Welcome back everyone to the Pinball Wars Wide Podcast. This is Episode 5. I'm Matt and I'm joined by Jared. Evening, sir. How are you, buddy? Good, mate. Good, you? Yeah, not too bad, mate. The date is June 30, 2025. Happy End of Financial Year Day, Jared. End of Financial Year. so can't wait to buy a new machine with these tax returns coming in we have a language warning anyway everyone so young listeners please be advised that there could be a little bit of cursing but we'll try our best this time please there's no trying I don't care it's cursing so thank you everyone that has been listening and enjoying the podcast we actually received a badge from Spotify for having 500 listeners wasn't it? Sorry, 500 listens to our podcast so far, which we're pretty chuffed about, I think. I don't know if it's good or bad after four episodes. I think it's pretty good. It's an achievement of some sort. And if we're at four episodes, we've got about 500 listens. By the 10th episode, there should be well over 1,000. So I'm pretty happy with that. Anyway, Jared, how's your month been, buddy? What's going on? It's been all right. I think we were chatting before, man, like I've barely seen you, which is a bit unusual. We had a catch-up at the start of the month with Rowan, which was like we were going to do one of our interviews, which is kind of fun, so that'll follow after this, I think. But, yeah, so we did that. We had a bit of a play at your joint as well after that, which was nice. It was a good session. It wasn't a big night like a normal session, but it was all right. I think we had a big weekend. And I had a massive weekend ahead from memory. I think my kids, that's right. Was it Easter weekend? No, that was months ago. What was it then? It was a long weekend, wasn't it? You had netball in the morning or something. No, I was taking my kids to my sister-in-law's. Oh, it was a King's birthday. King's birthday weekend. There you go. Yeah, so it was a long weekend. So I had to get up early and get rid of them for the long weekend. And I just didn't want a late night like we normally do. You just can't do it anymore in his old age. No, I can. No, you're right. I probably can't actually. I can't do it myself at my age. But no, it was still a good night. I had an enjoyable play, which was good. What have I been doing? I've been doing a little bit this month, I think, which is not pinball, but the first thing was Leon. As you know, with my backyard, I had a landscaper come around here and literally steal $10,000 off me. I took him to VCAT, won the case, got the marshal involved to try and seize some of his property and there was fuck all property. So I didn't get my 10 grand back. But then I got a letter from my solicitor that he's gone into liquidation and I was like, yes, fuck you. Yeah, a bit of revenge, eh? Bit of a revenge. The funniest thing is today I've actually got an email today from the liquidators. I don't think I'm going to see any money because I think his bank was owed $95,000 or dollars of this. And I presume this is okay to say, isn't it? Like it would all be public information anyway, so I'm not necessarily going to be liable or anything. I'm sure he's not listening either. No, but you just don't know, I suppose, do you? But, yeah, so he owes the bank $95,000, so I don't think I'm going to get anything back between the bank and his liquidators. But as part of the liquidation report, the funniest thing was not only – Because he was a cunt to me. He ignored any possibility to, what do they call it, to mediate. He didn't even turn up to the VCAT case, so I won hands down based off the evidence because there was no his side versus my side sort of shit going on. It seems like the liquidators are having real trouble finding him as well and getting in touch with him. And then he had a car crash. and has only just got out of hospital. So I'm like, karma's fucking bit you bad, you prick. So suck on that. So that was the start of my month, which was very good. It started off good with that news. Otherwise, we've been doing more T-shirt organising. We finally got the design. We're happy with it. We finalised the design. Even after lots of critical feedback. Yeah, there was. Look, I think... Cynical feedback, actually. Yeah, I think people were very dubious that it was all AI and it wasn't because she actually showed me the photo, what do you call it, illustrator and with the layers that were involved in putting the drawing together. It has obviously all been done on a computer or a professional design piece, using a, what do you call it, a stylus or whatever. So, you know, it's all been done by hand. and everything was changeable. It wasn't AI. Yeah, no, not at all. And I think people just got confused because, oh, the pinball's in the background, they're AI. It's like, well, that was her interpretation because she's not in the pinball scene and she doesn't have any idea of what a pinball should look like. That was just her interpretation of the pinballs. And to me, that was fine because the key sort of take out of the whole illustration should have been the koala holding a beer with the Aussie silhouette on. You know, that's the focal point of it all. At least we got it anatomically correct with the two thumbs. At least we got it, which no one picked up on. Oh, you got two thumbs. So I'm presuming, hopefully, people knew. Yeah, but once again, people were saying, oh, pinball machines don't look right. Well, guess what? A koala standing there in a singlet drinking and enjoying itself. Don't look right either. Is it real either, is it? Yeah. Yeah, 100%. So, yeah, so that was good. So I'm just chasing up some printing. I don't think we can get these screen printed I think because of the colours it's going to be digital print so I think we'll have to go that way because the other two people that I've spoken to have come back with that heat digital type print so I think that's where we're going with that so I hope that's alright so yeah, so did that what else did I do? I watched actually some streaming. I thought, I don't know why, I was thinking about Jim Pimble, and I was like, oh, I wonder what that looks like, blah, blah, blah. And I went and had a bit of a look at IE Pimble, which is Carl D'Python Anghelo. And I told you to have a bit of a look at that. Yeah, I did. It's changed my mind on the machine. You know what? 100%. Don't you remember when we first watched that? Yeah, that's atrocious. And that was bloody Bowen Kerins playing it. And he looked like he was missing his shots, and it just didn't seem to flow well. But I watched Carl play that machine, and he literally did not miss any shots, and the flow looked out of this world. And I'm pretty sure that was with also the new code update on the machine. Yeah, it was, because there was a night and day thing going on. That was a waste of time. Was it? Look, some of the code confused me a little bit when he was discussing it, because I think I was focused more on just concentrating on the shots and what they looked like and all that sort of stuff. But the code seemed okay. Again, I still think the animations were okay. I didn't think there was anything major with them that was great, but I just thought the light show and everything, when it did change light to dark, his explanation of some of what the inserts did and stuff like that. Well, one section is about water and the other section is about spice. Yeah, correct. Yeah, so that was the code side of it, where how you build the modes up or play with them or whatever. So, yeah, I don't know why. I just, I think I was just sitting in the games room mucking about and I just put it on and I was like, fuck, I don't know if I sent you a message straight away, but it might have been later in the month, like a week or two ago, and I was like, dude, check it out. Like, this is a lot better than what I first thought. Yeah, 100%. So I watched a bit of that and then, yeah, that's been about it, I think from memory, as I said, just tinkering around. I've been playing a lot of Maiden, which I did a stream for actually, not just last night but a couple of weeks ago as well. So this is your game of the month? Yeah, my game of the month. I don't know. I haven't played it in ages, man. Probably since last time we played it and we enjoyed it. Yeah, it was too. It was. So it was the end of last month. Or end of May. Yeah, when we had a bit of a bash. and then yeah, I was like, I'll give this a bit of a shot. So yeah, played that for a fair bit and enjoyed it. It did a little impromptu stream. It's just a boom mic style with my phone off it and those little Boyer mics. So it worked well. Everyone seemed to be okay with the quality of it. It was fine. Yeah, fine. So hopefully it was okay. It's not like we're watching a full HD. It was fine, mate. You could see what's going on. There wasn't any artifacts or anything. Yeah, I mean, like I said, I've got webcams and all that sort of stuff, which are 120 FPS or whatever they call it. So, you know, so there's good quality webcams if I need it. But just to pull all that sort of shit out, you know, set up the light. Like, I could never get the lighting right. No. It always reflected off the bloody glass. Especially