All get around, he's on the rebound, hear the sound of our buddy, oh lordy, it's Orby, pinball now to rejoice, he's tugging pinball, craft beer and coffee, mixed with syrup and honey, he hopes to laugh with his family in a random tangent, stories of his boys, he's on the poor man's pod network, we're gonna get more listeners, for the Pinball Nerds Podcast. Coming to you from beautiful River Hibbert, Nova Scotia. Welcome back, Pinball Nerds, to episode 531 of your fifth favorite pinball podcast. My name's Orbital Albert, and on today's show, I cannot believe it. after months of hard work, Jack Danger himself finally agreed to come back on the Pinball Nerds podcast for his first interview with me since Pinberg. I couldn't be more shocked to introduce to you the one, the only, the man himself, Mr. Jack Danger of Deadflip as well as Stern Pinball, the man who hosted the International World Ski Ball Championships, Jack Danger. Welcome to the show, Jack. Jack, are you there? Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait. That is how I was going to introduce him. Sorry, I'm just practicing, guys. I'm a little bit nervous. I do have my big interview coming up, hopefully sooner rather than later, but I don't know when it's going to be. okay I was teasing you guys a little bit there but I'm not I'm not lying I'm being honest I was able to secure or I'm getting very close to securing the Jack Danger now that Jack Danger's gone from dead flip of course he just announced that last week on Facebook now that he's gone from social media I'm not going to say that I want to interview him even more like I couldn't want to interview him any more than I already do. But now that we can talk about him moving on from Deadflip, which I think it makes sense that he's chosen to spend more time with his family and friends, and a little bit more time. It sounds like not really friends, but primarily he's chosen to spend more time with his family, which is great. He's got two young daughters. He's got a wife at home, of course. But I do have to thank Emily Anderson, of course, back there a couple episodes ago. I think like number 527, I think she was three episodes ago, right here on the Poor Man's Pinball Network. Basically, I told Emily on the show, you know, if you ever get the chance to meet Jack, you should try to get him on the show. And thank God, she went up to good old Chi-Town, and she spoke with Jack Danger, oh, sorry, in Madison, Wisconsin. So it was in Wisconsin, but it was, yeah. Okay, not Illinois. So anyways, this is a message that I got a few days ago from good old Emily Anderson. And she says, hey, I'm here in Madison, Wisconsin, and I have Jack Danger agreeing to do your podcast, but with one up on the shower beer. So I said I want him to call in and talk to me and do an interview while he's doing a shower. because as we all know, Jack Danger loves to do all of his social media updates, any type of podcasts or interview questions that he gets. He does it all from the shower in the morning just because he's so busy. Now, maybe with him not being on dead flip anymore, he might just choose to do regular social media or interviews while not in the shower and go back to it. Jack, go enjoy your showers, and you will enjoy it when you call me. But Emily says here, Jack Danger agreeing to do your podcast, but with my one up on the shower beer, dot, dot, dot. I must locate him some pickle beer. Reach out to your people and let's do this. OK, so then I was like, OK, he's agreeing to do it. But first she has to get him a pickle beer. I was like, OK, well, yeah, that's we'll find him a pickle beer, Emily. And then I went on to read here. She says, we just need to send a six-pack to Stern. And I said, hell, I would send him a 12-pack to get him on the show. Jack, I'd send you a frickin' two-four, okay, bud? I'd get you a two-four of three Floyds, what is it, Return of the Dead? I don't know what it is, whatever their triple stout. They have a day up there at, I think it's Three Floyds, at one of the really awesome breweries over there. And I tried for years to get tickets to go to the Day of the Dark Lord. That's what it was. It's when they release their Dark Lord, their quadruple, if not like, I don't know, it's either a triple or quadruple Imperial Stout. It's probably one of the best-ranked Imperial Stouts in the world. And you have to get tickets for it, and you stand in line. Jack, I would give you a 2-4 of Heady Topper the revolutionary IPA from Heady Topper is from the Alchemist I believe anyways, I would give you the best craft beer on the planet, it could be made of gold, my gold member, and I would still give it to you Jack for coming on the show so after I wrote, hell I would send Jack a 12 pack to get him on the show I said thanks so much Emily, you rock I said the shower beer ups the game so not only are we going to get to have a beer together not only is he going to be in the shower but he's going to have a shower beer while being interviewed on the Pimble Nerds podcast I couldn't be more stoked for this Emily wrote here and then she took a picture to prove it to me thank you Emily for that one Emily looks so stoked here and Jack is just excited I think to be part of this he said he's in Just send them to Stern and address them to him, and he's in. And she says, this is our agreement photo just for you, Albert. Okay, she didn't say Albert. She didn't say Albert. She said just for you, and then she put some emotes. But anyways, so I couldn't be more stoked. Emily Anderson, you are now my newest pin turn. I know you didn't