that new is Iron Maiden and there's so much going on on this game that's player's game knowledge is gonna matter a lot here compared to some of the other machines where there's simple a simple strategy there Windows or game that's been out for a long time and this will be one of the first times we get to see plundering and multiplayer interaction and real choice on who the who you select and we are not going to watch pirates not Pirates ami we are going to switch to Iron Man Oh Iron Maiden's Oh Iron Maiden without the ID did we not sound confident enough in our role and we are here the top 24 seeds playing for the a division crown and 16 other players also active right now playing for the B division in the first round so we're joining this in progress we're on player 4 which is Germain stepping up on ball 1 Ryan so you played this in qualifying how do you how do you step up to an iron man what's your first first approach well um for I guess maybe the first thing is that I often don't want to play iron man in a in a tournament like in a heads-up match or you know a four-player match like this because it's a it can be a brutal game you know there's magnets involved most of most of the important shots are dangerous and so I was just kind of thinking about so Ritchie was the top seed he was the one who picked this and I'm wondering what we can can infer about about that about his choice it it hoped it probably means he played a lot of it in the qualifying it's a players who are strong on ramp combos and loop combos I've noticed forty generally plays a little bit more on the fly than some other finalists he's very strong player and that pays off on a game like this where repeated looping shots or repeated ramp shots can get you to bogey or quickly to monger and you know she's already got the monger up and he's got two letters and longer just from ball one so his score is not not really indicative of his progress he has he's in a much better position than it appears so we missed ball one so probably he just spent all fall one going straight after monger yeah which is you hit the purple shots to raise the monitor and and then you hit monger so those pinkish reddish lights in the middle kind of and a half smiley face their spelling those out is gonna start multiball so he's one shot away and here we go and then the multiball you repeat the process of how he got to monger in the first place which is phrasal monger shooting a loop like that and then shoot the center shot six times every stop to the center is a quarter million and if you complete all six you have a super jackpot opportunity which is to shoot the center one time for three million he's probably also gonna try and now hit it directly in the center he's gonna try and graze the side of the monger like that because there's a there's a magnet in the center that will grab it yeah during that really short ball save with three balls flying it's good to just pick off a bunch of shots but then you want to envision making right here is outstanding super lit up the middle trapping up when necessary and taking a potshot when it's what's the right thing to do this is great play and oh great save there to keep the multiball alive he's got a few seconds here and take three million up the middle one more chance perhaps and now it's not there but that was still a pretty decent value in the multiball but he can't be too thrilled with how that came out at the end no it was right there yeah that's a bummer because he has 5 million he would have been up to 8 with that one shot as I mixed in the chat the three of the four players in this game are are from Seattle Washington of the Seattle area which remain from nearby Redmond and they play each other on the regular at weeklies and League now here they've got to play each other again but it also probably takes some of the edge off of having to compete especially for someone like like Richie who is relatively Green to big tournaments like this to go like oh yeah I played Todd I played Jermaine I know these guys I know I can beat them what it shows lifetime stats vs Jimmy 80 tournaments together Todd vs. Jermaine 42 and 42 and 52 with to tie solely so they're pretty evenly matched I guess we could say that's terrific David Oliver had a tough ball there it's got some good ramp progress so he's close to bogey I think David is yeah bogey on it on a game like this where the word set harder than a typical Iron Maiden bogey becomes more valuable all of those little things you think well that can't be worth that much there it becomes worth a lot more when your target score is in the 10 million range then then in the 20 million range and again bogey is the ramps it's hitting five ramps to start and then all your ramps are lit for increasing no I guess actually everything's literally yeah during bogey you took the ramps or the loops one thing I've seen a couple players to is to to start for bogey right at the begin of the game and then use both use bogey time to shoot their loops they're gonna have to shoot loops anyway to bring out the monger you might as well get a half million for your elephant for every loop and that's a good way to get your feet you know your feet wet in the game it's like the only kind of controllable return you know back to the flipper and Bree definitely agree with that so Todd that Todd takes the lead with 5.2 and some shrimp progress on mongers going one more shot to start monger multiball on ball three so the score you see there is gonna probably be at least seven seven million total just getting into that multiball and here's Jermaine Jermaine has monitor almost ready but he didn't have a strong start but that's that's what Iron Man does it it it makes a lot of decisions for you unfortunately like that was great play there but he took two warnings and there wasn't anything he could do but otherwise like she said he generally would prefer not to take mate not to take this game in in a single game for me that's where we're seeing like these are low scores you know it's and the game plays fair you know they didn't necessarily this is one of the games that they didn't have to make much more difficult than it are like they did shortened the timer on the on the multiball ball save so yeah uh got that third ball back but don't be anymore I said he really needs to play this carefully here and try and cradle ups of it still time here to get three millions take that quick shot oh well that's a huge shot there for Jimmy Mario if the grace period three million that puts him into the lead on this game beautiful and this is also good to hear that dick he's back and just trap up settle down you don't have a time limit just get you get your heart back to normal so uh okay we don't doesn't matter I was gonna ask what he should do next all right so so Richie what do we think Richie should do here or if she's already played longer multiball depending on his his strength with the ramp shots I would consider going for bogey here because he's unlikely to be able to make all the munger shots that that he needs the other thing he could try to do is go for the Iron Man Iron Man fast scoring by shooting the target the red targets on the left hand side and then shooting spinners and that turns out to be worth quite a bit more than then it appears to as a first impression so he's probably thinking about that right now just like what do i do do I go for the ramps I need five ramps to get bogey but I can still plow some points here he knows that he knows a todd has long run with you already so he's chasing at least eight to ten million here and not five and a half I'll say when he started for a ramp there one of my biggest complaints on Ironman is it's an info the fact that you can't find out your progress towards whiplash I wasn't roans I was trying to do that yesterday with drones for some reason