Sentiment

neutral(0.55)— Hosts are respectful toward FIFA Soccer 10's quality but not passionate about it personally. Mixed user review discussion (10/10 vs. 1/10 scores) and acknowledgment of their own lack of soccer interest creates neutral stance. Lighthearted, informal tone with jokes about Adobe Clippy and dodgeball keeps mood positive despite lack of enthusiasm for the game itself.

oh boy yeah you know what we don't need adobe we don't need assistance i don't remember paper clippy remember the paper clip well that's everything has that now except it just shoves it in your face yeah anyway hi welcome this is of course we suck at video games big show 19 my name is malin with me as always the lovely and talented craft brew sally there you go and uh yeah i'm trying to like get my notes together for the show and i'm just getting assaulted with the adobe things like hey i can help you with that pdf and i'll be like no i'm good with the pdf i I know how to read letters usually. I know how to do it. Clippy or... AI version of Clippy. Stupid jerk. And now my phone is listening. So Google is telling Adobe that I'm talking smack about its mama. So now there'll be a picture of Clippy on your Facebook. Yeah. No, you want to buy this Clippy t-shirt. That's going to be on Facebook. And then Adobe is going to stop working because it's going to be mad at me. okay everyone let's take it back a notch anyway so this is the show that we talk about we review wii games we had a tough one this week but we're not going to get into that just yet um trying to think of what we acquired it's been a slow slow go for getting games it has been i don't know that we've gotten anything since well we got a mario versus donkey kong and we only played that once but we might we might have even had that's not for the wii though oh we talk whatever yeah that was for the switch i have one lined up on on facebook now this one might come true and it's a talk about it next time oh John Youssi crap bruce sally is all about the rules we'll see oh you can talk about it if you want to i will talk about this though i you remember the deal that went fell apart there's like six games and this person up in green bay has six games that we don't have i think we have one of them and i'm like oh my god that's a rarity yeah you know and they're five bucks each and this is the one where i set it up and i woke up suddenly i was like okay i'm coming up and i didn't hear anything like oh my husband didn't want me like after the fact her husband didn't want her to meet up on a sunday or something i was like oh my god i was i just rage quit that entire right those got relisted and i'm and i'm almost like i'm gonna try and get you to reach out and say hey i want because see if this goes better oh my god it's like what my husband's gonna pick these up for me whoopsie doodle those aren't for sale anymore look put them on put them in the mailbox right i don't care do a do a porch pickup like a lot of people do here you don't have to look at me or talk to me right nothing just give me the damn games. I was like, oh, you gotta be kidding me. Right. So we'll see how that goes. Maybe reach out to her and see. Maybe on your day off you can run up to Green Bay. Yeah. I can't go. I can't go to Green Bay without a driver. No kidding. The craft through Sally is letting it on. So all right. So what are we reviewing this week? This week we are reviewing the Wii version of FIFA Soccer 10 from EA Sports. Wow. It has a little flashy. It has that hologram sticker that all the EA Madden games on. Which means it's really going to carry a lot of value because they made a million of them. Two million. Twenty billion. A billion. Thirteen trillion games is what they made of this. Because anytime you go to a nickel bin, it's nothing but Madden games. You're like, oh my. So that's what we're doing this. When was this released? It was released on... This was released on October 20th, 2009. October 20th, 2009. Okay. Set the stage. Right. What was going on in our worlds in 10 We didn have any exchange students Oh that the worst Right So what was the top song So I had Three by Britney Spears I didn't hear of any of each of them, not one, two, or three. I thought it would be fun because this, fun fact, this was the fastest selling sports game at the time in Europe. It sold like 1.7 million, I think, the second they released it. so i was like you know what i'm gonna what was the top song in europe that day and it was down by jay scene jay son jay sean i don't know sure jay sean featuring lil wayne never heard of that either you have heard of lil wayne i whatever yeah what was the top movie of that time i had law abiding citizen which i've never heard of i have okay and i have up which was weird because Up released here like three years earlier. Also, now that I look at it, the top song was down and the top movie was Up. Huh. Yeah. Interesting. That's kind of a fun fact. Make up your mind, Europe. What are you doing, man? It was interesting when you said about Up and I was like, that's weird that it would be the number one movie in Europe but not in the U.S. And when I looked it up, it was released like six months earlier in the U.S. It's weird. They do weird stuff with that. Right. So