agree to be a pin turn, but she pin turned it up. I've had pin turns agree to pin turn for me that have pin turned less than this. And she just killed it. She just killed it. She secured the interview. you know, Mr. Jack, or sorry, Mr. Jack Danger. Mr. Glenn the Skateboarder himself tried at TPS, wasn't able to secure it. I've had a couple other people come up there with their lasers. Their lasers were focused at Mr. Jack Danger. Pew, pew, pew, pew. And they're up there shooting their lasers, trying to secure it. I guess it wouldn't be lasers. It'd be whatever, like, Batman used in his show with the hook. Or, like, the big netting. You know when the netting goes over you? Emily's netting was better. I don't know. Maybe it's because she just worked harder at it. Maybe because just Jack Danger was in a better mood. Maybe she even bought him a beer or two to grease up the wheels and get him into it. But Jack Danger, I'm excited to send you off the six pack. When I first originally read it, I thought that I had to get the pickle beer. So what I was going to do is just print a really cool Jack Danger, this pickle beer is for you. and I was going to put like a pickle Rick thing on there. And then there was the Rick and Morty stuff. And I'm like, wait, maybe not. So no pickle Rick on there, but I will put a cool picture of a pickle and I'm going to get a custom printed label. And with that custom printed label, what I'm going to do is I'm going to wrap it around just some shitty can of, well, not shitty can. I'll get them like, just like a, I'm not going to like kill a really expensive bottle of beer for that, But I'm going to get one, you know, like the small can and make sure that the label fits it perfectly. And I'm going to label it Pickle Beer because, Jack Danger, I have looked and looked and looked. And I even checked. There is one brewery that we have in Newfoundland here. It's, believe it or not, it's in Dildo. Dildo, Newfoundland, spelled just like the toy, the adult toy. um so and i believe that the uh jimmy jimmy kimmel has an honorary after mentioning dildo so many times uh on his late show jimmy kimmel actually got a key to the city so he's like an honorary mayor when he shows up in dildo newfoundland but anyways i even checked checked on the dildo website because i had heard in the past they had some crazy beers and they don't even have a pickle beer. So other than me like fermenting my own beer and my hops are not ready. My hops are growing. My tallest hops are about two and a half, three feet tall by now. I've actually got to go restring them up in the garden later on today. Very excited to do that. But what I was saying is that there's no way I can make beer for Jack until like July or maybe late or mid August, early August. Some of the hops will be ready and then I could do a fresh hop. And my son actually has a, as many of you know a pickle line owens dills would give you thrills which are the only dill pickles that are allowed to be served at mega melt which is owens new uh you know new fun little project that he's done he's already expanded to two um two locations for his gourmet grill cheesery and i actually ran the location tatamagush in the grain elevator right behind the farmer's market and i had my very first like i've served coffee lots over the last few years i've served tea i've even handed people or better yet used tongs to put you know a baked good that Danielle or I made into you know like to give them to them but I haven't had people in line making me cook them food and watching them and it's just really weird when you're like making a grilled cheese for someone and they're like watching your every move and you know you got to have the gloves on and then you got to make sure you don't touch your face once you have the glove I'm not used to all of this and then at one point I was making grilled cheese and someone else wanted me to make a bagel and I forgot the bagel had popped so I had to re-put it back down but then it was too crunchy and then so I had to redo the bagel and the bagel took forever and then they're staring at you while you're putting the cream cheese on and while I'm putting the cream cheese on it's like the the the stupid plastic butter knife I have is breaking in half because the cream cheese just came out of the fridge but you can't not leave it on the fridge because of health inspections it's a whole thing and then I'm like I'm trying to remember to keep uh you know hot water ready for the tea while having two different types of coffee and you going back and forth and you always trying to mark which coffee you currently brewing because we only have one coffee maker there So anyways to everybody or anyone that saw me scrambling around like a chicken with my head cut off I felt like I was working at good old Tim Hortons or Starbucks, I guess, for the Americans. I felt like I was 18 and working at some type of fast food restaurant because people were yelling at me. And this woman was just like, this coffee doesn't taste very good. and I literally said nothing and I took a toonie, which we charged $2.50 there. We're trying to keep it a little bit cheaper. We're trying to stay more in line with the other cafe that's in the farmer's market. So I literally took out a toonie and the $0.50, the $2.50 she just gave me for her coffee. And I said, here you go, no problem. She goes, oh, no, no, no, no, it's not that bad. And I said, well, I apologize. Like I think what happened was there was no medium roast. And so she said, okay, fine, I can take a dark roast. I just think a lot of people