it shows you when you hit them but you got to be able to look oh no busted live caps hair on the right with difficult rubbers that's been happening a lot I've had a lot of trouble making live catches on these games they're set up hard with fresh rubbers and those have effects on your your play that you don't really notice at first so Richie temporarily ahead of Todd but Todd has longer ready to go he'll he'll probably pass routine and then David Oliver is up here and he really has to think about where he's gonna go given the stories got to chase he's got it one shot to bring up Munger but those bogeys those ramps are really appealing since he's hit them a few times we're gonna be seeing this for the next 33 seconds I guess as he counts it off so we got some orbit what would be a good it's good let's see what would be a high-scoring bogey round like six million yeah we're good bugging around can can be worth six six to seven million that's if you're doing very strongly one thing that makes it difficult for him to play a good a good bogey right now is it he has almost all the longer letters yeah and on one hand that's good the monitor is gonna come up but the monitor is also going to block his ability to shoot the left ramp and looks like he's just gonna try to take monger directly up here with the loop they remove that Center post or it's still there but it doesn't come up on the back so you don't get to like rest of it as the monitor comes up it's gonna go oh dear oh and that's what that looked like a good save on the right and he pushed that too good too hard yeah the intuition is just get it out of the sling area there is a nice it hit the post he'd nosed it perfectly except wait you too hard I completely agree with you there that's that's you gotta brush that off deep deep he played well very nice place to be you want to want if you go to a couple of points of the first game like oh dear that's that he got victim of the ball save time huh yeah they really shortened these this is not your walk out to your local arcade play this game I don't like that shot what what's he gonna do middle there so one of the things you may be trying to do two things you maybe try and take drones which are the the blue lights the other thing he might be doing which is a little a little rarer and deeper rules knowledge is if you hit all three of the spinners you like super super bumpers and super members are worth fifty to a hundred thousand per hits until they run out and they can they can last a long time so it was possible there to pick off extra points there Jermaine has one and he's gonna use this time to play out just Frank relaxed and joy get get comfortable so the next game so the next time he gets he has to play iron Iron Man he can look back at this to go man I played great on that ball and here we finally had to see somebody play bogey entered it at ten million so we can sort of see how he does here and most common is just to do ramps right because you always get the ball back safely and unless you're trying to like if you're old longer was up and be building greater jackpot value by hitting spinners and things like that if you're stacked with Iron Man scoring what you think you can stack you might want to hit spinners yes I agree with you definitely well he's making quite a few consecutive ramps here yeah shot there for war machine as the time was running out because we're machine would have given him another 20 seconds worth of bogies you know what well I guess we're moving on but I've always been confused about that with the with that of what do you call that award the shield award the worm she nor that's gonna give you random Awards okay so you late you light all the lanes up top and you have to complete the set right okay you have to light all six lanes so there's the top two and the inlanes and outlanes but you can cycle through them all yeah that means that as he's making bogey ramps as he was he's also cycling the lanes to give give those completions every completion is a bonus X and it lights the war machine shot for the random reward so if you're in bogey it adds 20 seconds in any mode that has a timer it will give you extended time okay if you're in a multiball it will give you an ADD of all and if not it runs through a cycle of awards that's 200 thousands bad increased pop bumper value bad light extra ball which is 3 million points light special which is 9 million points so if you go through those what random award you can actually get some some really high value stuff but it's it's far enough off that nobody really cares actually I should not know this in a special through that before it's more more often happens on Big Buck Hunter where the awards are the same and the the random awards are much easier to achieve you can get up just from a 3 bank we're going over to monster bash here and this is Jason Weirich starting the Frankenstein multiball and didn't quite get its sense of what the scores were but we got to score bit integration so you can see it right there all layers sweet score birth is amazing yeah if they so they were here last year score bit right but they've got a basically a little computer inside the machine that's you know interpreting the data and spitting out scores in real time oh it's so good really crazy good and it integrated with the scoring app that they used with the never drain scoring so the score keeper would come over when you're playing monster bash your score would already be entered that was just insanely good I could not believe that that was happening and then and worked for many of the classic games as well like ball tan and some of the games and classics and write like what's your score oh it's already here we are we're truly living in the future and so Jason has 20 Wow 26 million at the moment here and he's this is ball three and he's out in the lead so he's just gonna just keep making shots right he's just kind of try and Pat his lead yeah then that was nice there he's got this he's got the combo oh darn a double drain yeah this combo of shooting through the spinner and then and then shooting the right ramp from out the spinner that's a nice thing to have as you can rely on that to get the ball under control you can take a lot of points off of that did you guys play this in qualifying I did did you know I played it I played it once I shot into the scoop mishandled the feed Skoda's shot it into creature mishandled the feed and then bricked a shot what didn't play it again Bowen what were you doing went through the spinner how are you dealing with the return so yeah an honest game and actually in this format the format punishes you really badly for a bad game so you want to find like a simple thing that's worth points and to me that's moshpit multiball okay yeah so I shoot the spinner through and then I would try experimenting with different things on what to do like the easiest one is to tip to flip flip away and have it go up the right ramp which is what Jason is doing if you can do that you're really gold you can just go combo those goes back and forth that did not work for me so I tried with not flipping and having it bounce over to the right flipper that did not work and then my third choice is one of them I feel lucky to have in my arsenal because I'm um I've got timing on it for whatever reason it's a live catch on the left flipper than that what that was working well so it's spinner live catch bounce over meanwhile I'll see we've got this is Carl it's up to 23 chasing Jason's 32 he's in Frankenstein with mummy running oh that's nice I think he's starting mummy now actually I didn't really have mommy going but he's in chasing down the 30 two million that jason has this is it's going to be close he's gonna want to take the left loop here to start full moon oh he's running full moon so one more shot to the left loop or