no fun facts then other than that, I guess. All right. What do we have in store? Let's talk about, now we have no history with this game whatsoever. In fact, we have no history with soccer. Well, I do. I watched my niece and nephew in a soccer tournament one weekend, and I did yell like a soccer mom. That hurts my head. So, all right. I'm going to read the back of the box just so we can set the stage. darle al FIFA 10 un giugolo. Oh wait, no wait. Let's FIFA 10. All new action-packed arcade-style gameplay. I was reading the other side. See, it's a multi-lingual. Anything not American has more than one language because they speak more than one language. We're the only... Not going to finish that sentence. Okay, I don't want to hate mail about how... Okay, so all new action-packed arcade-style gameplay featuring designed specifically for the Wii. Manage your favorite team in Battle for Glory, a completely redesigned manager mode exclusive for the Wii, featuring all new art style with 30 leagues and more than 570 teams and 1,250 players from around the world. Take on family and friends and compare head-to-head performances in real life. FIFA.EASports.com So, that is a lot that is uh now this is um we've already said that we have no history with this game correct yes so right off the bat um we said at the top of the hour well you have extensive experience with soccer i have no experience with other compared to you yes i put this in it and it right off the bat i was like this is really robust and the graphics are nice and that and it played well. The controls are great and there was a lot of choices. And I was like, I'm not reviewing this game. I mean, I'm going to talk about this game, but I'm not giving it a review because this is obviously one of the best sports games in the universe. Right. And it's obviously one of the best selling and one of the best received games in the universe. Yes. So to listen to someone who doesn't like that sport talk about it is kind of... Dumb. Headache inducing. Yes. You know. So... Yeah. Yeah. We were, you know, and as I played it, I really honestly was like, okay, I know some of these names, not the name of the players, I don't know any, especially from 2009. Right. You know. But I like, okay, you know, you can pick the country, you can pick this, everything. And it was really, like, it was a pretty game. And it flowed really smooth, way smoother than I thought it was going to. That was the one thing I did notice when I was playing it. Like, the controls were, not perfect, but very good. Yeah. You know. nothing's perfect, you know, from the Wii and the PS1 and the PS2. So it was just one of those things where I was like wow I wasting everyone time talking about this game So we going to just kind of go into the Metacritic Now, Metacritic has it scored higher for other systems. But for the Wii, it rounded out to a 7.5 out of 10. Some had it as high as like 10 out of 10. Some, not IGN, but some of those like reviewing places really, really love this game. you know and i can see why yeah if i guarantee that there's people that wait for fifa soccer the same way people wait for madden to come out every year and then like they're the best in in the like world and they can't wait for the new one and they just stay up for three months straight playing fifa so yay for that i do always like to see get a mixed review see what some of the users are saying so i found one that is a 10 out of 10 from anthony spelled with an i 76 now this was on october 24th 2023 so perfect brah all right so v-r-u-h yes yes so perfect brah so yes anthony i think many people agree with you brah now let's see oh i'm gonna this one's read more oh this guy has a lot to say i'll try and get through it oscar seven and this was february 21st 2022 so these are two like kind of newer reviews uh this game is unplayable passes keep going in directions i wasn't aiming shots kept going to to the moon even with no power on them team wouldn't defend and would lose the ball if they got within five feet of a closer player they would they would even run into themselves and fall over players refuse to do the skill moves and there's okay uh i've gotten more fun out of older and newer older and newer titles and both have had better controls the difficulty compared to this hot garbage i skipped a whole bunch because as you can tell i might have oversold my being able to read english at the beginning of the when I was lipping off to Clippy here. I was like, I know how to read English. Apparently, I don't. So, I mean, we're going to finally wrap up and kind of say, this is a short show, I guess, but we're going to wrap up and kind of say, if you like soccer, try it. Because I didn't agree so much with Hot Garbage Man 98 or whatever that was. I don't know. I'm not sure about So Perfect Bra either. I have a feeling it's probably an 8 or a 9. Yeah, I mean, if you're into soccer, this was probably a really great game for you. I do think culturally, now we're older, I'm not going to say it. I think culturally, soccer is more in tune with the youth of America now, right? Yeah, I think so. Like people play soccer. I think it's more readily available for kids to play now. Like when we were in high school, there wasn't soccer. No. In