if you're not running Invisiglass either. Yeah, well, Maiden would be. Yeah, yeah, but other machines. Other machines I don't have it on, no. Maybe if we get a sponsor for Invisiglass. Or Vampire Glass, you know. I could get them for free. Yeah, or something like that. We're looking for sponsors if anyone wants to sponsor the show. So, yes, that was sort of – I mean, I've probably ranted for a bit, but that was my month. I suppose when you think of it that way, I've done a little bit. But as I said, the most exciting news was Leon. It was. That's good. So that's me. What about you, Mr. Sick Man? You've had two weeks in bed. Almost three weeks. Almost three weeks. Have you done fucking anything? Honestly, this month has been quiet. So like Jarrod said, we caught up at my place with Rowan and had a play on the 5th of June, which was great. Then I think it was like five days later, I came down sick with the flu and it was the worst thing I've ever had. And it was the flu, influenza, right? I've never felt so crap. I've spent most of the time in bed, still trying to do, obviously, the little bits and pieces around the house, but I haven't played any pinball whatsoever except for since. It must have knocked you. Oh, 100%. Honestly, right now I'm still feeling fatigued. Honestly, I was talking to the pharmacist. I said, yeah, you're going to feel shit for about six weeks. So that's what people are saying. But look, it's what it is. At least I'm going to go get my flu injection like I do every year, but I wish I got it before. But, yeah, it's done the whole family. I took my wife out, took the kids out. As in you haven't shot them and killed them. Yeah, some of that. The colds take them out. The flu, yeah. The flu got us all. So, like I said, we've all pushed through. But my game of the month doesn't exist because I haven't played. I haven't been playing anything. But I think about it. You do have some big news, though, don't you? Oh, yeah, yeah. For what's happened during the month? Oh, yeah. What day was it last week? Thursday. Thursday, yeah. I had my excavator delivered. I've never driven one before. and I'm sitting there doing a bit of research about how to drive them and what the controls are. Don't get me wrong, I've driven Bobcats before, front loaders. I've got a zero-term mower at home, so obviously that requires practice, otherwise you're jerking around. So anyway, I said to the bloke, oh, you're going to take it off? He said, no, you're going to jump up there and take it off. I was like, no. If that was me, I would have been, no, mate. Yeah, I know, but why not? Because if this thing tips off the fucking... Off the... So it came on a tow truck. Yeah. It was on the angle, so I jumped up there. And once again, I just remember watching all the video clips of what to do, and that's it. It goes smooth. If you're smooth, the machine's smooth. So anyway, so I took her down, just started driving around. We've had a lot of rain where I live, so I haven't been out on the grass. It's been very wet. I've spent too much time making my grass beautifully manicured for me to go across there and absolutely destroy it with the tracks. so I've just been practicing in my driveway so I've got a big open area which I've just been sitting on there and just swinging around practicing just working all the controls getting it nice and... Beer in hand Beer in hand too yep 100% Put a little stubby holder on it already Unfortunately there's no cup holder mate it's to do them That's what I'm saying have you put a stubby holder on it? I need to get robbed of 3D print me something up so I can yep put a stubby on it I already thought about this anyway so yeah that's my exciting news so like I said I finally pulled the trigger bought my excavator got it got all the attachments love it so 1.5 ton with a um 14 horsepower commuter motor sure that means nothing to half you so um Matt Cave update nothing's happened because I've been sick actually I did have a um meeting for them to come around and have a look and go through some stuff and I had to cancel because I was just feeling shit so this is on my list this week to make a phone call and if I wasn't here right now I'd probably be on the phone talking to them and organising a time to meet up with them. Well, I'm glad you chose me. I did, because if I'm left at another day, you're going to tell me I'm going to do this podcast with you. Matt, I can't. I would have. No, you wouldn't have. You just cannot do it. So anyway, it's like the start of the month, like we said, we had to catch up with a friend, Rowan, which we did a podcast with. So it's called Pin Addicts. And so this is a pre-recorded podcast from the start of the month. So enjoy. All right. So we're just throwing into a new segment called Pin Addicts. And we have a special guest this month. Would you like to introduce yourself? Hi, my name's Rowan and I'm a pinball addict. That's a good start. Thank you, mate. Welcome to the Pinball Oswald podcast. Thank you guys for having us. Yeah, pleasure. Thanks for coming along. I suppose we just want to start off. Tell us who you are, what you do. How well you've been in the hobby for and what machine you are. Yeah, give us your background. Well, as I said, my name... Where did you come from? Where did I come from? Do we want to go there? Well, my name's Rowan. As I said previously, I got into the hobby in late 2019. Okay. Blakey, if you're listening, you started this off. There's always one, isn't there? There is always one. Always someone to blame. It started with my first machine being an Apollo 13. What is it with Apollo 13? Being a first machine. And I remember this one back in the day as well when you picked that up. I mean, did you actually like it? But did you play it before? How did you choose such a machine? I just wanted a pinball machine. I went to Blakey's workshop, and we've always been in the cars and bikes together, and he had pinball sitting in the corner, a couple of EMs, a cue ball wizard, played a few games, and it reignited the fire from when I was a kid. The same story everyone else has got. They used to play the pinball machine at the local fish and chip shop. Not me. I was an arcade boy. Well, there you go. They had a T2 in my one. We played the crap out of that. And then I didn't play Pinball Machine up until, yeah. Did you say Apollo was in there? No, he didn't have Apollo. So then why the fuck did you choose Apollo? I don't mind Space Theme. Space Theme, okay. Before I purchased it, I actually Googled it and watched some YouTube. Thank you, YouTube. There's a plug. Give us some money. It doesn't work like that. and watched some gameplay and yeah, I had disposable cash sitting there and thought, let's just get it. How much was it in 2009? I think I paid like three and a half grand. Yeah. I played it that much that I ended up hating it. Yeah. I just played the living crap out of it and then I moved on and I sold on, bought another machine and... Which was? Do you remember? High Speed Getaway. Okay, this would be better. Been the car guy, loved it. I've only recently just got rid of it. And then I decided, well, one's kind of crap. Why not just start buying more and more? And then I filled a room. And then it's just snowballed from there. But like most people these days, I'm locked to a certain amount of machines. I need to sell something to replace something. I've seen your shed, mate. Don't fucking lie to us. There's no way you'll lock to us. Get rid of that bust out another thousand boner. Oh, well, that's the problem. I've got too many hobbies, but everything always comes back to the pinballs because I love pinballs. They're bloody awesome. Yeah. But if I could have more, I'd have more. But I've got to get rid of something. Yeah, fair enough. To get something else. Fair enough. Yeah. So, yeah, I've got nine machines at the moment. Okay. List them, people want to know I've got Because you just bought two new ones I did buy two new ones, yes Well done You boys are going to love this Buck Hunter You know, it's that ultra rare machine Yeah, right I've got Buck Hunter I've got a Stern Porrots of the Caribbean I've got the Ali Cactus Canyon I've got a Roadcase Metallica we might chat about the LE update after this too and see what your thoughts are with all of that yeah go on so Metallica road case I've got a back in black ACDC shit okay nice that's a kind of rare machine isn't it yeah it's 250 350 they did a Let There Be Rock as well didn't they yeah I must admit I much prefer the back in black it's a nicer not that I dislike the red I think the black, it just... I like the black. Yeah. The black suits are nice. Yeah. I've got a JJP Hobbit. Yep. I've recently got a Munsters. Okay. Alley. Alley, yeah. And a Led Zeppelin Premium. Yep. Yeah. Okay. That's not too bad. Nice selection, isn't it? Yeah, a bit of a variety in it all. Yep. I've done the switch from predominantly back a few years ago with the 90s machines. I've slowly updated to the newer machines, more reliable. But you originally also had a Godzilla premium and a Avengers premium. Yeah. You had a few? I've had a few. I've had a few. Yeah, move along. Same as most people. You play it that much and then, well, because I don't have the funds to keep adding on, you just move something out It a bit of a club theme Yeah yeah Cost of everything these days Yeah Fucking ridiculous so I Now do we want to put you in the deep end now or do you want to give us your top 10 machines that you played and that you love in this whole world from starting from number 10 to going to number one, obviously, being your number one machine? Yeah, we set you a challenge, didn't you? Well, Matt only set you the challenge like yesterday. You didn't get too much notice. I won't lie. I didn't do any prep. Well, you don't need to. I just knew my machine's straight. I'm pretty sure we just rattled them off their heads. He's tried to predict, and I did as well, tried to predict a couple of yours, so I'd be interested to see if they come through. So let's start with your number 10. 