Hello my name is Joel Engelberth and I do streaming on the Flip N Out Pinball YouTube channel. I stream every Wednesday night with my brother from 10 to midnight Eastern Standard Time. Feel free to check us out. Thanks for clicking on the video. I know here in the video section you're going to see a bunch of other tutorials that I've made. But if you click the live tab you'll be able to see all the past live streams that I've been doing. And I'm super grateful that Zach and Nicole have let me borrow this game. This is the Monster Bash remake. This is the LE, the limited edition, by Chicago Gaming Company. This is straight out of Zach's personal collection. And I know I'm a big fan of Cactus Canyon. I'll be doing a tutorial on that sometime soon. But I love the Chicago Gaming remakes. These are some of the classic games. The original was designed by George Gomez. The original code was done by Lyman Sheets. It's just a classic. This is just a great pinball machine. for anybody to play. So I was very excited to borrow this. We streamed it the other night and had a great time. And honestly, hopefully this tutorial should be pretty easy. It should be pretty easy to go through. So you guys will have an understanding of how to play the game. So normally I start off all my tutorials talking about the layout. You're guys going to see pretty quickly that the layout is very easy to understand. Outlanes, inlanes, nothing crazy. Two-flipper game. The main objectives of the game are right here. There's six universal monsters, and they're in a rock band. and you need to get all six instruments. That's how you get to the final wizard mode right here in the middle, Monsters of Rock. You've got to collect the monsters and their instruments. That's how you get to Monsters of Rock. What are the monsters, or where are they? Well, Creature of the Black Lagoon, he's over here. That's the creature shot. Far left, you're going to hit that shot four times. That's how you're going to start his mode. You can see there's lights that indicate how many times you've hit it. Four times. That's how you start his mode. Then the Orbits. The Orbits are Wolfman. Wolfman's the only guy that doesn't have a sculpt on the playfield, but way in the back He does have a plastic that shows him off pretty well to start his mode. You have to hit the orbits four times There's gonna be Four individual inserts and that's how you start his mode then the ramps the ramps are the Bride of Frankenstein These are some very fun ramps. There's one and here is the other lots of squiggles very smooth ramps You do have to hit the shot clean because it can definitely make it like halfway and then trickle back or this one even more So halfway and then trickle back so you got to pay attention But to start the bride of pin bot or well bride of pin bot the bride of frankenstein modes You actually have to hit both ramps three times. So there's inserts in front of each ramp So six total shots to start bride of frankenstein, but you're going to hit both ramps Three times each and that's how you start her mode Frankenstein, that is one of the main multi-balls in the game. It's actually right here. There are two little inserts. And what you're going to see is there are six body parts that you have to collect. So the legs, the arms, the chest, and the head. You're basically just going to bash these targets. Once you do that six times, there's actually a drop bank here that will drop. Once that drops, it opens up this ramp shot. And that's actually how you start the Frankenstein multiball. So that's seven shots to start his mode. Right up the middle is a spinner. It's a juicy spinner. It's awesome. It's great. It's right up the middle. It has a cool sound effect. The key with that is that's how you get to one of the other multiballs, the Monster Mosh Pit multiball. And the way that you do that is you have to hit this shot six times. Every time that you've hit it three times, there's actually rewards like mystery rewards or perks that you'll get here at the scoop. But it's right up the middle. It's a nice shot, easy shot. Tomb treasure helps with points. I think it helps with bonus. It's just a target right there. There are actually three other targets that I glazed over here. There's one right here, one right here, and one right here. These are the phantom flip targets. I'll show those off. It's a very cool feature that was built way back when, but basically the game will flip for you. It's cool. It's cool to show off, but it's also very frustrating because normally your flip is going to be better than the game's flip, but I will show how that works. We also have a scoop we got a scoop right here This is how you going to start you going to get your Extra ball This is how you start the final wizard mode Monsters of Rock This is how you start the mini wizard mode Monster Bash That just by collecting the six creatures or the six monsters Monster Mosh Pit That the six shots up the middle This is how you start Dracula mode and Mummy mode All that is at the scoop Back here. We have three pop bumpers. These three pop bumpers correspond to mummy You have to get I think it's 60 pop bumper hits and that's how you start the mummy mode There is a mummy action figure back here that opens up which is pretty cool when that happens Another way for you to get credit towards the mummy mode is to spell dig That's back there