right loop should do it for him there'll be a four million shot that was a really nice bounce wish we could see the button I'd like to know if he had any weapons available he definitely didn't have any anything for full moon fever he would have used it right away he has now passed with that full completion of Wolfman he has passed Jason both of these very strong scores under the circumstances of how this is set I wanted to point out how that how his multiball ended which was he had two balls trapped on the left and he's trying to do a cradle separation and one of them just graze the slingshot let's think shy one though these was really active sling oh my goodness in this game so so much harder than it looks oh yeah they're so yeah he just needs a Creech to get all of his characters oh that was gutsy and what is it Weaver ball three here right yeah so the the insane thing to do here would be also to take the ramps he's in ball and chain right now he's involve him or he just finished just ended ball and chains yeah oh yeah in the volunteers didn't know it didn't get the instrument okay so so just creature what one one more to start some motor so more shots for creature to start mode and they shot into drak hell is nice oh that's lovely to 1.3 million round I've got a specialist with it this is great great play from crowd oh the final shot here like monster bash on the left we do how he seen anybody get Monster Mash I talked to two or three people but that moment has one of the greatest sound bites of any pinball machine you drain ball three on the now lame when Monster Bash is ready the game just lets up this huge blood-curdling scream no just had all this value there that was such a good ball Colin taking over call him from the calendar a home helps that I was just catching up on the chat here yeah the that's true with with score but so in monster bash when you're in multiball like that it doesn't display the score for a very long period of time it's like constantly there's modes running and you're constantly seeing these jackpot animations and so it can get a little bit behind it has it needs to see the score to interpret what it is so Carl score would have been the eighth place qualifying score at this game I like Holmen to do this yeah I love how finals do that they they bring out to the quality of people's play and here's what we're talking about looked like he was man so yeah Nick was trying for moshpit there and he had a busted live catch both times first time I managed to bounce over the right flipper so successful in that second time had managed to bounce over the right flipper but he fired away into the try and hit the spinner and hit the hit the Frankenstein instead it's hard there because you don't you're stocky the ball is on the tip of flipper you gotta aim for something as a bailout and I like having the creature and the left loop has bailouts in those situations then you gonna say all right I got the ball under control again or it's somewhere where I can relax for a second flying away into a tough target like that the Frankenstein just puts you in a world of hurt unfortunately for Nick really strong play and qualifying but he will pick up a zero there for a fourth place and we multi balls what what do you what do you determine going for them I like you know as a mildly recovery player I'm shooting those stand-ups and trying to get the chest month of all going first cuz I find that easier for my game than their amp left ramps much safer if you can hit it but if you miss it you're in trouble do you choose the guy who gives you easy multi balls on the chest so in in this situation maybe in qualifying I was actually trying to get my modes going so I was actually starting with chapters lit just had to get a decent score because if you don't get your multi balls you've score no points the character decision is an in one and it has this dramatic effect on everybody because player one picks character first and blocks out that character so I would get I'm guessing the player one picked the easy multiple easier multi balls character so Raymond has easier loops it means you can just combo this indefinitely that upper loop to get towards that multiple multiball yeah that's a nice thing to get that - making enough inner loops like that just get you whatever multiball movie multiball that is that's the movie with the the Johnny Depp I think thanks yeah we're really left in well there's three inlanes on the left I guess and the middle one is the one that drains you and that's what happened - Raymond they're just straight out I'll say the pirate awards are actually kind of valuable in this game managing those six lanes it's so hard oh boy it is and you don't really have a sense of how valuable those awards are until you're like oh my God look how huge that quick looking dirty there I was only really one miss one minute to do is stand up and Wow so work through two balls and Dominic with a very large leads and as bob said there's rules knowledge is probably gonna turn out to be pretty important on this game and he's the one who picked this and it's showing okay and his character is the easier chest yeah that's that's always a nice thing to have but allows him to get to the multi well to the one you were talking about keep in a quicker way than the others so he's got his map lit he's got to go multigo already right now yeah so I would suspect he's gonna just do this looping because why not that's and that's that's cool right there except that that's not cool but there's this cool hole up back there that sends the ball up into the pirate ship and you don't quite know it's there until you shoot it it's a nice nice play filled future but often it dumps the ball it's one of those the design of this game it it's got that magic like that first time you played a game with the subway and the ball came out in a different spot and you're like that's amazing this games got a lot of that yeah and it really confuses people playing it for the first time if they don't know what to expect where the ball is coming there's something positive to say about those kinds of like ball manipulations I think it's probably a great experience for you know newer players to pinball yep on top of the the the spinning disc so quick update on the scores here Dominic is comfortable in the lead with 340 something thousand and then we got Marquez on 24 right now Raymond has 37 and Fred is in last with twelve thousand and then so plundering I heard Carl mentioned that plundering is on and it was asked him to share three times 30 gold so he's gonna take 30 gold from Dominic and that will light for him no this would not be the right choice pick the 55 buddy oh we be warned uh that's exactly what we're just talking about not not being aware of where the ball was gonna come from Wow what's interesting about the decision is he's robbing from a player who hasn't played this played their turn yet trying to try to keep keep them out because now Raymond steps up with zero gold instead of 23 goals maybe that was so crazy I like well choice but if he'd taken 30 gold instead he would have lit the multiball immediately but he had 25 gold yeah by adding 23 gold he still had to make some shots so I guess it's really a trade-off between does he think he can catch that 341 or is he playing defensive yeah and to me I'm trying to get into any multiball at all at that point to try and get some distance ahead of Raymond putt was player three and Fred is player four but like two keepers credit like this adds a new level of strategy to competitive pinball actually making these choices yeah in some regards I agree greatly in other regards I'm not happy with this choice because Raymond and Fred were both affected by a maccas decision and maka chose to hurt Raymond's in effect helping Fred and you have these like knock-on effects