middle school, they were like, okay, we can either play soccer or run around with that parachute. And we always chose the parachute. Right. Who wouldn't choose a parachute? But I think we played kickball or dodgeball. Oh, we played dodgeball, all right. Yeah. There's nothing like that sound of that dodgeball coming at you when it whacks you in the side of the face. And just for fun, I used to always play super dodgeball in the NES just to make sure I was keeping my dodgeball skills up in case a rogue dodgeball game broke out somewhere. But I think it's newer for the kids. Like kids now play it. Yeah. And there's like leaves and there's a lot of stuff. Yeah, my niece and nephew have been playing soccer for probably five years. Being more of a stout nature, running around in a field nonstop is not really what I would call a good time. Right. Even at the peak of my physical. You are correct. Even at the peak of my physical being as a teen or whatever, not a big runner. You know, I didn't do that very much. So I like things with motors more than running. so there you have it we are going to do something different for the next show we both have hit a low when we were picking these games like this one here kind of took the wind out of our sails right I was staring at it and we were staring at it and talking about it we going to play it you like we should really play that game I don want to play that game because I knew I couldn and wouldn And we shouldn We probably should have redrawn But I felt like that was bad. Yep. So this is going to be a different thing. We're not going to do the random drawing just this next show. This is going to be treat yourself week. Yes. We're going to each pick one that we really want to play for whatever reason. I might pick one that I want to play because I think it's going to be the worst thing ever. Oh, this is going to be so hard and so fun. Yes, that's what I mean. With my penchant for B-movies and whatnot, I love pain. So the worse, the better sometimes. Sometimes it's so bad. Exactly. So you never know. But I might just want to play something fun. We're going to go and pick out two games that we're going to play. So next week is going to be a doubleheader to make up for how short this show has been. Right. So stay tuned, folks. We will be right back with our choices for next show. And we're back. So for fun, we did keep it a secret from each other, though. So what have you chosen, Crafter Sally? I have chosen Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10. Wow. It's PGA Tour 10, Tiger Woods. And this was, I thought you were going to do Lynx Crossbow. I thought I was going to, too. And I was like, I walked over there. I was like, hmm. I have, after looking at those, I was like, there was about 20 I wanted to pick right now. Right. I know. I haven't played this one for a while, and I chose Guilty Gear XX Accent Core. Guilty Gear is an incredible fighting game, and we'll see what they have to offer. So there you have a golf game for crap brutality and a straight up Guilty Gear fighting game for the Wii. Now, I do have a, well, we'll talk about our history with it next week. Anything else before we go? Do you want to give out our, what other shows do we have going on? So we have the Pinball Project. No. No. The Pinball Junk Drawer. We have that. I often confuse this with the Project Pinball. Don't. I always do. Okay. So why not mention projectpinball.org? Yeah. Project Pinball.org is a 501c that puts pinball machines into children's hospitals, sets them on free. Go check out. They have lots of raffles going on right now and lots of good stuff. So really good stuff. So check out Project Pinball.org. We don't have anything to do with that other than we always give that information out. And because they're awesome. Yes, they are. And we have Project Pinball Junk Drawer. We are the Pinball Junk Drawer. The Pinball Junk Drawer. I should have to write that 100 times. No, don't do that. No. And then what's our other thing? So we have this one and we also have on radiosaintpete.com. We do two hour-long shows. It's the Indie Circuit and Saki Bamagogo. Yes. That's some talky talk with lots of music. Yes. Lots of screamy music. Yes, lots of screamy music. And we have a B-movie review show from a long time ago called Slow Robot-a-Go-Go. So if you like B-movies that I talked about, how painful I enjoy, go check that out. slowrobotagogo.wordpress.com there's a searchable episodes list and guides and oh my god you will be surprised how many bad movies I have watched thousands how painful it is and how can people reach us I'm going to put the link to our email in the show notes but how would somebody write to us this is a long one we should just start using the jd at gmail.com that might be easier but whatever we can keep them both we suck at video games at gmail.com there you go and it's not we it's wi obviously so anything else before we wrap this show up no all right i'm anxious to play tiger woods golf yes you are thanks for listening everyone and uh if anyone has an austin powers pinball machine hit us up for sale for cheap cheaper sale yes anyway we're done thanks for listening everyone this has been we suck at video games big show 19 that's it man game over man game over
