All right, in today's video, we're going to be checking out this absolutely massive arcade monitor from Unico. This is their Fenix series 30-inch LCD display. Chances are you got a cabinet out there where the CRT died, you couldn't rebuild it, your game's down, you need something, and you want to stay true to that original aspect ratio that the arcades played on. Well, this might be an option for you. All right, tour of the back side of the monitor here. As you can see, it's all fully encased in metal. No wires or anything you have to worry about shocking yourself. Here we have the OSD menu controller board. Got a little LED light indicator there. But we got your power button, menu button up and down, as well as your auto configuration. The length of the cable is definitely on the shorter side. I do wish it was longer, especially if you're trying to adjust the picture because this thing can't even go around to the front. And if you got this installed in an arcade cabinet, then it's even worse because then you're having to use like a mirror to try to adjust things. But, you know, um, Unico, please make this cord longer. 12V input there. We got our HDMI input, VGA input, as well as our audio jack there. Inside up here, we got our CGA and EGA connections for the old school arcades, as well as our three adjustable pots there. And that's it. Everything is nice and neat, tucked away inside this metal case. Most people are going to be using the HDMI and VGA connections for most newer games that are going to be using a monitor this size. As far as mounting options, we got the holes there on the side on the left hand and the right hand. I do wish we had mounting brackets on the top and the bottom, but it is what it is and this should be sufficient for most folks. All right, let's do a quick look at the OSD picture settings and menus. Should be very quick. Go up here. As you can see, our menu options. We got picture options, position, and language. And that's pretty much it. Going into picture, we got brightness, contrast, sharpness, and then we have color temperature. Color temperature, you have a few selectable options there. Brightness is already maxed out at 100 right out of the box. Contrast and sharpness are middle of the road at 50. And we have our settings for our picture size. We got horizontal position, vertical position, as well as horizontal and vertical position size. So, should be enough options there. But that way you can really dial in your picture and get it adjusted. Optic Blast. [laughter] Optic Blast. [screaming] Optic Blast. Smashes him. Second and goal. Lazy move. The score is tied. One minute to go. Easy. So, at the end of the day, I got to say I was very impressed with this Unico monitor, how it performed. Ran it through your standard LCD test. No issues whatsoever. No dead pixels. Refresh rate 60 Hz. You know, that's more than adequate for retro gaming. Black levels are great. Side to side viewing I was really impressed with. Originally I saw that this is a TFT monitor and I was like, "Oh god, that's a terrible decision." You need IPS or nothing, but you know, they have a decent display in here. It's got good viewing angles from the side. It's not your standard TFT. When you take your nose off that center line, it immediately becomes washed out. No, that's not the case. Thankfully here. 30 inches obviously is going to be a very commodity item. There's not a whole lot of arcade cabinets that kind of, you know, dictate needing this kind of display. Like the showcase cabinets, candy cabinets, a couple others out there that maybe had 28-inch arcade CRTs, this would be viable for, but not a whole lot of options out there as far as use case and absolute needs here. But I'm happy to see Unico, you know, filling a void out there in the community. I was also very happy to see for fighting games that the response time on this is much less than older monitors they've released.