and you can move the The the lanes back there And if you all three are lit it actually gives you credit towards his mode That's Mummy. And then we already talked about the right ramp and the right orbit. The last creature is Dracula. Dracula here has two stand-up targets. And you'll spell Dracula. And once you spell Dracula, the Dracula figure, which hides right here, will actually come out. And he moves back and forth. And you have to bash him during his mode. And that's it. Simple, super simple fan layout. Very easy to understand. There's no plunger on this game. It's just a launch button. and uh yeah it makes for a fun time but let me uh let me show off a little bit of the game uh so step one hit start and you enjoy the tunes you enjoy the tunes there is a skill shot uh basically what it is is with the flippers you can move the light up here you just want to roll over that light once i roll over that light look at the display so the display there's a skill shot one hairdryer what is one hairdryer hairdryer means uh when you're in the bride of pinbot or the bride of frankenstein mode the launch button will flash and if you hit the if you hit the launch button when it's flashing it'll spot you one of the shots um so there are weapons for each of the creatures and some of those are in the mystery mode some of those are in the skill shots but here so for me to start creature all i'm having to do is hit this shot four times so watch right there you're going to see these lights slowly fill up enjoy the animations enjoy the music so that would be the third time so the fourth time here that i do it i'm going to start creature once you start creature there's a timer all of these modes have timed so in the creature mode basically what you have to hit is you have to hit five main shots that's how you beat creature so one two three four five. So let's hit right up the middle. There's one. There's two. That's also going to give me credit for a bride shot. That's going to give me credit for a wolfman shot. There's going to give me another wolfman shot and a bride shot. There it is. So that's how you beat Creature. So not only did I start Creature by hitting this lane four times, I've also collected his instrument because I hit the five main shots. So let's keep looking at Bride of Pinwild. Maybe I'll figure that out by the end of the show, or the end of the tutorial. But there's my three shots over there. Let's get two more shots over here. You can see the inserts are filling up. So as soon as I hit this shot, that'll actually start Bride of Frankenstein. So when you're in this mode, you want to hit the ramps. You basically have to do it again. You have to hit the ramps three times each, There is a timer running. If you ever want to restart the timer, you're going to go up the middle. So if you look at the display right above me, it'll tell me I have 22 seconds left. If you go up the middle, that's going to reset that to 30 seconds. So let me hit all three of these. Okay, it's all right. Don't drain when the glass is off. And that should, so I have her. So let me go ahead and hit her one more time. There we go. Now I have the microphone. So that's how you start her. and play her mode. This mode, it looks like it continues. So let's just ignore it and let's try to light Dracula. So Dracula, we're gonna hit these targets. Look at the display. Hit it two more times. I collected the L, collected the A. Dracula lit and ready to start Where do we start it We start it at the scoop Let go ahead and start at the scoop So I started two monsters I collected two instruments I now starting Dracula What are we gonna do in Dracula? We're gonna hit him now. You're gonna see him move around What's actually unique with this is if you hit him if you hit him while he's moving It's actually worth more points, which is kind of clever So there's two There's three. I think it's six four See, I don't have the guitar yet. Oh, missed it, but I got my extra ball. Great animation for extra ball. Oh, yeah. You can cancel any animation with double flipping, but, I mean, the animations in this game are so good. All right. So this has a timer as well. So 30 seconds. So there we go. That's how you get his instrument. Now, I've already hit the orbits three times, so I only have to hit the orbits. There's one. I think I have to hit the orbits one more time and that's how I start Wolfman, which I just started. So Wolfman has started. What do I have to do? How do I collect Wolfman's instrument? If you had to guess, you hit orbits. Now if you notice, the orbits aren't stopping. They go all the way around, so it's fast. So it's fast and you've got to pay attention. That's how you collect Wolfman. And then the last one that I have to do is Mummy. Mummy is really hard to do. What you can do is you can just shoot up top and then hope you get enough pops. So I have 20 pops left, but I'm gonna cheese it here There we go, so now mummy is lit so now that mummies lit we hit the scoop and that's how we start mummy So in mummy mummy is all about getting a lot of points the way you get points is with switch hits So there's a few different ways you can do that You can hit orbits and try to stay up in the pop up up there or you go for ramps ramps Give you lots of points So you see I don't have the guitar yet, but let's see. So that's two ramps three ramps for ramp By brand there we go. Let's