from player player to another player that I mean they don't they've defined then they're just the decision made by the game design but not the game kind of rules designer in this case that that's nice play there if you could turn off plundering entirely right that's also a decision by the tournament directors you weren't aren't able to punt thunderballs from other players they turn that off but other things were plunder of all right that's that's a great decision on the part of Keefer and he jacked the ball per letting the owner or the tournament organizer and make those decisions yes we're on you know some older games you just steal locks from players and steal their stiller jackpot value and all sorts of stuff and there wasn't Doubleday or anybody could do but ya take highest score so when you get into multiball here go go on get into more multi balls most likely right that's sort of how I've seen people play this they will stack yeah that's good a good idea and you can see them sort of aiming for the chest too yeah so Wow are they gonna how is room I'm gonna stack in and I'm multiball er what's that's a super that's a big super there whoa cut half the distance basically so far he doubled his score in the last ten seconds here's like every character in the game was left for this mode whatever vote he's running it's got what 11 characters to hit he's hit ten of them the only one left is that right side chip target up in the top corner oh here we go is gonna saves those kinds of outlanes on all sorts of games one of the things I love about the setup here oh that's amazing they let you play like you can nudge there are not hair triggers on these tilts they make the game's hard other ways yeah and additionally they've set this game up for per ball for ball tilts I said per game tilt like some of the other didn't over again Wow some that was a fantastic ball and it's so you see it's such a great ball turning the second second place only but that was Dominic's Dominic's ball wanna ball to built that lead and he needed it 330 340 to two hundred thousand for Raymond and guys you told me I'd get two hundred thousand on pirates away yes I'll take it get me out of here so step one for Fred is pass maca so is there an easy way to get fifteen thousand points under the circumstances no but before that it was it was what you said it was he really needed to get into a multiball there's no source of that many points even playing remote successful he would probably of go to five to seven thousands yeah that's disappointing we just needed 17,000 to pick a point yeah both those last two balls for Fred were Snakepit because he really only made one miss on each ball and the game punished him with a direct train that was uncontrollable I was watching this in qualifying yesterday and I saw probably six or seven people in a row not break 40,000 on this game it's just I'm not sure what why exactly but [Applause] so we're nearing the end of the first game of the first round here and yeah do we have scored no we have a we have the the screen that shows us the overall standings of the games are completed gap that's good idea and luly's wagons hunter has 6 points she has tied first place with Derrick Thompson they're gonna be playing a tiebreaking game on bow and arrow yes and Derrick has won the tiebreaker Wow what was crazy outstanding play did you get a chance to see Louise last night I did 300 on at the Blue Note 300 thousand that was so much higher than anyone had achieved the entire weekend Blue Note and and in the finals just dropping this enormous bomb I was so good that and then Derrick needed a specific set of set of things to happen in order to make it to a tiebreaker and he pulled it up pull it off Blue Note has taught me the most interesting thing with so many players including myself which is not a single person reads this school scorecard their real card no because I had so many conversations with people who they were like what you're supposed to hit the unlit targets I'm right here propagated through the entire room over the course of the weekend as more sports got better and it made my scores worse than that that you've helped knock me out of classics final but that that knowledge everybody shared that was about the only thing I knew about Blue Note coming in here because it had been used in the pin masters or oh here it is after one game we thought we did not see Adam McKinney win on Excalibur that the game was selected by Johnny Monica unfortunately took the last place on it but no one's out you don't get through in the first game on the first game its three-game set all three games are four two one zero score so Carl D'Python Anghelo was the chimp was the winner there his first game of monster - Dominic Kasich was the winner on Pirates of the Caribbean and we saw Germaine with the strong game on iron man win there everybody still have to play for there are several players who are relatively new to competition or new to success accomplishes like Corey done this is his first time in finals at a disk and he just he just crushed every like crushed all over the place yeah he won the B division last year okay here came second in classics one yeah yeah he's playing great very strong Nick Stein from San Francisco also another emerging player who's made the finals here I don't know his history or whether he played the final 24 before that he was also in the beat well he was in semifinals maybe of B last year or quarterfinals and actually he yeah he played in City champ this year I was looking at his resume recently he his second competitive tournament ever was six at City champ Wow he only has 15 or 20 tournaments on his on his resume and his yeah okay wow that's that's terrific yes this great scene amid often a player makes a final like this the first time there's like this just joy of the qualify that when you get to the point where you have to start competing you don't have the nerves that some other players might have like oh I really need to I need to win this or I need to play well or they're like and this is great I'm here don't get to play Sunday has that been the case for you guys yeah like the more success you experience the more pressure there is comes and goes I think is also just effective like what else is going on especially if you start losing losing advancing like oh is this the end is this the end there will be no more successes and start putting pressure on yourself so only if you see me wearing headphones I'm under I'm pressuring myself I'm trying to relieve that pressure by let's thing and dancing how about you like for me when I come to an event like this I have no expectations of really doing well I'm a decent player and I can hold my own and I know I can do well but when I make it into those finals I'm not expecting to come out I struggle in my like local scene where in like the bar League that I run a lot of the people just expect me to win and that can add a lot of pressure and you know I have trouble stepping after that game when people are coming up to me and they're like oh you're gonna crush me and this is no fun and yeah that's pressure yeah I get that frequently it's unfortunate because I think that sometimes the other person is not not saying it within with a negative intent but it but it has that like deflating feeling of well if I win it sucks and if I lose it sucks yeah and then we're not it's not really good like I got 2015 classics last night and some people who weren't they weren't trying to like make me angry but they're like you didn't make it in the classics final what happened just just shut up and it's all good but that also comes with this territory of being being known as a really good player so congratulations well yeah local scene get a chance to see the begin chants play some iron made in the qualifier dilating once and had less