So, before you open up this beautiful box with a beautiful topper in it, we have to get the old topper off the game first. To start that, you're going to go ahead take the keys out of your coin door. And there's going to be some keys on that chain labeled H95. All of our displays at Spooky Pinball are H95 keys. So, you're going to take those and go up to your display, put them in, open up the display, and we're going to remove the back glass and go about the rest of the process for getting the original topper off the game. When you're taking the back glass out, you just want to push up and then pull out towards the bottom section there to remove it safely. And then you're going to go ahead and unplug the number one cable off this RGB board. Uh it's not labeled in this video, but we're actually going to have a label for this for uh it just being called the topper cable, so it's a little easier to [music] identify. And then all you're going to do from there is pull this cable through these dloops up the left side of the head over here. Uh we're going to have these run in a way that makes it as easy as possible to pull through. So you don't have to cut any zip ties or pull it through any harnesses or any kind of garbage like that. So you should be good to just pull this right through all these dloops and then out through the top of the head. So once you have this cable out of all those dloops, you're going to go ahead and pull it through the top of the head. And then once it is completely free and outside of the game, you can go ahead and start loosening up the wing nuts inside of the head. Uh you get both of these uh unscrewed from there. And then you can pull this topper just straight off the top of your game. right. So, now we can, of course, go ahead and open our topper box. Make sure it's facing the right way. Uh, if you can read all the fonts that the pictures are facing, you know, right side up, then you have the box the right way. You don't want to open this thing upside down. Uh, so go ahead, get the box open. You're going to be met with a little baggie here called extra hardware. Uh, in case you already got rid of those wing nuts from the previous topper, uh, you're going to need this. Uh if you didn't, you can just reuse the wing nuts from the first topper. So, we're going to go ahead and remove the foam from the top here. And then you're going to be met with Mr. Beetlesnake himself right there. And then our next step is going to be to get the rest of this foam out of the way. We're going to do it very gently. You don't want to start ripping and pulling and, you know, tug up on it and he gets raised up or anything like that. So, carefully remove each of the side pieces and then the back and the front pieces of foam. And then Mr. Beetlesnake will just be kind of sitting in there all by himself. And you should be able to just reach in and pick him up straight out of the box. At this point, I like to set it down. And you're going to see that we have these two wood boards here. Go ahead and give those a little pull so that it comes off of those screws that are sticking out the bottom of the topper. Now, we're going to open up the plastic wrapping on the side here so that we can get better access to the inside and begin [music] uh pulling him out of the packaging here. If you get it nice and loose and wide open, you can just pull it out right by yourself. This is easier with two people, however, if one was to hold it up and the other was to just pull that plastic wrap off of the side. So, now you're good to go ahead and go up there and place the topper on top of the game. Those screws are going to line up with the same preholes that you had from the first time around. Make sure to not wedge any cabling underneath the topper as you set it down in there. Go ahead, peel your plastic wrap off the front plastic and get that foam piece off of the tail off the left side. Now, you may be noticing that something doesn't look quite right with the hair of Beetlenake [music] on your topper. Proper hair maintenance is extremely important to us here at Spooky Pinball. Today, I'm going to show you how to maintain your hair on your topper. There you go. Now that Beetlesnake is no longer having a bad hair day, we can go ahead and throw the wing nuts on our last two screws here to make sure that the topper is fully secured to the top of the cabinet. get these things really nice and snug just so that you know it's never going to wiggle loose or go anywhere on you. We're going to go ahead and undo these cables right here now so that we can run them out through the top of the head of the game. These are going to plug into a board up on that topper. So, go ahead, pull those out, run them through one at a time, and just get them pushed all the way up through the hole so they are sticking out the top of the game and hanging out the back side. Once we're on the back side here, we're going to grab this 5 and 12vt harness and we're going to plug it in. Make sure it lines up with those pins and it'll snap all the way down. Should fit on there nice and snug. And then same thing with the Cat 5 cable. This will actually have a loud click once it's all the way in. You can give both of those a little tug to make sure they're not going to come out or have a loose connection of any sort. Now, our cables that are going to go inside the head, they're going to be wrapped up really nice with this Velcro piece here. You're just going to completely undo this and get your cables run out the full length, nice and free. Once you have these nice and free, we are going to run them one at a time through the top of the head here. So, you're going to go back down through that hole. And then after you get this pushed through there, I find it easiest to go to the other side of the game and start pulling it through kind of while I'm [music] feeding it on the back side. So, after you have this pulled all the way through, you can go ahead and start running it through the D-loops and back down to that lightboard. Uh, I'll admit this step isn't entirely necessary. You don't need to run it through every single loop. But what you do want to make sure you [music] do is get those cables away from the lights. See how the cables are still hanging in front of the lights there? When those light up, that's going to cast this horrible looking shadow behind your backbox [music] into your back glass. And you don't want to see that. It's going to look really, really annoying. So, [music] just get these cables run out to the left side over here, so it's completely out of the way of there. And then you can go ahead and run it down and plug it back into that lightboard. The the cable management in the head at this stage [music] is really up to you guys. You can run it as tight and clean as you want, or you can just run it down the side and plug it in and, you know, be out of everything's way and not really hurt anything. So, entirely up to you guys how you want to go about that. And then we're basically doing the exact same thing with the USB cable that powers up the Spooky Speak microphone up the top there. Running it all the way through the front. And then in this one, I'm actually just kind of running over and I'm tucking it behind these wires and pulling it down the left side. Again, primarily just trying to get it away from those backbox lights. And then I'm tucking it down into the corner here. We're going to plug it right into the computer. It goes in the top left USB port of the computer. It technically doesn't matter, but this is the one that we are going to leave available for everybody. So, uh, make sure you get the USB on the first try, not the second try. And then I also have some zip ties sitting over there. I'm just going to grab those and kind of tidy it up a little bit here, just [music] so it looks a little bit nicer. But again, it's up to you guys. So, after all that, you're pretty much done here. You can put your back glass back in. Fold that display panel back up. Uh, go ahead, get the game booted up. Go in the menu by hitting that green door, green button on the coin door. go down to feature settings and that's where you'll find all your topper features. Uh go ahead and make sure that your spooky [music] speak is turned on and you can adjust any other settings that you may want to adjust for uh how the topper interacts with the game with spooky speak and other features like that. But you are all 100 completely set here to enjoy your beetle snake topper. Extremely important side note here. If you are ever going to put your playfield in the service position, make sure you grab that piece of foam from your coin box, put it on your apron, and then make sure it's on there nice and snug and tight. so that when you put your playfield up into that position, you don't set the apron or the playfield or anything into the topper and damage it and chip it out and scratch it. Super important. Don't forget it. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at our service uh email or phone number as listed on the screen here. And thank you everybody. Enjoy your Beetleake topper and your Beetlejuice pinball.
