens. No, I don't. You do. Yeah, for those of you who don't. You can turn away. Pete is playing right now against Chris, and it's another Friday night. Hold on, hold on, hold on. We have another game, seven, apparently. Tracy and Elena. Are they on right now on Ironman? Did they actually start Ironman? Because I was over there earlier. You know, I will walk. And find out. Okay, hold on just a moment and let us find out. Because I saw Helena come out. Yes, they are playing Ironman. Okay. Well, they are now playing Ironman. Let's bounce over to there. Good. That keeps me away from having to watch. But, yeah, Pete plays against Chris, and I just can't watch the games. They make me nervous. So we got Helena and Amy, and it looks like Helena's up. There's a couple different ways to play Iron Man. I know my favorite way is to go Monger, but I know people go for the ramps. People who try and stack, I think it's what, War Machine and Whiplash. There's different modes that if you start or have all the characters flashing, that starts a specific mode. in a tournament setting like this you're either most people are going bogey or for monger and uh bogey is uh that left cramp has a bit of a hop at the at the entrance it does say ball three i guess it's gonna be another short match yep i could hear that i could hear that shout from the other room all right let's take it over to four queens because we haven't seen enough wait wait wait whoa no no no sorry sorry sorry see almost there we say it was a short match and i got confused and thought that meant that it was over so never mind It's a crazy thing because I actually, oh man. Wow. Man. Wow. I mean both of you, I think. Okay so I believe that means that there are two even even two yeah because well what it says on the bracket it says that Amy had two to Helene is one now it two and two all right so rounds games we should watch we should keep an eye on Zoe and Tracy when they start to play Black Rose because they're an elimination match barricade finished already Adam looks like you won we'll be moving on. And Four Queens is Four Queens is what we got. Or we can bounce over to Black Rose. Black Rose and keep it on with Fred and Preston and then we'll catch Zoe and Tracy. Yeah, let's do that. That sounds like a good plan to me. Everyone at home, this is hard to what to watch. There's so many matches going on at one time and you never know where we are. We can't see all the games at all. We are in a completely separate room. So we have no idea what state it is until we switch the cameras over and they're just starting fred yeah fred president just starting incredible two games of black rose i believe this may be an elimination matches well or is it a three two no it's a two two uh they're more than that i know that oh they were more than that you know yeah okay tell me tell me more they were two two before at sorcerer hey who's in charge of updating that we need to take it up with them complain complain complain I will find out. Agreed. Somebody is slacking on the job. I still think it's Josh Sharpe. So Black Rose, I think we have decided the strategy is locks. Deborah, do you want to show them where the locks are yet again? The beautiful black rose lock shot. Yeah, those beautiful black rose lock shots. Two. Okay. Preston's at three. No, it says two and two. You're slacking. What the heck, Josh Sharpe? Okay. Yeah. Josh is blaming the internet. I'm not sure I quite believe that. So on this game, there's a magical lock shot here. From that flipper, you knock it in and... Looks like a candy cane. It looks like a candy cane. And when you do that, the ball is actually going to come right back out that same shot. You can let it come down, bounce off this flipper, smack into the right flipper, and come back to the left flipper. Let me interrupt you for a second. Did you see Fred just use the cannon to lock a ball? Nice. Yes. So we had talked about that earlier, what the best strategy is with the cannon. And what he did with the bounce over and letting it bounce over, you can frequently do that when you let the ball come out of the lock shot and do that crazy bounce I was showing you. Well, you have to lock three balls, correct? Correct. No, is it lock two balls and then the third one? comes out of the shooter lane. Right. What was that? Did he pretend to people's elbow the Black Rose machine just now? He may have because he drained out a multi- Oh, tilt warning. Yeah, that was, what, a double. So this is where you tend to fingertip a little bit. Watch that finger action. Yeah, if you've ever seen me play, it's- Oh, yeah, he's in video mode. Oh, wait. Is there a different video? Oh. There's lots of video modes. Yeah, I was going to