was in i had a half hour gap today which i ran out very quickly to go get starbucks got done at 5 30 left to go to the gym about halfway there with my kid i kind of got shaky and i'm like nope not not doing that gotta go make dinner a friend of mine oh you guys jazabelle's uh uh is not feeling well so uh i picked up jezebel's kid we did dinner back at my place but before i could get back to my place um i got a work call and production was down at my job which is government stuff and there was a lot of people freaking out so got pulled back into that about eight o'clock finally uh got to go drop off uh jezebel's kid made it back here to put my kid to bed and finish just a few minutes before yet another work meeting that ended right about 10 o'clock so roughly about 30 minutes ago and uh and then i've totally spaced that i'm one camera on a dmd i'm one camera down so i had a bunch of fun stream stuff to try and get done in roughly about 15-20 minutes so that was that was my day in a nutshell i don't know if anybody else has had a similar uh just like minute after minute everything is book style a day my day was nothing like that okay what was your day like uh i was it was just the opposite there's nothing happening at all i did get uh an email recently from the local news station though they're gonna do an interview with us tomorrow because someone tipped them off to our bells and chimes league that's awesome that is really cool so uh sorry you said it was a radio station or a news station a news channel yeah okay that's super freaking cool what news channel how do we tune in when do we tune in what day does it go do you have info i have no info at all they're just doing the interview tomorrow and they're probably going to hear the piece the next day or the next few days or something okay save you that's awesome congratulations and uh and you said this was for bells and chimes do you have like a standard thing you guys do when it comes to to bells and chimes that uh or is it something specific meaning like is this in in response to uh like a recent event or something like that no i guess just someone tipped them off that we're a welcoming pinball group that has strong ties you know with mainly you know the female uh population and the lgbtq plus population et cetera so they're uh yeah they're gonna do a little piece on so that's cool i hope you know that gets the word out and more people get interested and uh join us is freaking cool and you guys have do you guys have it's like in oh wow that was a great start do you guys have like individual city chapters or is there one overarching website that kind of manages being a part of bells and chimes so um i thought schneider i believe her name was um she started it years and years and years ago it was like 2007 or something um in oakland and i guess it got moved over to i think tracy lindberg i think is taking charge of the group now because i guess that hasn't been updated in a long time um but there's chapters all over the world there's okay four chapters in texas so the houston chapter started which caused lauren to start hers in san antonio which caused me to start mine in austin which uh caused um i think pricker started the dallas one um so there's there's a crap ton right right there's a ton of individuals are they centrally managed meaning you go to one place and it tells you then all the different locations and chapters or or are they all there's a directory somewhere that exists yeah okay um but we all pretty much like kind of privately run we just kind of share the name or you know those other people that share similar kind of group titles okay well that is freaking cool congratulations oh thank you yeah i don't know who the heck tip kept them off the because like we haven't really done a whole lot of stuff lately because of like covet and everything um and like when we first started right before covid we we had some some interest and a newspaper and another tv station reach out to us but then covet happened right i know well uh while rolling again i guess pun intended so it on that note i'm assuming leagues are starting back up again have things been slower than for the bells and chimes because i i just got back into my first league other places like san antonio is always poppin um but they have like a really cool place that has their machines work in order and it's like a safe place to play and etc etc um right now we've played a place that it's a cool place it's just having a lot of pinball machines um trying to get the cider cage to get back to me um about holding another league night there trying to do like twice a month okay i think doing it too often right now with people's schedules and whatever i don't think we're gonna get as many people doing that so it's all a work in progress here like starting right before covet i think kind of stunted our growth right yeah hopefully this will get more people interested and keep uh and and keep the the number of people joining going back up that's awesome yeah this is the same person right no this is just social social anxiety being masked george this is okay wait i don't know you just struck me as a person who didn't who didn't care about any of that but completely understood right yeah yeah totally um so i was going to get this about me tonight we're going to talk about toilet paper right oh wait no no it was a great start because what cool news is that um but catching back up on chat chaotic asked about the color dmd do you prefer the lcd or led um for me i don't i don't really notice a difference like if you go lcd you can put it back into led mode and give it the the like it's backwards compatible in my mind i'm sure to someone who's seen them side by side there might be a