than 10 million so I have nothing to say this is a game I did well on I did a 255 I made him oh that's great so hey there you are get out you're in the house right there up on the scoreboard what would you do that game I started trying to get trooper lit just at the back so you know yeah focus on these job targets to get get that lock for the confidence once I had it going I'd you know I'm a recovery player I'd accidentally hit the spinner and move moved it to fear of the dark and so I managed a stack fear of the dark with my multiball and a 2x and that's where my fights came from I take the risk in qualifying I was taking nearest to hit them all the players it was the first first point on my card so I went for the super skill shot to try to get my 2x I didn't get it but eventually I got my targets going because that multiplier can really matter yeah so the two skill shots are available you can see a white target lit up in the center there that's the standard skill shot it's advantages not points so much as it is a ball saver so you get a small amount of points which feels good five second ball save in any letter yeah send any letter making the next mode easier start the other thing you can do is hold up the little flipper and have a around to the for that little clipper for the bar-shaped skill-shot alright so Jason is stepping up ball one and so yeah we're running a new code here 1.06 it made a few changes to how the game plays specifically much more I would say for a casual player much more points in flight of Icarus by boosting the base value no you can now you don't lose your lock progress when you lock yourself out in a mode yeah that was one thing I back in may talk to you first got the play this game talking with Keith about that like yeah we'll take care of that eventually and it's in the game now but definitely something that's that's nice to have it was like Jason we're seeing going here what I like maybe he was just doing some Eddy letters here possibly so the the white shots there's five of them those are each giving you letters in the word Eddie and he's now one away he now has them also that yellow lit yellow light right at the middle is with and if he goes up there he'll start the lit mode which is Icarus mmm-hmm which is a ramp mode and he's probably just gonna do that or take a shot at the drops on the way up there yeah I think he wanted to try to aim for the drops he cleared the bottom drop already so it's the two other jobs you said that you said you have to complete those that was lovely oh you have to be both that Bangka drops three times to delight the multiball some of the settings are harder than a typical iron baby oh what a nice drop catch that would that's actually love that on the premium le it's just that that kick out out of the hole you can do that drop catch and it's just like it's much easier to handle so we talked about trooper multiball being the drops there's another main multiball which is mummy which is the captive ball near that upper left flipper and Jason take a shot at it there as it came out I'll do it again probably here I think yep yep so now he's got he's got his lock lit for mommy and he's got his troopers so he's hot this is a great start and probably try to shoot the left ramp here now he's gonna go directly for trooper trying to start trooper while Icarus is still running perhaps maybe he's got 14 seconds left on trooper it's in the upper right on the display there I'm sorry Anna Icarus and here we go so that's that this is lovely this would get him up to 25 30 million as an expectation but there's there's plenty on the table he could he could kill 100 million here right right away really short bossing he's cradling there off the bat ball stays over and now he's got straight up the middle we'll be at a ball because he dropped the target to drop targets and request another 10 seconds it's been out of the icarus clock but this is where when you said you you were able to switch it to fear of the dark this is where that comes in like Icarus this is a fun mode but you're not going to get a lot out of it and this won't add a ball he's too late if he doesn't get that right yeah it's gone and it's gone you could hear how happy he was about that so now mummy lock that left ramp is probably his focus there we go a 2 million or does it Chris is still learning how interesting there is that Icarus roared you for making combos left ramp right ramp but if the sarcophagus lock is ready it overrides and it still gives you the combo time so even though a plunge another ball the right ramp right there was lit for 4 plus million and I haven't worth taking a shot at so we talked about the multiplier earlier you can see that he has two excellent right here and he can start it by going through the left in lane but every time you flip it switches to the other side so he's probably gonna try and avoid that for a little while until he gets something interesting running and then I started and I'll take this opportunity to do a public service announcement on my least favorite feature of this game which is the those lanes flash when you hit jackpots so that you cannot actually tell which one is lit during your multiball many times don't have things flashing on pinball machines what what do you could hug how do you know it's a pinball machine cast have lots of flashing lights blinking things so he's probably going after many letters oh he's going mommy just going on I don't mommy here so I agree with you though there's an opportunity here to bring in how it would be that name into mommy which is a great he's already so close to starting mommy that it's gonna happen particulars in sis is ball one you know and he has some time to set this up it doesn't have to happen right now and how low this could be a huge scoring play for him if he gets to hallowed at 2x he avoided to X there so it's interesting like what did we set up like okay he's still gonna have all that ready to go on ball two and I wonder if he's gonna try to start hallowed maybe he'll slip up and reconsider kind of let me know that yeah he's got the he'll have the skill shot available for the Eddy letter that way I think progress and there's a few ways to go about that well well it's just a very very strong ball start the game a 40,000,000 Bowl that that particularly with some of the low scores we saw in qualifying that's he's in a great spot right normal skill shot Eddy letter and ball save hey I think the ball save is what people want the most is that the only skill shot they conceived all safe some of the super skill shots the secret skill shots give you've also but it's not clear to me whether those are installed Baron I think in a competition install that we have here the only skill shots are the regular and the regular the normal super skill shot I did see one player plunge the Outland and did not get any before it had been a drain did you do that actually i think i think i short plunge I plunged and drained and then I beat the auto plunge into the left out way oh my eye yeah that that plunging left out Lane is a nice one it's a inspired by Congo but the super skill shot being made we pick back out lane and it's worth 20 million normal play so you can pick up 20 million for free a beatific oh we got it we got it Chris and a llama completion for crawl D'Python Anghelo very fast very fast to get to both of those balls already in the sarcophagus so that will just redirect shooting the little hello is dangerous I was just gonna say were you guys shooting the loops much never ever it's it's great if you can hit it six or eight times in a row but as soon as you miss mm-hmm you drain so a my maiden at home I consider Luke Jack 5 to be an easy way to light a tomb award yes like because I just I know where the shots are right now the field but no way would I do that in the match play situation