The Wild Dog Arcade presents the eighth wonder of the world. Hello and welcome to the Wild Dog Arcade. I'm Ed. And I'm Gary. And boy, we are excited to have this with us today. We have the King Kong Pro Edition, ladies and gentlemen. Yeah, we're getting ready to unbox it, so we just got it the other day. We're going to take it apart and put it down in the basement and hopefully you'll follow along. Time to cut the box open. Let's do it. All right, that's the straps. So now what you want to do is you want to open up the top, split the sides, and peel it like a banana. Ah. Banana. Banana. Banana. All right. Let's take some stuff out. We've just got some foam and some other bits and bobs. we got our instructions on a new lock bar. We'll stick that right next to the other one. Yep. And we have the guided setup mode. Yep. Guided setup mode's important. All right, Gary. So now we've got most of the foam off the top. We've got the legs right here, I think. We've got the legs right here, but now if you're tall, that's a leg and that's a leg. You'll probably have to pull the cardboard carefully and pull the legs. All right. I can't reach it. I'm short. Yeah, you have to grip it pretty tight when you grab it from the top. It's not completely. The metal part starts like way down there. I can't reach this one, so you'll have to come over here. The cardboard came out on me, so. Ed, being tall, can reach this stuff. Yep. Almost. All right. That's the legs, boys and goyles. Boys and goyles. All right. Now I'm going to peel it. Boom. All right. Cut this stuff off. All right, we're going to slide toward the back and walk it off. Tip down carefully and pull the pallet out. Pull the pallet out? Yep. It's on now. Oh yeah, you got it. Okay, just sitting on it. It's on it. Oh, yeah, you got it. Just sitting on my pad thing. A what? This thing. Okay. All right. All right, here we have King Kong Pro Edition out of the box and off the palette. So here is what it looks like Fresh from the factory Yeah, we can't wait to play it. We got a chance to play it at the Stern Media Day and we really enjoyed it, so we thought we'd pick it up. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Wow, that was a lot of effort to get the game down into our basement. Unfortunately, we don't have a walkout, so we have to go through that procedure to get the games down here safely and without injury. So, we've been playing for a little bit. Not that familiar with the rules, so I'm not going to walk you through the rules. But I am going to walk you through some of the shots and the features of this game. You can follow along with the little diagram that I put there on the right side of the screen. So, let's get started. Number one, the Kong drop targets. The Kong drop targets are right here and they are most commonly hit by this upper left flipper. You can also hit them with the lower left flipper and you can also sweep them with the right flipper right across them. So there's multiple ways to hit those Kong drop targets and that's one of the ways you you qualify the main multiball in this game is hitting those those targets. Number two on this list is the log diverter. The log diverter is right behind this upper left flipper and that comes up at different points in the game. You can see this blue insert. If it's lit, it'll automatically come up, but also your action button might be lit blue and that means you can manually put that up. Why do you want that? Well, most of the upper flipper shots need to get fed that way and the diverter needs to be up for it to go. You can stop the ball actually when the diverter is up, you can trap the ball right there and then you can hit one of three things. Kong targets or there's a stand-up target right there and an upper left ramp. That is the cliff ramp up in there. Left orbit shot which is number three on the list is a shot you commonly hit off the lower right flipper Goes up goes all the way around So when you hit it clean it really satisfying It feeds this upper right flipper If you hit it a little not so clean and you rattle it it come back out the center here and feed back down so there are two different ways that one could come out of there number four is still in the upper left area it's the cliffs ramp so there is a ramp kind of hiding back in here and that's the cliffs ramp when you hit off the upper left flipper it'll go up that ramp and it will feed it over to the right it'll come hit this bumper drop it into here and then you'll have a nice shot set up for your upper right flipper. Number five on this list is the leap of faith. This has definitely got to be an homage to Indiana Jones a pinball adventure with its narrow escape and how they're able to do that is the left side of this game has a different lane set up than your normal stern left side. It's actually got three lanes on this side and the out lane is in actually the middle so the middle is what will drain the left side will drain you know will drain through but it'll go through this one-way gate to feature let your left flipper now the leap of faith itself there's a post in here and the ball might hit this rubber or you can maybe slap save it feed it back through here and then you get your shots off your upper left flipper so that is one way to save the ball number six on this list is the biplane ramp and that is an upper right flipper shot right here upper right flipper it's this ramp right here it's actually a tight steep ramp so