who have never had like gourmet coffee before and they've only had like NACAF or NABOB or whatever the cheapest like, you know, 35 cents per cup, even though you can get ours down to about 40 cents per cup. So it's not that much more, but they just have never had it. So when they taste like a real dark roast from two single origin roasted coffees, you know, they don't they aren't really ready for it. And she was just like, oh, it's, you know, too much or I don't know. That doesn't that's not what coffee tastes like. so anyways I had my first shift I did fine I won't say I like killed it because I probably like burnt a couple bagels and I probably maybe possibly undercooked a couple uh grilled cheeses maybe just slightly because I was so worried about overcooking them but I will tell you this chef's freaking kiss that's me the chef I was just kissing myself just getting just warming up for later on today that's all okay but I'm telling you right here the chef himself I had to give myself a kiss there because my favorite one that I made and all the bacon was pre-cooked so it didn't matter if that was the bacon is already pre-done so it doesn't matter that way and the cheese if it's not quite as melty as the next one it's not the end of the world you know what I mean like I can't make anyone sick from doing it but a couple times they were a little undercooked and I just said yeah I'll make you a new one sorry about that and I ate it myself including the one time a guy ordered our Mega Melt with double bacon. The make-a-melt with bacon already has bacon, but he ordered extra bacon. So he had not two, but four slices of bacon on there. All the bacon is made the night before by Orby and Drop Target Danielle on our grill here at home. And because we're selling it at a farmer's market, we're within whatever the rules of the food, whatever. And when we make it here at home, we add our own maple syrup to the bacon that, of course, is harvested by me and produced by myself. And, man, it takes the best bacon out of all Tatamagouche from Dexter's Bakery and Butcher Shop, and it just amps it up that much more by having what I think is some of the best maple syrup this side of Nova Scotia, this side of New Brunswick, this is the best maple syrup this side of Quebec City. anyways it was incredible and unfortunately I burnt the one side a little so I just I ate it myself and of course the Mega Melt comes with Gouda as well as medium cheddar and it's phenomenal but if you do happen to be in the Nova Scotia area come visit me or maybe don't maybe don't visit me from about 10am to 1pm because then I get slammed and I have a long line up and I'm running around like a chicken with my head cut off but the good news is we profited lots of money As far as the pinball front goes, I'm actually still trying to get a pinball machine. If you're listening to this and you live anywhere on the east coast of Canada, or in fact anywhere in Canada or the world, and you're ready to ship for a reasonable price, although Foo Fighters Pro is top on the list, from what I understand, it would be many months, if not longer, for me to actually get my hands on one because there is zero in stock at the one distributor in Canada that I would... well, the only dealer I'm most likely willing to deal with. And then on top of that, from what I understand, it turns out to be with shipping even to the nearest airport here, I'm looking at around $12,000 Canadian. So I've been looking around on the used market, and I found, and I shouldn't really be telling anybody, because I don't want someone to buy it out from under me, but I found a Guardians of the Galaxy Pro with only 2,000 plays on it for $9,500, made in July of 2021. So I'm thinking about reaching out and seeing if that's still available and buying that because I love Foo Fighters. Jack Danger, you know I love Foo Fighters. I'm 100% buying a Foo Fighters Pro. And although I do have access to more funds than before, I'm still half Dutch. I still can't spend an extra... I do think that Foo Fighters... I'm sorry, John Borg, if you're listening. I don't think you listen, but if you do, I'm sorry. I do think that Foo Fighters is a better pen and will go down as a better pen than Guardians of the Galaxy. But from a family standpoint, I love Foo Fighters. Drop Target Danielle likes Foo Fighters, has never bought a Foo Fighter album, never been to a Foo Fighters concert, but she likes them. I know she had some downloaded back in the day. She didn't buy the album or the CD like me or go to the show. She didn't read Dave Grohl's autobiography like I did from last year, which is incredible. but she still loves Foo Fighters. However, our entire family, like my sons don't really know who Foo Fighters are. They recognized three or four of the songs when I went through it, but they don't necessarily love Foo Fighters. But my son Owen's very favorite movie of all time or his favorite franchise is Guardians of the Galaxy. He hasn't quite seen number three yet because they don't have it at the local movie theater. So Guardians of the Galaxy being available for me just a short hour away from my house. also if I go look at the pin because it's been up for sale for so long I could maybe offer nine which would mean especially with me having to rent a U-Haul and drive to Halifax and back to get the other pin probably the other pin is going to cost somewhere around twelve and a half thousand dollars and then of course it's a new pin so you got to pay taxes so sorry I thought it was around 12 with the taxes but twelve and a half with it