I'm only really gonna do it if I already have a multiball runnings and I happen to have the ball up in that direction then sure I'll take a shot at the loop and trigger the loop is a jackpot so hopefully if we get to see somebody play tripper we can talk about how the values get increased by completing jackpots it's really really well done yeah I saw Keith have it I don't know 250 million super in hopefully of all qualifying yeah he got all about he got everything and then he got the to explain also so it was gonna be a big value anyway but then everything was doubled and then it was doubled again when it passed the super what we saw your 250 million yen on the home and high scores and he did it in one getting run to the hills on it's like all right it's so really really it's really hard to get to even under those circumstances but why I don't expect to see anything like that but we're talking about that New York tournaments Keith got number of the beast in qualifying on like a ridiculously hard game and it was one of the most incredible single performances I've seen so since we're playing a premium there is like a strategy where I think mummy is a lot more valuable because you've got that lock to get yourself into a single ball multiball play where you can play safe does it change scoring when you do that yeah so when you put it in the lock during so you hit a jackpot and then you lock the ball and then while it's locked you get two times switch hips towards qualifying the next jackpot okay and then if you hit the jackpot on the captive ball while the ball out and ejects the ball it's too excellent so like it really does but I like I like the fact that you've been play single ball you can play that moment multiball and single ball play for a while well that's oh that was actually a really great ball by Nick I mean we were chatting here but he had a couple of great nudges to save the ball from the out lane coming in play he made almost all of his shots and then you know missed one and and he's out and it's hard to be happy with your score after a ball like that but then you just look at your decisions and what you what you had control over when you got you're absolutely right it was it was an excellent ball so Jason terms of his play Jason is two shots away from mummy multiball on me captain say there were quite a while I wonder if he's thinking about the what we talked about earlier about starting Hallowed there's no simple white shot to do so he'll need to shoot the loops or the ramps to get the white lights then the underground yeah he's got two shots left to the captive ball to start mummy multiball and sometimes you can get to a two for one off that captive ball well in the way that it Newton's so it now is that you know you might not want to get one shot away because you could accidentally start it you use two different Eddy shots so we'll see here what he does if he tries to right ramp right loop this oh you know what mode is changed here he's on oh he's on a multiball now oh yeah this is bad so now at this point there's no you no reason to do that and he's well thank you so he shook his hand all right it's the far left spinner that changes the mode and he on his plunge he went through with just once of the spinor moved off of hallowed and in this game you can't stack the multiball modes with the regular multi balls so yeah now this is what he's realizing it's something I don't all right he's one away here bad luck they're just bad luck all around if he wasn't trying to go through that spinner on the left it just bounced the bumpers and then came through and kind of kind of messed up so he's gonna have to just next ball hit the Kiptyn captive ball start to accident I forget what he did at the very start I think he pumps around really hard he tried to do the strives to go shot tried to oh we tried for the super skill so I think to try and get 3x multiplier so 2x or possibly we get a free shot of the captain ball Oh from the upper flipper that's that could be it too it all takes the regular skill set again or at more free any letters to million points that time yeah Carl also walk double oh wow oh I was a lovely save yeah oh it almost just went right back in he didn't do enough but it was just exactly like he waited too long but somebody didn't I don't know I was wonderful beautiful and I think he's probably thinking about just bringing this ball of cats when he can with this balls does not happen and he has now done the same thing as Jason and moved to marinara said he can no longer snack okay now in default settings the ring oh oh oh oh default settings but I'm saying default settings the center ramp is lit for any letters for your second mode also but here it is not okay so after the first mode you can't use that Center anymore for yeah what normally happens is you get two modes and shuts off the easiest one then two modes and shuts off the next easiest one which is the orbits in this hard come hard settings both of those are after one so you get one mode to shoot the center shot only one mode to shoot orbits is everything else is is Ramson so we're in Mariner here he's got these three blue lights on the left and each time he shoots one they're gonna shift towards the center and now you can see wow so good now they've moved to the right side and he needs to shoot them over here and move them back towards the center for the center shot right sides tough the last two shots on right side have really hard and now the drop targets are in play as a qualifying shot here it's a little bit took me a while to understand that you have to complete the entire bank you can't just hit the drops once yeah there you go it happens what happens is if you had drops that was partially up before you can finish off a stack and so now he either completely drops again or shoot the inner loop which forget about that difficult a harder shot in the game probably oh and if you take too long you blow back yep blown you off Network moved over here that blows so but this is if he gets this he'll get a soul shard for the mode you just need to complete the two sides and if LUMO of course again so he's gonna need three shots here I like to do two right ramps and then and then the drops with the drops once but that's what we're seeing oh that's you know didn't get them all fatigued he still got time it could happen here that was not another boss you know that was a little bit he didn't know where he was there so if you if he had lit the purple whatever call that orb Lord he would have that would been an out of all just there but right mommy multiball so 50 switch hits I think likes the jackpot on the center and then the two ramps will be an animal yeah the the number of number hits required increases for each jackpot so the first jackpot is available after only 10 hits I think all right and then does 10 20 30 40 oh no it's double drain and done Wow disappointing that was brutal he did get it he got a ton of points out of that Mariner multiball which is usually not very valuable but swept right through the first half of that and almost completely the second half he's getting very good jackpots and then takes him in the lead at 55 million with Jason at 41 million Jason still has money to play and Marin are ready to go so the only time Mariner is really I think valuable is if you have a moment they feel multiplier is if you multiply the hurry up it multiplies the base value of the jackpot oh that's great and then didn't multiply those again yeah double-double that's a good combo and just an otter girl was saying I only use the left flipper to take shots at the captive ball that's definitely what let's see a lot of people do and you'll also see a lot of people just fold it up and get it to ricochet into the drops and take some of those like to go aiming for those inner two shots or I usually