say, I didn't realize there were lots. He's got that lock shot dialed in pretty nicely. Yeah. All right, what happens when you light all the letters? NSYNC ship. NSYNC ship? Yes. You just had to ask that question, didn't you? Well, because I'm seeing the letters light up. I was curious. Do you have any idea? It's a great question. I know what happens. So then you lock the ball in Davy Jones' locker right here. And then the ball magically comes down into this cannon. And you shoot it. Right there to explode the ship. And you get 20 million big ones. That's pretty massive. Oh, here comes Fred. There goes Fred. Big off a big ball. And the skill shot is those targets. She's by the, I thought that he just hit. What? The skill shot. Oh, he used, the ball save is on. I was doing that a lot last time. Because you can hit the skill shot, let it drain, and then Davey Jones locker right after that. Yeah, that's right. Because the Davey Jones locker shot you can get right from the plunge. So that was smart. I love that he was exploiting the ball save to do that. One of the only games in this tournament that has a ball save. Yeah, maybe were they able to not turn it, or weren't they able to turn it off? Evidently they were not able to turn it off. Yeah, that's the only reason to be on. Otherwise they would have, especially with that exploit. All right, he's got the double broadside. Going for the quadruple broadside. I know that's not a thing, but I wish it were. The quad broad, I like to call it. Oh, he got quad. Boom. Look at that. He is. Oh. He went for, sheesh. Oh, did you see that bounce? That was nice. That made me nervous. Okay, so he's making the loops. Oh, he's trying to go for Davies. Which ball are we on, people? Ball one. This is ball one? Yes, this is ball one. Blowing up the ball ones. Yeah. I thought Fred was playing for ball three for all the marbles. That's the kind of energy he was putting in. Yeah. Well, it depends on where we're at in the match. Is it 3-2 or where are we at on our match? Well. We are 3-2. We are 3-2. Yeah, we're 3-2 and Fred has two. So, yeah, this is a do or die. Not to be confused with the Ironman. Do or die. You are watching the 2017-2018 IFBA North American National Championships, even though Josh wants to call them the U.S. Nationals, and also the IFBA Women's Championships. You are listening to Carl D'Python Anghelo, Deborah Tauman, and myself, Virginia Bart Hendrickson, and we are at Flipper Spiel Wonderland, which is an underground arcade in Las Vegas, Nevada. And it literally is underground because it doesn't even have a sign above the building. I don't know if it's on literally. It's literally not underground. Well, I'm sorry. It's literally hard to find. Hard to find. I have to call out this person, LFDogSR. Watch his head. I bet there are magnets. in that beard and he can redirect balls from draining uh let's see here hip smarts has no rules against performance enhancing beards i feel like there's a lot of beard hate going on right now big 20 right here big 20 beard says did he get it did he get it if he can do it oh he's coming back calm calm oh and i even i watched him get out just off center because the direct hit on those a bit has been bouncing out but if you don't go directly just to the right or left Oh, here we go again. A little wiggle in. We're going to do this again. So let's see. He needs this shot. Bingo. Yeah, and he did it without a beard, which is what's really impressive about what just happened. Doesn't he have a goatee? Nah, it's not a beard, though. It's not really the same thing. It's not the epic, massive, magnet-wielding beard that Preston has. Yeah, we'll have to see if his beard passes inspection after the tournament. That's right. Performance enhancing beards. It should be illegal. If you didn't know or if you even care, the NASCAR race is out here in Vegas also this weekend. Oh, no. No. It is? It is. Oh, that means Sunday is going to be a horrible drive home. Oh, so I know you'll want to watch the NASCAR race, but tune in and watch the Pinmaster Finals instead. And he's going right for that double lock. Get it! Oh, he did, he did! Multiball, multiball, multiball. Sink that ship. Sink that ship. There's some really good play going on right now with these two competitors. Preston's amazing. I had a chance to watch Fred up close and personal. a number of tournaments this year. He's a spirited, impressive opponent. He's gotten out a lot more this past year or two. You've got to watch out for that people's elbow, though. And just make sure that he doesn't break glass. He will. Yes. Ooh, a beautiful save. Same thing on the other side, not to be outdone. Those tricks you can do with the cannon there. Hey