go six ramps. How many ramps do I need before I get that? Come on, come on. There we go. Nope, six isn't enough. But I've qualified Bride again. I've actually started Bride. Because this is the second time Bride's going. So there we go. I've got enough stuff to start Mummy. So I'm just going to go ahead and drain just to finish those modes. But that's basically starting five of the creatures. The only one I haven't started yet is Frankenstein. So let's go ahead and do skill shot again. You want to make sure you roll over it. Hair dryer, so that would be Bride of Frankenstein. So let's hit, let's bash Frankenstein. So there's one, there's two, there's three, there's four. Oh wait, I got phantom flips. Let's show that off. So phantom flip is lit here. You can move that back and forth with the right. I am not touching the game. Boom, it flips itself. It's pretty crazy how that works. It's really very creative. There's another hit to Frankenstein. One more. The thing has lowered down, so now when I start this, when I hit the ramp, that's how I start the multiball, the Frankenstein multiball. So, when you're in this multiball, the goal to collect his instrument is you bash Frankenstein a lot. Now, I don't want to show you that, because I don't want to show you Monsters of Rock. What I am going to show you, though, is being that I've started all the monsters, once I get out of this multiball, what you will see is monster bash will be lit so i'm gonna go ahead you can hit jackpot shots which are the red shots and you bash him so if you actually hit multiple jackpot shots before you bash him you can get double jackpot triple jackpot so now let's hit him let's hit him there we go that should be a bigger one double super jackpot so if you if you pay attention you can get a lot of points with this. I am purposely not going to collect his instrument, but what you will see now is Monster Bash is lit. The reason Monster Bash is lit is because I have all the creatures collected and then all you have to do is hit the scoop and that how you start monster bash if I would have collected Frankenstein instruments monsters of rock would be there so obviously I've been recording just a couple minutes here but you can blow through this game if you play perfectly but the challenge here is that was me playing all the in all of the all of the character modes individually what you can do though is you can stack them so I'm actually going to show that here real quick so let me go ahead and reset the game what do I mean by stack them you can basically get every mode real close ready to go and then start them all at once why would you want to do that because there's no timer when you do that so let's go ahead and hit our skill shot there we go skill shot one garlic clove garlic clove would be for track so I can get track going so tracks list I can get animations take a little while yeah yeah give me that ball there we go let's just do wolfman the wolf and get some pop bumpers going so that means wolfman is three shots so there we go so that means I'm one shot away from starting Wolfman. I could get this going. I could get Frankenstein all ready to go. Okay, so that means basically that's three other creatures going. So what do I do? I start one of them. Start Drac. So there's Dracula going. Then I start Wolfman. Now I have Wolfman and Dracula going. And then I start Frankenstein multiple. So that means I have three creatures that I'm all trying to accomplish at the same time. This is the fun part of this game, the risk reward. How many do I want to get all primed up before I start a multiball? That's a ton of fun. It's a very unique aspect of the game, but it can also burn you because you, uh, you get greedy and all of a sudden you finally get two or three all ready to go and then it all falls apart. Um, the last thing I could show you, uh, because I've showed you the modes, I've showed you how to beat each mode is let me show you monster mosh pit it's another multiball but basically you go up the middle six times one two three three ancient scroll collected that would be my weapon for the mummy award four five and six if i can throw if i can throw wow six monster mosh pit is now lit at the scoop that would be a multiball so same thing you could bring a character into it start that multiball and you're off to the races so yeah uh basically 10 minutes of recording 12 minutes of recording something along that and um i showed you the whole game but this game's awesome this game's awesome uh it's the decision making it's the simplicity of it how much do i want to build before i start a multiball or do i want to try to try to go after these creatures individually how much do i want to pick off uh there's a whole scoring aspect to it too so that's it i mean it's really relatively simple easy to understand but it's addicting it's it's fair um it's a fun game the music's great the animations are great I don't know. It's just this game. I love this game not to mention that topper up there. Oh, man, so Hopefully that was helpful probably more in depth than I needed to go with this game Um, but I enjoy this game a lot. I hope you guys all have a chance to play the original play the current game Um, but yeah, thanks for clicking on the video. Feel free to check out some of the other tutorials Otherwise, have a great day and come check out the stream See you guys Thank you.