just have control that was so nice there by Colin who only took one warning for that mommy's ready to go one Eddie letter so Center to start if you're taking a course with this I think is the right call so maybe suit in the center out first here does does having dangers ever impact your to the choice for you guys here like he took one there but let's say takes two is that a reason to really put off starting multiball no I don't think so because I'm less likely to nudge a game during multiball didn't am during single trailer ball play he chose just start the multiball ignored the mode yeah you know I don't I don't like that decision so much because you have to make the ramps anyway the two ramps in in this mode the two ramps during Momo multiple will give you an out of all so there's left ramp that's gonna let you sit that's gonna lock it up now he just has this one ball and play double value right ramp give us a bunch points and add a ball and if you had started Icarus he'd already be six to ten million indecorous besides at this point and now there's another animal available right so now he's on like Phase two so all three of these will be an animal yeah it's a yeah the two orbits as well as the two ramps so even again with Icarus like you're gonna be making ramps anyway during this multiball and might as well some players end up blowing off the jackpot sometimes because you're too busy thinking about the the outer balls he's gonna he's probably gonna get this right right loop and right right ramp for animal here on a stage flip that was beautiful stage flipping to let that ball come down and he must handle the trap whoa just being able stage flip on the fly like that I got will I wouldn't have done that I wouldn't have thought to do that right now I want to learn how to do this so now he's an interest in single ball play and I don't play it Greyson single ball play yeah this is a dangerous game for him and there's other stuff to do like going for these are my rocks like like you're saying with with up that flipper and taking the drop targets the only needs one more completion the drops random order by one of the one of two measures I find on the premium the fact that this this over here is actually a captive ball that you can hit Dom need errection 'el yeah actually built kind of like a pop bumper and you can hit it from any side and you hit it by accident a lot more on the premium yeah I feel like you do have a little bit more control over when you cash in that jackpot on the pro I like having the greater variability in the direction over there like that having it being kept the ball means like it glances off there and it goes any which way and it's it's it's kind of more fun than having a stand up there to me but I agree with I agree with Lee he says well it does make it less controllable so Nick has a multiball mode lit and just locked for mummy so he's got aces hi this is a good valuable mode to get going on also all right talk about I don't score too well in Aces High so tell me how did it better so right right in the beginning of Aces High you can take any four shots he wants find your favorite four easiest shots and pick him off they're each gonna be worth that and the center shot is really valuable here because it gets multiplied by the bullseye effects oh so he got he got almost four million from that that one Center stuff he missed an opportunity there for the add a ball yeah he took a shot up the center and he in the grace period probably could have restarted by hitting the high rate Brian the previous coat like if you to code ago Aces High wasn't worth very many points with a rebalanced it okay there's the danger of loops we were left and right ramps are also lit for Icarus collect so that's why they're flashing in two different colors and when he when you make it oh he's got two X there on one of the inlay when you make any game there's the center is the center ramp and center ramp in the original rules is a hundred thousand of shot but it's it's unlimited so what players would do if they playing for score is bring down the little target gate that blocks it and then just shoot the two the little ramp as many times you can it's a wide thing it's right in front of you it's pretty unmissable and the can we pull it up you're playing safe which left safety and strategy you're gonna go for that center or center and ramp all day all right so that that loop hundred says like loop lights millionaire 100,000 per loop and you're like what a hundred thousand and it's right in front of me and it returns to my flipper easily yes please I will do that and I will do that and I will do that so over the last few years mousing around went from being a game that wasn't used in tournaments at all to again that was using tournaments with modifications and the two major montt the two modifications you'd sometimes see it see large posts even larger than the yellow posts you see on this game making that center center gap narrower so it was makeable but dangerous or disabling the thing altogether so that you just couldn't shoot the you could open it but you couldn't shoot the thing and kill it off and this guy Soren because we're taking games that that have sort of bad wraps as as competition games and making minor modifications to the rules that are attempts to make the game more palatable for competition and sometimes sometimes some of them are better than others but in this case what this one does is when you lower the the bank you can still shoot the center but only until you spilled cheese and after spelling cheese it will it will shut off it will close but now you say well okay that's not worked very much I open it up I get one hundred thousand six times and then it closes forget it I'm not gonna bother doing that so he's added value to that shot four consecutive shot to the center so if you can fully spell cheese by just stood in the center you can get like two two and a half million points from that that whole cheese and will also like the kickback did you say that that's right just completing one two three will like to kickback and shooting that ramp for the first time will like the the million lights which are the left ramp from the right ramp and like big deal like gap a million on this game is substantial because this game is playing like mother and the slings are really tight the left though the kickback is not on at the start of the game and the right outline is much more difficult than is typical on on now so now were you guys going plunging up top or were you taking the short punch i sometimes with short plunge until i short plunged into the right out lane and had 10,000 football won at that point I did not start plunge anymore and then I moved away to play other games that were less less evil but Jason Jason's definitely played a lot of mousing around in his competitive life and in just playing pinball in general like there that that that is not safe that is that has a small chance of just kicking off the side and down to the right at 1-over although he's already most of the way through to a spelling mousetrap which lights a multiball and this so this is even if nothing else happens on this ball it's a fantastic start here for Jason only one more letter left and you can get it go up by going through the left in lane yeah what's gonna probably happen here is he's either gonna shoot that loop and get as many points he kind of loop he's feeling confident about that shot or he's gonna also try to spell cheese cheese will raise the jackpot value so there's a letter and cheese to two more letters to go oh-hoh then oh that's kind of what I wanted further I went further the left and he thought it would get his right flipper out to tip it away that it was it was over to the left so that was saleable but strange kind of strange role he committed he had committed to