10, I'd go high-speed getaway. Make sure you put these in order. You can't change your mind and go, well, actually, 10 high-speed getaway? Yeah, I reckon 10 high-speed getaway, just because I'm the car guy. Yep. I like that. 9 I would say it's hard you had an hour and a half trying to think of this yeah I didn't do any of it clearly sorry guys I've let you down Data East Jurassic Park is that because you picked that one up for 1500 bucks the other week I wish I would like to know how many times his phone had a meltdown over that. Like, wow. Whoever, if you're listening and you brought those machines, congratulations. You just had a score. He's still got his Daytona for sale if you want it. Yeah. It's just not as cheap as those pinballs. So you're number eight anyway. Number eight. What was nine? JP. Oh, Drexel. Sorry. Number eight, I would say Deadpool. Okay. I'm starting to hate you a little bit more now being so low on the list, but whatever. That's your list. Number seven, I would go Godzilla. Okay. I had a love-hate relationship with that machine. Sometimes it was really good to play, and other times the bastard would just drain that quick that I'd just throw my hands in the air and walk away. What are we up to? Six. Six. I would say Adam's Family. Okay. A bit of nostalgia. I don't it's one of those ones that they come up for sale all the time but they're ultra rare and they're super expensive yeah it would have been I should have brought one when they were very cheap um five he says being in the hobby since 2000 yeah that's right I know anyway um five Hobbit I reckon I reckon Hobbit yeah it is a top 5 I reckon for me too I think it was mine I think mine was a top 5 Hobbit I just think it's brilliant you'll probably be surprised at this but I'm going to go for 4 Buck Hunter I know you're just going to hate me for it and I'm an idiot but as much as it's like a boring kind of layout and game because I'm into my hunting and shooting so much. He's a redneck, folks. Yeah, I live in the country. We shoot deer. We're probably winning blues in a flat and level. Great strays you make, though. I'll give you that. Thank you. Buck Hunter. Yeah, I'd go Buck Hunter. What is that, four? Four. I don't know what's number one there. I can't believe you. Buck Hunter, well above Deadpool. Deadpool was what, eight? They were fucking hollow, though. Get out. I'm going to kick myself for putting them in this order. Yeah, damn straight you are. Three would be ACDC. Okay. Yep. I don't mind my music theme. Yep. Two, Metallica, obviously. Ooh, okay. Yeah. But, like, number one, this is, I don't know whether Matt's going to be shocked with me putting this as number one. Well, we thought Metallica would be one. Yeah. It's, yeah. I really love, is he already onto it? I don't know. Porridge, JJP. Oh, fuck, no. That's not it. No. Porridge, JJP. Okay. What did you think he was going to say? He was going to say Swords of Fury. Because he would talk about every game in the world. You know, jeez. Yeah. Okay. Swords of Fury is a good game. That can be an honourable mention. Yeah. JJP, okay. Pirates. I would have been bloody freaking ACDC. Sorry, Metallica, ACDC, then Pirates. also then Hobbit it's one of those not your top 10 bit of a talk back it's one of those games that every time I come to your house Matt I just it just calls me which is where we are today so we can have a bit of a bash so yeah that's oh shit sorry guys I had in my head he just said Stern Pirates that's why I was so shocked no I own Stern Pirates it is nowhere near as good as JJP Pirates by your own freaking buck hunting you reckon it's better than you reckon Deadpool. It's only because of the nostalgia. It fits into my other hobbies. I don't mind you having it at top ten. I mind you having it at number four with Deadpool at number eight. That's really where my issue stands. Yeah. But okay. Interesting top ten. I like it. Yeah. I like it. Because you see everyone's got different tastes, obviously. It is that. I mean, the fact that you've done that, though, is probably going to cost you a stride roll that Deadpool is so low. I reckon I could live with that. Well, I think we're going to have a plan today. Okay. And then that way we can get a bit better at it. We'll let Jericho play. We'll play with someone else and we'll come back when he's finished because we're going to stand there for an hour. I do love it. It's a good game. The same can be said with you and fucking pirates. Yep, sometimes. And sit there waiting forever. Yeah, go play another machine and you still don't come back and it's still not your turn. Yep. Boring as shit. It is what it is. Nice. Okay, I like that. Top ten. Done and dusted. You don't have to worry about anything else you want to talk about. We were going to talk about the Cactus Canyon ad online, because you've got Cactus Canyon in your collection, as do you, Matty. That's right. I don't, so I'll just default to what you guys say about it. So what was it? It's the final release, wasn't it, the final code, which also comes with an extra few, what was it, extra 10 modes or 12 modes. It comes with a spinner. So this is the Lyman code. The Lyman code. What they're talking about, isn't it? Yeah. Great. so it's got extra shots, or sorry, extra modes, an extra it actually has a spinner in it there if you purchase this upgrade and it comes with these saloon bar doors and also shows which batty or which bark you're fighting. Do people have the ability to put a spinner into a machine? It does actually look pretty simple from what I can see for myself, yes. Think about the first time buyers that have gone out and bought Cactus Canyon and they're like fucking love this and then oh i can buy something extra okay that's what and a spinner how the fuck do i had a spinner i think the extra cash i was in for someone to come out and do it mate keeping those people in um yeah yeah i think when people say i think it said it was like a two and a half hour yeah okay to install a spinner no for the whole the whole kit i'm gonna say jesus so i thank you for someone that's got not much of an idea yeah that means i just banked them like three two and a half grand two and a half yeah that is a hell of a lot of money for an extra upgrade which should have already been in the machine especially when you're spending sixteen thousand eight hundred I think it was wasn't it yeah I believe it was for a new box machine and you just it's another and considering these machines are struggling they've been fetched what are they fetching twelve grand isn't it I think there was one for like thirteen thousand the other day Ali like so you know this machine's already lost what three and a half grand so why on earth So my guys are now going to invest another $2,500 on a dud red cell. Not that I'm going to sell it, but it's just purely I'm overcapitalizing. And that's the story. Is that code and update going to be worth that much investment back into the machine? I don't think so. Personally, I don't know. But what about yourself? I had, when it was shipped out, the email to me with what I'd like to put a pre-order in. I just blatantly just went, no, I'm not investing any more money into that machine. I'll leave it how it is. I'm happy with it. It plays good how it is. I just, two and a half grand, I might as well put that into another machine. Especially since you said you're restricted with room and money as well. If you do want to sell this machine, you can be copping a loss as well. So there's no point. So I'm sure as well, even if you put this upgrade on it, you are still going to be copping another loss. you'll probably even lose five grand yeah i think i'm gonna buy it i don't i'll the idea is to keep this one bolted but i still don't think it's worth the upgrade like yeah i don't think it's worth it i just don't see how they haven't learned from what stern did with the stranger things in the uv kit and like oh here you go pay extra and everyone lost their shit and then they started including it, so why wouldn't CGC just learn from that and do the same thing? I don't get some of these companies. They're so bizarre, mate. And the whole thing is, I'm sure as all hell they're not actually sitting there making so many LEs, whether there's 1,250, wasn't there? Yeah. 1,250 LEs, mate. I'm sure they're not making 1,250 of these atoms, because otherwise... Well, they'd be making for