delivered there's probably some other fees I'm not thinking about hell it could be closer to 13,000 Canadian no not American but for $4,000 less, if I can get a Guardians of the Galaxy and be left with, like, I'm trying to think to myself, would I rather a Foo Fighters Pro sitting lonely in Orbeez Arcade, because that's the maximum I'm comfortable spending this year on pinball, or do I spend nine grand or maybe nine and a half on getting a Guardians of the Galaxy Pro, which I won't like as much as Foo Fighters, but that would leave me another three to four grand to go get, like, I don't know, probably not like Flash Gordon, because I've already owned that, but maybe Hot Doggin', Wink Wink Nudge Nudge, Dylan there in Fredericton, or some other pin between, you know, three to four grand. Do you know what I mean? So I would really prefer to have, like, either a solid state or even, like, I don't know about an EM, but I'd rather either have, like, I'd rather even have a home edition. You know what I mean? Like, I love Jack Danger's Jurassic Park home edition. I think it'd be really cool one day to have all Jack Danger's pins in there, so that would be one of them I would need. Now, that being said, if I ever did want to start putting pins on location, which I'm considering at this point, that one doesn't have a coin door, so that would have to be installed, and that all has to be thought about. But I did see, now they're willing to ship, they are in the States, but I did see a comic edition of Star Wars, which all of you know how much I love comics and also Star Wars, so a comics edition for I think it was around three and a half but I can't remember if that was American or Canadian and then I think it was extra to ship but so I could potentially maybe even get a Stern home edition pin plus a Guardians of the Galaxy or like a you know a mid mid 80s to maybe early 90s pin for three and a half to four and a half grand as well so that I could have like I like the idea of having minimum two pins in my arcade to start as opposed to just one. A, quite often when I'm playing pinball, one of the boys will want to come in and play as well. Or even Danielle from time to time. And B, if we're having a tournament, the least number of pins I like to have so we can do match play. So you can at least, I know it seems dumb doing a match play, but like I don't mean a tournament with tons of people like from the Fundy Flippers and stuff. I mean just like a home tournament with just my boys and myself. and Tom MacArthur if you're listening to this podcast please the tournament director for New Brunswick please please please please I'll sponsor the Fundy Flippers I don't know if you're looking for sponsorships I don't know if it's allowed but please can you have tournaments on Sundays I work till 1 30pm every single Saturday until November until after Halloween I will not qualify for the New Brunswick Provincial Championships if I can't play in any of the tournaments because they seem to all be on Saturdays. And it doesn't make sense for me to be begging and pleading because whatever day is convenient for most of the pinball nerds is the day they should probably have it. But from what I understand, during the summertime, it's very, very, very hard to get people out to go play at the Fundy Flippers League because everyone gets busy. I promise you, without a word of doubt, that if, Tom, you switch it over to Sundays, please, please, please, just for the summer, If you do that, I will try my hardest to bring all four family members out that way just to help get the numbers up. Because I know at the last one, just last weekend, shout out to everyone who was there. I forget, did Rod win? Rod Beaton? I can't remember who won. But shout out to everyone who made it down to St. John this Saturday. I, of course, was doing my first week opening the new cafe, so I couldn't be there. But even with me cleaning up as quickly as I can, doing my loaded dishes, getting everything put away, getting rid of the graded comics. After I do everything else at the Collectibles Cafe, I can't get out of there until at least quarter after two. It takes me another half an hour to get back to Pugwash to pick up Danielle and Owen from their market that they run the cafe there at the Pugwash Farmer's Market. And then it takes me another hour just to get back home. So we're talking like, you know, I don't even get home till 3.45. So even if they were to change the pinball tournaments to start at three in New Brunswick, I still couldn't make it. So for the love of God, please, Tom, and the other Fundy members, please, from what I've talked to many members from Fundy, most of them can make it on Sundays. So please consider changing it to Sundays. Don't do it for me. Don do it for the sponsorships Don do it for my boys my family anything else like that Do it for the Fundy Flippers members because there a far far far better chance that if I can come with at least three of my family members if not four that we're either adding 20 to maybe even 30, possibly 40% more people, which means we get more Whoppers for everybody. So there you go. Plus, honestly, I've only won one tournament in the four years I've been out here on the East Coast, even though they weren't running for a good two years of that. But I've only won one tournament out here, so there's a very low chance of me winning. And I think Hayden has only got second in two tournaments. So there's a very low chance Danielle's probably not going to start winning tournaments tomorrow, even though I hope she does. And Owen, I know Owen's