moving it that way he put his body weight already on the right side of the machine so the the center post is removed I guess this little white white fake center post there just a hole where there was or a you know no but in until well guess one of the things I was sitting you know talking about so you plunge up here if you go through the lit lane that raises your jackpot right now you buy five four thousand which you can see actually right here then it'll go up further but will will lose sight of it after about two million but this play makes you think it's a right it moves yeah so the spot letter is lit here but the switch is a little bit above where the ball comes out from that ramp and and every switch head moves it scraps ready there's there's lock one for Colin you just locked it here and now I don't need to lock it here yep this is a new skill shot the right side is the one that's easiest to hit he gets it so he's jackpot moved up and immediately drains but that's ok he's he's fine he's got guys progress he's finished mouths Chaplin ball one eyes he's actually gonna make it more difficult for other players to earn points because by locking one ball this was the other players get less skill shots they lock one up and it'll kick out the other one instead of giving you another plunge so it'll be harder for everybody else to get to 3 million jacks nick is eliminated but he played so well he is 0 it's not okay so and he we haven't seen anybody go for the center yet although he just accidentally picked up the 1 and the 2 is does that progress carry yes so he's gonna maybe he'll we'll see him go center ramp here he just needs one shot yeah I think like I'm pretty sure the notes on tell farms it's probably adjustable but I think they do care but like general buds I was hearing was people weren't gonna shoot it on purpose but yeah he might he might super three on purpose if one and two were already done and might as well this I don't think has any cheese letters so he can get the full Street combo going oh yeah bad cat that'd be a good game for soar into Honolulu I'll make it don't make bad cuts a good game that cats needs to be what it is definitely are similar vintage those two games another complete so now here's where here's where Nick made it harder because there's a law on the left flock Jason will have to either shoot the left ramp or post transfer here to get the right lock where she's the left ramp to transfer it over right picks it up and now it's gonna kick out of the lock on the left instead of giving him a new plunge and so if you're not ready for this sometimes players can lose the ball right there if their god the game doesn't really announce it very well like oh you have plunge them nope you're dead so now he needs to go over it up here yep the other option here is to complete cheese and he doesn't have any cheese letters and his jackpot is at the lowest value but if you're like if you're thinking okay I need this and you go for though I we've also learned the cheese letters do not carry over if you had most of cheese ready on ball one post pass there yeah he picks it up it might have been better there to shoot the right target in the lane and then have it come back to the right flipper from there now there's a 2x scoring opportunity on this scan yes it's not common to see players aiming shooting for it is to start multi-well with two consecutive ramps will light the target on the right for 2x scoring the lasts 15 seconds now so why wouldn't somebody do it right before a multiball like that because it's gonna run out okay before you can get the jackpot you're gonna get your time will run out what you would want to do is tap one ball and then double up before whether these leaves look to kickback how did you do that or is it or is that a different life no I think so you get one two three I didn't even get one two three maybe he's starting multiball likes to yes and the game has been selected it is rich deep sea wheedled oh and we can move over there right now I think they're doing practice because see we doles was brought over as a additional game they every anybody gets thirty seconds at one time on it because it was no chance to play at a qualifying and it was it brought over because the top seed chose it yeah the number one seed gets the throw one of the games out so and bring in one of the games from any other Bank this is a practice ball here everybody gets 30 seconds of practice because because it's a new game so Asher tossed out Carly Davis tossed out Harley Davidson was a a game that some of the other top players had shown lots of expertise and big scores on especially Keith and layman I had no idea how to play that game so I stay away from but they were making these big value loops and that's just good at sea which it's interesting is I feel like there were games Escher was better at classics but this might be the one we felt like he has the strongest advantage I'm playing more of it it's a little I'm a little surprised by that choice and we we played him being classics one on this game right and if my poor play was the only reason he made a true oh man I know he enjoys it for sure play better next time I worked out testing buzz hilt there so I saw let's go through a little bit of the rules here just this fantastic design one of the most unique designs that I could think of in in solid state has 11 drop targets and three banks and there's an X in front of the drop target banks the drop target lived for X will advance my bonus multiplier and there's a maximum of 7 X bonus every drop target you make get adds a thousand of the bonus so make an e drop targets is nice but you want to make this complete them in sequence of center bank left bank right banks and that's completion so one thing you can do for example is get two out of three down on the left bank then when the X moves over there just hit the one remaining target to finish it off the same with the upper right bank so it's it's common to see players throw the ball up into the up for rights get some get some targets down get it bouncing around Bombur points and the green lights in the back they are also important the four green lights they're labeled John Paul George Ringo they add 200 each to the spinner value and they can make the spinner value were thousands of spin and that with the with the way this spinner is that could be worth 50 to 60 or more thousand the shot and if you can make that shot and keep repeating it around the loop you get a loop out a loop Onis for every loop you get the spinners and you really start getting this huge each point action and you though maxing the bonus right maxing the bonus is that the first goal there's a loop that's got to be worth about 20 points there and that this was live that was there was low on for generally two approaches to pungent short plunge and try to sweep the bank from the right flipper or what Jason did which is hard plunge and hold up your left flipper to get into the bank or maybe try to shoot up the third choice is the super short plunge and see like what happens the path of my what's happened to both players is is the reason why I don't like their decision and sure you can Deacon drain on anything in this game but all right he's going short put like that's I think that 400,000 should be enough to advance here so he wants to go for this upper bench drop target Bank probably that's where then his next X is meanwhile by hitting other things he's already builds himself up to 27 times 27 times 3 he's got almost hundred thousand and bonus coming they cleaned up some things in the design with beetles of this game you saw him shoot the orbit and then it just rattled in here and was kind of unable to repeat that shot yeah nice and also there's a greater ability to shoot that loop from the lower low right flipper videos that Riptide equivalent
