I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready. Fresh men. I'm fresh. I'm fresh. I'm tired of this, Grandpa. Fresh men! Fresh men! Welcome everyone to Season 5, Episode 3-ish of the Fresh Pinball Podcast. I almost forgot where I was and what we were doing. But here we are again. Kyle's on the board. Zach and Corbin are drinking some beers. We're going to talk some pinball and see what sort of shenanigans we can get into. Let's start by going around the table here I'm going to start to my left Corbin Angeli How you feeling man? Feeling good I've got my skeleton onesie on Happy Halloween You look beautiful Is this our Halloween special? It is Should we talk about spooky games? Not just spooky games I mean something like Halloween What's your favorite? Let's get around the table Yeah, I'm doing good. I'm doing good. I'm excited for Halloween. So clearly we haven't done an episode in a while because you guys are raring to go with all kinds of stuff. I thought we were going to record one like Monday or Tuesday, but then here we are. It's Wednesday. This is a rare Wednesday recording. We don't often record on Wednesdays. We don't. Have we ever recorded on a Wednesday? Probably. At one point. Okay, anyway. And sitting across from me, Mr. Zach Angeli. How we doing, man? Oh, flippin' fantastic. How are you, Jeffrey? It's been like three, four weeks since we recorded. So many things have happened. It's been a while. It's so many good things, so many other things, so many pieces of news. But yeah, I'm doing great. Good. Kyle, on the board over here, how we doing, buddy? I'm flipping fantastic. I'm glad to hear that, Kyle. Because we're here with my pinball pals. Yeah, I'm feeling good. Dude, you've been whipping the van around for like two months now. Yeah, I love my van. Dude. Fan life. Fan life. So I walk into Finney's today, and him and Phil and a few others are sitting at the bar, and I have one single lug nut, and I just set it onto the bar, and I'm like, which one of your cars does this belong to? And Kyle's like, not mine. Absolutely not. No studs. No, no, no. It's studs. Take the dogs also. Oh, take the dog. He said he's not sleepy. He's not sleeping, but. Stay tuned for sleeping. He looks pretty cozy. Tank, can you blanket? Oh, man. You want to guarantee he goes to sleep? Let me try that beer you opened. Anyway. Did we warm up his beard to get him to go to sleep? Is that how that works? It's like warming up milk. Put it in the microwave for eight seconds. In the metal can? Yes, in the metal can. Absolutely. Well, let's start at the beginning here. I mean, this is our Halloween special. Two days before the big day. The eve of the eve. It's the Eve of the Eve. I mean, Adam and Eve. All Hallows Eve Eve. Summer's Eve. All the Eves. I think this is the night traditionally the Headless Horseman does his thing. Yeah, I saw a lot of cops out on the way over, so I think that's probably why. Anyway. Noren was chauffeuring me home from Finney's, and a state trooper came by us, and he didn't even react. I'm like, hmm, interesting. I figured he'd be nervous and be like, oh, my God. Oh, Noren didn't react. No, not at all. I was like, the cop, obviously the cop. I'm like, why would the cop react? That makes more sense. He was in the zone of, I can't believe that I struck out in like three or four games and then had to sit there and watch you guys play for the next. Okay. He's very laser focused. So I can see him when he's driving like a cop. I mutilated him on X-Men. Was not even close. No. So when you left, so I'm rolling with two strikes. I get two strikes right out of the gate. I'm rolling with two strikes. What games? Oh, all bad things. Everyone's destroying me. It was me and John. And then the flood came in. And then I was like, I'm going to go. So we go into Ghostbusters. Kyle has two strikes. I have two strikes. Ben has zero strikes. Did Ben take it? I win Ghostbusters. Kyle's out. So now I have two strikes. Ben has one. We play X-Men. Meet just Ben and I. I win. Now it's 2-2. We go over to King Kong. You take it. I took him down. For sure. Like $230 million. Did you get a Mad Pinball shirt? You know, I declined to take a Mad Pinball shirt. You don't need one? I feel like I might have one already in my closet or two. You're stealing them. But it was a good time. There were some costumes. I wore my skeleton mask and Noren wore his Pinball Wizard costume. And Katie went full Oompa Loompa, like orange makeup the whole night. Insane. It sounded like she was something else during her day job. A different costume. What was her day job? I have no idea, but it was not. I know she's ex-military because she had alluded before that she had served. Like if I was Corbin right now and I'm just wearing my skeleton, you could rock that all day. I have a lot of onesies. All day, every day, forever. But she's like, I had a different costume at work. Well, let's talk about some Halloween related games or some spooky games, if you will. Where do you want to start, Corbin? This was kind of your brainchild. So, I mean, I'm just thinking, you think through all the games that you would consider like Halloween related games. So let's think about that. I'm going to put like Ghostbusters. I would say Ghostbusters is towards the top of my. Monsters Bash. Monster Bash. Dracula. I guess Halloween, obviously. America's Most Haunted. Monsters. I mean, there's a lot of. Monsters is a good one. It is. So I'm going to say my first pick as far as Halloween spooky games related. I'm going to go with Ghostbusters. I think it has some interesting features, and it relates to Halloween. The more I've been around that game since you have it at Finney's, the more I'm vibing with it. I love the screaming librarian. The random one in the moat where it just screams at you is crazy. And then even like the – I know the ghost flippers or magnetic flippers or whatever you want to call them. The slings? The slings, yeah. They aren't as tactical or you don't feel it. But it has a vibe within the game. It's also interesting too because – It's a world underclass. Exactly. It's creating the ghost earth, throwing it around. I actually watched Ghostbusters 2 the other night for like, I don't know if I'd ever seen it in its entirety before. And that explains the whole Scolari Brothers. No shit. Okay, I didn't know that. Duh. I'm just saying, it's all adding up, so I'm more into it. I don't know, Ghostbusters is going to be my first pick, if you will. I don't know if we're voting or how we're rating these, but for a Halloween spooky related game. So I mean I think the Elvira ones Fit right into that Yes House of Horrors, Party Monsters All of that stuff Obviously Haunted House Did we say Halloween? We said Halloween Frankenstein Adam's Family for sure One that Kyle had in his basement for a while Freddy, Nightmare on Elm Street I think the best though Of all of them Dracula Dracula Bram Stoker's or the Stern Electronics oh god yeah the Stern Electronics yeah no no Bram Stoker's it's one of my favorites it is a cool game that missed me I was just gonna say the mist with the magnet the mist is the cool yeah that's such a cool make Tales from the Crypt of course yeah if you like outlaying trains what about Creature does Creature sneak in it's more of that classic like hollywood yes i consider like a halloween i could see it it could be loosely classified under that and then the topical one of all topics walking dead zombies halloween costume i could go into it i mean we could all be zombies at any point so we could be reanimated human flesh you guys already said monsters right yeah i said monsters that one definitely makes sense. That one makes a ton of sense. Monster Bash, I definitely... Ooh, yes. ...is in there. Monster Bash is such a classic. It really is. I would still say recently. I really want to get one. Same. I saw one the other day that I was like, we could trade something for that. Jeff, you let me have that remake here for a while. Should we keep that? A long time ago. Like a day? No, it was for like a couple weeks. Did you have that? And didn't you have something? What was on the other side? Cactus Canyon. Oh, that's right. That was two CGC comics hanging out right here. It was a good time. And Foo Fighters before that. Yeah. And then Monsters. The Monsters. The Munstery Monsters. So if we're each picking one that we think is either we could classify as the best or the most Halloween themed? I guess it's hard to say because the most Halloween themed would be like Halloween. Halloween, right? Yeah. America's Most Haunted 2. House of Horrors. House of Horrors all day. Okay, that's fine. So we're saying the most Halloween-themed, or we're trying to choose the most spooky or haunted, or what's the... Let's just say our favorite, per se. Okay. I'm going to go Gottlieb Haunted House. Honestly, that's towards the top for me, too. That's a good one. Because it's cool with the different levels. I was going to say Monster Bash. Monster Bash, for sure. But most Halloween-esque would be Halloween. I would choose. I might lean towards Scared Stiff over Ghostbusters. Scared Stiff, they're both excellent. Yeah. Kyle? How's the horrors, man? Yeah, I know. So good. Did I tell you I saw yours pop up for sale again? Oh, no. So the guy down by Cincy that ended up picking it up from you. It's like 12 grand. No, he was actually asking, I think, less than you took for it in value. Or somewhere. It was pretty fair. We were looking for one for a customer, and I was coming up with options or whatever else. and I'm like, ooh, look at this one. It already has the purple powder coating. Oh, wait, it has the spider web on the side armor. I'm like, oh, shit, this is Kyle's game. Nice. I think