going to have his breakout win soon, but we very rarely win, but we do come there. I'm ranked fairly high. I think I'm still in the top 6,000, so I'm one of the higher people ranked on the East Coast when I come. It helps the algorithm to feed us more Whoppers. And who's not hungry for Whoppers? Speaking of Whoppers, there was the big championship in Europe, the ECP or the EGP, this weekend. I do happen to know who won, but because it's bright and early and the tournament is just finishing up, I don't really want to talk about it. But congratulations to the person who won. They've won before. You would know their name if I said it. But I do know that there are some people that are still catching up on watching it, including possibly on this show. so I don't want to give too many spoilers. I might talk about that later, but I do plan on having another interview this week. I'm very, very, very excited for that interview. What else do I have to say? Not really too much, I guess. I just want to thank everybody. Again, in case you missed it, thank you to absolutely every person, especially including, I mean, the two standout people that I can think of. I guess the three standout people would be Tim the Lion Man Lee, who's ordered from me several times. Drew, of course, of the Poor Men's Pinball Podcast. Where's Drew and Ian? They haven't had an episode in like a month and a half. I'm missing those guys. Get out here. You've got to do at least monthly, guys. You should try, but, you know, fuck it. They can do an episode whenever they want, but whenever it is they do an episode, I will listen. I'm their biggest fan. In fact, I was missing Drew and Ian so much, I went back and listened to their old episode. And that's saying something because I love dad jokes, but on one of, was it their last episode or the one before that? I can't remember now, but one of the most recent episodes. It's been so long, guys. It's on you guys that I can't remember. Their dad joke. They use the alarm you hear the snooze button for. And that was driving me nuts. But I just missed Drew and Ian so much I went back and listened to them again. And I don't want to speak for all the members of the tribe, but I'm pretty sure that we all want to hear more on Drew and Ian. I would do less podcasts on here, especially if there was, you know, okay, I probably would just stay at my regular rhythm. But we all want to hear more from Drew and Ian. So let's hear from it. it's been a while here that we I think it's been like three weeks since we've had a tribe multiball it's been like at least two months since we've heard from the Ray Ray show now I know I'm sure Raymond Davidson's extremely busy I know there's a lot of show pinball shows going on right now I'm sure he's extremely busy with Stern the release of Foo Fighters but it's been and then it's been months since we've heard from well it's been months since we've had a tribe multiball with Tim the Lion Man Lee because the last one was with Rachel Rachel and Dan the man and speaking of the third person I have to thank for ordering probably my my biggest fan during this whole time would be Dan the man and Drew put in that giant order that got held by customs Drew please tell me you're drinking the coffee um I know I'm sure you drink coffee Drew you probably wouldn't order that much but please I mean like our family goes through a bag a week so I know you did start with 30 bags but it's been about 10 weeks since you got it now so you probably should have gone through about a third of your coffee. The good news is it is sealed. It is going to stay fresh for at least, it depends who you ask, eight months to 12 months, but it's obviously better fresher, you know, so it hasn't been ground or anything. So it's not like, you know, as soon as you grind it, that's from when we really start counting down when you'd want to use it, right? But anyways, guys, I had a fun time on this episode. I wanted to, speaking of the coffee I have not done the sales pitch for coffee in many shows I hope you guys have noticed a couple people said I was doing too much talking about coffee so I'm looking at the uh good old audacity right now I'm at 25 minutes and 30 seconds precisely I'm gonna give my one self one minute I've had not one but two people now in the last month message me and say now that you're not selling coffee do I have to wait to get it from Drew at Expo which hopefully he's bringing it to expo um and i said no i'm not talking about like you can still buy coffee from me you can still go to angry alpaca on facebook and click on the shop now button it'll bring it bring into our square space store we actually do have a decent amount of stuff in the online store right now so you can still go buy stuff i know we have our sentient beast which has been selling really well some have called it the best decaf coffee on the planet the a lot of times you get decaf and it's not a We blended a medium roast and a dark roast to kind of put it halfway there between, but it has tons of flavor. And I swear to you, as a former Girl Guide, Girl Scout, Girl Guide, as a former, I got kicked out of Cubs, Freighton Brownies. I think that that's a, you're not allowed to tell that joke anymore. I apologize. I'm sorry. My stepdad said that all the time. So as soon as I mentioned, but blame it on Ian. Don't blame it on me. but I've got lost in the sauce again and I just really want to thank everybody who's purchased the coffee if you'd like to support me or the show go ahead and go over there and purchase some and if not don't worry about it but I