Carl, in addition to the NASCAR race there's also a rugby tournament of some type Is there a pizza convention? I don't know I want to go to the pizza convention But that ends probably today Pizza Expo We're missing it There's a helicopter convention in town too guys Oh yeah, I saw the helicopters when we drove past yesterday Alright, so How many letters does he have spot on, Sink Ship? All but one it looks like. So he's close to another Oh no. No, more than one. Okay. Yeah, because I's flashing. Can we go down? Yeah, he's got three lit. Four. So he just needs to light the I and the P? And the S unless the S is burnt out? No, of course the S is burnt out. Oh, Fred. Preston's just texting his buddies. No, he's counting. Hey, dude. Yeah, well, of course there's a counter, too. But he did that after he was texting his buddies. Oh. I know we've talked about this earlier, but again, if you're just joining us, you definitely want to wait between tilts. So if your opponent tilts, you want to wait at least 30 to 60 seconds. And some people wing it and don't really time it. 60 seconds. I wait two minutes. Now, I usually wait 30 to 60. Some people actually time it and use their phones. Some people, like me, wing it. But, yeah, you want to let that machine settle in between because, once again, if you plunge the ball and the game tilts, you're out of luck. What's that score on, Fred? 50 or 60. And that's even without the bonus. Is there a lot of bonus on this? all right presto let's make it happen is there a lot of bonus on this can you steal someone else's letters is the letter count up irrespective of which player no they just both happen to have the same letters lit yeah absolutely screen name the reason he has his phone out is because he's allowing the game to settle the reason why he has his phone out is because he can't focus he's not a very good pinball player well no he said when you're at the game i'm joking please oh well yeah i was gonna say you can see how good he is god he's been nailing that broadside anyone anyone who's won a state championship is that you know they're no slacker no yeah there are over 60 really great players between the women's and the u.s championships uh-huh and oh he did it to himself Oh. And if you're wondering how you qualify, you have to be in the top 16. Three and three. Not yet, right? No, because we're on ball three. Not yet? Oh, I thought that was ball three. No, that was ball two. I'm so used to getting to the last end of a match that. Yeah, I know. We actually are watching a whole game here. Silly me. To qualify for nationals, you need to first finish in top 16 in events in your state. Then you need to go play in nationals. and those are all held, or not national, it's your state championship, and those are all held on the same day. Then you need to finish first, or maybe second, depending on whether or not the first place player passes, and then you get a chance to come and represent your state in whatever state you choose to play in. And to qualify for women's, they take the first 16 based on WAPA rankings, then the next eight are based on the women for rankings. The next eight are the wild card spots in case one of the top 16 chooses or is unable to come. Dangerous game, Adam. We just watched Adam Becker do the maze of getting through all of the cords. And we are watching Fred Richardson and Preston McCalla on Black Rose. It's been a heck of a game so far. What game they're on? Got to judge by their expressions to see how dire it is. It's an elimination if Fred loses. Game seven? He loses game six. Fred's down. Yeah, Fred is down by, well, you can see, two. Fred is down by one, so he needs to win this to play game seven. Yes, Preston Monkler. Chubby Goomba, it depends on the tournament director as to whether or not you're holding up a game. So, you know, it could be 30 seconds, it could be 60. You know, it is at the discretion of the tournament director. I need to see if I'm going to have enough hard drive space for this. Oh. Look at that. This file is already 50 gigs. I've got another 50 left. I think I've got to delete something else. Well, we've been going since 11 o'clock is now almost 5. All right. Bye-bye, TNA. Bye-bye, TNA. Aw. There will be more TNA later. What? Virginia is giving me looks. No, I'm sorry. There will be more TNA later. That is not a terrible thing to say. If you walk along the strip, you'll see some. Some TNA. Yes. Yeah, we're in Vegas. All the TNA one could hope for. This is not talking about Black Rose. Let's talk about Black Rose. Oh, currently Fred has 70 million. That's pretty good. Yeah. And he's still going. Oh, he's got 30. This is a big sinker. Yes. and he got it right in nice job wow that's