he had like 8100 on it or something like that, somewhere in that area. And I'm like, oh, he's being pretty fair on this game. But the customer ended up going with an Elvira House of Horrors 40th anniversary edition. Pretty good. Boo! Yeah, the big, big money game. I don't even know what that one looks like compared to like a Blood Red. You'll see soon enough. I know, it's coming in. It's coming in hot. I'm going to say of the ones of these spooky slash Halloween type ones that I enjoy playing. Winchester Mystery House. I mean, that's the new kid on the block. Look at the last couple of weeks. Beetlejuice, Winchester Mystery House, and Walking Dead Remastered. All kind of Halloween themed. In this season. So did anyone around the table get to play Winchester Mystery House? Yeah, we did. Okay, well, let's get some takeaways on it then. I did refuse to wait in the line, so. Our line was like three people long, but it was still obnoxious. I heard the guy had a super good game. He was just drawing it. That's right. I bought my Hexa shirt waiting in that line. I mean, yeah. For me, at least, as a person that likes lighting on a game. It was very bright. It was really bright for a game. It was all supposed to be a fucking mansion. So it's going to have that horizon lighting that all of their games have now. Right. but it just seemed like overly bright on the playfield for me I wonder if they'll be able to do some controlling of that as they code it I was wondering that too dim it down make some cool modes I mean you guys agree it was just like I have a hard time also telling was it the lights from the playfield no it was the lights from the playfield it was the lights from the playfield it was just in bright like Tep's pen the booth or whatever. The tent. Yeah, yeah, inside. It still would have been like uberly bright. It was pretty bright. It was very like... Which I don't usually complain about. Yeah. I mean, if you're trying to go for like a... How did the brightness react to it? Because I could see from the still pictures, and I thought it was cool how they did like the sling plastics as like stained glass style and things like that. So I think the lighting behind that could pop and look pretty cool. Yeah, I mean, it looked great, but still like... For me, the hardest... I had one game on it I barely got a game on it Whenever we get ours in that'll be the I like the turning mech in the back That kept rotating and changing the ball paths It felt like the ramps mech Mudflaps? Mudflaps No I From the videos and the little bits that I've seen I mean the mechs on it and the ball paths And all of that look really cool So you didn't get to play it? I did not You chose not to play it I did I mean, every time I walked past at the Bell's a Fun booth, it was, I mean, it was long. I think that was Zeg. They had one at the Flip N Out Pinball booth, and that line was long. Did they have one up in the suite that you guys visited? I had a Dune. No, that lineup was Harry Potter, Dune, Star Wars. What else? There's two other ones. So we should back up and tell. D&D. D&D, yep. And the Colorado Game Exchange, correct? Yeah, JJ from the Colorado Game Exchange. He had a laid out spot up there. It was in the 16th floor of the convention center. 1632, Corbin sailed the ocean blue. That's what Keith and I kept saying. That's how we remembered. So anyway, he had it laid out, door propped open. You go in, he had five games up there all on free play. Bunch of Chick-fil-A. Bunch of Chick-fil-A chicken tenders. pizza the next night, I believe. Open bar, the whole works. He spared no expense on it. I mean, Gary Stern was hanging out up there. Gary Stern was signing cardboard cutouts of himself. It was an interesting time. So it was, yeah. Shout out to him, though, because that was a very cool different, and I've heard about these before. You've talked about them at doing it at Texas. I went to the one at TPF, yeah. So I dig it, and I hope maybe one day we can do something as cool as that. Yeah. Or be a part of it. No. Because it was very, yeah. It was very cool. What was that last game? What was it? Who knows? Walking Dead Remastered. Let's talk about the TEP booth from Expo a little bit. So obviously we participated in a minor level of that. But to me, between the TEP booth and the Flip N Out Pinball booth, I feel like those two were kind of... both laid out. So for Electric Playground TEP, as Jeff was saying, I just want to say, backing up a little bit on that, we got that game working. We? We got it working? You got it working. Our contribution to the TEP booth was we brought Rotation 8, and they had literally the perfect spot for it. It was in the back corner, they had couches all around it. We needed a couch on one more side, or a chair on that one side, but either way, it was perfect other than that. So they took basically four pop-up tents. Yes. Like you would see at a festival or a fair or whatever. 10 by 10. So it was a 40 by 40. Yeah, so in one tent was Rotation 8. Yeah, in the back corner was the couch's Rotation 8. Then it had, what, Alice in Wonderland, Pulp Fiction off to the one side. Then the other row was Circus Kong, maybe? And Captain Fantastic. And Captain Fantastic, yeah, with all their toppers on them. And the cool thing with the circus one was the topper was on it, but it was obscured with a cloth most of the time. And then during a certain hour, the witching hour, if you will, they would reveal it. Five to six each day. For people to come in and check out. And it was awesome. By all reports. The alternative art, too, was pretty good. Yeah. So anyway, we got that. So we had it at PGX. It worked most of the time. Then I was like, it was doing some weird stuff. The morning before we left, I got it. Rotationate. Rotationate, yeah. Yeah, we're not hearing about Tep's topper. No, no, their shit was working all the time. Yeah. It was awesome. The rotation aid. So we get out there, and it was working, and we got it working for a game or two, and it was like, well, let's fucking send it. So we borrowed Jeff's 4Runner without him, rode out there with it, and, man, getting it into the building was a challenge. That was our security lady helped us. Dude, that was a fucking un—what the hell? Yeah, it was interesting. Jeff wasn't with us at this time He would have enjoyed it I think I thought Kyle was the new Jeff He was My name's Jeff Hi Ron nice to meet you So anyway we got it into the tent We had to come through the doors Because it's a white son of a bitch And I'll be damned it worked all weekend We got it in So literally the Wednesday night Before we're all going to load up and head out Corbin and I are out at the warehouse rotation aid is there and i'm literally doing everything in my power to try to convince him not to take this game because i think it's just going to shit the bed and just not work and be no faith i literally had no faith and corbin's like no help me pull the core out i'm going to take the boards back you know reflow you know some solder i'm going to do this i'm going to do that i'm going to do whatever or what and i'm thinking dude in my mind i'm okay like yeah sure fine that sounds like a great idea just so you know everything in me wanted to not do it too but i was like i have to try so he gets up at like 3 30 in the morning and starts working on these boards gets it all put back together bing bang boom it's working gets hauled out there and basically runs all weekend with very very limited and i just have to say it was fucking worth it oh the reactions the interaction everybody was so excited about it we got to play with i mean I don't even know who all the shout-outs... You get to play with the Cooks, the Lazars, during TAC. Fucking everyone, yeah. It's all the pinball scientists posting about it. We saw so many people. We talked to so many people. We interacted with... The only thing I didn't come back with, which I thought about coming back with, was that J-Pop Houdini play field way. I think it'll find me, though. I think it'll find me. Oh, boy. It'll find you for $50. it's going to find me soon because Jared told me how much they paid for it originally there's a lot of cash in right now no I don't blame them but anyway all that rotation 8 all the work on it and everything was completely worth it it was so cool to play with people and just interact with everyone on it in the perfect amount of like we could just bounce away but then it would be like oh we're all going to meet back up at the rotation 8 and then you know where to find us their booth tent set up definitely very much felt like a club house. Definitely. I was absolutely happy to be a part of that. Hexaguy's were cool. We got to finally meet our French friends. I thought everything went very well with them. I gave them a couple pocket beers and everything was... They came over and played Rotation 8. You play Rotation 8 with some people. I feel like it seals the deal. No, and they were super stoked about everything about how Expo went down And they announced if you haven already heard they announced their next game So Space Hunt was first What was it What was it you might ask It the Charlie Sheen Three Musketeers Uno, dos, tres, three musketeers. It might not actually be the Charlie Sheen one. No, it's the classic. And they showed animations from it and everything else. And it looks high end. I'm excited to see their next step, the next evolution. Meow, meow, meow, meow. I did hear something interesting. I may have shared this already with you, Corbin, that someone said to me that would have been the perfect theme fit for them. You guys may not be the best audience for this because none of you are really video game guys. Ratatouille. Not Ratatouille. That