Thank you very much. Thank you. I'm George, and this show is Don't Panic Clip, and Pure Retro says woo-hoo. We are streaming some pinball from Dave and Kate's place tonight. This is Pure Retro Colorado is hosting us. Here's Titanic's down below. Jackson, Kate, and Dave is over in the corner. And without further ado, TX Factor, let's do it this evening. I'm going to switch over and show you guys what we'll be playing. And because I lost the chat, I'm also going to be switching over and doing some fun stuff on the computer. At the same time, hey, Kisco, welcome to the stream. Long time no see. Thank you so much for being here. We're going to be playing TX Sector. And to describe and kind of go through the rules, Dave is going to come up here and walk us through it. Eventually. Yeah. Well, I was going to get on your stream. Which one is the camera I look at? So it's that one. You're right at your hand. There you go. Hello, America and everyone else on the World Wide Web. We are going to play a great game by Gottlieb called TX Sector tonight. Pretty simple. There is a multiball, but there are no jackpots. It's all about getting your mega levels. So you see here in the middle of the field, mega level 1, all the way to 9. At 10, we light lock. So there's a few ways you can gain mega levels. the drop targets clearing an entire bank will get you one mega level once you've done both banks the banks will then be lit at 2x and then you get two mega levels once you've cleared both at two they become 3x so that's not a playfield multiplier that's how many mega levels you get which is also your bonus per bank dropped the other couple ways you can get mega levels are these 10, 000 in advance. These will alternate being lit based on like slingshots and pop bumpers. This like dead end orbit and this dead end orbit will get you one. And then the other way is back here behind the pop bumpers is actually a stand up target. So if you rip this spinner, you hit that, you'll get a mega level. Okay, other than that, there's kind of two strategies on this game. One is kind of building that bonus and then if you drop this drop target, you can collect your bonus at a multiplied level. It starts at an 8x and then it drops on either this lit ramp, this back orbit thing, or this ramp. We can kind of see that once we start playing. The other strategy a lot of people go for is this ripping the lit spinner. So these spinners will alternate being lit for 10, 000 to spin based on which inlaying was last lit. It starts on this one, so you can rip it, get your target back there, hit the pops. That's kind of it. So, yeah, should we do it? Yeah, you want to do it? Cool. And that's the credit sound. God, I love the sounds on this game. Alright, so let us know the volume because we have the game hooked up to a subwoofer because this game bumps. And if you haven't played or heard this game, it's got one of the sweetest soundtracks. Ready to go? Go for it, man. Here we go. We're going to play a four-player game. Pink Digimon, thank you very much. Pink Digimon says, nice run down. You also got to kind of dance when you play this game. Also there is a little hole right here that you can get a ball save if you nudge strategically. So don't blow it, Ty. Okay, yeah. So this right here, see how it says teleport? When that's lit, that's the shot that would be lit to collect a multiplied mega level. Also that would be the one to lock the multiball. If you make this ramp, then this little back shot or this ramp will be lit. got to drop that drop target to light that ramp. So let's give it a go. You forgot to mention something, Dave. What's that? If you're not dancing while you're playing TX Spectre, you're losing. Sure. Don't be a loser. So how come you didn't take the shot at that ramp? Because, okay, so I didn't take the shot at that ramp because you can miss and and drain. Also, strategically, this ramp is better to have lit because it's easier to hit and you can collect a good mega level on it. I don't want to, I don't have any mega levels when I plunge in player one. I don't want to get that ramp going for my opponent. So the next player, I don't want to give them an easier shot because it does me no good having this ready to go when I don't have any mega levels. So I'm not going to go for that and so I build up this mega level of value and then we're going to enter the infinity zone. Okay so that was a good little rip. LordHowardHertz, welcome to the stream. Except for the green champ. Anyways. So wait, the Grand Champ is still at 5 ball? Well, the Grand Champ was on 3 ball, but it doesn't reset when you change it for some reason. Once you get the left ramp... Once you drop that target down... down it will light the left okay so right now you want to get the left draw target it looks like that really sneaky upper uh left left or right hit the left ramp okay now go up the left ramp and you'll collect your 5x times whatever time you on so you at like you collected a 5x by 500 you got like 520 okay that wasn right No no So he still a ramp But no I got scared Because now he still close to his bonus points And uh... It's just like if you do a death save, you know when people slide it and bring it back? You're counteracting that bounce and hopefully you're only taking two dangers instead of tilting. Okay. So, it's a real, it's not an exact science. game is going to be different based on the skill Bob, it's just kind of, you have to have a feel for the game. Okay. And so, I'm really bad at aiming. So, like, my one skill is I'm really good at keeping the ball alive. And so, it's from nudging. Nudging and slapping. Like, I miss all my shots, but I keep the ball alive and then I get lucky. That's the only reason why I do okay. Keith Elwin says your ability to play pinball is three different items, which is recovery, which is what you're describing. See, I made that back. Yeah, I know the rules and I'm okay at aiming, but I'm really good at saving the ball and nudging. That's why I love EMs. EMs have taught me so much about nudging. Like you have to. They're great training games. Same with early solid space. So right now, since I played a multiball, I actually have 13 mega levels. So if I hit this and collect it at whatever bonus value, so all this miss is dead. Okay, so now... See, there's another slapstick. Okay, so I collect that at 6x, but it's actually going to be 13. Multiple warnings. And a big thing on nudges and stuff, you want to do like, you have to do it before it actually needs to happen, right? So like a lot of games if you go halfway up the ramp and then it comes down you're gonna drain What you want to do is nudge it and hit like a rubber or a post on the way down and that moves the ball Into a different trajectory not right down the middle, but you got to do like before it comes down So a lot of it's like muscle memory and how many times you've seen something or done something Oh, yeah, the more like honestly the more you play is the more you see different shots angles speeds how the ball bounces different engines to nudge and control the ball when when I was starting and nudging I could only nudge to yeah but like I went it didn't work but I got 2 million and I'm gonna drain myself and so I should get like 18, 000 or whatever 18, 000? or I have 18 bonus 180, 000. I think with nudging, the best thing you can do is just try it. And even if you don't know what you're doing, just get okay with hitting it. Yeah. My thing is, I would rather try to save a ball and tilt than just let it drain and be like, eh. You know, like, if it's going to drain anyways and I tilt, it's like, whatever. I mean, there are some exceptions. You don't want to tilt on games like Adam's Family or Indiana Jones where all your mode points are in bonus. That's like a bad idea. But on a lot of games, bonus isn't going to make or break your game in most situations. And I would rather try to keep the ball alive by making a decent move than just letting it drain and be like, well. I guess I'll just drink, you know? Like, I at least tried, and I tilted, but the more you try, the more you kind of find the nuance where it's not a tilt. It might just be a double danger. Like, you'll see good players on newer, like, sterns where there's rubbers on the post nailings, where you can shake it and bring it, kind of like what we're doing over here, shake it and bring it back up. Like, those moments happen, and good players do it consistently. It's because they try it. Like, if you never try it, you're never going to do it. If you tilt, you're going to tilt. But, like, even if you tilt, finish the move and see it happen. And you're like, okay, it's possible. You know, and then that just builds in your mind, like, the, you know, the positive thought, like, I can do that. Unless you're going to tilt out the next player. Well. And maybe don't continue. Yeah, like, on sterns you can't really tilt through. On older games you can potentially tilt through, which is a bummer. Yeah, that's a good point. I was just throwing it out there.