preference um i do like the look usually of the the smoothed out screen which is what it's currently set to right now is that smoothed out kind of uh graphics on it i do do either do any of you guys have opinions on the color dmd lcd versus led no i'll take it or leave it oh as if anyone were to throw a pinball machine at me you know i'm not gonna be like you know what this doesn't have the lcd screen so got it okay i mean i like the old i think i prefer the led but that's only for nostalgia's sake really wow okay led got it i i can understand why it definitely had moments and just the kind of the the stupidity of the technology and how they decided to solve things but to know that it's like it it's it's yeah okay cool you're right it's uh it's not a talking about right there well i was going to say because they have those like pokemon cards that you can make for your pets and you put their picture on it you can choose the background etcetera etcetera i just saw that really recently and i thought that was like a cute little idea oh that's scary he's seen that before no i mean i guess i could put my daughter on a pokemon card though i think sorry if i if i interrupted there oh no not at all i did see that uh meta knightman asked how the new game is uh because they're on the fence uh i will say i'm a big fan of the classic pokemon gameplay but the changes that they made here are huge lateral moves that make this a fun different kind of game um there's a stealth element where you sneak up on pokemon and and whack them with the balls uh that i really enjoy and they totally read the pokedex so that you have to do research tasks by like having pokemon attack with certain moves or go certain places to do certain things um to fill out the pokedex and that's a huge kind of gameplay extender for me i'm enjoying that a lot awesome so i have never tried nor gotten into pokemon but it has become i mean it already was really popular but it's something i know my kid is interested in what where if i was oh wow if i was gonna get into pokemon with my kid and try and find a good starting point is there is there a solid beginner beginner for kids kind of spot if you both have a nintendo switch um you could get uh they usually put the games out in pairs like sword and shield right and the person who i sword can catch different pokemon than the person who has shield and you can trade across with each other and so that's a really good thing to do with your kid um and unfortunately when my kid got uh pearl and i got diamond i didn't have time to play pearl very much but when we had sword and shield we got those at a time where we both could uh you know sit down and play that together and that was really good okay and when you say trading what exactly are you are you trading the pokemon themselves yes it's short for pocket monsters and so let's say that you had something in your pocket that happened to be a monster and you wanted a different monster from yeah that seems like sorry uh tracy you were saying no no no no i was just gonna say that this is like a pg-13 stream right pocket i actually didn't make it there at all in my head until until you said that well welcome to the gutter george nice to have you yes welcome to the gutter i like that man i'm just i'm just so jazzed to not be working right now like they're i don't know very very odd mode right now i'm just like i don't have to worry about production servers anymore things were things were looking pretty pretty down there for a minute wait did you leave your job or are you on sabbatical or what's up no no no it was it was just it was just uh an interesting late night uh we're happy to be done with work i guess yes just for today but tomorrow is another day oh yeah no no it ended the the the end result of work today was let's let's reevaluate what we need to do tomorrow to handle these performance issues for a product that we're not responsible for maintaining are you gonna get your kid into pokemon george well she is really liking animal crossing right now um so i think i'm i think i'm i think i'm there at the at the stage where we can move past um the untitled goose game which is great it's an awesome game but also it's a tad too simplistic for for me to enjoy um i'm looking for a little bit more and who knows maybe it's pokemon uh okay and i'm still catching up on some of the on some of the chat there i've never actually seen someone play pinball with a multiball so this looks really interesting oh hey sundon things let's go into another multiball let's let's do the thing so george have you played any of the like classic japanese role-playing games like final fantasy or anything along those lines no okay so it's basically turn-based combat with collectibles because there's like a few hundred pokemon you can go collect and they all have different moves and strengths and weaknesses and kids love that some of them look cool and some of them are cute and you know there's also a lot of like high level math optimization if you get really into that sort of thing but you also don't have to do any of that if you don't want to you know you really gotta determine your own level of involvement with different facets of the game and you'll still make general progress and have fun is there is there an issue with this concept of like collect em all stuff that i i know is is a is a tagline and the fact that like you level up a monster and you grow a customer you kind of create a bond with the monster and then you throw them away easily for the next monster is that is that an issue or a problem at all in this series well part of the game is that you kind of do cycle out your party some but you don't have to play with the most powerful optimized monsters you could say i