wasn't it. Food. The last year and a half, there's been this big video game called Expedition 33. Oh, I do. And it was made by, it's a French-speaking game made by a French company, all of that. It would just be like PS5, PC. things like that they're on playstation 5 do you have a playstation 5 of course and four and three and two okay i'm sorry i just i don't know get it together corbin sorry but yeah i think the hexa thing was cool and i've been seeing a lot of pub for them coming out after the fact i saw some stuff retro ralph posted today um i saw pinball jen posted some stuff jen ruper yeah and she said can't wait to see it at my local arcade bitch it's at your local arcade come out and play it come out and play it yeah i think i tagged her and said it's down at finish right now so speaking of ps5s did you see how much it cost you have gt no i don't i'm just asking gta five or whatever the latest gta like two billion dollars or something crazy i don't think that's exact numbers all right but it was more i saw like what cost more the gta or like the golden gate bridge gta that's crazy stuff like that yeah just unbelievable i was talking to someone about social media stuff the other day and they were saying, hey, I want to get involved with this and I want to try to monetize and I want to try to do this and that and the other. He gets paid now. Breaking news. Let me finish this story, then we'll go to the breaking news. And he was like, do you think in pinball I could make enough money from social media and whatever else? I'm like, dude, pinball is so small. There's absolutely no chance whatsoever. You need to do something that has a much broader appeal like video games or you know beer or cars or something that tens of millions of people are interested in tens of hundreds um but yeah breaking news for me after five years of crazy postings and whatnot i made nine dollars last month on the social medias so on instagram office podcast no not off don't say you mean just you know it's on the record They're going to tax you on that shit. I'm pretty sure you made $0.85. Does this cost us money? No, this costs money. Instagram and Facebook are both meta platforms. Both of mine are combined onto that. Anything that I post between those two, then... What's his name? Zuckerberg? Straight to PayPal, baby. PayPal, that makes sense. $0.85. We're going to need two signatures on this one. Oh, so talking about Tia, we need you So I had a total Kyle experience at the bank Whenever I cashed my last mad pinball check Where the lady is like, oh, okay Yeah, I can cash this for you or whatever Do you know this person? Like, yeah, I know him pretty well She's like, okay, well you have an account here So in case this like Bounces back or whatever Your account will Take care of this I'm like, I think we'll be alright I will say, the other day Can I tell them how you told Rory, Steve, Bob, or whatever? That was hilarious. We were moving this guy's games around in his house for him. One's moving from the bedroom down to the basement. The other's moving from the garage to the basement. The guy asked how we met each other without missing a beat. Jeff goes, well, at first it was purely sexual. Room goes dead silent. I was like, it's not still. But it was... We're friends. It was hilarious. We're just friends. And it was like the scene was... We were out in the middle of nowhere. I don't know how else to paint it other than that. But yeah, it was amusing. I was dying. I've been cracking up for... It's been like a week since that. I felt like it was already a very intimate setting whenever I'm literally in his bedroom. I didn't see the lube, but you said you saw a lube, dude. Whenever you're in there breaking down a game, You're just kind of taking in the sights. I was in the basement setting up the rush and you were upstairs. I'm up there moving beds and dressers and TVs and shotguns and dryers. Pulling doors. Stacking cords of wood. He's judging. He's like, oh, no agitator. It's like a Carrollton work day. It was. He had a pond. We were out in God's country. Oh, I'm sure somebody does. I mean, it is what it is. Can we talk about etiquette as far as if you're having people move stuff in your house? I think you and I were talking about that a little bit because I'd gotten a washer and dryer delivered a few weeks ago and I'm very conscientious of since we bring stuff into houses all the time I want to make sure the path is clear doors are off railings down I'm going to say a PSA kind of thing right now if people are moving stuff, not even just us just walk the path think about it, they're going to have to navigate this what might be in the way is this pile of wood is this washer and dryer is this you know i mean toolboxes this tv these bed the bed stands whatever like they're any of that like just move with it everyone will be appreciative that's all no it's i think it's very reasonable yeah i don't mind moving things once i get there but i also prefer you know path at least and we have a pretty good eye about it we can walk the path and say like oh yeah you immediately were Like, let's restack this pile of wood. But you can tell, like, you're going to get to the bottom of it. You're going to try, like, because I've done it or tried it where I'm like, man, we'll swing it. And then you don't. So, yeah. So, Kyle, give me the breaking news sounder here. I need some breaking news. Thank you. I now have a washing machine with a legit agitator. This is old news. It's not high efficiency. I can put as much water in there as I want. Say what? Hot water. In as much laundry as you want So Industrial It's not industrial I installed one with coin shootout Excellent Do you charge your stiff good other To wash laundry in your house Do you act like Anna does laundry It's always All my baskets are full Just slide them to the top of the steps Here's my testament to how great this washing machine is I get in the truck with Corbin the other day And he's like It's like, Jeff, you smell really... I don't want to be weird, but you smell really fresh. He smelled fresh out there. I'm like, that's right, I do. You know why? It's a new washing machine, baby. My clothes are extra clean. I have no problem shouting it out, because you did. I know. We spent enough time together. I can say that kind of stuff. I'm pretty proud of that. I was telling Kyle that we've now started to where we start our days by talking 10 minutes of not pinball first. We have to, yeah. To try to break it up a little bit. There's some interesting non-pinball stuff going on in the world. As it turns out. It's weird. I never know. I don't like most of it. I really don't. One of my biggest ones. I don't like pinball or anything else. One of my biggest revelations or realizations this week was with Jeff. Well, I realized it and then I had to share it with Jeff. Oh, my God. Angels and Airwaves is the same as the Blink-182 guy. No shit. Yeah, I didn't know that. It was a big breakthrough for me, okay? So I had to share it with Jeff because he likes it. We've had other conversations about this. Not me and you. I've informed you of something And you're like oh No that's the same band Alright can I tell my credit card story Oh please do And then we can get back on topic So lay the groundwork for this So I got a call the other day that said someone Put their debit card in the dollar bill thing And it won't come out And I'm like I'm doing this in the morning So I go out And turn the jukebox on sure fucking enough Denise D-Nice had managed to put her I know her name because her credit card was wedged in the dollar bill acceptor of the jukebox and it's like how hard and the bartender's like yeah I did notice she was over there really jamming it but I didn't know what she was doing it was like obviously you didn't know what she was doing so she shoves it in there then she has the audacity to go over to the bartender and complain that the jukebox was not giving her any songs. So she shoves the debit card in the dollar bill acceptor, which it's like the thickness difference between a dollar bill and a debit card. And it was a big one. You're literally fist palming that thing in there. I will say testament to the dollar bill acceptor. I pulled the thing out and it still works. So, I mean, that's a win. But, and then she was mad that it didn't give her credits and it wouldn't give her card back. And then she wouldn't leave her phone number. It's like probably because she was embarrassed. I don't know. She's just going to call in a couple days to see if her card's been freed or not. It's like, it has been. Good news. It's with the bartender. Yeah. So, anyway. Yeah, that was, you guys can guess the location, but I think you might be able to. Can we continue to talk DBAs a little bit? I have a little bit of DBA news here. So we had taken in a couple games on trade a while back, and they came with DBAs still on them. They did. And these were a different brand and a different type than what you typically use or what we typically stock. Talk about it a little bit. So like on sterns, the way you normally do it is you run the – people run the cable, the stern cable from the head, the power. And just for dummies' sakes, DBA is a dollar bill acceptor. Mount it in the door to put your 1s, your 5s, your 10s, your 20s, whatever you want. Ideally a 20. Your 20s. That's mainly what they take. Fun fact almost. When you put a 20 in, it gives you crazy extra credits. I'm sure it does. I think I really will be playing for days. That's why I put the 1s and 5s sticker on. But anyway, you run the cable from the power supply down to the door. And the power supply on the stern is all the way in the head. So it's a long run. Yep. So it's a 110 