a lot of so how many ships do you have to sink or how many ships are available to sink you can sink as many as you do like you have to spell sink ship right here yes and when you do i know it's a terrible line but when you do uh you get another chance to sink a ship by putting the ball into Davy Jones' locker. That'll give you a cannon shot up the center. Okay, so it just keeps going and going. You can do seven ships and then it'll be like 70 million for the shot? Yeah, I don't know if it ever caps out, but you could do innumerable ships, I think. Holy crap, look at that score. I think that's a high score I think I've ever seen on Black Rose. Nice job. Yeah, I'm loving Fred's gameplay on this. Yeah. I'm sure Preston is too. Preston's like, darn it, I have to play game seven. Preston's beard is going on strike in a few minutes. Well, Preston may be working on rearranging the magnets in his beard. That could be the problem. The magnets were inappropriately placed. Here you go, Kyle. You don't make the finals of pinball. $25 cash. You're going to have another loss. Oh. Ooh. We've just been invited to a super secret pinball tournament. Thank you. Oh, it's good, man. Don't worry. It's got all the curtains. It's got all the curtains? No, $25 cash and IFPA points. Money, IFPA points. Yeah, that's the big one. The reason this is being held on a weekday is because they are playing Pin Masters here starting tomorrow. That is a, what is it, a Stern Pro Circuit event now? Yes, it is. Everybody knows pin masters is more important than the nationals and world women championships. So, yeah. What are the prizes for these tournaments? Like. Really cool trophies. That's all I want. I would like to think. Yeah. Yeah. It's a new inbox for nationals. And then what's the women's? I didn't get to play in women's, so I have no idea. My apologies to the ladies out there. A hug from Bowen Kierens. That's the prize. Yeah, however, there are some really cool trophies that go with it, like the Nationals trophy. It is a silver ball on a trophy base, and it has a bunch of flags around the base. So it is pretty cool looking. um nice women's is 1700 cash plus trophy plus official stern pinball topper worth 500 and then second plus a hug from bone cairns um yeah i know they had a lot of support for the uh nationals this year they had what a kickstarter or one of those and uh yeah another fundraiser kind of for to um boost the prize pool yeah and then a lot of a bunch of or a few sponsors stepped up to help sponsor it so um they definitely or they did have a lot of support for that um i'm kind of sad that we're going to be watching this again if we stick to the Zoe and Tracy match. Why? I don't know. I think I've had enough macros. It is rinse and repeat time. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that's a terrible ball, Fred. Thank you. Yeah, that is a... I do not envy Preston right now, but he's just got to shake it off, not think about it, and play his game. So we've got a multiball started. And... Get back in your home. lock ball go to your home that's your home good for your home so all he needs is like four sunk ships right a piece of cake he's got sink ship lit so he's that was beautiful yeah that was very nice he's in a good position to take advantage of sinking a ship he's just got to get it in a Davy Jones locker Yeah. Which he's working on. Impressive. Here we go again. And he locks ball two. He's going to lock it up. Three ball, multiball. Nice, nice, nice, nice. And that's good. That's going to give him bigger points than if he was going for two ball. Some days you just go one ball at a time. Or one multiball at a time. He had the two ball there, didn't he? Or did he pass on it? Or wait, you can't pass on it. I thought there was a way you could get three ball. Yeah, well, after you relock the two balls. Okay. Okay, so you have to play two ball first. Yeah, yeah, you get the two ball, and then you have to relock the two balls to get to the three ball. That was a really quick three ball. But he's got a ship to sink. A ship to shink, you know. Ooh, that was beautiful. Kick it out. We have two elimination matches coming up. The one we're going to watch on here with Zoe and Tracy. And Game of Thrones is going to be... Am I reading this right? Asher and Andrew or Hannah? Helena and Amy. Okay. All right. Well, we were going to watch Zoe and Tracy. NCB, you'll always have a chance. I've seen games that they're down and they blow the game up. Can we switch it to X-Men for a minute? No, you can't watch Trent. I heard Collins got a $55 million ball game going on. I think that's worth seeing where that's at. All right, we are going to briefly switch over to X-Men, we said? X-Men.