found this one that's like a ghost of a like a possessed keychain and you can just be like this is a really terrible pokemon stats wise but it's adorable and i'm gonna run around with this thing because i realize i'm always losing my keys so this one this way i won't in the game at least i'll have this ghost keychain thing um and you could just kind of so you know you find what's right for you okay so uh it was mr hard luck says joe you have to understand that george has been living under a rock his entire life life if it isn't a pinball machine he literally knows nothing about it so i gotta ask uh uh tracy and surreal and dice have any of you guys played pokemon uh yeah i grew up with it i i have not okay at least i don't came out when i was in kindergarten that's right dice is a little bit younger than some of us you know i'm just looking at myself please with the games and you were asking like what's another good what's the easy place to come on board with pokemon you know um if your kid enjoys stuff like animal crossing um there's a pokemon game that's not as battle oriented called pokemon snap have you ever played a rails shooter in an arcade you know where you go through the level and you've got the gun and you shoot off screen to reload that sort of thing uh um not guns of kimbo that was like time crisis yeah like time crisis time crisis sure yeah so it's kind of like that except your switch is it uses the gyroscope and the switch to target and you're a nature photographer who was going on these like courses like through the wilderness and you have to take pictures right i did hear you take pictures so it's got kind of first person rail shooter mechanics but for like taking pictures of adorable animals and stuff and there are things where it's like oh you can throw fruit at certain ones like the respond and and like you can maybe get them in a cute pose if they're happy because they like the fruit you gave them and stuff and so that's a way to introduce the kid to pokemon without the collecting element because you're not at that point creating a party you're just a an observer who's going through but the the environments in it are absolutely beautiful and they've got like multiple variations of each one at different times a day and especially with that say again that's for the switch for the switch oh my gosh sorry and what was that one called new pokemon snap snap like a camera like okay snap you took a photograph got it also sammy like a possessed key ring uh which is just adorable and uh it just floats around with a bunch of keys and jangles um and in terms of its name like which one has the best that that's hard to that's reynolds movie called uh detective pokemon um yeah where ryan reynolds is a pikachu that solves mysteries and it works pretty well so that's what i was going to ask as somebody who uh who has had multiple franchises that i love absolutely ruined how was detective pikachu for for for somebody who likes uh who likes the the genre i i thought it was great um i never actually sat through an entire pokemon animated film because i don't have the patience for that um but it was a very well done visually film a very funny decent script on the whole i i i say decent script in the whole uh the plots of pokemon stuff never actually make any sense and so the plot not really making any sense is consistent with the gameplay plot um but you know it was fine it was it was a fun story with fun characters doing fun things and uh yeah i don't know that i would walk i would recommend you walk into it if you haven't played any of the games though okay oh my god dimpled brain says that they dressed up as jigglypuff when they were a kid um someone needs to post that in the discord um dimblebrain do we get to see pictures yeah is that a thing i need to see pictures i need to see a photo of this random person on the internet dressed up as jigglypuff as a kid dj frogtime is a fan of toto dial okay cool so it seems like as you play you maybe grow an affinity towards a particular type and maybe that's the one that you decide to level up and play with despite it not being maybe the greatest character to beat the game with is that is that part of it well you have a party of six though george so it's not like you have to just pick one you have to pick like a top six thing this is obviously the inspiration for myspace [Laughter] well played well played get over there tom was a big cute monster things and also ryan reynolds yeah good point higher peanut that's actually that i i did see the movie and enjoyed it in the same way that i and i know i'm going to get a lot of hate for this but not sonic no actually i love sonic and i'm not i'm not embarrassed about my leg for sonic at all because because immediately being on the defense about it not even like i didn't even say anything yet no jim carrey was amazing he was so awesome i kind of wish that the internet didn't do the thing where they like fixed them up because i think seeing that as like an awful version of sonic would have been just as hilarious uh like are you afraid of of what it did for entertainment in general like how the internet has a lot more power than than you'd think to to get a company to spend hundreds of millions of dollars well here's the thing with george is if i felt like it was getting in the way of artists visions i'd be upset but i feel like what it's getting in the way of is boardrooms you know somebody at the the production company was like you know you know one of the producers or whatever somebody uh up top he's like i don't like how this sonic looks his eyes are too connected can you make him look more human now the audience won't relate to this guy if he looks like a cartoon you know like it's it's not like