DBA deal. that's the normal one we do on sterns so we got these ones in that were 12 volts and they were actually coming off of the I want to call it like the coin door interface board I don't know if that's what sterns still calls it but it's the one right inside the door to the left there super convenient super convenient a lot shorter run you don't need that long cable and you just plug it right in and that's so that's actually where the card readers for the sterns they plug in there too yeah so yeah and they Actually, I mean, Jeff installed it. Even I could do it. Oh, my God. It probably doesn't work right then. He tested it, I think. Yeah, he tested it. But I imagine that that interface there is also for, because if you go into the stirring settings, there are ways to put a ticket dispenser on there. So I imagine that that also could power your dispenser. So it also gives you a pulse. Are you playing at Chuck E. Cheese or what? Yeah, for sure. It's interesting that that's still on there and an option. Charles Entertainment Cheese just to get it clear Doctor Charles he's a doctor he did not go to high school I think he's more of a Mr. Pip kind of guy he did not get his degree but no I thought that was interesting operators out there just another Doctor Thunder that saved a lot of Mountain Dew oh my god that's Mountain Holla Mountain Holla I could tell you some stories about some mountain holler. Anyway. Yeah, little operator talk there, though. I was thoroughly, I'll be interested to see how it holds up and whatever else. But it seemed like install, 10 out of 10, super simple, super easy, even an idiot like me could figure it out. That brand is the one that you get on a lot of, a lot of like the 777 games or whatever that we end up with always have that brand on. What's the brand that we usually stock? Pyramid? Pyramid. Yeah, that's what I thought. They're nice because they have a one-year warranty on all of it. The stacker is short enough that it shuts the door, and it comes with the plug you need and everything. It's not bad. And the price point is cheaper than a couple hundred dollars cheaper than Mars or whatever. It has to go all the way in the head. Well, that's from a different Stern cable. Stern, you can get – so basically Stern will – if you get a game from us or a dollar bill accepted from us, we'll throw the cable in for free. But I think other places – If you buy it from Pinball Life or Marcos, it's like a $30 cable. Yeah, we'll throw it in. It's a stupid amount of money. Makes no sense. No. And they used to originally, back in the day, they shipped with them. Correct. But it's like a ULI or whatever it is. UL, yeah. Where you don't have 110 at the door, shock hazard, whatever. Right. So they don't ship it with the shock hazard cable, I think. Disappointing. Yeah. But it's also, if you think about it, smart because what percentage of these now are going into homes where you're in every neighborhood. So it's like if that cable actually cost them $12 or whatever that number is, they're saving it on every game that they don't have. We'll have to look into that brand and see if they sell them with the ready-to-go cables. I think the cable, it looked pretty much like a factory-made cable. I was impressed. Yeah. I thought it was cool. A little operator talk. But, yeah, that Holy Moly then now has John Wick Premium Insider Connected. we pulled out Berrio's Barbecue Challenge, and I think the plan is possibly to take that down to Cincinnati here at the beginning of December and let the people shoot that baby. I was actually planning it today. I've been lacking some meats in my life. Some barbecued meats. Smoked meats. I'm just saying. Yeah. I'm just saying. Yeah, so they have that. They have Venom Premium, and they have Indian and Jones down there. They have a nice little trio. And they all have, like, all the toppers, the armor, the expression lights, all the extras. Yeah. They do. They do. So let's talk a little Pinsonati. That's coming up here about a month away now. First weekend in December. It's Cincinnati, Ohio. Tilt Amusements is going to be doing all of the Stern games, and then we're going to bring all of the other manufacturers and stuff. So I think the initial conversation here is from Turner Pinball, possibly to bring Merlin's Arcade. What is that? He looks like the Special Olympics kind of guy, I think. What, Turner or Pinball? We're talking about Merlin's Arcade. We were talking from Pinball Bros doing a little Alien Ripley edition. Possibly, yeah. Spooky, I think, was the one that we really hadn't locked down what we were going to bring yet because you were starting to roll them in and get them all ready for a potential gathering here at the beginning of 2026. Whatever is going to be available, I think, at the time, we'll take with us. And what else did we have? Harry Potter's on the list. Harry Potter Wizard Edition. I might bring the other one. Oh, the CE? It's been at quarter for a long time. I'm going to spoil these people. Yeah, why not? They won't know what to do. Let's talk about that. Maybe Challenger. Maybe Challenger. Flipper Football. I know the people want Puny Factory. Give them what they want. Give the people what they want. So we haven't been on here since PGX, have we? No, no. I don't think so. I don't think we talked PGX. Holy shit. We've done so much. So we had Punny Factory at PGX And they ran it In IFPA tournament Ball saved Yes So I don't know if it's a It's a hardware thing It's something mechanical There's been an accident at the Punny Factory Oh no there's been an accident At the Punny Factory Ball saved It worked out so that they each got to play Two balls and that was I think they just called it at the end. It worked out. Yeah, yeah. It's all good. Ball save. So we didn't talk about PGX at all. PGX was a very cool. Let's just touch on it briefly. We don't need to get too deep into it. Can we talk about the end first? The end. The PGX? Let me talk about one thing, and then we can talk about that. Is it the people on the floor arm wrestling? No, but we can talk about that too. Okay, go ahead. I'm sorry. I was just going to say, I just wanted to touch on how well curated the entire lineup was amazing i i just thought that they really you could tell how much thought and time was put into effort was put into the layout the layout the games like all the games that were grouped together made sense there was no duplicates and everything that came in like had to be at a certain standard yeah i was just very very very impressed with that from start to finish with the quality of the games the actual titles yeah all of that stuff i thought it was it was very well i mean Chef's kiss. Apparently people say now that we go to shows, I guess this is a thing we're doing. And I thought this was one of the better curated, laid out ones. The mics, as a mic myself. Honorary mic. Honorary mic, as they say. It was a very nicely done show. People were very, very confused. Oh my God. We had shirts. The running joke is that everyone in Pittsburgh is named Mike because we know at least eight mics in the arcade and pit bull scene that are named Mike's. In Pittsburgh alone. So Anna was nice enough to print for Corbin and I shirts that had the hello, my name is Mike text on them. So we tried to pull it off, too. You guys keep saying Shitsburg wrong. Sorry. I'm just letting you know. It's a mispronunciation. Yeah, okay. It's that Carrollton accent. It must be. So we're wearing them, and people are walking up to us, and we're introducing ourselves as our actual names, and they're like, but your shirt says. I was Mike. I was introducing myself as Mike. You were hyphenated. You were Corbin Mike. yeah it was jeff mike yeah there was a little confusion based around it but i just wanted to say i thought overall it was a very nice very curated show awesome show um serious traffic through there not the normal pinball crowd one of my biggest takeaways from that aspect of it was like so we had at the show uh we had the star wars fall of the empire le and we had the pro and this was like i mean we had to have one of the first le's out at that time like this was like a week after they had announced it or whatever and people did not just line up to play that every game was new to them like they were playing all the games equally which i thought was just like a really cool you know because i was definitely concerned going into it knowing the way that they were going to set everything up then like if there are lines for this new game we even kind of laid it out to try to help counteract that and they even with that back to the line if they had those two Star Wars and they had how many of the other Star Wars right there in that same Data East, Pinball 2000, Sega I mean they were all in the 2017 they had them all right there in that area grouped together which I thought was it was very well done people were loving it but I would put that show in the same vein as like MGC and Southern Fried to where it just a nerd convention you have cosplay you have retro consoles you have Pokemon cards you have all of those different things and it was definitely a good time Do you want to talk about your incident? My outburst? Your outburst. So most people know me as a pretty calm, reserved individual. I just think you're an asshole. Most people. Complete. Son of a bitch. Son of an asshole. It's the end of a long weekend. And, you know, a lot of hours had been put in, a lot of FaceTime. Yeah, but I know personally that you require X amount of sugar per hour. It's true. Yeah, I said fact. I'm agreeing. Go ahead. So it's the end. You know, social batteries are drained. Everybody's ready to get packed up and, you know, get on the road