demand, wouldn't they? That's what I was going to say, for demand, yeah. So they're definitely not... So rather than waiting 10 years for an add-on, you're probably only going to wait the five. Yeah, that's it. More than likely. Hey, you mentioned you see that, what was it, it was bolted, the Cactus Canyon. So what ones are bolted? Cactus, ACDC, Hobbit. Hobbit's bolted? Yeah. You lying bastard. No, I love it. It's one of those ones that's good to go play because it's... You said you'd sell that to me. Yeah, I'm sure you did. Well, if I ever decide to, you're the first cab off the rink. So it's not bolted? Hang on a minute. Back the truck up so it's not bolted. Well, it depends. If I can need money to buy something else, well... It's not bolted then. It's not bolted. Oh, it's only semi-bolted. Bolted, to me, is regardless of my money elsewhere. All right. Well, ACDC, Metallica, I think Actors Canyon. My son absolutely loves playing it. Yeah, okay. I enjoy it. How old is your kid? Four next month. Okay. So he's just getting right into it He's got a love when we go into the To my Cave The Rowley Cave The workshop I call it It does say Rowan's workshop On the door, on the PA door Yeah, fucking call that He's one more than you Did you say PA door? I did say PA door No, it's a personal access door See, you are fucking... Hey, that's what it says on the plans, man. No, Chairman, I... I've got to run with that. See, this is what happens when you've got to hang out with a play-by-play. He doesn't know any complex movement. It's just a door. So he's... When we go out into the workshop, he gravitates to... He loves pirates. Yep. He plays that. Yeah, okay. He loves monsters. He's just been... Every time... Dad, let's go play monsters. So he plays monsters and he loves Hobbit. Yeah, cool. And every now and again, he alternates between ACDC and Metallica. Okay. Okay, so that's so. So ACDC's bolted. Yeah, Metallica's bolted. Metallica's bolted. The only way I would sell that was if I upgraded from the road case to an alley. Yeah, right, okay. Yep. Okay. So that's it out of the, what did you say? You had eight or nine? Nine, yeah. So just two are bolted? Or is Hobbit bolted? No, well. You can't. It's bolted but without lock-top and the spanner next to it. I don't know. Everything that I've got now, I would kind of keep. The only ones that I would probably move on would maybe be Pirates down the track. Oh, I don't think I said I had a Foo Fighters Ali as well. No, you didn't. There you go. That's bolted. Foo Fighters is bolted. I love Foo Fighters. Yeah, you'll lose too much money on that. I'm not interested in that. Who cares? Someone buy that one for $6,500. It's a good deal. Yeah, 100%. But, yeah, the ones that would go would be, yeah, Buck Hunter. I'd probably sell Pirates if I had to. Even though I've only just got Led Zeppelin, I would probably move that. I'm considering maybe moving something in the next few weeks due to needing some extra funds to buy a new vehicle or help with a new vehicle. So if anyone's looking, hit Rowan up. One might be for sale soon. Led Zeppelin. I love Led Zeppelin but yeah that's probably the one that would go on the chopping block I've been playing it flat out but I found a car that I do like and we're in negotiations so that could be available and if it sells through the podcast we'll just take 10% it's usual 20% but for me it's 25% thank you guys and a roll of stress I'll even chuck in a couple of sticks of cabana love it, deal Anyway, Ryan, good chatting with you, mate. Oh, you're getting cut off. Yep, we're cutting him off. Well, time's done, mate. Thanks for having me, boys. You should keep talking. No, I reckon that's about right. Have you got anything else you want to add before we go? No, he's cut me off. That's it, I'm done. That's it. I'll come back sometime soon for another visit. Sounds good. Look forward to it. Thanks for your time, man. Thank you. Our very first pin addict. So that was a bit of fun with Ryan. It was. So now we've got our pinball price modged. And now we're going to financially recover. You know, that's just like your opinion there. I'm going to make a monotonic interview. It's worthwhile to have a bit of a chat about what's been going on in the industry, specifically, I guess, our page and other pages with some machines. I mean, I still feel like prices are coming down. They are, 100%. They're still settling more and more and more. and the few little examples I wrote that you saw was a Kiss Pro at 10.5, a Star Wars Pro at 8.5. I mean, we've got a CV now at 13.9. Yeah, that sounds good. There is one still sitting at 15.5, so maybe he's holding out, which is okay. But, I mean, Kiss Pro specifically. Star Wars Pro, I was always like, they're overpriced. But a Kiss Pro specifically at 10.5, man, I mean, And that's pretty cool. It's not bad. But then again, I only paid $6,800 for my premium. Back in the day, obviously. For your kids. No, no, for the young Star Wars. Oh, right. Sorry. I just thought I'd say that. Yeah. Well, be careful saying that because then otherwise people expect you to sell your machines and what you bought them for. I sell no machines and we know this. You see where I'm going with that? No, no, no, not at all. Because it's a different market, completely different. Okay, as long as we agree so that when we come to the best buy, that's why I've laid that foundation. So anyway, there's also a no-good gophers for sale, six grand. That's quite unheard of. They were fetching up eight, nine grand. Yeah, eight and a half, nine. Yeah, yeah. So it's crazy. And there's a pinball lost world. So an OSS machine. So it looks in really good condition from what I can see. That was at four and a half. Obviously hasn't sold and is now at three, three. Yeah. But it's good that some of these people are meeting the market as well. Yeah, well, that's right. But I reckon it's probably still worth a bit less. I think, yeah, I think like the Lost Worlds of Xenons and, you know, sort of cheaters and those kind of machines, coin kind of machines. I don't know why I went real ochre there. But those kind of machines, they tend to demand a little bit higher, I reckon. but I would still reckon that a lot of the SS should be, yeah, around that three, three and a half. Yep. I don't think many would be over that these days. No, definitely not. I'm surprised there's some EMs at that, though, which is... Well, didn't you say there was a Xenon for sale? Yeah, so there was a Xenon at six and a half on the page at the moment. And that's a new playfield and everything, isn't it? Yeah, yeah, so that's sort of semi-restored, would you say, because the body's been left original. That's right. but still six and a half, people would have been asking for eight, nine, ten. Yeah, for those restored style ones, they were certainly... Yeah, I was going to use the word commanding, but I think they were commanding those prices, but that's where they were priced at, was around that eight to ten mark, and they've fallen dramatically now as well. I mean, there's a junkyard on the page for eight and a half. Like, you know, back as – and we always revert back to COVID because that's when that sort of that bubble burst of people coming into the market. Even after COVID, like, honestly, 22, even 23 machine prosper holding. Yeah. So, but then, yeah, but then it was like 24. Who would you say then Junkyard would have got? Eight and a half? Well, at least 10. Yeah. Yeah. Whereas now, I just don't think they command those sort of dollars at the moment. I mean, as I said, there was the Star Wars Xenon. What else was there? There's the Foo Fighters LE. You said we might have chatted about that last month for 16.5. Yes. Because there was one with a topper, but this one was without. Yeah, no, I think they had it for 19 with the topper. Yeah, but this one was just specifically advertised at 16.5. Yeah, so. And I was like, you know, like that's, what were they, 21? Yeah. You know, there was a big labazz. at $17,500, they're $22,000 or $23,500 or something, aren't they, into Australia. That's a five grand hit as well. So I think more and more, I reckon, for me, people have just got to hold. I shouldn't say people because when I said for me, for me, I'm just going to hold at the moment on buying anything until I see a real settling. Yep. Once I know that the market's come to that stop, then I'll look to do a little bit more, as I said, because I will sell my Game of Thrones at some stage and look to bring in, as I said, I think, Stranger Things. But if the market's so good, maybe like your Theatre of Magics and those that I've loved, that I'd love to get back, maybe they'll be back down to that 10 to 12 mark as opposed to sitting at 13 to 14 and a half or whatever they're sitting at now at the moment. And they are sitting. They're not selling. Yeah, that's right. So, yeah. So, I still reckon there's still some settling to do. You think? Oh, for sure. Yep How much I don know but in the higher price machines definitely for sure But at least like I said we seeing the belly wounds coming down Yeah Noise machines for sure I be interested to see what happens with the NIVs these days as well how quickly they sort of sell based on pricing We know