the artists handcraftingly and lovingly came up with this brand new sonic design that they knew in their hearts was true it's that they got notes and the notes told them to do something stupid and the internet told the people who were paying for the movie if you do the stupid thing you told everybody to do it's gonna go bad you know okay see i wanted to see the stupid thing i think that would have been freaking hilarious i wanted to see the bad version of sonic i think there's like entertainment in that as well i'm not saying that the the one that exists is bad i think it was actually kind of funny especially because he was sucking down on chili dogs um constantly that was no just once just once just once oh i guess it was at the bar scene right yeah you remember yeah see it's important it's totally important also chaotix was apparently stream how are things how's life and how is that beautiful uh what like all of those le pins that you have how are they all treating you i don't know why i'm totally waiting for frisco to be in chat and like respond via voice oh my god so was i okay so was i i also was like this feels like the perfect time for him to actually chime in i know you could the collection is treating me nicely minus lcd direct captures i can dial in oh so you just got those are is it not set up or did you run into issues with the lcd captures and what he's referring to there is on the pinball machines on the newer lcd sterns or the jjps or the american pinballs or um spooky all of those you can you can actually capture the signal it's more difficult on sterns because they use an lvds connection um and the knight's going well there are 897 pokemon says mahi zero and i need to get pokemon snap there's no question i'm gonna buy that stack i think i think you'll get a lot out of it especially because it's so hard to travel these days so just being able to be like oh look at this gorgeous beach you know look at this desert look at the like all the landscapes in there are incredibly artistically crafted like you know how when you're taking a picture you got to take composition of the background and everything kind of into effects or you know obviously the people who built the game built landscapes that you would want to photograph like so it's not really just the pokemon it's the environments it's the plants it's everything about how you set up the shots and so yeah i think it's a it's a great thing that you and your kid will enjoy awesome gold medal yeah sun dawn things i'm sorry it's not like the greatest multi-balls oh and somehow we're in double scoring ah tried to save that there i put rubber feet feet on all my pinball machines so they don't move around as easily anymore which is kind of frustrating okay george i'm gonna talk i actually i solved this problem right so i went to the um i went to pinball life or whatever and bought the linoleum protectors because i don't want to mess up the linoleum in my apartment right right and then i went to the hardware store and because i didn't want to put adhesive pads directly on the feet of your pinball machine i put them on the linoleum protectors um at the hardware store they sell these like fabric covered like things to make it easier to like slide chairs around like in your dining room or whatever yeah yeah uh furniture movers i think are or what i would call them yeah well they have they have like big heavy ones for like sliding couches around but they have like adhesive pad ones for like just a chair that you're gonna pull out and push in at the dining table right okay yep i'm with you and and so i got those and i slapped them because they've got the adhesive back you peel the little sticker paper off put that on the linoleum rubber feet things that go around the pinball machine's feet and so now i can just nudge and stuff because i was having a hard time practicing my nudging and uh now i can actually tilt for a change so that's nice okay cool so are you and and oh jesus let's try that again so um now that you can move the machine around are you feeling like you're naturally naturally doing so are you are you actually at the right appropriate moments pushing up are you trying to slide the machine left and right you know there's a lot of opportunities and guardians of the galaxy for the ball to just unfairly drain and so yeah i'm definitely um you know if it's going straight down the middle out of groot's mouth i'm able to save it now i might take a danger for it but i usually won't tilt um the outlanes i i'm not as good at catching i'm just not fast enough but like i'm getting there you know so sometimes i get it sometimes i don't but yeah okay but you know you're you're making some progress oh exactly yeah and uh but like i don't know uh i didn't have those uh feet protector things on for the stream the other night so i i didn't nudge at all like the entire time i was up against manu and that was definitely holding me back right and nudging is uh is an art form and you get to see in in high competitive play how how quickly nudging becomes ridiculously important yeah i'm looking forward to continuing to practice it and you know and it's nice too because since i got the linoleum feet thing i could just take them right off and put them on whatever the next machine i get is and uh that's a real common saying is if you don't tilt are you even playing pinball so i i know that there's there's a few other streamers or a few other people that i have played a bunch with whom like that's their goal is to get really good at nudging and something they're frustrated with like surreal where are you on your nudging skills not too bad yeah it's been a while since i played but when i got the opportunity to play with electronic a few months ago