and get back on home. We had strategically parked our truck and trailer. out a side exit that other people, including the Red Bull tent, among others, were loading out of. So we're rolling. We roll a couple pinball machines out, and we're just killing it, no problems whatsoever. Then all of a sudden someone who was with the show announced to Corbin that pinball was not allowed to go out those doors. And I very politely said, I said, I don't understand what the risk is or what's going to show. if you break these doors, 75,000, I'm like, but the doors are propped open. And she's like, those doors aren't, I'm like, we're not coming out those doors. And she's like, well, you know, and so I'm just trying and I'm being very, very trying to be very reasonable. I'm just like, well, I'm just trying to understand. I'm like, everyone else is coming over. I'm like, we have it on a cart. We're being very careful. Like we were professionals. We do this pretty, pretty regularly. Like we're not going to hurt the doors. And you know, she's like, you can't do it. You can't do it or whatever. And so she tells us flat out then at that point, we're not supposed to roll any more pinballs through those doors. and so then we go back and we break a couple more down as they're rolling tables and so then as we start to go again we look over and everyone is rolling continuing to roll all kinds of bullshit through those doors everyone else is doing it and she's standing there working on whatever she's working on I guess I shouldn't even I don't want to get too specific with it but this person whatever whatever they're working on they watch nothing was said so Jeff and I look at each other and we're kind of like Jeff was like he was really like fucker we're doing it and i'm like all right so we just start rolling and she starts fucking flipping shit on us and i was getting ready to say something very sarcastic back to her but then jeff fucking flips out and i'm like i just start snickering i'm like holy fucking shit like i don't even have anything to say i'm like i i'm he's got me covered on this i was at the point where i was like yelled at somebody oh dude he he went back in he said some choice words and whatnot and i was just kind of like i was laughing and i'm like come on let's go dude come on jeff let's get out here so i made a big scene and slammed all the doors shut so everyone else got locked out i mean i've literally i went back in like i was like i was ready to be an asshole and then i'm like oh no he's got it covered so i'm just gonna i'm just gonna get him out of here because this is like he's he was the fuse head i've i've never seen something to say some something to somebody and jeff's like grab me up by my hoodie yeah he's like let's go to the car that's when i was like i felt like i know you can't do it i was the one doing that and then so we're outside and all the fucking cops on us that's the best part we're loading the last game that we'd gotten out those doors into the trailer we slipped one way out just after the red bull coolers and the fucking fucking food vendors and these red bull witches they they had left their flashers on for like three or four hours to the point where i'm like hey you're you're you might want to go shut the fuck out of the way anyway anyway wait wait and my back is turned to the tail of the trailer so i can't see anything that's going on behind me we're trying to figure out what i don't find a better spot now and corbin looks at me and he goes bitch called the cops and i'm like what i'm like actual cops and i turn around and the show runner for his day job is he's a pittsburgh police officer and at that point like it just cut all the tension and all the everything i couldn't even be mad at that point because it was just so hilarious because that's that's we we compliment each other nicely sometimes. But I definitely think it was the first time Corbin ever saw me kind of lose my cool. So, yeah. I have a long fuse, but once it's... Yeah, once you get down to it. She had it coming, though. I'm not trying to be mean, but... And I understand. And I was defending your honor. We got spanked a couple times after that. We got our... The mic spanked us. We got to the point where they just spanked us in the trailer. You guys want to take a turn? Damn, I wish I would have came. Only you would have known. But I would call PGX an unmitigated success A lot of good times Can we talk about that one game? Let's talk about it The monkey game Let's talk about it Monkey Ball Yeah, Super Monkey Ball Super Monkey Ball With the banana controller Dude, this thing was cool I was actually really good at it I feel like it happened before I feel like we've talked about this We've talked about the game But then they had that game there They had one there Oh fuck Tank's still here And he's awake Holy shit No, we talked about it before But they had one there And I got to play it I actually did. I mean, I didn't do that good realistically, but I didn't do bad. But had I previously done an adequate job of describing it so that when you played it, you're like, oh yeah, this makes sense. For sure, I was ready to go. It was pretty cool. I wouldn't mind finding one. I don't know what they... They probably cost like... We should ask Stefan. He'd know. They cost dollars. Dollars? Tens of hundreds of thousands. Who knows? What? That's a... What the fucking range? Tens of thousands? I don't know. I would pay up to like $2,500 for one of those. Oh, you could get it for less than that. Oh, 1800 then. Cool. Deal. But the highlight of the show for me was at one point Corbin indulged me and had me walk around with him and point out all of the old retro consoles. I literally walk around and had looked at them so many times. I'm like, I have no idea. But I'm like, I know Jeff knows about these. And so I'm like, I just wanted to be educated on it. It's very interesting. About halfway through. He knows a lot more. He's like snoring a little bit. He's like... Yeah, but I didn't know if the Sega Saturn. He's like... It was interesting, though. Like, and this one is a variant of that. And he's like, cool. Rare Japan only. It was interesting. Over on the vendor side, we never got to play the little disc spinning game thing either that you told me about. I really wanted to. But that guy kept circling the owner, and I didn't want to play with him again. No. He was so fucking good. He was. And then Pintel's played it, but I don't want to play with him. I mean, I want to play with them. Yeah. Not the owner, but. No. They were only there, like, it felt very brief. Dude, like, two hours. I don't think the kids were super interested That was another show though I just want to say circling back to Interacting with people on Rotation 8 That is one of my new favorite things to do With people Somebody's like This game's like a $45,000 game We weren't going to sell it but You found the price bro For $25,000 you can have it Well there was a guy who sat down around it 50% off Sunday Self-proclaimed pinball cocktail table Aficionado and he had never seen or played a rotation aid and his mind was on he was his mind was so blown that he came with us to bw3s that night oh that guy yeah yeah he was loving it that's true he had some cool stuff yeah he had like a caribbean Antonio Cruz he had all the weird uh pinball cocktail tables i'd like a caribbean Antonio Cruz yeah for like 200 hadn't someone told us was it him or someone else that they had those made essentially to put on like Antonio Cruz ships and hotel rooms and i remember having this conversation um scuttlebutt or whatever you called him um scuttlebutt mudflat yeah mudflat mudflat it was mudflat marshall yeah yeah he had said just literally ruined the nickname so now anyway he had said that these cocktail tables were in florida you find tons of cognitive tables in Florida because of... And Aerosmith Pro. Oh my God. We know that. But because of the Antonio Cruz ships. They had them on all the Antonio Cruz ships. That's right. The PGX, great time. Had a fun time. Buffalo Wild Wings every night. Except for the last night because it was too busy. And that was everyone. They didn't need it anymore. I'm just going to say it. Fate spoke. Then they tried to go Denny's. That got shut down. They ended up at Sheetz. MTOs. Mike didn't pull his weight at a texas roadhouse like we thought he would no he didn't he only worked there like 10 years ago and they've been closed for two hours i don't understand so they've really set the bar high i feel like for um next year for next year so i would say to be a part of it again hopefully they invite us back we are invited back even after my small little so i wasn't worried about that at all because they were they were apologizing to us about it so it sounds very similar to my smoking incident at Pin Brew last year. And that's why there's no more Pin Brew. That's the reason. Because whoever is working there is like, oh, you're smoking. It's coming in the doors. Oh, okay. Just wait. Just you wait. So should we talk about your champion son? Oh, well, we definitely need to talk about Pinball Olympics. So let's talk about some Pinball Olympics. it was a good time as normal i'm gonna go for you real quick so new events for sure um foosball so they had a big brave em to where you could plunge the ball like normal all of that but instead of using the flippers to keep the ball alive and score points they actually had a foosball guy on a bar just like you would normally have play foosball that then you would control keeping the ball alive and playing the game with the foosball guy the uh horsey righty one with the buttons that was on iron maiden to where basically it was a horse head on like a stick