there are LA machines still in stock at distributors, which is unheard of as well. We'll talk about distribution. You had that, what was it, the collective tank force up. Oh, my God. What are you doing? Oh, yeah, well done. So that was the other thing. Mega memory. Yeah, American Pinball. I don't know why. It just came up on my feed thinking of, obviously, the pinball. As a 4th of July sale, American Pinball, which I presume was direct, and it said, while supplies last, from June 20th to July 7th, July is written really badly because it's J-U-L, so I presume it's July 7th, their signature edition, which was their top-of-the-line edition of their Galactic Tank Force... Which turns into a tank. Which turns into a tank. I mean, the regular price was $14,995. And that's American dollars, yeah. So what's that equate to? $23 again, something like that? I mean, they took 50% off. They offered it at $7,995. Yep. Now, I mean, if that is not... I mean, if I was a distributor, I would be bleeding. Like, if you're holding stock of that and they've decided to slash the price by half and you've still got stock, you'd be mega pissed at that. Especially if you're trying to sell it at, say, even a $12,000. You know, you're giving a couple thousand dollars off. About 50% off. 50% off. And once again, are we going to see these discounts in Australia? No. Hell no. No. This is absolutely bonkers. Because, you know, it's 4th of July special. I mean, you know what? It had almost, even with that argument that I'm sure that we were to, you could almost buy it from there and get it shipped over and still be cheaper, without a doubt. And obviously, how much profit is in these machines? If you can knock 50% off, how much profit? Yeah. So I'm sure they're not losing on that. There's no way they'd be losing on that, surely. But I just wonder as well, not just that, but whether or not it was a good choice. Yeah. Maybe American Pinball. I don't know. They've not. What did they just recently? What's their most recent title that they've done? American Pinball after GTA. Barrios, wasn't it? Barrios. Barrios, Barbecue. Because I noticed as well Valhalla. So all of their machines were taking a discount as well. But to see that 50% off, I was like, that floored me. It was crazy. So that was a massive one. So what about the best buy of the month? Best Buy of the Month. Shout out to Rowan. Yep. He's had a few shout outs, this podcast, The Lucky Bastard. Yep. Well, you can, do you want to tell the story? Well, I don't know. Do I tell the story? Fucking nice. Let the cat out of the bag. Yeah, we'll tell Rowan's dirty little secrets, eh? Yep. So, there was a post on, was it on Marketplace or was it on, I don't know if it was Marketplace or Gumtree. He saw it and it said free. Free. Free, the listing was. the person had a WWF, Tata East, and a T2. Yep. Wanting to give away for free because he had to move out and he had no room. He'd had the machines for something like 15 years, I think he said. Yeah. I could be wrong. But anyway, so Rowan jumped on it, rang the guy. He lived around the corner. He went straight there. No, he didn't. Did he not go there? No, and this is why I was very nervous for him because he called me. Oh, that's right. And he was at work. So he saw the ad at like 11 or whatever it was, and he told the bloke, yeah, I'll grab him. That's right, after work at 4 o'clock. That's right. At work, after work, I finished at 4.30. He goes, oh, I'll get my car. He goes, and of course, typical thing that you always think when you see free, you're like, what's the catch? Yeah, yeah, yeah. What is, am I going to get mugged or whatever, you know? And of course, then the excuses started happening. Oh, mate, I can't help you. I've got a bad back. Well, I was like, yeah, no problems. I've got a trolley. He goes, oh, but I can't lift it. I can't put it into a car. He goes, it's all right. I've got a trailer, mate. I'll just lift it straight into the trailer, trolley him on, and I'll be done, mate. He goes, you're around the corner from me. I'll be there. He took his neighbor with him. He took his neighbor with him. Yeah. And he showed up at the property. Yep. No problems. Went in. Literally loaded him straight on the back. While he was there, the bloke's phone, he reckons, was blowing up. Yeah, he was getting offers. Yeah, offers nonstop. On the machines while they were there. So Rowan being a bloke he is, he just pulled out all the money he had in his pocket, which was like, I think there was some moths and some lint, a couple of buttons. After a few sneezes. No, he pulled out $300 and gave it to the bloke. So he got away with a WWF Data East and a T2 for $300. That is unheard of. I don't think I've ever had a school that bloody big ever. I mean, he could have got them for nothing. Yeah, he could have got them for nothing, but he just gave them lots of money. And to Rowan's credit, the bloke actually said, don't worry about it. And Rowan's like, no, just take the money, mate. At least the bloke said, oh, at least there's some beer money there. Yeah. Absolutely crazy. That is a bonkers story. I mean, we've seen photos, to be fair. The T2's, the body's a bit trashed. Yeah, yeah, the body's a bit trashed, but the playfield's fine. Yeah. I haven't seen the WWE. The WWE looks all right. It has a little bit of flip-flop wear. But I would say, look, he's got to do a couple of things. He's got to send WWE boards off to B, because he's a bird connector. But otherwise, all he needs to do is some LEDs, rubbers, balls, give it a clean. And as you said, he's going to take these machines to the Melbourne Pinball Expo. So put them at our display stand. So they'll be on free play for everyone to enjoy. And so everyone can see what you can get for $150 each machine. Absolutely crazy. Yeah, he's definitely done a very good purchase with that, without a doubt. A very lucky man. Very lucky man. And what about you, mate? Do you have any what the fucks this month? You know what? I do. I said what the fucks. What the fucks. We were chatting earlier because I was like, I originally wanted just to keep one machine as a what the fuck, but there's been too many this month. Yes, there has. There has been way too many this month. I do want to give a shout-out actually to Mulder Scully, who joined the page recently after a long hiatus. Apologies, mate. He sent me a screenshot of a theatre of magic that was on Gumtree for $25,000. And it was just a standard kind of looking machine. There was nothing great about it. Yeah, honey, I'll sell the machine. Yeah, I'll put it up, no problems. And he's probably just put this huge price on it just because it's like, oh, yeah, okay, that's what it is. But, yeah. Oh, excuse me. Sorry, I've just found it, $27,999. Oh, there you go. So $28,000 for a theatre of magic. Does he say it's rare? Well, I went to see if I could find it. It is off Gumtree now. So as I said, he's probably just pulled it down and he wouldn't have got any bots or anything. But yeah, Mulder Scully, appreciate that, mate. Thanks for the send-through of the WAPAFUCK. There was as well a South Park machine for $15,000. Like, what the fuck, man? How is that worth? $15,000. They weren't even fetching tech. Well, you know what? Actually, I do know one that sold during COVID for about $10,000. But still, we're out of COVID and you're asking five grand more. I'm sorry. Yeah, it's at best, at best, a five to five and a half grand machine. At best. Like it's, oh, it's just like, what the fuck, man? And there was one other, I will give this seller at least a shout to say he's trying to meet the market, but there was a laser ball pinball machine, again on Gumtree, for $12,000. Yep. But $12,000, I think it's a wide-body SS machine. I mean, the three pictures, you saw the pictures, mate. Yeah, all blurred. You know, one picture was basically lights, as in pinball lights on in a dark room, so all you could see was LEDs. Yeah, that's it. And then the other one was standing at player's perspective, again, with just LEDs. So, I mean, for $12,000 for a laser ball, just no, no. I think he's dropped it down to sort of six, sevens or something now. But I was just like, what the fuck, man? Like, that's just silly. I did have one more. You were again a bit like, be warned, don't do it. But there was, and probably still is, a lethal weapon on the page at ten and a half. Not card, aren't you? I've seen that. And I was like, what the fuck? Like, that's again lethal. I know Lethal Weapon's popular. And it's come in here shortly. But not at 10 and a half. Not even at 7 and a half. Like 7 and a half, you know, okay, you're a little bit over. You're doing it for negotiation. But at 10 and a half, you're just taking the piss. You're just not going to eat a sale. That's the end of the story. No. So that's my what the fucks. Yeah, that's it. Yeah, that was. So I guess we'll just move on and keep going. I think with my little June chat at the start, do you want to have a bit of a chat about some of the machines that have come out recently and what we think about them or what they're like? Yeah, for sure. What do you reckon? So there's been Pinball Brothers Predator. We've had Harry Potter, which have been the two main ones