will say this for the next I'll say day and a half I guess it'll be just a little over day and a half until June well wait how many days are in May okay until June 1st for the next day and a half If I do get any orders, I'm going to give the 100% of the money from the orders, I'm going to be donating it to my friend Paul McGee. And I do have to mention something, sadly. Paul McGee is a gentleman here that I've had the pleasure of playing a few pinball tournaments with, but more importantly, I've met him and talked to him several times at Chocolate Lake Arcade, as well as possibly at Propeller Arcade in Halifax. and unfortunately I'm not sure of how many of you, especially Americans or people in Europe or Australia, New Zealand, that sort of thing, probably have no clue but right now Canada has experienced a very large number of wildfires. It's been extremely dry here. It's been extremely dry. It's been very hot. For spring we normally get a lot of rain. I think we've had two rains in the past three months here, other than a slight mist or something like that. So unfortunately, Paul McGee, just two days ago on May 28th, who many of you in the Halifax Pinball League, and I'm sure some of you from even the Fundy Flippers know, unfortunately he was asked to evacuate. And as they were leaving, they realized they had forgot very many important documents. I'm assuming like passports, you know, birth certificates, social insurance numbers, health cards, all those things you shouldn't have on you on a day-to-day basis. in case you were to lose your wallet or something like everything basically other than your driver's license and maybe your credit cards apparently they remembered that basically all of it was at home and because they were in such a rush to get out because the fires were coming so quickly they forgot it at home and they turned around before they got to the point where the police were and they went back to try to go get everything and as they were in the house they could smell smoke very strongly and they started to see flames come up and over um come up and over their house so anyways i am going to be donating uh specifically any of the coffee sales including yes even the cost of shipping which i'm going to eat uh any coffee sales that i do get between now and midnight on May 31st, I'm going to be donating 100% of that to the GoFundMe for Paul's family because unfortunately they found out yesterday morning after they left that their entire house was burned down to the ground. So Paul, I'm very, very, very sorry for you and your family and your losses. There is a lot of heroes that are being talked about that came out from this, including I know that a woman who owns a pet daycare was told by the police she couldn't get back to her house to save the 18 dogs. They were only sending buses in to save people. There's over 6,000 hectares right now, which are not far from Halifax. So it's really sad. It's really serious. You know, there's usually a couple of wildfires here each year, just like there is in the States, especially a lot of the places in the States. And I know Australia, you guys had a record wildfire year. look I'm not going to I've been drama free and political free since episode 493 so I'm not going to necessarily say this is due to climate change but they have not had a fire here of 6,000 hectares in a very very long time and they certainly haven't had a fire this big this early in the year as far as I know in May ever so anyways if you guys would like to help out Paul McGee and his family and you'd prefer to donate directly, I know that if you... I'm trying to think of how to get there non-directly. Send me a DM and I'll send you the link. But if not, if you have Paul McGee, if you're a friend of his, you probably have him on Facebook, and you can just donate directly through there. And if you're wanting to help out, I believe there's now 16,000 Nova Scotians are displaced and probably a lot of them lost their houses. So if you would like to donate just overall to help out here, you can donate through the RedCross.ca, and that money will actually just go to help out, obviously, everybody in Canada that's dealing with that, not just the people in Nova Scotia, but it helps out with family reunification, emergency lodging, reception and information, emergency food, and emergency clothing. So that money directly can help out some people not only here in Nova Scotia, but also in, believe it or not, the Northwest Territories, one of the coldest provinces or territories in all of Canada, and that, they're having severe wildfires there. And then of course, Alberta's having severe wildfires. So if you guys would like to donate directly to Rand Paulin the GoFundMe you can do it that way If you would like to get something in return you can certainly buy some coffee But if not please just stay safe Everybody out there you know, you never know what tomorrow is going to bring. I mean, Paul was just in his house two days ago, enjoying a nice day. Huge pinball nerd, loves to go out and play on location lots. I don't know if Paul has any pinballs. I hope he didn't have any pinball machines at his house that were unfortunately leveled and I'm assuming Paul does have insurance so he should be fine so anyways I'm sorry to end this on kind of a negative I'm trying I'm not trying to be a negative Nancy or Debbie Downer here but this is one of our own pinball nerds he was the very first person to greet me and tell me kind of all about the east coast pinball scene when I was down there at chocolate lake he was the very first person