hobby horse hobby horse there you go hobby horse and if you wanted to use the left flipper button you had to then move the head of the horse all the way to the left and then hit the flipper button and and it had like flipper buttons in your hands like like pvc pipe i would only say with wires and stuff and then if you wanted to use the right hand flipper you had to then move the horse head all the way to that side and it was a far angle it wasn't like oh just a little bit back and forth no it was a full i mean whole 180 degrees essentially from one axes to the other and And what was crazy about it to me was I am not patient enough or a good enough pinball player to allow a lot of dead flipping to happen. But on that game, since it was such a huge range of motion, the amount of time it took to go from one side to the other almost forced you to do that. It did. A hundred percent. What else? So they had the slings weren't real tight. No. so then one of the other new ones that they had was they had an iron man that was hooked up to an elliptical machine so you had to be riding on the elliptical and then at the top flippers yeah at the top of the post or the handles of each one of the elliptical handles was a flipper button okay whatever but the flipper button in your right hand controlled the left flipper and the flipper trigger in your left hand controlled the right flipper. So not only are you having to keep the elliptical going the entire time, you also have reversed flippers. I wonder who joined that one. It was real tricky. So my son put up $22 million on that game. Hell of a game. He was pre-hecklers, though, right? Pre-hecklers, correct. Because I played it when the hecklers were on their taco break. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, so did I. Because we sat there and watched them heckling people, and it was like... Pretty intense. Oh yeah, you couldn't even try to focus while they were out there Because the next highest one They were pretty funny though They were good two years ago When like No Good Gophers Or something was Gladiators was out there They were on point Was this Merida's first? They were on point But then they had the Stationary bike Powering the EM again They had the Congo tent again I did not realize that the Congo tent was like no one else was supposed to go in while other people were playing I got yelled at also I just wandered in and the guy was like you're not supposed to be in there Zach and MB were in there it was you and me right? yeah it was you guys it's his brother we're just checking it out guys it's cool it was like a lion inside wasn't it? the best thing I saw on the heckler side was it was uh pinball jen and the hecklers are doing their thing and i think it was Ryan McQuaid's girlfriend which is jen's sister really yeah that's cool but whatever is they married ryan and jen's sister are married that's what i thought so i think they tied their you know pinball jen's playing and if you've ever seen her play like she's a it's pretty intense She's very animated. She's a very animated flailer or whatever. She gets full into it. Yeah. And it was like, her turn was done, and one of the hecklers said, so what's your name, autism? I was like, that is one of the best things I've heard all weekend. So I saw one of the events, new events that they had upstairs this year was basically they had a tripod with handcuffs that raised your hands above your head with triggers for the for the uh for the flippers and then as you were playing pinball there was a dominatrix who was whipping you and i was up there while pinball jen was playing and it was she very much enjoyed that i i would also like to enjoy it but i also have a bad rotator cuff yeah i was like I really want to do that, but I can't. Excuses. But Pinball Olympics, again, was a ton of fun. Corbin made it into the finals again for the treadmill challenge. That was different this year. I'll talk about it for a second. The flippers in ski poles. They were in the elliptical kind of deals instead of pole tractions. I don't think it was harsh enough. No, it was not. I think it was slower. I felt like it was slower. It was so much slower. I mean, I felt fine. I felt fine. We're all defending everybody. Defending Corbin. Let's defend him. Thanks, guys. I love you guys. It was just different. I'm not defending him. I feel like I was the crowd favorite still. I feel fine about it. And I just want to say, you know, I did what I could. Going into ball three, I had like 500,000 and Bro had 42 million. The guy had a fucking hell of a game. That's fine, dude. That's fine. The guy who won was literally looked like a cross-country runner. Like he ran for like three minutes and was not even like short of breath. It wasn't the running. I just had a shit game. They just went down on the outsides. My running was – I didn't – yeah. I felt like with the NBA – when I did the fast break one, the first time I did it. Indy 500? Indy 500. Indy 500, yeah. You know that game. Yes, and I also felt like on that one, like there were points in the game where I was like, man, I don't know if I can keep running. You know what I mean? You said you were booking, dude. I ran on that one too. I had to like consider like just like getting into something and jumping off. On Elvis, though, I did not ever consider, like, I was like, I'm going to keep, if I'm up here, like, I was fine to keep playing. It wasn't as, like, crazy. I think they throttled it down to, like, eight miles an hour. Which, I guess, in two years ago, I would say it was, like, 12 or 13 miles an hour. Yeah, it was fucking fast. That was a fucking full sprint. Oh, my God. That was a full sprint. That one chick face planted. Oh, my God. She was back this year. I didn't see her, dude. I didn't. But anyway, I mean, I'm very pleased with, I mean, I love Olympics. We're going again next year, of course. Oh, great time. I'll compete again next year. It's just a shit game. It was Elvis. Like, I just don't care about Elvis. I feel like I should have tried harder. But I'm okay with it. I'm good with it. I did my best. That's all you can do. That's all you can do, man. That's all you can do. There'll be an extra. So, yeah. Fuck yeah. Olympics. Such a good time. I'd like to think, I'd like to hope that we're like, even if maybe we don't get tickets or I think maybe we have an end at this point. At least I do. I don't know about you. I think so. Noren does. Noren does. We're going to ride on Noren's coattails. My son was super hyped about going. I literally rearranged my life at the end of the week for him to be able to do some stuff at school. She didn't get out there until Friday at 8, 9. Correct. It was like 8 o'clock. Yeah. So basically we went to Expo for a couple hours Friday night. He made me do all the business stuff. Business Corbin. I hailed. And then we went over to Olympics. I'm not even going to start on that. So the pass situation was such that I had bought Norn and I passes right when they opened them up because I wanted to make sure that we both had our weekend passes. And then as part of the HEXA stuff that we were doing, Corbin and I got additional passes. So I had two. One that I had bought and one as a vendor pass. So obviously I don't need two. So I gave Kyle my... because we slipped in whenever day we got in and i had my vendor one and then robin had given me one that said you know robin um what's his name rath rath and so then keith was wearing that one he walked at one point robin was like you're robin rath and he's like yeah what's up and he's like i'm robin rath you know keith keith's like no i'm robin rath and they like went back and forth on Robin was The real Robin Was so confused Of course he was He's like I gave this to Corbin How did you How did you end up with this Yeah But Kyle was me For all of Thursday And well basically The whole weekend So Everybody believed it too Yeah We introduced him To all kinds of people He met his future wife His future Ex-wife That's what I kept saying Future ex-wife Anyway Is Jen Quinary married Yes Is she Yes You're really making These connections For people easily Yeah right I think she is that's not who it was for anyways obviously but no Expo was a good time, Olympics was a good time Noren had an absolute blast I'm glad that it lived up to his expectations fucking pinball wizard it's one of those things though to where it's like you can be hyped about something and then you get there and it's like eh not really living up to my expectations but I think like the whole experience I would have a hard time ever meeting anyone who like had some kind of expectations about Olympics and got there and had anything but either what they expected or exceeded. But what if you signed up for the treadmill challenge and both times you hopped on the treadmill you faceplanted? I'm going to tell you what. Would that sour your experience? That chick looked jazzed up both times. She would have got on a third time. She would have hopped on a third time if they would have let her. She just needed another fucking shot. Give her another round. Let's keep it going. Just shoot her, bro. Listen to Kyle. But yeah, good times, good conversations, talked to a lot of fun people, a lot of games around rotation. The missing pin guys were very cool. We got to hang out with the spooky people a little bit more. You guys did. I missed them completely. Lame. Yeah, we did. We hung out with them. Kyle got to have some one-on-one time in the elevator for Gary Stern. Seven minutes in heaven or whatever they call it. I need to shout out the missing pin folks. He was real tired. Was he tuckered out? He was real tired. Sleepy Steve. They brought me like a six pack of Spotted Cow which I