coming out. Yeah, well, nothing else has been really satisfying. So let's Pinball Brothers. Oh, you started this one, mate. I knew you'd say that. And honestly, I just... There's been a bit of chatter. I think there's... Who is it that's on the page? And he's currently got his Game of Thrones and his Transformers up for sale. Oh, Glenn Twiddle, yep. Glenn, shout out, mate. Welcome back to the page. You went quiet. Yeah, we were missing for a while, didn't we? Went quiet for a while, but you're back. Hopefully you're listening as well. And hopefully you hang around. Hopefully you hang around. But I notice you've got a queen, and I know he made a point on the thread that he's bought a couple but has been disappointed with them, even though I think the after-sales tech support, probably direct as opposed to the distributor here in Australia who's been a bit hot and cold, has helped him out. But I don't know why you would buy a Pinball Brothers machine. I just – such a great theme. Amazing machine. It's a dream thing, honestly. It really is. And to that point, Pulp Fiction for me was a dream thing. Oh, 100%. And I just think that got screwed over completely for me. Yeah. Personally, I didn't like the single player. I don't care if Quentin Tarantino was involved in it and that's what he wanted. I would have told him to fucking shove it. This is what the market requires and wants. This is where the market's heading. We don't need a $20,000-a-season SS machine. You know what they could, and I know this is diverting a bit, but what they could have done is what they did with Black Knight and have a throwback to the original in a brand new machine. Yeah, that's right. Because that works brilliantly in Sword of Rage. They have that throwback to where you play, is it Black Knight 2000 or whatever it is? Black Knight 2000. You know, all the old school songs or music come into it, the code and everything, and it's great. Could have just done that with Pulp Fiction. Anyway. Predator. Sorry. Predator. oh look not not great i mean i put the post up and at the time they actually had the stream well yeah but they had um the video that they had just showed to like a shot and then stopped and then a different shot and then stopped blurs in and out every time they change the camera so they took it down because that was just left apparently it wasn't supposed to be up there which i didn't realize until i had a bit of a look later but i mean i i watched the in inverted as the official stream from the guys who make it, and he's a shit pinball player. He should never be doing that sort of stuff because it looked awful. He wasn't hitting any shots. The call-outs were terrible. The assets look awful. The play field looks awful. I just don't like it, unfortunately, and it's such a dream theme for so many people. Well, what honestly makes it a predator machine? You look at the play field, there's no assets on it. Oh, sorry, you've got one plastic on the halfway up on the right-hand side, which is Predator's face with his mask off. And you've got your little teamy toy in the back, which is on some sort of a mechanism which moves up and down, left and right. Big whoopin'. It looks like they've got some foliage in there. So it looks like they went to a $2 shop. And I'm pretty sure I've got the same plant in my laundry. It's a fake plant. And they went, that'll look good if we break off some of the branches and go and hot glue them behind Predator and make it look like an immersive jungle scene, you know? Maybe he took a leaf out of Home Pin with the... All those plastic trees. Plastic trees. What is that machine? What is that, Thunderbirds? But honestly, yeah, it's a wide-body machine. Yeah. I don't think it needed to be by the look of it. Look, I don't mind the Wi-Fi. Look, I love the spiral loop here that's greyed and all, but, yeah, like, there's just nothing to it. Hey, here, let's load up the Gatling gun. Let's load it up and watch it blow up the place. And all it was was some lights flashing. It does spin, doesn't it? Yeah, it spins. But when it's shooting, it's shooting into the camp, yeah? Yeah. It's shooting into the camp. Nothing happens, just the lights showing up. Why couldn't they have had a mechanism there, like it blowing up or something? Many of them, it's like something is shaking around and stuff. There's just nothing in the machine. There's no mechs in it. There's just nothing. I think maybe to their credit. And for $20,000, this is why, if this machine was maybe 10, 12 grand, I probably wouldn't be so cynical. Critical. Yeah, critical, cynical, whatever you want to say. Yeah. But it's just this price tag for it. Look, there is no characters on the play field. Why isn't Arnold on the play field? All the other... And the call-outs. Yeah, there's nothing. Isn't it just a voice actor? It sounds like a voice actor. Yeah, it's a voice actor. Sounds terrible, man. So there's just nothing, integration's just not there. Sure, you get Predator come up with his thermal imaging camera and makes the noise, but, jeez, you know. I think what I've noticed is that maybe, and tell me if I'm wrong, like, for instance, King Kong, they didn't have the video assets. No, they made their own. But they got the playfield assets and everything, so they had the lightness, they were able to use King Kong and draw King Kong, you know. That's right, lightness. Yeah, yeah, and they did the same with Avengers, didn't they? Oh, yeah, that's exactly right. You know, Jurassic Park as well, although Jurassic Park, they had some of the assets, which was, yeah, but the intro as well with the helicopter and stuff. Helicopter, yeah, I guess. So they had a little bit of that stuff, but at least there was assets on the play field of a raptor and a T-Rex, you know, and the truck that spun. So they put assets into the machine, whereas not the video, but it doesn't look like they've done this at all. So what have they paid for? Just the license? No idea. We want to use the word predator? Pretty much. And the artwork on the body looks pretty ordinary. It doesn't look like they've hit it out of the park, and I reckon so many people would have wanted them to. It's disappointing because it was made by someone else that would be ten times better. We say that about a lot of manufacturers, though, as well. There's always that discussion, you know, JJP bringing out something, oh, I wish Stern had done that, or Stern bringing out something, oh, I wish JJB had done that. That's not unusual. But this is Pinball Brothers. Yeah. So, mate, Queen, what a great music machine. Yeah. But it plays like a turd. Yeah, same with ABBA. And ABBA, horrible. And if Predator plays anything like them, yeah, I wouldn't waste your money. Yeah. Well, like I said, the video that I saw was not great. but see how they go I'm sure they'll sell them because there's always people well I don't know how many they sell but I'm sure they'll sell some because there's always people that are like nah nah you know I want to be the exclusive few and that's cool yeah it's cool it's fantastic well I'd still I've never played one never seen one in person so could I change my mind look I love all pinball as I've always said I know you don't but it's just in general but I just yeah From what I'm seeing, I'm not impressed. But in saying that as well, I mean, June we weren't that impressed with, and then I saw that stream. Yeah, that's true. And then it was like, fuck that. That's not fair. So you never know. It may change. I think with Pinball Brothers, they've got a history, though, which is what's going to probably hold them back a little bit. But from them to Harry Potter, maybe, like, what's your thoughts on? Harry Potter. What's been going on with all of that? You know what's been going on with that, haven't you? Oh, I know. The assets and shit? Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, most of it's not. Well, I think I do, unless I missed something. No, I'm just talking about, like, what they've, everyone's uproar about the... Oh, about sound clips missing, yeah, missing sound. But also the AI. Oh, the AI, yeah, I saw that, but isn't that all corrected? I thought that's all been corrected. Well, I don't know. Because these are the demo games that are out at the moment. They're not the actual original, the official machine. It's still a demo game. No, but the artwork is official. You can't change the artwork. No, I saw a photo. Was it like a dragon's head or something, like a something, where it had like a double head on it? The eyes were fucked. Was that right? Yes. Correct. But was that printed on the artwork or not? Yes. But they've changed it and they've fixed it, haven't they? Have they? Well, that's what I've seen. Where did you see it? I'm not too sure. It's something. There's something somewhere where I've looked. Okay. I'd be very interested because all I've seen and heard about is, you know, there's been windows through trees. Yeah, okay. where they shouldn't be. And there was, I mean, people have, and this, I was speaking to George about this, obviously, and I was discussing with him that, you know, like, I get that people are so fixated on the art because of the price of it. You know, you don't want to look at