I ever talked to and met there and I added him to Facebook and since then I've had the pleasure of playing with him and chatting with him a couple times. He's an incredible player, very good nudger, but even more importantly, just extremely consistent with accuracy. And Paul, I'm just so sorry to hear that you guys are going through that, and I'm trying to, in my own little way, help out by donating these coffee sales. Sorry this went down sort of a dark route at the end, but that's just how it is. Anyways, Pinball Nerds, I love you. I'm in love with you. I am so, so sorry that Jack Danger's dead flip is leaving. Many of you know I had the pleasure of getting to interview him at Pemberg, and that was probably the highlight of my podcasting career so far, if you could call it a career? Side hustle? Hobby? I don't know. Certainly something that is a highlight. Another highlight, I'm going to insert a mini top five here just to leave you with something positive, because that's what I want to do. The second time that the very first time that I ever, so my favorite memory ever with Jack Danger would be getting to record with him as we are rudely interrupted by Jeff Teolis, who's trying to like get ready for A Division Finals and tests all the speakers out on A Division Finals at Pembroke on the stage. I guess I picked a poor place to interview Mr. Danger, but Jack, I love you. That was so cool. Probably my second favorite memory of Jack is I was doing a live stream, which cost me like $140 Canadian in internet and cell phone overage fees because I could not join the Wi-Fi there at Pemberg. And I was doing a live stream and I was walking around doing a live stream. I had like six or seven people watching me live. And Jack Danger was doing like his fifth live stream of the day for like an hour live in between the, I think the day one and day two. And he had like hundreds of viewers in his chat. And at that time, I was in Jack Danger's dead flip chat like four or five days a week. So everyone in chat knew me, of course. And Jack Danger ran into me and it was like we were crossing the streams. And he was on his live stream and I was on his. And he stopped and looked at my chat and talked to mine for a little. And I said hi to his chat briefly. And then we just kept going on our ways. And I remember a couple days later when I got back home to Canada, I looked it up and I thought it was so funny. You ran into me and I think I was with, I think Nick Greenan was doing the walk around with me. thanks Nick for doing that with me and hanging out with me. And I end up going for like a 45 minute live stream. I ran into Crystal Gemnick. I ran into, I think we saw Elwynn over there far on the other side playing Jurassic Park shortly after Jurassic Park. Of course, the very first time we got to play that was at the final Pemberg. And so that would be my second favorite Jack Danger moment. My third favorite Jack Danger moment was actually getting to buy him. He mentioned like a week or two later on the live stream that, please, if you're going to buy him a beer, don't get him a sour. He likes IPAs and everything else, and he loves craft beer, but he's not a huge fan of sours. And, of course, the server who I was chatting with, this was, I believe, at the Pinball Degenerates. Yes, Joe Chervino had up the Pinball Degenerates after party, which was after the second or third day of Pinberg. I don't remember. I just remember being exhausted. So I got to go there, and of course, Mr. Jack Danger himself showed up there, and the server had told me, oh my god, people are ranting and raving, this is like the top, like, you know, in around Philadelphia, this is the top sour brewery, and they're just like, people love it, and it's like a dry hop sour, it's incredible. and I got it and I don't remember what it tastes like but I remember I was like this is through the freaking roof and Jack Danger walks in I said how's it going my man I was you know chatting about my day and he was like I can't believe you made A division dude I think he made B division but he did he did injure his thumb at that pinball because believe me Jack Danger is a hell of a lot better pinball player than I I was just lucky enough he got injured and I somehow played shit lucky that day and anyways I ended up buying him this he goes well I said well what type of beard do you normally like? He goes, anything, anything craft, man. So I got him a, I grabbed him a, you know, this sour beer and he drank it with a smile on his face the whole time and said it was incredible. But I found out later he didn't like sour beer. So I'm sorry, Jack, that you had to guzzle it down and pretend like you loved it. But you know what? It was a dry hopped one. So there's a little bit IPA feel there. My third favorite, that was my third favorite. My fourth favorite, I would say, would probably getting to hang out with Jack at the Dead Flip after party, where I got to do a shot with him and Keith Ellen. Like, literally, I think Kate Martin was at the bar with us, but there was literally four of us all kind of hanging out together chatting for, although it wasn't a long period of time, and other people were coming up and talking to him and stuff, but I felt like I got a good solid, like, two or three minutes where we all did a shot together, and then we were all chatting, and then Jack Danger actually left to go hang out with some people, and then Kate left, and then, lo and behold, it was just myself and Ellen at the bar, and that was like the most nervous I've ever been in my life was just sitting there