immediately passed on to you guys And then we share with French guys Right And then they brought me two four packs of different craft root beer which i already blown through and was amazing what the fuck man you think i only drink beer obviously well whenever we go to wisconsin orange juice all right breaking news i need breaking news sounder give me some volume hit the thing so i'm assuming most people who listen to this also listen to don's pinball podcast and if you do i'm sure you're already aware who's done don of don's pinball podcast we've met i think i think you know him he is doing a crazy midnight party for beetlejuice at the factory in benton wisconsin so i hope this is a spooky thing is it don thing so this is a don thing you know don works for spooky now so if you listen to his podcast yeah it is oh yeah this is real i'm just making i know it's real i didn't know if it was like full-on yeah it's public full-on public everybody knows what are you what the but listen to don and he's going to do a keyword for 20 people up to 20 people to be able to go to benton wisconsin on thursday november 13th and have the opportunity to put in deposit on the highly, highly sought after Beetlejuice. So if you know anything about Beetlejuice to this point, all distros are sold out on their spots. And we know nothing about it. We saw a picture of half the backlash. We saw a picture of a translate that we've seen a million times. First, we're going to be there. Right. That's the best thing about it. But listen to this podcast, get the keyword, and then 20 people will have an opportunity to go up there and preorder the game. What do you think the keyword's going to be? You got any guesses? banana wiener snitch bj bj the juice the juice the juice is loose the juice is loose but i think that's going to be a heck of a time it's a cool thing that they're going to be doing and then on the 14th spooky will have some direct sales that they'll be doing up on their website so if you've missed out to this point on being able to get in with just keep emailing jeff and asking him for BJs. Or me. Honestly, every time someone emails me or texts me about hey, I need a BJ, I'm like don't we all, brother? We do, bro. Don't we all? Corbin and Matt Pimble. Email me about BJs. That's fine. I told Corbin we need to start a 1-900 number. 1-900-NoMoreBJs. Sorry, folks. Can't help you. Don't worry, guys. But yeah, that'll be a heck of a time. Looking forward to that. I didn't realize it was going to be that kind of an exclusive party. So why are we gone? We're invited It should be a good time What kind of really shitty pizza do they have in Benton? So the last time that Corbin and I went We brought them pizza We had to get it We had to get it from like three towns over Because there were no pizza places in Benton And they knew that I've been looking for a career change And the pizza place Up there I had to give them like a $50 tip to get them to deliver to Benton because it was like 30 minutes away. It was a whole thing. I had to orchestrate. It was totally worth it. We should do that again one of these days. Oh, for sure. What if we brought Detroit-style to Benton? From Detroit. Yeah, fresh from Detroit. Stops on the way in. Stuff it down the hood to keep it warm. Fucking put it on the muffler. I need one of those DoorDash bags. That's what I need. Those are nice bags. Heavily insulated. Somebody was trick-or-treating with one of those. Okay. How many trick-or-treaters do you think you got? Let's talk about this a little bit. Because I think you saw a video of ours. I did. I live in an older neighborhood with a lot of older folks, so not a lot of families come through. So a good year for me is like eight to ten cars or groups come through. That's it? Dude, that's like less than five minutes for us. Yeah. That's what I'm saying. And I always put out a pinball machine in the garage or whatever. so this year I put out Star Wars Fall of the Empire L.E. Right? And I'm sitting there in between people because I have a lot of time in between people when only eight people show up and I see this Instagram story or reel or whatever from Tank and it looks like freaking chaos at Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in front of Corbin's house. They're like, kids everywhere People are stopping in the streets The cars are in the streets Four-wheelers. Zach's all horse-blocked. There's a horse a street over with one eye. I'm telling you. I went through. So you go to Costco. Of course. Did you get Costco bags of candy? I got the... How many bears this year? Yeah. You got one. The Haribo. Well, yeah, because for my eight people. So I got the two of the big chocolate favorites mix and one of the gummies mix. Fucking blew through that shit in like an hour, hour 15. Easy. Easy. And we're pretty strict with it. like you get one yeah move it along and then zach and marybeth brought like three or four bags yeah anna's mom brought some bags like some dum-dum sucker and they weren't dum-dums they were some off-brand stuff or whatever anyway um dude we went through all of it all of it was gone like there's maybe a little pile there's maybe like a dozen to 20 pieces left and it it it's it's insane they bust them in dude they bust them if you want to see like a true crazy trick-or-treat rush of people. Harder Heights. Tonya. And you even police them. You're like, what the hell are you supposed to be? You ain't wearing a costume, dude. Get out of here. This is your third time through, Chuck. Yeah. You get some repeats. It's a totally different game. It's a real problem. It is. That's why we do it every year. As I'm telling the kids, hey, just take a handful. And every once in a while, we'll be like, this kid's costume's cool. Just dump it in. Just hook him up. Next kid, you're like, one piece. Move it along. I just only give out beans. Beans? Are they magic beans? Refried. No, they're just refried. One scoop. Mary Beth was trying to give out scoops of chili. She's like, you want chili or candy? Sidebar on magic beans. So how about the guy who is the over the river and through the woods pinball delivery is talking about getting a pinball machine rental. Yes. So in the back and forth emails, I always like to include Corbin because he doesn't get enough emails already. So I make sure that I include him in these things. You know what the fun thing is? He thinks I don't read them, but I read all of them. It's Corbin. I know. So I'm negotiating with this gentleman a pinball machine rental or two. My favorite is when I get emails that Jeff doesn't get. Every once in a while, we'll get one, and he gets so fired up. Anyway. And I specifically call out, like, hey, here is the rate of the pinball machine. but it must include an introduction to the fainting goats and he replies back and completely glosses over the introduction of the fainting goats you think i'm not noticing this he called me about that but yeah but yes sometimes corbin gets emails that i don't get about very important it's happened twice like both times it was like executive level you would have thought there is weekly basis is where i get stuff like new game announcements and stuff where i'm not included And I'm like, eh, you know. Jeff, though, oh, they rearranged the structure of the management, and he wants to know about it. It's important to me. There are things that HR and I need to talk about that are involved in these restructurings. Very important things. Are very important things. They have science meetings. Yes, all the meetings. But, yeah, that's my sidebar on the magic beans. If this guy thinks he's getting a pinball rental down there and I'm not getting to have some time with the fainting goats. That's reasonable. We have to have our line I'm all for that If this line in the sand is When we do Pinsonati Let's try to get some Good food or something I feel like in PGX That pizza wasn't bad The bar was fine That was interesting Everywhere we go Wherever we sit down The person nearest Corbin just wants to be his best friend Have you seen him? He's so adorable And that's why people say he's intimidating and like, look at me, what are you talking about? In a bar setting, people are good. They gravitate, man, I'm telling you. You find out some interesting stuff. No. Let's find something good to eat. Email. You look like a person if I annoy enough, you'll give me $5. Corbin. Don't worry about your beer, dude. Where should they email some food suggestions for us for Cincinnati? Freshpinball at gmail.com Thank you, Zach. So are we doing like a booth where you have to like hang out? I mean, it'll be like PGX to where there'll be a table with our stuff, but we'll come and go as we please. I'm going to print off a Venmo thing this time. Do you want to go up to Dayton again? That was a good time. The Canal Street? Because we need to go to Dayton to see the new pins, too. Okay. We can do that. That comic book shop was cool that we went to. Comics to Games in Florence, Kentucky. Yeah. I'll take you to see all the sites. I'll take care of you like I do. Canal Street, man. That's the place to be. I think they have really good sandwiches, too. Oh, my God. I will say, my favorite thing about Expo is we were sitting there watching them play. You guys were playing Monster League Hockey. I was going to say, we need to talk about homebrews here. Let's finish up here with homebrews, and then we'll do final thoughts. Does that sound good? Monster League Hockey. Yes. And Monsters, Inc. Jake Danzig. And you guys are playing. Take the doll. What are you doing, dude? He's so giggly right now. Is there any shit over there? You never let me try that beer. Did you finish it? I'm doing it. You okay? What are you doing? Taking a Z. Oh. Oh. I