it and think, fuck, what have I done? But the flip side of that is that you know you kind of JJP well not the flip side but JJP would be I would think a little pissed because they got a license that everyone wanted and everyone was killing for And all accounts, the gameplay looks great, but everyone's focusing on these small little pieces of artwork, which I get for the price you're paying. But at the end of the day, JJP are probably like, we don't care. Just what's the gameplay like? We put all of these assets into it, all this work into building you guys the machine you wanted. We've got all the assets. They've got all nine movies. That's huge, man, to have all nine. Maybe because they're probably like Toy Story, oh, we did the fourth one and everyone just skewered us, so let's get all nine. When everyone wanted number one. Yeah. Yeah, you know, so I get from JJP's point of view, but I also get from a collector's point of view that you're not spending $22,000 plus to have all of these inconsistencies on Harry Potter art. I mean, there were his glasses. They showed they'd been, and I'm just parroting here because I've not looked deep into this, but on the edging of his glasses it was all fuzzy and hazy, which is a true sign of AI that it wasn't pencil or hand rendered so it wasn't a smooth line. Like you said, dragon double eyes. There was a window through a tree. Now it sounds corny but the tree was solid and then it just had this little arched window. On the train that they've used there were in a set of three and this is how nitpicky people are getting. So this is not me but I'm just parroting what people are saying. on the Harry Potter train, there were three windows, two of which were square, one of which was the, what's that shape? An arch. An arch top. People were like, it's AI. Yeah, it's not right. Done. You know, if that was hand-drawn, the artist wouldn't make that mistake. No. Because he would be drawing three of the same. But how was this not picked up during quality control? Who looked at it? I don't know. You don't? I don't know, but this is my point. And I get that people are so – like, if this was Matrix and they brought out Neo and he was wearing the wrong glasses, I'd be fucking furious, mate. So I get why people are nitpicking at this. Emblems have been wrong. The Harry Potter emblem on the front of the Hogwarts Express was the wrong emblem or something. You know, so there's these sort of glaring omissions where people are like, what are you fucking guys doing? And I get that. But as I said, the flip side is I wonder if Harry Potter are like, oh, my God, just play the game, guys, you know? Yep. You mean Jersey Jack or Harry Potter? Harry Potter. Maybe Harry Potter. But Jersey Jack, apologies. That's what I meant. So I was getting wound up. So what have we got anyway? So it's a wide-body machine. They've got the arcade edition. you've got the Wizard Edition which is the, both have the same artwork which is the the three wizards so Ron, Harry and Hermione I don't know, I've never actually seen a Harry Potter movie so I've got no idea so I'm just trying to remember all this and then, which they're on the side there and looks, I think it looks fine and then you've got the CE version which is which is what we're talking about with the AI graphics on there. Honestly, I wouldn't have known it was Harry Potter. Well, I think, no, no, hang on, sorry. You need to, what do you mean the AI graphics on there? Because all that artwork, the AI graphics, was on the CE. On the playfield. Are you talking about? No, isn't it on the, it's on the body? No. No, okay. Well, my understanding is after I listened to other podcasts, that CE, which I agree is gorgeous artwork. In my eyes, because I'm a movie, not a fan of it, but I'm a movie watcher, I didn't realise, that is all the artwork from the books. Yeah, okay. So that is their original, and that's what I mean. For you and me who aren't Harry Potter fans, we would have not known. But no, that is a tribute or a, because they use like three or four different artists in all of these. Maybe that's why there's so many stuff-ups on this artwork. Yeah, okay. But that CE artwork is specific to the book-style artwork that was written and designed when the books were done. My issue is that that artwork should be carried to the playfield and it's not. No. If it was, that machine would be gorgeous. Gorgeous. But they've got this beautiful artwork for the body and then this cut-and-play style on the playfield. Yep. So, yes. So, that's why. Sorry. So that's why I sort of had to say to you, hang on, what are you referring to? But, yeah, all of that is all depicted. Sorry, I'm showing him a photo off my phone now. All of that is depicted from the books. So isn't that where the double dragon's eyes were on there? No. No, I don't believe so. I thought it was. Well, there's no dragon in all of that, is there? Oh, no, there is. There is a dragon in all of that. No, I didn't think it was. Well, whatever. Anyway, so I'm wrong, you're wrong. It's what it is. Anyway, let's talk about the gameplay, yeah? Look, it looks great from what I can see. Wide body. I love wide bodies. Oops. Well, it does look confusing, honestly. Guess what? Eric's made it this time where you're not going to have a multiball fest and you actually have to work for this multiball. Yeah. Which is good. Yeah, I'm okay with that. Yeah, well, that's great. Like I said, but it's not like you launch a ball like Guns N' Roses and you get multiball for literally launching the ball. so at least they've worked this out and gone this is what people want, they want to work to actually achieve something so how do you get multiball, you need to like, well you've got to spell Harry, which is through the inlanes and out lane, which is also I'm just going to slide off topic a little bit because having to spell Harry is completely different now because there is no actual direct flow to the inlanes like on all machines, there is no going from a ramp does not feed any in lane or out lane so and also you've got two outlanes you've got an out lane on each side then you've got your, sorry no you've got two outlanes which are inlanes and then the next one is your out lane and then your pirates is only on the one side but this is on both sides and then you've got your in lane so since there's nothing there to directly feed it, it's probably just going to be a bit harder to spell Harry I think and then anyway so then you've got then you've got to spell Ron and then Hermione and then you can lock the ball up the staircase to the cauldron or around the back or however it goes but I think that staircase looks alright and it bloody spins fast I was quite surprised in how quick it's got to this location yeah it's got like 15 different ball areas or something like that look what is it called Death Eater Death Eater is that what it is it's pretty boring like it just stagnant just sits there but people are like oh but it shoots the ball out of you really fast what a great mech I'm like no that's just an out kick and it just it's the same on all machines it kicks the ball back out of you like seriously there's no mech about it like maybe if he sort of moved and followed the ball that could have been cool upper playfield yeah that looks pretty cool I couldn't even see plenty of shots up there mate it looks so congested I tried to look at it when I was watching that flipping out stream I'm like I can't even fucking see this upper playfield with all the shit in front of it. But it seems like there's a lot of shots up there and they're all makeable because they're actually staying up there for quite a while. It wasn't like on Foo Fighters where Foo Fighters, you're down in two seconds, are you? We found a good fix for that, though. Yeah, so it's a bit better, isn't it? Look, yep, I like it. I like that they've got the characters on the playfield as well because I look and go, it's Harry Potter. Once again, as I said, never seen a movie, but I know the faces, I know the theme. That's about my take on it. Yeah, I don't have much on the gameplay because, as I said, I just looked at it and I'm like, fucking this is confusing as hell. I'll be honest, it was a very, very fast-looking machine. Yes, it was fast, yes. That ball was flying around and I was like, I don't know if that's too fast because maybe I'm used to their wide bodies that have been slower, whereas this looks like quite a quick, because of the wide body as well, isn't it? So this looks like quite a quick wide body. It is a very fast wide body. Which is good. I mean, you know, you take, you know, I think one of my favourites is Demoman, as we've discussed before. So, you know, that's a very fast wide body. Certainly nowhere in the realm of what Harry Potter looks like, obviously. But, yeah, I'd have to do another June-style look over and give it another month to really delve into it and have a look at more gameplay. But, yeah, I don't know. Just very confusing. Very crowded. There was a lot of shit on the play field. It looks like a game you're never going to be able to complete unless you take the glass off. I cannot see how you're going to complete seven movies and all this. It looks pretty full on. Yeah, it