um i had some pretty good ones actually yeah yeah and then when i get really comfortable with the table i have no problem moving it a foot to the left to get straight down the middle save right do some huge moves but they're usually really worth it usually so it's not just out of frustration just the the rage tilt no it's not like a rage tilt it's it's a heavy nudge a heavy predicted nudge okay like you can eat like it's it's prior to the thing happening not after it's failed and dice where are you on your nudging skills uh right now it's not doing very well but i've had to uh type a lot recently so i'm back to wearing my carpal tunnel braces okay so physical limitations causing some issues there and people i feel like joke about pinball injuries they're no joke you try moving a 250 300 pound machine on a on the lighter side especially if it has those uh the the guards on the bottom that stop it from easily being able to move to move around and it'll you you can hurt yourself also i like that bun craft we paid for two dangers we use two dangers oh george i'll have to uh fill you in tomorrow night on what rush is like where are you going to go play rush uh player 2 arcade bar in green bay got the rush machine today so i am going tomorrow to get some lunch and play awesome i am uh i'm jelly that game looks amazing i can't wait to get it in house now dice you uh oh did you guys just see the uh one of definitely paying attention all of the things to prepare uh for managing the kids for the week while she's gone and uh and the last thing she says is oh and we're almost out of milk so the next morning the kids get up they're about to have cereal and they realize that they're out of milk they tell the dad the dad has this moment where he's about to say something like try orange juice or water and suddenly he remembers he can't have tea if he doesn't have milk so he's like you know what i'm gonna run out to the store and go get you guys milk and he comes back hours later and he has a story about what happened to him while he went to go get milk and the entire the story about fortunately the milk is all of these different situations in which he maintained holding onto the mill fortunately uh while he was abducted by aliens and he met a stegosaurus uh that a time-traveling stegosaurus and uh met some some people like early humans i'm sorry oh neil it's yeah it's classic classic neil gaiman yeah right right right it's like the entire premise for neverwhere is just i don't know let's see where it like it was the the best case of discovery writing ever basically he came back with the milk and time for them to have lunch yes exactly and that's sorry we were talking about milk that's where my head went i just uh i've read it once uh to zoe and then uh and uh she just brought it back from her mom's last night or today and we started reading it again and it's a really really fun book is anyone else getting some audio issues from george every now and then oh no i'm savage prepacious yeah yeah that's uh they've been working on that since the first game came out they they have uh i i've actually seen clips from from the movies that they've tried to make previously it's it's the whole warcraft thing but that ended up being a fantastic movie and thanks for the chinese market we are getting a sequel but it's going to take them just as long to make the second one ireland scotland and uh ireland and scotland and and Robert Englunds that's a that's a it's like a three-week trip that i've had high on my list for a while that and uh japan oh hell yeah don't mind me choking no worries um tokyo was a lot of fun that i i spent three very hazy nights in tokyo well because in tokyo like public drinking is okay you could just buy a six-pack and go to the park and drink it you'll just inevitably end up meeting someone and talking to them and your night just goes from there that is really cool that is i think kind of exactly what i'm looking for hmm the addicts wants to go to uh australia i enjoyed my time in australia australia is there chaotix i used to always want to go australia and then i thought about all the really awful creatures that could harm me and i thought you know what maybe not uh don't don't let that discourage you i'm just saying that i'd rather you don't have that threat as i i suppose you you you should go to uh go to the university center in bendigo and it the kangaroos there are so domesticated they literally just lay out on the front lawn sunning themselves and waiting for someone to come by and offer them food i already have and you're like there's no way i can make this work and then you try out a small small idea and you're like okay there might actually be something here and then you get a few investors together and you have a whole other auditions and next thing you know you get a movie conan um it should be fun unfortunately the process of making movies is nowhere near as fun to make as they are to watch but but it is very creative if you can get a team around you that's all really dedicated to the cause and uh usually uh whenever i'm around i like to shoot around that area because i can get nyu film students super cheap and uh in exchange for their basically not paid work except for getting food uh something they can put on their resume they get a credit saying they helped in the movie oh is it basically covent ii um no no mine is much more high concept it's in three acts i'm hoping i can keep it under two and a half hours but we've got a very insane schedule for for when that does happen uh are involved at this point uh well i am the writer director and part producer i did throw on a part of the money i have two other uh investors coming on who are also taking on a producer role and then