talking to Keith Elwin at the bar. In my head it went on for like five minutes, but it was probably like 30 seconds that we chatted. But anyways, we chatted about Iron Maiden and a couple other things, of course. I told him how much I loved Jurassic Park and that I was hoping Jurassic Park would be my first new in box, which, hey, it still could be, even though... That's what I was going to say. I am looking for Guardians, but if I could find used at a reasonable price a Jurassic Park, a Guardians of the Galaxy, which that one I'm really looking into, an Avengers AIQ. I don't love the theme for Maiden, so I probably wouldn't be looking into that one. Deadpool, right? So you guys know how much of a comic book nerd I am. If I was able to get Avengers, Deadpool, or Guardians of the Galaxy at a decent price, even like for some reason, somehow, if there was like the lowest end version of the Beatles, was at a fair price, like it was down at like eight and a half to nine. I think I would strongly consider that because of how much I love the Beatles, but I mean the game. I do like the band too, but I love, love, love the game. And Franchi's artwork on it? Double chef's kiss. Quadruple. I would call it a French chef's kiss almost. So what else do I got for you guys? Oh, my fifth favorite time hanging out with Jack Danger? I don't know. I don't remember. Oh, probably would be Ladder stream and for those of you who aren't huge into dead flip you probably don't know about ladder stream but one time jack had had i would say a few too many beers and he was kind of dancing around and goofing around and he was just probably too drunk to play much pinball anymore i mean he probably could have but he was kind of sick of it i think it was if i if i am correct this was at the end of like a six or seven hour stream and i had been drinking the the same time like hanging out with him in the stream for most of the chat and eventually he started dancing with a ladder i don't know if someone in chat like dared him and said hey you're dancing around by yourself why don't you grab the ladder as your partner and he was actually doing these like cool like like spins with the ladder and then like going up on the ladder and then like bending the ladder over as if it was his dancing partner now I was a little luck fuck luck suck doy as they say okay I was a little uh I was more than two sheets to the wind I was probably like 420 sheets to the wind on that particular day so I was pretty wrecked but I do remember he danced with the ladder for what seemed like quite a bit of time and I was like wow I'll never forget this stream and then like a month later or something in chat I was like Jack you should have another beer you might get drunk enough for ladder stream he's like ladder stream and then I think he kind of remembered as the chat was reminding him he was like let's not talk about ladder stream a lot anymore and then like a year and a half later I was drunk one night I was you know there wasn't that many people in chat like by not that many I mean like 150 which is kind of his average right but and I said something about, oh, I guess now that you're moving to a new studio or something, are we going to see Ladder Stream again? He was like, Ladder Stream? We don't talk of Ladder Stream. It's almost like Fight Club. But no, it's not that bad. I don't think Jack's going to not come on the show now because I mentioned it. Mind you, if someone has a video or even a short clip of Ladder Stream, if you could send that to pinballnerds at gmail.com, I would appreciate it because that would be cool to see. But I'm sure that it's long gone. anyways he didn't do anything like embarrassing per se he didn't say anything rude he didn't slander anyone he wasn't you know he didn't puke on a brand new stern pinball machine or anything like that just it was funny because he was dancing with a ladder and who knows he could have been tricking us all maybe he was just drinking apple juice and it looked like beer I don't know maybe he was a sober sally I don't know but what I do know is Jack Danger you will be missed and I know you're still going to do live streams from time to time and I do hope from time to time now that he does a live stream, I'll work harder. Like, had Jack Danger told us like a month ago, like, hey, I'm only going to do one more month of regular live streaming, I think a lot more of us would have tuned in, right? And I feel bad because I would only pop in for maybe half an hour, 20 minutes and chat here or there. I don't watch as many pinball live streams. Almost 100% of the pinball live streams I do watch are at pinball tournaments. So anyways, pinball nerds, I've got to go use the little boy's room and then I have a lot of work to do outside, like a lot of work, like getting my old John Deere lawn tractor going again so I can cut the lawn because the weeds are looking a little high. I really would like to cut by June 1st, but got to get the lawnmower going to do that. What else do I have going? Not that much. Pinball nerds, you rock. I love you. I'm in love with you. If you don't get an episode by the end of this week, I'm hoping to come at you by this weekend or the start of next week with an interview I'm really excited for. No, it won't be Jack Danger's because I still got to send him that six pack of beer, which Jack Danger, don't worry. It's going to be in the air mail soon. All right, pinball nerds, thanks so much for listening. And until next time, say it with me. Remember to eat, sleep, and breathe Jack Danger's Dead Flip Pinball. Or be out.