does. But that's great, but that's what people want. Yeah. So anyway, we'll see how it goes. As I said, I know it'll be flying out the door regardless of everyone talking about the artwork, which, as I said, I think that's just because of the price point it sits at. But people will probably forget that once they stand in front of it and play. How much are the CEs delivered to Australia? They'd be $23 again. Oh, are they? Yeah, I don't think there was a price increase from JJP. Yeah, okay, that's right. I'm pretty sure he held firm. That's good news at least. Yeah, so that was Harry Potter. So let's move on to our last little bit. We've got our first email. how's that mate, breaking records is my thing, so we got an email for our 1 vs 1 1 vs 1 1 vs 1 we want to have something catchy if anyone out in podcast world wants to help us with a name for this or that we had it this or that which was good but then realised that straight down the middle had been doing a this or that and I thought let's not let's stick away from that sorry about that guys for copying yeah well we weren't really copying because we didn't know but um i said 1v1 i don't know what else there is one on one one on one which i thought just sounded like two people having sex we we are this is what we're doing aren't we we are not let's not go down that so anyway so we received an email from um anthony seren serantonio so i'm pretty sure that's how you pronounce it i think i pronounce it right anthony serantonio uh he says gents great podcast keep been coming especially the hot matt's coffee rant because i don't know if i've got another rant this month but i just uh so as i'm too getting grumpy as i get older if i may uh though i'd like to throw 10 machines at your you for consideration for your one-on-one but he did say this or that but one versus one yep so his machine yeah so his machine so do we just want to we'll just go one at a time so what do we got we got demolition man versus johnny mnemonic and this is going to be tough one for between both of us. Yes, the tough one. For me, it was the toughest one to choose from. I think you're going to choose Demolition Man. What are you... Oh, I'm just saying, I'm just taking a guess for you what you are. I'm still thinking as we're talking, to be honest. I would have said yes initially. Because I now have changed them. Well, I don't know. I know it's pretty difficult. We played Johnny last time at your place, didn't we? Yeah, we did. And I blew it up. And how much do I suck at the bloody video mode? I used to be so great at that. How was that, eh? Honestly, for me, probably Johnny Mnemonic. Yes. Actually, it is a tough choice. Johnny's great. Those ramps when you get them and the code of Johnny is really good. Demoman, I've always said, is the best flowing wide body. It is. With that little multiball start orbit that you've got to get it into, it's so hard. In saying that, yes, you're right. I am picking Demoman just over Johnny, just. And what have we got? We've got Twilight Zone versus Indiana Jones, both wide bodies. For me, I'm probably going to go Twilight Zone. I'm going to say Twilight Zone. I've been able to complete that game, honestly, and get high scores. I love the theme, but don't get me wrong, I do love Indiana Jones, but I just think Twilight Zone is just a better machine. Indy for me. I don't get the hype on Twilight Zone. Well, there you go. I much prefer Indy. I don't get the hype on Indy either. I don't think there's hype on Indy. Yes, there's plenty of hype on Indy. Okay, so if they're both hyped machines, I'm not picking Indie because of the hype. I'm picking Indie because I prefer it. I'm sure that's the same as me with Twilight Zone. Yeah, it's never really resonated. I don't enjoy it. It's probably less code. It's not as deep as Indie. Indie is definitely deeper with more code in them. Not code, just modes and everything. But, yeah, I've always had good fun on Twilight Zone. Yep. Pulp Fiction versus Jaws Premium. yeah they're just two completely bags of fun aren't they yeah so for me i'm gonna say jaws premium yeah i'm the same as i said earlier in the podcast pop fiction they ruined for me you pretty much i agree and also twenty thousand dollars for a um single level ss machine sure it's a new machine i just um i've played pop fiction before it was fun don't get wrong i did enjoy it but for what you get value for money i'm gonna say jaws yeah yep great and once again it's just The code with Elwynn and everything, it's, yeah. Then we've got the Shadow versus Medieval Madness, and this is, I'm not even going to think, it's just Medieval Madness. MM for me, too. Medieval Madness. Yeah, I own a Shadow as well, and I also own a Medieval Madness. I'm sure in my last podcast I've always said how great Medieval Madness is with the flow and just all the modes and everything. It's just a great layout. I reckon if your, and don't take this the wrong way. I know exactly what you're going to say. If your shadow was just dialed in a bit better, I reckon I'd enjoy it more. But there's too many times on the orbits that it comes straight down the middle on you. And yeah, the rebounds off the targets, which is standard for a shadow, but that just drives me fucking bananas. I mean, Game of Thrones is the same. You get the exact same thing happening. So like it is what it is. But yeah, I just reckon yours just needs to be dialed in just a little bit more. Once again, when Matt K is built, I'll be able to get into position with no little kid's fingers. But MM hands down. That's a hard one to pass up regardless of what it's against. Then what we've got is Williams Dracula versus John Wick. I'd like to hear what Mr. Ted would have to say about that. Yeah, 100%. Ted would be like, fucking Dracula. That's it. Fucking Dracula. He loves it. Nothing more. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've played both. Not a lot of time on either. I don't own either of the machines. That missed multiball is pretty damn cool on Dracula, isn't it? That is pretty damn cool. It is a very repetitive game, repetitive shots. John Wick, obviously, new machine, different code. It's got lots of different code in it. It's not a hard decision, come on. You know that's Wick all day long. Yeah, probably. But I was also comparing price. They're just two different ballparks. But yeah, it's Wick for me. Yeah, I think I generally would be, well, not generally, but in this, and thanks for the email, Anthony, I appreciate it too, man. I will point out, he didn't give us his answers. Yeah, we're your answers, mate. We need another email, buddy. Yeah, you might have to shoot us what your answers were. And if anyone wants to continue this 1v1, feel free to email us at pinballozwide at hotmail.com, and we'll chat about what you guys think on it. But yeah, Anthony, I'm interested to know your take on what machines you'd want. But yeah, I think for me, you know, like when you've got John Wick against Drac, same with premium, or Jaws against Pulp Fiction, but yeah. I'm sure John Wick's a premium. I'm just going to base it on the premium. Yeah, I just think the newer machines tend to take it for me over some of the older ones, unless it's up against your A titles. Yeah, yeah, that's right. So yeah. So yeah, so thank you again, Anthony. I appreciate it, man. And apart from that admin rant, I can't remember. I think we've been pretty good apart from one bloke using a, I'm pretty sure he got a jar of Vaseline and smudged all over his camera and took some photos and said, what's wrong with the photos? Why did you delete my post? Yeah. There's always one. And it was in the dark. There's always one. I think otherwise it's been okay. No, I think we've been pretty good. Yeah. Yeah, look, these bloody scammers, though, they're still, getting paid ads on Facebook, so just be vigilant, guys. You know, there's still, what are you, I don't know, I could report him and Facebook go, no, we see nothing wrong. Matty, I think that's it, yeah? Happy with that? Yeah, thanks, Jarrod, mate. Been good chatting with you. I'll see you in another four weeks out of those three. Let's try and stay healthy. Yes, I reckon. Because you've got... Fucking made, we're off to Tazpin. Yeah, we're off to Tazpin in four weeks, aren't we? You're off to Tazpin with me. So I expect you to be a Herman for weeks and stay the fuck inside. Stay away from your kids. If they get a cold or a sniffle, sit them outside. Should be pretty good, mate. There's two weeks of holidays coming up. Yes, you'd want to be, man. I'll be fine. Mate, otherwise I'll send my VIP with you. Who's that? Rowan. Oh, okay. He'll take my spot. He is the feeling. He's the feeling. I tried to get Nathan to come with us. He's going to Tassie next week. I'm like, oh, yeah, that'd be right. Good timing, you bastard. I didn't know anyway it's been good thank you man appreciate it once again Jared great to have you in chat today thank you sir and thank you for letting me host today hey there's no thank you for letting me host that's getting cut for sure no jewel shit so it's been great man good chatting let's go to some lunch and a few games and some beers already sounds good thanks everyone cheers We'll see you next time.
