## Analysis

Zach Sharpe from Straight Down the Middle plays through Ghostbusters pinball, focusing on demonstrating the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man mode. The gameplay showcases mode mechanics including portal shots, ghost captures, and multiball stacking opportunities, with detailed commentary on shot sequences and scoring strategies. The session highlights both the mode's potential (50M+ shots) and execution difficulty, ending with a partial mode completion and final score of 784 million.

### Key Claims

- [HIGH] Stay Puft mode can stack with multiball for significant point generation — _Zach Sharpe explicitly states 'If you can stack multiball and Stay Puft, you're good' and later 'If you can stack this with a multiball or whatnot, boy oh boy can you get some points'_

- [HIGH] Stay Puft mode requires hitting lit shots repeatedly to progress, with 50 million point shots available — _Zach demonstrates the mode mechanics and identifies '50 million point shot' targets during gameplay_
- [HIGH] Slimer target does not register consistently on Ghostbusters — _Zach states 'He does not register the best so I have a couple of options here' when discussing the Slimer target needed to start modes_
- [HIGH] Ghostbusters pinball has multiplier mechanics that can be stacked with modes for bonus scoring — _Zach explains 'If you have multipliers you can shoot the shot, start that mode, and get the actual bonus multiplier'_

## Transcript

Welcome back! Let's play some Ghostbusters. I'm going to start that right mode ladder. First mode of Super Alta Dog. dog. Oh, and I drained, but it saved me. I'll take it. Three shots, two Orbus and a Ramp. Come on now. Be friendly. Woo! Did you see that? We'll take it. We will take that. All Alright, we'll leave it in mode there. We're gonna try to get it back to the right orbit. Oh, wow! Okay, so it was friendly with that Lazarus, but then it not so friendly with that last shot. So my modes are open. So my aim is gonna be to go for that light multiplier skill shot, which is kinda tricky. I'll take it. Nice shot Zach. So now I just want, ah, save me. I just want spooks in to that right orbit. That's where I'd like to start the mode. So we can progress down that ladder. Up the ladder, right? So I started that. It was ugly, but I started it. Hit the shot to open the portal. All the Ghostbusters fall through. You have to save them one by one with the four shots. Locked ball one. Calm down. Nada. All right. Pretty crappy start here. We've got Spook Central going, we're going to try to hit that K again. Because I blew the last one. Straight down the middle on that one. Don't do it to me again. Now that's a visual. Let's try to get that right ramp now. Nice and tricky. There it is. So we completed that mode. Now if I can, try to get control of it. And go right back to Gozer. Now that wasn't nice. Here we go. Come on. Let's control it. There we go. There it is. Start a Gozer with the Gozerian. Mom she a dog Okay so she a dog Right ramp to go to the next part of the mode Or right orbit to get that award up a little bit I really would like to hit the right ramp and move to the next part. Stay up. Ah. There it is. It counts. Now you've got to hit her in the back. Woo! Stay alive, stay alive. That'll just build up a bonus. There she is back there. Right now, you've got to hit one of those. I think it's one of the ramp shots or something. Now, that's not it. That's not it. must be that right orbit. Don't waste it. Don't waste it, Zach. Woo. Get up there. Did it? Yes, that's complete. The only trouble, the only trouble now is that I have to start a mode via hitting the ghost target, then hitting slammer three times. He does not register the best so I have a couple of options here. I might lock them on ball three. Ah, just missed it. Ball three. I do have an extra ball. So I can try to get my multiball going. I think I've only locked one. If you can stack multiball and stay puffed, you're good. So, let's go for, oh damn. Now, I thought it was only, I thought I only locked one ball. Well, I get a multiball going here. Since I don't have a mode going, there's not too much to do. I can just try to get some points. Just try to keep the balls alive. At least we got an extra ball there. Got a couple extra balls so at least you guys will be able to see Staple. That's good. As well as we're building up some ghosts because I have not captured many right now. So we'll do that. you I Said a whole lot of nothing really going on here. Keeping some balls alive there. Bah! Now if I can get that ball under control, it would be great. Stay locked. Okay, what do we got now? We still would like to start that Stay Puft mode, but man, you guys, I'll go for it, but it is a freaking killer. I can go for easy points right here in that right scoop to not cross the streams. You can max out at close to 60 million, I believe. Man, I'll go for that ghost target, but this is my early demise. Let's try Tobin. Oh, let's not try Tobin. Oh, man. Ghostbusters. Okay, well. At least I have another ball. Now there's two ways to do a skill shot on this game. I'm going to try to start this mode. So I've got that one highlighted. Excuse me. Okay so I can do it by soft plunging right past that lip and it coming down. The benefit of doing so is that I have not hit a switch so I have a little bit of play there. But to do that skill shot it's a fine shot. tough so what I like to do is full plunge it and just attempt to control it before it hits a scoop or a switch to negate that start scene so that's what I'm gonna do right now control it control the controller get it up there no no no no no no that is what not there we go we got it under control there we go we started stay puffed cool scene. Alright, so I have no multipliers. If you have multipliers you can shoot the shot, start that mode, and get the actual bonus multiplier. Really cool mode. If you can stack this with a multiball or whatnot, boy oh boy can you get some points. I didn't So I'm just going to attempt to hit my lit shots and get this bad boy going. So that's a 50 million point shot right there. Get up there. That wasn't nice. Just hit that damn thing all day long At least until I miss it Oh, bad shot. You're going to pay for it. You're going to pay for it. I did pay for it. That was not good. Not good, but I have an extra ball. what would be big here. See, I've got a couple options. I could try to get a multiball going by hitting the captain ball twice. That lights your locks. You can hit three times circle multiball. That's a lot of shots. Or I can try to hit, because I've got the mode going. I can try to hit that K multiplier up top, and if I do hit that and keep Stay Puff going, I've got a good shot. I need another ball. That's what I need so we can get to We Came, We Sold. Let's try to short. Let's just try to play some smart pinball here. Hopefully luck is on our side. We've got a couple of shots here. Come on down and safe place. I said a safe place. Bye bye, ball line. Or, uh, okay. Oh, shit! Sorry, guys. That was pretty pathetic. That was just ugly. We're on our last ball. Man. I set my game to only three extra balls, so I think that would be no good. Let's get that K. Come on now. Get in there. All right. Control the... I have found if you try too hard to control the ball, that's when you make mistakes. Just play pretty good. Nah, I don't think that's any good. I should have got it going for five extra balls or something. That would have been nice. Alright, left over. Now right ramp to finish it, but it's a nasty, nasty one. Get up there. There it is. All right, now right up the gut. Very good. Super Jack. A whole whopping 7 million, but at least I locked the ball. That's not how you do it. Oh well, but at least you guys got to see Stay Puft. We almost got to Weekend. We saw we kicked his ass. Oh well, we got 784. It's not horrible. Would have liked to see more. All right, let's try next time to get to We Can't We Sell, We Kick This Ass.