it's gonna be fairly difficult and it's very late on this flipper so you can hit it it's satisfying when it happens and you know you'll be really good what it does when it goes up it comes down and feeds through this curly cue feeds it down to the right side. Number seven is actually off the upper right flipper as well and it was just above that nice biplane ramp. There is actually a passageway in here. It's a tight shot. It's a little earlier on the flipper. It'll feed it up, it'll feed it around and then it will feed this upper left flipper. What's really fun about that is if you feed the upper left flipper you can then hit the cliff shot with that and it will feed it over the right. So you can kind of bat it back and forth like you're playing tennis. It's really satisfying when you get a good round of that going. Number eight is the easiest shot to hit in this game really. It's the center ramp. The center ramp is also where you do your locks. So on the Pro we have it is a virtual lock setup. It'll just go up, the ball will just feed back down to left flipper and you'll lock a ball. On a Premium or an LE, it'll actually divert it into the train car which is this space right here. We don't have that that because we have a pro but that is a pretty important shot but it's not that hard to do. It's easy off the upper right or sorry lower right flipper. Tight on the left flipper. You can do it but it's definitely tight because this post is actually a little bit in the way so it makes it tight. Number nine is the center river shot. So that is this shot right here. There's actually a spinner in it. It'll feed it down to the upper left flipper. It's one of the most common ways to get an upper left flipper shot is through that. Now it's an easy shot to make from the left flipper. It is a very narrow window to do it from the right and you mostly got to be stopped or with a really slow roll but it can be done. It's actually not that hard of a shot especially from the left flipper. All right moving across the play field to the right. Number 10 the gong shot. So this is this shot right here. On the pro it'll just go into the vertical up kick, kick it around and feed it back to the flipper. That is where you start your story modes. Like any of the like there different stories that go on and that where you gonna qualify them Premiums have an actual mech that will actually block that shot until it qualified Pros let it go in but it just doesn count as starting the mode until it is actually activated. Number 11 is actually a really fun feature of this game. This is the right orbit, but it's not really an orbit. It goes up to the right, it goes around, there's a kickback target that will kick it back around and feed it to this flipper. That kickback target is, we've got two things. We've got the kickback target and the secret entrance. You've got the secret entrance right there. It'll drop into that sometimes. Some modes, it actually does not kick it back because it wants it to go in there. Now we'll just feed it to this buck and bring it around. Kickback target is hiding right back in there. That basically will kick it back around the loop so you can get it to the upper right flipper. Now that's one of the most common ways to get it to the upper right flipper. Do a left shot to the right orbit, punch back around and hit this. Then you can hit some of the other shots. Number 14 on this list is the Spider Pit. Now it's pretty obvious on a pro, you see this big giant magnet here, it probably looks like a record to you. That actually, there's a multiball associated with the Spider Pit. There's some targets right in here that help you work on qualifying that. So that's pretty obvious. premiums actually have a spider that covers that so you can't see it quite as well the pro it's pretty wide open because we don't have that neck and the last thing on this list is number 15 and that is the concave so it's a shot under this upper right flipper it'll go up and drop into this vertical up kick kick it back feed it to the right flipper now it does a couple of things that's your mysteries are there you're also extra ball will be there when you qualify an extra ball and you hit that shot you get it so there are three things that it does so the concave is lit so it is definitely fun this has been a fun game I like the layout of it it does it's got a lot of interesting shots but they all feed somewhere to do something else there isn't any you know unexciting shots in this game it's a really fun game and we're really enjoying it so when you get a chance to play one I hope you do too all right let me get the alcohol so I can clean the balls how do you clean balls with alcohol let's find out yeah no no don't go there don't I know what you're thinking don't know don't all right all right so yeah these are coated you can see my fingers don't forget to do that yeah because they bag them up with oil so they don't rust got Got it. So I'm just going to saturate a rag, roll the ball in it, clean it off. All right, so now we've got six balls. I've cleaned my hands themselves with the alcohol, so I can pick them up. I'm not supposed to pick them up with your bare hands. Put all the oil, your hand grease all over it. Off my game. Yep. All right. Great. Well, I think that's it for this video. Thanks for watching this and watch us play live pinball on YouTube and on Twitch. So hope we see you soon. If you jump in, say hi to us and have a great day.