could totally see. We couldn't see Z from here. Like, what are you doing? Juice and dust. Monster League Hockey. You guys were playing Monster League Hockey. Which is a versus pinball machine home group. I have thoughts on this game. Yes. And they said, hey, we're going to do a quick photo shoot, whatever. And we kind of back off. and it's Zach Corbin and me and there's two people sitting there like I think it was Don I think it was Don and Bug and Don and Bug and Morgan and they say oh you guys are the fresh pinball guys oh no the Australian the Australian people because I was Jeff I thought you were going to say about me getting in the back of their picture I thought that's what you were going to say I bombed a lot of pictures this weekend that's not uncommon for you those guys got... I told you about this, right? I know, I remember this, yeah. He got so mad. But shout out to the Australian people. That was super cool. It was nice to hear from people who actually listened to us. We're sorry. It's weird. You should probably do something better with these guys. I would love to talk to them and figure out, communicate with them more. And then also, the Loser Kids podcast, is that who Dan was super in with? He's super in with so many people. But yeah, I think so. I like Dan. Dan's great. I like Dan. Dan loves Kyle. We should get Dan on the podcast. I think that we could make that happen. You know what I love about Dan? The cooks have invited us over. Okay, the girls are going to go do whatever. I'm going to go take a nap. The cooks have invited us over to their lair. Yeah, because they just added like Jared and Lindsay just renovated an area of their house and pool table. It's laid out. I've seen some pictures. It looks like a good time. I like them. We can go hang out. Oh, for sure. Always a good time. Yeah. So what else? Check out my haircut. Yeah. What are some of your takeaways from the homebrew area, Zach? Anything that spoke to you? Monsters, Inc. I thought was very cool. Yes. Yeah. It played very nice. It almost felt like a production game. I think just the overall concept of the homebrew has come so far, even in the past five years. Like homebrew kits I saw, there's so many companies out there today to help you make a homebrew. I feel like it's making it a lot easier for the average guy. I may misspeak here if I do correct me, but I think it's Trident Pinball. Ernie Silverberg is big into this to where he can get playfields made and kits and whatever else, and he is huge into that. he was the driving force behind that um huge hercules-esque type game the mothership one mothership which did you play oh norm played that yeah the air power the air power clippers was very cool everything was these huge 3d printed pieces it was very cool it was a lot of fun the game over there that i played that i and that i thought was very very cool was it was like a high speed type game setup but then it had the um road blasters steering wheel on it and you could then use like your nitro or your fire buttons on it to fire your flippers and stuff i thought that thing was freaking cool definitely mad max one looked awesome the tony hawk one was there again tony hawk's always cool changes to it just so many cool things what about the Big Trouble in Little China. That was very cool. That one I didn't get to get on. There was such a long line. I didn't play either. I watched other people play and checked it out, but I did not get to play that one. It looked very well put together. It was just such a cool team effort where it's like you have Brian Allen Art doing this, you have Electric Playground Topper here, you have Homebrew stuff over here. It was like everybody kind of just contributed their own piece to it to make it a really freaking cool game. Yeah, very cool indeed. It's just impressive. of the... How much more approachable it is, though. Yeah, because I know when we went three years ago, it was like, oh, okay, on this back wall with no sort of fanfare, no sort of anything. Oh, no, just a corner. There are these games that people built that they brought. It was almost an afterthought. So then last year, it was a real booth to this year to where it was almost a focal point of the show. The whole section, yeah. With Mark sitting in the middle of it. It was really well done. Jack Danger had a couple little It was a little baby game with 15 spinners or whatever. Oh, Norn was loving the heck out of that thing. And, like, it kept going on repeat. Every time it went back into the scoop, it would kick it back out to go again. I'm like, hey, dude, like, you could just sit here all day and do this. Like, your game never ends. Why don't you play Bad Girls? Yeah. Right? Let's go play something else. I'm playing that Wipeout. It's pretty fun, actually. Oh, I love those quirky Gottlieb ones. That's what I really want to get, those Cactus Jacks. Is there any movement on that? It's happening. It'll happen before the end of 2025. That's my goal. Really? I have two things left to do this year. That's one of them. CGC. Let me know where I need to wire money. My number one thing that I had to get done already happened. So thanks Stern. Appreciate you. Um, but yeah, let's, let's, uh, let's do some final thoughts here. Uh, Kyle, any final thoughts here to wrap up the show, buddy? Oh, it just, uh, it was a great weekend for everybody I love seeing everybody having a good time it was a lot, it was overwhelming but garage beers with Corbin is always my favorite thank you to everyone that stopped us or anyone and just said hi it's such a weird thing to wear especially for Corbin, Kyle and I in the sense of when we went for the first time and we were just completely undercover I appreciate anyone that thinks that I'm Corbin or Jeff that's great the gorilla days they really were where I was just throwing t-shirts everywhere hoping that somebody would pick it up and wear it and now we show up to these things and there are people wearing mad pinball gear I see them everywhere I'm like oh I know who that person is so talking about that one of us sent you that picture one day we were in traffic in the village and someone just had a random mad pinball sticker on the bumper of their car and I'm like I have no idea who this person is as we went around them that's the point isn't it That's the whole point of this. Getting it to the people. Pinball to the people. No, no, it was just a good time at Expo and Pinball Olympics, and can't wait to see what next year it brings. Get out there and play some pinball. Yeah, play some pins. It is the season. It is pinball season. I just want to say briefly, like, our experience with Chris Turner, talking to him a bit about his app and everything, like seeing some of that stuff coming, like there's a lot of cool stuff coming. That is very I'm almost blown on that So I'm excited to see what else he has coming And to see the future with that Yeah, Raza Get excited I mean my final thoughts Piggyback on what Corbin had to say It's just crazy I think we really truly are in a golden age of pinball Right now in terms of the level of manufacturers That we have The diversity of manufacturers Or the level of money that it fucking costs you To access these games I mean, but 10, 12 or 15. Yes and no. But also you have people out there like Corbin who are crazy and you don't have to have that kind of money to enjoy these games. You can come and enjoy them a dollar at a time. If you're in Northeast Ohio, I guarantee you will have every weird one. But there are people similar to you all across the United States. Absolutely. Absolutely. That are out there putting Alice in Wonderland out there. They're putting Turner pinball games out there. They're putting all of these weird left of center things And that's why these manufacturers Are now getting the foothold that they are And we gotta keep doing it Gotta keep it growing Get out there and play some games Don't just get out there and play games Get out there and take a friend Take somebody with you that isn't a pinball freak Make a friend and then take them Yeah I mean Let's just keep growing Bring a friend leave a friend Leave a friend I'll pick him up We'll talk about pinball Let's have a guest on soon That's what I think we should do soon Yeah I'd love to talk to Tom Cicchetti on here I'd love to talk to Dan the Man I'd love to talk to The guy I'd love to talk to the guy who built our Whitewater I'd love to do a deep dive Into What made him think that was a great idea It was a good idea It's beautiful There are so many people I'd love to talk to That's what I should do My final thought here Kyle before you play us out is bring a friend into pinball someone that you think that could be that could get the bug next because the only way that this maintains and keeps going is if we keep growing so bring a friend our music balls delicious if you email the word balls to jeff at madpinball.com we'll send you a shirt fuck yes we will alright everybody thanks for listening if you need a pinball machine or any accessories, you should email corbin, C-O-R-B-I-N at madpinball.com If you're in the Pittsburgh area, email mike, M-I-K-E at madpinball.com Let's email Mike. Mike doesn't get emails. I don't. I get some emails, but I think Mike might get less, so we should give him some love. Good night, everybody. Bye. Bye. That's too damn bad. Thank you.

technology_signal: Stern pinball DBA installations using 12-volt door-mounted configuration from coin door interface board, simpler than traditional 110V head-mounted approach

medium · Detailed technical discussion of DBA cable routing: '12 volts and they were actually coming off of the coin door interface board... super convenient... a lot shorter run'
